INTERMITTENT STARTING PROBLEMS, NOTHING WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY; BATTERY AND STARTER GOOD. IF YOU LEAVE KEY IN THE START POSITION AND WALK AWAY CAR WILL END UP STARTING ON ITS OWN. HAVE GOTTEN STUCK 3 TIMES WITH THE CAR, DO NOT TURN IT OFF WHEN I GO TO THE STORE. AT FIRST IT HAPPENED ONCE AFTER OWNING IT FOR A YEAR, THEN 2 MONTHS LATER NOW ALMOST 3 TIMES A WEEK. DODGE HAS NO ANSWERS WHY SHOULD I PAY TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT WHEN THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE WEB ABOUT THIS EXACT ISSUE. WHAT IS BEING DONE? *TR
PURCHASED DODGE JOURNEY IN DECEMBER OF 2011. HAVE ONLY DRIVEN 11,300 MILES. BOUGHT 4 NEW TIRES TWO MONTHS AGO. HAVE BEEN KEEPING UP WITH ALL REGULAR MAINTENANCE TO THE VEHICLE. WHEEL SHAKES TREMENDOUSLY WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES. ALSO, CAR DRAGS WHEN RELEASING THE THROTTLE. A CAR CUT ME OFF AND I HAD TO BRAKE FAST. BRAKES DIDN'T FEEL LIKE THEY WERE WORKING PROPERLY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 56,000.
WHILE DRIVING I RANDOMLY LOSE ALL INTERIOR POWER - WINDOWS, WIPERS, RADIO, AC, SIGNALS. ENGINE CONTINUES TO RUN AND STEER FINE. SHUTTING OFF IGNITION AND RESTARTING CORRECTS PROBLEM. IT HAPPENS WITH NO WARNING AND NO APPARENT CAUSE. AC BLOWER BURNED OUT ABOUT A YEAR AGO; DEALER SAID IT WAS DUE TO A SHORT AND THEY FIXED THE SHORT FOR FREE, BUT THAT DIDN'T SOLVE THE POWER LOSS PROBLEM. I'VE FOUND THAT PUSHING THE IGNITION FOB SLIGHTLY IN - OR PULLING SLIGHTLY OUT - WHEN IT HAPPENS CAN RESOLVE THE PROBLEM WITHOUT HAVING TO RESTART THE VEHICLE BUT I WORRY THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL BURN OUT THE AC BLOWER AGAIN. THIS LOSS OF INTERIOR POWER HAPPENS ON AVERAGE ONCE EVERY 4 TO 6 WEEKS; IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE I THE WIPERS OR DEFOG MAY STOP WORKING WHEN IT'S RAINING. I DON'T KNOW IF IT AFFECTS AIRBAG PERFORMANCE AND I'D RATHER NOT FIND OUT THAT HARD WAY. *TR
I WAS DRIVING AND MY TIRE BLEW OUT, I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS BECAUSE THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM WAS CORRODED, CRACKED AND SPLIT IN HALF. UPON CHECKING OF ALL MY TIRES, ALL OF THEM ARE CRACKED AND CORRODED. ON THE TIRE THAT BLEW THE STEM WAS TOTALLY SPLIT IN HALF. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE, THEY CHANGED TO PLASTIC IN THE 2011 JOURNEY'S. WE BOUGHT THE CAR 1 1/2 MONTHS AGO AS A CERTIFIED USED CAR. *TR
THE CHECK ENGINE KEEPS ON COMING ON AND STAYING ON. I HAVE NOTICED PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR LOSING POWER WHILE I AM DRIVING OR ACCELERATING; THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIME. I RECENTLY HAD TO REPLACE THE BRAKES AND ROTORS; IT DRIVES HORRIBLY EVERY TIME I TRIED TO STOP THE CAR WOULD TREMBLE. I EXPECTED THE CAR TO NOT HAVE THESE PROBLEMS AS IT IS FAIRLY NEW AND I DO NOT CONSIDER IT TO HAVE ALOT OF MILEAGE. I AM REALLY CONCERNED ABOUT THESE PROBLEMS AS I DRIVE MY CAR WITH THREE SMALL CHILDREN. I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO KEEP TAKING IT FOR A DIAGNOSTIC EACH TIME THE LIGHT COMES ON; IF THE COMPANY IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM; THEY SHOULDN'T CHARGE PEOPLE SO MUCH TO CHECK THE CODES OR THEY SHOULD HAVE A RECALL TO FIX THE ONGOING PROBLEMS. *TR
CAR WOULD NOT START. EVERYTHING WORKED (RADIO, WINDOWS ETC) DID NOT EVEN MAKE A SOUND LIKE IT WANTED TO START. I CALLED PERFORMANCE DODGE WHERE PURCHASED, THEY TOLD ME TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THEM. I TRIED FOR OVER ONE HOUR TO START CAR. IT FINALLY STARTED. TOOK IT TO NEAREST REPAIR SHOP, TESTED AND FOUND NO CODES. TOOK IT TO PERFORMANCE DODGE, FOUND NO CODES.
ESP BAS ENGINE LIGHTS CAME ON WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. STOPPED, TURNED CAR OFF AND WAITED 5 MINUTES. NO LIGHTS CAME BACK ON, CAR RAN FINE.
THIS 2010 DODGE JOURNEY SXT WHICH WAS DELIVERED TO ME ON 18 MARCH 2010. ON 19 JULY 2010 I HAD TO TAKE THIS VEHICLE TO TUCSON DODGE WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE COMMENCED TO SHUDDER. EXAMINATION BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOUND THAT THE # 1 CYLINDER WAS MISFIRING AND THE INTAKE AND EXHAUST VALVES WERE NOT SEALING PROPERLY.ALSO, THE LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD PLUG WAS SEEPING COOLANT. THE EXPANSION COOLANT TANK WAS LEAKING AT THE SEAM. THESE PROBLEMS NECESSITATED THE REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE RIGHT CYLINDER HEAD ASSEMBLY AND LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD,AND EXPANSION COOLANT TANK. AFTER REPAIR AND RETURN OF THE VEHICLE TO ME, 26 JULY 2012 , UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE A DISTINCT CLICKING NOISE WAS HEARD . WHICH I REPORTED TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHO WERE QUITE DISMISSIVE ABOUT IT . ON OR ABOUT 27 AUGUST I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP THE CLICKING WAS GETTING LOUDER AND THE VEHICLE WAS SHUDDERING AGAIN. THIS NECESSITATED A SECOND ENGINE REPAIR. "THE ROCKER ARMS ARE WALKING DUE TO WORN BLOCKS AND ROCKERS". ERGO THE LEFT AND RIGHT BANK ROCKER ARMS/SHAFTS/TAPPETS HAD TO BE REPLACED. CHRYSLER HAS FAILED.NEGLECTED AND REFUSED TO REPLACE THE ENGINE IN ITS ENTIRETY DESPITE MY DEMAND THAT THEY DO BECAUSE OF REPEATED DOCUMENTED DEFECTS THEREWITH. THIS ENGINE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN BROKEN DOWN AND REPAIRED. EVIDENCE THE SECOND ENGINE PARTS FAILURE. ALSO, WHY SHOULD THE BLOCKS BE WORN AT 32K MILES? I AM THINKING THAT THEY WERE WORN WHEN THEY WERE PUT IN AT THE FACTORY AND AN INSPECTOR MISSED THIS IF IN FACT THEY WERE EVEN INSPECTED AT ASSEMBLY.I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO CONFIDENCE IN THE ROADWORTHINESS OF THIS VEHICLE. THIS ENGINE PRESENTS A SERIOUS THREAT TO THE SAFETY AND WELLBEING OF ME AND/OR MY WIFE AND GRANDCHILDREN WHILE WE ARE OUT IN THE VEHICLE. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE ENGINE NEXT WILL SEIZE OR SHUT DOWN PUTTING ME OR THEM IN HARMS WAY WITHOUT WARNING. *TR *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE BEGAN TO LOSE AIR RAPIDLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTICS. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR VALVE WAS FRACTURED. THE MECHANIC PLACED A TEMPORARY RUBBER VALVE STEM TO THE TIRE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THEY WOULD NOT ASSIST WITH THE REPLACEMENT OF THE VALVE STEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY AWD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN EXCESSIVE VIBRATION IN THE VEHICLE WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY INFORMED HIM THAT THE ROTORS WERE FAILING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000. UPDATED 08-09-12 *BF THE STATED THE BRAKE PADS WERE NOT WORN NOR WAS IT NECESSARY TO REPLACE THEM. THE VEHICLE HAS POOR FUEL MILEAGE AND LOSS OF POWER. THE VEHICLE DRAGGED INSTEAD OF COASTING WHEN RELEASING THE THROTTLE. THE VEHICLE OPERATES CORRECTLY IN NEUTRAL AND WITHOUT USING ALL WHEEL DRIVE. FUEL MILEAGE ALSO INCREASED. UPDATED 08/13/2012 *JS *TR
VEHICLE AFTER OWNING FOR LESS THAN A YEAR WOULD NOT START WHEN TURN KEY. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE PROBLEM BUT FOUND FLASHES IN COMPUTER AND FLASHED PCM. 18 DAYS LATER SAME PROBLEM STILL GOING ON TOOK BACK TO DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS A BAD CELL IN BATTERY SO THEY REPLACED. 3 MONTHS LATER SAME ISSUE HAD BEEN STILL GOING ON TOOK BACK STATED THAT RANGE SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. REPLACED STATED NO PROBLEMS AT THIS TIME DEALER STATED IF PROBLEM HAPPENS AGAIN BRING BACK. VEHICLE STILL DOESN'T START HAS BEEN HAPPENING 3-4 TIMES A WEEK SINCE OCT 2012, TAKEN VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER ON 6/22/13 ON TOP OF HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY STATE PROBLEM CANT BE DUPLICATED. HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER AS WELL HAVE INITIATED NUMEROUS CASES WITH THEM. YET STILL NO RECALL AND STATE IT IS A SENSOR AGAIN. THIS IS RIDICULOUS AND CHRYSLER NEEDS TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM. *TR
PURCHASED USED DODGE 2010 JOURNEY FROM DEALERSHIP IN MAY 2012, RETURNED VEHICLE ABOUT 2WEEKS LATER TO HAVE SERVICE DEPARTMENT CHECK FOR TICKING NOISE ON DRIVERS SIDE WHEN DRIVING. SERVICE DEPARTMENT CHECKED VEHICLE AND SAID THEY DIDN'T HEAR ANYTHING AND IT JUST MAY BE WIND NOISE WHEN I DRIVE AT A CERTAIN SPEED. ONE MONTH LATER, I NEEDED BRAKES-FRONT ROTORS THAT WERE BAD. I HAD MY MECHANIC TO REPLACE AND HE DID APOLOGIZE THAT I HAD PURCHASED A LEMON AND HAD TO SPEND OUT MONEY FOR BRAKES ALREADY. NEEDED 2 REAR TIRES BY JULY 2012, THEY HAD NEVER BEEN ROTATED BUT I ACCEPTED FOR NOT DOING ENOUGH HOMEWORK ON PURCHASE. NOW AT 50,000 MILES, CAR JUST CUTS OFF, WONT START UNTIL HOURS LATER, AND DIAGNOSTIC TEST DOES NOT SHOW ANY CODES OR PROBLEMS. *TR
ROTORS ON THESE VEHICLES ARE FAILING, CAUSING STEERING WHEEL TO SHAKE AND VEHICLE TO LEAVE LANE OF TRAVEL. DEALER REPLACED ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS. IN AUGUST 2013 VEHICLE STARTED DOING THE SAME THING. VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT BACK TO DEALER AND ROTORS WERE FAILING AGAIN. THE ROTORS ON THIS VEHICLE ARE DESIGNED TO SMALL FOR THE WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE AND IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY HURT. *TR
I HAVE HAD MY TIRES REPLACE ABOUT EVERY 25,000 MILES THE ARE WEARING REALLY BAD ON THE INSIDE I HAVE HAD ALIGNMENTS DONE AND THERE IS NO ISSUE WITH THE ALIGNMENT I HAVE SPENT OVER $1000 ON TIRES NOT SURE IF IT IS CAUSED BY THE BRAKES AND ROTORS BEING BAD. I'VE HAD THEM REPLACED TWICE ALSO. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIN MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 11V139000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND 14V373000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000.
MY BRAKES STARTED TO GRIND TWO WEEKS AGO. I HAD TO HAVE BOTH THE PADS AND ROTORS REPLACED. DODGE IN MEDINA, OHIO STATED THAT THEY ARE NOT SURE WHY I HAD PREMATURE WEAR AND WOULD NOT COVER THE COST OF REPAIR. I STATED THAT I AM AWARE OF THE PROBLEMS OF THE JOURNEYS BREAKS, HOWEVER IT GOT ME NO WHERE. I HAD TO PAY TO REPLACE THEM TOTALLY OUT OF POCKET COSTING $364.93. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PARKING IN A RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY WHEN HE NOTICED A FIRE HAD ERUPTED FROM UNDER THE HOOD. HE WAS ABLE TO REMOVE THE VEHICLE FROM THE DRIVEWAY AND CONTACTED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE FACILITY AND WAS NOT INSPECTED OR REPAIRED FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE CONTACT'S VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS AND PROVIDED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 15,300. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
BRAKES WOULD SHIMMY, TOOK TO DEALER ON MAY 30, 2012, REPLACED PADS ON FRONT AND RESURFACED ALL FOUR ROTORS, ONLY TO HAVE SAME PROBLEM ON DEC. 11, 2012, BRAKES WOULD SHIMMY. TOOK TO ANOTHER DEALER AND HAD ALL FOUR ROTORS RESURFACED ONCE AGAIN. *TR
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: PURCHASED NEW 2/26/11 - ON 5/25/12 THE VEHICLE HAD 11764 ACTUAL MILES. HEARD SQUEALING NOISE WHEN APPLYING BRAKES - TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND REAR ROTORS WARPED AND REAR PADS NOISY. DEALERSHIP REPLACED REAR ROTORS AND PADS. PICKED UP VEHICLE AFTERNOON OF 5/25/12. DROVE VEHICLE HOME AND HAVE ONLY DRIVEN VEHICLE YESTERDAY 5/29/12 AND TODAY 5/30/12 TO WORK AND, AGAIN, THE SQUEALING HAS OCCURRED ON MY WAY HOME (5/30/12). CALLED THE SERVICE MANAGER IMMEDIATELY AND REPORTED. AM TAKING INTO DEALERSHIP FIRST THING IN MORNING AGAIN (5/31/12). [*ALSO PLEASE NOTE THAT ON 01/13/12 I HAD A FLUID LEAK UNDER LEFT FRONT OF VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THE DEALERSHIP WHERE PURCHASED AND THE DEALERSHIP HAD TO REPLACE A LEFT AXLESHAFT SEAL WHICH THEY STATED WAS A DEFECT.] *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE FRONT AND REAR ROTORS, AND THE BRAKE PADS WERE REPLACED BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WATER WAS LEAKING FROM THE OVERHEAD VENT AND ONTO THE REAR SEATS. THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR ALSO COULD NOT BE LOCKED WITH THE KEY FOB, ONLY MANUALLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NTHSA, GOOD MORNING, I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING CONCERNS REGARDING THE BRAKING SYSTEM ON MY 2010 DODGE JOURNEY. WHEN DRIVING AT SPEEDS OVER 55 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY AND HAVING TO APPLY THE BRAKES THE STEERING WHEEL BEGIN TO SHAKE BACK AND FORTH AND THIS IS SOMEWHAT ALARMING TO BOTH ME AND MY WIFE. I HAVE HAD MANY VEHICLES IN THE PAST AND I HAVE NOT EVER EXPERIENCED THIS BEFORE. IS THERE A RECALL ON THE BRAKING SYSTEM OR SHOULD WE BE ALARMED AND MORE IMPORTANTLY WHAT SHOULD BE DONE? TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY EQUIPPED WITH HANKOOK DYNA PRO TIRES, SIZE 225/70R16. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 70 MPH WHEN THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE BLEW. THE CONTACT MERGED ONTO THE SHOULDERS AND CHANGED THE TIRE. THE WEATHER WAS CLEAR AND THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE OR THE TIRE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS LIKELY CAUSED BY A ROAD HAZARD AND PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,850.
WE HAD TO CHANGE THE BRAKE PADS AND/OR ROTORS THREE TIMES IN 70,000 MILES. THE LAST BRAKE JOB REQUIRED REPLACING THE REAR CALIPER, ALONG WITH THE ROTORS AND PADS - WHICH WAS VERY COSTLY. THE MECHANIC TOLD US THIS WAS FAIRLY COMMON, WITH THIS CAR. MY ONLY COMPLAINT WITH THIS VEHICLE, IS THE BRAKES. THEY ARE SIMPLY TERRIBLE. DODGE REALLY NEEDS TO FIX THIS MISTAKE. *TR

I EXPERIENCED SHAKING/PULSATIONS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN SLOWING DOWN FOR A STOP (THE FASTER I WAS GOING BEFORE DECLINE IN SPEED, THE LARGER THE SHAKING/PULSATION WOULD BE). I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO INFORMED ME THAT THE CALIPERS ON THE FRONT WHEELS WERE STICKING AND THAT THE PISTONS WERE GETTING HOT AND WOULD EVENTUALLY CRACK. HE ALSO INFORMED ME THAT THIS IS NOT NORMAL FOR A VEHICLE THAT IS LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD WITH ONLY 15K MILES ON IT. *TR

IT WAS A SATURDAY MORNING (ABOUT 9AM) AND I AM DRIVING ABOUT 70 MILES TO MY DESTINATION, THE BRAKES FELT LIKE THEY WERE APPLIED FOR ABOUT 1-2 SECONDS THEN RELEASED WITHOUT MY FOOT ANYWHERE NEAR THE BRAKES, THE STEERING WHEEL PULLS ME BUT I AM ABLE TO TAKE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I CONTINUE FOR ABOUT ANOTHER 5 MORE MILES, AND IT HAPPENS AGAIN, THIS TIME MORE VIOLENTLY. I WAS DOING THE SAME SPEED AS BEFORE, ABOUT 70 MPH AND VEHICLE WAS TRAVELLING IN THE SECOND LEFT LANE AND THE LANES WERE VEERING TO THE LEFT. THE BRAKES APPLIED AT A MUCH STRONGER RATE AND AGAIN, I ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, FEELING AS THOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS PULLING ME TO THE LEFT AS IF TO INTEND TO SPIN OUT OF CONTROL. LUCKILY, I WAS ABLE TO RE-GAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHILCE. I CALLED NORMANDIN AGAIN, THEY TOWED MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND AFTER 3 WEEKS OF HAVING IT AND "DRIVING THE VEHICLE HARD", THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THE INCIDENT THAT OCCURED TO ME, THEREFORE, UNABLE TO PINPOINT THE CAUSE. THEY ADVISED ME THAT THE BACK ROTORS NEED TO BE REPLACED AS THEY ARE SHAKING BUT THAT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY ONLY COVERS THE FRONT. WE RECEIVED NOTICE THAT THERE WAS A VOLUNTARY BRAKE RECALL FROM DODGE JAN OR FEB 2012. AT THE TIME MY WIFE WAS EXPERIENCING JERKING AND PULLING TO THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN BRAKING. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WE WERE ADVISED THAT THE FRONT PADS AND ROTORS WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED AND DODGE WOULD COVER THE COST. THIS WAS AROUND FEB/MAR 2012 WITH APPROXIMATELY 17K ON THE VEHICLE. ON 4 AUG WE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO DODGE DUE TO THE SAME BRAKING PROBLEMS AND A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. WE WERE ADVISED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS CAUSED BY A CRACK PISTON HEAD AND DODGE STATED THAT THE PISTON WOULD BE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. HOWEVER, WE WERE THEN ADVISED THAT THE JERKING AND PULLING IN THE STEERING WAS CAUSED BY THE REAR BRAKES AND WE WOULD HAVE TO PAID $534.00 TO HAVE THE REAR ROTORS AND PADS REPLACED. THIS DIDN'T SOUND RIGHT TO ME SO I CHECKED FOR ANY TSB/RECALLS, THE CAS WEBSITE, AND NHTSA WEBSITE I FOUND OUT THAT THE BRAKE PROBLEMS (BOTH FRONT AND REAR) HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH DODGE AND REPAIRS AND COSTS HAVE BEEN ALL OVER THE BOARD WITH DODGE EXCEPTING NO REAL FIX EXCEPT CHARGING CAR OWNERS ON REPEATED REPAIRS THAT ONLY FIX THE PROBLEM FOR 3-9K. IF THIS IS THE CASE NHTSA SHOULD MANDATE DODGE TO PROPERLY FIX THIS PROBLEM WITH CORRECT PARTS OR FULLY RECALL ALL OF THESE VEHICLES. DODGE IS PUTTING MY WIFE AND SON IN DANGER EVERYTIME THEY SET FOOT IN THE VEHICLE, AND THAT IS SOMETHING THE AGENCY FOR HIGHWAY SAFETY SHOULD NOT ALLOW TO CONTINUE. I STOPPED AT MCDONALD'S ON MY WAY TO WORK, CAME OUT OF MCDONALD'S WENT TO START MY CAR, HAD NO POWER AT ALL.
