I'VE HAVE AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND FEELING LIKE THE TRUCK IS GOING TO STAHL. CAN'T REMOTE START MY TRUCK BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. I'VE TAKEN IT TO GET REPAIRED SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND STILL HAVE NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM. I JUST GOT MY TRUCK BACK ON 10/25/19 AND DIDN'T DRIVE IT UNTIL MONDAY 10/18/19 AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND FEELING LIKE IT'S GOING TO STAHL. I WANT MY TRUCK TO BE REPAIRED ALREADY.
BEGINNING IN DEC 2017, WE'VE HAD SPORADIC ISSUES WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAYS AND LOCAL ROADS WITH SOME PORTION OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE CENTER LCD DASH SCREEN POWERS OFF, AND WE LOSE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. DASH LIGHTS, EXTERIOR LIGHTS, RADIO, A/C ALL STAY ON. TYPICALLY WE HAVE TO PULL OVER AND TURN THE CAR OFF & BACK ON FOR IT TO RETURN. FROM DEC-OCT, ITS HAPPENED APPROX 5-6 TIMES. THE DEALER WASN'T ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE FOR THE DAYS THEY HAD IT, AND NO ERROR CODES WERE WRITTEN. A FRIEND ALSO WITH A DURANGO DESCRIBED TO ME SIMILAR ISSUES WITH HIS, AND SAID HIS TIPM WAS FAULTY. WE HAVE LIFETIME WARRANTY, AND THE TIPM IS COVERED, BUT THEY REFUSE TO REPLACE IT UNTIL THE DEALER CAN REPLICATE THE ISSUE AND GET AN ERROR CODE POINTING TO THE TIPM. I BELIEVE BECAUSE WE LOSE POWER STEERING, THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD AND SHOULD BE REPLACED REGARDLESS.
ONCE AGAIN IM DRIVING TO WORK ON 7/30/18 AS I GO TO GET OFF MY EXIT MY TRUCK SHUTS OFF AND ALMOST GOT STRUCK BY A TRACTOR TRAILOR. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS APPRANTLY MY TRUCK ISNT ON IT BUT ITS DOING EXACTLY WHAT THE RECALL EXPLAINED. THIS TIME I WAS LUCKY THAT THE TRUCK DRIVER WASNT FOLLOWING TO CLOSE OR I PROBLY WOULDNT BE HERE TO TYPE THIS PROBLEM, I HOPE YOU GUYS CAN TAKE THE TIME OUT AND HELP ME WITH THIS SITUATION BEFORE IT BECOMES A BIG PROBLEM WHERE AS I MIGHT DIE DUE TO NOTHING IS BEING DONE. OK, SO WHILE I'M DRIVING TO WORK ON A BUSY HIGHWAY GO TO GET OFF MY EXIT LIKE ALWAYS MY TRUCK AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS OFF THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING PROBLEM. I TAKE MY TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT, THEN I READ ABOUT A RECALL ON THE ALTERNATOR AND THE PROBLEM IT IS CAUSING WHICH SOUNDS LIKE WHAT I AM EXPERIENCING AT THE MOMENT. I AM AFRAID THAT THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN WHILE I HAVE MY FAMILY IN THE TRUCK WITH ME AND GET REAR ENDED. SO I PRAY THAT YOU GUYS CAN COME UP WITH THE RIGHT SOLUTION FOR MY TRUCK. THERE IS A RECALL ON 2012 DODGE DURANGO ALTERNATOR BUT I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY INFORMATION ON THIS RECALL. AS I'M DRIVING MY TRUCK SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING, I'M AFRAID THAT IF MY WIFE DRIVES MY TRUCK AND THIS HAPPENS TO HER OR MYSELF WITH OUR KIDS IN THE VEHICLE AND SOMEONE SLAMS IN THE BACK OF US I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'LL DO. SO I TOOK IT TO LIA DODGE WHERE I PURCHASED IT BUT THEY SAY IT'S NOTHING COMING UP WHEN THEY SCAN IT. BUT ONCE AGAIN LIKE I STATED IT KEEPS SHUTTING OFF AT LEAST 2_3TIMES PURE MONTH. HANKOOK ROADHANDLER H/T TIRES ON AN SUV -SEVERE TIRE DEFECT THIS TIRE WAS NOT LISTED IN CHOICES SO I CHOOSE ROADHANDLER SPORT -MY TIRES ARE ROADHANDLER H/T , THEY ARE SUV TIRES, UNSURE OF SIZE CAR WAS NOT HANDLING WELL AND FELT FUNNY AT TIMES WHEN DRIVING, I HAD SOME OTHER ISSUES WITH THE CAR SO BROUGHT IT TO GARAGE AND THEY NOTIFIED ME OF THE SEVERE TIRE DEFECT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH AND DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY DECELERATED AND SHUT OFF. AFTER APPROXIMATELY TEN MINUTES, THE ENGINE WAS RESTARTED AND THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE A SECOND TIME BEFORE IT WAS TAKEN TO MOHAVE MOTORS (631 W. MAIN ST, BARSTOW, CA). THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000. **TR CONSUMER STATED THIS IS WHERE I INQUIRED ABOUT ANY RECALLS. THIS IS WHERE I WAS MEANT BY SUPPOSEDLY BY HEAD MECHANIC, WHO WAS REDO, OBNOXIOUS, AND INCOMPENTENT. MY DURANGO WAS NEVER TAKEN THERE, WHEN I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECALLS AND THEY WOULD TINKER WITH IT, WITH A SMIRK, I LEFT NEVER TO GO THERE AGAIN. 7/30/18 MANUFACTURE WAS CALLED SAME ANSWER NO RECALLS. I THEN TOOK IT TO VICTORVILLE MOTORS. THE HARNESS THAT WAS ATTACHED TO THE RECALL RELAY PUMP, BURNT TO A CRISP. PART REQUIRED TO PROVIDE A PERMANENT REMEDY FOR THIS CONDITION IS CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE.UPDATED 10/22/18*JB
BAD CAMS IN LESS THAN 100,000 MILES. ENGINE MISFIRE ON 5TH CYLINDER, UNABLE TO ACCELERATE QUICKLY, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHING. $4,700 REPAIR.
REPAIRD BRAKE BOOSTER SHIELD IN 2016 UNDER RECALL P14 NHTSA 14V-154 AT THE DEALERSHIP, NO I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM BECAUSE THE BOOSTER SHIELD WAS INSTALLED INCORECTLY AND THERE IS ANOTHER RECALL T59 BUT DEALER IS TRYING TO TELL ME LAST TIME T WAS N ALTERNATOR AND HAVING ME WAIT OVER A WEEK FOR APT TO FIX IT, TOTALLY IRRESPONSIBLE AND RIDICULOUS. I WAS GOING ABOUT 20MPH AND COULD NOT STOP THE CAR.
USING THE PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM, WITH THE ENGINE OFF, THE BRAKE PEDAL NOT DEPRESSED, AND THE TRANSMISSION GEAR SELECTOR SET TO P(ARK). WHEN THE PUSH BUTTON START IS PRESSED TWICE, THE VEHICLE ATTEMPTED TO START UP, AND STARTED TO MOVE ON IT'S OWN. THERE WAS NOBODY IN THE DRIVER SEAT, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS NOT DEPRESSED, THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN PARK. BLUE WATER CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN FORT GRATIOT, MI HAS VERIFIED THIS TO BE HAPPENING AND REPRODUCIBLE.
The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Durango. The contact stated the vehicle would fail to start. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V813000 (Electrical System) however, the dealer informed the contact that parts for the recall repair were not yet available. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently stalled. The contact stated that as he attempted to turn the steering wheel, the steering wheel was firm. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated he forcefully steered the steering wheel and veered to the side of the road. The contact stated he was able to restart the vehicle after several attempts. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the fuel relay switch was bypassed as temporary remedy for the recall as per the manufacturer's instructions; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who informed the contact that they could no longer assist as the parts for the recall repair were not available. The dealer also informed the contact that the manufacturer only provided one part per month for the recall repair. The contact stated that he contacted several unknown dealers who advised as the first dealer. The contact also stated the camera that worked in conjunction with the cruise control had malfunctioned. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed the contact that they could not duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact that they could not assist. The manufacturer referred the contact to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. SUNDAY, JUNE 3, 2018, MY AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON WITH THE INTERMITTENT AND ANNOYING 'DING' TO SIGNAL AN ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS WORKING FINE WHEN I PARKED IT THE NIGHT BEFORE WITH NO WARNING LIGHTS ON. LIGHT WILL PERIODICALLY GO OUT BRIEFLY AND THEN COME BACK ON WITH THE 'DING.' I WAS DRIVING THE CAR THE FIRST TIME I NOTICED IT. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE HAD AN ISSUE WITH THIS LIGHT COMING ON. PREVIOUSLY, IT WAS 'TAKEN CARE OF' WHEN I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR RECALL WORK.

THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT CALLED LAKELAND DODGE AT (863) 687-2501 (2875 MALL HILL DR., LAKELAND, FL 33810) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR WAS ALREADY COMPLETED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,245.
VEHICLE HAS TURNED OFF TWICE IN ONE WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. SECOND TIME TODAY MY FAMILY WAS IN THE FREEWAY AND WERE ALMOST SERIOUSLY HURT AFTER THE ENGINE TURNED OFF OUT OF NO WHERE.
THE REAR LIFT GATE CLOSES WITHOUT WARNING RAPIDLY AND WITH GREAT FORCE. IT IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. IT COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THE STRUTS ARE BAD. I WAS ALSO TOLD I SHOULD NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM IN THE SUMMER. I DO NOT THINK IT IS EVER ACCEPTABLE THAT THUS OCCURS. I HAVE FOUR CHILDREN AND THIS US UNACCEPTABLE. I CONTACTED DODGE AND THEY WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY SINCE I AM NOT THE ORIGINAL OWNER. I CAN PROVIDE VIDEO OF THIS OCCURRENCE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE CONTACT DETECTED A BURNING ODOR INSIDE THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE BATTERY WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND EXITED THE VEHICLE, OPENED THE HOOD, AND NOTICED A SMALL FIRE BY THE ALTERNATOR. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS NOT NOTIFIED AS THE HUSBAND WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOWED TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AS A POSSIBLE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.

A FUEL STATION ATTENDANT WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A FAULTY ALTERNATOR THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FIRE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FIRE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 98,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I HAVE TAKEN MY TRUCK IN FOR ALL THE RECALLS AND NOW HAVING TROUBLE WITH POWER STEERING LEAKAGE AND THE SYSTEM NOT STAYING COOLED. THE TRUCK DOES NOT STAY COOL WHEN DRIVING THE RPM GOES ABOVE 3 AT THE SPEED OF 60 MILES PER HOUR. THE POWER STEERING LEAKAGE WAS TOLD TO ME ON THE OIL CHANGE DONE 4/2018
2012 DURANGO SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (AIRBAGS) LIGHT STUCK ON. APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AS THERE ARE OTHER COMPLAINTS. WHAT WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IS, WHILE DODGE SAYS TO HAVE THE VEHICLE SERVICED IMMEDIATELY UPON THE LIGHT COMING ON, WHAT HAPPENS IF IMMEDIATE SERVICING IS NOT POSSIBLE? ARE THE BAGS GOING TO DEPLOY AT ANY TIME? WILL THEY NOT DEPLOY WHEN THEY SHOULD? AS THERE ARE A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT AIRBAGS IN THE VEHICLE, IS ONE BAG MORE AFFECTED THAN ANOTHER? HELP NHTSA! AIRBAG SYSTEMS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO FAIL IN ANY WAY. MANUFACTURERS SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE! THE OTHER COMPLAINTS LISTED ON THIS SITE SOUND HORRIFYING. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM!
THE CHECK ENGINE BULB IS FUNCTIONAL (LIGHTS UP INITIALLY WHEN TURNING ON THE VEHICLE), BUT DOES NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN THERE IS AN ENGINE CODE REPORTED. I'VE ENCOUNTERED 2 DIFFERENT PROBLEMS WHERE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DIDN'T ILLUMINATE. THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL WAS MALFUNCTIONING, AND THE CAR OCCASIONALLY WENT INTO LIMP MODE, USUALLY ON HIGHWAYS WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT, SOMETIMES AT HIGH SPEEDS, RISKING A REAR END COLLISION. FORTUNATELY THE THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATED, BUT THERE WAS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE CRUISE CONTROL IS MALFUNCTIONING, DISENGAGING AT RANDOM TIMES AT HIGH SPEEDS ON A HIGHWAY, AGAIN RISKING A REAR END COLLISION. NO INDICATOR LIGHTS ILLUMINATE, AND THERE IS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. AN ENGINE CODE READ REPORTS ERROR P0572, WHICH INDICATES A PROBLEM WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL, BUT THERE IS STILL NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED.
BLIND SPOT DETECTION SYSTEM FAILED. LOCATION OF MODULES CAUSE IT TO DETERIORATE
CAR NOT STARTING ACTS LIKE NOT GETTING ANY FUEL OR MAY START AND DIE LIKE NOT GETTING ENOUGH FUEL. AUTO HEADLIGHTS WILL SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING OR MAY NOT COME ON AT ALL
ENGINE STALLS WHEN STARTED FOR NO REASON. ENGINE ALSO CYCLES MULTIPLE TIMES WITH OUT STARTING. THEN WILL FINALLY START. THIS HAPPENS WITH THE KEY, OR USING HE PUSH BUTTON START. NO WARNING LIGHTS COME ON AND NO CODES TO READ AT DEALER. HEAD LIGHTS, INTERIOR LIGHTS FLICKER. LIKE NO POWER GETTING TO ENGINE. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING PERIODICALLY FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS. WE HAVE MONITORED DIFFERENT EVENTS TO TRY TO NARROW IT DOWN, HOWEVER THERE IS NO COMMON THREAD.
WE PURCHASED A CAR IN MARCH 2018, CAME TO FIND OUT IT HAD AN OPEN RECALL ON THE ALTERNATOR. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY FIXED IT BUT THEY INSTALLED AN ALTERNATOR THAT ALSO HAS AN OPEN RECALL SO WE ASSUME THEY TOOK THE PART FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE INSTEAD OF REPLACING IT WITH A NEW ONE.
I HAD A PASSENGER SITTING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT MOVING THE SEAT BACK WITH POWER CONTROLS AND THE HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE I WAS DRIVING LESS THAN 30 MPH IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA, DID NOT KNOW WHAT IT WAS AT FIRST, IT WAS LOUD POPPING SOUND...ONCE I LEARNED WHAT HAPPENED I LOOKED UP TO SEE HOW TO RESET IT AND ATTEMPTED SO..WITH NO SUCCESS. THE BRACKETS THAT HOLD THE PIN IS/WAS BROKEN. I ALSO LEARNED THIS IS NOT SUPPOSE TO HAPPEN UNLESS YOU ARE HIT FROM BEHIND AND IT SHOULD DEPLOY TO AVOID WHIPLASH, THIS WAS NOT THE CASE, LUCKILY MY PASSENGER WAS NOT INJURED FROM THE HEADREST DEPLOYING PREMATURELY. I CONTACTED THE DEALER TO LEARN THIS WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY PLAN I HAVE. THE REPAIR COST IS 911.85 THAT I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR, I PAID 135 JUST TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT, WHICH WILL GO TOWARDS REPAIRS IF FIXED WITHIN 30DAYS, THIS COST IS NOT WITHIN REACH FOR ME. I HAVE ALSO READ OTHER DODGE MODELS WITH THE SAME ISSUE IN THE PAST. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS AS THIS IS NOT UNCOMMON BUT VERY COSTLY TO THE CAR OWNER. THANK YOU. MILEAGE THIS OCCURRED AT 52000
WE HAD AN EXHAUST LEAK, AND WE DIDN'T THINK THAT IT WAS A BIG DEAL MAYBE A BROKEN SEAL. I NOTICED THE LEAK WHEN I USED MY REMOTE START IN THE MORNING.TURNS OUT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD WARPED AND BROKE BOLTS! THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED SOME SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE IF IT HADN'T BEEN LOOKED INTO. I LOOKED AT OTHER DODGE DURANGO OWNER SITES AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AMONGST OWNERS OF THIS MAKE AND MODEL.
THE ORC MODULE NOT WORKING I JUST DRIVING AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT TURN ON
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY AND ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND THEN STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED SOUTH COUNTY DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM AT (314) 487-1010 (7127 S LINDBERGH BLVD, ST. LOUIS, MO 63125) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WERE NOT ACCEPTING RECALLS. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,850.
AFTER PRESSING THE VEHICLE IGNITION BUTTON TO TURN OFF, IF YOU PRESS THE BUTTON TO TURN IT BACK ON, IT CONSTANTLY TRIES TO TURN OVER. THIS HAPPENS ALSO WHEN YOU PRESS THE IGNITION BUTTON AND IT DOESN'T TURN OVER. IF YOU PRESS THE IGNITION BUTTON, IT DOESN'T START, PRESS THE BUTTON AGAIN, IT CONSTANTLY TURNS OVER. THE ONLY WAY TO SUCCESSFULLY START IT AFTER THAT IS TO GET OUT OF VEHICLE, CLOSE THE DOOR, AND GET BACK IN. THIS HAS HAPPENED A NUMEROUS AMOUNT OF TIMES.
WELL THERE'S SEVERAL ISSUES MAIN ONES BEING THE SELF ACCELERATIONS, NOT TO MENTION MAJOR FACTOR SCARY ONE IS MY VEHICLE GOES FROM P TO D WITHOUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE FOUND THIS OUT WHILE CAR WAS OFF MY 3YR OLD MOVED THE SHAFT FROM PARK TO NEUTRAL WHILE CLIMBING ACROSS TO ME AND CAR BEGAN TO ROLE.
WHEN ATTEMPTING TO TURN THE HEAT ON IN THE DURANGO, DRIVER'S SIDE HEAT WORKS WELL, BUT PASSENGER AND BACKSEAT HAVE COLD AIR BLOWING OUT. DURANGO WAS PLACED ON SYNC TO HAVE THE WHOLE VEHICLE WARM TO THE SAME TEMP. I HAVE HEARD AND READ ABOUT MANY COMPLAINS OF THIS SAME ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2012 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE VEHICLE SLID ON ICE, INTO AN EMBANKMENT, WENT AIRBORNE, AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED WITH FORCE, BUT FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A FRACTURED BACK IN TWO PLACES AND A RUPTURED LEFT BREAST IMPLANT, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL TREATMENT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO A FACILITY AND A YARD, BUT WAS NOT INVESTIGATED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY OR A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V115000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), AND 17V572000 (SERVICE BRAKES, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE REPAIRS HAD NOT BEEN COMPLETED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AFTER THE CRASH TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE AIR BAGS NOT DEPLOYING. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT YET ISSUED ANY TSBS OR RECALLS FOR THE AIR BAGS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 186,000. *BF *TR *BF *BF *TR
DRIVING AT 35 MPH CAME TO A SLOW DOWN TO TURN VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND CAUSED ME TO GO INTO A DITCH AS NO BREAKS, NO STEERING, AND ALL POWER LOST. ONCE PUT INTO PARK STARTED BACK UP IMMEDIATELY. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT HAS HAPPENED FIRST TIME WAS AT A STOP LIGHT AND I WAS ABOUT TO TAKE OFF. NO WARNING OR ANYTHING. THE FIRST TIME I DIDN'T HAVE MY KIDS IN THE CAR AND THE SECOND TIME I DID AND WE COULD HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY HURT. I IS NOT SHOWING ANY CODES TO LET US KNOW WHAT I COULD POSSIBLY BE.
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE, AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS EACH TIME THE PROBLEM OCCURRED, AND APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF AND THE STEERING WHEEL WILL LOCK. REQUIRING THE VEHICLE TO BE RESTARTED EITHER ROLLING IN NEUTRAL OR FULLY STOPPED IN PARK.
WITH THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH IN THE AUTO POSITION THE LIGHT SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING A SLIGHT PANIC TO GET THEY SWITCH TO THE MANUAL POSITION
HATCH WILL NOT STAY UP. GO TO OPEN IT AND IT FALLS CLOSED
VEHICLE STALLED TWICE IN THE PAST MONTH WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH. LOST POWER STEERING CAPABILITY WHICH CREATED A DANGEROUS SITUATION IN AN ATTEMPT TO PULL THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER. SECOND INCIDENT HAPPENED YESTERDAY. VEHICLE DID RESTART AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS. VEHICLE RECALL R09 WAS ALLEGEDLY ADDRESSED BY ROUTE 46 DODGE IN NJ IN 2015.
T38 RECALL: I'VE TAKEN MY VEHICLE INTO PRESTIGE CHRYSLER DODGE, LAS VEGAS ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS CONCERNED ABOUT LOSS OF POWER AND STALLING WHILE TURNING AND HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM FOR THE T38 RECALL. YESTERDAY I WAS ALMOST REAR-ENDED BECAUSE MY VEHICLE LOST POWER DURING A TURN OFF THE INTERSTATE. THEY HAVE HOWEVER, CHARGED ME FOR OTHER ISSUES LIKE AN OIL PRESSURE SENSOR (SEE ATTACHED) THAT HAS NOT FIXED MY LOSS OF POWER. I CALLED FCA RECALL AND THEY HAVE SENT ME TO AN ALTERNATIVE DEALERSHIP FOR A REPLACEMENT ALTERNATOR. PRESTIGE CHRYSLER DODGE OF LAS VEGAS IS REFUSING TO FIX KNOWN SAFETY ISSUES AND ADVISED ME THAT THEY HAD TESTED MY ALTERNATOR AND KNEW IT WAS FAULTY, YET COULD NOT REPAIR IT WITHOUT THE RECALL PARTS. THEIR DEALERSHIP IS PLACING PEOPLE'S LIVES AT RISK BECAUSE THEY DO NOT WANT TO DO THE TEMPORARY FIX AND THEN HAVE TO COMPLETE THE RECALL AGAIN WHEN THE REPLACEMENT ALTERNATORS ARE ISSUED. THIS IS UNETHICAL, IRRESPONSIBLE, AND NEGLIGENT. THE RECALL WAS ISSUED IN JULY--THEY HAVE HAD MY DURANGO 3 TIMES, KNOWN ABOUT THE STALL AND REFUSED TO ASSIST ME. I ALSO HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND ASKED TO HAVE THE ALTERNATOR REPLACED WITH THAT--THEY REFUSED AGAIN SAYING THE WARRANTY WOULDN'T TOUCH A KNOWN DEFECT. PLEASE TAKE ACTION BEFORE THIS DEALERSHIP PLACES ANOTHER FAMILY IN DANGER FOR REFUSING TO COMPLY WITH NHTSA SAFETY REGULATIONS.

THE CONTACT CONTINUED DRIVING AND DID NOT COAST OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY WHILE DRIVING. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TURLOCK CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1600 AUTO MALL DR, TURLOCK, CA 95380) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SOFTWARE NEEDED TO BE UPGRADED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. WHILE AT A STOP SIGN, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, RESTARTED THE ENGINE, AND WAS ABLE TO RESUME DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. A TWENTY SEVEN POINT INSPECTION WAS PERFORMED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE UNTIL THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,599.

AT LESS THAN 73,000 MILES ON VEHICLE AND JUST SIX YEARS OLD THE AIR BAG LIGHT WILL GO OFF AND ON. THE LIGHT WILL BLINK ON AND OFF AT ALL TIMES THEN WILL GO OFF FOR WEEKS THEN COME BACK ON AND STAY ON. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT MUST GET FIXED BY MANUFACTURER.
RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED BUT NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE - THIS HAS BEEN IN LIMBO FOR SOME TIME NOW. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN HAVING A LOT OF TROUBLE THE PAST TWO MONTHS - STALLING, JUMPING, TROUBLE SHIFTING GEARS ON ITS OWN, SHUTTING OFF AT STOPS, HARD TO MAKE A SMOOTH TRANSITION INTO DIFFERENT SPEED LIMITS. I AM CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AND HAVE NOT HEARD OF WHEN THE PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE.
THE FUEL PUMP RELAY HARNESS WIRE THAT CONNECTS TO THE TIPM BOX IS CAUSING PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE TO START. THE ADDED WIRE MAKES THE OTHER CONNECTIONS HEAT UP AND THAT HAS MADE A HOLE IN THE FUSE BOX ALREADY AND THE FUEL PUMP HARNESS CONNECTION WIRE IS BURNING UP.

WE HAVE TAKEN MY SUV IN FOR THIS STARTER ISSUE FOR ALMOST AS LONG AS WE HAVE HAD IT. IT ACTS AS THOUGH IT IS STARTING BUT WONT TURN OVER. WE HAVE TO POP OUT THE PUSH TO START BUTTON AND MANUALLY TURN THE CAR OFF FOR IT TO STOP. IT DOES THIS MULTIPLE TIMES IN A ROW BEFORE STARTING. FINALLY AFTER 4 OR 5 VISITS FOR THE ISSUE, DODGE SAYS ITS SOME FUEL PUMP RELAY SO THEY FIXED THAT, BUT THE PROBLEM RETURNED. THE CAR COMPLETELY STALLED ONE DAY WHILE WE WERE DRIVING, AND IT STOPPED TURNING ON. WE LOST ALL POWER, NO POWER STEERING, AND EVERY LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH BOARD. THIS HAPPENED AS WE WERE EXITING THE DALLAS NORTH TOLLWAY... LUCKILY WE WERE EXITING! WE WERE ABLE TO PULL OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, WE HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THIS OCCURRED IN NOV/DEC 2017. OVER A PERIOD OF ABOUT 4-6 WEEKS, THEY REPLACED THE PCM AND CAT CONVERTER (BOTH) AND ALTERNATOR. NOW 4.5 MONTHS LATER THE PROBLEM HAS RETURNED WITH STARTER CONSTANTLY TURNING OVER, ITS HAPPENED 2 DAYS IN A ROW NOW. WE HAVE TO TRAVEL DAILY 20 MILES EACH WAY DOWN THE I30 CORRIDOR IN THE DFW AREA . WE ARE AFRAID THAT THE CAR WILL JUST STALL GOING DOWN THE FREEWAY. ALL SIGNS POINT TO A TIPM PROBLEM, BUT THE DEALERSHIP IS UNWILLING TO REPLACE.
THE BATTERY GETS DRAIN OUT WITHOUT WARNING IT HAPPENS ONCE OR TWICE A MONTH LATELY IT'S HAPPENING MORE OFTEN, MY TRUCK WON'T START EVEN IF THE DAY BEFORE WAS RUNNING BATTERY WAS CHECK AND IT'S FINE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IT'S ON NOW ONCE THE TRUCK DIDN'T WANT TO TURN ON. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND HE SAID IT WAS A RELAY ISSUE. BRAKES ARE IN THE RECALL VIN CHECK LIST ALONG ONE OTHER RECALL. THE LIGHTS INSIDE TURN ON AND OFF AS WELL AS IF THERE IS A SHORT GOING ON WHILE IN DRIVING MODE IT FEELS LIKE THE TRUCK IS LOOSING POWER EVEN THOUGH IT HAS GAS. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE IT.

CAR WAS NOT EXPERIENCING ANY PROBLEMS. CRANKED IT TO GO TO WORK AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND THERE WAS A NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND FIRST TEST INDICATED A MISFIRE IN #5. CHANGED PLUGS AND FILTER. NO CHANGE IN CAR. BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND $150 DIAGNOSTIC TEST REVEALED BENT CAM SHAFT.
