FRONT AND BACK BRAKES AND ALL ROTORS HAD DEFECT. NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *TR
MY DODGE WAS PURCHASED AND ORIGINALLY HAD A RADIO CONNECTION PROBLEM. WHERE IT PLAYED STATIC WHILE PLAYING A CD AS WELL AS THE SPEAKERS SOUNDED BLOWN OUT. SINCE HE RADIO HAS BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES AND STILL SEEMS TO REMAIN THE SAME. I HAVE HAD THE ALIGNMENT DONE 4 TIMES SINCE MAY 2011 AND THE PROBLEM REMAINS.THE AC HAS A DELAY WHEN TURNED ON. BUT MY BIGGER PROBLEM IS WHEN I FELT MY CAR SHUDDER WHILE PULLING AWAY FROM THE CURB. IT SERIOUSLY FELT AS THOUGH THE WHEELS WERE GOING TO FALL RIGHT OFF AND OUT FROM UNDER THE CAR. I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPORTED NO PROBLEM ALTHOUGH WHEN WE TEST DROVE THE CAR THE ! LIGHT IN THE DASH CAME ON. SO THEY HAD ME WAIT ABOUT 20 ADDITIONAL MINUTES TO FIX THE ISSUE. SINCE I HAVE GOTTEN MY CAR BACK IT NOW SHUTS COMPLETELY OFF WHEN I COME TO A STOP. I AM FREAKED OUT AND DEVASTATED BY MY OVERWHELMING CONCERN FOR MY 5YR SON AND MYSELF. I JUST AM CURRENTLY NOT FEELING THE "DEPENDABLE DODGE" STATEMENT. HOPEFULLY DODGE RECOGNIZES THAT THIS IS HAPPENING OFTEN AND FIXES IT BEFORE A DEATH OCCURS. SIMPLY IS IT A DANGER TO OUR SELF AND THE COMMUNITY TO DRIVE AROUND IN CARS THAT COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN UNEXPECTEDLY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SECURITY ALARM SYSTEM FAILED TO DISENGAGE UPON ENTERING THE VEHICLE. THE IGNITION WOULD NOT START AND ALL LOCKED DOORS FAILED TO UNLOCK. THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS MANUALLY UNLOCKED. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. ON THE FIRST OCCURRENCE, THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETECT A TROUBLE CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER A SECOND TIME WHERE BOTH KEY FOBS WERE REPROGRAMMED. IN ADDITION TO THE REPAIR, THE WCM AND TIPM WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY AWD. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL SET TO 55 MPH WHEN THE ENGINE EXHIBITED AN ABNORMAL INCREASE IN RPMS OF OVER 5,000. THE CONTACT HAD TO SWITCH OUT OF GEAR TO ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO DECELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,600.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT WAS DIFFICULT TO START THE VEHICLE USING THE KEY. THE CONTACT HAD TO TURN THE KEY IN THE ON AND OFF POSITION NUMEROUS TIMES BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD START. THE DEALER ATTEMPTED TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE, BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND WAS IN THE PROCESS OF ASSISTING THE CONTACT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 23,000. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE WAS NEITHER DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 50,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I JUST BOUGHT A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY FOR MY FAMILY ONE MONTH AGO AND THE BRAKES ARE ALREADY GIVING ME PROBLEMS. THE BRAKES WERE FINE WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THE VEHICLE ONE MONTH AGO. I AM HAVING SEVERE VIBRATIONS IN THE STEERING WHEEL AS A RESULT OF THE ROTORS BEING WARPED. THE CAR ONLY HAS ABOUT 22600 MILES ON IT AND THE ROTORS SHOULD NOT BE WARPED AT THIS POINT IN THE CAR'S LIFE. WHEN BRAKING DOWN STEEP HILLS, THE CAR VIBRATES SO BAD THAT IT SOUNDS LIKE AN 18-WHEELER USING ITS JAKE BRAKE DOWN A HILL. I READ ONLINE AFTER THE PROBLEM STARTED AND DODGE HAS 2 LAWSUITS AGAINST THEM FOR INADEQUATE BRAKES IN THE DODGE JOURNEY. I AM EXTREMELY ANGRY THAT I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR BASED ON IT'S MANY SAFETY OPTIONS AND NOW I AM HAVING THESE PROBLEMS THAT COULD PUT MY FAMILY IN DANGER OR COST ME A GREAT DEAL OF MONEY. *TT

CAR WONT START WHEN KEY IS TURNED ON HAVE TO WAIT BEFORE IT WILL START. THIS HAPPENS ONCE OR TWICE A MONTH SINCE I BROUGHT IT. *TR
I PURCHASED MY 2010 DODGE JOURNEY SXT IN OCT 2010. THE VEHICLE HAS DIED (ELECTRICAL PROBLEM) NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT SPEEDS UP TO 70; HOWEVER, AS LOW AS 10. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN FOUR TIMES AND THEY HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ERROR AND HAVE SENT ME HOME WITH THE VEHICLE. IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON FRIDAY AND I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND NARROWLY ESCAPED AN ACCIDENT. I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. MY CHILDREN WERE IN THE VEHICLE AND I WORRY THAT WE ALL WILL BE KILLED. THIS TIME ALL OF THE LIGHTS CAME ON THE DASH AND THE VEHICLE STOPPED. PREVIOUSLY THERE WAS NO FOREWARNING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN 02/11, 03/11, 04/11 AND 06/11 AND THE ISSUES HAVE NOT BEEN RESOLVED. I HAVE READ SEVERAL BLOGS REPORTING THE SAME PROBLEM AND NO RECOURSE HAS BEEN DONE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. I'M WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AND OTHERS. *TR
WHEN BRAKING AT SPEEDS ABOVE 50 MPH, THERE IS A VIOLENT SHAKE IN THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD, AND NOW NEEDS A THIRD SET OF BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS. THIS IS A CLEAR AND WELL KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE 2009 AND 2010 JOURNEYS, YET THE DEALER (AND CHRYSLER) REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE OR FIX IT. WHEN CALLED CHRYSLER, I WAS TOLD "THEY STAND BEHIND THEIR DEALERSHIP & THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IT'S "NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR", SO THEY WILL NOT AUTHORIZE THE REPAIR". SO BASICALLY, EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE A LOYAL CUSTOMER (ONE WHO HAS NEVER BOUGHT ANYTHING BY MOPAR), THEY DON'T CARE. *JS
WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS 65-75 MPH AND HAVING TO BRAKE HARD THE STEERING WHEEL AND BRAKE PEDALS BEGIN TO VIBRATE VIOLENTLY AND THE BRAKES FEEL AS THOUGH THEY ARE NOT WORKING CORRECTLY? 2010 DODGE JOURNEY SXT WITH CURRENTLY 24K MILES. *TR
AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE FOR LESS THAN A YEAR IT BEGAN TO NOT START AT TIMES. EVERYTHING COMES ON IN THE CAR, WHEN KEY TURNED IT MAKES A CLICKING SOUND BUT DOES NOT START. IT WILL NOT START USING THE KEYLESS START OR BY JUMP STARTING IT. CAR WAS TAKEN INTO DEALER AND A RECALL WAS FOUND ON THE IGNITION WHICH WAS CORRECTED. HOWEVER THE VEHICLE STILL DOES THIS INTERMITTENTLY AND HAS FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS. IT CAN GO MONTHS WITHOUT DOING IT. HOWEVER HAS RECENTLY BEEN DOING THIS DAILY. IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING AND CAN SOMETIMES VARY BETWEEN MINUTES AND HOURS OF STARTING. ONCE IT STARTS THERE ARE NOT ANY ADDITIONAL ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. THIS MAKES THE CAR VERY UNRELIABLE AND UNSAFE AS IT COULD OCCUR IN A SITUATION OF NEEDING TO LEAVE AN AREA QUICKLY OR IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. I AM A SINGLE MOM AND HAVE ONLY ONE VEHICLE. IF CALLED INTO WORK WHILE "ON CALL" STATUS I HAVE ONLY 30 MINUTES TO ARRIVE. WHICH IS A FRUSTRATING AND A WORRY SOME SITUATION WHEN THE CAR WILL NOT START IMMEDIATELY. I CANNOT BE WITHOUT MY CAR WHILE THE DEALER TRIES SEVERAL THINGS TO FIX IT NOR CAN I AFFORD TO TRY VARIOUS PROBLEM FIXES WHEN OBVIOUSLY WITH THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS THERE IS AN INTERNAL PROBLEM WHICH SHOULD CONSTITUTE A RECALL. I AM STILL PAYING ON THIS VEHICLE AND OWE OVER $12,000.00 WHICH CREATES ADDITIONAL FRUSTRATION AS THE VEHICLE IS UNRELIABLE AND CREATING UNSAFE SITUATIONS. *TR
BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2010 DODGE JOURNEY AND IT NEEDED NEW BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS AT JUST 19,000 MILES, WORRIED BRAKES MAY FAIL AT SOME POINT OR ARE NOT SUFFICIENT ENOUGH FOR THE VEHICLE. DEALERSHIP BILLED ME $50 TO GET THEM REPAIRED, STATED CHRYSLER/DODGE COMPANY PUT A "PARTICIPATION FEE" AND IF MY CAR WAS OVER 24,000 MILES IT WOULD BE $100. DODGE SEEMS WELL AWARE OF THIS ISSUE WITH THE BRAKES ON THESE VEHICLES BUT ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT, BRAKES ARE A TOP SAFETY CONCERN FOR ANY VEHICLE, AND I FEEL I AM DRIVING A TICKING TIME BOMB ESPECIALLY WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE. *KB

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 14,000 AND THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
BRAKES WERE VIBRATING AND DIDN'T SOUND RIGHT DEALER REPLACED DUE TO RECALL BUT HAD TO STILL PAY 100 DOLLARS. ALSO ON 9/11/11 REPLACE TURN SIGNAL ON DRIVERS SIDE WHEN WENT OUT IT TOOK OUT BRAKE LIGHTS TOO THEY REPAIRED THAT AND NOW ONLY 6MONTHS LATER PASSENGER SIDE TURN SIGNAL DOING SAME THING THEY REPLACED LIGHT BULB DROVE IT HOME WAS FINE AN HOUR LATER STARTED HAPPENING AGAIN TAKES OUT BRAKE LIGHTS. ALSO WHEN TOOK IN FOR TURN SIGNAL HAD TO HAVE BACK BRAKES REPAIRED FELT SAME VIBRATION AND NOISE. ALSO HAD TO PAY 100 DOLLARS OUT OF POCKET AND CAR ONLY HAS 21,000 MILES. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED SHE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM THE DODGE MANUFACTURER ON THE WIRELESS IGNITION MODULE. THE DODGE NOTIFICATION RECALL#L25 WILL NOT BE EFFECTIVE UNTIL JULY 15, 2011. THE WIRELESS IGNITION MODULE ALSO FAILED PREVENTING THE VEHICLE FROM STARTING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THE RECALL WAS NOT LISTED AND THE PARTS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL JULY 15, 2011. IF THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BEFORE JULY 15, SHE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS AND RECEIVE REIMBURSEMENT FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,800.
I KEEP HAVING TO TAKE MY CAR INTO THE SHOP TO GET IT LOOKED AT. I GO TO START IT AND IT EITHER GETS STUCK TURNING THE ENGINE AND THEN WILL START FINE OR IT WILL JUST CLICK AND NOT START AT ALL. THE PROBLEM ONLY HAPPENED A FEW TIMES BEFORE BUT NOW IT'S STARTING TO HAPPEN 1 OUT OF 5 TIMES. I HAVE HAD THE WIN MODULE REPLACED AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST. *TR
THIS COMPLAINT PERTAINS TO A LIMITED SUPPLY CHAIN PROBLEM WITH THE 2010 DODGE JOURNEY TIRE AND WHEEL COMBINATION WHICH MAY LEAD TO ACCIDENTS. MY 2010 JOURNEY HAS A CUSTOM TIRE SIZE OF 225/55/19, WHICH IS HOW DODGE DESIGNED IT. KUHMO IS THE ONLY TIRE MFG THAT SUPPLIES THIS TIRE SIZE. IN MAY OF 2011 I HAD ONE TIRE FAILURE AND IT TOOK APPROX. 12 DAYS TO LOCATE A TIRE DUE TO A NATIONAL BACK ORDER. THAT RESULTED IN ME RIDING ON MY SMALLER SPARE TIRE DURING THAT TIME. ON JULY 4TH 2011 WE HAD ANOTHER TIRE FAIL AND AGAIN THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT AVAILABLE DUE TO THE CUSTOM TIRE SIZE AND KUHMO'S NATIONAL TIRE SHORTAGE. I AM NOW RIDING ON MY SPARE AGAIN WHILE MY MECHANIC SEARCHES NATIONALLY FOR A TIRE. MY RECOMMENDATION IS THAT YOU ALERT DODGE/CHRYSLER OF THIS ISSUE AND HAVE THEM FIND AN ALTERNATE SUPPLIER OF THIS CUSTOM TIRE SIZE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER AND THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 5600.
MY HUSBAND AND I PURCHASED A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY SE VIN#[XXX] IN YEAR 2010 IN CANADA, IN 2013 WE IMPORTED IT INTO US AND WE ARE LIVING IN MICHIGAN. DURING THE FIVE-YEAR OWNERSHIP, THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN CAUSING SAFETY PROBLEM MANY TIMES, THE ISSUE IS SUDDEN LOST OF ELECTRIC POWER FOR TURNING SIGNAL, WIPER MOTOR POWER, RADIO AND ALL DASHBOARD LIGHT, EXCEPT THE ENGINE RUNNING. THE FIRST TIME OF SUCH INCIDENT HAPPENED WITHIN 1 YEAR OF OWNERSHIP WHILE WE WERE AT TURNING SIGNAL, THE VEHICLE LOST TURNING SIGNAL CAUSED CONFUSION TO THE VEHICLE BEHIND AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT, AND SINCE THEN EVERY FEW MONTHS OR SO THIS INCIDENT HAPPENS, THE DEALER DID MULTIPLE REPAIR TO IT, BUT NEVER REALLY SOLVED THE PROBLEM. MANY TIMES THE DEALERS COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE WE REPORT. I RECENTLY EXPERIENCED TWICE OF SUCH INCIDENTS, ONE WAS DURING RAINING DAY AND THE WIPER LOST POWER I COULD NOT SEE AHEAD AND HAD TO STOP ON ROAD, THE MOST RESENT WAS YESTERDAY I LOST VENTILATION TO THE WINDOW AND COULD NOT SEE THROUGH THE WINDOW DUE TO MOISTURE ON WINDOW. I VIDEO TAPED THESE TWO INCIDENTS AND WOULD LIKE TO FORWARD TO YOU IF I CAN FIND A WAY TO ATTACH TO THIS COMPLAIN LETTER. THIS IS VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE CAN CAUSE FATAL ACCIDENTS, WE NEED YOUR HELP TO FORCE MANUFACTURE TO ADMIT THE ISSUE AND ADDRESS THE ISSUE IMMEDIATELY BEFORE FATAL ACCIDENT HAPPENS. THANK YOU! TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND THE KEY FOB POPPED OUT CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, SHE STARTED THE ENGINE AND ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE RPMS BEGAN TO INCREASE AND VEHICLE STARTED ACCELERATING AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND ADVISED HER TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND LET THEM REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000. AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE, AND THEY WERE UNSURE AS TO WHEN THEY WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 36,000.

I HAD MAJOR PULSATING / VIBRATING WHEN BRAKING ON MY 2010 DODGE JOURNEY AFTER ONLY 16K. I DISCOVERED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM, THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS AND EVEN A FEW CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS ALLEGING THE BRAKE WERE UNDER ENGINEERED / UNDER SIZED FOR THIS CAR, AT LEAST ON THE 2009 & 2010 MODELS. I WAS PLEASED TO LEARN THAT CHRYSLER EXTENDED THE WARRANTY (ACKNOWLEDGING THE PROBLEM) ON THE BRAKES FOR THESE VEHICLES, BUT WAS NOT PLEASED TO FIND OUT THAT 1) THEY WANT YOU TO PAY A $50 OR $100 "DEDUCTIBLE" TO FIX THE PROBLEM (THAT THEY ACKNOWLEDGED BY EXTENDING THE WARRANTY) 2) THE WARRANTY IS ONLY EXTENDED TO 36K MILES AND 3) THAT THE WARRANTY ONLY APPLIES TO THE FRONT BRAKES AND MY REAR BRAKES WERE ALSO WARPED, WHICH I ARGUE IS THE RESULT OF THE FRONT BRAKES BEING UNDERSIZED IN THE FIRST PLACE...HOW ELSE DO YOU EXPLAIN WARPED FRONT AND REAR ROTORS ON A VEHICLE ONLY 1 YR OLD AND ONLY 16K MILES? I PAID THE $50 DEDUCTIBLE FOR THE FRONT BRAKES, PLUS $199 + TAX (REAR BRAKES) TO GET BACK ON THE ROAD, AND PROMPTLY CALLED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE TO PITCH A FIT AND LET THEM KNOW WHAT I THOUGH ABOUT HAVING TO PAY ONE CENT OUT OF MY POCKET FOR A PROBLEM THAT IS WELL DOCUMENTED AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGED (BY EXTENDING THE WARRANTY). I EVENTUALLY RECEIVED A FULL REIMBURSEMENT FROM CHRYSLER FOR THE FULL AMOUNT I PAID, INCLUDING THEIR $50 "DEDUCTIBLE". I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THIS RESOLUTION, BUT STILL DISAPPOINTED THAT I HAD TO EVEN PAY OUT OF POCKET AND INITIATE THE COMPLAINT IN THE FIRST PLACE TO GET REIMBURSED, WHEN THEY ARE FULLY AWARE OF THE ISSUE. ON FLAT SURFACES IT SEEMS TO WORK CORRECTLY , HOWEVER THERE HAS BEEN TWO OCCASIONS, JUST RECENTLY, WHEN MY WIFE WAS OPERATING THE VEHICLE TO AND FROM WORK AT MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY, THAT HAS US ALARMED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND LOCATED THE FAILURE AS A BROKEN DRIVERS SIDE FRONT AXLE WHICH CAUSED THE WHEEL TO SEPARATE. THE MANUFACTURER ENGINEER INVESTIGATION CONCLUDED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT A DEFECT, BUT IT WAS CAUSED BY DRIVER IMPACT. THERE WAS NO MENTION OF INJURIES.THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILES WERE 40,000.

I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE FRONT AND REAR BRAKES ON THIS VEHICLE AT A HUGE EXPENSE AND THE POOR STOPPING ABILITY CAUSED PREMATURE WEAR OF MY TIRES WHICH ALSO HAD TO BE REPLACED AT A LARGE EXPENSE. ALSO, ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS MY VEHICLE WILL NOT CRANK WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED. THE LIGHTS, RADIO, AND WINDOWS CONTINUE TO WORK, RULING OUT THE BATTERY AS THE CAUSE. YOU CAN HEAR A "CLICK" WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED BUT THE CAR REMAINS DEAD. I HAVE BEEN STRANDED IN DANGEROUS SITUATIONS WHEN THIS HAS HAPPENED. EACH TIME THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO SERVICE, NO REMEDY IS MADE AS I AM TOLD THAT THE PROBLEM CAN NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY IN FOR REPAIR WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I PURCHASED A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY (USED) IN SEPTEMBER, 2010. MY PROBLEM FIRST OCCURRED IN MAY, 2011. I WENT OUT TO MY CAR LEAVING WORK, AND IT WOULD NOT START. LIGHTS/HORN/LOCKS/RADIO ALL WORKED, BUT ALL I GOT WHEN I TURNED THE KEY WAS A CLICKING SOUND. AT FIRST THOUGHT, I FIGURED THE BATTERY MAY HAVE DIED AND NEEDED A JUMP-START. BUT THIS DID NOT WORK. AFTER TRYING FOR 1.5 HOURS, I FINALLY HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP. AS SOON AS THE VEHICLE WAS RELEASED FROM THE TOW TRUCK, IT CRANKED RIGHT UP. I HAD THE DEALER RUN A FULL DIAGNOSTIC CHECK ON IT, SINCE IT WAS THERE AND PROBLEM HAD OCCURRED. BUT THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG. I DROVE THE CAR HOME, AND THE PROBLEM BEGAN TO OCCUR MORE FREQUENTLY. IT HAS OCCURRED AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK, WITH WAIT TIMES VARYING. SOMETIMES IT'LL START AFTER 5 MINUTES. OTHER TIMES, I HAVE WAITED 2-3 HOURS WITHOUT IT STARTING, AND HAVE BEEN FORCED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED. OVER THE PAST YEAR I HAVE DRIVEN (OR TOWED) THIS VEHICLE BACK TO MY LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP A 10 TIMES! THE MOST RECENT VISIT WAS ON 7/29/12, WHEN I PAID TO HAVE THE WIN MODULE AND KEY FOB REPLACED, AND IT STILL DOESN'T WORK. I HAVE BEEN GIVEN SEVERAL REASONS FOR THE PROBLEM, ALL OF WHICH THEY HAVE SUPPOSEDLY FIXED (EITHER AT THE EXPENSE OF MY EXTENDED WARRANTY OR AT MY OWN EXPENSE). OTHER TIMES, I HAVE SIMPLY BEEN TOLD THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO BECAUSE THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM WHEN THEY HAVE IT. THE REPRESENTATIVE ADVISED THAT THE RECALL WAS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE POWER STEERING FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE VEHICLE AND TIRE COMPONENTS WERE NOT EFFECTIVELY REMEDIED AND BELIEVED THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.

ON MARCH 15, 2012 I STARTED EXPERIENCING BRAKING PROBLEMS AGAIN WITH 45029 KM ON THE VEHICLE AND ONCE AGAIN WINDSOR CHRYSLER REPLACED MY FRONT ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE VEHICLE. THERE ARE TIMES WHEN THE IGNITION WOULD JUST CLICK, WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START THE CAR. I HAVE TO REMOVE THE KEY MULTIPLE TIMES AND TRY TO START IT, TILL IT STARTS. I WOULD BE DRIVING AND ALL THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS IN THE VEHICLE WOULD JUST GO DEAD. (ALL ELECTRONICS IN DASH BOARD, AIR CONDITIONING, RADIO). I WOULD HAVE TO PULL OVER, TURN THE IGNITION OFF AND RESTART THE CAR. I AM STILL EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM. I REPLACED THE KEY, THINKING IT WAS THE PROBLEM AND I CONTINUE TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE TIRES ON THIS CAR/TRUCK 4 TIMES AT AN AVERAGE OF 30 THOUSAND MILES. I HAD THE ROTATION AND BALANCES AS RECOMMENDED. THE TIRES WORE UNEVEN TO THE POINT WHERE THE WIRES WERE EXPOSED ON THE INSIDE OF THE WHEELS. BASED ON THE DEALERS I HAVE NOT NEEDED A FRONT END ALIGNMENT. I HAVE ALSO HAD THE BRAKES REPLACED ON THIS VEHICLE THREE TIMES IN THE FRONT AND TWICE IN THE REAR. THE VEHICLE HAS 115, 000 MILES AND I HAVE NEVER HAD TO REPLACE PART ON A CAR LIKE I HAVE HAD TO DO WITH THIS ONE. *TR

THERE IS BAD VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEN BRAKING. THE CALIPERS ARE STICKING THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THE FRONT AND BACK BRAKES THE LAST TIME I HAD IT DONE IT WAS AT NTB IT COST RIGHT AT $400.00 TO REPAIR AND THERE IS STILL A PROBLEM WITH BRAKING AND THE VIBRATION. THE CAR FIRST WOULD STALL WHILE DRIVING LOSING ALL POWER, A PLASTIC PIECE WAS INSTALLED TO HOLD KEY AFTER SEVERAL COMPLAINTS. SHORTLY AFTER THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AT ALL ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS LEAVING ME STRANDED THIS HAPPENED FOR ALMOST A YEAR MORE OFTEN THAN NOT AND I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIPS THERE IS NO RECALL AND I WOULD NEED TO PAY TO REPLACE THE IGNITION WHICH I HAD TO FINALLY DO WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD NO LONGER START AT ALL IN JANUARY OF 2012, I NOW HAVE A NEW IGNITION WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND HAVE STILL BEEN EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS ABOUT A MONTH AFTER I REPLACED THE IGNITION AND KEYS WHICH I HAD TO PAY EXTRA FOR A SECOND KEY IT IS GETTING BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS BEFORE I REPLACED THE IGNITION TAKING ME 30 MINS TO START MY CAR TODAY, ALL THE POWER COMES ON THE ENGINE WILL JUST NOT TURN OVER. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE TIRES WHICH WERE AN ARM AND A LEG BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT A COMMON TIRE/SIZE , THEY WANTED ME TO SWITCH TO A DIFFERENT TIRE SIZE WHICH THEN WOULD AFFECT THE SPEEDOMETER.. NO WAY.. I HAVE HAD TO PUT 3 SETS OF ROTORS ON THE CAR AND 2 SETS OF BRAKES, AND GOING ON 2ND SET OF TIRES.. YOU CAN'T TELL ME THERE ISN'T AN ISSUE.. IF I COULD GET RID OF THE LEMON I WOULD BUT FINANCIALLY I AM NOT IN A POSITION TO. I HAVE A FRIEND WITH AN IDENTICAL CAR/COLOR AND WE HAVE THE SAME STORY.. RIDICULOUS! WITH LESS THAN 6000 MILES ON MY 2010 DODGE JOURNEY, I NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS BEGINNING TO SHAKE WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. WHEN I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO HAVE THE TIRES ROTATED, I HAD THE DEALERSHIP THAT I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE FROM LOOK AT THE PROBLEM. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE FRONT ROTORS WERE WARPED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVEN HARD, THE BRAKES ARE NOT SLAMMED, NO JACK RABBIT STARTS. I FIND THAT THE ROTORS NEEDING TO BE REPLACED WITH LESS THAN 6000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE UNACCEPTABLE. I FEEL THAT THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE, AND THE BRAKES ARE ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT SAFETY FEATURES ON A VEHICLE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IN ORDER TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT ABOUT NHTSA RECALL 11V139000: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION BUT THE RECALL HAD NOT BEEN RELEASED AT THE TIME. THE DEALER STATED THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM THAT CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SHUT OFF. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE COULD SHUT OFF AT ANY TIME. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,555.
ENGINE STALLS ON 2010 DODGE JOURNEY..WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ENGINE AND CAR STARTED SHAKING AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. FUEL INJECTOR FIXED. THREE MONTHS LATER SAME PROBLEM TECH'S SAY COMPUTER CAN'T FIND CODES. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME WITH SAME ISSUE NOT RECEIVING ANY HELP FROM DEALERSHIP. MY FAMILY SAFETY IS IMPORTANT TO ME. THE DEALERSHIP STILL HAS MY CAR AFTER 5 DAYS ISSUE NOT RESOLVED. *TR
STARTED WITH A FLASHING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AFTER AWHILE WILL STAY ON & ONLY FLASH INTERMITTENTLY. DEALER FOUND CODE FOR #1 CYLINDER MISFIRE & A TSB TO UPDATE THE SOFTWARE. 2 WEEKS LATER IT RETURNED, WHEN THE LIGHT FLASHES THE STEERING WHEEL & FRONT END SHAKES. NO CODES, NO TSBS. IT RETURNED WITHIN 80 MILES OF LAST TRIP TO DEALER, THEY PERFORMED TSB 18-024-10 CRANK SENSOR SHIM, LIGHT RETURNED ALONG WITH THE SHAKING WITHIN DAYS. DEALER REPLACED FLEXPLATE. AGAIN THE LIGHT RETURNED WITHIN DAYS. NEXT THEY DID SOME FORM OF ENGINE CLEANING, LIGHT RETURNED WITHIN 500 MILES OF LAST ATTEMPT TO FIX. CODES ARE ALWAYS#1 CYLINDER MISFIRE & RANDOM CYLINDER MISFIRE. ON MAY 16TH THE DEALER LOOKED AT IT, DID A COMPRESSION CHECK OF THE CYLINDERS, ALL GOOD. CHRYSLER SUPPORT TOLD THEM TO CHANGE THE PCM. AS OF MAY 19TH IT WAS 7TH NATION WIDE ON BACK ORDER WHILE I CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITH THE LIGHT ON & INTERMITTENT SHAKING HOPING IT DOESN'T LEAVE ME STRANDED BETWEEN NOW & WHEN THE PART COMES IN AS THEY DON'T HAVE AN EXACT DATE. DEALER CLAIMS NO OTHER REPORTED JOURNEYS HAVING THIS PROBLEM.
