WHILE DRIVING THE ENTIRE VEHICLE INCLUDING ALL FUNCTIONAL SYSTEMS SIMPLY SHUTS OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED 2 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS. ALL SYSTEMS ARE LOST. BRAKES, STEERING, ENGINE, ETC. THERE IS NO ADVANCED WARING OR INDICATIONS. THERE ARE NO ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE TO FIX THIS MALFUNCTION WITH NO SUCCESS/PROGRESS. THIS IS CATASTROPHIC FAILURE BECAUSE ALL VEHICLE CONTROLS ARE LOST. BOTH TIMES THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN. ONCE IN THE CITY AND THE OTHER WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY.
OUR 2016 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN STALLS WHILE DRIVING. THERE IS NO INDICATION WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN. WHEN IT DOES HAPPEN, THE DASH INDICATORS LIGHT UP BRIEFLY AND THE ENGINE LOSES ALL POWER. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC ON THE ROAD. I HAVE SEEN HUNDREDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ONLINE FOR THIS VEHICLE. WE ARE ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS NOT ON AND THERE ARE NO ENGINE CODES WHEN WE RESTART. MANY OF THE COMPLAINTS I HAVE READ STATE THAT THE MECHANICS CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG BECAUSE THERE IS NO CODE AND CAN'T IMMEDIATELY RECREATE THE ISSUE. WE HAVE HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE. YET IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. OVER AND OVER. MY VEHICLE IS IN THE 5TH GENERATION OF THIS MODEL (2008 - 2020). ACCORDING TO WIKIPEDIA, WELL OVER 1 MILLION HAVE BEEN SOLD IN THE US ALONE. IF HUNDREDS (MAYBE THOUSANDS) OF PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM WITH THE SAME EXACT VEHICLE, THEN YOU KNOW THERE ARE MULTIPLES MORE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE. LOSING POWER WHILE DRIVING IS A MASSIVE SAFETY ISSUE, NOT JUST FOR THE VEHICLE THAT LOSES POWER, BUT FOR ALL VEHICLES AROUND IT. I AM DATING THIS AS OF 12/19/2020 BECAUSE IT HAPPENED TO ME AGAIN LAST NIGHT, BUT PLEASE NOTE THAT IT HAS HAPPENED REPEATEDLY OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS. THIS ISSUE SHOULD PROMPT A RECALL SO THAT NOBODY IS KILLED.
THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK. IT DOES NOT UNLOCK WITH THE KEY FOB, OR BY MANUALLY TRYING TO UNLOCK THE MECHANISM. THEREFORE, MY CHILDREN CANNOT EXIT THE CAR FROM THE DRIVERS' SIDE. THIS FIRST HAPPENED AFTER TRYING TO UNLOCK THE DOOR USING THE KEY FOB, WHILE PARKED, AND TRYING TO RE-ENTER THE CAR. THIS ISSUE PREVIOUSLY HAPPENED WITH THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE CAR AND MUST BE RECALLED.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADREST HAS DEPLOYED ON IT'S OWN WHILE PARKED IN A DRIVEWAY AND TURNED OFF. AFTER INSPECTION, THE PLASTIC BRACKETS THAT RETAIN THE METAL PIN THAT IS SUPPOSED TO SECURE THE HEADREST BROKE APART AND RELEASED THE HEADREST INTO A DEPLOYED POSITION. THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE BECOMES INJURED. THE HEADREST IS UNDER A SPRING LOADED FORCE THAT THE PLASTIC WAS NOT ENGINEERED TO RESTRAIN.
REAR LIFT WON'T OPEN SOMETIMES AND NOT MANUALLY EITHER. PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR MAKES A BUZZING SOUND WHEN UNLOCKED
TRANSMISSION LOSS OF POWER DRIVING DOWN INTERSTATE NOW SLIPS WHILE DRIVING LOCALLY
POWER SLIDING DOOR ON RIGHT SIDE MAKES BUZZING SOUND WHEN ANY FOOD IS OPENED.
I was rear-ended and the windshield on the drivers side come loose from the adhesive that holds it in. the windshield is not damaged but water comes into my vehicle now that the adhesive has failed.
THE SLIDING DOORS MAKE A LOUD BUZZING SOUND WHEN TRYING TO LOCK OR UNLOCK.
BOTH REAR SLIDING DOOR ACTUATORS HAVE FAILED WITHIN A MONTH. THE DOOR ACRE COMPLETELY UNUSABLE AND CANNOT BE OPEN
PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR LOCKS ARE FAILING. MAKE VERY LOUD BUZZING NOISE WHEN ACTIVATED. SOUNDS LIKE A WRONG ANSWER BUZZER... AND IT IS LOUD ENOUGH TO STARTLE PASSENGERS. ONE SIDE SEEMS TO NOT UNLOCK ON FIRST TRY. THIS HAPPENS ANYTIME LOCKS ARE ACTIVATED TO LOCK OR UNLOCK, BOTH WHILE MOVING AND WHILE STATIONARY.
THE DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK MANUALLY, I WAS TOLD IT IS A BAD ACTUATOR. THIS POSES A SAFETY RISK FOR PASSENGERS IN THE SECOND AND THIRD ROWS IF THEY MUST EXIT THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY. THIS IS A PREVALENT PROBLEM WITH IS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL AND SHOULD BE A RECALL DUE TO THE SAFETY RISKS
ALL OF A SUDDEN THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR IS FROZEN LOCKED AND WILL NOT OPEN. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING TO BE ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR - FROM OUTSIDE AND INSIDE AND IT DOES NOT UNLOCK OR OPEN. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE - IF MY GRANDCHILDREN ARE SITTING IN THE MIDDLE AND BACK SEATS - HOW WILL THEY GET OUT IN AN EMERGENCY?
TRANSMISSION STARTED MAKING A WHINING NOISE GOING DOWN THE ROAD THEN STOP PULLING HAVING TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AT 92000 MILES AND IT WAS SERVICE REGULAR WE BOUGHT THIS VAN IN 2016 WITH 4 MILES AND NO RECALL ON IT I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ONE DODGE GRAND CARAVAN
TRANSMISSION PUMP FAILED WHILE DRIVING AND RESULTING IN LOSS OF DRIVABILITY. VEHICLE BEGAN MAKING A WHINING SOUND WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE AND WE EXITED THE HIGHWAY. VEHICLE LOST ABILITY TO MOVE WHILE IN A PARKING LOT/DRIVE-THRU.
WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE BEGAN MAKING A VERY FAINT WHINING NOISE. I STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, AND THEN THE VEHICLE HAD TROUBLE ACCELERATING. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T MAKE IT UP THE DRIVEWAY; IT KEPT ROLLING BACKWARDS. AFTER READING OVER 100 COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, I'M PRETTY IRATE TO FIND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL, BUT MY VIN# ISN'T INCLUDED. THE WARRANTY ALSO COVERS THE POWERTRAIN UP TO 60K MILES AND I'M AT 61832, JUST OVER THE WARRANTY. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION ON A 4 YEAR OLD VEHICLE, WHEN NUMEROUS OTHERS ARE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME PROBLEM AND OTHER VEHICLES OF THE SAME MAKE/MODEL ARE UNDER RECALL.
WHEN EXITING THE FREEWAY, THE POWER GAVE OUT AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. HOWEVER, THE CAR DID NOT SHUT DOWN IT WAS STILL RUNNING BUT WAS UNABLE TO STEER. THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, HAD IT CHECKED OUT AND THERE'S ISSUES WITH THE HEADS. THERE HAS BEEN EXTENDES WARRANTIES FOR THIS ISSUE BUT VIN IS NOT INCLUDED.
THE TRANSMISSION PUMP HAS FAILED WHILE DRIVING AND NOW THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT SMOOTHLY IT JERKS AND SOMETIMES WON'T SHIFT AT ALL MAKING THE RPM'S GO VERY HIGH BEFORE IT SHIFT WITH A HARD JERK. MAKES A WHINING NOISE AND IS UNSTABLE.
THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN MAKING WHINING NOISES AROUND 52000 MILES TOOK TO GARAGE SAYS IT'S NORMAL AT 56000 IT WAS GETTING WORSE WHINING.. THEN AT 79000 THE TRANSMISSION STOPPED COMPLETELY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOSS MOTIVE POWER AND FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT GEARS CORRECTLY WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY TO HAVE THE COMPUTER WAS RESET HOWEVER, THE GEAR SHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR THEN BACK INTO NEUTRAL. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V461000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 96,000.
BOTH POWER SLIDING DOORS HAVE A VERY LOUD & ANNOYING BUZZ WHEN OPENING USING THE KEY FOB AS WELL AS WHEN THE VEHICLE REACHES A CERTAIN SPEED WHERE THE DOOR LOCKS AUTOMATICALLY LOCK.THE DIAGNOSIS IS DEFECTIVE POWER LOCK ACTUATORS. THE REPAIR IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND IF NOT REPAIRED, WILL CAUSE THE POWER DOORS TO FREEZE IN A LOCKED POSITION CREATING A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. A RECALL IS NEEDED IMMEDIATELY AS MOST IF NOT ALL OF THE DODGE GRAND CARAVANS IN THE 2015 THROUGH 2017 WILL EXPERIENCE THIS ISSUE.

LEGACY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1798 HIGHWAY 3175 N BYP, NATCHITOCHES, LA 71457) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL AND THAT THE REPAIR WOULD BE AN OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AS A TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000.
The right sliding door makes a very loud buzzing noise when it is unlocked. It does still work but when I have mentioned it to mechanics they have said they see this a lot with my vehicle and is likely a faulty door lock actuator.
VEHICLE WILL NOT SHIFT GEARS. WILL REV UP AND SLOW DOWN ON IT'S OWN BUT BARELY MOVES. STEPPING ON GAS PADDLE DOES NOT HELP PROBLEM AS IT WILL NOT SHIFT
RIGHT PASSENGER BACK SLIDING DOOR BUZZES WHEN OPEN WITH KEY OR DOOR LOCKS. VERY LOUD. DRIVER SIDE BACK SLIDING DOOR IS JAMMED SHUT. WILL NOT OPEN AT ALL. THIS IS A DANGER AND CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT EXIT FROM DOOR. DEALER SAID THEY CHARGE 155.00 JUST TO DIAGNOSE.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR DOES NOT UNLOCK OR OPEN. THE LOCKING MECHANISM IS STUCK IN THE LOCK POSITION AND DOES NOT ALLOW THE DOOR TO UNLOCK/OPEN. THIS HAPPENED WITHOUT ANY EXTERNAL CAUSE. THE DRIVER SIDE PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN AND IS "LOCKED". NO MANUAL OR FOB ATTEMPT WILL ALLOW ENTRY OR EXIT. IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO OPEN THIS DOOR. THIS IS REPORTED 100'S OF TIMES ON VARIOUS SITES AS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL.

THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V461000 (POWER TRAIN) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 88,973.
OUR SLIDING DOOR HAS SEIZED UP IN THE LOCK POSITION. WE ARE UNABLE TO OPEN IT AT ALL. AFTER READING HUNDREDS OF OTHER COMPLAINTS IT SOUNDS LIKE THE SLIDING DOOR ACTUATOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS ON ONE SIDE BUT NOW THE OTHER SIDE IS SOUNDING LIKE IT MAY GO AS WELL. HAVING DOORS WE CAN NOT OPEN IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED BEFORE WE ARE COMFORTABLE DRIVING WITH OUR CHILDREN AGAIN. THE VEHICLE IS A 2016 DODGE CARAVAN AND JUST BROKE 60K MILES. AVERAGE FIX IS OVER $1100 AND THE MECHANICS ARE ALL TO FAMILIAR WITH THE ISSUE.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE DIAGNOSED AND THAT HE WAS RESPONSIBLE TO PAY THE DIAGNOSTIC FEE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,888.
BOTH SLIDING DOORS ON MY VEHICLE ALL OF A SUDDEN STOPPED WORKING WITH NO WARNING GIVING. I'VE LOOKED INTO THIS AN SEEN THERE HAS BEEN MANY COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS ISSUE TO DODGE AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. UNABLE TO OPEN THE SLIDING DOORS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND PUTS PEOPLE LIVES IN DANGER ON A DAILY BASIS DUE TO NOT ADDRESSING THE ISSUE IMMEDIATELY. I AM REACHING OUT TO HAVE THIS ISSUE RESOLVED BEFORE SOMEONE LOSE THEIR LIFE TO THIS OR EITHER SOMEONE KIDS. IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY WITH AN FIRE, OR AND ACCIDENT AND PEOPLE NEED TO VACATE IMMEDIATELY THERE WILL BE LIVES LOST.
PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCK IS FROZEN IN THE LOCKED POSITION. CAN'T UNLOCK OR OPEN DOOR. THIS IS A FIRE/SAFETY HAZARD.
WHEN DOORS ARE UNLOCKED A LOUD CLICKING/GRINDING NOISE HAPPENS IN BACK PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR ..NOT SURE IF DOOR STAYS LOCKED..HAVEN'T REALLY TESTED IN WHILE IN MOTION
IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS THE BOTH SLIDING DOORS OF THE VAN HAVE NOT BEEN WORKING PROPERLY. TODAY SEPTEMBER 27, 2020 BOTH DOORS DO NOT OPEN AND STAY IN THE LOCK POSITION. IT IS ONLY ABLE TO OPEN BY PULLING THE LOCK TOWARDS UNLOCK POSITION AND THEN PULL THE HANDLE. THE KEY FOB AND THE OPEN DOOR BUTTONS IN THE CAR DO NOT WORK AND THERE IS A SLIGHT CLICK SOUND SOMETIMES BUT THE DOOR STAYS LOCKED. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE AS IF WE WERE TO CRASH OUR CHILDREN AND OR PASSENGERS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO EXIT THE CAR!!!!! SEEMS LIKE IT IS HAPPENING TO QUITE A FEW DODGE OWNERS.
TRANSMISSION ISSUES AS DESCRIBED IN THE TRANSMISSION RECALL FOR THE FUDGE GRAND CARAVANS IN 2016 HAPPENED TO US, LOSS OF POWER TO THE DRIVE TRAIN WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION AND MOVING. SEEMS OUR VIN IS NOT IN THE RECALL LIST.
The contact’s son owns a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle made an abnormal sound, the transmission unintendedly shifted, and the vehicle failed to return to normal operation. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to a different dealer, Turner Brothers Transmission (5612 Alma Hwy, Van Buren, AR 72956); where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 151,283.
MY 2016 DODGE CARAVAN RECENTLY STARTED A LOUD BUZZING NOISE AFTER THE DOOR LOCKS OR UNLOCKS. THIS BUZZING HAPPENS WHEN I UNLOCK/LOCK OR OPEN THE DOORS.
THE DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR GETS STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION AND WONT UNLOCK SO THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN ELECTRONICALLY OR MANUALLY.*DT CONSUMER HAS STATED DOOR HAS GOTTEN STUCK ON MULTIPE OCCASIONS, 3 TO 4 TIMES BEFORE IT WOULD OPEN.

ON FRIDAY SEPT 4TH I WAS USING MY VEHICLE NORMALLY . AFTER TURNING IT OFF AT MY HOME AFTER GOING TO THE BANK, I ATTEMPTED TO TURN IT BACK ON TO GO TO WORK AND IT WOULDN'T MOVE INTO GEAR. I PUT THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE, BUT THE ENGINE JUST MADE A REVVING SOUND AND DIDN'T MOVE. I TRIED REVERSE, NEUTRAL, DRIVE AND THE VEHICLE ONLY REVVED. AFTER MISSING WORK, WE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP THAT TOLD US A RECALL WAS NOT INCLUDING OUR VIN #. THEY EXPLAINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION PUMP WASN'T GETTING FLUID TO THE TRANSMISSION AND SINCE IT FAILED OUR TRANSMISSION WAS DAMAGED. WE OUR NOW FACING NEEDING A NEW TRANSMISSION. I DON'T SEE HOW THERE IS AN ACTIVE RECALL THAT INCLUDES MY MAKE AND YEAR AND VEHICLE TYPE BUT EXCLUDES MY VIN. IF I HAD BEEN AWARE OF A RECALL A SMALL REPAIR COULD HAVE BEEN MADE. NOW MY VEHICLE NEEDS AN ENTIRE NEW TRANSMISSION. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN DEADLY IF MY VEHICLE DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. A CARAVAN IS SOLD SPECIFICALLY AS A FAMILY VEHICLE. YET THIS COMPANY IS PUTTING MY BABIES AT RISK. IF THEIR TRANSMISSION PUMP IS BAD IT'S IN ALL THE CARAVANS, NOT JUST ONE OR TWO. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED BEFORE SOMEONE ACTUALLY GETS INJURED.
