TAMARA RECALL- MY HORN RANDOMLY HONKS WHILE I'M DRIVING, SITTING AT A RED LIGHT, AND WHILE IT'S PARKED. THE BEEP WILL LAST AS LONG AS 5-10 SECONDS. ALL TIMES OF THE DAY. YESTERDAY 2/15/19 REPLACED THEPART# P/N 4692305AI POWER MODULE INV# 11491 AND IT STILL HONKS RANDOMLY TODAY 2/16/19. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS NOW DAYS AND I LIVE IN THE CITY. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH A BEFORE THE REPAIR. AND NUMEROUS TIMES 6 MONTHS AGO. THEN I WENT TO A DEALERSHIP AND HAD MY REMOTE TESTED IT WAS FINE. THE HONKING HAPPENED A FEW MORE TIMES THEN STOPPED UNTIL A MONTH AGO.TODAY 2/16/19 IS THE START OF THE THIRD SERIES OF THIS PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING HOSE WAS LEAKING FLUID. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING HOSE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V273000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING FAILED TO OPERATE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED ONE MORNING. THE CONTACT NOTICED A LARGE PUDDLE OF POWER STEERING FLUID UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CALLED HAWK CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP (7911 W ROOSEVELT RD, FOREST PARK, IL 60130, (708) 366-1001) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE; THEREFORE, THE REPAIR COSTS WOULD NOT BE COVERED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND AGREED WITH THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
LOSS OF STEERING TWICE DUE TO EXTREMELY COLD WEATHER. RETURN HOSE BURST AND LOST POWER STEERING. ALSO POWER STEERING FLUID LEAK. HIGH PRESSURE HOSE BURST LOSS OF STEERING AGAIN.
OCCASIONALLY CAR WILL NOT START. A FEW HOURS LATER IT WILL START. HAPPENS 3X PER MONTH FOR PAST 6 MONTHS. ALSO WINDSHIELD WIPERS OCCASIONALLY WILL NOT WORK. BATTERY, STARTER, & ALTERNATOR TEST GOOD. SUSPECTED PROBLEM IS WITHIN THE TIPM
DRIVING ALONG AND CUT OFF. NO BREAKS AND NO STEERING WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE ON THE INTERSTATE. THIS ISSUE HAPPENED ON MORE THAN TWO OCCASIONS.
FIRST MAJOR PROBLEM IS CAR STARTS WHEN IT FEELS LIKE IT, HAD TO REPLACE STARTER ($520) IN THE FIRST WEEK THAT I OWNED THE VEHICLE AFTER GETTING A JUMP SEVERAL TIMES I PURCHASED I JUMP KIT ($125)IN CASE IT WOULDNT START AND THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS AROUND THEN THE JUMP KIT WOULDNT EVEN WORK. SO I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED ($130) AND THE STARTER REPLACED. IF I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND TRY TO START IT AGAIN 10 MINS LATER IT WONT START BUT IF YOU WAIT ABOUT AN HOUR, IT WILL START. THIS STILL HAPPENS AFTER HAVING THE STARTER REPLACED SO I HAVE TO KEEP THE CAR RUNNING OR RISK BEING STRANDED FOR AN HOUR OR SO. SECOND PROBLEM, ABOUT A MONTH AFTER BUYING THE VEHICLE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND WAS USING THE CRUISE CONTROL, WAS GOING DOWN A HILL AND THE RPMS WENT ALL THE WAY UP INTO THE RED AND HIGH AS IT COULD THEN WENT DOWN TO ZERO AND THE ENGINE COMPLETLY STALLED WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. SINCE THEN I HAVEN'T USED THE CRUISE CONTROL. THIRDLY, THE PASSANGER SIDE HAS ZERO HEAT. THE DEFROSTER, THE HEAT VENTS ON THE DASH AND THE HEAT VENTS AT THE FEET ALL BLOW OUT COLD AIR. FOURTH PROBLEM, THE HORN WOULD HONK RANDOMLY, WHILE DRIVING OR PARKED. 5TH PROBLEM THE KEY FOB DOES WHAT IT WANTS WHEN IT WANTS. CAME OUT OF THE MALL AND MY ALARM WAS GOING OFF (JUST THE LIGHTS I HAD TO REMOVE THE HORN FUSES BECAUSE OF THE HONKING ISSUE) AND COULD NOT TURN THE ALARM OFF OR UNLOCK THE DOORS WITH THE FOB, HAD TO USE THE ACTUAL KEY FROM INSIDE THE FOB TO GET IN THE CAR AND THEN START IT, SHUT IF OFF THEN I WAS ABLE TO SHUT OFF THE ALARM. 6TH PROBLEM THE CAR WILL RANDOMLY UNLOCK WHEN I'M NOT EVEN HOLDING THE KEY FOB AND THE FRONT WINDOWS WILL ROLL DOWN HALF WAY. THIS CAR HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT ISSUES SINCE I BOUGHT IT DODGE NEEDS TO HAVE A RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE THERE ARE SO MANY SAFETY ISSUES! BOUGHT THIS CAR BECAUSE I WANTED A SAFE VEHICLE FOR MY FAMILY AND THIS CAR HAD BEEN ANYTHING BUT!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, AIR BAGS). THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 144,000.
CARS HORN STARTS BEEPING WHENEVER IT WANTS. TRACTION CONTROL GOES OFF WHENEVER IT WANTS KEEPING US FROM GETTING CAR IN DRIVE. LOST POWER TO EVERYTHING WHEN DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY. RETURN LINE OF POWER STEERING PUMP HAS RUPTURED 6 TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR. IT JUST DID IT AGAIN 1-20-2019. THE LAST RUPTURE WASTED THE PUMP.
I HAVE TAKEN IT GOTTEN IT FIX SO MANY TIMES THE LIGHT WILL STAY OFF FOR A WEEK THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS KEEP COMING ON SAYING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER. THEN IT WILL ADD MORE THINGS THAT IS WRONG. IT WILL CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING ALL THE LIGHTS COME ON. I WON'T GET ON FREEWAY SCARED IT WILL JUST CUT OFF
HORN CONSISTENTLY BLOWING WHILE CAR IS TURN OFF SITTING STATIONARY,WHILE DRIVING ALL HOURS OF DAY AND NIGHT. TOOK HORN FUSES OUT TO STOP HORN FROM BLOWING. AS SOON AS WE PUT FUSES BACK IN HORN STARTS BLOWING AS IF THE CAR IS POSSESSED. HORN BLOWING ON OWN WHILE DRIVING DOWN CITY STREETS,HIGHWAYS AND STATIONARY.NOTICED HEAD LIGHTS FLASHING AS IF ALARM GOING OFF. CLICKING NOISE AS IF ELECTRICAL WIRES ARE TOUCHING COMING FROM FUSE BOX AREA. DRAINING BATTERY HAD TO REPLACE BATTERY WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF PURCHASE. CHANGED THE CAR ENGINE COMPUTER CAUSE THAT WENT OUT,NOT SURE IF THAT'S A RESULT OF THIS ISSUE.THERE ARE A HUGE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME OR SIMILAR PROBLEMS IF YOU GOOGLE IT. TOOK TO SEVERAL INDEPENDENT MECHANICS NO ONE CAN DETECT THE ISSUE. APPARENTLY THE DODGE DEALERSHIPS CAN'T DETECT PROBLEM EITHER ACCORDING TO THE COMPLAINTS I'VE READ ON GOOGLE. PLEASE HELP US THIS PROBLEM IS ANNOYING! TO MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE AND NO ONE CAN DETECT THE PROBLEM! THERE NEED TO BE A RECALL! I'M AFRAID MY CAR IS GOING TO CATCH ON FIRE! 2010 DODGE JOURNEY - WON'T START - ELECTRICAL ISSUES - BATTERY IS GOOD BUT WON'T CRANK - TRIED DIFFERENT KEY - LOT'S OF PROBLEMS WITH THESE CARS
HORN RANDOMLY GOES OFF WHILE SITTING AND DRIVING. DOESN'T MATTER IF THE CAR IS RUNNING OR NOT! CREATES A MAJOR DISTRACTION FOR EVERYONE ON THE ROAD AND COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTS AND/OR ROAD RAGE INCIDENTS WHILE AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR STOP SIGN!
CAR OCCASIONALLY DOESN'T STAY IN HIGH GEAR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. NEED TO PULL OVER AND TURN CAR OFF TO GET IT TO SHIFT TO HIGH GEAR AGAIN. THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ALSO DOESN'T HOLD ITSELF ON HILLS AT A LIGHT. IT ROLLS BACKWARD UNLESS I HOLD THE BREAK. AIR DIVERTER BOX BEHIND GLOVE BOX BANGS EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS OFF.
PASSENGER SIDE HEAT DOES NOT WORK. ONLY BLOWS OUT COLD AIR IN ALL VENTS, DEFROST, FRONT AND FEET. CAUSES WINDOWS TO FOG UP AND BAD VISIBILITY AND ALSO DOES NOT KEEP YOU WARM. ALSO AT TIMES IT WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO CHANGE THE HEAT CONTROLS SUCH AS FROM DEFROST TO FRONT OR FEET. HAPPENS NO MATTER IF CAR IS PARKED OR DRIVING. THE COLDER OUT IS IS THE WORSE THE PROBLEM. HUGE SAFETY ISSUE LIVING IN MINNESOTA. ALSO SERCHED GOOGLE AND THERE WERE 100'S OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS IN DODGE JOURNEYS ALL DIFFERENT YEARS.

CHARLES CAPPER FORD INC (409 N HIGHLAND ST, WILLIAMSBURG, IA 52361, (319) 668-1910) DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE, BUT COULD NOT LOCATE A FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
AS A DODGE OWNER I BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE IGNITION OR THE IGNITION KEY. THE CAR DOES NOT START IMMEDIATELY LIKE YOU WOULD EXPECT IT IN A NORMAL WAY TO GET IT TO START. STARTS WHEN IT FEELS LIKE IT. THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES THAT I HAVE TO WAIT FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR OR GET A JUMP STAR FORM A GOOD SAMARITAN, BUT IT WILL NOT RESPOND WITH A JUMP EITHER. IT HAS BEEN FRUSTRATED FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE PLACE I BOUGHT IT FROM AND IT WAS AN IN AND OUT OF THE SHOP FOR ABOUT A COUPLE MONTHS AND THE PROBLEMS WAS NEVER RESOLVED. NOW DAYS IT JUST DIES AND I HAVE TO JUMP START IT AND WORKS FOR A DAY, THEN STOPS AGAIN...... IT IS SOOOO FRUSTRATED. FOR THE LAST COUPLE MONTH MY CAR HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE SHOP AND THE PROBLEM IS THE SAME. SOME TOLD ME RECENTLY TO CHECK FOR ANY RECALLS.
WHEN WE DRIVE THROUGH THE INTERSECTION OF THE CITY, THE CAR'S ENGINE STALLED TWICE SUDDENLY AND THE STEER WHEEL CAN NOT WORK. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND MAY CAUSE TRAFFIC ACCIDENT.
TODAY WHEN WE DRIVE ON THE INTERSECTION OF STREET IN A CITY, THE CAR'S ENGINE STALLED TWICE AND THE STEEL WHEEL CAN NOT WORK. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND MAY CAUSE TRAFFIC ACCIDENT.
WAS LEAVING WORK AND LOST STEERING. UPON CHECKING REALIZED THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING FLUID IN CAR. I ADDED POWER STEERING FLUID AND STARTED CAR IT IMMEDIATELY STARTED RUNNING OUT OF THE CAR JUST INSIDE AND BEHIND THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION I DISCOVERED THE RUBBER LINE HAD SIMPLY SLID OFF OF THE HARD LINE. IT SLID RIGHT BACK ON. THE FACTORY "SPRING" CLAMP CAN BE COMPRESSED WITH MY FINGERS. I TOOK IT OFF AND REPLACED WITH A WORM GEAR CLAMP TO INSURE THAT IT STAYS ON. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A REAL DANGER IF IT HAD HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEED. I AM ATTACHING A PICTURE OF ORIGINAL CLAMP.
KBB SHOWS IGNITION RECALL ON THE 2010 DODGE JOURNEY MY VEHICLE RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING WITH NO OTHER ISSUES. SOME DAYS IT DOES FINE. COULD BE A COUPLE WEEKS AND THEN WILL RANDOMLY SHUT OFF MAKING IT VERY UNSAFE FOR A FAMILY VEHICLE. DODGE DEALERSHIP SAYS THERE NO OPEN RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED WITH AN UNKNOWN DEALER FOR NEXT WEEK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 167,846.
CAR TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT GOES ON. STEERING AND BREAKS DO NOT WORK WHEN THIS HAPPENS CREATING AN EMERGENCY SITUATION FOR DRIVER AND PASSENGERS AS WELL AS THE PUBLIC AS CRASH IS VERY POSSIBLE. CAR WILL NOT START IMMEDIATELY UPON ATTEMPTING TO RESTART. IF IT DOES START, WITHIN 5 MINUTES THE CAR WILL SHUT DOWN AGAIN MID DRIVE. CAR FAILS TO ACCELERATE ABOVE 1500 RPMS RIGHT BEFORE CAR SHUTS OFF. .
EVERYTIME IT GETS COLD OUTSIDE MY POWER STEERING LINE WHICH I BELIEVE IS THE RETURN HOSE KEEPS BLOWING OFF AND LOSE THE POWER STEERING. MY WIFE AND KIDS WHERE DRIVING AND ALMOST GOT INTO A BAD ACCIDENT DUE TO IT. IT BEEN HAPPENING FOR PAST 3 DAYS.
HORN. THE HORN SOUNDS ARBITRARILY WHEN DRIVING AND WHEN NOT DRIVING. IT STARTLES DRIVER AND VEHICLES CLOSE TO DRIVER -- MAY CAUSE ROAD RAGE BY OTHERS ASSUMING YOU ARE HONKING AT THEM WHEN YOU ARE NOT. THE HORN HAS SOUNDED AT 2:00 A.M. WHEN NO ONE IS NEAR THE VEHICLE OR THE FOB. THE HORN HAD TO BE DISCONNECTED TO GET IT TO STOP. WHEN TAKEN TO THE SHOP, DODGE SERVICE CENTER IN STOCKTON, CA ADVISED THEY HAVE NOT HEARD OF THE PROBLEM; HOWEVER, WHEN RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE ON THE INTERNET THERE ARE MANY, MANY DODGE JOURNEY AND RAM OWNERS WHO COMPLAIN OF THE SAME ISSUE. FROM READING THE VARIOUS ACCOUNTS OF THE SAME PROBLEM, THERE DOES NOT APPEAR ANYONE WHO HAS SPECIFICALLY DETERMINED THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. AFTER HAVING TO DISCONNECT THE HORN FUSE, THE VEHICLE IS RENDERED UNSAFE TO THE OWNER, PEDESTRIANS, AND OTHER DRIVERS. THE PROBLEM CONTINUES INTERMITTENTLY WITH NO COMMON VARIABLE.
I HAVE A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY THAT WE HAVE REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS AT LEAST 3 TIMES SINCE DECEMBER WE HAVE REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER AND CALIPERS. THE BRAKE CONTINUE TO HEAT UP AND CAUSE ISSUES. WE HAVE ALSO REPLACED BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE HOSES.
DASH MAKES CLICKING NOISES, THE HORN GOES OFF BY ITSELF, I COULD BE DRIVING OR JUST SITTING STILL, THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS, TOOK IT IN TWICE TO HAVE IT CHECKED, THEY ALL ARE CONFUSED AS WHY THIS IS HAPPENING
SENTRY SECURITY FEATURE RANDOMLY MALFUNCTIONS, DEACTIVATING THE ENGINE AND STRANDING THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE MAKES CLICK NOISE WHEN KEY FOB IS TURNED TO START, BUT ENGINE WON'T TURN OVER. THEN VEHICLE WILL ACT LIKE THE BATTERY IS DEAD, EVEN THOUGH IT ISN'T. THE VEHICLE WILL WORK NORMALLY FOR MONTHS WITH NO PROBLEMS. NO WARNINGS AND NO PATTERNS. ONLY ABLE TO START AGAIN AFTER A FEW HOURS LEFT ALONE. NO ACTION RESOLVES THE ISSUE.
NOVEMBER 20, 2018 \ HORN FOR MY 2010 DODGE JOURNEY SE HAS BEEN GOING OFF BY ITSELF REPEATEDLY OVER THE PAST 2 YEARS. HAPPENS WITHOUT WARNING AND AT ALL TIMES OF THE DAY AND NIGHT GOES OFF WHILE PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND WHILE GOING DOWN MAIN STREETS AND HIGHWAYS. LENGTH OF TIME IT GOES OFF VARIES. THIS HAS DRAINED MY BATTERY AND HAS ON OCCASION, HAS COMPLETELY DISABLED MY HORN. LOCAL DODGE DEALER, INTERSTATE DODGE, WEST MONROE, LA, SAID THEY FOUND NO PROBLEM WITH THE HORN WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE. HOWEVER, IT STILL GOES OFF WITHOUT NOTICE. MOST RECENTLY TODAY, 11\20\2018. IT FINALLY STOPPED WHEN I TURNED THE IGNITION TO "ACC". AM SERIOUSLY CONCERNED THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM OF MY 2010 DODGE JOURNEY SE IS AT RISK. THIS CAR COULD "DIE" ON ME IN TRAFFIC.
I WAS PICKING UP MY KIDS FROM SCHOOL AND MY HORN KEPT GOING OFF. IT WENT OF ALL THE WAY HOME I HAD TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T STOP. EVEN AFTER IT WAS TURNED OFF AND PARKED.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE HAD TWO BRAND NEW BATTERIES PLACED IN HER VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THEY CONTINUED TO DRAIN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE USB OUTLET REMAINED POWERED ON AND THE CD PLAYER WOULD ACTIVATE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS POWERED OFF. WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE, IT FAILED TO START AND MADE AN UNKNOWN NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO JUMPSTARTED THE VEHICLE. AFTERWARDS, THE VEHICLE PERFORMED NORMALLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 59642545. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 149,000.
I'VE HAD MY TRUCK TWO YEARS AND I HAVE REPLACED THE STARTER 5 TIMES. I JUST REPLACED IT ON 11-11-18. TODAY IS 11-17-18 AND ITS GOING OUT AGAIN. I'VE HEARD THAT ALL THE 2009 AND 2010 ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. AND THE REPAIR SHOPS DON'T KNOW WHATS GPING ON.

THE TIPM IS STARTING TO FAIL (WHICH APPARENTLY DODGE KNEW ABOUT BUT WILL NOT FIX DUE TO LACK OF REPORTS) FUSES AND RELAYS ARE STARTING TO BLOW CAUSING ALL KINDS OF ELECTRICAL ISSUES. THE TIPM FOR THE CAR IS TYPICALLY 500-1000 DOLLARS WHICH IS A LOT TO SPEND TO FIX ON A CAR THAT THE MANUFACTURER KNEW WOULD EVENTUALLY HAPPEN. DO NOT EVER BUY THIS VEHICLE. WORST CAR TO OWN!! EVER!!
MY DODGE JOURNEY WILL LEAVE ME STRANDED, IN WHAT IT SEEMS, THE MOST INCONVENIENT TIMES. THIS ISSUE WILL HAPPEN AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK NOW. I WILL TURN THE IGNITION AND TRIED TO START THE CAR, BUT ALL I'LL GET IS A "CLICK" SOUND. SOMETIMES PUTTING THE CAR IN NEUTRAL WORKS, MOST OF THE TIME DOESN'T. SOMETIMES I CAN'T EVEN GET THE CAR OUT OF PARK, EVEN WHEN THE KEY IS INSERTED AND MOVED TO START. WHAT IT SEEMS TO WORK ALMOST EVERYTIME IS TO WAIT IT OUT. IT'S A HUGE WASTE OF TIME, BUT I'VE WAITED ANYWHERE FROM 18 MINUTES UP TO 1 HOUR AND 34 MINUTES. I'VE TAKEN THE SUV ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS TO THE DEALERSHIP AND SPEND MORE THAN $2,000 IN APPARENT FIXES THAT DOESN'T DO ANYTHING. I'VE DONE RECALLS FOR THE IGNITION AND THE WIRE HARNESS, AS WELL AS REPLACING THE BATTERY (TWICE), STARTER (THREE TIMES) AND THE NEUTRAL SAFETY POSITION SWITCH (ONCE). CALLED DODGE ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, BUT THEIR RESPONSE IS THAT THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT'S CAUSING THIS PROBLEM AND THAT APPARENTLY THERE'S NOT ENOUGH COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE. THIS IS THE VEHICLE MY WIFE USES TO GO TO WORK AND TAKE THE KIDS AROUND. I'VE READ THAT SOME PEOPLE, THEIR VEHICLES, JUST STOPPED WORKING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET WHILE THEY WERE DRIVING. SUPER UNSAFE AND DODGE DOESN'T WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR MALFUNCTION.

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 156,000.
KEY CAN BE TURNED OFF, AND OUT, BUT WILL NOT KILL THE ENGINE, OR LIGHTS. IGNITION SWITCH MODULE REPLACEMENT THROUGH DEALER, AND REPROGRAMMING IS THE ONLY WAY TO FIX IT. SEEN A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT DEALER TELLS ME MY CAR IS NOT ON THE LIST. I TURN MY CAR OFF PULL THE KEY OUT, AND I AM STILL ABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR AS IF THE KEY WAS IN IT.

I bought this used from Rainbow Motor Sales. Ever since I have had trouble with the heating system. I have replaced the heater core. I have had this flushed also. Last winter only the driver side had heat. So far this fall it will blow nothing but cold air.

THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTHS AND I HAD TOPULL FUSES TO STOP IT. MULTIPLE PEOPLE COMPLAINING ONLINE ABOUT THIS ISSUE WITH DODGE VEHICLES.

STARTING ISSUES
IT STARTED WITH A WINDOW NOT GOING UP, THEN THE ELECTRICAL WIRES TO THE FRONT LEFT HEADLIGGT BURNED OUT AND MELTED THE BULB CONNECTOR. BULB CONNECTOR WAS REPLACED AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. KEYLESS ENTRY FOBS STOPPED WORKING, BATTERIES WERE CHANGED AND FOBS WERE TESTED BUT THEY STILL DON'T WORK. ALARM GOES OFF AT RANDOM TIMES AND TAKES US STARTING AND MOVING THE CAR 50 FEET TO TURN IT OFF. THE OTHER NIGHT THE CAR HORN WENT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT RANDOMLY, ABOUT 12 TIMES. NOW THE HORNNIS GOING OFF AS WE DRIVE FOR NO REASON. THIS CAR CKEARLY HAS ELECTRICAL ISSUES. ELECTRICAL PARTS KEEP BURNING OUT CAUSING ME TO CHANGE THEM FOR REINSPECTION TIME BY THE STATE.

WHEN THE SUN CAME UP I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO FIGURE OUT WHICH FUSES TO PULL TO DISCONNECT THE HORN AND WHILE SEARCHING TO FIND THIS OUT I SAW THAT MANY OTHER DODGE JOURNEY OWNERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THERE NEED TO BE SOME KIND OF RECALL I CAN'T DRIVE WITHOUT A HORN THATS A SAFETY HAZARD BUT WITH THE WORLD WE LIVE IN NOW I ALSO CAN'T HAVE A HORN JUST GOING OFF AT ANY TIME IN TRAFFIC SOME PEOPLE MIGHT THINK YOU ARE BLOWING AT THEM. DIRT ROAD, APPROXIMATELY 8:47PM SEPT 2018 HORN BLARES OFF CAUSING CYCLIST TO VERGE OFF PATH AN DIRECTLY ONTO ROAD CAR STRUCK BICYCLE TRAPPING IT UNDER VEHICLE AN DRAGGING IT 14FEET BICYCLIST WAS ABLE TO JUMP OFF IN TIME. POLICE REPORT WAS GIVEN INSURANCE WAS NOTIFIED. JOB ONSITE SECURITY NUMEROUS TIMES IN THE PAST 11MONTHS HAS NOTIFIED MYSELF OF THE CONSTANT BLARING.
