POWER STEERING RETURN HOSE BROKE OFF CAUSING NO STEERING. CLOCK SPRING IN STEERING WHEEL BROKE CAUSING HORN TO GO OFF BY ITSELF AND AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT TO STAY ON.
INTERMITTENT STARTING ISSUES FOR THE PAST 3 YEARS. REPLACED THE STARTER TWICE WITHIN THAT TIME FRAME.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND IT SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. THE ENGINE AND ELECTRIC SYSTEM SHUT OFF AND SHE COULD NOT USE THE BRAKES. SHE HAD TO COAST TO A PARKING LOT AND THEN IT STARTED UP AGAIN. WE HAVE TAKEN IT INTO A MECHANIC AND THERE IS NO INFORMATION ON THE COMPUTER REGARDING WHAT HAPPENED. HE CANNOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM.
2010 DODGE JOURNEY. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE BUY BACK PROGRAM. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE BUYBACK PROGRAM FOR STEERING AND AXLE FAILURES.*JS
I WAS DRIVING AND THE CAR CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. TRIED TO CRANK BUT WOULD NOT FULLY TURN OVER. HAD A MECHANIC PULL UP TO SEE WHAT THE ISSUE WAS AND HE SAID IT COULD BE THE CRANKSHAFT. REMOVED IT, NOW I CANNOT FIND THE PART BECAUSE THEY ALL LOOK LIKE THE CAMSHAFT AND MY PART IS STRAIGHT VS THE L SHAPE.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE DRIVER AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON, IT WOULD THEN SHUT OFF AND THEN DING AND TURN BACK ON, IT DID THIS FOR SEVERAL MILES BEFORE IT JUST STAYED ON. ANOTHER INCIDENT THAT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IS THAT ALL THE DASH INDICATOR LIGHTS COME ON WHILE I'M DRIVING, IT PUTS MY CAR IN LIMP MODE, I THEN HAVE TO PULL OVER, SHUT THE CAR OFF AND THEN RESTART IT FOR IT TO BE OK AGAIN. THIS IS A REAL SAFETY CONCERN AS WELL, I COULD CRASH AND GET IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND I TYPICALLY HAVE MY YOUNG KIDS WITH ME. I SEARCHED MY VIN TO SEE IF THE RECALLS HAVE BEEN DONE AND FROM WHAT I CAN SEE THEY HAVE, SO I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS A REOCCURRING ELECTRICAL ISSUE OR IF THIS IS SOMETHING NEW.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD MY ENGINE SHUTS OFF. I HAVE TO PUT CAR IN NEUTRAL AND RESTART ENGINE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BILLION AUTO - CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM IN SIOUX FALLS (5910 S LOUISE AVE, SIOUX FALLS, SD 57108 (605) 309-0970) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THE RETURN POWER STEERING LINE RUPTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED WHO REFERRED CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 16V273000 (STEERING).THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 163,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
FOR NO REASON THE CAR BATTERY DISCHARGES THE HORN SOUNDS BY ITSELF
WHEN U TURN KEY IN IGNITION IT DOESN'T ALWAYS START YOU HAVE TO KEEP TRYING,,,IT WILL GO DAYS WITHOUT STARTING THEN START FOR SEVERAL DAYS HAVE HAD TO TOW UNIT TWICE WINDOWS COME DOWN BY THEMSELVES WHEN VEHICLE NOT RUNNING WHEN U GO TO PUT IT IN DRIVE IT WON'T MOVE OUT OF PARK UNLESS YOU TURN OFF ENGINE AND RESTART VEHICLE HORN GOES OFF WHENEVER IT WANTS TOO CAR DOESN'T ALWAYS UNLOCK WHEN YOU USE REMOTE OR RELOCK ITSELF
HORN BLEW INTERMITTENTLY AT FIRST WHEN SHUTTING DOORS, AND OCCASIONALLY FOR NO REASON. WINDOWS WOULD GO DOWN PART WAY WHEN DOORS WERE SHUT. IGNITION WOULD SOMETIMES JUST CLICK CLICK WHEN KEY IS TURNED, WIPERS WOULD MOVE WHEN NOT ENGAGED TO BE ON. BATTERY WOULD GO COMPLEXLY DEAD FOR NO REASON AND THEN BE OK FOR A MONTH OR TWO AND THEN DO IT AGAIN. HAD TO DISCONNECT THE HORN A FEW YEARS AGO AS IT WOULD NOT STOP GOING OFF. HAS BEEN IN TO KAYER CHRYSLER, DODGE SERVICE SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ISSUE. THEY JUST CALLED AND SAID THEY FOUNSD. SHORT IN THE MAIN ELECTRICAL COMPONENT AND IT WILL COST $1100PLUS FOR PART AND UP TO $200 TO INSTALL. WE HAVE HAD THESE ISSUES SINCE WE BOUGHT IT. OH YEH HEAT AND AIR ON PASSENGER SIDE QUIT WORKING A FEW WINTERS AGO, AND THE DOORS FILL WITH WATER IN EVERY RAIN STORM. PARK ON A HILL AFTER A RAIN AND DOORS WILL DRAIN FOR HOURS. WE HAVE FRIENDS THAT HAVE BOUGHT JOURNEYS AND SAY THEY HAVE NO PROBLEMS REALLY. CAN'T BELIEVE THERE S NOT A RECALL FOR SUCH A MESS. OH YES AND OCCASIONALLY IT WILL NOT SHIFT ALL GEARS AND I NEED TO PULL VER ON HIGHWAY, TURN OFF IGNITION AND RESTART AND IT USUALLY WORKS. WISH I WEREN'T RETIRED ON LIMITED INCOME, I WOULD GET RID OF IT BEFORE I GET KILLED. IYT ONLY HAS 1000,000 MILES. HOPEFULLY IT MATURES SOON,1

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CLASSIC CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM OF DENTON LOCATED AT 4984 S INTERSTATE 35, DENTON, TX 76210, (940) 230-2351, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE, CASE NUMBER: 150800292. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
WHEN TURNING ONE DAY MY HORN HONKED BY ITSELF. I THOUGHT MY HAND SLIPPED AND ACCIDENTALLY HONKED THE HORN THEN A FEW DAYS LATER WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT I HEARD IT AGAIN. IT HONKED TWICE BY ITSELF, CAUSING THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME TO SLAM ON THEIR BRAKES AND ALMOST CAUSED A CRASH. THAT SAME DAY I HEARD IT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS OFF. I WAS I SIDE AND MY HORN HONKED AT LEAST 15 TIMES BY ITSELF. I KNEW IT WASN'T MY KEYS BECAUSE MY KEY FOB HAD BEEN DISCONNECTED FROM MY CAR.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC TO BE REPAIRED THREE TIMES. THE PARTS REPLACED WERE UNKNOWN; HOWEVER THE FAILURE REOCCURRED. THE CONTACT REFERRED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V273000 (STEERING) AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V475000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,000.
I WAS AT A STOPLIGHT WAITING FOR MY RIGHT OF WAY THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN I PUSH ON THE GAS AND IT GOES TO THE CENTER OF THE LIGHTS AND LOSES POWER THEN SHUTS OFF. I TRY TO START BUT IT JUST STARTS CLICKING WITH A RED LIGHTNING BOLT ON THE DASH I TR TO MOVE IN N AND IT WOULDN'T LET ME TILL AFTER LIKE 5 TIMES... FINALLY AFTER ALMOST BEING HIT FROM BEHIND THE OPPOSITE SIDE TURNS GREEN AND IM HAVING TO PUSH THE CAR BY MYSELF WITH 4 KIDS UNDER 4. TILL THIS DAY ITS UNKNOWN SITTING IN MY DRIVE WAY, AND EVER SINCE IT HAS HAPPEN IT WON'T START ANYMORE. NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS TILL THAT DAY ALWAYS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED. AND IT SEEMS LIKE I DRAINS EVERY BATTERY.ALSO A FAMILY MEMBER HAS THE SAME CAR AND THE SAME PROBLEM HAS HAPPEN TO THEM ALSO.
VEHICLE RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF WHEN DRIVING IT TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO HAVE WIRING SENSOR ISSUE JERKS RANDOMLY CAR REPEATEDLY SAYS NEEDS OIL CHANGE WHEN IT DOESN'T AND THERE ARE NO LEAKS
I HAVE ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE THE STARTER ON THIS VEHICLE. THE NEW STARTER APPEARS TO ALREADY BE GOING OUT. WHEN HIT A BUMP THE VEHICLE LIKES TO SHUT DOWN. I CANNOT HOOK MY HORN UP DO TO THE FACT IT LIKES TO GO OFF ON ITS OWN. IT SAYS ON HERE THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS FOUR RECALLS TWO THAT HAVE TO DO WITH THE IGNITION.
SHORTLY AFTER BEGINNING TO DRIVE THE CAR, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON, THE STEERING TIGHTENS UP AND THE BRAKES FREEZE UP. THIS HAPPENS ON COMPLETELY DRY ROADS. THIS HAPPENED 2 TIMES WITHIN 1 MILE OF EACH TIME. THE FIRST TIME I ALMOST WENT THROUGH AN INTERSECTION BECAUSE I COULDN'T GET STOPPED, AND THE SECOND TIME I ALMOST REAR ENDED A CAR. I HAD BOTH OF MY CHILDREN WHO ARE 7 AND 10 IN THE VEHICLE. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED. IT HAPPENED 6 MONTHS AGO, AND MY MECHANIC SAID THE CODE WAS A FAULTY TPM WHICH WAS REPLACED. IT THEN HAPPENED A MONTH AGO, AND THE MOST RECENT TIME WHICH WAS LAST WEEK. I'VE BEEN RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE AND IT SEEMS THAT THE DODGE JOURNEY HAS HAD THIS ISSUE, AMONG OTHERS. IT SEEMS AS IF THIS VEHICLE NEEDS A COMPLETE RECALL. SOMEBODY IS GOING TO END UP SERIOUSLY INJURED OR DEAD. I STILL OWE $10K ON MY VEHICLE AND CANNOT AFFORD TO BUY ANOTHER AND PAY THIS LOAN. I NEED TO GET RID OF THIS VEHICLE AND DODGE NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY.

MY 1010 DODGE JOURNEY HORN INTERMITTENTLY HONKS NON-STOP. NO PATTERN TO THE HONKING. DOES IT WHEN ENGINE IS OFF, ON, OR WHEN DRIVING. CHRYSLER/DODGE DEALERSHIP HAD CAR FROM 8 AM TO 5:30 PM. REMOVED STEERING WHEEL, REROUTED WOME WIRES. ENVOICE SAID SAID 'REFERRED TO STAR CASE S150800292. CHECKED KEY FOBS, ONE TESTED GOOD, THE OTHER WAS INTERMITTENT AT TIMES'. THEY FOUND NO PROBLEM. SAID FOR HE TO ADVISE THEM IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. PAID $116.13 FOR DIAGNOSIS, BUT FOUND NO PROBLEM AS TO WHY HORN WOULD HONK RANDOMLY. DROVE HOME, PARKED CAR IN GARAGE, NO HONKING. NEXT MORNING WENT INTO GARAGE & HORN STARTED BLASTING ON & OFF INTERMITTENTLY. HAD TO PULL LEFT & RIGHT HORN RELAYS (ONCE AGAIN) FROM FUSE BOX. STILL NO ANSWERS, STILL NO HORN. WITH ROAD RAGE THE WAY IT IS TODAY, I FIND THIS TO BE A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE, THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED YEARS AGO. I'VE FOUND MANY FRUSTRATED 2010 DODGE JOURNEY OWNERS ON A DODGE FORUM, WITH SAME PROBLEM, AND NO ANSWERS. PAYING A LOT OF MONEY TO DODGE DEALERS, WITH NO RESULTS OR ANSWERS.
THE POWER STEERING HOSE KEEPS RUPTUREING WHEN YOU FIRST START IT UP
WHEN TRYING TO START VEHICLE I JUST GET A CLICK SOUND NEAR THE DASH AND NO START. ALL LIGHT COME ON BUT NO START. THIS HAS BEEN AND ONGOING ISSUE FOR TWO MONTHS AND WOULD SELECTIVELY START WHEN IT WANTED. NOW IT WILL NOT START AT ALL. THIS HAS CAUSED MY BATTERY TO DRAIN. BATTERY, ALTERNATOR AND STARTER ALL TEST FINE. RESEARCH POINTS TOWARDS THE WIN MODULE BUT MY VIN WAS NOT ISSUED IN THE PREVIOUS RECALL.
CAR WILL START AND TURN OFF MULTIPLE TIMES. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD CAR WILL TURN OFF OF KEYS ARE MOVING TOO MUCH. IF YOU MOVE THE KEYS CAR WILL SOMETIMES TURN BACK ON, OTHERWISE YOU HAVE TO RESTART THE CAR.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO SEVERAL INDEPENDENT MECHANICS HOWEVER, THEY WERE ALL UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT COASTED TO A STOP AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS DESIGNED AFTER BEING RESTARTED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.
WHILE DRIVING, ALL ELECTRICAL GOES OUT OR FLICKERS. THE CAR WILL SOMETIMES LOSE POWER ON ACCELERATION ABOVE 20MPH REGARDLESS IF TURNING, ON HIGHWAY OR NEIGHBORHOOD ROADS. THIS HAS HAPPEN A FEW TIMES SINCE LAST MONTH AND THOUGHT IT WAS MY BATTERY. I EXCHANGED THE BATTERY AND THE ISSUE WASNT RESOLVED.
CAR RANDOMLY WILL NOT CRANK WAIT A WHILE THEN FINALLY STARTS SEEMS TO HAPPEN MORE IF THE CAR HAS BEEN OFF FOR A SHORT PERIOD VS A LONGER PERIOD. I HAVE REPLACED NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH, GROUND CABLE, TIPM, ECM, KEY FOB STILL NO CRANK RANDOMLY

THE CONTACT THEN CALLED SCHLOSSMANN DODGE CITY CHRYSLER JEEP RAM FIAT (19100 W CAPITOL DR, BROOKFIELD, WI 53045) WHERE IT WAS INFORMED THAT HER VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V273000 (STEERING). THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER WHO GAVE HER THE SAME INFORMATION; THEY THEN REFERRED HER TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 140,000. *PM *TP
I NOTICED A CLICKING NOISE AROUND THE IGNITION SWITCH, WHEN THE CAR IS IDLING IN PARK. I TOOK MY CAR IN TO THE LOCAL DODGE DEALER TO BE LOOKED AT. I WAS TOLD THE WIN MODULE WAS GOING OUT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I KNOW THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS, BUT MY VEHICLE'S VIN DID NOT SHOW A RECALL NOTICE FOR THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM.
THE 2010 DODGE JOURNEY WILL RANDOMLY START HONKING, EVEN WHEN DRIVING OR SITTING IN TRAFFIC. IT MAY BE A LONG HONK OR SEVERAL SHORT BEEPS. AFTER PARKING IT WILL NOT START, THERE IS POWER GOING TO THE VEHICLE, IT JUST WON'T START. HAVE HAD BATTERY CHANGED, STARTER CHECKED AND ALTERNATOR CHECKED...ALL IN GOOD CONDITION. IT SEEMS TO HAVE THE MECHANICS STUMPED AS TO WHAT TO DO IN ORDER TO CORRECT THESE PROBLEMS. IT HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR SOME TIME NOW, AND AFTER RESEARCHING OTHER 2010 DODGE JOURNEY PROBLEMS, IT SEEMS THAT THIS ISSUE WITH HONKING AND NOT STARTING IS A HUGE ISSUE. THERE ARE VIDEOS ALL OVER YOUTUBE AND COMMENTS IN CAR FORUMS TALKING ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEMS AND DODGE MECHANICS HAVE NO CLUE AS TO WHAT TO DO, WHILE THE DODGE COMPANY SIMPLY DOES NOT CARE THAT THESE CARS NOT AS RELIABLE AS THEY SHOULD BE.
MY BROTHER WAS DRIVING MY DODGE JOURNEY I WAS THE FRONT PASSENGER AND MY COUSIN WAS IN THE BACK WE WERE HIT FROM THE REAR AND WE RODE OVER TWO AND A HALF TIME AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY ON EITHER SIDE AND WE ALSO SUBSTANED INJURIES I MYSELF WAS IN THE HOSPITAL FOUR DAYS AND I AM STILL OUT OF WORK TO THIS DAY

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
AS I WAS DRIVING I TIRED TO TURN THE WHEEL TO GO AROUND A SMALL CURVE ON A CITY STREET AND IT WOULDN'T TURN. I COULD FEEL THE CAR STARING TO DIE. AS I PUT THE CAR IN PARK TO TURN THE IGNITION OFF THE BREAK PEDAL WOULD NOT WORK. I WAS ABLE TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART WITHOUT ANY ISSUES. LATER MY HORN STARTED HONKING ON ITS OWN. AND CONTINUES TO HONK RANDOMLY. ALSO THE ALARM RANDOMLY WENT OFF ONCE YESTERDAY. TODAY IT HAS RANDOMLY HONKED ALL AFTERNOON.
2010 DODGE JOURNEY WILL NOT START. BATTERY TESTED GOOD AND ALL CONNECTIONS ARE GOOD AND WILL START SOMETIMES AND WILL NOT START SOMETIMES HAVE TO CYCLE THROUGH GEARS AND THEN SOMETIMES WILL START
HORN STARTS BEEPING WHEN PARKED. THIS IS NOT HAPPENING ALL THE TIME BUT OCCASIONALLY AT NIGHT WHEN PARKED IN OUR DRIVEWAY OR GARAGE WHEN WE ARE SLEEPING AND THE HORN CHIRPING WAKES US UP. WHEN I CHECK ON IT IT IS SILENT. WHEN PARKED IN PARKING LOT I WAS TOLD MY HORN WAS GOING OFF AND WHEN I WENT OUT TO CHECK IT WAS NO LONGER MAKING ANY NOISE. THIS PAST WEEK WHILE PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY, IT STARTED HONKING CONSTANTLY TO THE POINT I HAD TO REMOVE THE 2 FUSES FOR IT TO STOP.
MY VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY NOT START. I TURN THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND THE LIGHTS AND RADIO COME ON, BUT IT ONLY CLICKS AND DOESN'T START. THEN I ATTEMPT TO START IT AGAIN AND IT WILL MAGICALLY START. THIS INTERMITTENT STARTING HAS NO RHYME OR REASON AND HAS LEFT ME STRANDED WITH MY LITTLE GIRL. NO MECHANIC OR REPAIR SHOP CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG.
AT TIMES MY VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE BEYOND 35-40 MPH. ONCE IT REACHED THIS SPEED THE VEHICLE SHAKES UNCONTROLLABLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON BOTH CITY STREETS AND THE HIGHWAY. I HAD TO IMMEDIATELY GET OFF OF THE HIGHWAY. IT IS VERY UNSAFE WITH A CHILD IN THE CAR AND I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE.
WHEN U TURN KEY IN IGNITION IT DOESN'T ALWAYS START YOU HAVE TO KEEP TRYING,,, WINDOWS COME DOWN BY THEMSELVES WHEN VEHICLE NOT RUNNING WHEN U GO TO PUT IT IN DRIVE IT WON'T MOVE OUT OF PARK UNLESS YOU TURN OFF ENGINE AND RESTART VEHICLE HORN GOES OFF WHENEVER IT WANTS TOO CAR DOESN'T ALWAYS UNLOCK WHEN YOU USE REMOTE OR RELOCK ITSELF ALL THESE THINGS HAPPEN WHEN NOT IN MOTION THIS ALL HAPPENS AT DIFFERENT TIMES IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS WE HAVE PAID TO GET IT REPROGRAMMED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOCAL DEALER BILL SNETHKAMP CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM LOCATED AT 16400 WOODWARD AVE, HIGHLAND PARK, MI 48203, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION KEY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF YET. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000.
THE VEHICLE CONTINUOUSLY STALLS WHILE I'M DRIVING. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN ON THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE IT'S A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. THE HORN GOES OFF CRAZILY SOMETIMES WHILE PARKED. AND, RECENTLY WHILE DRIVING LOCALLY IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD THE CAR OVER HEATED. THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON OFF , AND SOMETIMES I HAVE TO WAIT A WHILE BEFORE I CAN GET THE CAR TO START. I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND HE'S UNSURE OF WHAT'S GOING ON AND QUESTIONS RECALL. I HAVE SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS AND IT'S BEEN A FRUSTRATING JOURNEY WITH THIS JOURNEY.
SYMPTOMS OF 14V373000 EXPERIENCED WHILE DRIVING. DEPOWERED CAR WHILE IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET (35 MPH) AS IF KEY HAD BEEN SWITCHED OUT OF RUN POSITION, CAUSING SEVERE LOSS OF CONTROL (POWER STEERING, BRAKES, ETC.).
The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the throttle warning light would flash on the instrument panel as the vehicle would either stall or go into limp mode. The contact also stated that the vehicle would fail to start up after multiple attempts without warning. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic where the ECU, suspension, and several various electrical components were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure and offered no assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
CAR WILL NOT START AT TIMES. CANT PUT IT IN GEAR AT TIMES. EAP LIGHT COMES ON WITHOUT ANY ISSUES. SEEMS ALL ELECTRICALLY ISSUES MUST REPAIR BRAKE AND TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS EVERY OTHER MONTH
ELECTRICAL ISSUES: FIRST OCCURRENCE: ALARM SYSTEM KEPT GOING OFF EVEN WHEN THE KEY WAS IN IGNITION, ONLY WAY TO SOLVE ISSUE WAS TO UNHOOK HORN. SECOND OCCURRENCE: PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW WILL NOT ROLL DOWN WITH POWER BUTTONS ON PASSENGER SIDE, HOWEVER WILL ROLL DOWN FROM DRIVER SIDE. ALTHOUGH EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE IT WILL OUT OF THE BLUE WORK. THIRD OCCURRENCE: WITHOUT PRESSING ON THE KEY FOB IF ANYTHING RUBS UP AGAINST THE KEY FOB IT UNLOCKS CAR JUST LIGHTLY BRUSHING SKIN AGAINST IT BUT PRESSING THE UNLOCK WILL NOT UNLOCK IT. FOURTH OCCURRENCE WINDOWS ARE ROLLING DOWN ON THEIR OWN. AT LEAST ONCE A DAY I WILL LOOK OUTSIDE AND THE WINDOWS ARE ROLLED DOWN HALF WAY AND ITS BEEN 22 DEGREE TEMPS OUTSIDE SO I KNOW FOR A FACT THEY ARE NOT BEING ROLLED DOWN INTENTIONALLY, IVE WITNESSED ON ONE OCCASION THEM ACTUALLY ROLLING DOWN ON THEIR OWN.
FRONT SEAT BELT BUCKLE SOMETIMES DOES NOT LOCK SECURE IN PLACE SEATBELT WILL POP OUT AND NEED TO RE INSERT THE SEAT BELT INTO THE BUCKLE DRIVER SIDE
I WAS DRIVING ON A VERY HOT DAY (107 DEGREES), AND THE PASSENGER HEADREST EXPLODED. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET. NO ONE WAS SITTING IN THE SEAT, SO I ASSUME IT WAS DUE TO DRIVING IN HIGH HEAT. IT SOUNDED LIKE A GUNSHOT WENT OFF IN MY CAR AND I ALMOST GOT IN AN ACCIDENT. THE HEADREST IS COMPLETELY BROKEN.
WHILE DRIVING THE HORN STARTED HONKING ON IT'S OWN. STOPPED FOR A FEW HOURS THEN STARTED BLARING ON IT'S OWN WHILE CAR WAS PARKED AND OFF FOR A SOLID HOUR. HAD TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY TO GET IT TO STOP UNTIL I CAN FIND THE FUSES. REMOVE THE FUSES FOR A WHILE AND IT STOPS. REPLACE FUSES AND IT STARTS DOING IT AGAIN. BATTERY WENT DEAD BECAUSE OF NOT BEING ABLE TO HEAR THE ALARM GOING OFF WHEN THE DOOR HANDLE WAS PULLED WHILE CAR WAS LOCKED.
MY JOURNEY SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. I WILL BE DRIVING AND THEN VEHICLE WILL JUST SHUT OFF AND I LOSE BRAKES AND POWER STEERING. BUT VEHICLE WILL START BACK UP.
THE HEADREST ON OUR 2010 DODGE JOURNEY POPPED OPEN AS WE WERE DRIVING DOWN I-20. NO ACCIDENT, NO BUMP IN THE ROAD, NO SUDDEN STOP... IT JUST SPRUNG OPEN AND SMACKED MY HUSBAND IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD.
