MY 2010 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN WOULD OCCASIONALLY STALL WHEN STARTED. BUT IN THE LAST MONTH IT HAS STALLED THREES TIME WHILE DRIVING, ON ONE OCCASION IT STALLED PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT INTO TRAFFIC. THE DEALER IS YET TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG. *TR
IN THE 12 MONTHS THAT WE'VE OWNED OUR 2010 DODGE CARAVAN, THE ENGINE HAS SHUT-DOWN IN TRAFFIC MULTIPLE TIMES. EACH TIME IT HAS NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. DODGE ANNOUNCED A RECALL BUT HAS NOT ACTUALLY PUT IT INTO ACTION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. UPON RESTART THE VEHICLE WOULD OPERATE AS NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 11,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

2010 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN PURCHASED DEC 09 AS OF TODAY VAN HAS 30322 REPLACED REAR BRAKE PADS DUE TO GRINDING NOISE. 1 OUT OF 4 BRAKE PADS HAD NO LINING LEFT (GRINDING NOISE) OTHER 3 MARGINAL WEAR. OLD PART IS AVAILABLE FOR INPECTION IF NEEDED. TOOK TO DEALER, RECCOMENDS REPLACEMENT OF REAR ROTORS AND SHAVE THE FRONT ROTORS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE CARAVAN. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT THEN COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS THEN CONTACTED AND THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THERE WERE NO RELATED RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE WIN MODULE HAS BEEN REPLACED ON FOUR DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. MY VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING EACH TIME. IN ONE INSTANCE I WAS IN THE FAST LANE ON THE FREEWAY! I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE AFTER THE SECOND INCIDENT. ON SEVEN (7), OCCASIONS I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE BRAKES AND/OR ROTORS. THESE ARE VERY SERIOUS ISSUES. UPDATED 11/04/13 THE CONSUMER IS ALSO SEEKING REIMBURSEMENT FOR REPAIRS TO THE TRANSMISSION, AND THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATING. UPDATED 06/29/15.*JB
I WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 30 MPH WHEN I NOTICED THE AIR CONDITIONER STOP WORKING. I BEGAN SLOWING DOWN FOR A RED LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I WENT TO GO AND REALIZED THAT THE ENGINE HAD STOPPED AS WELL. I LOST ALL POWER AND ENGINE FUNCTION WHILE DRIVING. I WAS ABLE TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTART IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE VIBRATED VIOLENTLY WHILE BRAKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND THEY DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKES WERE OUT OF ROUND AND THE ROTORS WERE WARPED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE MECHANIC. WHILE TURNING A CORNER ON MY WAY TO WORK AT 5:30 AM, MY 2010 GRAND CARAVAN WITH 13,835 MILES TOTALLY WENT DEAD, I HAD THE LIGHTS, BLOWER ON, THE RADIO ON AND THE REAR DEFROSTER ON, AND EVERYTHING WENT DEAD. NO STEERING AND THE BRAKES WERE OUT. SINCE I WAS TURNING LEFT, I HAD TO CROSS 4 LANES OF TRAFFIC WITH NO POWER. I WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO A PARKING LOT, PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND IT RESTARTED. I DID HAVE TO TURN THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION AND PUT IT IN PARK, AS PUTTING IT IN NEUTRAL AND TURNING THE KEY DID NOTHING. I CHECKED THE DODGE WEBSITE FOR THE RECALL INFORMATION AND IT SAYS THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT IN THE LISTING OF RECALLED VEHICLES. I HAVE SENT AN EMAIL TO DODGE. THIS DID HAPPEN 2 TO 3 PREVIOUS TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, BUT THE CAR JUST SEEMED LIKE IT WAS LOSING POWER, BUT THEN IT CAME BACK TO LIFE-IT DID NOT HAVE A TOTAL LOSS OF POWER AND IT DID NOT REQUIRE ME TO RESTART THE ENGINE. *TR
FUEL SENSOR IS NOT WORKING. WE DO NOT KNOW WHEN THE GAS TANK IS EMPTY OR IF IT IS FULL. ONE WEEK IT TAKES 11 GALLONS TO FILL THE TANK AND THE NEXT WEEK 14. SO THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE FUEL SENSOR LAST WEEK. WE HAVE HAD GAS FUMES IN THE VAN SINCE THEN. ALSO WHEN WE TRIED TO FILL THE TANK IT HAD A VAPOR LOCK AND NO GAS WOULD GO IN THE TANK. WENT BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THERE MAY BE A WIRE LOOSE ON SENSOR AND NO WAY TO TELL. I WAS GIVEN THE VAN BACK AND NOTHING WAS DONE TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING A VAN WITH GAS FUMES AND A POSSIBLE LOOSE WIRE. I TRIED TO GET CHRYSLER CASE MANAGER [XXX] ON THE PHONE. AFTER 1 HOUR ON HOLD I WAS DISCONNECTED AND WHEN I CALLED BACK [XXX] WOULD NOT HELP ME EXCEPT TO SAY SOMEONE WOULD CALL ME TUESDAY. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE. MY 2010 DODGE CARAVAN ONLY HAS 20K MILES AND THE BRAKE ROTORS ARE OUT OF ROUND THEY VIBRATE WHEN BRAKING THE DEALER STATED THAT TURNING THE ROTORS WOULD FIX IT BUT THE BRAKE PADS ARE LIKE NEW . I HAVE OWNED LOTS OF VEHICLES OVER THE YEARS AND HAVE GONE 50 TO 70K MILE BEFORE BRAKE SERVICE. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM AND IT SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE CARAVAN. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED THE INSTRUMENTAL PANEL LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING BUT HE WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE A FAILURE CODE. THE DEALER DID NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,700 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 23, 900.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES AT 50 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD PULSATE ABNORMALLY WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE ABS WARNING LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE REAR BRAKES SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE BRAKE SENSOR, AND LATER REPAIRED FOR THE REAR BRAKE PADS AND CALIPERS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE CARAVAN XLT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BABY TREND, MODEL#CS31029 SAFETY SEAT WOULD NOT FIT PROPERLY IN THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE DESIGN OF THE SEATS. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY AN INSPECTION STATION TECHNICIAN WHO ADVISED HER THAT THE DESIGN OF THE SEATS WERE AT AN ANGLE MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE SAFETY SEAT TO FIT PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 38,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
WHEN PRESSING BRAKES THERE IS A REAL BAD PULSATING VIBRATION . THERE HAS BEEN NUMEROUS TIMES I FELT LIKE THE VAN WAS NOT GOING TO STOP PROPERLY WHICH COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER ALLOWING THE VEHICLE TO COAST, HE WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT WITH NO PROBLEMS. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THAT A RECALL WOULD BE ESTABLISHED IN APRIL. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 33,000. THE VAN MOTOR CUT OUT WHILE TURNING LEFT AT AN INTERSECTION AND ANOTHER CAR COLLIDED WITH THE VAN. THE FRONT AIR BAGS WENT OFF . THERE WAS CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END. ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS I COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER THAT THE ENGINE WAS STALLING, CUTTING OUT, MISSING AND LACK OF POWER. THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM AND NOTHING SHOWED UP ON THE COMPUTER. THE DEALER HAS A RECORD ON FILE OF MY COMPLAINTS. HAS ANYONE PURSUED LEGAL ACTION REGARDING SIMILAR PROBLEMS SUCH AS I HAVE EXPERIENCED?
WHILE STOPPED AND THEN TRY TO DRIVE FORWARD OR REVERSE, THERE WOULD BE A PAUSE AND THEN SUDDENLY JERK FORWARD/REVERSE AND THEN BE OKAY. THE LAST TIME BEFORE I HAD IT SERVICED, (UNDER WARRANTY), I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE FORWARD BUT REVERSE WOULD ONLY LAST A FEW SECONDS BEFORE IT WOULDN'T WORK. YOU PRESS ON THE GAS BUT IT WOULDN'T MOVE. IF YOU PUT INTO FORWARD AND THEN REVERSE IT SOMETIMES LET YOU REVERSE FURTHER BUT ONLY A FOOT AT A TIME. NEW 2010 GRAND CARAVAN WITH 5100 [XXX] IS GETTING THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED. SINCE BASICALLY BRAND NEW THE BRAKES FELT FUNNY TO ME. MY WIFE SAID IT WAS JUST ME. HAD DEALER CHECK THEM UNDER 1 YEAR AND THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. WITHIN 6 MONTH OF THAT VISIT THE RECALL CAME OUT AND FRONT BRAKES COULD BE REPLACED. COST ME THE DEDUCTIBLE. WELL THAT FIX HAS NEVER FELT RIGHT EITHER AND IT'S GETTING WORSE. THE SHAKE IS VIOLENT NOW IN ADDITION TON THE GRINDING THAT HAPPENS EVERY TIME THE CAR JUST STARTS UP FOR THE DAY OR GOD FORBID YOU HAVE TO HIT THEM HARD FOR A QUICK STOP. TONS OF GROANING AND CREAKS NOT TOO MENTION AND DRAGGED OUT STOP. YOU ALSO CAN'T TELL ME THIS KIND OF SHAKING IS GOOD FOR THE OTHER FRONT END PARTS. AS I SEE IT I CAN KEEP GOING THROUGH SETS OF BRAKES THAT WILL WARP FAST AND NOT PROVIDE ME AND MY FAMILY THE SAFETY WE NEED TO BE COMFORTABLE OR GET RID OF IT. GIVE YOU ONE GUESS WHICH DIRECTION I'M HEADING. SAID COMMERCIAL FOR DODGE AND THEIR QUALITY. I HAVE OWNED MANY DODGE VEHICLES BUT WILL LIKELY MOVE ON ALL TOGETHER FROM THEM. ALREADY REPLACED MY DODGE DURANGO 2004 THAT DID QUITE WELL WITH 2012 NISSAN ARMADA. I WILL BE WATCHING IN MY REAR VIEW FOR DODGE MIN-VANS AND BE SURE TO MOVE OUT THE WAY NOT KNOWING IF THEY CAN STOP BEFORE HITTING ME. THE WORST BRAKING I HAVE FELT ON A CAR EVER AND I'VE DRIVEN SOME TERRIBLE 1970'S MACHINES. BOO DODGE ON THIS ONE FOR NOT STEPPING UP AND FIXING THE ENTIRE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) IN JUNE OF 2015. AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE GIVEN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.
OWNS A 2010 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE REAR BRAKES AND CALIPERS SEIZED AND OVERHEATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE THE REAR BRAKE PADS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND A CLAIM WAS FILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30000. *TR

THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 11V139000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION), BUT THE REPAIRS COULD NOT BE PERFORMED YET FOR AN UNSPECIFIED REASON. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
THE ENGINE ON MY 2010 DODGE CARAVAN SHUTS OFF WHILE I AM DRIVING. IT HAS HAPPENED 4 OR 5 TIMES IN THE LAST 15 MONTHS. I HAVE USUALLY BEEN DRIVING AT A SPEED OF 35-45 MPH. SINCE THE POWER STEERING SHUTS OFF, I CANNOT STEER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HAVE TO PUSH THE BRAKED REALLY HARD TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND TURN THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION. I THEN HAVE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND HAVING PASSENGERS IN MY VEHICLE. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER TWICE FOR THIS PROBLEM AND SINCE THEY CANNOT RE-CREATE THE INCIDENT, THEY CANNOT EXPLAIN WHY IT HAPPENS. THERE HAVE BEEN NO MODIFICATIONS OR REPAIR ATTEMPTS MADE. I FOUND A SIMILAR RECALL ONLINE CHRYSLER RECALL NUMBER L02, BUT WHEN I CALLED DODGE/CHRYSLER, I WAS INFORMED THAT MY VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS REASON, ALTHOUGH OTHERS THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL HAVE BEEN RECALLED. I WAS ADVISED BY A PERSON AT DODGE/CHRYSLER TO TAKE MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH A COPY OF THIS ARTICLE TO SEE IF THEY CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. I AM TAKING THE VEHICLE TOMORROW. *TR
I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY 2010 DOGE GRAND CARAVAN SINCE WE BOUGHT IT. BUT ON 2/7/11 I THOUGHT WE WERE GOING TO DIE DUE TO THE CAR SHUTTING DOWN AT 60 MILES PER HOUR. WE WERE DRIVING 60 MPH IN THE FAST LANE OF TRAFFIC WHEN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. I LOST MY POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES AND DID MY BEST TO PULL OFF TO SAFETY. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND A SERVICE MAN ASKED ME TO CHECK TO SEE IF I HAD RAN OUT OF GAS. I STILL HAD ABOUT 10 GALLONS IN MY TANK. THE VAN DID TURN BACK ON SO HE HAD ME DRIVE ABOUT A MILE OR SO TO HIS GARAGE. HE PUT THE CAR ON A COMPUTER TO CHECK THE CODES. HE CLAIMS THERE WAS NO CODES INDICATING THIS ENGINE FAILURE. NO SURPRISE BECAUSE THIS DEALERSHIP, THE SAME ONE I BOUGHT THE VAN TELLS ME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG EACH TIME SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENS. I CHECKED THE INTERNET AND THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS SHOWING ENGINE FAILURE ON THIS MAKE AND MODEL AT 60 MILES PER HOUR. SOME OF THE COMPLAINTS INVOLVED CHILDREN SITTING IN THE BACK SEAT WHEN THE VAN'S ENGINE DIED AT 60 MPH. I REPORTED THIS TO CHYSLER AND HAVE A CASE NUMBER [XXX]. I WAS TOLD TO CONTACT ANOTHER DEALERSHIP WHICH I CALLED TODAY. THEY TOLD ME THE SERVICE MANAGER WAS NOT IN AND SOMEONE WOULD CALL ME BACK. NO ONE HAS CALLED ME BACK SO I AM WRITING THIS COMPLAINT IN HOPES THAT I WILL GET HELP WITH THIS URGENT MATTER. THE BRAKE ROTORS WARP EVERY 20,000 MILES OR SO, SO BAD THAT THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON BOTH MY 2008 AND MY 2010 CARAVAN. DODGE HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM FOR YEARS AND HAS REFUSED TO ADDRESS IT OTHER THAN TO GIVE A DISCOUNT ONLY IF YOU ASK FOR IT. GETTING THEM FIXED AT THE DEALER IS A PAIN CAUSE THEY TAKE THE VAN FOR AT LEAST A DAY SOME TIMES TWO. THE PROBLEM DESCRIBED HAS HAPPENED TWICE, BOTH IN SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES. WHILE DRIVING AT AROUND-TOWN SPEEDS (~35 MPH OR LESS), AND MAKING A LEFT TURN THE VEHICLE HAS COMPLETELY STALLED. I HIT A MOOSE CALF DRIVING MY 2010 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN AT ABOUT 65 MPH. I BARELY HAD TIME TO HIT THE BRAKES SO I WAS GOING QUITE FAST WHEN I HIT AND KILLED THE ANIMAL. NOW MY VEHICLE HAS 15000 MILES AND WHILE DRIVING ALL YOU CAN HEAR IS NOISES (ALMOST LIKE ROAD NOISE BUT ITS FROM THE FRONT END). MOST LIKELY, WHEEL BEARINGS, BALL JOINT, TIE RODS ETC. ON 10/21/11, WHILE PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY LOW AND BEHOLD WHAT DO YOU HERE, NOTHING BUT THE SOUND OF GRINDING BRAKES. NO SIGN OF BRAKE HAVING A ISSUES THE DAY BEFORE WHEN DRIVEN. THIS PARTICULAR VAN THAT I PURCHASED BRAND NEW (WITH 2 MILES ON IT) CLEARLY IS A LEMON AND HAS FAULTY PARTS OR SOMETHING MAJORLY WRONG WITH IT.
