OUT OF FUEL VEHICLE ENDED UP IN TRAFFIC WITH CARS ZIPPING BY. POLICE WERE CALLED BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION COULD NOT BE PLACED IN NEUTRAL TO PUSH VEHICLE OUT OF TRAFFIC. HAD POLICE NOT ASSISTED IT WOULD RESULT IN BEING REAR ENDED WITH CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE. THE POLICE NOR THE TOW TRUCK KNEW HOW TO PLACE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL. 3 MONTHS LATER THE BATTERY DIED AND VEHICLE COULD NOT BE PLACED IN NEUTRAL TO ALLOW JUMP START. LUCKY THIS DID NOT HAPPEN IN TRAFFIC OR CHILDREN WOULD BE AT RISK AGAIN . THIS COULD ALSO HAVE BEEN AVOIDED EXCEPT THAT THERE IS NO IDIOT LIGHT ON DASH TO WARN OF BATTERY CONDITION.
MISSED SAFETY RECALL FOR TRANSMISSION OIL PUMP. VEHICLE LEAKS.
DRIVING THE CAR ON THE HIGHWAY, IT STARTED TO SLOW DOWN; THE VEHICLE STOPPED AND DID NOT MOVE. MY CHILDREN AND I SCARED BUT THANK GOD HELP CAME. THE LIGHTS ON THE CAR TURNED ON, INDICATING SOMETHING WAS WRONG.I COULDN'T READ THE SIGN OR UNDERSTAND WHAT WENT WRONG. THE CAR WILL NOT STAY ON. IT SHUT OFF, AND THE CODE INDICATED THE CYLINDER IS NOT WORKING. I REPORTED IT AND TOWED THE DODGE DEALERSHIP VEHICLE BECAUSE THE REPRESENTATIVE SAID IT WOULD BE COVERED BECAUSE IT'S A RECALL. MY CAR IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP. MORE THAN TWO MONTHS AND NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHY THE CAR WON'T WORK.
WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT VEHICLE STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS AFTER LIGHT TURNED GREEN. VEHICLE WAS IN DRIVE AND WAS SOMEHOW NOT IN GEAR. HAD TO PLACE IN PARK THEN BACK TO DRIVE SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT FINALLY GOT IN GEAR. IT DID THIS SEVERAL TIMES THROUGHOUT THE DAY SO HAD TO GET CAR TOWED. TOOK CAR TO DEALERS AND THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. SUGGESTED WE REPLACE THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION FOR ALMOST $5,000. THE CAR ONLY HAS 68,000 APPROXIMATELY. CAR WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW IN 2016. STILL OWE MONEY ON THE VEHICLE AND ENDED UP TAKING THE CAR TO GET THE TRANSMISSION REBUILD ELSEWHERE.
HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING. NO CRASH NO ONE IN PASSENGER SEAT OR BEHIND IT. DRIVING IN CITY ON A STRAIGHT STREET. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION IT APPEARS A SMALL PLASTIC PIECE THAT HOLDS A PIN HAS BROKEN OFF.
PUT HEAD BACK ON HEAD REST & IT JUST DEPLOYED/CAME OPEN.
DRIVERS ACTIVE HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE CAR UNOCCUPIED.
MY SON EXITED THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT SEAT AND THE HEADREST DEPLOYED. WE WEREN'T INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. WE HAD JUST PARKED THE CAR. I REVERSED INTO THE PARKING SPOT, PUT THE CAR IN PARK, AND WE EXITED THE CAR. I HEARD A THUMP WHEN WE CLOSED THE DOORS. WHEN I OPENED THE DOOR TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED, THE HEADREST HAD SPRANG FORWARD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2016 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED TO CHANGE GEARS. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE ACCELERATING THERE WAS ABNORMAL WINDING NOISE DETECTED. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KEFFER CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (8214 E INDEPENDENCE BLVD, CHARLOTTE, NC 28227, (704) 532-1050) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 146,000.
PULLING TO GO UP BRIDGE OR HIGHWAY. TRACKING LIGHTS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ABS LIGHT COMES OFF AND ON. BRAKING IS HARD
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD MY JEEP STARTED WHINING. THE MORE THE PRESSED THE GAS THE MORE IT WOULDN'T GO INTO GEAR. I STOPPED AND TRIED GOING AGAIN AND IT WOULDN'T GO JUST THE RPM'S WAS GOING UP AND NO MOVEMENT.
THE TRANSMISSION STARTED TO SLIP AND THE RPM'S WERE REALLY HIGH. COULD ONLY DRIVE 40 MPH.
PASSENGER SIDE HEAD RESTRAIN IS DEPLOYED/BROKEN. CAME OUT TO CAR IN MORNING AND HEAD RESTRAIN WAS SPLIT OPEN. APPEARS TO BE BROKEN TABS AND CANNOT BE REASSEMBLED. NOW HAVE A BROKEN HEAD RESTRAIN ON PASSENGER SEAT. SEEMS UNSAFE. NOT MOVING, NOT NOT OCCUPIED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON AND OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER LARRY H. MILLER DODGE LOCATED AT 1800 W 104TH AVE, DENVER, CO 80234, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CRACKED DUE TO A DEFECTIVE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE SEVERAL LIGHTS LOCATED ON THE REAR LIFTGATE WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE OR WAS VERY DIM DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL SHORT IN THE TAIL GATE WIRING HARNESS. THE BRAKE LIGHTS, TAG LIGHTS AND SIGNAL LIGHTS WERE AFFECTED BY THE ELECTRICAL SHORT. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES BUT, NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000.
MY CAR STARTED WHINING BAD AND LOSS POWER IT WAS STUCK IN ONE GEAR. NOW I'M HAVING TO GET A NEW TRAINSMISSION I HAVE 113,000MILES ON IT AND ONLY 4 YRS OLD BEFOR THIS HAPPENED I HAVE TO REPLACE 2 ROCKER ARMS AT 2 DIFFERENT TIMES ON 2 DIFFERENT CAMS THE ROCKER ARMS ARE A TERRIBLE DESIGNED IN THIS CAR AND GO BAD EASILY AND COST ALOT OF TIME AND MONEY TO GET THEM REPLACED
THE FRONT PASSENGER HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED AND SHUT OFF IN THE DEIVEWAY.
WHEN DRIVING, AT ANY SPEED OR UPON ACCELERATION, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY LOSES POWER AND GOES TO 1500RPM(APPROX.) WITH A TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT AND BATTERY CHARGING LIGHT ( CAR SWERVING LIGHT AND RED LIGHTNING BOLT LIGHT) ILLUMINATED. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THIS IS VERY HAZARDOUS, ON THE STREET ITS VERY FRUSTRATING. WHEN VEHICLE IS BROUGHT TO A STOP AND COMPLETELY SHUTDOWN, THEREBY RESETTING THE ECM, THE VEHICLE STARTS NORMALLY AND DRIVES NORMALLY( SOMETIMES!) ON OTHER OCCASIONS AFTER BEING PUT INTO GEAR AND PROCEEDING THE SAME THING OCCURS AND ENGINE WILL NOT REV OVER 1500-1800 RPMS AND SO LONG AS YOU ARE NOT GOING UP A HILL WILL SHIFT NORMALLY TO GET TO ABOUT 40 MPH TOPS, ON A HILL HOWEVER SPEED WILL DROP TO ABOUT 15-20 DEPENDING ON THE HILL I GUESS. THIS HAPPENED ON 8-15-20 AND CAR RESET AND DROVE NORMALLY AFTER THAT WITH NO ISSUES BUT THE FOLLOWING MORNING AS I LEFT HOME FOR WORK IT OCCURRED 2 BLOCKS AWAY FROM HOME AND AFTER RESETTING CAR VIA SHUTTING IT DOWN SEVERAL TIMES THE ISSUE WOULD NOT "SELF CURE". HOPEFULLY, AS THIS IS SUNDAY AT 5 AM WHEN THE MECHANIC TROUBLESHOOTS IT DISPLAYS THE SAME BEHAVIOR AND I WILL UPDATE THIS POST.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where they informed the contact the camshaft sensor and crankshaft sensor should be replaced. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V907000 ( Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
THE HEADREST POPPED OUT AND WON'T GO BACK IN WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. NO SUDDEN STOP. JUST DRIVING AS USUAL AND IT POPPED OUT AND WILL NOT GO BACK IN.
ENGINE KEEPS LOSING POWER AND DYING. CRUISE CONTROL REVES ENGINE TO HIGH UP AND DOWN FOR NOW REASON ON A STRAIGHT STRETCH OF STREET WHEN YOURTURN TO THE LEFT TO SHARP THE ENGINE DIES.
WHEN DRIVING DOWN HILL ON THE FREEWAY ( 65 MPH OR FASTER) AND BRAKING TO SLOW THE CAR, A HEAVY VIBRATION AND WOBBLING OCCURS ON THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE ( TIRE, SUSPENSION). ALSO OCCURS WHEN CAR IS WASHED AND THE WHEEL IS WET. APPLYING BREAKS MAKES IT WOBBLE GOING AT A SLOWER SPEED, 25/35MPH
AROUND 11 MTHS AGO.PRESTON DEALERSHIP REPLACED 3 CENSORS BUT STILL ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON . THEN REPLACE ENGINE HARNESS IT WAS OK UNTIL LAST WEEK WHEN MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND CAR STALLED ALL 3 TIMES.HARD TIME STATING .AFTER AROUND 8 HOURS LIGHT GOES OUT .HAD CODE READ BY AUTO ZONE SHOWROOM CRANKSHAFT SENSOR AND HATNESS..ITS VERY UNSAFE WHEN MY CAR STALLS ON HIGHWAY IN HEAVEY TRAFFIC AT 70 MPHS. PLEASE HELP.

THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. CRONIN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM LOCATED AT 518 W MAIN ST, LEBANON, OH 45036, WAS CONTACTED AND AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED WHICH WAS STILL PENDING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 67,000.
I WENT TO GO TO TOWN, OPENED THE DRIVER'S DOOR, STARTED WORKING THE LEVER TO RAISE THE SEAT, NEXT THING I KNEW THERE WAS A LOUD BANG AND THE HEADREST EXPLODED. THERE WAS A SMALL PIECE OF BLACK PLASTIC THAT LANDED IN THE SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY, THE IGNITION WAS STILL OFF.
MY AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AND GOING OFF. MY ABS LIGHT STAYS OFF AFTER STARTING AND WHILE DRIVING. NOW MY BRAKE LIGHT IS ON. THE BRAKE POPS ON AFTER I BEGAN TO DRIVE AND STAYS ON.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.

FRESNO CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (6162 N BLACKSTONE AVE, FRESNO, CA 93710) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V907000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE ENGINE ON MY CAR WAS STALLING AND IT DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY ROAD. THANKFULLY, IT HAPPENED IN THE TURNING LANE SO I DIDN'T GET HIT. THOUGHT IT WAS THE BATTERY, SO WE BOUGHT AND NEW ONE AND HAD IT REPLACED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AFTER THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED AND THE CAR ENGINE WOULD JUST TURN AND STALL AND WOULD NOT START. HAD TO TOW MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. I CALLED AND THERE WERE NO RECALLS LISTED FOR MY VIN, BUT I SAW A CHRYSLER RECALL S89 THAT WAS FOR 2016 DODGE JOURNEYS FOR ENGINE STALLING AND WOULD NEED THE CAMSHAFT OR CRANKSHAFT SENSOR REPLACED. IT AFFECTS 2016 DODGE JOURNEYS MANUFACTURED MAY 9, 2016 TO JULY 15, 2016. MY 2016 DODGE JOURNEY WAS MANUFACTURED ON JULY 11, 2016. HAD DIAGNOSTICS RAN (AT MY EXPENSE) AND THE CRANK SENSOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. CHRYSLER WAS CONTACTED AND IS GIVING ME THE RUNAROUND TO FIXING THE ISSUE ALL BECAUSE THE RECALL IS NOT ON MY VIN. *TR

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE REAR ABS WHEEL SPEED SENSOR FAILED. MY VEHICLE HAS 26,651 MILES ON IT. THIS CAUSED ME TO HAVE TO PULL OVER ON AN INTERSTATE IN ORDER TO CHECK TO SEE WHAT WAS HAPPENING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STARTED TO MISFIRE AFTER THE IGNITION COILS WERE REPLACED. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
