TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT NOTICED WHEN IT RAINED THAT THE TAIL LIGHTS SHORTED OUT WITHOUT WARNING. ALL-STAR DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (2590 RANGE PARK DR, DENHAM SPRINGS, LA 70726, (225) 665-8266) WAS CONTACTED, BUT DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO REMEDY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 105,000.
THE REAR TAILGATE LIGHT IS FILLING WITH WATER . AFTER A RAIN STORM OR CAR WASH THE LEFT SIDE OF THE LIGHT HAS WATER BUILD UP , I'M WORRIED THAT IT WILL BE A SAFETY ISSUE, AS PART OF THE LIGHT DOES NOT ILLUMINATE.
WHILE DRIVING AT APPROX. 40 MILES PER HOUR, THE DRIVERS SIDE HEAD REST EXPLODED CAUSING MY HEAD TO MOVE SLAM FORWARD. I THOUGH SOMEONE HAD HIT ME FROM BEHIND BUT LOOKED AND THERE WAS NO ONE THERE. PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO FIND THE HEAD REST APART. I CONTACTED A LOCAL DEALER AND THEY ASKED IF I RAN INTO A CURB, HIT A LARGE BUMP OR WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AND WAS SORRY TO HEAR THAT HAPPENED. AFTER RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET, THERE ARE SEVERAL REPORTS OF THESE HEADREST EXPLODING RANDOMLY ON SEVERAL DODGE MODELS SPECIFICALLY THE DURANGO. MY VEHICLE IS A 2014 WITH 29K MILES ON IT, NEVER IN AN ACCIDENT AND BARELY DRIVEN.
THE FRONT PASSANGER SIDE HEADREST COMPLETELY BECAME UNDONE WITH SUCH FORCE THAT IT PUSHED THE BACK OF MY HEAD FORWARD WHILE WE WERE DRIVING TO OUR DESTINATION. FELT LIKE SOME ONE PUNCHED ME IN THE BACK OF MY HEAD WITH SUCH FORCE THAT IF I WAS THE PERSON DRIVING, IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN MAJOR ACCIDENT. WE WERE ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY (TURNPIKE) GOING ABOUT 70 MPH AND I'M GLAD THAT IT WAS NOT THE DRIVER'S SIDE.IT STARTLED ME AND MY WIFE AS WELL IT COMPLETELY UNEXPECTED.NOW THE QUESTION IS THAT IF THIS HAPPENED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, ITS JUST A MATTER OF TIME THAT IT CAN HAPPEN ON THE DRIVERS SIDE??? THIS HEADREAST LOOKS LIKE ITS SPRINLOADED AND THE PIN THAT HOLDS THIS HEADREST TOGETHER FAILED. THE UNIT IS BROKEN AND THE PLASTIC HOUSING INSIDE THE HEADREST THAT HOLDS THE PIN IS BROKEN AS WELL. PLEASE THIS NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT AS IT IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN BECAUSE IT JUST CAN HAPPEN AT ANY TIME AND IT WOULD BE UNFORTUNATE FOR ANYONE TO GET HURT IF THEY ARE DRIVING DURING THE DAY OR ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT TIME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE DURANGO. AFTER STOPPING THE VEHICLE AND SWITCHING THE TRANSMISSION TO THE PARK POSITION, THE CONTACT STEPPED OUT OF THE VEHICLE AS IT ERRONEOUSLY ROLLED BACKWARDS. AS A RESULT, THE OPEN DRIVER DOOR STRUCK A WOODEN GATE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO GET BACK INTO THE ROLLING VEHICLE AND DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE MINOR INJURIES. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000. *TT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WITH THE IGNITION IN THE ON POSITION, THE VEHICLE ROLLED AWAY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE ROLLED ONTO THE NEIGHBOR'S FARM. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE OR INJURIES. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BLAISE ALEXANDER CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE (1080 E COLLEGE AVE, STATE COLLEGE, PA 16801, 814-234-4321) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROMISED TO CALL BACK; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT DID NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. ALTERNATOR RECALL WAS NOT COMPLETED BY DODGE SERVICE BUT WAS DOCUMENTED THAT IT WAS CHANGED AND LATER GAVE ISSUES THAT COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS. DETAILS ARE IN FILE ATTACHED
2 WEEKS AGO MY STEERING WENT OUT. MY MECHANIC SAYS THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING IS FAULTY AND THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER AND NO ONE CAN TELL HIM WHEN IT MIGHT BE AVAILABLE BUT THE MANUFACTURER DID TELL HIM THAT THERE ARE 160 CUSTOMERS WAITING ON THIS PART. I AM CURRENTLY WITHOUT A VEHICLE DUE TO THIS, AS ARE THE OTHER 159 CUSTOMERS WAITING.
RACE TRACK TAIL GATE LED LIGHT IS FILLED WITH WATER CAUSING THE LIGHTS TO FAIL. VEHICLE HAS 30,000 MILES AND IS GARAGED. WATER FILLS TAIL GATE LIGHT WHEN IT RAINS OR THROUGH CAR WASH. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE LIGHTS AND SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A SAFETY HAZARD. CT DEALERS ARE ASKING $1,120 TO REPLACE ASSEMBLY WITH THE CAMERA.
WITHOUT WARNING, THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT SEAT ACTIVE HEAD REST DEPLOYED WITHOUT CAUSE OR CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT MOVING, WE WERE JUST GETTING INSIDE. THE PASSENGER SIDE HEAD REST TETHERED TO THE SEAT SUDDENLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY DEPLOYED CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE HEAD REST. NO VISIBLE DAMAGE IS APPARENT TO THE VEHICLE ITSELF (CRASH), AND NO VISIBLE CODES OR WARNING LIGHTS (I.E. AIRBAG LIGHT) ARE DISPLAYED. THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT.
WATER IS COLLECTING IN THE LEFT SIDE OF MY RACETRACK LIGHT ON MY 2014 DODGE DURANGO. THE DEALERSHIP AND DODGE AS A WHOLE HAS CONTINUED TO BLOW ME OFF FOR SOMETHING THAT IS A NATIONALLY KNOWN DEFECT.
DRIVING 65 MPH DOWN I10 IN HOUSTON TX THE HEADREST POPPED OPEN FOR NO GIVEN REASON.
THE GPS SYSTEM ON MY VEHICLE PROVIDES INACCURATE INFORMATION THAT MAY CAUSE ACCIDENTS EASILY. I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY RADIO/COMPUTER UNIT IT WILL STATE IM IN DIFFERENT LOCATION OR IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE IT WILL DIRECT ME TO TURN IN PLACES THERE IS NO ROAD. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE AS I USE MY NAVIGATION A LOT NOW I HAVE TO USE MY PHONE AS IM SCARRED TO USE THIS UNIT. SOMETIMES IT WILL JUST NOT TURN ON WHEN I START THE VEHICLE. THE SCREEN WILL SOMETIMES PP UP A MESSAGE THAT STATES MY VEHICLE PHONE NEEDS ASSISTANCE CONTACT DEALER BUT WE ALL KNOW THE DEALERS SUCK AS I HAVE WENT IN 3 TIMES NOW JUST TO TALK TO SOMEONE TO FIND OUT WHAT THE ISSUE IS AND THEY JUST TELL ME ITS DIFFERENT ISSUES AND GET THE RUN AROUND FOR IT TO NOT BE FIXED. NOT SURE ON EXACT TIME BUT AROUND JUNE STARTED NOTICING THE ISSUE.
THERE IS WATER BUILD UP IN MY LIFTGATE REAR TAIL LIGHTS. IT CAUSED MY LIGHT TO GO OUT AND BURN OUT.
I HAVE 2 ACTIVE RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE, THEY ARE T59, BRAKE BOOSTER WATER SHIELD MAY HAVE BEEN INCORRECTLY INSTALLED, AND P67, OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROL (ORC) MODULE MAY DEVELOP AN INTERNAL FAULT. I HAVE 1 ACTIVE CAMPAIGN ON THIS VEHICLE, IT IS U06, AUTOPARK FUNCTIONALITY. I JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ON JUNE 23RD, 2018 AT PERFORMANCE DODGE LA VISTA, NEBRASKA. I WAS INFORMED BY THE PERFORMANCE DODGE LA VISTA, NEBRASKA SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT THE RECALLS WERE PERFORMED, AND NOT REPORTED, DUE TO LACK OF PERSONNEL IN THE RECALLS REPORTING DEPARTMENT. MEANWHILE, I DRIVE A NEW/USED VEHICLE, WONDERING IF THE DEALERSHIP ACTUALLY ADDRESSED THE OPEN RECALLS, AND CAMPAIGN ON MY VEHICLE, WITH MY SAFETY AT RISK. THIS IS HIGHLY UNACCEPTABLE, IT IS NOW SEPTEMBER 16TH, 2018, AND THE RECALLS, AND CAMPAIGN ARE STILL OUTSTANDING ON MY VEHICLE. I AM LOOKING TO YOU FOR ASSISTANCE IN THIS MATTER. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT THE DRIVER SIDE HEAD REST AIRBAG DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED NO IMPACT EVENT OCCURRED AND THE BAG JUST DEPLOYED. DEALER ALSO SAID IT WAS NOT A WARRANTY COVERED ITEM AND WOULD NOT REPLACE/REPAIR AT NOT COST. ON THE DAY THE BAG DEPLOYED IT WAS A HOT SUNNY DAY.
DRIVING ON A 45MPH CITY ROAD. I WAS A PASSENGER, HUSBAND WAS DRIVING AND I HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND FELT SOMETHING HIT ME IN BACK OF HEAD. THOUGHT WE WERE HIT BY ANOTHER CAR BUT WE WERE NOT, WE WERE STILL DRIVING AT SAME SPEED. MY HEADREST HAD EJECTED FOR NO REASON AND HIT ME ON BACK OF HEAD AND NECK.
I HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH MY DODGE FOR 2 PLUS YEAR. I WILL GO TO FILL UP MY GAS TANK AND AFTER A FEW MINUTES GAS STARTS FLOWING BACK OUT OF THE TANK. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES FOR REPAIR. THE FIRST TWO TIMES THEY HAVE TOLD ME THEY REPLACED SENSORS, WELL IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN. NOW THEY ARE TELLING ME THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM, TANK AND ALL. THEY HAVE STATED THAT MY CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND THE DEALER WILL NOT GIVE IT BACK TO ME TO DRIVE BECAUSE IT IS COMPLETELY CONTAMINATED AND THE ENTIRE CANISTER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED . THEY ARE WAITING ON THE PART TO COME IN BUT THAT WILL NOT BE TILL MID JULY BECAUSE THEY HAVE 4200 ON BACKORDER. THIS IS CLEARLY A MAJOR ISSUE WITH DODGE DURANGO AND NO ONE AT THE DEALERSHIP OR CHRYSLER IS TRYING TO HELP FIX THIS ISSUE. IT NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT! WHILE DRIVING I WOULD HAVE A LARGE SMELL OF GAS IN MY CAR AND IT WOULD JUST CUT OFF AND NOT START BACK UP.

MY REAR RACETRACK LIGHT STARTED FILLING WITH WATER. SHORTLY AFTER THE RIGHT SIDE WENT OUT. CALLED MY LOCAL DODGE DEALER AND WAS TOLD I'D HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE PIECE WHICH IS $800.00+. THIS IS RIDICULOUS TO HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE THING. SOUNDS LIKE A DESIGN FLAW TO ME. AND WHEN I RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE; IT SEEMS TO BE A REGULAR THING FOR DURANGO OWNERS. WISH MOPAR/DODGE WOULD OFFER SOME ASSISTANCE WITH THIS PROBLEM.
DRIVERS SIDE HEAD RESTRAINT FUNCTIONED /DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON, CAUSING A BLOW TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD, HURTING AND DISORIENTING THE DRIVER WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION,
THE TOUCH SCREEN WORKS PART OF THE TIME AND OTHER TIMES NOT. ALSO AIR WORKS SOMETIMES AND NOT OTHER TIMES, SOMETIMES HALF THE CAR IS COLD WHILE AT THE SAME TEMP THE OTHER HALF OF THE CAR IS HOT AIR FROM THE VENT. ALSO THE SEAT SET UP DOES NOT KEEP SETTINGS.
WATER/CONDENSATION HAS ENTERED THE RACETRACK LIGHTING ON MY DURANGO. ITS CURRENTLY THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE. THE CONDENSATION/WATER HAS CAUSED MY REAR LIGHTING TO NOT WORK AND HAS BEGUN RUSTING IN THE AREA. SAFETY CONCERNS ARE INEFFECTIVE, DISABLED LIGHTING NECESSARY FOR DRIVING AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. SIMILAR SAFETY CONCERNS HAVE BEEN NOTED BY OTHER OWNERS OF THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE
THE ENTIRE BRAKE LIGHT (PANELS) HAD WATER LEAK IN THEM CAUSING WATER TO BACK UP IN PLASTIC COVER SHORTING OUT THE BREAK LIGHTS AND CAUSING CONDENSATION ON THE REST OF THE BRAKE PANELS. THIS HAPPENS WHEN IT RAINS OR CAR IS GETTING WASHED OR ANY TIME WATER TOUCHES BACK BRAKE LIGHTS.
ON MAY 31, 2018 WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE IN THE RAIN, MY FRONT LEFT MOLDING WHEEL FLARE FLEW OFF OF MY 2014 DODGE DURANGO. THERE WERE NO HAZARDS IN THE ROADWAY AND I DID NOT HIT ANYTHING THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED IT TO FLY OFF. THERE HAD ALSO BEEN NO PREVIOUS SIGNS THAT IT WAS LOSE OR ABOUT TO COME OFF, IT JUST SIMPLY FLEW OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE AFTERWARDS ALSO DID NOT INDICATE ANY DAMAGE TO THE WHEEL HUB AREA THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE WHEEL FLARE TO DETACH.
REPEATED FAILURE/THUNKING OF THE REAR SELF-LEVELING SHOCK SYSTEM AND MOUNTS

AIR BAG SYSTEM LIGHT ON AND DEALER SAYS WIRING HARNESS FOR AIRBAG NEEDS REPLACEMENT. ISSUE IS NON AVAILABLE AND NO IDEA OF WHEN THEY WOULD GET IT AS ALL ARE ON BACK ORDER WITH NO GET WELL DATE.
I NOTICED RECENTLY THAT CONDENSATION WAS ACCUMULATED IN THE REAR RACING TAIL LIGHT ON THE BACK HATCH OF THE TRUCK. I THEN NOTICED APPROXIMATELY 1" OF WATER BUILD UP THAT COLLECTED INTO THE BOTTOM OF THE SAME RACING STRIP TAIL LIGHT ON THE REAR OF THE HATCH. I RESEARCHED THIS ONLINE TO SEE IF IT WAS A COMMON ISSUE AND THERE IS SEVERAL REPORTS OF THE SAME ISSUE. THERE IS ALSO YOUTUBE.COM VIDEOS EXPLAINING HOW TO DRAIN THE LIGHT. I CALLED DODGE YESTERDAY AFTER DRAINING THE LIGHT (I HAVE A VIDEO), THEY STATED THAT COULD NOT HELP ME BECAUSE THE VEHICLE JUST WENT OUT OF WARRANTY. THE SOLUTION WOULD BE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE LIGHT COSTING AROUND $1000-$ 1200.00. THEY ADVISED ME TO MAKE A COMPLAINT WITH THE NHTSA TO SEE IF A RECALL COULD BE ISSUED. THE CONTACT DROVE HOME, INSPECTED THE VEHICLE, AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE WATER PUMP FAILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WATER PUMP FAILED DUE TO DEFECTIVE MATERIALS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
THE REAR TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY FILLS UP WITH WATER, EVENTUALLY CAUSING THE REAR TAIL LIGHTS TO DIM OR STOP WORKING. SAFETY ISSUE.
THE REAR HATCH TAILLIGHT/BRAKE LIGHT ASSEMBLY, ALSO KNOWN AS THE "RACE TRACK" LIGHT, COLLECTS WATER SOMEHOW INSIDE OF THE ASSEMBLY. I HAVE FOUND WATER INSIDE OF THE ASSEMBLY AFTER ANY VOLUME OF RAIN, BE IT A DRIZZLE OR A DOWNPOUR, AND AFTER ANY LENGTH OF CARWASHING. I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT A SMALL BIT OF WATER EITHER. DUE TO THE WATER ACCUMULATION IN THE ASSEMBLY, PART OF THE LED ASSEMBLY HAS NOW GONE DARK. DUE TO THE SHAPE OF THE LIGHT THE WATER ACCUMULATES IN THE BOTTOM CORNERS OF THE LIGHT AND JUST SITS THERE UNTIL A BRIGHT SUNNY DAY COMES ALONG TO EVAPORATE THE WATER. WHICH STILL LEAVES A LARGE AMOUNT OF CONDENSATION INSIDE OF THE ASSEMBLY. SO IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY GOES DARK AND QUITS WORKING, THAT'S THE BEST CASE SCENARIO. I HAVE READ ON EVERY MOPAR, DODGE, AND DURANGO SPECIFIC COMMUNITY FORUMS AND MESSAGE BOARDS THAT THIS IS NOT A ONE OFF ISSUE. IT SEEMS THAT 90% OF DURANGO'S WITH THIS LIGHT ASSEMBLY HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. WITH SOME CASES REPORTING VISIBLE SMOKE COMING FROM THE ASSEMBLY DUE TO A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE FROM EXTENDED WATER DAMAGE, COMPLETE LIGHT FAILURE, AND MANY OTHER ISSUES CAUSED BY SHOTTY MANUFACTURING. TO HAVE THE ASSEMBLY REPLACED IS NO CHEAP VENTURE. THE LIGHT ASSEMBLY ALONE RUNS AROUND $500 OR MORE, DEPENDING ON THE CONDITION, PLUS I'M FIGURING ANOTHER $300 TO $600 IN LABOR COST ON TOP OF THE PART COST. THIS SITUATION HAS NUMEROUS SAFTEY CONCERNS FROM NO VISIBILITY AT NIGHT FOR THE DRIVER'S BEHIND TO A SERIOUS FIRE HAZARD WITH ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT CONSTANTLY IN WATER. I HOPE THIS ISSUE IS REMEDIED BEFORE MY VEHICAL OR ANYONE ELSE'S VEHICAL HAS MELTING TAILLIGHTS OR ANOTHER VEHICAL WEDGED IN THE REAR FROM MY REAR LIGHTS BURNING OUT. PLEASE RESEARCH ALL THE FORUMS OUT THERE.
WITHOUT WARNING MY PASSENGER SIDE HEADREST POPPED OPEN. DON'T KNOW EXACTLY WHEN IT HAPPENED AS MOST OF THE TIME THERE IS NO ONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. NOT INVOLVED IN ANY ACCIDENTS. HEADSET JUST POPPED OPEN AND IS STUCK.

VEHICLE PARKED OVERNIGHT. UPON ENTERING THE DRIVERS HEADREST WAS NOTED TO BE EXPLODED OPEN AS THE PLASTIC MOUNTS HOLDING THE PIN KEEPING THE ACTIVE RESTRAINT CLOSED HAD DISINTEGRATED. IF CAR HAD BEEN UNDERWAY THIS MIGHT HAVE BEEN LETHAL..
SAME DEFECT STATED BY NUMEROUS DRIVERS. AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE LIGHT ILLUMINATING AND DISABLING AIR BAG SYSTEM INTERMITTENTLY. DODGE DEALER SAYS MY VEHICLE IS NOT PART OF RECALL. SAME AIR BAG SYSTEM, SAME FAILURE, BUT NOT PART OF RECALL P67? OCCURS WHILE IN MOTION, NOT IN MOTION, RANDOM TIMES. ALL TYPES OF DRIVING.
I HAVE WATER POOLING IN THE REAR TAIL LIGHT TRACK WHENEVER IT RAINS. THIS REDUCES LIGHT VISIBILITY, AND I'M ASSUMING WILL EVENTUALLY SHORT OUT THE ELECTRICS IN THE LIGHTS.
WATER EASILY FILLS THE BACK TAIL LIGHT AND STARTS TO CRACK. THE LIGHTS ARE VERY EXPENSIVE AND NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND IT SEEMS AS THOUGH IT'S A COMMON PROBLEM WITH NO POINT TO PAY THE MONEY TO REPLACE SINCE IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. THE HEADLIGHTS SEEM TO ALSO GET WATER IN THEM. THE LIGHTBULBS BURN OUT QUICKLY AND NEED TO BE REPLACED THIS IS A MASSIVE SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED
THE HATCHBACK TAIL LIGHT WENT OUT BECAUSE WATER GETS INSIDE AND DOESN'T DRAIN. THE WHOLE BACK BRAKE LIGHT HAS CONDENSATION. THE BOTTOM LEFT PART OF LIGHT WENT OUT (SHORTED), BUT IN TIME THE WHOLE BRAKE LIGHT ASSEMBLY WILL GO OUT. THIS WILL BE A SAFETY HAZZARD AND DODGE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE IF IT IS NOT FIXED BY RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER. AFTER ATTEMPTING THREE TIMES TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, IT FINALLY STARTED AND WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE BEGAN APPROXIMATELY TWO AND A HALF MONTHS AGO. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AS A POSSIBLE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,326. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I WAS DRIVING 40-50 MPH ON HWY 146 NEAR KEMAH, TX. SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT WARNING THE DRIVER SEAT HEADREST ROSE UP SEVERAL INCHES AND THE FRONT OF THE HEADREST SHOT OUT AND HIT ME IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD.
THE WHOLE TAILLIGHT THAT GOES ACROSS THE BACK OF THE TRUNK IS GETTING WATER INSIDE OF IT. THERE'S A POOL OF WATER ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE.
WATER LEAKED INTO THE REAR "RACE TRACK" LIGHT ASSEMBLY THAT IS ON THE REAR LIFT DOOR. A SECTION OF THE LIGHTING NO LONGER WORKS. NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. BELIEVE IT HAS BEEN LEAKING IN SLOWLY OVER TIME.
WATER COLLECTING IN INNER (RACING) TAIL LIGHT CAUSING BULBS NOT TO WORK. TAIL LIGHT IS ACROSS THE TAILGATE THAT OPENS TO GET ACCESS TO THE REAR CARGO AREA.
REAR BACK END LIGHTING IS NOT WORKING WHICH IS DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. DEALER WANTS OVER $1200 JUST FOR THE PART AND EVEN WITH A CHRYSLER LIFETIME WARRANTY IT WILL NOT BE COVERED EVEN THOUGH IT IS A COVERED PART. THERE IS NO DAMAGE, IT IS JUST NOT WORKING AND IS COST PROHIBITIVE TO FIX EVEN THOUGHT THE PART IS COVERED BY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I'M AFRAID I'M GOING TO BE HIT FROM THE REAR END AT NIGHT.
WATER COLLECTS INSIDE THE TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY WHENEVER I DRIVE IN RAIN OR GO THROUGH AN AUTOMATIC CAR WASH. RECENTLY I NOTICED THERE WAS SEVERAL OUNCES STUCK INSIDE THE ASSEMBLY ON BOTH SIDES OF THE TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY MOUNTED ON THE TAILLIGHT AND PART OF THE LED LIGHT "TRACK" IS OUT. I REMOVED 2 BOLTS THAT ATTACH THE LIGHT AND WATER POURED OUT FOR ABOUT 20 SECONDS. I AM CONCERNED THIS WILL PROGRESS AND MORE OF THE TAIL LIGHT WILL GO OUT. THE LED LIGHTING IS NO USER REPLACEABLE.
THE DURANGO'S REAR RACE TRACK TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLE FILLS WITH WATER CAUSING A SHORT. VEHICLE HAS FAILED A PA SAFETY INSPECTION DUE TO THE HAZARD.

THE WATER IS GETTING INTO THE RACETRACK LIGHTS ON THE LIFT GATE. THE MAJORITY OF THE LIGHTS IN THE BACK OF VEHICLE IS THE RACETRACK LIGHTS ON THE LIFT GATE.
