END OF VALVE STEM SHOT OUT OF STEM WHILE TRYING TO AIR UP TIRE, END CORRODED AND BROKE, REPLACED STEM AND SENSOR UNIT. SEEMS THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THE METAL TYPES THAT ARE PUT ON AND INSTALLED AT THE FACTORY ON THESE MODELS CARS. EVEN SERVICE STATION (FIRESTONE) SAID THEY HAVE COLLECTION OF BAD STEMS ON THESE VEHICLES. I GOT LUCKY THAT I NOTICED AIR PRESSURE INDICATOR LIGHT WAS ON AN TOOK IT TO STATION TO AIR UP TIRE WHEN I TRIED TO PUT AIR IN TIRE AND END SHOT OUT LIKE A ROCKET AND THEN I LOST ALL THE AIR IN MY TIRE. WHAT HAS TO BE DONE TO HAVE THIS ISSUE TAKEN CARE OF BY THE MANUFACTURER WHEN THESE ARE OBVIOUSLY DEFECTIVE. DOES SOME ONE HAVE TO BE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD GET IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE THE STEM BLOWS OUT AND THEY GET A FLAT OR BLOW A TIRE. MY CAR WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIRE PUMP AT THE TIME THIS HAPPENED, I CALLED ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE TO REMOVE MY TIRE BUT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO OTHERWISE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT SOMEONE WOULD CALL. THE CONTACT HAD NOT BEEN CALLED BACK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. HAVE A RECALL LETTER SENT TO FIX MY DODGE WIN....CALLED FOUR DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS...CLOSEST ONES TO ME 78247 TWO DIDN'T HAVE OPENINGS TILL END OF MARCH...ONE WASN'T TAKING ANYMORE APPOINTMENTS..AND THE LAST ONE WAS FIRST COME FIRST SERVE MEANING I WOULD HAVE TO LEAVE MY CAR THERE FIVE DAYS FOR AN HOUR LONG FIX AND THEY WOULD GET TO IT WHEN THEY WOULD GET TO IT....OBVIOUSLY I DO NOT NORMALLY GO TO DEALERSHIPS FOR REPAIRS BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF DEVICE..CASE IN POINT AND THE OVERCHARGES FOR SIMPLE REPAIRS. AT THIS POINT IT LOOKS AS THOUGH NO DEALERSHIP IS WILLING TO TAKE TIME FOR A RECALL FIX ON THEIR OWN PRODUCT. THE FAILURE THAT OCCURRED ON FEB 12,2016. PUT THE LIFE OF MY CHILD AND MYSELF IN EMINENT DANGER. WHILE TRAVELING 70 MPH IN THE HIGH SPEED LANE, WITH MODERATE TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR SUDDEN SHUT OFF. THE DASHBOARD WENT BLACK, THE ENGINE STALLED AND THE CAR BECAME ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE. NOT ONE INDICATOR LIGHT ON THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE WORKED, I REACHED FOR HAZARD LIGHTS THAT DID NOT RESPOND, THE GAS PEDAL WAS UNRESPONSIVE. THE STEERING WAS SLOW AND HARD TO USE- POWER STEERING WAS NOT AVAILABLE. BRAKES SEEMED SLOW TO RESPOND. I KNOW FOR CERTAIN HAD I COLLIDED WITH ANY ITEM THE AIRBAGS WOULD ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT A DOUBT NOT DEPLOYED. THE CAR HAD SIMPLY DECIDED TO "SHUT OFF", I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL HOPING TO CONTINUE ROLLING FORWARD DOWN THE HIGHWAY WITH TRAFFIC. I WAS ABLE TO MUSCLE THE CAR TO SAFETY ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I PLACED THE CAR IN PARK , AND TURNED THE IGNITION TO THE OFF POSITION. AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES OF CALMING MYSELF AND MY DAUGHTER DOWN I RESTARTED THE CAR. IT STARTED, HOWEVER NOW EVERY LIGHT THAT CAN ILLUMINATE ON THE DASH, THE WIPERS, DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHTS, RADIO, AND DOOR CHIMES IN A 30-40 SECOND REPEATING PATTERN. THE DASHBOARD INDICATES THAT THE CAR IS IN PARK, REVERSE, NEUTRAL, AND ALL FORMS OF DRIVE AT THE SAME TIME. THE SPEEDOMETER, RPM GAUGE, GAS GAUGE , OIL PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE GAUGE BOUNCE FROM THE MINIMUM TO THE MAXIMUM DURING THE CYCLE. THE CAR HAS CLEARLY HAD A EXTENSIVE ELECTRICAL FAILURE- THE "MAIN COMPUTER" - AS I DONT KNOW THE EXACT COMPONENT THAT HAS FAILED IS NO LONGER ABLE TO DETERMINE WHATS GOING ON. HAVING THIS TERRIFYING FAILURE WITH MY DAUGHTER IN THE CAR CAUSED ME TO GOOGLE THE PROBLEM, IM NOT THE ONLY OWNER THIS IS A REOCCURRING SITUATION FOR MANY OWNERS. IM JUST SO THANKFUL TO HAVE WALKED AWAY UNHARMED
TAKATA AIR BAG RECALL, BEEN WAITING FOR OVER 7 MONTH TO GET THIS RECALL FIX AS THE AIR BAG LIGHT ON ON, BUT THEY STATE THEY WON'T HAVE PART TIL THE 2ND QUARTER OF 2017 REALLY. CAR WAS REJECTED FOR INSPECTION DUE TO THE AIR BAG RECALL AND THEY WON'T OFFER LOANER/ RENTAL CAR. WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO DO FOR 7-8 MONTH WITHOUT AN CAR? DON'T WANT TO RISK GETTING AN TICKET FOR DRIVING IN REJECTION STICKER. FCA IS HANDLING THIS ISSUE VERY POORLY. I NEED SOME ANSWER AND ADVICE ON WHAT TO DO PLEASE SOMEBODY ADVISE.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ACCORDING TO AN UNKNOWN RECALL, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A FAILURE WITH THE ENGINE AND PCM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 146,557.
WE CALLED OUR LOCAL DODGE DEALER, UNIVERSITY DODGE OF FLORENCE ALABAMA AND WE WERE TOLD THAT THE SAFETY RECALL THAT IS REQUIRED FOR OUR VEHICLE WAS NOT ABLE TO BE ORDERED AT THIS TIME, AND MIGHT TAKE UPWARDS OF 2 YEARS TO RECIEVE THE PART TO FIX THE RECALL. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE TO ME AND ENDANGERS OUR SAFETY AND OUR FAMILIES SAFETY.

WE BOUGHT THE CAR NEW IN APRIL OF 2009. IN AUGUST OF 2012 BRAKES STARTED ACTING 'STICKY AND JERKY'. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP JUST BECAUSE OF THE BRAKES (HAD EXTENDED WARRANTY). WE HAD A STRONG FEELING IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE ESP BAS SYSTEM. THEY DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT IT BEFORE SAYING 'NO' IT WASN'T THE ESP BAS SYSTEM. THROUGH MULTIPLE DEALERSHIP SERVICE VISITS, OIL CHANGES AND SUCH; BRAKES STAYED CONSTANTLY JERKY. 2+ YEARS AGO I WENT INTO DEALERSHIP FOR TIRE ROTATION AND OIL CHANGE AND THEY TOLD ME I'D HAVE TO REPLACE MY BRAKES SOON. UNHAPPY WITH THE LONG WAIT AND COST OF SERVICE AT THE DEALERSHIP I'VE BEEN TAKING THE JOURNEY INTO ANOTHER SHOP WHERE I ASKED THEM TO CHECK MY BRAKES AND THEY SAID THEY WERE FINE. YESTERDAY WHILE DRIVING APPROX. 35MPH THE ESP BAS LIGHTS CAME ON AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE BRAKES WEREN'T STICKY OR JERKY. THEY WORKED LIKE THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO IN THE FIRST PLACE. THE ESP BAS (YELLOW) LIGHTS WILL NOT TURN OFF. I KNOW SOONER OR LATER I'LL HAVE TO REPLACE THE BRAKES BECAUSE THEY PUT SUCH SHODDY ONES ON AT THE FACTORY, BUT THE PROBLEM WITH THE ESP BAS IS A COMPUTER PROBLEM THAT EFFECTED THE BRAKE SYSTEM AND IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED BY THE DEALERSHIP. BETWEEN THE POOR DISMISSIVE WAY THE DEALERSHIP HANDLED THIS ESP BAS PROBLEM (DIDN'T EVEN TEST DRIVE) AND THE CHEAP BRAKES DODGE INSTALLED. I WILL NEVER BUY A VEHICLE FROM EITHER OF THEM AGAIN.

AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE FISHTAILED AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. 12/7/15 TOOK 2009 JOURNEY WITH 58575 MILES TO DODGE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE COMING ON BY THEMSELVES. DEALERSHIP REPLACED 2 WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCHES COSTING $552.44. DROVE VEHICLE OUT OF SHOP 12/8/15 GOT 1/4 MILE AWAY AND WIPERS TURNED ON BY THEMSELVES IN ADDITION THE LEFT SIGNAL TURNED ON. DROVE BACK TO DODGE PICKED UP LATER AND WAS ADVISED THEY UPDATED TIPM SOFTWARE - NO CHARGE BECAUSE I CALLED DODGE COMPLAINTS. 2/26/16 PROBLEMS STATED AGAIN CURRENTLY HAVE APPOINTMENT TO BRING BACK TO DODGE DEALERSHIP 3/7/16 WILL UPDATE

FOR SEVERAL YEARS, THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN STALLING INTERMITTENTLY; AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS, WHEN SLOWING TO USE AN EXIT RAMP, WHEN TRYING TO PULL OVER FOR AN AMBULANCE, ETC... . ALSO IT INTERMITTENTLY INCREASES TO A HIGH RPM FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS OR SO, THEN RETURNS TO NORMAL. THIS CAN OCCUR AT A CONSTANT SPEED ON A LEVEL ROAD. DEALER CAN NOT FIND THE ISSUE SINCE NO 'TROUBLE' LIGHT IS ON. I SEE WHAT SEEMS TO BE A SIMILAR ISSUE ON AN INTERNET SEARCH, BUT HAVE NOT FOUND ANY CAUSE. AFTER SEVERAL TRIPS AND SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS PAID TO CHRYSLER DEALERS, NOTHING HAS BEEN FOUND AND NOTHING HAS BEEN SUGGESTED. THE STALLING IN TRAFFIC IS VERY TROUBLESOME AS IT MAY CAUSE INJURY TO MY FAMILY. FOR THIS REASON, THE RECOMMENDATION TO DRIVE IT TILL SOMETHING BREAKS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AS IT MAY BE THE OCCUPANTS THAT 'BREAK'! THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED FOR ME (BOTH THE STALLING AND THE REVVING) IS REPORTED BELOW.
