I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET. AFTER GOING OVER A SMALL BUMP ON THE STREET, THE ABS WARNING LIGHT AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE WARNING WENT OFF TEMPORARILY, BUT WHEN I STARTED TO DRIVE AGAIN, THERE WAS A SMALL SKID AND WARNING LIGHTS CAME BACK ON. THERE IS MORE "PLAY" WHEN I BRAKE, BUT I WAS ABLE TO COME TO A STOP.THE WARNING LIGHTS HAVE REMAINED ON. WE HAVE BEEN HAVING A LOT OF RAIN WHERE I LIVE. I HAVE SEEN REPORTS OF OTHER PEOPLE HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH MY MODEL OF CAR. REASON : UNKNOWN.
WHILE DRIVING 20MPH AND A FLAT STRAIGHT ROAD, THE DRIVER SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED WITHOUT BEING IN AN ACCIDENT AND HIT MY WIFE IN THE HEAD.
HEADREST DEPLOYING RANDOMLY. NO ACCIDENT. COMMAND OUT TO CAR ONE DAY AND HEADREST WAS DEPLOYED. AFTER RESEARCH AND LOOKING HEADREST PLASTIC CLIP HAVE FAILED AND CAUSED HEADREST TO DEPLOY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE COMPUTER SYSTEM WAS FAILING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PAUL SHERRY CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (937-778-0830, LOCATED AT 8645 N COUNTY ROAD 25A, PIQUA, OH 45356) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED AND REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY. IN ADDITION, THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS WAS CORRODED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT A RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED IN 2018 PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V675000 (ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT A PORTION OF THE WIRING HARNESS MAY BE REPAIRED FREE OF CHARGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BATTERY FAILED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER WHERE THE BATTERY WAS TESTED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO ISSUES FOUND WITH THE BATTERY. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO HIS RESIDENCE AND TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND THE BATTERY FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT CALLED AAA AND THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000.*DT CONSUMER STATED CAR STALLS AT STOP WITHIN THE FIRST 7 MILES EVERY WEEK. EVEN AFTER IT WAS REPAIRED OIL COOLER/OIL FILL TUBE CONSTANTLY LEAKS. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THERMOSTAT COMES ON. *JB
ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT DEPLOYED WHILE THE CAR WAS STATIONARY. UPON INVESTIGATION, SMALL CLIPS WITHIN THE HEADREST SNAPPED, CAUSING THE HEADREST TO DEPLOY, EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NO COLLISION TO THE VEHICLE, SHOOTING TOWARD THE PASSENGER'S HEAD
I WAS COMING TO STOP SIGN AND APPLIED BRAKES. I HAD TO PUSH THEM ALL THE WAY DOWN FOR THE CAR EVENTUALLY STOP AFTER THE STOP SIGN. I PUMPED THE BRAKES A FEW TIMES AND THEN THEY WORKED FINE. A FEW WEEKS LATER I WAS COMING TO A STOP AGAIN AND I HAD TO PUSH BRAKES ALL THE WAY DOWN. I STOPPED AGAIN PAST THE STOP SIGN. I PUMPED THE BRAKES AND THEY WORKED AGAIN. IT HAPPEN TWO MORE TIME WEEKS APART BUT THE LAST TIME I PUMPED THE BRAKES AND HIT THE GAS THEN BRAKES AND THEY WORKED. I DROVE ABOUT HALF A BLOCK TRIED TO STOP AND BRAKES HAD TO BE PUSHED ALL THE WAY DOWN. I PUMPED THEM AGAIN AND WENT FORWARD HIT THE BRAKES AND THEY WORKED. I WENT FORWARD SLOWLY FOR ABOUT HALF A MILE AND WHEN I TRIED SLOW LITTLE TO TURN BRAKES WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I PARKED AND CALLED TOW TRUCK. I TOOK THE CAR TO DODGE AFTER 2ND INCIDENT AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. AFTER 4TH INCIDENT I TOOK IT TO SOMEONE DIFFERENT AND THE COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THEY RECOMMENDED NOT DRIVING IT ANYMORE FOR SAFETY. I AM LUCKY IT ALWAYS HAPPENED AFTER I GOT OFF THE INTERSTATE AND DID NOT HURT ANYONE OR MYSELF.
THIS ISSUE WITH THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ME, SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM DEALERSHIP LAST YEAR 2019. HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES. I CAN DRIVE AND THE CAR STALLS, LOSES IT POWER TO DRIVE, CAR SHAKES WITH ACCELERATION. HAD TO HAVE THE DEALER CLEAR CODE ONCE IN JULY 2019, SO DIDNT HAVE THE CAR FOR 6 MONTHS YET. THEN IT HAPPENED EARLIER THIS YEAR AND THEN IT HAPPENED JULY 2020. EVERYTIME THIS GOES BAD I TAKE IT IN AND THEY RESET THE SENSOR..I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE ESPECIALLY WITH IT REOCCURRING AND I HAVE TWO LITTLE CHILDREN K DRIVE AROUND. IT HAPPENS OUT OF NOWHERE AND ITS MY FIRST NEW CAR AND THOS IS A SAFTEY HABIT. IM AFRAID TO TRAVEL TO SEE FAMILY ON THE EAST COAST. THE THUNDERBOLT LIGHT WILL START FLASHES AND CAR LOSES ITS ACCELERATION. THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL. THE TRACTION TIRE LIGHT ALSO TURNS OFF. CAR DOES NOT GAIN ACCELERATION AND SHAKES. THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH MY DODGE AND OTHWR REVIEWS.
MY CRUISE CONTROL QUIT WORKING AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON AND IT WOULDN'T TURN OFF. THE DOORS STARTED LOCKING AND UNLOCKING BY THEMSELVES. I WENT TO CHURCH AND STOPPED AT FOOD CITY AFTERWARDS. I STARTED THE VEHICLE AND PUT IT IN REVERSE AND I CAN SMELL SOMETHING WEIRD AND IT WAS LIKE THE BRAKE WAS STUCK AND IT WAS HOLDING BACK. I PROCEEDED BECAUSE I WAS IN TRAFFIC AND NEEDED TO MOVE. ACCELERATION WAS LIMITED BUT I MADE IT HOME WHICH WAS LESS THAN A MILE. WHEN STOPPED THERE WAS SMOKE ROLLING OUT FROM UNDER THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AREA AND THERE WAS FLUIDS RUNNING ALL OVER THE GROUND. THIS WAS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION BECAUSE I HAD MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. THERE IS A SCRUBBING AND PECKING NOISE BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE IT'S COMING FROM THE REAR END. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON BUT IT'S BEEN ON. I'VE HAD IT CHECKED AND SHOWS NOTHING WRONG AND HAD IT TURNED OFF AND IT CONTINUES TO COME ON. ALTERNATOR HAS BEEN REPLACED AS WELL AS NEW BATTERY. IT SEEMS TO HAVE ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THE DOORS LOCKING AND UNLOCKING. SO DANGEROUS! AFFECTS STEERING AND CONTROL OF VEHICLE AND COULD CAUSE A FIRE AND NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER SEEING ALL OF THE REVIEWS AND PROBLEMS WITH THESE VEHICLES THEY ALL NEED TO BE RECALLED BECAUSE NONE OF THEM ARE SAFE BECAUSE IT'S OBVIOUS THAT THE DEALERSHIPS DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO FIX THEM. IF THEY ATTEMPT ONE ISSUE THERE ARE EVEN MORE ISSUES THAT OCCUR. THE REPAIRS ARE COSTLY AND THIS IS HAPPENING WAY TOO OFTEN WITH TOO MANY JOURNEYS. THEN WE ARE STUCK WITH A LEMON TO PAY FOR AND NO VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THESE COSTLY REPAIRS ALONG WITH THE DANGERS IMPOSED. PLEASE RECALL THESE DANGEROUS AND REPAIR COSTLY VEHICLES! THEY DON'T NEED TO BE ON THE ROADS. PROBLEMS STARTED NOT LONG AFTER PURCHASE BUT THEY HAVE ESCALATED AND HAVE GOTTEN MORE SERIOUS, DANGEROUS, AND COSTLY.
I WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVE THRU WHEN MY SON AND I HEARD A POP NOISE THAN HE SAID THAT HURT HIS HEAD. THE HEADREST JUST POPPED OUT FOR NO REASON. I DON'T KNOW WHY THIS HAPPEN BUT IT SHOULDN'T HAVE HAPPEN.
CAR SHUTS OFF AT SPEED HAS LIGHT ON ON DASH NOT SURE WHAT IT IS
I WENT INTO MY CHURCH FOR ABOUT 2 HOURS AND CAME BACK OUT AND STARTED THE CAR TO LET IT COOL DOWN FOR MY KIDS. AS IT SAT IDLING ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, MY ETC LIGHT IS FLASHING, AND MY ESC OFF LIGHT IS ON. SHUT IT OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. STARTED DRIVING AND THE ETC LIGHT STARTED FLASHING AND ESC OFF LIGHT CAME ON. MY CAR SLOWED DOWN FROM 60MPH ON THE HIGHWAY AND I COULDN'T SPEED BACK UP. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND TURN CAR OFF AND BACK ON 3 TIMES TO MAKE IT BACK HOME. TO MAKE IT HOME I HAD TO PUT CRUISE CONTROL ON AND HOPE I DIDN'T GET BEHIND SOMEONE GOING SLOWER THAN ME BECAUSE ALL THE LIGHTS WOULD COME BACK ON.
REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE'S TREAD JUST PEELED UP AND PULLED OFF THE UNDER SKIRT, PULLED PART OF BACK BUMPER LOOSE. PULLED OFF THE PLASTIC UP IN SIDE THE WHEEL CARRIAGE AND ALSO BUSTED MY GAS LINE. I WAS DRIVING ON A STRAIGHT ROAD AND IT JUST HAPPENED. I DIDN'T RUN OVER OR HIT ANYTHING.
DRIVING ALONE A CITY STREET AND PULLED INTO A SHOP AND THE CAR HAD A CLOUD OF SMOKE, AS I WAS PARKING, THEN NOTICED FLUID RUNNING FROM UNDERNEATH. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HAD HAPPEN. A REFUND FOR REPAIRS ON THIS VEHICLE WOULD HELP. AND EFFORT TO SOMEONE LETTING ME KNOW WHY THIS HAPPENED , IS THE QUESTION

THIS WAS ON TULANE BOTH WAY STREETS IN THE CITY WHEN TESTING CONTROL HAT EASILY A HUNDRED TO TWO HUNDRED YARDS LENGTH BETWEEN CAR IN FRONT OF ME BUT QUICKLY KEPT UP WITH THEM AND HAD TO MANEUVER BETWEEN A BOSS AND LARGE SUV JUST MADE IT THROUGH THE HOLE ON THE CAR IN FRONT OF US INSTEAD OF REAR-ENDING IT CLIPPING MIRROR IN REAR END OF CAR THAT'S WHEN THE OPENING WITH NOTHING IN FRONT OF ME PANIC STOPS AND SMACKED INTO NEUTRAL
DASHBOARD LIGHTS, CABIN LIGHTS AND RADIO CONSTANTLY GOING OFF AND ON WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAPPENS WHILE HIGHWAY DRIVING AND ON THE STREET.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED THAT OIL WAS LEAKING UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COURTESY CHRYSLER DODGE RAM OF SUPERSTITION SPRINGS (6130 E AUTO PARK DR, MESA, AZ 85206, (480) 569-2986) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LEFT CYLINDER HEAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
PURCHASED MY 2014 DODGE JOURNEY IN FEBURARY 2019. BEFORE HAVING COUPLE RECALLS DONE ON MY I HAD NO LIGHTS ON MY DASH BOARD EVER SINCE PURCHASED MY CAR. THEN I HAD RECALL T47 DONE ON MY CAR IN APRIL 2019 THERE BEGINS TO START RANDOMLY FLASHING THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT LIGHT ON MY DASHBOARD. COULD BE IN PARK OR IN GEAR THE LIGHT WILL APPEAR AND STAY ALL AT RANDOM. CONTACTED DEALERSHIP TO SCHEDULE AN ADDITIONAL RECALL AND INFORMED THEM OF THIS AIRBAG LIGHTING ISSUE. WAS TOLD THAT IT CAUSED FROM MY SEATBELT WIRING. IF THAT WAS THE CASE THEN THE LIGHT WOULD HAVE CAME ON BEFORE EVER HAVING ANY RECALLS DONE MORE SPECIFICALLY THE T47 RECALL FOR EXACTLY THAT ISSUE WITH THE AIRBAG WIRING. THEN THE GUY ATTEMPTS TO PROVIDE ME WITH A QUOTE ON HOW MUCH THEY WERE GOING TO TRY AND CHARGE ME TO HAVE IT FIXED !! I DONT KNOW WHAT YOU WOULD CALL THIS BUT I KNOW IT CAN NOT BE LEGAL !! PLEASE INVESTIGATE AND HELP STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING TO ANYONE ELSE WHO USES THIS DEALERSHIP !!!
DRIVER SEAT ACTIVE HEADREST RESTRAINT DEPLOYED WITHOUT CAUSE WHILE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN GARAGE. THIS WAS CAUSED BY THE PLASTIC RETAINING PIN BRACKETS BREAKING.
SINCE OWNING THE VEHICLE, BOUGHT BRAND NEW, EVERY SO OFTEN WHILE DRIVING THE RADIO AND ALL THE LIGHTS WOULD TURN OFF AND THEN COME BACK ON. RECENTLY WHEN DRIVING MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. AT THAT POINT IT WAS A FRIDAY NIGHT MY MECHANIC WAS ALREADY CLOSED SO WHEN HE OPENED BACK UP ON TUESDAY I CALLED TO BRING THE CAR IN AND ON MY WAY THERE THE CAR STARTED MAKING A HORRIBLE NOISE. WHILE DRIVING DOWN A BUSY ROAD I FELT THE ACCELERATION GIVE AND I COULD NOT GET IT TO ACCELERATE SO I STARTED TO MAKE WAY OFF THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE ENGINE JUST DIED. HAD IT TOWED TO MY MECHANIC WHERE HE CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHY IT DIED. THERE WAS NO WATER, ALL THE FLUID LEVELS WERE PERFECT. HE WAS BAFFLED AS TO HOW THE ENGINE COULD JUST DIE. HE SAID HE HAS NEVER SEEN THIS HAPPEN FOR NO REASON. FINALLY FOUND AN ENGINE TO REPLACE IT A MONTH LATER, BUT THAT ENGINE HAS 96,000 MILES ON IT.
SINCE THE STEERING WHEEL RECALL WAS FIXED. MY AC CONTROLS NOW TURN THERESELVES ON AND OFF AS WELL AS MY RADIO WHEN EVER. ITS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE. DODGE STATES THEY FIXED THE ISSED. I CONTINUE TO SMELL BURNING PLASTIC.
I'VE HAD MY THROTTLE BODY FAIL TWICE IN 8 MONTHS. BOTH WHILE DRIVING, IT CAUSES THE CAR TO NOT BE ABLE TO ACCELERATE. ALMOST WAS IN A HORRIBLE ACCIDENT.
ABOUT THREE WEEKS AGO, THE ABS AND CHECK LIGHT CAME ON, I RESEARCHED RECALLS AND TOOK CAR TO SCHLOSSMANN'S DODGE CITY. I WAS ADVISED THAT DUE TO WEATHER AND WATER LEAKING INTO WIRE HARNESS THAT IT WAS CORRODED. IN WHICH THIS IS THE BASIS OF THE R61 RECALL. HOWEVER, SINCE MY ISSUE IS WITH LEFT WHEEL SENSOR AND NOT THE FRONT RIGHT, IT IS NOT COVERED. I AM WONDERING WHAT THE DIFFERENCE IS - IF THE RESULT AND CAUSE IS THE SAME - WHY WOULD IT NOT BE COVERED? I HAVE ALSO NOTICED THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL NO LONGER WORKS - IS THIS RELATED?
THE VEHICLE DIED AFTER 4 YEARS A NEW BATTERY WAS PUT IN AND FOR THE NEXT 17 MONTHS THE CAR HAS DIED 7 TIMES AND SECOND BATTERY WAS PUT IN. THERE IS A POWER DRAIN WHICH THE DEALER CANNOT LOCATE. THERE IS NEVER AN INDICATION WHILE DRIVING OF LOSING POWER, HOWEVER, IF THE VEHICLE SITS FOR MORE THAN 5 DAYS IT DIES AND MUST BE JUMP STARTED.
WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE IT SHUTS OFF WHILE IN MOTION. THE FRONT AND REAR WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURN ON AND OFF BY THEMSELVES AS WELL AS THE LIGHTS. IT THROWS MULTIPLE CODES THEN EVERYTHING GOES BACK TO NORMAL. IT HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS TURNING INTO AN OUT OF CONTROL VEHICLE. IT IS A SAFETY HAZZARD TO ALL MOTORISTS.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGH WAY OUR CAR SHUT OFF, MY HUSBAND COULDN'T BREAK OR STEER IT TOOK ABOUT 45 SECONDS TO TURN BACK ON. IT HAS DONE THIS ABOUT TEN TIMES SINCE, WE HAVE HAD IT LOOKED AT AND NO CODES HAVE BEEN OFF. IT HAS ALSO TURNED ON WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND LIGHTS ALL RANDOMLY AND LOCKED AND UNLOCKED ALL ON ITS OWN. WE HAVE THREE CHILDREN AND THIS IS OUR ONLY CAR. TO SAY WERE TERRIFIED IS A UNDERSTATEMENT WE LIVE IN THE CITY, WE ARE ONCE AGAIN HAVING IT LOOKED AT AGAIN IN HOPES SOMEONE CAN FIX IT AFTER LEARNING ITS ACTUALLY HAPPENED TO A LOT OF PEOPLE.
ON 03/24/19 WE WERE MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN WHEN THE WHOLE CAR SHUDDER AND A LOUD SOUND WAS MADE. WE GOT OUT TO INVESTIGATE AND BURNING OIL COULD BE SMELLED. THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO FIRESTONE AUTO CARECENTER. THE BUT IT UP ON THE LIFT. THE TRANSMISSION HOUSING SNAPPED AT THE BOLTS AND DRIVE SHAFT SNAPPED. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 60,000 MILES ON IT. THE DRIVE TRAIN WARRANTY EXPIRED JANUARY 2019. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED CERTIFIED USED
THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER HAS BEEN REPLACED 2 TIMES IN LESS THAN 7 MONTHS BECAUSE IT KEEPS BURNING UP. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THE 2014 DODGE JOURNEY BECAUSE THIS IS NOT A CHEAP FIX!!!
THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT IS ON. HAVE TO TAKE IT TO A DEALER TO FIND OUT WHAT'S WRONG. ALSO THE OIL FILTER MANIFOLD CRACKED AND LEAKED OIL. HAD TO GET IT REPLACED.
LIKE OTHERS ON THIS SITE, I EXPERIENCED A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT INDICATING A MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 3. I HAD THE VEHICLE REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY AT CHAMPION DODGE IN INDIANAPOLIS, IN. THE SHOP STATED THEY REPLACED THE ENTIRE CYLINDER HEAD DUE TO A LEAKING VALVE. UPON RETRIEVING THE REPAIRED VEHICLE, THE SAME ISSUE IMMEDIATELY AROSE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE SHOP AND THE SHOP IS NOW SURMISING THEY RECEIVED A DEFECTIVE PART. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRED TWICE WITHIN A DAY DUE TO A DEFECTIVE REPLACEMENT PART. EITHER THE SHOP DID NOT REPLACE THE PART, OR CHRYSLER HAS A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THEIR CYLINDER HEADS. THIS ISSUE APPEARS TO BE COMMON, WAS RECOGNIZED BY CHRYSLER ON THE 2011-2013 MODELS, BUT IS NOW AN ISSUE WITH MY 2014 MODEL. I HAVE CONTACTED A CUSTOMER CARE REPRESENTATIVE AT CHRYSLER WHO MADE ONE ATTEMPT TO CALL AND IS NEVER AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT HEARD LOUD, ABNORMAL NOISES COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. SMOLICH MOTORS (1865 NE HWY 20, BEND, OR 97701, (541) 389-1177) DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAMSHAFT AND LIFTERS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY CARS HEADRESTS RATTLE AND MOVE LOOSELY IN POSITION. THERE ARE ALSO NO RUBBER SUPPORT PIECES AROUND THE INCERT/ADJUSTMENT BEAMS TO SECURE THE HEADREST IN PLACE PROPERLY.
THE WIRING HARNESS AT THE HATCH AREA IS BREAKING CAUSING THE REAR LIGHTS TO FAIL.
CAR CONSTANTLY LOCKS IT SELF EVEN WITH THE KEYS IN IT. WITH CAR ON OR OFF OR WHILE DRIVING YOU HEAR IT CONSTANTLY LOCKING
APPEARS THAT THE GASKET BETWEEN THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION IS LEAKING OIL. THIS VEHICLE IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD. I STILL OWE ALOT OF MONEY ON THIS VEHICLE AND HAVE CHANGED THE OIL ON A REGULAR BASIS. NOW THIS !!!! NOT RIGHT !!!!
Vehicle just won’t start sometimes. Changed battery , alternator, starter, ETC system. And nothing has helped. No rhyme or reason some days it starts perfectly fine multiple times .. other days I’ll go out and it just won’t start. I can go to my destination turn it off and it won’t turn back on.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY I'VE NOTICE WHIT SMOKE COMING OUT OF MY ENGINE. I PULLED OVER AND FOUND THAT THE HEATER HOSE FITTING BROKE OFF CAUSING COOLANT TO LEAK.
ENGINE LIGHT ON: THE ISSUE IS A DESIGN FLAW IN THE HEAD AND CYLINDERS OF THE 2014 V6 ENGINE OF THE DODGE JOURNEY 2014. THE FLAW ALLOWS BURNING FUEL VAPOR TO ESCAPE AND CAUSE BURNING AND CARBON AROUND THE CYLINDER HEAD. THE HAZARD HERE IS THE CONTINUED DISINTEGRATION AND CARBON DAMAGE CAN CAUSE THE ENGINE TO LOCK UP WHILE DRIVING.
THERE'S A FEW RECALLS ON MY 2014 DODGE JOURNEY AWD SXT THAT I'VE CALLED AND THEY SAID THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS AND TO CALL BACK IN A FEW MONTHS. I JUST CALLED NOW AND THEY GAVE ME THE LOOP AROUND TRANSFERRING ME TO THE FRONT THEN BACK TO SERVICE WHERE I WAS PLACED ON HOLD AND THEN IT RANG TO THE FRONT DESKS NUMBER AND I HAD TO LEAVE A VOICEMAIL. THE REAR WINDOW DEFROST DASH CONTROL KEEPS BLINKING AND WITH THAT I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THE HVAC SYSTEM. IT IS CONSTANTLY ON LOW '1' BLOW POWER AND IT ISN'T ONLY BLOWING COLD. IN THE NORTH EAST IN WINTER (TODAY WAS 6 DEGREES AND THA KSFIVING DAY WHERE ALL AUTO SHOPS ARE CLOSED) IT IS NOT SAFE. THERE IS A CRUNCHING SOUND IN THE DASH, AS THOUGH SOMETHING IS TRYING TO TURN. ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS ISSUE?
AT FIRST, WHEN I STARTED THE CAR, IT HAD TROUBLE TURNING ON, SO I WAITED A WHILE TO TRY AGAIN AND IT DID. WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT SMELLED LIKE SOMETHING WAS BURNING AND I NOTICED THAT BOTH THE ABS AND BRAKE LIGHT WHEN OFF. I PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND TURNED OFF THE CAR. I GO TO TURN IT ON AGAIN AND IT JUST DIDN'T AFTER THAT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V432000 (AIR BAGS). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
FAULTY ALTERNATOR
THE VEHICLE WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT. MY DAUGHTER WAS SITTING BEHIND ME. WHICH I WAS THE DRIVER AND SHE WAS BEHIND ME ON THE LEFT REAR. MY DAUGHTER HAD THE SEAT BELT ON AND SO DID I. MY CONCERN IS WHY DID MY DAUGHTER ENDED UP GOING ALL THE WAY FORWARD HITTING ME FROM BEHIND WITH HER KNEES THAT THE NEXT DAY MY BEHIND WAS HURTING G. WILL MY DAUGHTER ON THE MEAN TIME DURING THE ACCIDENT HER HEAD HURTLED, NOSE, AND UPPER AND LOWER BACK. IT SEEMS THE SEAT BELT DID NOT LOCK AS SOON AS THE IMPACT BECAUSE IF IT HAD. MY DAUGHTER WOULD NOT HAD GOTTEN A BUMP ON HER NOSE THAT HURTLED WHICH IT MEANS SHE ENDED HITTING MY SEAT WHERE YOU REST YOUR HEAD. TWO HER KNEES HURTED WHEN SHE WENT FORWARD TO MY SEAT AND HIT ME. THREE, IT MADE HER HEAD TOO MUCH FORWARD AND BACKWARD THAT SHE GOT A HUGE BUMP ON THE HEAD AND THE ENTIRE BACK HURTED. FOR ME MY HEAD HURTED, SHOULDERS AND BUT. BUT FOR ME THE SEAT BELT I FELT IT LOCK INSTANTLY. THIS IMPACT WAS FROM BEHIND WHILE I WAS WAITING FOR THE LIGHT TO TURN GREEN. THE ACCIDENT WAS HURTFUL BUT NOT TO SERVER OF A TOTAL LOST ON MY END. MY DAUGHTER DID GO TO THE HOSPITAL. THIS IS WHY IT CONCERNS ME.
MY DAUGHTER AND I WERE DRIVING ON A SMOOTH STREET, WHEN SUDDENLY THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADREST POPPED FORWARD. IT STRUCK MY DAUGHTER IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD QUITE HARD CAUSING HER TO HAVE A SORE NECK, AND POSSIBLY NEED MEDICAL ATTENTION IF IT IS NOT BETTER IN A DAY OR SO. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. IN THE LONG LINE OF PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE AND NUMEROUS RECALLS, THERE IS NOW AN INJURY. I FEEL LIKE I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MY DRIVER SIDE HEADREST DOING THE SAME WHILE I AM DRIVING. THIS CAR IS LITERALLY FALLING APART. AS A LIFE LONG DODGE OWNER, I DON'T THINK I COULD EVER BUY ANOTHER.
THERE ARE MORE PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR. THERE HAVE BEEN NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR SINCE I BOUGHT IT WHEN IT WAS BRAND NEW. IT'S ONLY 4 YEARS OLD. IT LEAKS OIL NOW TOO! I FEEL VERY UNSAFE DRIVING THIS CAR WITH MY CHILDREN IN IT. THERE HAVE BEEN 9 RECALLS AND NOW I SEE THERE ARE 2 THAT I HAVEN'T HAD DONE. THIS SHOULD BE A LEMON. THIS CAR IS UNSAFE AND I AM STILL PAYING ON THIS CAR. A CAR THAT HAS NOTHING BUT STEERING, ELECTRICAL, AIR BAG, ENGINE AND OTHER NUMEROUS PROBLEMS. I SHOULD BE ABLE TO GIVE THIS CAR BACK AND WALK AWAY FROM IT. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE! NO ONE SHOULD BE DRIVING IT! I HAD MY OIL CHANGED AND THE NEXT DAY IT SAID I NEEDED MY OIL CHANGED. THE DRIVER WINDOW SCREECHES, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP, THE CAR LAGS WHEN I GO TO BREAK. WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE THE CAR STALLS AND REVS SUPER HIGH. THE ENGINE SMELLS AS IF IT WERE ON FIRE. IT'S NOT SAFE. I'M VERY UPSET. I HAVE 3 LITTLE CHILDREN. I NEED MY CAR TO BE SAFE AND RELIABLE. THIS CAR IS NEITHER. THERE HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS SINCE I GOT THIS CAR. BUT I'D HAVE IT FIXED AND THEN SOMETHING ELSE WOULD HAPPEN. NOW MORE IS HAPPENING. THINGS I THOUGHT HAD BEEN FIXED EVEN! PLEASE THIS CAR IS A LEMON. CAR SHUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. POWER STEERING AND BREAKS GO OUT. VERY DANGEROUS, WITHOUT ANY WARNING THE CAR JUST TURNS OFF. IT HAS HAPPENED AT ALL DIFFERENT SPEEDS AND WHILE TURNING. I WAS DRIVING THE CAR ON THE FREEWAY WITH MY KIDS AND CAR SUDDENLY SHUT OFF.
DRIVER'S SIDE ACTIVE HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE VEHICLE WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY, UNOCCUPIED. REPORTED INCIDENT TO DEALER ONLINE BUT THEY NEVER RESPONDED. I ASKED ABOUT IT IN PERSON, THEY SAID THEY COULD REPLACE THE HEADREST FOR $480... NO, THANK YOU!
ENGINE LIGHT ON - DETECTED THAT THE ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR CIRCUIT NEEDS TO BE REPLACE. FAILURE CODE ZZ. ACCORDING TO THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN; THIS HAS BEEN AN ON-GOING PROBLEM WITH THE DODGE JOURNEY BUT HAS YET TO BE A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON.
