Was driving on Hwy at 65 mph. Rear drivers side tire blew out. Sidewall split and cause the tread to detach. Caliber Collision has pictures of the damage. I had to immediately pull to the side of a busy hwy at dusk. Just managed to get off the road. Called 911 but they didn’t stop to talk to us. AAA towed me to Caliber Collision. Total damages were $10,587.67. Car was totaled by USAA insurance. No warning ahead of time and the tire was 3 years old. Less than 25,000 miles put on it. Warning came on as I was pulling over after the flat but it was too late. Now I have an accident on my record when I only collided with the ground by the flat.
Vechile stalls and unable to shift to drive freely
My power locks and windshield wiper fluid pump stopped working. I took the vehicle to the nearest dealership over an hour away. After many days and an expensive car rental, the TIPM needed replacing. After researching this issue, it is DIRECTLY correlated to a dangerous issue that resulted in a lawsuit in 2015. Additionally, the recall associated with the TIPM is not fixable at this point because Dodge doesn't have parts. So, the TIPM I was given in this repair is dangerous. This was a $1067 repair for a vehicle that has 80k miles.

Potential odometer rollback indicated per carfax, engine failure. THIS CAR IS A DANGER TO EVERYONE. IT RANDOMLY CUTS OFF SHUTOUT WARNING. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC SHOP AND THEY ADVISED THERE WAS A RECALL THAT CAUSES THE CAR TO STALL OUT AND I NEEDED TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE WORK DONE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO SAID THEY COMPLETED THE WORK AND WE LEFT. LESS THAN A WEEK LATER THE CAR IS STILL RANDOMLY CUTTING OFF. IT CUTS OFF WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING OR AT COMPLETE STOP. IT ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE THE CAR STALL AND LOCKED UP SO I COULDN'T TURN TO AVOID HITTING ANYTHING. THANKFULLY THE CAR WAS ABLE TO A LOW TO A STOP BEFORE HITTING Q CURB AND GOING INTO A DITCH. AFTER THE CAR STALLS IBHVE TO OUT THE CAR IN PARK, TURN THE KEY OFF AND CRANK THE CAR BACK UP AND IT STARTS TO DRIVE. THE PROBLEM IS IBHAVE NO CLUE WHEN ITS GOING TO DON'T AGAIN AND NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHY THE ISSUE IS HAPPENING. IT HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 7 TIMES SINCE GETTING THE RECALL WORK COMPLETED LESS THAN A MONTH AGO. IT HAPPENS BOTH WHILE DRIVING AND STATIONARY. IT HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT OR TURNING. SO FAR I HAVE BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH FOR IT NOT TO HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAY AS I'M SCARED TO DRIVE IN THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE I WOULD PROBABLY DUE DUE TO AN ACCIDENT IF THIS HAPPENS AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED IN A HIGHWAY. A FIRE STARTED IN THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT. WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED IN THE GARGE AND TURNED OFF. NO ONE WAS IN THE VEHICLE. ABOUT 45 MINUTES AFTER THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED, THE PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG DEPLOYED.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A VEHICLE MARCH 2, 2021. I NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE HAS 3 RECALLS. THE DEALER THAT I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM DIDN'T HAVE ANY IMMEDIATE AVAILABILITY TO FIX THE VEHICLE. SO I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH DODGE DEALERSHIP. MY CAR WAS AT FACILITY 2 DAYS. ONCE I PICKED UP VEHICLE THEY INFORMED ME THEY COULDN'T FIX TWO OF THE RECALLS. JASON ( SERVICE GUY) INFORMED ME THAT HE WOULD UPDATE ME. WELL A MONTH LATTER HE TELLS ME THAT THE PARTS AREN'T THERE YET . CHRYSLER HASN'T RELEASED THE PARTS YET.
Lifter and limp mode problems. There is noise comming from engine. Took to shop and found out reason for noise and low power was lifters and is a very common problem. What brought the safety thing up is wife was in accident in March because couldn't get out of way quick enough. Had vehicle towed to shop from accident site and body repair. Thought was just a fluke and had damage repaired and noticed a ticking and power problems immediately after accident repair. Took to dodge dealer and found out common problem with the lifters cam and limp mode. Had at same repair shop for other recall 2 months prior for recall and inspection with no noise or issues.

MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HER 2012 DURANGO AND THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AND BLIND SPOT WARNING WAS GOING OFF. THE ENGINE STARTED MAKING A LOUD NOISE. SHE WAS 2 MILES FROM HOME, SO I TOLD HER TO DRIVE HOME AND TAKE MY TRUCK. WHEN I GOT HOME I INVESTIGATED THE ISSUE. WITHIN 1 MINUTE OF ME IDLING THE ENGINE TO LISTEN FOR WHERE NOISE THE ALTERNATOR STARTED SMOKING AND INTERNAL WERE GLOWING RED.
THE FORWARD CRASH WARNING SHUTS OFF AUTOMATICALLY WHILE I'M GOING DOWN THE ROAD. IT ALSO GETS STUCK IN PARK IF THIS HAPPENS WHILE I'M SITTING STILL. I HAVE TO RESTART THE CAR TO GET IT OUT OF GEAR. IT ALSO RANDOMLY TELLS ME THAT ADAPTIVE CRUISE IS NOT AVAILABLE

WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE DURANGO THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. SOON AFTER THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON EVERYTHING SHUT OFF. WEREN'T ABLE TO START IT OR DO ANYTHING. CHECKED TO SEE IF MY VEHICLE WAS ONE WITH AN ALTERNATOR RECALL AND IT ISN'T. REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR TWICE A NEW BATTERY AND STILL CAN'T DRIVE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE PUT THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR IN THE PCM AND I GUESS WHEN IT ALL SHUT DOWN ON MY WIFE IT MESSED THAT UP. SHE WAS IN MOTION WHILE THE LIGHT CAME ON AND WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET BUT LUCKILY SHE WASN'T FAR FROM HOME.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY WERE REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT RECALLS WERE VIN SPECIFIC. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 165,400.
WE PUT OUR DURANGO AWAY EACH WINTER AND DOESN'T GET DRIVEN UNTIL WE BRING IT OUT IN THE SPRING. 2 YEARS AGO I PULLED IT OUT IN THE SPRING. I FOUND 2 OIL PUDDLES WHERE THE REAR WHEELS SAT. ALL THE OIL HAD LEAKED OUT OF THE REAR SHOCKS. I HAD THEM REPLACED BY MY MECHANIC AT A COST OF $450 EACH, USING DODGE ORIGINAL PARTS. I WENT INTO OUR GARAGE A WEEK AGO (FEB 18TH 2021) AND FOUND THE LEFT REAR SHOCK HAD LET GO AGAIN, ANOTHER PUDDLE ON THE GARAGE FLOOR. IF THESE LET GO WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE BOUNCES VIOLENTLY. I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I HAVE DRIVEN IT THAT WAY FOR ABOUT 10 MILES TO OUR MECHANIC, I HAD ALL I COULD DO TO HANG ONTO IT.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
DODGE HAS ISSUES A RECALL TO THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. IN THE RECALL LETTER IS STATES "A VEHICLE ENGINE STALL WHILE DRIVING CAN CAUSE A VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING". I'VE CALLED THE DEALER AND TOLD THE RECALL PARTS ARE ON BACKORDER AND WOULD ARRIVE IN 2-3 WKS. I CALLED, THE PARTS ARE RESTRICTED MEANING THEY ARE ONLY SHIPPING 1 PART PER DEALER PER WEEK AND TALKING TO THE PARTS MANAGER MY CAR WILL NOT RECEIVE IT'S RECALL PARTS FOR MONTHS OUT. MY CAR IS UNRELIABLE AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE IN WINTER CONDITIONS IN CHICAGO. THIS IS COMPLETELY ABSURD. DODGE CUSTOMER SERVICE PROVIDED ABSOLUTELY NO REMEDIES AFTER TALKING WITH A CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER.
THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD INTERMITTEN NO START AND STALL CONDITIONS WHILE DRIVING SINCE DECEMBER 2019. IT SEEMS TO QUIT WHEN SLOWING DOWN FOR A TURN, THIS HAS LEFT MY WIFE WITH A DEAD VEHICLE IN ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THIS HAS BEEN RECALLED 2 PREVIOUS TIMES AND REPAIRED BUT THE REPAIRS HAVE NOT HELPED. DECEMBER OF 2020 DODGE FINALLY CAM UP WITH A FIX FOR THE LATEST V62 RECALL AND WE HAD THE VEHICLE FIXED. 2 WEEKS LATER IT STARTED HAPPENING AGAIN. I WOULD THINK 3 RECALLS AND REPAIRS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM WOULD BE ENOUGH TO REMEDY THE SITUATION. THIS 3RD FIX TOOK 12 MONTHS!! I WANTY DODGE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS VEHICLE OR BUY IT BACK SO NOBODY ELSE GETS KILLED WHILE DRIVING IT. THIS VEHICLE HAD A NO SELL ORDER ON IT SO I AM STUCK WITH IT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT AT LESS THAN 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THE CONTACT PLACED THE VEHICLE INTO PARK AND THEN TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON. THE VEHICLE REVVED UP AND FAILED TO START. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOWED THE VEHICLE TO MTN VIEW CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (6276 ALABAMA HWY, RINGGOLD, GA 30736; (706) 935-2328). THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FUEL PUMP FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 131,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
FUEL PUMP RELAY NHTSA V62, 19V-813 WHILE PRESSING THE ELECTRONIC IGNITION SWITCH TO START MY VEHICLE, MY VEHICLE WENT INTO A NO-START CONDITION WHERE THE VEHICLE CRANKED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE STALLING OUT COMPLETELY. AFTER PRESSING THE ELECTRONIC IGNITION SWITCH TO THE OFF POSITION AND OPENING-UP MY DRIVER'S DOOR TO RESET THE VEHICLE. I WAS ABLE TO PRESS THE ELECTRONIC IGNITION SWITCH AGAIN AND START MY VEHICLE. THIS IS CONCERNING BECAUSE I HAVE HAD THE LATEST V62 RECALL REPAIR DONE CORNING THIS MATTER.

ON NOV 28 2020 I WAS INVOLVED IN A MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN MY 2012 DODGE DURANGO. I WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 45 MPH ON A DRY 2 WAY ROAD, WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME AND I WAS UNABLE TO AVOID A COLLISION. THE ACCIDENT WAS BAD ENOUGH TO FLIP THE OTHER VEHICLE AND CAUSE THEIR AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY BUT THE AIRBAGS IN MY VEHICLE DID NOT DEPLOY. THIS CAUSED ME AND MY PASSENGER TO HAVE NO PROTECTION, OTHER THAN THE SAFETY RESTRAINTS. BOTH HAVE SUFFERED HEAD, NECK AND BACK INJURIES. IN THIS ACCIDENT DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF FRONT END DAMAGE, THE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. NOT SURE IF THERE WAS A FAULTY SENSOR OR IF MY VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN APART OF THE AIR BAG RECALL LIST, LIKE MY 2 OTHERS. BUT LIVES WERE AT STAKE AND COULD HAVE BEEN LOST. *TR
THE VEHICLE HAS HAD AN OPEN RECALL FOR OVER A YEAR ABOUT THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. MY VEHICLE HAS STOPPED RUNNING A FEW TIMES WHILE BEING DRIVEN ON THE FREEWAY. AT FIRST, IT WAS ABLE TO RESTART AFTER A FEW MINUTES. THEN, THE VEHICLE DID NOT START AT ALL. DODGE SAYS THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE THE PROPER RECALL REPAIR PART MADE YET AND WOULD STILL REPLACE IT WITH THE CURRENT PART THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED. I DID NEED TO HAVE THAT DONE TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE. AFTER 2 MONTHS OF DRIVING AN 80 MILE DAILY ROUND TRIP TO WORK AND HOME, IT HAS STOPPED RUNNING AGAIN. I HAVE CALLED DODGE AND TRIED TO GET THE VEHICLE TOWED AND FIXED PROPERLY BUT THEY ACT LIKE IT IS NOT THEIR COMPLETE CONCERN. THEY ARE CURRENTLY NOT PROVIDING TOWING OR A RENTAL. THIS IS VERY UNACCEPTABLE FOR A MANUFACTURER TO POST A RECALL AND THEN NOT GET IT PROPERLY FIXED IN OVER A YEAR TIME FRAME.

MY VEHICLE HAD A ALTERNATOR RECALL RECALL DATE WAS ISSUED ON JULY 10, 2017 I HAD MY LOCAL DODGE DEALER CHANGE THE DEFECTIVE ALTERNATOR BETWEEN APRIL AND AUGUST OF 2018. MY VEHICLE WAS IN STORAGE FOR ABOUT 7 MONTHS. MY BATTERY LIGHT KEPT COMING ON ON 10/25/ 2020 I HAD THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR TESTED AND ALTERNATOR SHOWED WAS CHARGING AT 11.13V WHICH IS UNDER THE ACCEPTABLE LIMIT. I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL THE ALTERNATOR IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD NOTHING AFTERMARKET IS INSTALLED IN VEHICLE TO EFFECT CHARGING SYSTEM.

THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER, TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE, AND WAITED FOR APPROXIMATELY 45 MINUTES TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND OPERATED AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 190,000.
THE ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE VEHICLE DEPLOYED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS SITTING IN PARK IN MY DRIVEWAY. WE HAD JUST STARTED THE CAR WHEN IT DEPLOYED. NOTHING HIT THE VEHICLE OR MADE THE VEHICLE MOVE IN A NONE NORMAL WAY. THANK GOODNESS WE WEREN'T IN MOTION WHEN IT DEPLOYED. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. THE HEADREST CANNOT BE RESET AS YOU CAN SEE THE INTERNAL PLASTIC THAT WAS HOLDING IT TOGETHER IS BROKEN. I AM PROVIDING PICTURES AND AM HAPPY TO PROVIDE MORE IF NEEDED.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT IF SHE WOULD HAVE CONTINUED DRIVING, THE ENTIRE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE CAUGHT ON FLAMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO LOCAL DEALER RALPH SELLERS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (14215 AIRLINE HWY, GONZALES, LA 70737 (225) 529-9160) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE ALTERNATOR REPLACED DUE TO AN INTERNAL SHORTAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, UPON INVESTIGATION THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. RADIATOR CATASTROPHICALLY FAILED AT 119200 MILES WHILE DRIVING. UPON INSPECTION IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE WHOLE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE RADIATOR RIB FAILED WHERE THE METAL MEETS THE PLASTIC HOUSING RESULTING IN A MASSIVE COOLANT LEAK.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. CODE FOR CYLINDER 2 MISFIRE. I'VE CHANGED THE COIL PACKS AND SPARK PLUGS. A DAY LATER LIGHT CAME BACK ON FOR SAME CODE.

8/26/2020 FUEL PUMP RELAY FAILED, WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP, I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR FOR THE INTERIM REPAIR AND HAD TO SUBMIT FOR REIMBURSEMENT FROM DODGE. A WEEK LATER THE VEHICLE STALLED OUT GOING DOWN HILL, TWICE IN ONE DAY. THE VEHICLE WILL HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP ONCE THE OFFICIAL PARTS COME IN, ( EVERYTHING IS DELAYED DUE TO COVID).
THE RECALL V62 HAS BEEN KNOWN FOR 2 YEARS. NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE TO FIX THE RECALL. MY VEHICLE IS NON-DRIVEABLE AT THE DEALERSHIP WAITING ON A PART TO FIX IT THAT IS "UNAVAILABLE". NO RENTAL WAS OFFERED NOR ANY TIME FRAME OF WHEN THE PART WOULD BE AVAILABLE WAS GIVEN.
MY CAR IS CURRENTLY ONE OF THE CARS IN AN OPEN RECALL WITH DODGE FOR THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. I HAD THE FUEL PUMP RELAY REPLACED LAST WEEK 8/10/2020 SINCE THAT TIME THE CAR WAS DRIVEN MAYBE 4 TIMES. THE CAR WAS PARKED FOR THE LAST FOUR DAYS IN MY GARAGE I TRIED TO DRIVE IT TODAY AND IT STALLED AFTER 15 MINUTES WHILE I WAS DRIVING THANKFULLY IN A PARKING LOT. I ATTEMPTED TO PUT A NEW RELAY ON THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WIRING HARNESS BUT IT STILL WOULD NOT START. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES I WOULD ASSUME THE WIRING HARNESS COOLED ENOUGH I COULD GET THE CAR STARTED AND THANKFULLY I WAS ONLY 2 MINUTES AWAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP. MY CAR HAS BEEN AT A DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES SINCE JUNE 10 AND TWICE IN ALMOST 2 WEEKS. THE MANUFACTURER IS NOT HELPING AND IS TELLING ME I HAVE TO WORK WITH THE DEALERSHIP. THEY ARE AT A LOSE FOR WHAT TO DO SINCE DODGE IS NOT GIVING THEM ANY DIRECTION. THE CAR IS NOT RELIABLE NOR DEPENDABLE AND CURRENTLY HAS A RECALL ON THE FUEL PUMP RELAY TO FIX THE RECALL THAT DID NOT WORK. I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE SOME ASSISTANCE I CANNOT BE THE ONLY ONE WITH A DODGE VEHICLE FROM THIS RECALL THAT IS NOT HAVE ISSUES!

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED AND REMAINED AT THE DEALER. I HAD JUST MADE IT THROUGH AN INTERSECTION AND WAS A FEW MILES FROM HOME. SOMETHING SMELLED A LITTLE "HOT" EVEN THOUGH I DIDN'T HAVE THE RADIO, HEAT OR ANY EXTRA CONTROLS. SUDDENLY, ALL OF THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH BEGAN FLASHING AT ME AND I BEGAN LOSING POWER OF THE VEHICLE. I COULDN'T EVEN PUT MY WINDOWS UP. I PULLED TO THE SIDE AS FAST AS I COULD BEFORE LOSING ALL POWER, INCLUDING MY BLINKERS TO WARN OTHER CARS. I HAD TO CALL AAA FOR A TOW AND THEY HAD TO USE A BYPASS TO GET THE CAR IN NEUTRAL TO EVEN TOW IT. THEY ATTEMPTED TO CHARGE THE CAR AND THE CHARGING PACK GOT EXTREMELY HOT AS IF IT WAS GOING TO CATCH FIRE TO THE POINT HE HAD TO DISCONNECT IT. MEANWHILE, A LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT CREW WAS RETURNING TO THEIR STATION WITH AN AMBULANCE AND STOPPED TO HELP SLOW DOWN TRAFFIC ON THE BUSY ROAD. ONE OF THE FIREMAN NOTICED SPARKS COMING FROM THE ALTERNATOR AREA. THAT'S WHEN EVERYTHING WAS DISCONNECTED AND TOWED FOR REPAIRS. FAST FORWARD, THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY WERE REPLACED AND THE VEHICLE IS STILL NOT FUNCTIONING. THE MECHANIC HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET THE CAR RUNNING AGAIN.
I WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE FUEL PUMP RELAY GOT TOO HOT AND CAUSED THE CAR TO FAIL. HOW DOES A PERSON KNOW WHEN OR IF THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN AND IS THIS NOT A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE?
MY DURANGO HAS STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE RECALL FOR THE FUEL PUMP RELAY RECALL HAS BEEN PERFORMED AND REPLACED AND TWO NEW RELAYS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED. THE LAST RELAY LASTED TWO MONTHS AND FAILED COMPLETELY YESTERDAY. MY CAR HAS BEEN TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP. THERE IS AN OPEN RECALL ON THIS ISSUE WITH NO TIMELINE FOR A FIX. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH YESTERDAY TO GET THE CAR TO A PARKING SPACE INSTEAD OF PULLING INTO TRAFFIC ON A BUSY ROAD BEFORE IT DIED.
THIS IS IN REFERENCE TO THE RECALL ON DODGE DURANGO FUEL PUMP RELAY. SINCE THIS RECALL HAS STILL NOT BEEN OPENED TO BE FIXED, I AM AT THE POINT WHERE MY VEHICLE IS NOT STARTING BECAUSE OF IT. IF IT DOES START I AM WORRIED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF IT CAUSING VEHICLE TO STOP WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE FOUR CHILDREN AND THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. LIKE MANY OTHERS IN THIS TIME OF COVID, I DO NOT HAVE THE FUNDS TO FIX THIS EXPENSIVE RECALL. IS THERE ANY UPDATE ON WHEN THIS CAN BE FIXED? I HAVE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT IS STILL NOT APPROVED. THIS STARTED ABOUT 3-4 WEEKS AGO AND NOW IS GETTING WORSE. CAR WOULDN'T START AT ALL YESTERDAY. I HAVE SCANNED AND CHECKED EVERYTHING WITH MECHANIC. HE SAYS IT IS RECALL ITEM HE BELIEVES.

THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR WERE REPLACED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 14V634000(ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000.
