CERTAIN AIRTEX FUEL PUMP MODULES, P/NOS. E7089M, E7094M, E7113M, AND E7129M, MANUFACTURED BETWEEN JUNE 1 AND SEPTEMBER 24, 2006. THESE FUEL PUMP MODULES WERE SOLD AS AFTERMARKET FOR USE IN CERTAIN DAIMLERCHRYSLER VEHICLES LISTED ABOVE. SILICONE MATERIAL USED IN MANUFACTURE OF THE FLAPPER VALVE WAS OUT-OF-SPECIFICATION, LEADING TO EXCESS SWELL OF THE FLAPPER VALVE RESTRICTING THE FLOW OF FUEL TO THE FUEL PUMP MODULE.
Remedy Status
AIRTEX WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE FUEL PUMP MODULES FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 18, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT AIRTEX TOLL-FREE AT 1-866-867-3759.
ON CERTAIN MINIVANS, THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG MAY BECOME DISABLED DUE TO A FAILURE OF THE CLOCKSPRING, WHICH IS LOCATED IN THE HUB OF THE STEERING WHEEL.
Remedy Status
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE CLOCKSPRING ASSEMBLY ON ALL COVERED VEHICLES WITH 70,000 MILES OR LESS. FOR THOSE VEHICLES WITH MORE THAN 70,000 MILES, DAIMLERCHRYSLER WILL OFFER AN EXTENDED LIFETIME WARRANTY UNDER WHICH IT WILL REPLACE THE CLOCKSPRING AT NO CHARGE IF IT FAILS. DAIMLERCHRYSLER WILL ALSO REIMBURSE OWNERS WHO HAVE PAID TO HAVE THE CLOCKSPRING REPLACED ON THEIR VEHICLES. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 12, 2004. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MINI VANS BUILT WITH 3.3L AND 3.8L ENGINES HAVE FUEL RAILS WITH NITROLE RUBBER O-RING SEALS THAT CAN DEGRADE OVER TIME. FUEL LEAKAGE FROM THE UNDERHOOD FUEL INJECTION FUEL RAIL COULD RESULT, INCREASING THE LIKELIHOOD OF A VEHICLE FIRE.

DEALERS WILL INSTALL A SEAL ON THE VEHICLE FUEL RAILS TO PREVENT EXTERNAL LEAKAGE OF FUEL FROM THE FUEL RAIL CROSSOVER TUBE, SHOULD THE EXISTING O-RINGS CONTINUE TO DEGRADE. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN ON JANUARY 25, 2002. DUE TO THE LARGE QUANTITY OF VEHICLES INVOLVED IN THIS CAMPAIGN, THE OWNER NOTIFICATION WILL BE PHASED OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL MONTHS. ACCESS OPTIONS IS RECALLING CERTAIN TRUCKS AND VANS BUILT ON FORD E150, E350, TOYOTA SIENNA, AND DODGE GRAND CARAVAN CHASSIS AND EQUIPPED WITH VMI/RICON 6-WAY POWER SEAT BASES. THE SIX WAY POWER SEAT BASE MAY HAVE A DEFECTIVE (COLD) WELD ON THE PIVOT PIN WHICH IS WELDED TO THE SWIVEL PLATE. THE WELD COULD FAIL.
Remedy Status
THE SWIVEL PLATE WILL BE REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE IF NECESSARY. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 8, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT ACCESS OPTION AT 831-722-6804.
The contact owns a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that while driving at 55 MPH, there was an abnormal noise and noticed that the vehicle's windshield wiper and blinkers had become inoperable. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle had been diagnosed by an independent mechanic. The contact was informed that the failure was due to a faulty wiper transmission linkage, a relay, and a switch. The relay and switch were replaced however, the wiper transmission linkage was not repaired due to parts not being available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and determined that parts were not available. The failure mileage was approximately 110.000
Fuel leak under vehicle. Possible fire. There are several recalls on 2000 dodge caravan, but none supposedly associated with this VIN. The van only has 45,000 miles on it.
At 65+ the back door alarm sounds and keeps sounding when doing freeway speeds.
I was driving at 75 MPH on an Interstate Highway. The 3.3 liter V6 engine, with 120,800 miles on it, threw a rod and cracked a 3 to 4" diameter hole in the block. I have cared for this car religiously for 14 years. It had full oil level. It is available for the next couple of weeks for examination if desired. I was able to get off the highway onto the shoulder safely.
AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN ENGINE STARTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN. IN ADDITION, THE BATTERY AND CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PARK THE VEHICLE IN A NEARBY PARKING LOT. WHEN THE IGNITION WAS STARTED, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE INCREASED. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF THE IGNITION AND ALLOWED THE VEHICLE TO COOL DOWN FOR AWHILE. AFTERWARDS, THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND THE CONTACT CONTINUED DRIVING 15 MPH TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL BELT WAS LOOSE. THE CONTACT CALLED LITHIA CHRYSLER JEEP OF RENO (LOCATED AT 1050 E PLUMB LN #100, RENO, NV 89502, (775) 501-8593) AND INFORMED THEM OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 147,000.

THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND DEPRESSED THE RESET BUTTON SINCE THE VEHICLE HAD JUST BEEN FUELED. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND OPERATED NORMALLY, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED APPROXIMATELY EIGHT OTHER TIMES IN A FOUR MONTH PERIOD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THE RADIATOR NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

FUEL GAGE DON'T WORK AFTER FUEL PUMP REPLACEMENT,,,,GASOLINE SPILLED ALL OVER ROAD
STRUT TOWERS ON MY 2000 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN HAVE RUSTED THROUGH. VISIBLE, SIGNIFICANT RUST HAS BEEN PRESENT FOR AT LEAST 7 YEARS, HOWEVER, IT IS NOW NOT DRIVEABLE. I DID NOT REALIZE THIS IS SUCH A BROADSCALE, SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM TO MOST OWNERS OF 1996-2000 VANS. PLEASE RECALL THIS MESS! STRUT TOWERS ARE NOT COSMETIC!
THE SERPENTINE BELT ON 96-2000 CHRYSLER MINIVANS SLIPPING OFF IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND HAS BEEN FOR YEARS. TIME AND TIME AGAIN CHRYSLER HAS REFUSED TO ISSUE A RECALL FOR IT. IT IS DUE TO A MANUFACTURING DEFECT IN ONE OF THE ENGINE MOUNTS CAUSING A PULLEY MISALIGNMENT. THE BELT SLIPPING OFF CAUSES LOSS OF POWER STEERING, WATER PUMP, AND ALTERNATOR. THE POWER STEERING LOSS CAN CAUSE A DRIVER TO NOT BE ABLE TO CORRECT IN TIME AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THE LOSS OF THE WATER PUMP CAN CAUSE OVERHEATING RESULTING IN ENGINE DAMAGE. THE LOSS OF THE ALTERNATOR CAN CAUSE THE CAR TO EVENTUALLY STOP RUNNING WHEN THE BATTERY IS DRAINED, CAUSING MOTORISTS TO BE STRANDED. I LIVE IN ALASKA AND I'M NOT ALWAYS IN CELLULAR SIGNAL WHEN DRIVING AND TEMPERATURES IN THE WINTER GET DOWN TO -30 F AT TIMES. I CAN'T WAIT SOMETIMES SEVERAL HOURS FOR A TOW TRUCK TO GET TO ME WITHOUT RISKING HYPOTHERMIA AT THOSE TEMPERATURES. THIS NEEDS TO BE MADE INTO A RECALL SO IT CAN GET FIXED.

I HAVE A DODGE RICON ACTIVAN WHEELCHAIR VAN. IT IS A 2000 MODEL. I PURCHASED IT WITH ONLY 29000 MILES. AFTER DRIVING THE VAN FOR 60 MILES IT WILL START STALLING, LOOSES POWER AND DIE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME 3 TIMES. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED I HAD MY SON WITH ME (HE HAS SPASTIC QUAD CEREBRAL PALSY) WE BROKE DOWN NEXT TO A DODGE DEALERSHIP. GETTING MY SON HOME WAS A NIGHTMARE. THE DODGE DEALERSHIP WORKED ON THE VAN. YET,THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE. AFTER 60 MILES IT STALLS AND DIES. ON SATURDAY I WAS BROKEN DOWN WITH MY CHILD ON THE INTERSTATE.IT WAS 92 DEGREES OUT SIDE, HOW HORRIFIC. I CAN SEE IF THE VAN HAD 100,000 MILES TO HAVE ISSUES. I WAS FORTUNATE TO GET THE VAN PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, IF NOT WE WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT AND KILLED.THIS IS A ISSUE THAT NEEDS RECALLED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE.

I HAVE A 2000 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN SPORT, THE SERPENTINE BELT HAS FALLEN OFF 4 TIMES SINCE I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE. THE FIRST TIME IT CAME OFF I WAS GOING 35 MPH IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA, A FRIEND HELPED MY DAD PUT THE BELT BACK ON, THEN A FEW DAYS LATER IT CAME OFF AGAIN GOING 55/60 MPH, TOOK IT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND HAD THE WATER PUMP, SERPENTINE BELT AND TENSIONER PULLEY REPLACED. ABOUT ONE TO TWO WEEK(S) LATER THE BELT FALLS OFF AGAIN DURING EXCELLERATION TO GET ONTO AN EXPRESS WAY, THIS TIME TOOK IT BACK IN AND THEY REPLACED THE TENSIONER ITSELF. I THOUGHT THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED, BUT IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON AUGUST 12, 2014, IT WAS RAINING AND I WAS ONLY GOING 25 MPH AS I TURNED ONTO MY STREET, LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO THE DRIVE WAY BEFORE MY VAN STARTED TO OVERHEAT. *TR
I BOUGHT A 2000 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN NEW IN NOVEMBER OF 2000. IT NOW HAS 244,000 MILES AND STILL RUNS VERY GOOD. I TAKE CARE OF IT AND DO MOST NEEDED REPAIRS MYSELF. I NOTICED A FEW YEARS AGO, SOME RUST FORMING AT THE TOP OF THE STRUT TOWERS NEVER KNOWING OF THE SERVICE BULLETIN ISSUED BY CHRYSLER/DODGE ON OCTOBER 14, 2002 - BULLETIN # 23-044-02. I WOULD HAVE PAID MORE ATTENTION TO THIS ISSUE IF I WOULD HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THE BULLETIN AT THE TIME IT WAS ISSUED. LAST FRIDAY JUNE 20TH, I WAS PULLING INTO THE PARKING LOT AT MY OFFICE AND THE STRUT TOWER ACTUALLY SNAPPED IN HALF, NOT AT THE TOP WHERE THE RUST WAS! I'VE NEVER SEEN THIS HAPPEN ON ANY VEHICLE BEFORE. THANK GOODNESS I WAS ONLY TRAVELING ABOUT 10 MPH WHEN IT HAPPENED.
