I HAVE 2 SEPERATE ISSUES. THE FIRST ISSUE IS LIKE MANY OTHER CARAVAN OWNERS, THE REAR SLIDING DOOR LOCKS ARE BOTH MALFUNCTIONING. THE REAR DRIVERS DOOR STARTED WITH THE LOUD BUZZING WHEN IT WOULD LOCK AT AROUND 60,000 MILES. AT AROUND 92,000 MILES THE REAR PASSENGER DOORLOCK BROKE IN THE LOCKED POSITION. THE DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK ELECTRICALLY OR MANUALLY. IT IS PERMANENTLY LOCKED. THIS IS A VERY BAD SAFTEY ISSUE! IF THERE WAS AN EMERGENCY AND THE DRIVERS REAR DOOR GOT DAMAGED, NO ONE IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE CAN GET OUT! AS MANY COMPLAINTS THAT I HAVE SEEN ON THIS ISSUE, THIS IS CLEARLY A DEFECTIVE PART THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED! MY SECOND ISSUE IS THE CABLES THAT MAKE THE MIDDLE PASSENGER SEAT FOLD UP HAVE BROKEN. THIS HAPPENED AT AROUND 80,000 MILES. BOTH FAILURES HAPPENED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.
DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR STUCK IN LOCK POSITION, WILL NOT OPEN.
The driver's side power sliding door locked and would not open either by mechanical means or power slide using the handle or the button over the driver's head. Then the next day the passenger side sliding door did the same thing. I had to hit the door with my socked foot from the inside while trying to unlock the door manually. I was eventually able to get the driver's side sliding door open by this means and the passenger door started to work also. The problem now is the actuator makes a buzzing sound when I hit the lock button either on the door or the keyless remote or when the vehicle reaches auto lock speed. This is a HUGE safety issue for rear passengers. If there is an accident or vehicle fire, the rear passengers will not be able to get out and might suffer severe injuries or die!!!!!!!!!!!
OWNED DODGE GRAND CARAVAN RT 2016 ONE YEAR SLIDING DOOR ON DRIVER SIDE STOPPED WORKING FROM ONE DAY TO NEXT. THEN DRIVING DOWN HILL FROM FREEWAY, BRAKES MADE A LOUD SCREECHING SOUND AND THE WHOLE VAN WAS SHAKING I THOUGHT I WAS GONNA LOOSE CONTROL I REPLACE NEW BRAKES AND DRUM ITS BETTER BUT STILL SHAKY GOING DOWN HILL. AFTER MONTH OF OWNING THE CAR I COULD FILL A LIL MISFIRE WHEN I GIVE A LIL GAS BUT JUST THOUGHT ITS AN RT HAS POWER. WELL RECENTLY MY VAN BEEN IN THE SHOP TWICE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON SHOWS ITS MISS FIRING (IGNITION COILS) AND SPARKPLUGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WELL WE REPLACE ALL SPARK PLUGS AND 1 IGNITION COIL BECAUSE THE OTHER COILS WERE STILL GOOD. THINGS WERE GOOD AND DROVE AROUND FOR 3 WEEKS THEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES AGAIN. CODE STILL SHOWS IGNITION COIL NEED TO BE REPLACE. THIS TIME REPLACE ALL 6 IGNITION COIL, GUESS WHAT I JUST PICKED UP MY VAN TODAY AND 10 MIN OF DRIVING BACK HOME CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN. TOOK IT BACK TO THE MECHANIC IT STILL MISS FIRING IGNITION COILS. I ABOUT READY TO THROW THIS VAN AWAY. THIS VAN IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD HOW COULD IT POSSIBLY HAVE THIS MUCH PROBLEMS. IN ADDITION WHEN I TURN ON MY SIGNAL LIGHT ON TO GO RIGHT OR LEFT MY WIPERS WILL GO OFF TOO.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S DOOR WAS STUCK IN A LOCKED POSITION. ENTERPRISE CAR SALES (5718 S LINDBERGH BLVD, ST. LOUIS, MO 63123, (314) 842-6899) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT MANY CLIENTS EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE AND WOULD COST $100 TO BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT DID NOT PURCHASE A WARRANTY WHEN SHE PURCHASED THE USED VEHICLE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
BOTH THE DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE REAR POWER SLIDING DOORS WILL NOT OPEN MANUALLY OR VIA THE POWER BUTTONS ON THE KEY. THE DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR DID STOPPED OPENING AT 38K MILES AND THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR STOPPED WORKING AT 46K. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS WE HAVE CHILDREN IN CARSEATS, AND WE CANNOT OPEN THE DOORS TO REMOVE THEM.
THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDER DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK BY ANY MEANS. THE LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE AS THE ACTUATOR NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. IT SEEMS THAT THIS IS A COMMON COMPLAINT AND IS A SAFETY ISSUE. A MAJOR DOOR PART SHOULD LAST MORE THAN 3 YEARS.
DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR MECHANICAL LATCHING MECHANISM FOR THE SLIDING DOOR'S LOCK IS MALFUNCTIONING AND CAUSING THE DOOR TO BECOME STUCK IN THE SHUT POSITION, WITH THE MECHANICAL LOCK PHYSICALLY UNABLE TO BE OPERATED, RESULTING IN THE DOOR BEING BOUND IN THE SHUT POSITION. MECHANICAL LOCK DOES NOT RESPOND TO COMMANDS FROM THE DRIVER'S OR PASSENGER'S SIDE UNLOCK BUTTONS, OR FROM EITHER OF TWO KEY FOBS IN THE UNLOCK OR LOCK COMMANDED POSITIONS. ADDITIONALLY, OPEN & SHUT COMMANDS TO THE DOOR FROM THE KEY FOBS AND THE ABOVE-CENTER-CONSOLE BUTTONS DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR. NOTABLE INFORMATION: WHEN ATTEMPTING TO OPEN THE SLIDING DOOR FROM THE KEY FOB, THE LOCKING MECHANISM IS HEARD TO BE ATTEMPTING TO UNLOCK THE DOOR, BUT RESULTS IN NO OPERATION OF THE SLIDING DOOR, OR THE LOCK ITSELF. THIS IS SAFETY CONCERN AS PASSENGERS IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE CAN BECOME TRAPPED SHOULD A ROLL OVER CONDITION EXIST. THE COST FOR THIS REPAIR IS APPROXIMATELY 1100.00 USD, AND IS A KNOWN ISSUE BY DODGE. 1100.00 USD SHOULD NOT BE REQUIRED FOR A MECHANICAL DEFECT THAT WAS PRESENT AT THE TIME OF CONSTRUCTION, THAT IS A KNOWN ISSUE BY THE VEHICLE MANUFACTURER, AND PRESENTS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY CONCERN FOR ANY OCCUPANTS OF THE REAR PORTION OF THE VEHICLE.
2016 GRAND CARAVAN R/T - DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR LOCK IS STUCK. IT RESPONDS TO NOTHING. PRESSING THE DOME PANEL BUTTON DOES NOTHING. TRYING TO LOCK/UNLOCK WITH THE DRIVER'S LOCK BUTTON OR THE REMOTE DOES NOTHING. THE DOOR LOCK SWITCH MOVES, BUT HAS A "MUSHY" FEEL AND NEVER SEEMS TO ENGAGE OR DISENGAGE. I'VE TRIED PUSHING THE DOOR OPEN (OUT AND BACK) WITH AS MUCH FORCE AS IT SEEMS I CAN WITHOUT BREAKING SOMETHING. NOTHING. THE DOOR IS EFFECTIVELY LOCKED SHUT AND THE LOCK MECHANISM SEEMS TO HAVE FAILED. TO ME, THIS IS A BIG SAFETY CONCERN.
PASSENGER DOOR LOCK WILL NOT FUNCTION (DOOR WILL NOT OPEN) THE OTHER PASSENGER WIRE HARNESS IS BROKEN AND WIRES ARE EXPOSED. FIRST THE DOORS WHERE BUZZING AND THEN IT JUST STOP WORKING YOU CANNOT GET OUT FROM ONE OF THE DOORS. THE CHILD PROOF LOCK DOES NOT WORK. PROBLEM STARTED LAST MONTH AND IS GETTING WORSE WORRY THAT WE WON'T BE ABLE TO USE THE PASSENGER DOORS IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY.
3 YEAR OLD VAN, PURCHASED NEW, LESS THAN 100K MILES, TRANSMISDON DIED & CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY. NO HELP FROM DODGE OR DEALERSHIP.
RET'D FROM A WEEK LONG TRIP INTO MY DRIVEWAY, READY TO UNLOAD CLOTHES, ETC. DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR WOULD NOT ACTIVATE, NOR COULD I OPEN IT MANUALLY. TRIED, TRIED, TRIED - BOTH MANUALLY AND WITH KEY FOB & WITH BUTTON ABOVE DASH, TO NO AVAIL. IN EARLY AM LEFT MILITARY FACILITY LODGING IN INDIANA - NO PROB. TOOK TO LOCAL HERTRICH DEALER POCOMOKE CITY, MD. INDICATED 'ACTUATOR' AT A COST OF OVER $700. DECIDED TO CHECK RECALL POSSIBILITY AS A TRUE SAFETY PROBLEM IF MY GREAT GRAND CHILDREN WERE INSIDE. STARTED COPYING ALL THE 2019 COMPLAINTS ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT OUT OF 222 COMPLAINTS THE LARGE MAJORITY ARE RELATED TO THIS PROBLEM. SURELY DODGE SHOULD PUT OUT A RECALL. SUDDEN, UNEXPECTED, HAD BOUGHT 2016 DODGE AS USED CAR W/REMAINING WARRANTY. HAD TO FIX PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WHILE STILL UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE OF A GROWLING SOUND IN MID 2017. HERTRICH DODGE CAN PROVIDE THOSE DETAILS. YES, I WANT THIS COVERED, AFTER SEEING ALL THE COMPLAINTS JUST IN 2019. WILL INFORM MY DODGE DEALER RE THIS COMPLAINT & AWAIT A RECALL SURELY! CAR HAS OVER 79K MILES. AT 81, DON'T NEED SOMEONE KILLED OR INJURED ON MY WATCH BECAUSE THEY CANNOT EXIT IN AN EMERGENCY! 7/2/19 - AM LVG LODGING FINE; HOME IN DRIVEWAY IT OCCURRED.
SLIDING DOORS LOUD BUZZING WHEN LOCKING OR UNLOCKING THE VEHICLE PASSENGER BACK SLIDING DOOR STARTED FIRST THEN 2 MONTH LATER DRIVER BACK SLIDING DOOR. WHILE DRIVING OR IN PARKED POSITION WITH KEY IN EGNITION OR WITHOUT THE KEY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, AN ABNORMAL NOISE SOUNDED FROM THE HOOD OF THE ENGINE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
RIGHT SLIDING DOOR STUCK IN LOCK POSITION. STARTED A YEAR AGO. SEEMS MANY PEOPLE HAVING THIS PROBLEM AND IS SAFETY ISSUE.
Passenger sliding rear door latch would not unlatch by any means of normal operation. Lock tab inside would not move to unlock position and key fob also would not unlock door. I took the inside panel off and readjusted the locking rod mechanism. That was the only way to get it to work again. This happened several times in both lock and unlock positions. Currently it is stuck in the unlock position and i will leave it that way for purpose of safety due to if it gets stuck in lock position and i were to be in an accident i would not be able to get my grand kids out by normal operation.
LEFT SIDE SLIDING DOOR LOCKING ACTUATOR WILL NOT UNLOCK WITH KEYFOD, OVERHEAD DOOR OPEN BUTTON OR EVEN THE MANUAL BUTTON. SO THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN AT ALL STUCK SHUT AND LOCKED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY AND YOU NEEDED TO GET SOMEONE OUT OF THAT SIDE THEY ARE STUCK. THIS JUST ALL OF A SUDDEN HAPPENED. THERE WAS NOT WARNING OR NOISE MADE. THE CAR WAS PARKED IN THE PARKING LOT AT MY SON'S DAYCARE. I WENT TO OPEN THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR SLIDING DOOR WITH THE KEY FOB, AND THE DOOR DID NOT OPEN. IT WAS FULLY FUNCTIONING THAT SAME DAY, AND NOW THE DOOR IS STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION. I CANNOT UNLOCK THE REAR SLIDING PASSENGER DOOR MANUALLY OR WITH THE KEY FOB. SO, I AM UNABLE TO ACCESS THAT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AT ANY TIME TO HELP BUCKLE/UNBUCKLE HIS CAR SEAT OR TO OPEN THE DOOR IN AN EMERGENCY.
THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION BUT WOULDNT SHIFT WOULD JUST TAKE THE RPMS TO 7000. THE TRANSMISSION WAS GETTING SO HOT IT WAS MAKING MY TEMPERATURES GAUGE FOR MY ENGINE RISE. I PULLED OFF ON EXIT 92 ON 81 SOUTHBOUND BY THE TIME THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP I WAS SEEING FLAMES COMING OUT FROM THE FLOORBOARD. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE CERTIFIED PREOWNED BUT I NEVER RECIEVED A RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION PUMP AS IT SHOWS THERE IS ONE ON THIS WEBSITE. MY VEHICLE IS A TOTAL LOSE AND IT COMPLETELY BURNED MY VEHICLE BY THE TIME THE FIRE DEPARTMENT GOT THERE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
THE SLIDING DOOR BEHIND THE DRIVER'S SEAT IS PERMANENTLY LOCKED. IT DOESN'T UNLOCK WITH THE KEY NOR DOES IT UNLOCK MANUALLY. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS IF I WERE TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT, THE KIDS CANNOT GET OUT OF THE CAR SAFELY.
ON JUNE 21 2019 MY WIFE AND I DROVE TO OUR IVF DOCTORS APPOINTMENT FROM OUR HOME IN WACO TEXAS TO HOUSTON TEXAS. ON OUR TRIP BACK HOME THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AS SHE WAS DRIVING OUR 2016 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. SHE TOOK A PICTURE OF THE DASHBOARD THE LIGHT WENT OFF MAYBE ABOUT 30 MINUTES WHILE DRIVING AND WE NOTICED THE LIGHT OF THE AIRBAG CAME ON SEVEN TIMES MORE WHILE WE WERE DRIVING ON OUR WAY HOME. WE WOULD LIKE LEGAL ADVICE PLEASE.
PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR LOCK IS STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION. IT WILL NOT UNLOCK WITH THE KEY FOB OR BY MANUALLY UNLOCKING. IT HAS WORKED FINE FOR THE 2 AND 1/2 YEARS WE HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE AND THEN IT SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING.
DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN MANUALLY, WITH THE KEY FOB BUTTON, OR WITH EITHER BUTTON INSIDE THE VEHICLE. DOOR WAS ALSO STUCK IN "LOCK" POSITION AND COULD NOT BE UNLOCKED MANUALLY, WITH KEY FOB, OR WITH INTERIOR BUTTONS.
DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR IS STUCK IN LOCKED POSITION AND CANNOT OPEN DOOR MANUALLY OR WITH KEY FOB OR ANY OTHER BUTTONS THAT WOULD NORMALLY OPEN DOOR. CANNOT MANUALLY UNLOCK DOOR AND WHEN I TRY TO OPEN IT IT SAYS YOU HAVE TO UNLOCK FIRST BUT CANNOT. *DT*JB

THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 58821087. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO THE LOCAL DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,100.
THE DRIVER SIDE REAR SLIDING DOOR IS UNRESPONSIVE. THE DOOR DOESN'T OPEN OR CLOSE MANUALLY, WITH THE POWER BUTTON, OR WITH THE KEY FOB. ALL THE OTHER DOORS WORK AS THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO. WHEN THE BUTTON ON THE FOB IS PRESSED, THE VEHICLE LIGHTS FLASH, ACKNOWLEDGING THE COMMAND, HOWEVER NOTHING HAPPENS. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT MY HOME, AND WHILE TRYING TO LOAD MY INFANT CHILDREN INTO THEIR CAREERS, WE DISCOVERED THE DOOR WAS INOPERABLE. THE PROBLEM IS NOT WITH A FUSE, BECAUSE THE PASSENGER SLIDER IS ON THE SAME FUSE AND WORKS FINE. I CAN'T OPEN THE DOOR TO INSPECT THE WIRING HARNESSES; BUT IT WOULD HAVE TO BE A POORLY DESIGNED WIRING HARNESS OR PROBLEM WITH THE ACTUATOR. IF MY VEHICLE WERE IN AN ACCIDENT, I WOULD BE UNABLE TO FREE MY CHILDREN FROM THE VEHICLE.
WHEN THE CAR IS IN PARK, IGNITION ON OR OFF, THE DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR IS LOCKED AND CLOSED AND WILL NOT OPEN USING THE KEYFOB, THE DOOR BUTTON ON THE CEILING CONSOLE, THE DOOR BUTTON ON THE DOOR WALL, THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLES. THE LOCK WILL NOT MANUALLY LOCK OR UNLOCK. YOU CANNOT EXIT THE VAN ON THAT SIDE.
JUNE 14, 2019, WHILE PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY, THE RIGHT SLIDING DOOR WOULD NOT UNLOCK . I TRIED BOTH MANUALLY AND ELECTRONICALLY. THE DOOR IS HOPELESSLY LOCKED. I WENT THROUGH THIS WITH THE LEFT SLIDING DOOR IN JANUARY, 2019.
THE LOCK ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK. THE DOOR IS STUCK AND WILL NOT OPEN SINCE THE LOCKING MECHANISM IS STUCK. IT WILL NOT OPEN MANUALLY OR AUTOMATICALLY. IT CAUSES A SAFETY HAZARD DUE TO THE FACT THAT IF AN ACCIDENT OR SOMETHING HAPPENED, THE DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED TO LET MY CHILDREN OUT.
WHEN MOVING THE DRIVERS SEAT. THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES. ON. MOVE THE SEAT BACK THE LIGHT GOES OFF.
THE SLIDING DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK EITHER ELECTRONICALLY OR MANUALLY. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS THAT DOOR CAN NO LONGER BE OPENED. ALSO, THE SLIDING PASSENGER DOOR WILL NO LONGER LOCK EXCEPT MANUALLY.
DRIVER'S SIDE REAR SLIDING DOOR STUCK SHUT AND LOCKED. WILL NOT UNLOCK. WILL NOT OPEN. JUST PULLED IN THE DRIVEWAY AND WENT TO GRAB LAUNDRY FROM THE BACKSEAT AND THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN
STATIONARY IN DRIVEWAY, DRIVERS SIDE REAR DOOR UNABLE TO OPEN MANUALLY OR ELECTRONICALLY. BROUGHT TO DEALERSHIP WHERE PURCHASED AND LEFT IT TO THE TUNE OF $296 LABOR FOR DIAGNOSING. NOT FIXED THAT WOULD BE ANOTHER $600 FOR PARTS PLUS LABOR. NEEDS TO BE RECALLED, DANGEROUS IF IN A ACCIDENT.
DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR WON'T OPEN OR UNLOCK, MANUALLY OR WITH FOB OR CEILING BUTTON.
THE ACTUATORS IN BOTH SLIDING DOORS HAVE FAILED. THE DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK AND CANNOT BE OPENED. THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR CANNOT BE LOCKED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. WE NEED TO EXIT THE CAR WHEN NEEDED AND NOT WORRY ABOUT WHETHER THE DOORS WILL OPERATE. LIKEWISE, WE NEED TO HAVE CONFIDENCE THAT OUR CAR IS LOCKED AND THAT NO ONE CAN ENTER WHILE WE'RE IN IT OR WHILE IT'S PARKED. THE REPAIR FOR THIS PROBLEM IS OVER $2000.00. THE LATCH SYSTEM IN MY SLIDING DOORS ARE GOING OUT. APPARENTLY THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH DODGE VANS, ESPECIALLY 2016 MODELS. I ONLY HAVE 58K ON THE VAN AND HAVE ONLY OWNED IT 2 YEARS. I MAINTAIN THE VAN WELL. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. A LOUD BUZZING SOUND OCCURS ANYTIME I PUSH ANY BUTTONS OR EXIT THE VEHICLE.
THE PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR IS STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION AND WILL NOT OPEN. THE LOCK ELECTRONIC LOCK SWITCH WILL NOT DISENGAGE, THE AUTOMATIC DOOR MECHANISM WILL NOT WORK, AND THE DOOR WILL NOT FUNCTION IN MANUAL MODE. AS A VAN WITH PASSENGERS IN THE BACK, THIS IS POSING A SAFETY HAZARD WITH PEOPLE HAVING TO EXIT THE VAN ON THE SIDE FACING TRAFFIC. IF THE DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR FAILS IN A SIMILAR FASHION, A GREATER SAFETY WOULD RESULT IF PEOPLE CANT EGRESS THE VEHICLE. THE LOCAL DODGE DEALER INDICATES THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE AND THAT THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE.
MY PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR STOPPED WORKING. I TRIED OPENING IT MANUALLY AND WITH THE KEY OFF AND DOME SWITCH, BUT NOT DOING ANYTHING. EVEN WITH VEHICLE IN START AND ALSO PARKED.

DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR IS STUCK IN THE LOCK POSITION. IT WONT UNLOCK WITH THE REMOTE, BUTTON INSIDE OR MANUALLY. KEEPS SHOWING ERROR MESSAFE IF YOU TRY TO OPEN IT THAT THE DOOR NEEDS TO BE UNKOCKED BUT WILL NOT UNLOCK. VERY UNSAFE SINCE MINIVANS ARE FOR FAMILY'S AND BOW IN THE CASE OF EMERGENCY I CANT OPEN THAT DOOR. ESPECIALLY SINCE THE VEHICAL HAS LESS THAN 60K MILES ON IT.
LEFT SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. PASSENGERS ON THAT SIDE WOULD BE TRAPPED IN THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY. IT WILL NOT OPEN WITH KEY FOB OR MANUALLY, FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE.

DOOR LOCK ACCUATOR FAILED CAUSING DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR TO BE UNABLE TO BE OPENED EITHER REMOTELY, BY DRIVER DOOR SWITCH OR MANUAL LEVER ON DOOR. THIS IS A GREAT SAFETY HAZARD TRAPPING SOMEONE IN THE CAR IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY. THE DRIVER SIDE FAILED 5/23/19. THE PASSENGER SIDE FAILED LAST YEAR BUT THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO COVER THE REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY. THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS ABLE TO OPEN BUT NOT LOCK. DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR CAN NOT OPEN.

THIS IS REGARDING MY 2016 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN (ONLY 45K MILES). BOTH SLIDING DOORS WERE WORKING FINE, THEN ON MAY 20, 2019 THE DRIVER'S SLIDING DOOR JUST FROZE--CAN'T OPEN IT ELECTRONICALLY OR MANUALLY. THE LOCK IS STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION AND THE POWER DOOR LOCK SWITCH WON'T MOVE THAT DOOR'S LOCK TO THE 'UNLOCK' POSITION. WHEN I TRY TO MOVE THE LOCK/UNLOCK BUTTON/LEVER ON THAT SLIDING DOOR, IT'S STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION--EVEN WITH A BUNCH OF FORCE I CAN'T MOVE THE LEVER TO THE UNLOCKED POSITION--I FEEL LIKE I'M GOING TO BREAK THE LEVER IF I FORCE IT TOO MUCH. SO THE DOOR IS BASICALLY UNUSABLE RIGHT NOW. I HAVE FOUR (4) CHILDREN AND THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AS THEY CANNOT EXIT THE VEHICLE IN A SAFE MANNER IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. THE DODGE DEALERSHIP I GO TO STATED THAT THIS IS A 'KNOWN PROBLEM' WITH DODGE GRAND CARAVANS AND THAT DODGE REFUSES TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE COST TO FIX THE ISSUE IS $506.59 THE BIGGER CONCERN IS THAT I WENT ON VARIOUS DODGE 'BLOG SITES' AND I COUNTED OVER 100 OTHER POSTS WHERE PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. I HOPE THAT YOU CAN HELP IN GETTING THIS ISSUE RESOLVED. I CANNOT SEE MYSELF PAYING $506.59 TO FIX AN ISSUE THAT IS OBVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. I LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR RESPOND.
