THE RACETRACK TAIL LIGHT WILL FILL WITH WATER DURING A RAIN STORM CAUSING THE REAR RUNNING LIGHT TO GO OUT. THIS COULD POSE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE IF THE RUNNING LIGHTS GO OUT AT NIGHT. I STARTED NOTICING THIS PROBLEM ON OR AROUND 4/12019 AND HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE. DOING RESEARCH HAS LEAD ME TO SEVERAL POSTS ON THE INTERNET WITH OTHERS HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. CHEXK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON AND OFF FOR THE PAST FEW DAYS. GOT IT SCANNED AND THE CODE THE COMES UP IS A P052 - FAULTY OUL PRESSURE SENSOR. AFTER SOME RESEARCH I FOUND THERE ARE QUITE A FEW OTHER MODELS EFFECTED BY THIS ISSUE BUT ONLY CERTAIN ONES ARE BEING REPAIRED WITHOUT COST TO CUSTOMER. ON MY DASH THE OIL PREASURE READS AT 85%-100% AT IDLE AND STAYS AT 100% WHEN GIVING IT GAS.
DRIVER HEADREST DEPLOYED BY ITSELF WITH NO REASON, STARTING THE VEHICLE HEADREST DEPLOYED
3RD GENERATION DODGE DURANGO, 2014 WITH THE TRACK TAIL LIGHTS, WATER FROM EITHER RAIN OR MOISTURE GET INTO THE DRIVERS REAR TAIL LIGHT CAUSING IT TO NOT WORK. IVE BEEN STOPPED SEVERAL TIME BY THE POLICE. IN 2015 AFTER DRIVING THE CAR FOR 1 TR THE LIGHT WENT OUT AND THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED IT UNDER WARRANTY, IN 2017 THE LIGHT WENT OUT AGAIN AND THE CAR IN NOW OUT OF WARANTY AND THE COST TO REPLACE IT IS $485.00 +/- . 2019 AND IT WENT OUT AGAIN AND AFTER TELLING THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE DEFECTIVE LIGHT THEY WILL NOT CHANGE IT AS CHRYSLER SAYS ITS NOT COVERED EVEN THO THEY KNOW ITS DEFICTIVE .
REAR LIGHTING WILL ACCUMULATE MOISTURE INSIDE HOUSING EVENTUALLY BURNING OUT LED ELEMENTS. THIS RESULTS IN DRIVERS BEING UNABLE TO SEE VEHICLE FROM THE REAR AS WELL AS CITATIONS FOR NONFUNCTIONING EQUIPMENT.
LED LIGHT ON ONE SIDE OF THE LIFT GATE IS OUT POSSIBLY DUE TO WATER INSIDE OF THE TAIL LIGHT NEED ANSWERS. LOOKS LIKE THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM.
I PURCHASED MY DODGE DURANGO BRAND NEW IN 2014 AND NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH IT. IT IS CURRENTLY IN GREAT CONDITION EXCEPT THAT I RECENTLY TOOK IT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE ON 3/9/19. IT SAT IN MY DRIVEWAY UNTIL MY WIFE DROVE IT TO WORK THE FOLLOWING MONDAY MORNING. ON HER WAY HOME FROM WORK SHE STARTED TO SMELL AN OVERWHELMING BURNING ELECTRICAL SMELL. I DROVE IT BACK INTO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE OIL CHANGE TOOK PLACE AND THEY OUTRIGHT LIED TO ME TELLING ME IT WAS A PLASTIC BAG BURNING ON THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THEY COULD NOT PROVE IT WHEN I ASKED THEM TO SHOW ME. I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH ANOTHER DEALERSHIP FOR THIS TUESDAY. SO I DID SOME RESEARCH TO SEE IF ANYONE HAS HAD THE ISSUE AND THE INTERNET IS FULL OF THESE VEHICLES HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I NOTICED THAT IN A FE INSTANCES THE ISSUE WAS DUD TO A RECALL ON THE ALTERNATOR. WHEN I ENTERED MY VIN NUMBER IN THE NHTSA SITE, IT DOES NOT COME UP AS A VEHICLE THAT NEEDS THE RECALL COMPLETED. WHY WOULD MY 2014 DODGE DURANGO BE PART OF THAT RECALL? VIN [XXX] AND ALSO IF THIS IS NOT THE ISSUE WHY WOULD I AND SO MANY OTHERS HAVE THE ISSUE. RAIN/ROAD WAY WATER GETS INTO EXTERIOR RACETRACK TAIL LIGHT CAUSING SHORTAGE RESULTING IN THE LIGHT STARTING TO GO OUT. THIS IS A MANUFACTURER ISSUE. THE COST OF REPAIRING IS OVER $1000.
FIRST ISSUE IS BACK RACETRACK LENSES IS FULL OF WATER CAUSING BULBS TO BLOW OUT.SECONDLY,AND MOST SCAREY WAS DRIVING AT 50 MPH AND CAR STARTS MAKING LOUD NOISES ON DASH(THAT ALONE SCAREY ENOUGH TO CREATE A CRASH)BUT THE LOOSES POWER AND BARELY CAN STEER VEHICLE TO SIDE OF RT.27,THEN STARTED BACK UP.I AM A SINGLE MOM OF 2 BOYS,(ONE WHICH I RELY ON THIS VEHICLE TO TRANSPORT TO MANY DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS.)LAST THING I NEED IS A HORRIBLE ACCIDENT.PLEASE LISTEN TO ALL THESE COMPLAINTS AS IF IT WERE YOUR FAMILY AND TRY TO ADDRESS THE SAFETY OF YOUR CONSUMERS.
A POLICE OFFICER WAS BACKING INTO A PARKING SPOT WHEN THE DRIVER SIDE HEADREST POPPED OPEN AND STRUCK HIM IN THE FACE. THE HEADREST IS DESIGNED TO OPEN ON IMPACTS TO REDUCE WHIPLASH AND NO COLLISION HAD OCCURRED NOR WAS THERE ANY EXISTING DAMAGE TO WARRANT THIS DEVICE ACTUATING. CHRYSLER WAS NOTIFIED DUE TO THIS EXPENSE NOT BEING COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND EXPRESSED NO CONCERN OR CULPABILITY REGARDING THIS ISSUE.
TAKATA RECALL STANDING WATER AND BUGS ARE INSIDE MY REAR LIGHT BAR ON MY TRUCK. FROM RAIN WATER AND NOW MY LIGHT ON THE DRIVER SIDE IN THE REAR IS OUT.
WATER IS GETTING INTO THE REAR TAIL LIGHT MID SECTION THAT GOES ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE REAR HATCH CAUSING THE LIGHTS TO BURN OUT.
ONE DAY WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING WITH MY 23 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT THEY WAS SITTING AT A RED LIGHT AND THE HEADREST BURST FORWARD HITTING MY DAUGHTER IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD. EVER SINCE THAT DAY SHE NOW HAS ISSUES WITH VERTIGO AND HAS DIZZY SPELLS AT LEAST 2 TIMES A MONTH.
THIS SPECIFIC MODEL I'M CURRENTLY LEASING IS A LIMITED MODEL. I'VE HAD IT FOR MAYBE 3 YEARS. ACCORDING TO THE MANUAL, WERE ONLY TO USE E85 FUEL SO THAT IT COULD RUN SMOOTHLY. UNFORTUNATELY, NOT MANY GAS STATIONS WHERE I LIVE CARRY THAT SPECIFIC GAS TYPE AND NOT MANY GAS STATIONS IN FLORIDA AND OTHER STATES ALONE, PROVIDE E85 FUEL WE ARE GIVEN NO CHOICE BUT TO USE THE ALTERNATIVE GAS. IT'S BECOMING A NUISANCE WHEN WE WANT TO TRAVEL. WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FIRST APPEARED THE GAS GAUGE ALSO STOPPED FUNCTIONING. THE TRUCK ISN'T ABLE TO REACH A FULL TANK. SOMETHING IS PREVENTING IT. THIS IS BECOMING AN INCONVENIENCE FOR ME AND MY FAMILY TO HAVE TO SEARCH AND GO TO JUST 2 GAS STATIONS MILES APART FROM EACH OTHER TO BE ABLE TO PUT GAS IN! MAJORITY OF THE TIMES THE GAS STATIONS THAT DO OFFER THIS TYPE OF GAS ARE DOWN DUE TO MAINTENANCE. SINCE I'VE BEEN PUTTTING IN THE ALTERNATIVE FUEL WHICH IS THE 87, THE TRUCK ISN'T FUNCTIONING PROPERLY AND NOW I'M STARTING TO HAVE ALL SORTS OF PROBLEM WITH MY TRUCK. IT'S A HEADACHE. I REALLY LOVE MY TRUCK AND DON'T WANT TO GET RID OF IT. I HAD A MECHANIC CHECK IT OUT AND WAS TOLD THAT MY MY FUEL INJECTOR AND FUEL SENSOR NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE COSTS ARE EXPENSIVE AND I DON'T THINK IT'S FAIR.
BOUGHT A USED DURANGO 5 MONTHS AGO AT AN OFFICIAL DODGE DEALERSHIP IN NEW HAMPSHIRE, WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS IN GREAT CONDITION. CAME BACK TO THE SAME CAR DEALERSHIP FOR A STATE INSPECTION TO FIND OUT THAT THEY FAILED US FOR A LEAKING STEERING GEAR/RACK, CHARGING US AN OVERPRICED COST OF $1900. COME TO FIND THROUGH ANOTHER MECHANIC SHOP THAT THIS WAS NOT WORTH A FAIL AND THAT IT WAS NOT IN NEED OF AN IMMEDIATE FIX. THE DODGE DEALERSHIP MADE US FEEL PRESSURED TO GET THIS FIXED RIGHT AWAY. THE 2014 DURANGO WITH ONLY 63000 MILES SHOULD NOT ALREADY HAVE AN ISSUE LIKE THIS.
LED LIGHTING BAR ON TAILGATE SHOWED SIGNS OF MOISTURE, AND THEN LIGHTS WENT OUT COMPLETELY, INCLUDING THE LICENSE PLATE LIGHTS. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, WATCHED LIGHTS FLICKER, THEN GO OUT WHEN CAR WAS AUTO STARTED.
I'M HAVING ISSUES WITH MY TRUNK LED LIGHTS. IT'S NOT WORKING PROPERLY WATER LEAKS INSIDE THE LIGHT AND IT'S CAUSE THE LIGHT TO GO OUT. I RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM AND IT SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME EXACT IS
IT HAS BEEN RAINING AND THE LIGHTING SYSTEM HOUSING UNIT HAS FILLED WITH WATER. I HAD NOT USED THE VEHICLE IN SEVERAL DAYS. I NOTICED IT IN A PARKING LOT.
MY 2014 DURANGO HAS BEEN MAKING A KNOCKING NOISE ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE FOR OVER 3 YEARS NOW. I TOOK MY CAR IN SEVERAL TIMES AND TO DIFFERENT DEALERS. IT WAS ALWAYS THE SAME STORY, 'WE COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING' I EVEN HAD ONE DEALERSHIP TELL ME 'SORRY WE CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT, IT'S LIKE TRYING TO FIND A NEEDLE IN A HAYSTACK.' ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER OVER 5TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND IT'S NEVER BEEN FIXED. NOW IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY AND OUT OF THEIR HAIR, JUST WHAT THEY WANTED. I NEED TO HELP ON WHAT TO DO IN THIS SITUATION. ANOTHER ISSUE I HAD WAS WITH THE FUEL PUMP. THEY FIXED SOME PROBLEM I HAD A FEW YEARS BACK, THEY ACTUALLY BROKE MY GAS TANK DOOR AFTER WORKING ON THIS ISSUE. MY CAR HAS ONCE AGAIN COME BACK WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. TODAY MY CAR WON'T START AND IS UNFORTUNATELY OUT OF WARRANTY. I HAD A MECHANIC COME TAKE A LOOK AT IT AND IT SEEMS TO BE THE FUEL PUMP ONCE AGAIN. WHO'S WORKING ON THESE CARS? DRUNKS? I NEED HELP ASAP. I WANT TO NOTE THAT THE KNOCKING NOISE OCCURS EVERY TIME I'M DRIVING. NO MATTER THE ROAD CONDITIONS. SMOOTH, BUMPING, RAINING, THE KNOCKING SOUND IS THERE. IT SOUNDS LIKE A ROCK HITTING UNDER THE HOOD. IT'S NOT CONSTANT BUT HAPPENS EVERY 3-5 MINUTES AND I KNOW IT'S NOT THE LIFTERS BECAUSE I'VE ALSO HAD THE PROBLEM ALREADY AND IT'S BEEN FIXED. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT. .
REAR RACE TRACK LIGHTING HAS WATER ACCUMULATING IN THE TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY CAUSING THE ENTIRE LIGHT BAR TO SHORT OUT. THIS HAS CAUSED THE LICENSE PLATE LIGHTS TO STOP WORKING AS WELL WHICH ARE REQUIRED BY STATE LAW. ESTIMATE TO REPLACE BY DEALER IS $1600
REAR TAILGATE RACETRACK LIGHT HAS A LEAK. WATER ENTERED THE RIGHT-HAND SIDE AND SHORTED OUT THE LED BULB. THERE IS CURRENTLY WATER IN THE LIGHT FIXTURE. THERE IS ALSO EVIDENCE OF BLACK CHARRING DUE TO THE ELECTRICAL SHORT. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE ON-LINE.
WATER IS ENTERING INTO MY RACETRACK TAILLIGHT AND STAYING THERE AT THE BOTTOM RIGHT OF MY LIGHTING UNIT ANYTIME IT RAINS. THIS IS CAUSING MY LEFT LOWER RACETRACK LIGHTING TO FLICKER ON AND OFF. DEALERSHIP TRYING TO CHARGE OVER 1100 TO REPLACE THE WHOLE UNIT.

RAIN GETS IN THE TAIL LIGHT AND PORTIONS OF THE LIGHT DO NOT LIGHT. I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS. IT IS A $1200.00 AND IT HAS HAPPEN AGAIN TO MINE. I DON'T KNOW WHERE OR WHEN IT HAPPENS. I CAN SEE THE WATER INSIDE TAIL LIGHT.
WATER HAS POOLED UP IN THE LOWER RIGHT LED HOUSING AND SHORTED OUT THE LIGHTS IN THAT PARTICULAR AREA. AT ONE POINT THE WHOLE LED STRIP WENT OUT ON THE LIFT GATE. I DIDN'T KNOW IT HAPPENED UNTIL I SMELT A STRONG ELECTRICAL FIRE SMOKE SCENT AND STARTED LOOKING AROUND TO FIND THE SOURCE. WATER CONTINUES TO POOL ON BOTH SIDES OF THE LED RACETRACK TAILLIGHTS.
THE AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ILLUMINATED AND TELLS ME TO GET THE AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICED FOR NO REASON. IT HAS NOT BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENT AND JUST OUT OF THE BLUE CAME ON AND REMAINS ON. THERE WAS A RECALL ON 2014 DODGE DURANGO AND MINE SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THAT RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, IT UNINTENTIONALLY ROLLED AWAY WITH OCCUPANTS IN THE BACK SEAT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ON/OFF SWITCH WAS PRESSED BY AN OCCUPANT INSIDE THE VEHICLE, WHICH STOPPED THE VEHICLE. WHILE THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO ENTER THE VEHICLE, SHE FELL AND THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER HER FINGERS. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO HER RIGHT ANKLE, RIGHT LEG, AND LEFT ARM, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
THE REAR TAIL LIGHT HAS BEEN FILLING WITH WATER AND HAVE NO IDEA WHERE IT'S COMING IN AT BECAUSE TAIL LIGHT STILL LOOKS AS NEW AS IT DID BEFORE. NOW THE LED PART OF THE LIGHT HAS COMPLETELY GONE OUT AND THE WHOLE LIGHT ISN'T ILLUMINATED
THE HEADREST ON MY 2014 DODGE DURANGO STARTED TO SEPARATE ON ONE SIDE AND WOULD NOT SNAP BACK IN PLACE. WITHIN A WEEK, IT SELF-DEPLOYED WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND HIT ME IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD. THERE HAD BEEN NO IMPACT OR CAUSE FOR THE HEADREST TO DEPLOY. ON INSPECTION, I FOUND THE PLASTIC BRACKET THAT HELD THE METAL HOUSING HAD FAILED AND WAS BROKEN IN SEVERAL PIECES. THE METAL HOUSING IS STILL LOCKED SHOWING THAT THE HEADREST HAD NOT DEPLOYED DUE TO IMPACT. *TR
DEVELOPED A LEAK IN THE OIL FILTER HOUSING, WHICH LEAKS DOWN THROUGH THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND ALSO GETS ON THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THE PENTASTAR 3.6L ENGINE ON ALL CHRYSLER PRODUCED VEHICLES. THEY HAVE MADE A FEW REVISIONS TO THIS PART, BUT HAVE NEVER ISSUED A RECALL LEAVING MANY VEHICLES WITH THIS FAULTY AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PART.
REAR RACETRACK LIGHTING HAS FILLED WITH WATER FROM RAIN AND SHORTED OUT THE L.E.D'S.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY DURING A VERY BAD RAINSTORM AT NIGHT ON JANUARY 16TH, 2019. I WAS TRAVELING AROUND 50 MPH ON THE FREEWAY, IN THE NUMBER THREE LANE, WHEN MY CAR SHUT OFF, WHERE I LOST COMPLETE POWER TO MY ENGINE. MY SPEEDOMETER DROPPED FROM 50 TO 30 MPH IMMEDIATELY, LEAVING ME WITH NO POWER, TO BARELY MAKE IT TO THE EMERGENCY LANE. NO POWER, NO BRAKE, NO STEERING-NOTHING. MY HORN WAS ALSO HONKING, MY HEADLIGHTS FLASHING, WINDSHIELD WIPERS ATTEMPTING TO MOVE BUT UNABLE TO, AND SPEAKERS MAKING WEIRD NOISES. AND TO MAKE THINGS EVEN MORE SCARY, MY 9 YEAR OLD SON WAS IN THE CAR WITH ME. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED, AND POSSIBLY ISSUE A RECALL. I FEEL THAT I AM EXTREMELY LUCKY THAT MY SON AND MYSELF WERE NOT SEVERELY INJURED OR EVEN KILLED, WITH MY CAR SHUTTING OFF LIKE THAT WITHOUT WARNING. IF I HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO CRUISE TO THE EMERGENCY LANE, NO DOUBT WE WOULD HAVE BEEN STRUCK AT A STANDSTILL BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC, AVERAGING 50-60 MPH. I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED, AND THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I BROUGHT THE CAR INTO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP, WHERE I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS FROM THE RAIN AND IT SHORTED OUT MY ELECTRICAL. THAT'S IT. THAT'S IT? THERE SHOULD BE A BETTER EXPLANATION, AND ACTION TAKEN TO PREVENT SOMETHING LIKE THIS FROM EVER HAPPENING. THAT CAR SHUTTING OFF WITHOUT WARNING FROM 50 MPH TO 0 MPH ON A FREEWAY COULD HAVE COST MY SON AND I OUR LIVES. I AM EXPECTING TO HEAR BACK FROM DODGE REGARDING THIS VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT OCCURRED, AND I HAVE ALSO READ ABOUT SIMILAR COMPLAINTS WITH THE DURANGO, SO I KNOW THIS IS NOT A FLUKE. THE FRONT PASSENGER HEAD REST SUDDENLY AND VIOLENTLY POPPED OPEN WHILE IN MOTION ON A STRAIGHT, SMOOTH, CITY STREET WITHOUT ANY OUTSIDE FORCE BEING APPLIED TO IT. IF ANYONE HAD BEEN SITTING THERE, IT WOULD HAVE JOLTED THE PERSON'S HEAD FORWARD. I WORRY THAT THIS WILL ALSO HAPPEN TO THE DRIVER'S SIDE AT SOME POINT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
LEAKING WATER IN AND AROUND THE SEALS OF LIGHTS CAUSING THEM NOT TO WORK. DEFECTIVE SEALS. THESE ARE IN THE REAR. ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE LIGHT IN FRONT FOR SAME PROBLEM ABOUT 1 OR 1 1/2 YEARS AGO.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RACE TRACK LIGHTING ON THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE RETAINED WATER. AS A RESULT, THE REAR LIGHTS DID NOT WORK PROPERLY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CENTRAL AVENUE CHRYSLER DODGE RAM (1839 CENTRAL PARK AVE, YONKERS, NY 10710, (866) 671-0682) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS BUILT WITHOUT A RUBBER SEAL OVER THE LIGHTS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO BUY ANOTHER LIGHT BEFORE THEY COULD REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000.

THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
THERE IS WATER COMING INTO THE BACK "RACETRACK" LIGHTS, CAUSING LEDS TO GO BAD, CAUSING BURNT LED LIGHTS. AND BAD VISIBILITY
TAKATA RECALL: WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT MY VEHICLE I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS WATER POOLING INSIDE THE REAR RACETRACK LIGHTING IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER. A PORTION OF THE RACETRACK LIGHTING WAS GOING OUT DUE TO THE WATER. LUCKILY THE DEALERSHIP WAS WILLING TO REPLACE IT FOR US AND DID (SO THEY SAY). WE'VE HAD THE NEW ONE IN FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND JUST RECENTLY NOTICED THAT THERE IS WATER POOLING ACROSS THE ENTIRE LIGHTING NOW. A BIGGER PORTION OF THE LIGHT IS STARTING TO GO OUT ON THE RIGHT SIDE AGAIN AND I'M AFRAID THAT IT WILL START TO AFFECT THE REST OF THE COMPONENTS ON THE HATCH. AND I'M ASSUMING IT WILL SOON GO COMPLETELY OUT.

THE LIGHT IS STARTING TO FLICKER AND I'M ASSUMING IT WILL SOON GO OUT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FOX NEGAUNEE CHEVROLET BUICK GMC (705 US-41, NEGAUNEE, MI 49866, (855) 509-9547) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LED PANEL PART NUMBER: 6815 5950 AI NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 35451117. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,780.
DEALER STATED THAT MY WIRING HARNESS HAS A SHORT WHICH CAUSED THE AIRBAG TO FAIL. BECAME AWARE OF THIS WHEN THE CHECK AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED CONSTANTLY. THIS IS EXACTLY THE SUBJECT OF A NHTSA RECALL: 14V643000 APPARENTLY, MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RANGE OF VINS THOUGH I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THE SAME ISSUE

UPON INSPECTION IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE LED LIGHT BULBS WERE BLOWN DUE TO WATER INTRUSION OF THE TAILLAMP ASSEMBLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
2014 DURANGO RACETRACK LIGHTS ON THE LIFT GATE HAVE WATER IN THEM. THE WATER HAS SHORTED OUT THE LEDS ON ONE SIDE ALREADY. I AM CONCERNED THIS WILL LEAD TO MORE LEDS SHORTING OUT CREATING A HAZARD FOR OTHER DRIVERS AT NIGHT. ADDITIONALLY, I AM CONCERNED FOR THE OVERALL SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE AS THERE MAY BE SOME ADDITIONAL ELECTRICAL SYSTEM DAMAGE DUE TO THE WATER. THIS IS A PART THAT IS NOT SERVICEABLE. I COULD NOT HAVE DONE ANYTHING TO PREVENT IT. IT IS A MANUFACTURER FLAW. IT IS AN EXTERIOR PART AND SHOULD BE SEALED TO PREVENT MOISTURE, MUCH LESS WATER, FROM COLLECTING INSIDE OF IT. THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE PART THAT IS VISIBLE FOR WATER TO ENTER. I FEAR THE LACK OF LEDS OPERATING WILL PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM PASSING STATE INSPECTION. DODGE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND DODGE DEALER STATE THERE IS NO COVERAGE. THE DODGE DEALER QUOTED $1233 TO REPLACE THE PART. VEHICLE HAS 90K MILES. I NOTICED THE PROBLEM WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY. LEDS NOT WORKING WAS NOTICED 12/30/18
THE PASSENGER HEADREST ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT SAFETY DEVICE DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING DURING NORMAL DRIVING. THERE WAS NO IMPACT, ETC., THAT WOULD CAUSE THE DEVICE TO DEPLOY. THE DEVICE ERRANTLY DEPLOYED. HAD A PASSENGER BEEN IN THE VEHICLE THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN SERIOUS INJURY. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET. THROUGH ONLINE RESEARCH I NOTED THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE.
REAR RACETRACK TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY FILLED WITH WATER AND SHORTED OUT SMELLS LIKE ELECTRICAL FIRE

WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT 70MPH THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE HEAD REST "DEPLOYED" WITHOUT WARNING, STRIKING AND INJURING MY WIFE WHO REQUIRED MEDICAL TREATMENT TO RESOLVE THE INJURY. INSPECTION OF THE HEAD REST REVEALED THAT THE PLASTIC THAT HOLDS THE METAL RETAINING PIN FOR THE ACTIVE HEAD REST SYSTEM HAD FAILED, RESULTING IN THE RAPID FORWARD MOVEMENT OF THE HEAD REST CAUSING INJURY. DODGE/FCA SO FAR IS REFUSING TO COVER THE OBVIOUS MATERIALS FAILURE AND POOR DESIGN UNDER WARRANTY.*DT*TR *DT*JB
THREE WEEKS AGO, THE POWER STEERING FAILED ON MY SUV WHILE IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET. IT TIGHTENED UP SEVERELY, MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER. THE DODGE DEALER SAYS THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE IS FAULTY AND THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER. TODAY (DEC.19), I WAS TOLD THE PART WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL SOMETIME IN JANUARY. A PARTS REPRESENTATIVE OFFERED TO LOCATE A GENERIC PART FROM ANOTHER MANUFACTURER, WHICH I DECLINED.
REAR BACKUP LAMP LIGHT BAR ASSEMBLY IS LEAKING WATER. WATER VISIBLY OBSERVED IN LIGHT BAR AND CAUSING LED'S TO FADE. HAD IT RESEALED BY DEALERSHIP CONTINUED TO LEAK AND NOW LIGHT BAR HAS COMPLETELY FAILED AND NO LONGER TURNS ON, THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AS WELL DUE TO LICENSE PLATE LIGHT NO LONGER FUNCTIONING AS WELL. VEHICLE IS SCHEDULED TO GO IN FOR REPAIRS REGARDING A FAILED LIGHT BAR AND SAFETY ISSUE.
