MY VEHICLE WILL TURN OFF AS I AM DRIVING AND SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL NOT START, IT WILL CLICK AND ONLY AFTER ME SWITCHING MY GEAR INTO NEUTRAL AND STARTING THE CAR AGAIN WILL IT START. I HAVE LITERALLY SEEN AND HEARD A CLICK THE KEY SWITCHING TO THE "ACCESSORY" POSITION, THEN THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF. *TR
THE CENTER FOR AUTO SAFETY ISSUED A RELEASE IN AUG. 2011 REGARDING BRAKE PROBLEMS WITH 2009 DODGE JOURNEYS. I HAD BRAKE PROBLEMS IN NOV. 2011. I CONTACTED THE BOB FRENSLEY CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP TO INQUIRE ABOUT BRAKE WARRANTY AND WAS NOT TOLD ANYTHING ABOUT THE PROBLEMS WITH 2009 DODGE JOURNEY BRAKES. THE RELEASE IN AUG. 2011 SAYS CHRYSLER HAD WORKED OUT A DEDUCTIBLE PLAN WHERE ANY BRAKE WORK ON DODGE JOURNEY WITH MILEAGE BETWEEN 24,000 AND 36,000 WOULD NOT COST THE CUSTOMER MORE THAN A $100 DEDUCTIBLE. I WAS NOT INFORMED OF THIS WHEN I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND DECIDED TO GET THE BRAKE WORK COMPLETED AT BUDGET BRAKES CLOSER TO MY RESIDENCE. I FEEL I SHOULD HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THIS DEDUCTIBLE PROGRAM CHRYSLER HAD IMPLEMENTED ACCORDING TO THE CENTER FOR AUTO SAFETY RELEASE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD LOOSE HORSEPOWER, DRIVE SLUGGISHLY AND WOULD STALL AT ANYTIME. IN ADDITION, A WARNING SYMBOL IN THE SHAPE OF A THUNDER BOLT WOULD ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SPORADICALLY. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 83,000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 45 MPH WHEN THE ENGINE FAILURE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE ENGINE RPMS INCREASED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE BEYOND 45 MPH. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
MY COMPLAINT CONSISTS OF THE TIRES, STARTER, AND PRESSURE SENSORS ON MY 2009 DODGE JOURNEY. FIRST, THE CHEAPEST TIRES MY DEALER CAN FIND FOR MY VEHICLE ARE PRICED AT $225/TIRE. THUS, A $1000.00 COST FOR TIRE REPLACEMENT. THIS WOULD BE REASONABLE IF THE VEHICLE WAS A LUXURY VEHICLE I.E.: AUDI, BMW, CADILLAC, MERCEDES, ETC... HOWEVER, IT IS A DODGE. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE MY DODGE'S TIRES EVERY WINTER SINCE PURCHASE. THEREFORE, THESE PERFORMANCE TIRES ARE ONLY LASTING APPROXIMATELY 20,000/MILES A PIECE. AFFORDABLE, IS WHY I PURCHASED DODGE. I AM NOT RECEIVING THIS, NOT EVEN IN THE BASIC MAINTENANCE OF TIRES. NEXT, MY STARTER HAD TO BE REPLACED RECENTLY. I WAS TOLD THAT MANY DODGE JOURNEY STARTERS ARE "GOING." HOWEVER, WITH NO RECALL ON THE PART, I ENDED UP PAYING A $100.00 TOWARDS A DEDUCTIBLE THAT IS PART OF MY WARRANTY. FINALLY, I HAD TO REPLACE TWO TIRE SENSORS AS WELL ON MY VEHICLE THIS YEAR. AGAIN, NO RECALL ON THE PART. THEREFORE, A $100.00 DEDUCTIBLE WAS REQUIRED. I AM DISAPPOINTED THAT DESPITE MY WARRANTY I AM PAYING DEDUCTIBLES AND DESPITE OTHER NUMEROUS JOURNEYS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS THE PARTS AREN'T BEING RECALLED. I AM FORCED TO SPEND $1000.00 ON TIRES EVERY 20,000 MILES ON TOP OF MY ACTUAL MONTHLY CAR PAYMENT >$500.00. THE ABOVE EXPENSES SHOULD DEFINITELY NOT BE REQUIRED ON A BRAND NEW CAR. *TR
THE BRAKES/ROTORS GOING OUT FASTER THAN THEY SHOULD. CANT REALLY EVEN GET 3000 MILES OUT OF THEM. *TR
VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. ALL LIGHTS WORKED, BUT NOTHING ELSE. IT COULD NOT BE TAKEN OUT OF PARK. TOW TRUCK DRIVER TRIED TO JUMP START, BUT BATTERY WAS GOOD. HE HAD TO DRAG THE FWD VEHICLE INTO A POSITION WHERE HE COULD TOW IT FROM THE FRONT. DEALER SAID CAUSE WAS THE WIN MODULE (OVER $300 AND IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY). THERE COULD BE MORE ISSUES BUT THEY WILL NOT KNOW UNTIL PART ARRIVES. THERE APPEAR TO BE MANY ISSUES WITH THIS PART ON THIS AND OTHER DODGE VEHICLES, BUT NO RECOGNITION OF A SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
AT 37,600 MILES THE CARS ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL INDICATOR LIT AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE DEALERSHIP REPORTED IT WAS A BAD STARTER. IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND THE TOTAL COST OF REPAIR WAS $386.00. AT 41,000 MILES THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL INDICATOR LIGHT WENT ON AGAIN AND THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN. THE DEALERSHIP REPORTED IT WAS A BAD THROTTLE BODY AND THIS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $613.00. AS OF THIS DATE THE TOTAL COST OF REPAIRS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL, HAS BEEN $999.00. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2009 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STOP ON THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE HAPPENED THREE TIMES INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS OR REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000. CAR WON'T START AT RANDOM INTERVALS. WILL NOT MAKE ANY NOISE, JUST A CLICK. STARTED ROUGHLY A YEAR AGO, AFTER A FEW MINUTES IT WOULD START AGAIN. NOW I WAIT MORE THAN A HALF HOUR. I PURCHASED A 2009 DODGE JOURNEY (VIN: [XXX]) ON SEPTEMBER 19, 2011 FROM THE STETLER DODGE CAR DEALERSHIP IN YORK, PA. IT WAS A CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED CAR. SINCE THAT DAY I BOUGHT THE CAR I HAVE BEEN BACK THERE OVER 4 TIMES FOR VARIOUS PROBLEMS. THE FIRST TIME WAS ABOUT 2 WEEKS AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR (10/3/11), BUT THIS LAST TIME WAS IT FOR ME. THE CAR MAKES A HISSING NOISE WHEN I PRESS THE BRAKES, NOT ALL OF THE TIMES BUT A LOT. DURING THE WINTER MONTHS, I HADN'T NOTICED ANYTHING ELSE OCCURRING ALONG WITH THE NOISE, BUT I HAD STILL TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP NOT LONG AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS NOTHING BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T HEAR THE SOUND. SO, WHEN IT GOT VERY HOT, I TURNED THE AIR CONDITIONER ON IN THE CAR. I NOTICED THAT IF I TAKE A LONG TRIP, ABOUT AN HOUR OR SO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY, A FUME/GAS SMELL IS RELEASED INTO THE CAR WHEN THE AIR IT ON. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 7/10/12 FOR THIS ISSUE. THEY COULDN'T GET THE SMELL TO OCCUR, BUT I TOLD THEM THAT IT HAPPENED AFTER I TOOK LONG TRIPS. THERE IS ALSO A GRINDING/HUMMING NOISE THAT OCCURS SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING AND IT HAPPENED TWICE WHEN THEY WERE DRIVING IT WITH ME IN THE CAR, BUT THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS THEY SAY. I WAS TOLD TO BRING IT BACK IF THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE, EVEN THOUGH I HAD ALREADY TOLD THEM IT WAS ALREADY GETTING WORSE, THAT'S WHY I TOOK IT IN. THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES WHEN I PRESS THE BRAKES. THE BRAKES AND ROTORS ARE NOT GOOD. THE GEAR SHIFT MOVES EASILY WITHOUT THE BRAKE BEING PRESSED SO IT WILL GO INTO PARK WHILE DRIVING. THE CAR FINALLY STALLED WHILE DRIVING ON JULY 25, 2012. IT'S IN THE SHOP AGAIN. THEY SAY A BOX OR CASE IS LEAKING BADLY AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. COUNTLESS OTHER PROBLEMS BUT NOT ENOUGH CHARACTER SPACE ALLOTTED TO TELL. I HAVE 3 PAGES OF PROBLEMS. FRONT BRAKES HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE SO FAR. TOLD BY DEALER THEY WERE REPLACED AT 19000 WITH ORIGINAL TYPE THAT HAD PROBLEMS BECAUSE THEY WERE TOLD TO. HAD THOSE REPLACED AT 29000 WHEN STEERING BECAME WOBBLY AS BRAKES APPLIED. ASKED IF I WAS GETTING 10000 MILE BRAKES AGAIN AND WAS TOLD THEY PUT ON WHAT THEY ARE TOLD BY MANUFACTURER. *TR

THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A MISFIRE IN CYLINDER FIVE AND REPAIRED THE FAILURE BY CLEARING OUT THE CARBON CORROSION, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 32,600. KMJ

BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED FROM A TOYOTA DEALER ,THE BRAKES WERE PULSATING FROM WARPED ROTORS ,HAD A BRAKE JOB DONE AND NOW THE BRAKES ARE SQUEALING, /AND NOW THE SECOND THING THE VEHICLE HESITATES TO START, YOU HAVE TO KEEP TURNING THE KEY ON AND OFF TO GET IT TO START ,WHEN YOU TRY TO START IT JUST CLICKS ONE TIME ,IF WERE A BAD CONNECTION ON THE BATT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIPM AND THE IGNITION MODULE WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED TO PAY FOR HALF OF THE REPAIR COST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE VALVE STEM FRACTURED DUE TO CORROSION. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE BY REPLACING ALL FOUR VALVE STEMS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,600 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,650.
TOOK MY DODGE JOURNEY 2009 SXT- AWD ON 09/16/2011 TO THE DEALER BECAUSE THE ENGINE WOULD NOT CRANK, THEY MADE THE REPAIRS. AT CHECK-OUT I WAS TOLD THE VEHICLE NEEDED 4 NEW TIRES. AT THE TIME THE VEHICLE HAD 31,328 MILES. *TR
I PURCHASED THE CAR IN JANUARY AND HAD TO PUT FRONT BRAKES AND ROTORS ON IT. IN OCTOBER THE REAR BRAKES AND ROTORS HAD TO BE REPLACED. NOW IT'S NOVEMBER AND THE FRONT BRAKES ARE GOING OUT AGAIN. I HAVE CHECKED THE CALIPERS FOR PROPER OPERATION AND THEY APPEAR TO BE FINE. THE BRAKES JUST KEEP WEARING OUT. I OWNED MY LAST VEHICLE FOR MUCH LONGER AND NEVER HAD TO REPLACE THE BRAKES ON IT. THE BRAKES ON MY JOURNEY WERE NEW WHEN I BOUGHT IT. I SEE NO REASON FOR A VEHICLE TO NEED AT LEAST 3 SETS OF FRONT BRAKES BEFORE IT EVEN HITS 60,000 MILES. *TR

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

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 68,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I BOUGHT MY CAR USED IN FEBRUARY 2011 WITH 26000 MILES ON IT. SINCE THEN, I HAVE PUT 10,000 MILES ON IT AND HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT AND REAR BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS TWICE. THE BRAKES WEAR PREMATURELY AND MAKE A LOUD GRINDING NOISE THAT YOU CAN FEEL IN THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE DEALERSHIP NEEDS TO RECALL THE FAULTY BRAKE SYSTEM ON THESE VEHICLES. I CAN'T CONTINUE TO PAY $600+ EVERY 6 MONTHS ON BRAKES. THIS IS RIDICULOUS! *TR

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY START THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED ONCE MORE APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,300. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
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
BRAKING SYSTEM OF 2009 DODGE JOURNEY IS DEFECTIVE, REPLACED ONCE AND REPLACING AGAIN AS ROTORS ARE WARPING DUE TO THIN MATERIAL. IF I DO NOT PAY TO REPLACE THE ROTORS, I WILL CERTAINLY LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE IF I NEED TO MAKE IMMEDIATE STOP BECAUSE THE VEHICLE SHAKES VIOLENTLY WHEN BRAKING. I NOTICED MY 2009 DODGE JOURNEY STARTED BURNING OIL. I TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP KEFFER CHRYSLER JEEP EAGLE TO HAVE A CONSUMPTION TEST RUN ON IT. COME TO FIND OUT MY JOURNEY BURNED ALMOST 4 QUARTS OF OIL AFTER 1700 MILES. THERE WERE NOT WARNING LIGHTS THAT CAME ON TO TELL ME THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH MY CAR. I BOUGHT MY CAR NEW WITH 12 MILES ON IT. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT CHRYSLER TO SEE IF THEY WOULD PAY MINE OFF AND I WOULD UPGRADE. EVERYONE I TALKED TO KEEP SAYING THEY CAN NOT MAKE THOSE DECISIONS, MAYBE CONTACT THE NHTSA. CHRYSLER HAS NOT REPLIED BACK YET. THE DEALER I AM WORKING WITH SEEMS TO BE MORE INTERESTED IN MAKING A NEW SALE WITH OTHERS THEN ADDRESSING THE CURRENT ISSUES WITH A LOYAL DODGE/CHRYSLER OWNER. RECEIVED A LETTER FROM DODGE A FEW WEEKS BACK WHICH REFERENCED POSSIBLE BRAKE PROBLEMS ON THE 2009 DODGE JOURNEY WE PURCHASED NEW IN 2009. OUR DAUGHTER IS A COLLEGE STUDENT AND HAS ONLY PUT ON 22,000 MILES OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS. AN APPT HAS BEEN MADE WITH A LOCAL DEALERSHIP, BUT WHEN I DROVE IT FOR THE FIRST TIME TODAY, I COULD NOT BELIEVE THE METAL-ON-METAL SOUND THAT EMITTED FROM THE FRONT BRAKES. THE BRAKE PEDAL HAD TO BE PUSHED DOWN WITH FORCE TO ACHIEVE A TOTAL STOP. WE HAVE NEVER HAD A VEHICLE THAT REQUIRED ANY TYPE BRAKE REPAIRS AFTER SUCH A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME AND I TOTALLY RESENT THE FACT THAT THERE IS ANYWHERE FROM A $50 TO $100 DEDUCTIBLE FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE COVERED BY DODGE. THESE BRAKES SOUND LIKE THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LEFT. THE SOUND EVEN REMAINED FOR A WHILE EVEN AFTER I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL. I HAVE A 2009 DODGE JOURNEY SXT AWD. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL ISSUES SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN OCT 2008. THE ISSUES WERE BRAKE/CALIPER FAILURE, WATER LEAK, WIRING HARNESS, IGNITION FAILURE ETC(THE LIST GOES ON). RECENTLY ON JULY 10-13 2011 MY VEHICLE WOULD AUTOMATICALLY STALL WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP OR IDEAL BRAKIN. I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE IN TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT REASON FOR STALLING. THE STATED IT WAS DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION WIRE BEING FRIED AND IT WAS GOING TO COST ME $227 TO REPLACE WIRE. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND PLACED A CASE IN REGARDS TO MY CONCERN AS I FELT THIS WAS A WARRANTY/SAFETY ISSUE. I ALSO, INQUIRED ABOUT THE BUY BACK PROGRAM AS EVERY 3K TO 6K MILES SOMETHING GOES WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE THAT IS NEVER MINOR. I WAS WITHOUT A VEHICLE FOR 3 DAYS DUE TO THE NEGLIGENCE AND FOLLOW-UP BETWEEN CHRYSLER CASE MANAGER AND DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE MANAGER. I HAD NO TRANSPORTATION LEAVING MYSELF AND CHILD STRANDED. I GOT A FLAT AND WAS TOLD TO RIDE ON THE DONUT UNTIL THEY COULD LOCATE A NEW TIRE, 12 DAYS LATER STILL NO TIRE, I DEMANDED THE DEALER SELL ME A TIRE OFF OF A CAR IN THE LOT, THEY FINALLY AGREED. HOWEVER, I WAS CALLED AFTER I LEFT THE CAR AND TOLD THAT BECAUSE IT IS AWD ALL 4 TIRES MUST BE REPLACED OR IT WILL DAMAGE MY TRANSMISSION AND THAT POSSIBLY, I ALREADY HAVE DAMAGED DUE TO DRIVING ON DONUT. HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO BUY 4 NEW TIRES, WHILE AT DEALER HAVING 4 NEW , LARGER TIRES (235 55 R19) PUT ON THE DEALER BROKE VALVE SENSOR ON 2ND TIRE, 1ST TIME THEY BROKE ONE WAS IN MARCH 2011. VEHICLE HAS 31,000 MILES ON IT AND THE SENSORS SHOULD LAST A MINIMUM OF 5 YEARS. DEALER WILL NOT COVER UNDER WARRANTY. AFTER PAYING $827 TO REPLACE 4 TIRES, WHEN I ONLY NEEDED 1 NEW TIRE AND 2 MISSING VALVE SENSORS, I DROVE OFF THE LOT AND THE VEHICLE AGAIN LOST POWER, DEALER HAS HAD VEHICLE IN AT LEAST 4 TIMES TO FIX PROBLEM IN THE PAST, THEY STILL HAVE NOT RESOLVED OR LOCATED THE PROBLEM. I RESTARTED VEHICLE AND IT DIED AGAIN, RESTARTED A 3RD TIME AND I LOST ALL DASH LIGHTING. THIS WAS WITHIN AN 8TH OF MILE OF THE DEALER LOCATION. I TURNED THE CAR AROUND AND RETURNED IT TO THE DEALER, WHICH IS WHERE IT REMAINS UNTIL THEY CAN FIX IT!!
