WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK, GAS BACKS UP AND POURS OUT OF THE TANK SPOUT. THIS ISN'T EXCLUSIVE TO FILLING UP THE TANK ENTIRELY. THIS CAUSES A CONCERN AS IT SPRAYS FUEL ON THE INDIVIDUAL PUMPING THE GAS AND LEAVES A SPILL AT THE GAS PUMP. *TR
I FILLED FUEL TANK AND USED THE AUTO FUEL FILL FEATURE AT THE FUEL PUMP THE PUMP SHUT OFF AND WHEN IT DID APPROX A QUART OF GAS CAME SPURTING OUT ALL OVER THE PAINT AND ONTO THE GROUND LEAVING A PUDDLE OF FUEL,TO ME THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM AND SHOULD, BUT IS NOT A RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE. *TR
ABOUT THREE WEEKS AGO ON 05 DECEMBER 2011, I WAS DRIVING MY 2007 DODGE NITRO 4X2 UNTIL I CAME TO A STOP AT A RED TRAFFIC LIGHT. I HAD MY BLINKER ON AND WAS READY TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN AS SOON AS THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I LIGHTLY STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR WHEN A LOUD EXPLOSION WAS HEARD AND FELT IN THE VEHICLE UNDERCARRIAGE. THE VEHICLE'S DRIVE SHAFT HAD EXPLODED UPWARDS, HITTING THE UNDERCARRIAGE AND THEN DROPPING TO THE FLOOR. THE VEHICLE LOST COMPLETE POWER AND STOPPED IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE DRIVELINE FELL OFF. MY DAUGHTER AND NIECE FELT THE HIT IN GREATER MAGNITUDE AS THEY WERE SITTING IN THE BACK SEAT. MY INSURANCE COVERED THE WRECKER AND TRANSPORTED THE VEHICLE TO THE NEAREST DODGE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A FAULTY HEATSHIELD THAT FELL OFF THE UNDERCARRIAGE AND WAS RUBBING AGAINST THE ALUMINUM DRIVESHAFT. SINCE THE HEATSHIELD IS MADE OF ALUMINUM AND FIBERGLASS, THE RUBBING OF ALUMINUM AGAINST ALUMINUM HAS A CUTTING EFFECT THAT CAUSED THE DRIVESHAFT TO CUT OPEN AND THEN EXPLODE CUTTING IT IN HALF. LUCKILY, I WAS MAKING A TURN GOING NO MORE THAN 10 TO 15 MILES AN HOUR. HAD I BEEN DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY THIS ISSUE WOULD HAVE LIKELY CAUSED A FATAL AND CATASTROPHIC ACCIDENT. THERE IS NO RECALL THAT I KNOW OF. MY EXTENDED WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THE REPAIR AS IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE POLICY. MY CAR INSURANCE DOES NOT COVER THE REPAIRS AS IT IS CONSIDERED A MECHANICAL FAILURE AND NOT A COLLISION. DODGE SHOULD CONDUCT AN INVESTIGATION ON THE CAUSE OF THE HEATSHIELD COMING OFF FROM THE UNDERCARRIAGE, AND RECALL VEHICLES TO PREVENT ANY FUTURE CATASTROPHIC EVENTS. *KB
USED THE KEY FOB TO LOCK THE CAR, WALKED OUT ABOUT 10 MINUTES LATER TO FIND THE COOLING FAN RUNNING ON THE CAR EVEN THOUGH THE CAR HAD NOT MOVED. UNLOCKED THE CAR THE FAN STOPPED RUNNING BUT HE BATTERY WAS DEAD. CHARGED THE BATTERY AND ALL WAS FINE TILL TRYING TO LEAVE FOR WORK ON MONDAY MORNING WHEN BATTERY WAS DEAD AGAIN AFTER USING THE KEY FOB TO LOCK THE CAR. NO LONGER USING THE KEY FOB UNTIL WE CAN FIND OUT WHAT IS GOING ON. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE NITRO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE, GAS SPEWED BACK OUT OF THE FILLER NECK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ROLL OVER VALVE WITHIN THE FUEL TANK WAS DEFECTIVE AND AS A RESULT, THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 72,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE NITRO RT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER EXITING THE VEHICLE, THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR HANDLE DETACHED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 58,000.
WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK WITH AN AUTOMATIC CUT OFF NOZZLE, THERE IS SEVERE SPLASH BACK AS THE NOZZLE SHUTS OFF THE GAS SUPPLY. GAS SPOUTS OUT OF THE FILLER PIPE UNDER PRESSURE. THIS IS REAL FIRE HAZARD PLUS QUITE A MESS IF IT GETS ON THE DRIVER/GAS PUMP USER. REPEATED SURGES WILL LIKELY TAKE THE PAINT OFF THE LEFT REAR FENDER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE NITRO. THE CONTACT STATED THE TAIL LAMPS STOPPED WORKING CONTINUOUSLY. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT ALL OF THE LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WERE FLICKERING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE LAMP, THE BULB HOLDER AND THE WIRING HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IN ORDER TO REMEDY THE SHORT WITHIN THE WIRING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE AND REFERRED HER TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
THE DRIVE SHAFT BROKE IN HALF. THE ALUMINUM INSULATION BLANKET LOCATED ABOVE THE DRIVE SHAFT SAGGED AND CAME IN CONTACT WITH THE DRIVE SHAFT. OVER TIME, THE RUBBING OF THE BLANKET AGAINST THE DRIVE SHAFT WORE AWAY A 5 INCH PART OF THE DRIVE SHAFT UNTIL IT BROKE IN HALF. THE BLANKET HAS NOTHING TO KEEP IT FROM SAGGING SUCH AS WIRE (WIRE IS USED IN OTHER PLACES BUT NOT ABOVE THE SPOT ON MY CARE THAT ALLOWED THE BLANKET TO SAG). *TR
2007 DODGE NITRO, FUEL SPILLS OUT OF TANK WHEN FILLING UP VEHICLE. GASOLINE STATIONS PUMP AUTO SHUTOFF WON'T WORK WITH VEHICLE CAUSING FUEL TO COME SPLASHING OUT WHEN FULL. *TR
WHILE REFUELING GAS WILL OVERFLOW ONTO THE TRUCK AND GROUND. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I REFUEL NOW. IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW MUCH GAS IS IN THE TANK, WHAT GAS STATION, TIME OF DAY, WINTER OR SUMMER, THE RESULT IS THE SAME FUEL OVERFLOW. *TR
I WAS GETTING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN THE ACCELERATOR BECAME STUCK. I WAS RIDING THE BRAKE AND THE ACCELERATOR WAS STILL STUCK. I DROPPED THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN BACK TO DRIVE AND THE ACCELERATOR REMAINED STUCK. I DROPPED THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL FOR THE SECOND TIME AND IT FINALLY CLICKED OUT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE NITRO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH. WHEN THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, THE DODGE EMBLEM ON THE STEERING WHEEL WAS SHOT OUTWARD AND LODGED ITSELF INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR PANEL. THE CONTACT EXPRESSED CONCERN ABOUT HOW FORCEFUL THE EMBLEM WAS SHOT OFF FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOWING YARD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT EXAMINED FOR THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 70,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE NITRO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A GRINDING NOISE WAS HEARD WHILE REVERSING AT 2 MPH. WHEN SHIFTED INTO DRIVE AND PROCEEDING FORWARD, THE WHEELS SEIZED. THE CONTACT SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND UPON RESTART, THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS NORMAL. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 06V341000 (POWER TRAIN: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION) AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 104,897.
I AM WRITING THIS COMPLAINT DUE TO THE FUEL VALVE SYSTEM BEING A DEFECT. THERE HAS BEEN SO MANY COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE FUEL SYSTEM SUCH AS WHEN YOUR PUMPING GAS IT IS OVERFLOWING DUE TO THE FUEL VALVE NOT WORKING PROPERLY LIKE IT SHOULD. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY REASON DUE TO IT SHUTS THE FUEL OFF IF THE CAR ARE ROLLED OVER WHICH MAY CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO WHOEVER IS INVOLVED. MY CAR ONLY HAS 38,500 MILES ON THE CAR AND IS USED. I GOT IT A YEAR AGO AND IT DID IT TO ME TWICE WHEN I FIRST DID IT BUT THEN HAVEN'T DONE IT SINCE THE LAST 5 FUEL UPS AND NOW IT IS OVER FLOWING EVERY TIME. THEY HAVE RECALLED THE JEEPS DUE TO THIS PROBLEM BUT THEY HAVE NOT THE DODGE NITROS. THE DODGE NITROS HAVE THE SAME FUEL TANK IN THEM AS THE JEEPS SO WHAT ARE THEY WAITING FOR. FOR SOMEONE TO GET SERIOUSLY INJURED OR EVEN DIE BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. IT GET IT REPAIRED COST OVER 1,000. I GOT IT USED AND THE DEALER ISN'T EVEN WILLING TO COVER IT. I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD RECALL THE DODGE NITROS FOR THE FUEL SYSTEM DUE TO THE SERIOUSNESS OF THIS BECAUSE I KNOW I AM GOING TO BE HAVING A NEWBORN VERY SOON AND THE SAFETY IS VERY HIGH AND IF THEY DO NOT GET RECALL I WILL BE GETTING IT FIXED SINCE NOW A DAYS THE PEOPLE WHO SELL THESE PRODUCTS DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS ANYMORE. *TR
WHEN FILLING THE VEHICLE WITH GASOLINE, THE AUTO SHUT OFF DOES NOT WORK. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS, AS IT OVERFILLS AND FUEL SPILLS OUT ALL OVER THE VEHICLE AND THE SURROUNDING AREA. I HAVE LEARNED THAT THIS HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE VAPOR VALVE IN THE FUEL TANK, AND IS EVEN A BIGGER PROBLEM IF THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A ROLLOVER, AS THE FUEL WOULD COME SPILLING OUT OF THE TANK. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING THE FUEL TANK. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL, AS DODGE HAS HAD THIS HAPPEN BEFORE ON OTHER MODELS. *TR
MY ELECTRONICS CONTROL MODULE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON I PULLED OVER AND THEN TOOK IT STRAIGHT TO THE NEAREST DODGE DEALERSHIP. THEY CALLED ME TUES NEXT DAY AND SAID THAT MY ENGINE HAD HYDRO LOCKED. *TR
AS YOU ARE PUTTING GAS INTO THE FUEL TANK IT WILL OVERFLOW FROM FILLER SPOUT. THIS WILL HAPPEN NO MATTER THE AMOUNT OF FUEL IN TANK. GAS OVERFLOWING ON THE 2007 DODGE NITRO WHEN ATTEMPTING TO FILL THE TANK IS MOST LIKELY CAUSED BY A VALVE IN THE GAS TANK THAT IS THERE TO PREVENT AN EXPLOSION IN THE EVENT OF A ROLLOVER ACCIDENT. THE VALVE IS DEFECTIVE, AND THUS THE GAS SPILLS OUT. *TR
I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED IN OCTOBER OF 2011, SO I ONLY KNOW THE PROBLEM STARTED WITH MY FIRST GAS TANK FILL UP. AFTER EACH AND EVERY "FILL UP" SEVERAL OUNCES OF GASOLINE LEAK FROM THE TANK AREA...THIS DOES NOT COME FROM THE HOLE WHERE THE GAS PUMP NOZZLE GOES, IT SEEMS TO BE LEAKING FROM BENEATH THAT POINT. THIS IS PROBLEMATIC BECAUSE THE ENTIRE BOTTOM LEFT PORTION OF MY VEHICLE IS BATHED IN GASOLINE. UPON RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM I HAVE FOUND THAT MANY OTHER DODGE NITRO OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. MY GAS ATTENDANT ALSO HAS TOLD ME THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE DODGE NITRO AND A FEW MODELS OF THE JEEP. HIS SUGGESTION IS TO NEVER FILL MY TANK TO FULL AGAIN. THAT IS NOT A SOLUTION, THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ISSUED AND DODGE NEEDS TO TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM, NOW! *TR
WHEN DRIVING 65MPH THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE OVER 25 MPH. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS TIMES. HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP 6 TIMES AND HAVE THE INPUT SPEED MODULE AND A TRANSMISSION MODULE UNDER THE DASHBOARD REPLACED. EITHER ITEM HAS FIXED THE PROBLEM. IT IS CURRENTLY STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP. *TR
I HAVE HAD MY 2007 DODGE NITRO FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS NOW. SINCE I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE, I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE DOOR HANDLES INSIDE THE VEHICLE ARE FAULTY AND CONTINUALLY FAIL. THEY BREAK AND BECOME INOPERABLE, LEAVING WHO EVER IS SITTING BY THE DOOR TRAPPED IN THE VEHICLE UNLESS OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE. MY DOOR HANDLE BROKE FOR THE FIRST TIME AND I THOUGHT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN MY FAULT. SINCE THEN MY DOOR HANDLES HAS BROKEN SEVERAL TIMES AND I HAVE HAD TO SPEND ALOT OF MONEY TO REPLACE THEM EVERY TIME. I MAKE LESS THAN THE AVERAGE BLUE COLLAR WORKER AND DO NOT HAVE THE $175 EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE DOOR HANDLE BREAKS. THEREFORE, AT TIMES SUCH AS NOW I HAVE TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE HANDLES BROKEN BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD IT. I CURRENTLY HAVE TWO DOOR HANDLES BROKEN RIGHT NOW. I FEEL THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE IF A CAR ACCIDENT WERE TO HAPPEN, AND THE PERSON SITTING NEXT TO THE DOOR WITH THE BROKEN HANDLE NEEDED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE IN A HURRY, THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT. ONCE THE HANDLE IS BROKEN, THE DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE. SO, LETS SAY THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. THE PERSON NEXT TO THE DOOR WITH THE BROKEN HANDLE WOULD BE STUCK UNLESS SOMEONE OPENED THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE OR UNLESS THAT PERSON WERE TO QUICKLY ROLL THE WINDOW DOWN, REACH OUT AND OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. I FEEL THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AND HAVE VOICED MY OPINION TO DODGE ABOUT THE ISSUE. I ASKED THEM TO START A RECALL OF THE ITEM AND FIND A SUITABLE REPLACEMENT FOR IT THAT WILL NOT BREAK ALL THE TIME. DODGE WOULD NOT EVEN HEAR MY CONCERNS AND POINTED ME TOWARDS THIS WEBSITE. I HOPE THIS ISSUE IS TAKEN SERIOUSLY, BECAUSE I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON WHO IS HAVING THIS ISSUE. MANY DODGE NITRO OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE OF YOU GOOGLE IT, YOU WILL SEE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARKING LEVER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V525000 (PARKING BRAKE) ADDRESSED THE FAILURE FOR MANUAL TRANSMISSION, NOT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. THE DEALER DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT FAILED TO OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE TO THE CONTACT. NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 90,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
WHEN I AM FILLING GAS TANK, THE AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF DOES NOT WORK, AND FUEL POURS OUT EVERYWHERE. I HAVE BEEN COVERED IN GAS SEVERAL TIMES AS IT SUDDENLY OVERFLOWS AND ALMOST SEEMS TO SHOOT OUT. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME, STARTED ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO BUT SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY. *TR
WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK GAS WILL SHOOT OUT OF THE TANK AT THE PUMP WHEN IT FINISHES. I DON'T TOP OF THE TANK OR ANYTHING, IT JUST SHOOTS OUT, PROBABLY A QUART OR MORE OF GAS. THIS HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY TIME I PUMP GAS. IT HAPPENS AT EVERY GAS STATION I'VE BEEN TO. WHEN MY MECHANIC TRIED DISCUSSING IT WITH THE CAR COMPANY THEY STATED THEY KNEW IT WAS A PROBLEM BUT WOULDN'T HAVE IT REPAIRED. IT'S A DANGER TO HAVE GAS SHOOTING OUT OF THE TANK AT EVERY FILL-UP AND THEN DEALING WITH GAS ALL OVER THE VEHICLE AND ME. *TR
WE BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED WITH NEAR 16,700 MILES. SINCE THE DAY WE PURCHASED IT, WE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE GAS OVERFLOWING ON THE 2007 DODGE NITRO WHEN ATTEMPTING TO FILL THE TANK. THIS IS MOST LIKELY CAUSED BY A VALVE IN THE GAS TANK THAT IS THERE TO PREVENT AN EXPLOSION IN THE EVENT OF A ROLLOVER ACCIDENT. THE VALVE IS DEFECTIVE, AND THUS THE GAS SPILLS OUT, AND THIS VEHICLE COULD POSSIBLY EXPLODE IN A ROLLOVER ACCIDENT. I HAVE READ THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT, AND THAT CHRYSLER KNOWS ABOUT IT. BUT I ALSO READ THAT THEY ARE DOING NOTHING ABOUT THIS SAFETY ISSUE. I TRY TO DO MY BEST TO PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT BY LISTENING WHEN FILLING THE VEHICLE, AND STOPPING THE PUMP BEFORE IT SOUNDS LIKE IT IS NEAR THE TOP. BUT I DON'T ALWAYS CATCH IT IN TIME, AND GAS SPRAYS OUT ONTO THE CAR, MYSELF AND THE GROUND. NOT MUCH I CAN DO IF EVER INVOLVED IN A ROLL OVER THOUGH. *TR

EVERY TIME I FILL THE GAS TANK OF MY 2007 DODGE NITRO THERE IS A LARGE AMOUNT OF GASOLINE THAT "BURPS" BACK OUT OF THE TANK ONTO THE CAR, THE GROUND AND ANYONE (UNSUSPECTING THAT THIS WOULD HAPPEN) STANDING NEAR BY. IT MAY BE AS MUCH AS A GALLON OF GASOLINE. CHRYSLER HAS ADMITTED THIS IS DUE TO A MANUFACTURING DEFECT OF A VALVE IN THE GAS TANK. THIS VALVE IS THERE TO PREVENT THE POSSIBILITY OF AN EXPLOSION IN THE EVENT OF A ROLLOVER ACCIDENT. IF THIS VALVE IS DEFECTIVE IT WOULD SEEM IT WILL NOT PREVENT AN EXPLOSION IN A ROLLOVER ACCIDENT. RECENTLY MY DAUGHTER BORROWED THE CAR. I NEGLECTED TO TELL HER ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. SHE FILLED THE CAR AND STOOD THERE AS GASOLINE COVERED HER SHOES AND THE BOTTOM OF A GOOD PAIR OF SLACKS. YOU CAN IMAGINE HER HORROR AS SHE STOOD THERE COVERED IN FRESH GASOLINE. CHRYSLERS SOLUTION AT THIS TIME IS FOR ME TO PAY A DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE THE GAS TANK. TO AVOID HAVING TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR (WITH MONEY I DON'T HAVE) AS THE TANK FILLS I SLOW THE FUEL FLOW INTO THE TANK TO THE SLOWEST FLOW RATE ON THE PUMP HANDLE. THERE IS STILL A "BURP" BACK AT FULL. JUST NOT VERY MUCH FUEL. THIS DEFECTIVE VALVE IS GOING TO CAUSE HORRIBLE DEATHS OR DISFIGURING BURNS TO SOMEONE. LESS THAN ONE YEAR LATER THE SAME PROBLEM COMES BACK, BUT THEY WILL NO LONGER TAKE CAR OF IT BECAUSE NOW IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. *TR

IN ADDITION, BOTH FRONT ROTORS AND BOTH FRONT CA PLIERS WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM AND REPAIRED THE VEHICLE AT THEIR EXPENSE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000. UPDATED 05/11/12*LJ ACCORDING TO THE INVOICE, BRAKE FLUID WAS LEAKING FROM THE MASTER CYLINDER AND CONTAMINATED THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THE RIGHT FRONT BRAKE INNER PAD FELL OUT OF THE BRACKET AND THE PISTON HIT THE ROTOR AND DAMAGED IT. THE BRAKE BOOSTER, MASTER CYLINDER, BOTH FRONT BRAKE CALIPERS AND ROTORS WERE REPLACED. I HAVE PROBLEMS WHEN FUELING MY VEHICLE. I DO NOT TOP OFF. WHEN THE AUTO SHUT OFF ON THE HOSE CLICKS, GAS WILL SHOOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THIS WILL HAPPEN EVERY TIME IF I DON'T STOP THE FUEL BEFORE I KNOW IT IS ALMOST FULL. BECAUSE OF THIS BACK FLUSH OF FUEL, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON ALONG WITH THE GASCAP LIGHT. WITHOUT WARNING OR VEHICLE HESITATION, THE MOTOR STALLED AND I LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. FORTUNATELY I WAS IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA AND I PULLED INTO A DRIVEWAY AND ATTEMPTED TO RE-START MY VEHICLE WITHOUT SUCCESS. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL DODGE DEALER WHERE THEY DETERMINED THE TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE) HAD FAILED AND WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF APPROXIMATELY $625.00 +$85.00 TO THE TOWING COMPANY. I HAVE ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH THE WIPER RELAYS TWICE (WHICH ARE PART OF SAFETY RECALL J28) ONCE BEFORE THE RECALL UNDER WARRANTY AND NOW HAD IT REPLACED WITH THE TIPM. SINCE THE WIPER RELAY IS PART OF THE TIPM, I WONDER IF THE COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE TIPM IS RELATED OR MAYBE FAULTY TIPM;S ARE CAUSING THE WIPER RELAY PROBLEM.
