TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING IN REVERSE 3 MPH IN HIS GARAGE, HE SMELLED A BURNING ODOR. A FEW WEEKS LATER AFTER DRIVING FIFTEEN MILES AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, HE SMELLED SMOKE AND SAW IT BEHIND THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WERE WAITING FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING THE FAILURE FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 5,300. THE POWER TRANSFER SEAL UNIT WAS REPLACED. UPDATED 11/12/10
BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS. BRAKE PADS WEAR AWAY WAY PREMATURE AND ROTORS ALSO WEAR TO FAST. *TR
I HAVE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE WITH THIS CAR EVER SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR THE CAR STALLS WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING, THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR FILLS UP WITH WATER AND IT IS ALWAYS HEATING UP, AT FOUR YEARS OLD I HAD TO REPLACE THE EVAPORATOR COIL AND HEATER COIL WHICH IS A $1200 JOB. I AM A TEACHER I DON'T HAVE MONEY JUST DROPPING OUT OF THE SKY I PURCHASED A NEW CAR SO THAT I WOULDN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ISSUES OF USED CARS. I AM ONE WHO ALWAYS KEEPS UP WITH THE ANNUAL MAINTENANCE OF MY VEHICLES. DRIVING THIS CAR IS VERY DANGEROUS AND DODGE SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE ISSUES. BY THE WAY IT TAKES 15-20 MINUTES SOMETIMES TO GET THE CAR TO START UP. I AM REALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH DODGE I WAS PLANNING KEEPING THIS CAR FOR AT LEAST TEN YEARS NOW I MAYBE FORCED TO GET A NEW CAR NOTE AS SOON AS I AM FINISHED WITH THIS JUST TO HAVE A RELIABLE VEHICLE THAT WONT INDANGER MY LIFE. FRONT BRAKE CALIPERS HEAT UP SO MUCH THAT THEY'VE WARPED 3 SETS OF ROTORS. ROTORS TURNED AT 19,000. REPLACED AT 30,000. START PULSING AFTER FIRST LONG TRIP. REPLACED AT 52,000, AGAIN, START PULSING AFTER FIRST LONG TRIP. THIS CALIPER DESIGN OR MATERIAL IS DEFECTIVE. DEALER SAYS IT'S DRIVING STYLE. VERY WRONG. I HAVE 35 YEARS AS A DRIVER/ MECHANIC. CAN MAKE FRONT BRAKE PADS LAST OVER 50,000 MILES ON MOST VEHICLES. THIS ISSUE CAUSES EXTREME WHEEL SHAKE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. CAN BE ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS WHEN TURNING AND BRAKING. THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH ALL DODGE JOURNEYS EQUIPPED WITH OPTIONAL 19" WHEELS. THE CALIPERS ARE TOO SMALL,OR OF POOR DESIGN, TO DISSIPATE THE HEAT. I WANT TO REQUEST THESE BE RECALLED TO FIX THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR VALVE HAD FRACTURED ON EACH TIRE EXCEPT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE. AFTER THE FIRST FAILURE, THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. AFTER THE SECOND FAILURE, THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT THE PARTS FOR REPAIR WERE ON NATIONAL BACKORDER. THE VEHICLE WAS EVENTUALLY REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT YET BEEN REPAIRED AFTER THE THIRD FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 25,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 35,000. FRONT ROTORS AND FRONT AND REAR BRAKES ALL HAD TO BE CHANGED AT 21,000 MILES AND AGAIN AT 31,000 MILES. NOW ROTORS REQUIRE TURNING AGAIN DUE TO PULSATION. *KB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, WHEN THE BRAKES WERE DEPRESSED, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS SHAKING AND THE BRAKES WOULD NOT STOP THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY. THE CONTACT STATED THEY HAD ALSO NOTICED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO GEAR THE VEHICLE SHUDDERED. THE PROBLEM RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR THE DIAGNOSIS AND STATED THAT THE BRAKES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
FREQUENTLY ALL EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR LIGHTS FLASH ON AND OFF, WINDSHIELD WIPERS GOING OFF, DOORS WILL NOT UNLOCK, WINDOWS WILL NOT GO DOWN, DASH PANEL FLASHING (IT IS AS THOUGH THE CAR IS POSSESSED, THE PANEL WILL SHOW THE GAS TANK AS EMPTY, THE TEMP GAUGE RISES TO HOT AND I HAVE TO PULL OVER FOR FEAR OF ENGINE ACTUALLY OVERHEATING) PERIODICALLY WHILE IN THIS MODE, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN INTO 2 DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS. ELECTRICAL CODES WERE COMING UP BUT COULD NO'T BE IDENTIFIED, MULTIPLE LOSS OF COMMUNICATION CODES OF THE INTERIOR COULD NOT BE IDENTIFIED (THEY WERE UNABLE TO PIN POINT WHERE THEY WERE COMING FROM) I WAS ADVISED TO BRING IT BACK WHEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN. FINALLY FRIDAY, MARCH 13, 2015 THE CAR STARTED GOING HAYWIRE AND I WAS ABLE TO GET INTO THE DEALERSHIP. WHILE THE CAR WAS RUNNING THEY WERE ABLE TO DIAGNOSE AND REGISTERED MULTIPLE LOSS OF COMMUNICATION CODES COMING FROM DOOR WINDOWS AND DASH BOARD, THEY FOUND THEY WERE ALL CONNECTED TO THE TIBM. DUE TO ALL OF THE ELECTRICAL RECALLS WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, IT IS MY OPINION THAT THEY HAVE KNOWN ALL ALONG THAT THE JOURNEYS HAD ELECTRICAL ISSUES. THE 2012 MODEL WAS RECALLED BECAUSE OF THEM. I FEEL TIBM HAS BEEN THE ISSUE ALL ALONG. I TRAVEL BACK AND FORTH 100 MILES WEEKLY SOME TIMES TWICE A WEEK ON THE HIGHWAY PICKING KIDS UP FROM SCHOOL AND CAN NOT AFFORD TO BE STRANDED ON THE HIGHWAY NOR CAN I AFFORD TO PURCHASE A NEW VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP IS CHARGING ME OVER 1200.00 FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE TIBM. I CALLED CHRYSLER/DODGE CARE AND THEY STATED BECAUSE MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY, THEY CAN'T HELP ME. I AM CURRENTLY IN DISPUTE WITH THEM BECAUSE, THESE PROBLEMS WERE HAPPENING WHILE THE CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY HELD MY CAR FOR WEEKS TRYING TO IDENTIFY THE ISSUE. I AM AWAITING A RESPONSE FROM DODGE CASE WORKER. *TR
APPROXIMATELY EVERY 15-20K MILES, THE BRAKE SYSTEM AND TIRES WEAR COMPLETELY, REQUIRING FULL REPLACEMENT. CHRYSLER/DODGE IS AWARE, BUT CHOOSES TO OFFER ONLY MINOR ASSISTANCE, AND PITHY EXCUSES, EVEN GOING SO FAR AS TO BLAME IT ON "WOMEN DRIVERS". *TR
MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WAS THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS COMPLETELY STOPPING WHILE POURING DOWN RAIN. I ALMOST REAR-ENDED SOMEONE. THE WIPER MOTOR HAS BEEN REPLACED NUMEROUS TIMES. MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF WHILE I AM DRIVING OR SOMETIMES JUST PUTTING MY CAR IN REVERSE. IT IS CURRENTLY IN THE SHOP AGAIN. PLUS, MY BRAKES ARE ALREADY GONE AND THE CAR IS ONLY A YEAR OLD.
I PURCHASED A 2009 DODGE JOURNEY, USED BUT ONLY 40000 MILES. IN 8 WEEKS OF OWNING IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 5 TIMES, 3 TIMES FOR THE SAME REASON A TICKING IN THE ENGINE. THE MOST RECENT WAS CORROSION OF THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR. REALLY CORROSION IN A 2009 VEHICLE. THERE IS ALSO A GRINDING SOUND WHEN I TURN THE WHEEL YET NOONE CAN SEEM TO FIND THE PROBLEM OF THAT. I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED THE STRUTS AND MOUNTS (THANK GOD UNDER WARRANTY) THAT WAS A WEEK AFTER I HAD THE CAR. I HAVE A 15 MONTH OLD AND IT SCARES ME THAT SOMETHING SERIOUS COULD HAPPEN WHEN SHE IS RIDING WITH ME. I MAKE JUST ENOUGH MONEY TO PAY MY BILLS AND I AM SCARED THAT SOMETHING, NOW THAT MY CAR IS NOT UNDER A WARRANTY, WILL HAPPEN AND I WILL BE WITHOUT A CAR. I HAVE A 09 JOURNEY, BOUGHT A YEAR AGO. BRAKES FRONT AND BACK HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED AND NEED REPLACEMENT AGAIN. INTERIOR LIGHTS DIM WHEN WIPERS OR OTHER ELECTRONIC CONTROLS ARE OPERATED. ENGINE MAKES NOISE AS THOUGH THE LIFTERS AREN'T GETTING OIL--HAD IT IN SHOP FOR THAT AND THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING AND IT IS GETTING WORSE. RIGHT SIDE FRONT WHEEL SOUNDS LIKE BEARING IS HAVING ISSUES TOO. PRODUCT IS DANGEROUS--BRAKES AND NOT BEING TAKEN CARE OF UNDER WARRANTY--DEALER, HAVE 26,000 MILES ON IT
I PURCHASED A 2009 DODGE JOURNEY, IN MAY OF 2009. BY MARCH 22, 2010, THE BRAKES WERE COMPLETELY GONE. THE PADS WERE METAL TO METAL AND THE ROTORS WERE COMPLETELY SHOT. THE VEHICLE HAD 22,200 MILES ON IT. I HAVE A 3 YEAR AND 36,000 MILE WARRANTY WHICH DON JACKSON IS TRYING NOT TO HONOR. *DT
WE BOUGHT A 2009 DODGE JOURNEY SXT BACK IN MAY 09. IN THE LAST MONTH FEB 2010 ON, THE AUTOMATIC LOCKING/SECURITY MECHANISM FOR THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR HAS FAILED (SCHEDULED TO BE LOOKED IN TWO DAYS) AND TODAY OUR TRANSMISSION/GEARBOX LITERALLY EXPLODED UNDER THE HOOD AT 6,000 MILES. WE WERE DRIVING DOWN A BACK ROAD ON THE WAY TO STORE WHEN A STRING SMELL OF BURNING CAME INTO THE CABIN AND THEN WE HEARD A SEVERE POP AND THEN NOTHING BUT BILLOWING SMOKE. WE HAD OUR TWO YOUNG CHILDREN IN CAR SEATS AND IMMEDIATELY STOPPED THE VEHICLE TO TRY AND GET THEM AWAY FROM THE POSSIBILITY OF THE ENGINE BEING ON FIRE. WE GOT THE KIDS OUT AND I WENT BACK TO SHUT OFF THE CAR ONCE I SAW IT WASN'T FUEL LEAKING. ONCE IT COOLED DOWN AND STOPPED SMOKING I RAISED THE HOOD AND SAW WHAT LOOKED TO BE BURNT TRANSMISSION FLUID AND SMALL METAL FLAKES ALL OVER MY ENGINE AND UNDERSIDEOF THE HOOD. SO IT WAS JUST TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO FIND THE CAUSE. SO NOW I HAVE A CAR WITH A FAULTY SECURITY SYSTEM AND POSSIBLY NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION AND WE ONLY HAVE 6,000 MILES ON THE CAR. STILL WAITING FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO DO THE WORK. ON A SIDE NOTE, WITH ALL OF THESE ISSUES ON A BRAND NEW CAR WE MAY BE EXPLORING LEGAL OPTIONS IF CHRYSLER DOESN'T MAKE THIS RIGHT. *TR
AT 19,000 MILE I HAD TO REPLACE THE BRAKES, THEN ANOTHER 41,000 REPLACE BRAKES, AT 66,000 REPLACE BRAKES, AND REAR BRAKES LOOKED UP AT THE COST OF 650.00. REPLACING BRAKES 90,000 AGAIN!! THIS HAS BEEN THE MOST EXPENSIVE "FAMILY CAR" I HAVE EVER OWNED. TIRES- I HAVE HAD 4 SETS OF TIRES!! THEY ONLY MADE ONE TIRE (KUMO) FOR A 19" RIM AT A COSTLY EXPENSE. NOW GOODYEAR MAKES A TIRE THAT IS A BETTER GRADE. I HAVE HAD MORE MONEY IN THIS CAR THAN ITS WORTH. NEVER WILL BUY A DODGE AGAIN. THEY CUT A LOT OF COST BUILDING THIS CAR!! BRAKES, TIRES AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. I HAVE TO GET NEW TIRES ALREADY AND I ONLY HAVE 36,000 MILES ON THE CAR. I HAVE HAD TO CHANGE THE BRAKES FRONT AND BACK 3 TIMES ALREADY. I AM ABOUT TO HAVE TO CHANGE THE ROTOR ON ALL 4 WHEELS. WHEN I TURN THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS OFF THE HEAD LIGHTS FLASH OFF AND BACK ON. THEN WHILE DRIVING THE DASH LIGHTS WILL FLASH OFF AND ON AGAIN. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE DEALER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND STATED THAT THERE WERE PIECES OF METAL IN THE TRANSMISSION FLUID PAN. THE DEALER RESET THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ACCORDINGLY. THE CONTACT ALSO EXPERIENCED BRAKE FAILURE IN THE PAST AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASION FOR BRAKE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,200 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
WHEN I BOUGHT MY CAR IN 2009. I NOTICED THAT MY BRAKES SQUEAKED WHEN I STOP I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, I WAS TOLD THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG. KEEP COMPLAINING ALL THE TIME, THEN THE VIBRATION STARTED AND I NEEDED ROTORS AND BRAKES. THE AFTERMARKET BRAKES DOESN'T FIT HAD TO REPLACE THEM WITH THE DEALERSHIP BRAKES. HAD TO REPLACE A TWO TIRE SENSORS. HAD TO HAVE MY ROTORS RESURFACED WILL NEED NEW ROTORS. RECENTLY THE ENGINE COOLANT OVERHEATING LIGHT CAME ON. THE FAN STOP WORKING ITS ELECTRICAL THE MECHANIC CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY IT STOP. MY CAR SOMETIMES DOESN'T START, TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC. NO REASON WHY. WHEN MY AIR IS ON IT TAKES THE CAR LONGER TO GAIN SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT AND DODGE. BOTH WERE RUDE AND DIDN'T OFFER ANY HELP. I PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND IT DIDN'T COVER ANYTHING. *TR
ON MONDAY, MARCH 8, 2010, MY WIFE, TWO YEAR OLD DAUGHTER AND I SUFFERED A THIRD EPISODE OF THE FOLLOWING DANGEROUS MALFUNCTIONS: STEERING, TRANSMISSION AND DRIVETRAIN ISSUES THAT, WITHOUT NOTICE, RESULT IN AN UNBEARABLE SCREECHING AND GRINDING NOISE EMANATING FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 15 AND 30 MPH, A PAUSE AND HESITATION IN ACCELERATION BETWEEN SPEEDS OF 15 AND 30 M.P.H. THAT CAUSES THE CAR TO JUMP FORWARD, THE IMMEDIATE LOSS OF ACCURATE STEERING AND A BURNING SMELL THROUGHOUT THE CAR INTERIOR WE SUFFERED THE MOST RECENT EPISODE, WITHOUT NOTICE, WHILE DRIVING THROUGH RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AT 7:45 A.M. WE WAITED TWO HOURS FOR A TOW TRUCK TO ARRIVE. FORTUNATELY, MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER WERE ONLY SHAKEN, BUT NOT INJURED. IN THE LAST THREE MONTHS, WE HAVE HAD AN UNSAFE REAR TIRE REPLACED, SUNROOF PARTS REPLACED FOR CONSTANT LEAKING, A NEW ELECTRONIC MODULE INSTALLED TO PREVENT THE EPISODES OF THE ENTIRE ELECTRONIC SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONING CAUSING THE LOSS OF CAR FUNCTION AND DOOR LOCKS AND MULTIPLE POWER STEERING PARTS REPLACED. *TR

VEHICLE WILL SHAKE AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND WHEN ATTEMPTING TO STOP. SOMETIMES WHEN ATTEMPTING TO STOP BRAKES WILL GRIND AND HAVE DIFFICULTY STOPPING. SERVICE MANAGER AT DEALERSHIP HAS TOLD ME THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE, HOWEVER, HAVE YET TO RECEIVE ASSISTANCE TO REMEDY ONGOING SITUATION REGARDING BRAKING SYSTEM AND COMPONENTS. *TR
WE BOUGHT A 2009 DODGE JOURNEY IN 5/09. ABOUT A WEEK AGO, I NOTICED MY BRAKES WERE NOT STOPPING LIKE THEY USE TO, A FEW DAYS LATER THEY STARTING SQUEEZING REALLY BAD AND THE BRAKES GOT WORSE. FINALLY ON FRIDAY, MARCH 5TH MY BRAKES WENT COMPLETELY OUT. I TOOK MY CAR TO FIRESTONE AUTO CENTER AND WAS TOLD THAT BOTH MY FRONT AND BACK BRAKE SYSTEM WAS COMPLETELY GONE, THE SERVICE GENTLEMEN AT FIRESTONE COULDN'T BELIEVE THAT BOTH FRONT AND BACK WERE COMPLETELY GONE ON A CAR THAT HAD THE MILEAGE WE DO. I HAD TO REPLACE BOTH WHICH COST ME $1500. I CALLED DODGE TO TELL THEM ABOUT WHAT HAD HAPPENED BUT THEY DIDN'T SEEM TO CARE. I TALKED TO GEDIE IN THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND HE SAID THEY WEREN'T GOING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BECAUSE BRAKES WEAR DOWN AND THANKS FOR CALLING DODGE CHRYSLER. BUT WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS WHY THE BRAKES ARE GOING OUT SO SOON ON A VEHICLE WITH ONLY 22,116 MILES ON IT. I THINK BETWEEN MY HUSBAND AND I, WE'VE OWNED AROUND 6 CARS AND I'VE ONLY HAD TO REPLACE BRAKES ON ONE CAR THAT HAD OVER 60,000 MILES ON IT. I THINK THAT THIS NEEDS TO GET LOOKED INTO BECAUSE FROM MY RESEARCH I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS THIS ISSUE WITH THIS TYPE OF CAR, I DID FIND ONE PERSON WHO HAD 12,500 MILES ON HIS VEHICLE AND HE HAD TO REPLACE BOTH BRAKE SYSTEMS AS WELL. IF I WOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE BOTH BRAKE SYSTEMS SO QUICKLY I WOULDN'T HAVE BOUGHT THIS CAR. DODGE NEEDS TO FIX THE PROBLEM BEFORE IT BECOMES ANOTHER 'TOYOTA' ISSUE AND REIMBURSE THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD TO REPLACE BOTH BRAKE SYSTEMS ON A BRAND NEW CAR. *TR
THIS JOURNEY HAS HAD PREMATURE WEARING ON THE BRAKES AND ROTORS. WE HAVE HAD THE CAR 3 YEARS NOW AND HAVE HAD BRAKES DONE AT LEAST 6 TIMES AND IT ONLY HAS 47,000. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE CONTACT APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO SHAKE AND VIBRATE EXCESSIVELY. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FRONT ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS IN DECEMBER 2009. IN JULY 2010, THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED VIBRATION AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE FRONT ROTORS. IN APRIL 2011, THE FRONT BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS WERE REPLACED. IN MAY 2011, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD SQUEAKING NOISE AND TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALE HOWEVER, THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT WITH THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING DIAGNOSIS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THE BRAKES BEGAN GRINDING PREMATURELY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS PREMATURE AT 12,800 MILES. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH AN AUTHORIZED SERVICE TECHNICIAN WHO ADVISED THE CERAMIC BRAKE PADS ON THE VEHICLE WERE DEFECTIVE AND WERE CUTTING INTO THE ROTORS. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE DEALER STATED THEY WOULD REPLACE THE FRONT BRAKE PADS AND SHAVE THE ROTORS AT THEIR EXPENSE BUT NOT FOR THE REAR BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS. THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT WITH THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING REPAIRS. THE VIN WAS NOT ACCEPTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,800 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 19,800.

HAD TO GET BRAKES/ROTORS REPLACED AT 15,000 MILES IN 12/09, AT 49,000 IN 12/11, AND AT 74,000 IN 3/13. *TR
ON MY 5TH SET OF BRAKES & ROTORS ON MY 2009 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CAR ONLY HAS 53000 MILES ON IT. CHRYSLER REFUSES TO ADMIT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM ON THE CAR. I AM NOW AVERAGING REPLACING ROTORS EVERY 10,000 MILES. VERY EXPENSIVE AND MOST IMPORTANTLY NOT SAFE. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS PROBLEM AS CHRYSLER EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE BRAKES WHEN WE RECEIVED A LETTER IN JULY OF 2011 TO 36,000 MILES. THEY KNOW THE BRAKE SYSTEM IS TOO SMALL FOR THE CAR. THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AS WELL. I FEEL THIS CAR IS A LEMON. THANK YOU! *TR
