FUEL PUMP CHECK VALVE IS BAD. VEHICLE WILL NOT START, IT WILL NOT AUTO START NOR START WITH BRAKE+START BUTTON. IN ORDER TO START VEHICLE IT MUST FIRST BE PUT IN ON MODE TO INITIATE PRESSURE BUILD PRESSURE IN ORDER TO THEN START THE VEHICLE. THERE ARE ONLY 90,234 MILES ON THE VEHICLE.
WHILE ENGINE RUNNING AND VEHICLE IN PARK THE DRIVER HEADREST ACTIVATED WITH A LOUD BANG STRIKING DRIVER IN BACK OF HEAD. ASIDE FROM A SORE NECK AND SLIGHT HEADACHE THE DRIVER WAS FINE. HOWEVER, IF THIS WAS TO HAPPEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN HIGHLY UNSAFE.
THE ACTIVE HEADREST RESTAINT DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON WHILE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN. LOOKS LIKE THE PLASTIC HOLDING THE PIN FAILED.
HEADREST DEPLOYED WITHOUT IMPACT - DEPLOYED WHILE VEHICLE RUNNING BUT IN PARK. LOUD POP AND SEAT HIT ME IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD.
WHILE DRIVING IN MOTION MY VEHICLE STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION, I THEN HAD TO COAST TO A STREET NEAR THE ROAD, TURN THE TRUCK OFF AND RESTART IT. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS PRESENT. IT THEN HAPPENED AGAIN NEAR MY HOME, THIS WAS NO LONGER THAN A 3 MINUTE TIME SPAN FROM THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED. WEVE HAD THIS HAPPEN AT RANDOM TIMES THROUGH OUT THE YEAR. WEVE HAD A FUEL PUMP RELAY REPLACED IN JANUARY OF 2020 WHICH IS 7 MONTHS AGO AND THE SAME ISSUE IS OCCURING AGAIN.
I AM FINANCING THIS VEHICLE AS OF 4 DAYS NOW, THERE ARE 2 OPEN RECALLS, 1. ALTERNATOR 2. FUEL PUMP RELAY (THAT HAS NOT BEEN SOLVED). MY PROBLEM IS MY DAILY DRIVER CAN STALL OUT AT ANY GIVING MOMENT!!! THAT CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO MYSELF AND/OR OTHERS. MY CAR WAS LEFT RUNNING (MAYBE 10 MINUTES TOPS) I PUT IT IN GEAR PULL AROUND MY AC GOES HOT, MY ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS FLASH ON MY DASHBOARD, I PULL OVER BEFORE GETTING ON THE MAIN ROAD, PLACE IT IN PARK AND TURN OFF THE VEHICLE, IT DID NOT TURN OVER NOR TURN IN THE IGNITION. I MAY BE OUT OF PLACE, BUT HOW CAN YOU CONTINUE TO SELL, IF RECALLS ARE NOT YET FIXED? I AM AFRAID TO GET ON THE HWY FOR WORK, I DRIVE 15MPH UNDER THE SPEED LIMIT. SINCERELY, A UPSET CUSTOMER
WHEN I FIRST STARTED MY CAR, I HEARD A WHINING NOISE THAT DIDN'T SOUND NORMAL, BUT WAS NOT OVERLY LOUD. ABOUT 5 MINUTES LATER (MAYBE LESS), AS I WAS TRAVELING DOWN A TOWN ROAD DOING 30MPH THE CAR SHUT OFF. MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM STILL WORKED AS THE RADIO AND AIR CONDITIONING WERE ON. I PULLED INTO A DRIVEWAY OF A BUSINESS (WITHOUT POWER STEERING) AND PARKED. I WAS GOING TO CHECK TO SEE IF EVERYTHING LOOKED NORMAL AND SEE IF MAYBE THE FUEL PUMP RELAY HAD AN ISSUE. MY FUEL PUMP RELAY HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN REPAIRED IN 2015 DUE TO NHTSA RECALL # 15V-115. HOWEVER, IN MAY 2019, THE CAR STOPPED RUNNING WHEN IT WAS DRIVING 70MPH DOWN AN INTERSTATE. I WAS INFORMED BY DODGE THAT THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER THE PREVIOUS RECALL FOR A SECOND TIME BECAUSE IT HAD EXPIRED AFTER 2 YEARS. IN NOVEMBER 2019, I RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR THE FUEL PUMP RELAY (NHTSA RECALL # 19V-813); HOWEVER, IT WAS INCOMPLETE BECAUSE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. WHEN I OPENED THE DOOR, I SMELLED BURNING RUBBER BUT DID NOT OBSERVE ANY SMOKE. AFTER I WAS ABLE TO POP THE HOOD, I SAW A SMALL FLAME IN THE AREA OF THE ALTERNATOR. I IMMEDIATELY GOT MY TWO CHILDREN (AGES 3 AND 6) OUT OF THE CAR AND CALLED 911. MY HUSBAND ARRIVED BEFORE THE FIRE TRUCK, BUT THE 911 OPERATOR TOLD US NOT TO TRY TO PUT OUT THE FIRE WITH THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER HE BROUGHT. THE CAR WAS A TOTAL LOSS BY THE TIME THE FIRE WAS PUT OUT BY FIREFIGHTERS. I'M JUST THANKFUL, FOR ONE, THAT MY CHILDREN AND I MADE IT SAFELY OUT OF THE CAR, AND FOR ANOTHER, THAT I DID NOT MAKE IT THE MILE AND A HALF LEFT TO HOME AND GET PARKED IN MY CARPORT BEFORE MY CAR CAUGHT FIRE. I WAS INFORMED OF NHTSA RECALL # 17V-435 RELATING TO ALTERNATOR FAILURE AND CAN'T HELP BUT WONDER, DUE TO THE LOCATION OF THE FLAME, IF MY VIN SHOULD'VE BEEN INCLUDED IN THAT RECALL, BUT WAS NOT.*DT*JB*DT*JB*DT*JB*DT*JB*DT *TR
THE PASSENGERS HEADREST WAS DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING. CAR WAS IN THE GARAGE WHEN THIS OCCURED. NO ONE WAS INJURED AND NO ACCIDENT OCCURED. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED BODILY DAMAGE IF PASSENGER WAS IN PLACE. DODGE HAS INFORMED US THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT BECAUSE THEY DISCONTINUED THIS PART. PASSENGER SEAT NO LONGER SAFE BECAUSE NO REPLACE IS AVAILABLE. HEADREST SHOULDN'T DEPLOY ON ITS OWN.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN MT HOME CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE (2800 AMERICAN LEGION BLVD, MOUNTAIN HOME, ID 83647, 208) 580-1000), WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE TIMING COVER TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN LARRY H. MILLER CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM BOISE LOCATED AT 222 S AUTO DR, BOISE, ID 83709, (208) 514-0835, WHERE IT WAS ALSO DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE TIMING COVER TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO LARRY H. MILLER CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM BOISE FOR A SECOND TIME TO BE MADE AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V813000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE AND WAS TAKEN BACK TO DEALER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD POPPING SOUND COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CONTINUED DRIVING TO HER RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT STATED WHEN EXITING THE VEHICLE, SHE BECAME AWARE THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE HEADREST WAS GAPED OPEN. THE CONTACT CALLED MARMIE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM LOCATED AT 1724 10TH ST, GREAT BEND, KS 67530, (620) 792-2571 AND MADE THE DEALER AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000.
ON AUGUST 1, 2020, THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT SPONTANEOUSLY DEPLOYED AND HIT THE PASSENGER (14 Y/O FEMALE) IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD. THE VEHICLE WAS IN DRIVE BUT WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME (IN A DRIVE-THROUGH LINE).
MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING AND THE HEADREST POPPED OPEN AS IF HE HAD AN ACCIDENT. HE WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF A CITY, STAYED IN ONE LANE. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT OR SUDDEN STOP OR ANYTHING SIMULATING AN IMPACT. THE HEADREST HIT MY DAUGHTER IN THE HEAD CAUSING A HEADACHE.
THE ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DEPLOYED SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING. WE WERE TRAVELING ON A CITY STREET AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH. THE PASSENGER WAS HIT ON THE BACK OF THE HEAD AND HAD A SEVERE HEADACHE. THERE WAS NO NOR HAS THERE BEEN ANY REAR COLLISION. AFTER EXAMINING THE INSIDE OF THE RESTRAINT I COULD SEE BROKEN PIECES OF PLASTIC THAT APPEARED TO HAD BEEN KEEPING IT TOGETHER.
WHEN DRIVING THE CAR JUST SHUTS DOWN THE STEERING WHEEL GETS REALLY HARD AND POWERS OFF THE WHOLE CAR,IT HAPPENES A COUPLE OF TIMES BUT THE WORST ONE I WAS GOING 50MILES IN A BUSY STREET AND THIS HAPPENED ALMOST HAD A CAR ACCIDENT,THIS IS CONSTANTLY HAPPENING EVERYDAY SHE IS MY DAILY DRIVER AND I DRIVE SCARED ALL THE TIME .
I WAS PARK IN MY DRIVEWAY IN PARK GETTING READY TO GO. WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY PASSENGER SIDE HEADREST BURST OPEN. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS ON THE SEAT AT THE TIME. BUT I BELIEVE WITH THE FORCE IT CAM OUT IT COULD HAD GIVING SOME ONE A CONCUSSION. I WOULD HAVE HATE UT IF ONE OF MY KIDS WAS THERE WHEN IT BURST OPEN.
ON JULY 10, 2020, WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH ON A STRAIGHT HIGHWAY, MY DRIVER SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED INTO THE BACK OF MY HEAD CAUSING A SEVERE HEADACHE. I WAS NOT INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. IT JUST RANDOMLY DEPLOYED. I HAVE SINCE RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT THIS IS NOT THE FIRST INCIDENT AND THAT THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL ISSUED FOR IT. I AM NOW FORCED TO PAY FOR A REPAIR THAT IS CAUSED BY A FAULTY PIECE OF EQUIPMENT. IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE PASSENGER HEADREST DOES THE SAME. I HAVE THREE TEENAGERS, AND I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN TO THEM AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.*DT*JB
DURANGO HAS STALLED AT HIGH SPEEDS. WHILE SLOWING DOWN AT LOWER SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WILL, ON OCCASION, START TO STALL AS IT SORT OF RUMBLES AND SHAKES. NOW THE DURANGO WILL NOT START. ALL SYMPTOMS SEEM TO ALIGN WITH KNOWN RECALL ISSUES, HOWEVER, RECALL REPAIR IS NOT YET AVAILABLE. HAS BEEN SYMPTOMATIC SINCE APRIL 2019 UNTIL PRESENT. I HAVE TAKEN THIS PROBLEM TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. THEY ARE UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE BUT WERE ABLE TO RUN UP A BILL OF $3000 FOR ITEMS THAT DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AND WORRY ABOUT HAVING A TOTAL POWER FAILURE WHILE AT HIGH SPEED.
THE PASSENGER HEADREST DEPLOYED WITH ACCIDENT. NOBODY WAS IN THE VEHICLE WHEN IT DEPLOYED, IT WAS PARKED. IT WAS IMMEDIATELY NOTICED WHEN A PASSENGER ATTEMPTED TO REENTER THE VEHICLE AND COULD NOT SIT PROPERLY.
PASSENGER HEADREST DEPLOYED ON ITS OWN HITTING PASSENGER IN HEAD. HEADREST NOW WILL NOT CLOSE AND APPEARS TO HAVE BROKEN PLASTIC PIECES INSIDE, CAUSING IT TO REMAIN AT AN ODD ANGLE. VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT TIME OF DEPLOYMENT. *TR

WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE STALLED ON THE FREEWAY. HAD NO CONTROL OF STEERING OR BRAKES. SOME HOW I PULLED OVER SAFELY BUT HAD TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND START THE VEHICLE UP AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN ONCE AND LATELY IT?S HAPPENING MORE AND MORE. I'VE LOOKED UP MY VIN # ON THIS WEBSITE BUT STILL NO RECALL ON THE ISSUE. *TR
A SAFETY RECALL, NHTSA 19V-813, WAS ISSUED IN NOVEMBER 2019 AND IT IS JUNE 2020. SPEAKING WITH A DODGE RECALL REP TODAY, THEY DON'T KNOW WHEN IT WILL BE AVAILABLE. WHEN I QUOTED THEIR WEBSITE THAT INDICATED THE OWNER WILL BE PROVIDED AN INTERIM REPAIR, THE REP INFORMED THAT I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED SO THAT THEY COULD ESCALATE IT BUT STILL DIDN'T COULDN'T TELL ME IF I WOULD RECEIVE AN INTERIM REPAIR AND WHAT THAT MIGHT BE. ON TOP OF THAT, I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE DIAGNOSIS TO ESCALATE IT FOR A KNOWN RECALL. THIS VEHICLE STALLS AND SHUTS DOWN AT ANY SPEED OR WHEN I HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD. *TR
RECALL V62 HAS BEEN PARTIALLY REPAIRED TWICE. MY VEHICLE CONTINUES TO SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING- ALWAYS WHEN I AM GOING DOWN THE ROAD WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF- I LOSE POWER STEERING AND HAVE TO HOPE THAT IT DOESN'T CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I PURCHASED A 2013 DODGE DURANGO FROM NEW SMYRNA BEACH CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP AT THE END OF JULY 2018. THE MORNING AFTER WE PURCHASED IT THE CAR WASN'T ACTING RIGHT AND WOULDN'T START. AFTER HAVING MY VEHICLE UP THERE UNTIL THE END OF AUGUST THEY FINALLY REPLACE THE FUEL RELAY PUMP. I GOT A LETTER SAYING THAT THERE'S A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE AND THE PART THAT WAS PUT IN WAS A PART OF THE RECALL. MY VEHICLE STARTED ACTING FUNNY AND DOING THE SAME THINGS THAT IT DID LESS THAN TWO YEARS AGO. IT'S BEEN STRUGGLING TO START AND I HAVE VIDEO OF IT FROM LESS THAN TWO YEARS AGO AND NOW DOING THE SAME THING. I HAD MY VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT MY BATTERY WAS DEAD AND THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING UNTIL I REPLACED IT. MY BATTERY WAS NOT DEAD WHEN I LEFT MY HOUSE AND THIS IS WHAT THE RECALL DOES IT DRAINS THE BATTERY. I WAS ALMOST IN AN ACCIDENT LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AGO WHEN MY CAR STALLED WHILE I WAS DRIVING HOME WITH MY FOUR CHILDREN IN THE CAR. THE DEALERSHIP MADE ME PURCHASE A NEW BATTERY AND ARE ASKING ME TO GET AN AUTHORIZATION FROM CHRYSLER TO COVER THE CHARGE AND THE PART OF I HAVE TO NOW PAY FOR THAT TOO. I LOOKED MY CAR UP AND IT'S SHOWING OTHER RECALLS AS WELL. I REACHED OUT TO GIBS LAW FIRM BECAUSE THEY HAVE A HUGE CLASS ACTION SUIT BECAUSE OF MY SAME ISSUE. MY FAMILY IS STRUGGLING AND MY HUSBAND IS MISSING WORK BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE OUR VEHICLE. *TR

MY CAR OFTEN LOSES POWER, THIS IS DUE TO A FUSE/RELAY TO THE FUEL PUMP. THIS WAS A RECALL ITEM, THAT CONTINUES TO FAIL, WHILE I AM ON THE HIGHWAY, CITY STREETS, AND OTHER TRICKY LOCATIONS, SOMETIMES EVEN IN A PARKING LOT. THIS HAS BEEN A RECALL INCOMPLETE, REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE SINCE NOVEMBER 2019. I CONTINUE TO BUY THE REPLACEMENT PART TO REPAIR MY CAR, WITH NO REIMBURSEMENT FROM DODGE. I HAVE HAD MY CAR INTO DODGE 2 TIME FOR THEM TO REPAIR, I HAVE PURCHASED 2 ADDITIONAL AND PURCHASED AT LEAST 9 ADDITIONAL RELAY SWITCHES FROM AMAZON. SO THIS IS FAILS QUITE OFTEN, 13 RELAY SWITCHES. PART NUMBER IS 5600 7080 AB. I NEED A FIX SOON. *TR

THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V813000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.

CAR WILL NOT START. CAR TURNS OVER BUT WILL NOT RUN . RECALL WAS LOOKED AT AND TEMPORARY FIXED ON 9/1/15 IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP RELAY . ON 6/18/2019 IT WAS FIXED AGAIN . IT WAS ALSO FIXED ONE TIME BEFORE THIS DATE ( I DO NOT HAVE THAT DATE) TODAY IS 4/10/2020 IT TOOK 5 TRIES TO START THE CAR THIS MORNING . DODGE CLAIMS THEY DO NOT HAVE A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM YET . CAR SHUT OFF IN MIDDLE OF ROAD WHILE DRIVING. I WAS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. LUCKILY, I WAS ON A SECONDARY ROAD AND NOT ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY AS I NORMALLY AM. THIS VEHICLE HAS CONSISTENTLY GIVEN ME PROBLEMS WITH STALLING. YEAR AFTER YEAR WITH THIS VEHICLE AND I'M TO THE POINT TO WHERE I CAN BARELY DRIVE IT YET STILL HAVE TO PAY PAYMENT AFTER PAYMENT WHILE FEARING FOR MINE AND MY CHILDREN'S SAFETY IN IT. THIS ENGINE (V6 PENTASTAR 3.6) IS TAPPING. IT SEEMS TO BE COMMON PROBLEM AMONG CHRYSLER JEEP AND DODGE. CHRYSLER STATES THAT THE ENGINE LIFTS AND ROCKERS ARE CULPRIT AND REPAIRS HAVE BEEN DONE ON SOME CHRYSLER AND JEEP MODELS WITH THIS SAME ENGINE BUT DODGE WILL NOT REPAIR OR COMPENSATE FOR THE FAULTY PARTS ON THIS ENGINE BY THE MAKER. THIS IS A FLAW IN THE ENGINE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION, THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE REPAIRED BY MAKER AND NOT PASSED ON TO THE CONSUMER. THE ALTERNATOR ON MY VEHICLE WAS ON RECALL SINCE AUGUST OF 2017. ON NOVEMBER 2017 THE CAR SHUT OFF BUT WHEN I TOOK IT TO A DODGE DEALERSHIP THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. I EVEN TOOK IT BACK TO THE PLACE WHERE I BOUGHT IT AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT BUT IT LATER STARTER WORKING AGAIN. 2 WEEKS AGO MY CAR STOPPED WORKING AGAIN AND SMOKE STARTED COMING OUT FROM WHERE THE ALTERNATOR IS LOCATED. I TOOK IT TO 2 DIFFERENT SHOPS IN TOWN AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE ALTERNATOR BUT THEN WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP THAT'S WHEN THEY TOLD ME THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS ON A RECALL OUT THAT THE PCM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THEY NOW WANT ME TO PAY FOR THIS DAMAGE THAT WAS CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE PART. THEY ARE SAYING THAT IT IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY BUT HOW CAN THEY ONLY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEFECTIVE PART AND NOT THE DAMAGE THAT IT WAS CAUSED BY IT?
