TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO CRANK. THE DRIVER HAD TO SHIFT THE GEAR INTO NEUTRAL TO START THE VEHICLE, WHICH DID NOT ALWAYS WORK. MITCHELL AUTOMOTIVE (1522 US-45 ALT, WEST POINT, MS 39773, (662) 494-4344) WAS NOTIFIED AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH/NEUTRAL RANGE SENSOR FAILED TO FUNCTION. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WAS CONTACTED FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V139000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

I AM REFERENCING RECALL # 14V-373 FOR REPLACEMENT OF WIRELESS IGNITION NODE MODULE. I HAVE HAD THIS PART ON ORDER BY LOCAL DEALER FOR OVER 5 MONTHS NOW AND AM STILL WAITING FOR DEALER TO RECEIVE THE PART SO IT CAN BE CHANGED OUT. I TALKED TO DEALER PARTS PERSON AND REPRESENTATIVE AT FCA GROUP RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER TO FIND OUT WHY IT HAS TAKEN SO LONG. NO ONE KNOWS WHY IT HAS TAKEN SO LONG . . . I FEEL WAITING OVER 5 MONTHS TO EFFECT REPAIR IS RIDICULOUS AND NEGLIGENT!

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS REMAINED ON CONTINUOUSLY AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER RESET THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE, HOWEVER THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE HORN SOUNDING OFF ON ITS OWN. WINDSHIELD WIPERS RUNNING BY THEM SELVES. HEADLIGHTS FLASHING AND PROBLEMS WITH PICKING UP SPEED. I HAVE CHECKED ALL GROUND WIRES AND FUSES AND EVERYTHING IS IN TACK
RECALL R03 / NHTSA 14V-373 I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 50MPH AND HIT A BUMP, THE RADIO WENT OFF FOR 15 SECONDS. ONE MILE LATER I HAD A COMPLETE ELECTRICAL FAILURE, FOR A PERIOD OF FOUR MILES THE VEHICLE HAD NO TURN SIGNALS, WINDSHIELD WIPERS, FAN BLOWER, OR RADIO. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THREE MONTHS FOR PARTS TO FIX MY VEHICLE. ONCE UPON A TIME I CALLED THEM, PARTS WERE IN, I MADE AN APPOINTMENT. WHEN I GOT THERE SERVICE MANAGER FOR BOB AND CHUCK EDDY, AUSTINTOWN, TOLD ME THEY HAD BEEN INSTALLED IN ANOTHER CUSTOMER'S CAR. THEN HE ASKED ME WHAT YEAR I HAD BOUGHT MY JOURNEY FROM THEIR DEALERSHIP. APPARENTLY YOU HAVE TO BUY FROM THEM TO GET A RECALL DONE. I FEEL THESE UNREPAIRED VEHICLES ARE A DANGER TO THEIR OWNERS, PASSENGERS, AND EVERYONE ELSE ON THE ROAD AND SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM SERVICE IMMEDIATELY.

HORN BLOWS ON ITS OWN, BATTERY GOES DEAD, CAR DOORS WON'T UNLOCK. PARKED AND IN MOTION.
AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET THE SAFETY RECALL ON THE IGNITION SWITCH FIXED, I AM ALWAYS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. YET I STILL GET RECALL NOTICES FROM FCA..
THE KEY FOB WAS THE FIRST THING I NOTICED,IT WOULDN'T LOCK/UNLOCK THE CAR, HANGED THE BATTERY,NOTHING CHANGED. MONTHS LATER I CANNOT LOCK/UNLOCK WITH THE KEY FOB OR ON THE DOOR PANEL.THE CAR STAYS UNLOCKED ALL THE TIME (NOT GOOD) ALSO THE BACK WIPER NO LONGER WORKS..NOW, THE HORN...THE HORN DOES NOT STOP HONKING!!! DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU'RE DRIVING OR THE CAR IS OFF AN PARKED..... ALSO UNSAFE. I HAD TO DISCONNECT IT AND BEEN WITHOUT FOR OVER A YR. I'VE CONTACTED DODGE..SEEMS TO BE THE SAME STORY I SEE ONLINE,THEY ARE SURPRISED AND NEVER HEARD OF ANYONE HAVING AN ISSUE🤔🤔 SEEMS FISHY. THE HEAT DOES NOT GET HOT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WHEN DRIVING ANYWHERE OR WHEN PARKED. THE HORN RANDOMLY GOES OFF WHEN I'M DRIVING ON THE STREET EXPRESSWAY AND ALSO WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED AND SHUTOFF. THE AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED OR WHILE DRIVING ON ALL ROADS. THE AIRBAG INDICATOR SOUND CHIMES CONTINUOUSLY WHILE I'M DRIVING ON ANY ROAD. I WENT TO DRIVE MY CAR LAST WEEK IN THE EXTREMELY COLD TEMPERATURE AND DISCOVERED I HAD NO POWER STEERING. I GOT OUT THE CAR AND ALSO DISCOVERED HUGE AMOUNTS OF POWER STEERING FLUID IN THE SNOW WHERE I WAS PARKED. IT WAS EVIDENT SOMETHING RUPTURED CAUSING THE MY VEHICLE TO LOSE ALL OF IT'S POWER STEERING FLUID. I'VE BEEN TOLD BY CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE THAT THESE RECALLS DO NOT EXIST FOR MY VEHICLE. I WANT SOMETHING TO BE DONE ABOUT THESE ISSUES ON MY VEHICLE. IT'S CLEAR THAT THE DODGE JOURNEY HAS DEFAULTS. THE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE ISSUES. WHILE SITTING IN THE YARD, LOCKED ....MY 2010 DODGE JOURNEY JUST RANDOMLY STARTS BLOWING THE HORN. THIS IS HAPPENING ON A DAILY BASIS FOR THE LAST FEW DAYS AND EVEN DURING THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THERE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM BECAUSE SOMETIMES THE RADIO WILL GO ON AND OFF ALSO. PLEASE TELL ME THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS. HORN RANDOMLY GOES OFF. PUT CAR IN PARK, TAKE OUT FOB, DOOR AUTOMATICALLY LOCK AND ALARM IS SET, NOT CANNOT UNLOCK WITH FOB, HAVE TO USE KEY. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR SEVERAL DAYS. PICKED UP FOB, DIDN'T TOUCH ANY BUTTONS, ALARM GOES OFF. TURN CAR OFF, ALARM GOES OFF. HAD TO PULL THE FUSE FOR HORN, NOW I HAVE NO HORN AND THE CAR WON'T UNLOCK USING THE FOB. THIS SHOULD DEFINITELY BE A RECALL AS I'VE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ON OTHER WEBSITES ABOUT THIS ISSUE. ALSO, SIDE NOTE, WHEN IN REVERSE, REAR WINDSHIELD WIPER RUNS, CAN'T TURN IT OFF.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WESTBORN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (23300 MICHIGAN AVE, DEARBORN, MI 48124 (877) 295-7806) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT NO FAILURE CODES WERE FOUND. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED AND GROUND WIRING WAS INSTALLED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE MECHANIC THAT THIS WAS ONGOING ISSUE WITH DODGE JOURNEYS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
3 DAYS AGO WITH THE CAR ALARM SOUNDING IN EARLY MORNING. I WENT OUTSIDE TO SEE WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND THERE WAS NOTHING THERE TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT. THEN A FEW MINUTES LATER THE CAR JUST STATED RANDOMLY HONKING IT HORN ON ITS OWN! NOW THIS IS ALL HAPPENING WHILE CAR WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY. I THOUGHT THAT MAYBE MAYBE IT WAS PART OF THE SECURITY ON THE CAR AND THEN IT STOPPED ABOUT 5 MINS LATER. WHILE STILL PARKED. LATER ON IN THE DAY I TOOK THE CAR OUT TO DO SOME THINGS WHEN IT STARTED RANDOMLY HONKING IT OWN HORN. THIS WAS ALL HAPPENING WHILE I WAS ON A MAJOR ROAD. THIS THEN CREATED A VERY DANGEROUS MOMENT BECAUSE I GOT DISTRACTED BECAUSE I COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHY THE HELL MY CAR JUST STARTED RANDOMLY HONKING IT HORN AND IT WOULDN'T STOP FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES. MULTIPLE PEOPLE STOPPED BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT I WAS HONKING AT THEM WHICH CAUSED THINGS TO GET VERY CRAZY. SO NOW I KNOW SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT, SO I DECIDED TO TAKE THE CAR BACK HOME FOR EVERYONE'S SAFETY AND WELL BEING.SO NOW THE CAR IS BACK HOME AND THE RANDOM HONKING HAS STOPPED. WE ALL WENT TO BED, AND AT 12:00 PM THURSDAY NIGHT. IT HAPPENED AGAIN WHILE PARKED IN DRIVEWAY,IT WOULD BEEP AND BEEP AND THEN STOP AND BEEP AGAIN AND THEN IT WOULDN'T STOP BEEPING AND THEN IT WOULDN'T STOP. NOW I THEN GOT REALLY NERVOUS BECAUSE THIS JUST ISN'T SAFE AND IS ANNOYING FOR THE POOR NEIGHBORS TRYING TO SLEEP. SO LUCKILY ABOUT 10 MINS LATER THE HONKING HAD STOPPED. I WENT BACK TO SLEEP HOPING IT WOULDN'T CONTINUE TO HAPPEN. NOW ITS FRIDAY THERE HASN'T BEEN ANY HONKING FOR THE LAST FEW HOURS WHILE ITS BEEN PARKED IN DRIVEWAY ALL NIGHT. NOW THROUGH THE WHOLE FRIDAY NOTHING SEEMED TO HAPPEN UNTIL ABOUT 7:00 PM, IT HAPPENED AGAIN THE CAR STARTED BEEPING ITS HORN AND THIS TIME FOR ABOUT 10 MINS RANDOMLY DURING THAT TIME WHILE IT WAS PARKED. KNOWING THAT THIS WASN'T GOING TO STOP I TOOK OUT HORN FUSES FOR NOW,BUT NOW I HAVE NO HORN!

I HAVE NOT KEPT TRACK OF SPECIFIC DATES, HOWEVER I NOW PLAN ON DOING SO. SINCE I'VE PURCHASED THIS CAR I'VE HAD ISSUES WITH IT STARTING. OF COURSE I TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE I'M TOLD THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHIGNG WRONG WITH IT, THE SECOND TIME I'M TOLD IT JUST NEEDED A SOFTWARE UPDATE, AND THE THIRD I DECIDED TO TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE. I KNOW IT'S NOT THE STARTED, BATTERY, ALTERNATOR, OR FUEL PUMP. I'VE BEEN TOLD IT HAS TO BE ELECTRICAL OR A SOFTWARE ISSUES. BASICALLY EITHER DODGE KNOWS WHAT THE ISSUE IS AND IS LYING OR THEY REALLY HAVE NO IDEA. EITHER WAY I PAY A LOT TO HAVE A REALIABLE CAR AND IT'S REALLY FRUSTRATING TO GO INTO THE GROCERY STORE COME OUT AND MY CAR DOESN'T WANT TO START, OR HAVE TO LEAVE FOR WORK AND END UP BEING LATE BECAUSE AGAIN MY CAR DECIDES IT DOESN'T WANT TO START. EACH TIME THE DEALERSHIP HASN'T CHARGED ME ANYTHING. I'VE BEEN DRIVING MY CAR AND THE ENGINE HAS JUST CUT OFF. I'VE HAD MY WINDOWS ROLL DOWN ON THERE OWN. AT 52K MILES MY DODGE JOURNEY HAD TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT. IT ALWAYS SEEMED TO SLIP, BUT ONCE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND BIGGER PROBLEMS BECAME APPARENT THE ONLY OPTION WAS TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT.
I PARKED MY 2010 DODGE JOURNEY IN THE PARKING LOT AT WORK AND BEFORE I TURNED IT OFF, SMOKE STARTED COMING OUT FROM BEHIND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, SPECIFICALLY BEHIND THE SPEEDOMETER. I SHUT OFF MY JOURNEY, GRABBED MY BAG AND CALLED 911. WHILE I WAS GIVING MY ADDRESS, FLAMES BURST THROUGH THE DASH. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED WITHIN MINUTES BUT THE VEHICLE'S FRONT WAS ENGULFED AT THAT TIME. THEY PUT THE FIRE OUT. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY SENT AN INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION TEAM TO INSPECT IT. THE ELECTRICAL CLUSTER BEHIND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS DETERMINED TO BE THE CAUSE. THE WIRE CLUSTER HAD CAUSED ELECTRICAL SHORTS WHEN I FIRST RECEIVED THE JOURNEY, WHICH A DEALERSHIP REPAIRED NEARLY SIX YEARS AGO THEIR STATED CAUSE: "WIRES CUT BY SHARP EDGE." THEY INSULATED THE WIRE, RELOCATED, AND SECURED IT AT THE TIME. CHRYSLER HAS CLAIMED IT WAS NOT A MANUFACTURING ISSUE.
MY 2010 DODGE JOURNEY'S ENGINE STALLS AND I HAVE NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES WHILE I AM DRIVING. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENED FIRST IN NOV. 2015 WITH AROUND 68000 MILES ON VEHICLE AND THOUGHT IT WAS A FLUKE OR CAUSED BY BAD WEATHER. IT STARTED TO HAPPEN SEVERAL TIMES AGAIN MARCH/APRIL 2016. DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. TOOK IT BACK IN TO DEALERSHIP IN JUNE 2016, STILL COULD NOT FIND ISSUE. CONTINUED TO HAPPEN AND TOOK IT IN SEPTEMBER FOR THAT AND OTHER ISSUES (HORN GOING OFF RANDOMLY AND BATTERY DRAINING OVERNIGHT). NOW DEC 2016 AND THE CAR STALLED WHILE DRIVING 3 TIMES THIS WEEK AND THE LAST TIME SOMEONE ALMOST REAR ENDED ME BECAUSE OF IT. MY LIFE AND MY CHILDREN'S LIFE ARE AT STAKE. IT HAS ONLY HAPPENED WHEN I AM GOING UNDER 45MPH AT THIS POINT AND ON SOME OCCASIONS IT IS WHILE I AM SLOWING DOWN TO TURN IN A PARKING SPACE BUT SOMETIMES IT IS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD DRIVING. IT HAS HAPPENED IN THE MORNING/AFTERNOON/EVENING, RAIN, SNOW AND SUNSHINE, HOT AND COLD DAYS. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERYDAY WHICH MAKES THIS ISSUE EVEN WORSE I NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL OCCUR. THE ONLY ISSUE THAT REMAINS THE SAME IS THAT MY TRACTION SYSTEM LIGHT COMES ON 90% OF THE TIME THIS OCCURS. I HAVE TOLD THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP EVERY TIME AND THEY STILL CANNOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THE FAILURES OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURES COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 102,000.
BRAKES WILL NOT HOLD CAR ON A DOWNHILL STEEP GRADE. WHILE ON A CITY STREET GOING DOWN HILL A RED LIGHT AHEAD. I APPLIED BRAKES CAR COULD NOT STOP WITH PLENTY OF TIME TO STOP I HAD TO ROLL THROUGH THE RED LIGHT.

I HAVE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY BRAKES WHICH HAS BEEN REPLACED BUT STILL GRINDING NOISE AND SQUEAKY AND ROTORS HAS BEEN TURNED. I HAVE SPENT SO MUCH MONEY ON THIS CAR FOR REPAIRS, HAVE HAD 2 RECALL ISSUES (ONE OF WHICH LEFT ME AND ONE OF MY DAUGHTERS STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AT NIGHT), AND HAVE ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE BRAKES, ROTOR, CALIPER, MORE TIMES THAN I CAN REMEMBER. THE LAST TIME WAS IN FEB. AND NOW MY CAR HAS ALREADY RECENTLY STARTED SHAKING AGAIN WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKES. I HAVE ONLY DRIVEN ABOUT 9,000 MILES SINCE REPLACED LAST. THE FOBIK HAS BEEN REPLACED AS PART OF THE RECALL AND THIS ISSUE DID NOT START UNTIL AFTER THE RECALL WAS COMPLETED. THE DEALER CAN STILL NOT FIND ANY FAULTS IN THE COMPUTER AFTER TWO TRIPS IN FOR DIAGNOSIS. THIS IS BECOMING NOT ONLY A SAFETY PROBLEM BUT ALSO A CIVIL OFFENSE SINCE THE HORN BLOWS AT ALL HOURS OF THE DAY AND NIGHT.

I WENT TO CHECK THE AIR PRESSURE ON THE TIRES BECAUSE THE LOW PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH. THE TIRE DID NOT APPEAR TO BE LOW. I TOOK THE CAP OFF THE TIRE TO CHECK IT AND THE SENSOR STEM CAME OFF IN MY HAND AND AS A RESULT THE AIR ESCAPE FROM THE TIRE. I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED AND REPAIRED. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MOVING CAUSING A CRASH. THE CAPS ARE PLASTIC AND NOT METAL. I HAVE SEEN FROM THE INTERNET AND HEARD FROM DEALERS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND HAS TO DO WITH CORROSION.
