THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CAME ON AND STAYS ON - THIS APPARENTLY DISABLES AIRBAGS SO THEY WILL NOT GO OFF IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH AND APPROACHING A STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP ON COMMAND WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT HAD TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE FLOORBOARD TO SLOW DOWN AND STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ABS NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V675000 (ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE CONTACT CALLED WALNUT CREEK CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (LOCATED AT 2404 N MAIN ST, WALNUT CREEK, CA 94596, (888) 377-2513) TO NOTIFY THEM OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 153,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE ABS WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT SHE WAS UNABLE TO SET HER CRUISE CONTROL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ABS PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,977. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW AND HAVE HAD TO DO BRAKES 4 TIMES. TRAVEL WITH VEHICLE IS MOSTLY LOCAL TO AND FROM WORK AND SCHOOL SPORTING EVENTS FOR THE KIDS. HAD TO REDO THEM IN 6 MONTH PERIOD.
FRONT PASSENGER SEAT SEATBELT LATCH HAS FAILED PREMATURELY. IT NO LONGER LATCHES, PREVENTING THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER FROM BEING PROTECTED.VEHICLE HAS ONLY 124,000 MILES ON IT.
FUEL HAND GOES TO EMPTY, LIGHTS POWER OFF,POWER LOCKS STOP WORKING, A/C CUTS OFF WHILE IN MOTION BUT CAR WILL NOT CUT OFF UNLESS DISCONNECTED FROM BATTERY HAPPENED ON A CITY STREET BUT I DROVE ON THE HIGHWAY AFTERWARDS JUST TO GET IT HOME WILL NOT CRANK FROM PUSH START BUTTON HAVE TO RECONNECT THE BATTERY AND HOLD DOWN A FUSE

I HAVE HAD THE CAR THREE MONTHS AND THE CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP MULTIPLE TIMES HAD THE ENGINE REPLACED AND THE BATTERY AND THE CAR IS DOING IT AGAIN IT WILL NOT START AND I'M AT THE END WITH THIS LEMON OF A CAR
AIR BAG LIGHT KEEPS TURNING ON WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION.
PASSENGER FRONT SEAT HEADREST DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE HEADREST SHOT OPEN STRIKING MY WIFE IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I HAVE READ OTHER ISSUES OTHER PEOPLE HAVE EXPERIENCED SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE A ACCIDENT HAPPENS AND SOMEONE GETS KILLED. I THINK DODGE SHOULD BE RECALLING THESE VEHICLES FOR THESE ISSUES.
MY 2013 DODGE JOURNEY HAS A RANDOM NO START. IT WILL JUST CLICK. THE BATTERY, ALTERNATOR, AND STARTER ARE ALL GOOD. I USUALLY HAVE TO JUMP IT TO GET IT TO START. SOMETIMES THAT DOESN'T EVEN WORK. IT WILL MAKE THE LIGHTS START TO GO HAYWIRE. THEY WILL FLICKER OR FLASH ON AND OFF. IT WILL SAY NO KEY DETECTED WHEN I'M LITERALLY SITTING WITH MY KEY FOB IN HAND. IT IS A PUSH BUTTON START. I HAVE GOT THE BATTERIES REPLACED IN THE KEY FOB AS WELL. THIS WILL HAPPEN AT RANDOM. IT'S HAPPENED IN MY DRIVEWAY WITH A SLIGHT INCLINE SO WE PARKED IT ON THE CURB WHERE IT WAS FLAT TO SEE OF MAYBE THE INCLINE OF THE DRIVEWAY HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT, BUT IT'S DONE IT ON FLAT SURFACES AS WELL. I HAVE TRIED TO LOOK UP REASONS WHY AND HAVE SEEN THIS AS AN ISSUE WITH A LOT OF OTHER JOURNEY OWNERS. THIS STARTED BACK IN THE SPRING AND HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES IN A WEEK THEN IT WILL STOP FOR ALMOST A MONTH AND THE CYCLE WILL START ALL OVER AGAIN.

THE PASSENGER HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN DRIVEWAY. TRIED TO RESET HEADREST AND WHERE THE PIN IS MOUNTED IS BROKE. PIN IS STILL IN LATCH ASSEMBLY AND CANNOT BE RESET. AFTER GOOGLING IT WAS SUGGESTED I SEND A REPORT TO YOU. WE HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE.
AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN MY STREET AT ABOUT 40 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADREST SPONTANEOUSLY DEPLOYED, HITTING ME HARD IN THE BACK OF MY HEAD. I WAS ON A CITY STREET GOING STRAIGHT, AND HAD HIT NO BUMPS.
THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES EXTREMELY SOFT AFTER THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM ENGAGES OR AFTER BRAKING WHEN DRIVING OVER A BUMP/POTHOLE. IT CAN STILL BRAKE, BUT I HAVE TO PRESS THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR, AND THE CAR SLOWS DOWN RATHER THAN STOPPING. IT WILL STAY SOFT A WHILE (15-20 MIN), BUT I FOUND THAT IF I PUMP THEM HARD A FEW TIMES (LIKE WHILE AT A RED LIGHT) IT THEN RETURNS TO NORMAL. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES, MOSTLY RECENTLY 2/28/2019. I'M AFRAID THIS WILL HAPPEN AND RESULT IN ME HAVING AN ACCIDENT OR REAR-ENDING SOMEONE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ARRIGO DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM SAWGRASS (5901 MADISON AVE, TAMARAC, FL 33321) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE MODULE WAS DAMAGED FROM MOISTURE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V675000 (ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) LAST YEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JOEY ACCARDI CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP, RAM (909 S FEDERAL HWY, POMPANO BEACH, FL 33062) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT BE REPAIRED BECAUSE THE PART WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,398.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE POWER STEERING SUDDENLY MALFUNCTIONED AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION. UPON INSPECTION, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE POWER STEERING RETURN HOSE WAS DAMAGED AND CAUSED THE POWER STEERING FLUID TO LEAK FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,000.
COOLANT LEAKAGE WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO OVERHEAT.
THE REAR HATCH WIRES THAT CONNECT TO THE HATCH ARE ALL FRAYED AND OR BROKEN CAUSING SPARKS AND NON FUNCTIONING HATCH LOCK SWITCH, BRAKE LIGHT PROBLEMS, AND DANGEROUS! THE PROBLEM IS DODGE CHEAPER OUT ON THE WIRES THEY USED AND THEY FALL APART AND BREAK ALSO THEY AREN'T LONG ENOUGH. MY OTHER ISSUE IS THE WIPERS ARE NOISY NO MATTER WHAT BRAND USED AND I MEAN REALLY LOUD, LASTLY THE WIPER SPRAY NOZZLE ON BACK DOESN'T SPRAY THE ONE ON THE HOOD BROKE OFF AND THE REAR WIPER DOESN'T WIPE THE WHOLE WINDSHIELD NEITHER DOES THE FRONT WIPERS! THE MAIN ISSUE IS THE CHEAP ELECTRICAL WIRING ON THIS CAR IT EASILY BREAKS OFF AND FALLS APART WITHIN 5 YEARS THE WIRES ARE NO LONGER USEABLE! DODGE NEEDS TO RECALL THE WIRING 100%
MY REAR WINDSHIELD WIPER DIED ON MY 2013 DODGE JOURNEY OVER A YEAR AGO, I WAS TOLD BY DODGE THAT I NEEDED A NEW MOTOR, SO I PURCHASED ONE ON MY OWN, AND IT DIDN'T WORK. SO I RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE TO FIND OUT THAT, IT WAS A WIRING HARNESS THAT WAS CUT FROM REAR DOOR OPENING AND CLOSING I FOUND OUT THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT HAS THE SAME ISSUE THIS ISSUE SHOWED EXPOSED WIRING. EVERY TIME WITCH COULD. CAUSE AN ELECTRICAL FIRE HAZARD PLEASE ADDRESS MY NUMBER IS [XXX] THE PARTS OF THIS DOCUMENT HAVE BEEN REDACTED TO PROTECT PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *CC
TAKARA RECALL THE CAR IS RANDOMLY DRAINING THE BATTERY. THERE IS NOTHING PLUGGED IN NOR LIGHTS LEFT ON. MY CLOCK SEEMS TO GAIN TIME RANDOMLY AS WELL AS MY BLUETOOTH FUNCTION NOT RESPONDING. I CAN DRIVE THE CAR AND THEN PARK IT IN MY HEATED GARAGE GO OUT 30 MINS LATER AND THE BATTERY IS DRAINED. I ALSO REPLACED THE BATTERY WHILE HAVING THE OLD BATTERY TESTED. SAME OCCURANCE. AND OLD BATTERY TESTED FINE AT AUTO ZONE. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE LAST THREE DAYS. THE CAR WILL START ONCE JUMPED.
MY HEAD REST DEPLOYED WHILE I WAS STATIONARY IN THE DRIVE THROUGH LINE AT A FAST FOOD RESTAURANT (LUCKILY, IT DID NOT HIT ME IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD, BECAUSE I HAD LEANED FORWARD TO TALK TO THE RESTAURANT WORKER). AFTER RESEARCHING HOW TO FIX THIS/THE COST OF FIXING THIS, I SEE THAT THIS HAPPENS TO NEARLY EVERY DODGE JOURNEY. I FEEL THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL.

THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START WHEN THE INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED. TRI STAR MOTORS SOMERSET (1260 N CENTERS AVE, SOMERSET, PA 15501) STATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW BATTERY. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE BATTERY, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
MISFIRE, LOSS OF POWER, AND STALLING WHILE IN MOTION AND WHILE IDLING . HAD VEHICLE INSPECTED. CYLINDER #2 HAS A MISFIRE AND THE CYLINDER HEAD NEEDS REPLACED. I WAS INFORMED THAT MY YEAR MAKE AND MODEL WAS INVOLVED IN AN EXTENDED WARRANTLY FROM CHRYSLER TO COVER ALL VEHICLES FITTED WITH THE 3.6 LITER MOTOR FOR THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE. HOWEVER MY PARTICULAR VIN ISN'T SHOWING THAT IT IS COVERED EVEN THOUGH I HAVE THE EXACT SAME MOTOR, YEAR MAKE AND MODEL, AND ISSUES AS THE OTHERS. THIS IS NOT FAIR THAT I AM EXPERIENCE THESE ISSUES BUT THEY REFUSE TO FIX IT BECAUSE MY VIN ISN'T ON THE LIST!!! THIS IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX AND IS DANGEROUS. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND COMPLETELY LOST POWER, I WAS ALMOST HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE WHILE I WAS TRYING TO FIND A PLACE TO GET OFF THE ROAD. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WILL STALL WHEN I AM PULLING OUT , WHICH HAS LEFT ME STALLING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION. THIS IS MY PRIMARY VEHICLE AND I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE IT. THIS IS A DEFECT THAT HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED BY CHRYSLER GROUP AND YET THEY REFUSE TO FIX MY VEHICLE. THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WAS TO COVER THE PENTASTAR V6 3.6 LITER SIX-CYLINDER TO 10 YEARS OR 150,000 MILES WHICH EVER COMES FIRST.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2013 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH AT NIGHT, THE CONTACT DROVE OVER A LARGE TREE BRANCH THAT WAS NOT VISIBLE AT THE TIME. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A TREE THAT WAS LYING IN THE ROAD AND THEN CRASHED INTO A BRICK MAIL BOX. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED, BUT SHE VISITED THE CHIROPRACTOR FOR SORENESS. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT REQUIRED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND TOWED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V432000 (AIR BAGS). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.
TAKATA RECALL, THE AIR BAG LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD INEXPLICABLY TURNED ON AND KEEPS DOING SO INTERMITTENTLY. IT WILL STAY ON, THEN TURN OFF AND REPEAT, WITH A BEEPING SOUND.
TIRE PRESSURE CONTINUES TO DEFLAT DURING WEATHER CHANGE COLD WEATHER CAUSES TIRES TO LOOSE PRESSURE
PROBLEM BEGAN WITH BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR LIGHT COMING ON, SEEMINGLY AT RANDOM. BRAKES STILL SEEMED TO BE WORKING NORMALLY. THEN BRAKES STARTED FAILING TO CATCH WHILE DRIVING. REGARDLESS OF VEHICLE SPEED, 10 MPH OR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, BRAKE PEDAL WOULD GO ALMOST TO FLOOR AND YOU WOULD HAVE TO PUMP IT SEVERAL TIMES TO GET THE BRAKE TO ENGAGE. TOOK IT IN TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC AND FOUND THAT FLUID WAS LEAKING INTO DRIVER'S SIDE INTERIOR, DIAGNOSED A FAULTY MASTER CYLINDER AND BOOSTER. TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP. THEY SERVICED ALL OUTSTANDING RECALLS. THEY REPLACED MASTER CYLINDER AND BOOSTER AT A COST OF $982 TO US. BRAKES WORKED FINE FOR THREE WEEKS THEN PROBLEM STARTED HAPPENING AGAIN BUT THIS TIME BRAKE WARNING LIGHT IS NOT ILLUMINATED. JUST AS BEFORE, SOMETIMES THE BRAKES WORK NORMALLY, OTHER TIMES THE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR AND YOU HAVE TO PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL UNTIL IT 'CATCHES'. TAKING IT BACK IN TO DEALER - THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM, NOT KNOWING IF THE CAR IS GOING TO STOP OR NOT. JUDGING BY THE NUMBER OF REPORTS FROM MOTORISTS AND MECHANICS ON VARIOUS WEBSITES, THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A KNOWN ISSUE WITH 2013 DODGE JOURNEY VEHICLES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE DEALER (DESERT AUTOMOTIVES, 4119 E ANDERSON RD, SIERRA VISTA, AZ 85650, (520) 803-8300) WAS CONTACTED AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 68,000.
THE HEADRESTS ON BOTH FRONT SEATS POPPED OPEN. THE PASSENGER SEAT OPENED WHEN THE PASSENGER STRETCHED AND TOUCHED THE BACK OF THE HEADREST. THIS WAS DURING A TRIP, MAYBE IN 2015. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY. WE TOOK IT TO A DEALER TO RESET THE HEADREST AND WERE TOLD IT COULD NOT BE RESET AND WOULD COST IVER $600 TO FIX IT. IT IS UNKNOWN HOW THE DRIVER HEADREST OPENED. WE ATTEMPTED TO RESET IT, BUT IT WILL NOT STAT IN THE LPCKED POSITION. NEITHER INSTANCE WAS CAUSED BY AN ACCIDENT.
CYLINDER 2 MISFIRE - ENGINE LOCK SUDDENLY AS VALVE WAS NOT INSTALLED PROPERLY AT TIME OF MANUFACTURING. THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT IN THIS MAKE OF DODGE. MY CAR IS NOT INCLUDED PER THE DEALER AND SHOULD BE. THE VALVE IS FAULTY. CAUSING BURNT VALVE AND WARPED HEAD. *EXTREMELY COSTLY REPAIR THAT WAS UNAVOIDABLE WITH RECOMMENDED REGULAR MAINTENANCE ON MY VEHICLE! DEALER WILL NOT REPAIR. MANUFACTURER HAS NOT INCLUDED MY VIN IN RECALL.
BRAKES AREN'T CATCHING AT TIMES ALMOST HAVE SEVERAL ACCIDENTS ON THE HIGHWAY AND CITY STREETS WHEN I STEP ON BRAKES I HAVE TO KEEP PUMPING THEM TO STOP .. THEN WHEN I TRY START CAR IT SAYS KEY AREN'T LOCATED EVEN WHILE DRIVING

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH NAPLETONS RIVER OAKS CHRYSLER/DODGE (17225 TORRENCE AVENUE, LANSING, IL 60438). I WAS DRIVING MY CAR THROUGH TOWN(35MPH) WHEN IT JUST SHUT OFF. I DIDN'T HAVE POWER STEERING OR BRAKES. NO ALERT LIGHTS COME ON. I MANAGED TO PULL INTO A GAS STATION, PUT IT IN PARK THEN IT RESTARTED AFTER I PUSHED THE BUTTON. I DID CHAT WITH CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID NO RECALLS OR ISSUES SHOWED UP FOR MY CAR. IF I HAD BEEN GOING FASTER ON THE HIGHWAY OR EVEN ON OUR CURVY BACKROADS I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR EVEN KILLED! I DRIVE MY CHILDREN IN THIS CAR AND I'M SCARED TO DEATH TO GET BACK IN IT. I'M STILL PAYING ON NB THIS CAR AND IT'S A DEATHTRAP!
I WAS SITTING WITH MY CAR ON, IN PARK IN THE PARKING LOT WHEN MY DRIVER SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED. I DIDN'T GET IN AN ACCIDENT, THE HEADREST WASN'T EVEN BEING TOUCHED. IT SUDDENLY DEPLOYED AND LUCKILY I WAS LEANING FORWARD SO IT DIDN'T HIT ME. IT LOOKS LIKE SOMETHING INSIDE OF IT BROKE.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 36,000. *TT CONSUMER STATED SHE WENT TO PICKED UP HER CAR, SHE WAS CHARGED $766.00 AND RECALL WAS NOT DONE. CAR IS STILL DOING WHAT CONSUMER BROUGHT IT IN FOR. TAKATA RECALL SOMETIMES MY VEHICLE WILL NOT STAR,T BASICALLY EVERY WEEK. I CANNOT PUSH THE PEDAL DOWN NOTHING LIGHTS UP THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL NOT STOP GOING OFF AIRBAG LIGHT, ENGINE, AND TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR ALL COME ON. IF CAR DOES START THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL CONTINUE AS WELL AS LIGHTS THEN GAS GUNGE WILL GO TO ZERO, CRUISE CONTROL SHUTS OFF AND BLINKERS WILL NOT WORK, ALL HAPPENS SIMULTANEOUSLY WHILE DRIVING MAKING IT VERY DANGEROUS. I HAVE FOUND MANY PEOPLE WITH THIS ISSUE YET NO CLEAR FIX. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND OUT RIGHT RIDICULOUS THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS SAFETY ISSUE. THESE ISSUES HAPPEN WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN DRIVEWAY AND HAS HAPPENED ON HIGHWAY. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE HAVING MY CHILDREN IN THIS CAR.

2013 DODGE JOURNEY HAS TRANSMISSION SHIFTING PROBLEMS FROM A STOP TO A START. THE JOURNEY WAS TAKEN TO OUR LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. THEY TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND SAID THE TRANSMISSION WAS OVERFILLED. THEY DRAINED SOME FLUID OUT AND TEST DROVE. MY RECEIPT FOR THE VEHICLE STATES AT THE BOTTOM FOUND FLASH THAT HAD AN UPDATE FOR PPM WHICH WAS DIRECTLY RELATED TO SHIFTING ISSUES. RAN PPM UPDATE AND PERFORMED A QUICK LEARN ON TRANSMI7 SSION WHICH SET ALL SETTINGS BACK TO DEFAULT ON TRANSMISSION. I WILL BE TAKING THE VEHICLE BACK TO CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AGAIN TRANSMISSION SLIPS STILL ABOUT 4 TOO 8 SECONDS BETWEEN 1ST AND SECOND GEAR. SOMETIMES WHEN I AM ON A STEEP HILL IT MIGHT ROLL BACKWARDS IF THEIR ISN'T ENOUGH SPEED FROM TRANSMISSION SLIP. THIS VEHICLE CAN CAUSE A ACCIDENT THEIR IS A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION ON THIS VEHICLE.

THE ACTIVE HEADREST HAS FAILED. I INITIALLY THOUGHT IT WAS DEPLOYED, BUT AFTER ATTEMPTING TO RESET THE UNIT, I NOTICED THE SILVER PIN THAT WAS DESIGNED TO HOLD THE HEADREST IN POSITION WAS LOOSE. THE SMALL PIECES OF PLASTIC THAT HELD THIS IN PLACE HAVE COMPLETELY BROKEN LOOSE, THUS DEPLOYING THE HEADREST. CLOSING THIS BACK INTO POSITION IS NOW IMPOSSIBLE. I CONSIDERED ORDERING A REPLACEMENT PART, BUT WHY SHOULD I BUY SOMETHING THAT IS LIKELY TO FAIL? I CALLED THE DEALER TO SEE WHAT THEY WOULD CHARGE TO FIX THIS FOR ME, AFTER BEING QUOTED $192 IN LABOR, I DECIDED THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE HELPING ME WITH THIS. I'M GLAD THIS DID NOT SLAP ME IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THIS COULD VERY WELL KNOCK A DRIVER UNCONSCIOUS, OR CAUSE HIM OR HER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. IT IS MY OPINION THIS NEEDS TO BE EXAMINED BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED, OR DO WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR THAT TO HAPPEN BEFORE A RECALL IS ISSUED? MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. I FOUND THE HEADREST OPEN WHEN I OPENED THE DOOR TO GO TO WORK. I WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO DISCUSS THIS FURTHER. FOR OVER 2 YEARS I'VE TRIED VARIOUS THINGS TO GET MY REVERSE LIGHTS TO WORK. CHECKED FUSES, CHECKED THE BULBS. ONE DAY MY REVERSE LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING, MY HATCH STOPPED LOCKING AND UNLOCKING WHILE ALL OTHER DOORS COMPLIED. AND SOME OF MY BRAKE LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING. AFTER VIGOROUSLY YOUTUBING, I FOUND A VIDEO ON CHANGING THE LIFTGATE WIRING. WHERE I FOUND MY ISSUE. THIS IS A SERIOUS FIRE HAZARD!! WHEN I REMOVED THE WIRING HARNESS, 4 OF MY WIRES LOOKED AS THOUGH THEY HAD BEEN CUT. NO WONDER THINGS WEREN'T WORKING.. AFTER USING ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS AND ELECTRICAL TAPE MY REVERSE LIGHTS ARE NOW FIXED. HOWEVER, KNOWING I COULD'VE DIED IN A CAR FIRE JUST DOESN'T SIT WELL FOR ME AND MY CHILDREN.

WE HAVE OWNED OUR JOURNEY FOR THREE YEARS. STARTING LAST YEAR WE HAVE HAD A SIGNIFICANT ELECTRICAL ISSUE THAT NO ONE CAN FIX. IN ORDER TO UNLOCK OUR DOORS, ONE HAS TO PRESS UNLOCK AN UPWARD OF 5 TIMES. THIS HAS BECOME AN EVERYDAY OCCURRENCE AND POSES A THREAT TO SAFETY IF WE EVER GET IN AN ACCIDENT. DURING THESE EVENTS THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY. WE HAVE NOTICED THAT THE CLOCK IN THE JOURNEY WILL EITHER GAIN TIME OR LOOSE IT, WITHOUT US EVEN TOUCHING IT OVER THE COURSE OF A WEEK OR MORE AT A TIME, WE'VE GIVEN UP ON SETTING IT AT ALL. AGAIN, THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY. ONE IN EVERY FOUR TIMES ENTERING THE JOURNEY, OUR MAIN DOME LIGHT (AROUND THE SECOND ROW OF SEATS) WILL BE ILLUMINATED WITHOUT ANY INTERACTION FROM US AND ITS NORMALLY ON FOR HOURS AT A TIME. STATIONARY IN OUR DRIVEWAY OR IN A PARKING LOT. FINALLY, OUR REAR WINDSHIELD WIPER SEEMS TO HAVE A SHORT OR SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT. SOME DAYS IT WORKS PERFECTLY FINE AND OTHER DAYS WE ARE UNABLE TO TURN IT ON TO USE IT. I OFTEN GO OUT TO THE CAR AND NOTICE THE WIPER IS HALF DONE WIPING THE WINDOW AND STUCK THERE. RECENTLY IF YOU HIT A BUMP, THE REAR WINDSHIELD WIPER WOULD GO OFF AND WIPE THE GLASS WITHOUT OUR INTERACTION. ALL OF THIS HAPPENS WHILE STATIONARY OR WHILE DRIVING. ALSO JUST RECENTLY ITS NOTICED BY MY WIFE THAT THE JOURNEY SOMETIMES LOCKS IF WE SHUT THE DOOR WHILE WARMING IT UP. SHE MENTIONED THAT SOMETIMES WHEN LOCKING THE CAR IT WOULD HONK MORE THAN ONCE OR SOMETIMES THE KEY FOB WASN'T OPERATIONAL (LEADING TO US OPENING UP THE KEY FOB, MAKING SURE THE BATTERY WAS SEATED PROPERLY AND CLOSING IT BACK UP) THIS IS WHILE STATIONARY. THE DATE I HAVE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS ISN'T THE DATE OF THE OCCURRENCE BECAUSE THIS HAS ALL TAKEN PLACE OVER THE PAST YEAR TO A LITTLE LONGER THAN A YEAR. WE'VE TAKEN IT TO MORE THAN ONE REPAIR SHOP TO NO AVAIL.
I APPLIED MY BRAKES AND THEY BECAME SPONGY THEN SHORTLY AFTER THAT THE BRAKES ALMOST WOULD NOT STOP. VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE BRAKES BEGAN TO BOTTOM OUT EVEN WHEN APPLIED WHILE IN PARK. THERE IS NO LOSS OF BRAKE FLUID IN MASTER CYLINDER. SUSPECT ABS SYSTEM. THERE WAS A RECALL TO FIX ABS FAILURE THAT THE DEALER DID.
BLEW ANOTHER (NHTSA ID INCIDENT NUMBER: 11061972) POWER STEERING HOSE THIS MORNING, SIX WEEKS AFTER GETTING IT FIXED ON 1/08/2018 IN THE NORTHWESTERN MINNESOTA. COLD WEATHER. RELATED TO RECALL RECALL #16V-273. IT WAS RUNNING STATIONARY, JUST WARMING UP TO LEAVE FOR THE MORNING.
