WHIN FILLING TANK GAS BOILS OUT JUST AFTER THE AUTO SHUTOFF CLICKS.
INTERIOR HAZING OF THE HEADLAMP LENSES. BOTH REPLACED AT 16,000, RIGHT SIDE REPLACED AGAIN AT 30,000, LEFT SIDE STARTING TO SHOW SLIGHT SIGNS OF SAME PROBLEM AT 33,000. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE NITRO. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING AND THEN PROCEEDED TO RESTART AND INDEPENDENTLY REVERSE. THE DEALER ADVISED HE WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE BECAUSE THE FAILURE CODES WERE RESET WHEN THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY RESTARTED. THE FAILURE PERSISTED INTERMITTENTLY. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT HIS VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER RECALL AND WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
WHILE FUELING THE VEHICLE THE FUEL OVERFLOWS ONCE FULL AND GOES ALL OVER THE GROUND AND VEHICLE. THE PUMP SHUTS OFF BUT FUEL JUST COMES BACK UP THROUGH THE TANK FILL SPOUT. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 DODGE NITRO AND AFTER FILLING UP MY GAS TANK THE NOZZLE CLICKED AND THERE COMES FUEL GUSHING OUT ALL OVER THE PLACE. IT HAPPENS EVERY SINGLE TIME I FILL MY TANK WITH GAS. *TR
EVERY TIME GAS TANK IS FILLED COMPLETELY AND NOZZLE SHUTS OFF, GAS SPILLS OUT OF THE TANK ALL OVER THE CAR AND ONTO THE GROUND. SEVERE FIRE HAZARD. CAR IS NOT BEING TOPPED OFF. HAPPENS ONLY WHEN TANK IS ALLOWED TO BE COMPLETELY FULL. HAS TO DO WITH THE VEHICLE AND NOT THE GAS STATIONS PUMPS. DODGE INCORPORATED A SHUT OFF SYSTEM IN SUVS TO PREVENT FIRE DURING A ROLL OVER ACCIDENT BUT THIS IS THE PART THAT IS FAILING IN THE GAS TANK. IS A SEVERE SAFETY RISK. *TR
VEHICLE 2007 DODGE NITRO SLT 3.7 V-6: WHEN FUELING UP THE GAS PUMP WOULD CLICK OFF AND GAS WOULD COME PUMPING OUT OF THE FUEL DOOR. TOOK MY NITRO TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS AND AFTER 2 FAILED PREVIOUS REPAIRS DODGE REPLACED THE GAS TANK AND FOUND A ROLLOVER VALVE WAS STUCK WHICH CAUSES PRESSURE IN THE TANK. THE PRESSURE WOULD BUILD UP AND AS YOU FILL UP THE GAS WOULD OVER FLOW WHEN TANK WAS FULL. *TR
2007 DODGE NITRO WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION BECAUSE EMERGENCY BRAKE WILL NOT WORK. MY VEHICLE WARRANTY WILL BE UP ON 12-15-09. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER -ALL HE WANTED WAS TO SELL A BRAKE JOB. I REFUSED AND TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC. HE SAID I COULD GET A BRAKE JOB IN A FEW MONTH, BUT THAT IT HAS NOTHING TO WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE NOT WORKING. THERE IS NO ADJUST FOR IT. THE LIGHT COMES ON IN THE DASH WHEN IT IS PULLED. I HAD NO REASON TO KNOW IT DOESN'T WORK, EXCEPT FOR THE INSPECTION DECLINED. I LIVE IN HOUSTON, TEXAS AND THERE ARE NO HILLS TO PARK ON . THE MAC HIAK SERVICE MAN SAID THEY WOULD NOT GET IT WORKING. PLEASE HELP ME, I ALREADY PUT OUT 39.75 FOR AN INSPECTION STICKER I CAN NOT GET FOR FAULTY MANUFACTURE DEFAULT PART. I HAVE READ ONLINE THERE WERE RECALLS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM YEAR AND MAKE WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSION. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE NITRO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN ADDING GASOLINE TO THE FUEL TANK IT WOULD SPEW BACK OUT FROM THE FILLER TANK. THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 64,200.
THE HARDDRIVE OF THE MYGIG STEREO SYSTEM OF THE 2007 DODGE NITRO RT HAS A MALFUNCTION. THREE TIMES, WITHIN THE TWO YEARS WE HAVE OWNED THE CAR, THE HARDRIVE HAS ERASED ALL MUSIC, PHOTOS, AND/OR ADDRESSES FROM IT'S DATABASE WITHOUT REASON. EACH TIME ALL MEDIA WAS ON HARD DRIVE THE DAY BEFORE, ONLY TO BE COMPLETELY GONE THE FOLLOWING DAY. THE LAST TIME THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED WAS IN NOVEMBER 2009. *TR

ALARM SYSTEM MALFUNCTION. ALARM WOULD ACTIVATE AND STOP, ACTIVATE AND STOP. ACCORDING TO NEIGHBORS, THIS HAPPENED ON AND OFF FROM FRIDAY NIGHT 11/13/09 THROUGH SUNDAY 11/15/09. I WAS OUT OF TOWN AT THE TIME. VEHICLE WAS SITTING IN DRIVEWAY. THIS ISSUE ANNOYED MY NEIGHBORS BIG TIME. THIS PROBLEM HAS ANNOYED A NEIGHBOR SO BAD, THAT I FEEL THREATENED BY HIM, AND HAD TO CALL TO STATE POLICE ON HIM FOR PARKING ACROSS THE STREET FROM MY HOUSE AND REVVING HIS TRUCK ENGINE, FLASHING HIS HEADLIGHTS AND HONKING HIS HORN WHILE FACING MY HOUSE. I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASE THE NITRO. THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE ALARM SYSTEM, BUT I DO NOT BUY THIS AT ALL. SOMETHING HAPPENED TO CAUSED THE ALARM SYSTEM TO MALFUNCTION OVER A 2 DAY PERIOD. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP, ONCE AN ALARM IS ACTIVATED, IT DOES NOT RESET ITSELF, AND SHOULD NOT GO OFF AGAIN UNTIL IT IS RESET. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. THE CAR HAD BEEN VANDALIZED, I.E. CUT WIRES, BUT I THINK THIS WAS DONE OUT OF SHEAR ANGER BY SOMEONE ANNOYED BY THE ALARM GOING OFF ALL THE TIME, BUT I CANNOT PROVE THIS. BUT STILL, THE ALARM SYSTEM SHOULD NOT HAVE CONTINUED TO ACTIVATE ITSELF. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE NITRO. THE CONTACT PERFORMED ROUTINE MAINTENANCE ON THE VEHICLE AND DETECTED THAT THE REAR BRAKES EXHIBITED EXCESSIVE WEAR. THERE WAS RUST CORROSION INSIDE OF THE BRAKE DRUMS. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE REAR BRAKE SHOES. THERE WAS CONCERN OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 34,600.
POSSIBLE DEFECT ON A 2007 DODGE NITRO THAT IS GOING TO BE RESOLD AT AN AUTO AUCTION ON 12/10/2009. THE ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED TO DODGE/CHRYSLER AND TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT SOLD US THE CAR. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE NITRO. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A DEALER AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL BROKE CAUSING THE AXLE TO DETACH FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOWED THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC TO GET A SECOND OPINION. THE LOCAL MECHANIC SUGGESTED THAT THE CONTACT HAVE THE AXLE WELDED AND TESTED BY A SPECIALIST. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO ANOTHER DEALER TO HAVE THE VEHICLE INSPECTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000. 2007 DODGE NITRO RT. SEAT BELT RUBS ON THE PANEL WHERE THE SEAT BELT MECHANISM IS AND DUE TO THE RUBBING FROM THE SEAT BELT, IT CREATES A SHARP EDGE ON THE PLASTIC PANEL AND NOW MY SEAT BELT IS FRAYING DUE TO THE SHARP EDGE. EVERY TIME THE BELT IS GETTING WORSE AND WORSE..DEALER WONT REPLACE. I HAVE PICS OF THE AREA EFFECTED. I HAVE A 2007 DODGE NITRO THAT I PURCHASED IN 2007. WITHIN A FEW MONTHS OF OWNING I TOOK IT TOO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE BELOW RECALL ITEM FIXED. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS RECENTLY (3 TO BE EXACT) WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 50-60MPH THE ENGINE WILL SHUT OFF AND ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WILL COME ON. WHENEVER THE FUEL BEING ADDED WAS NEAR IT'S CAPACITY IT RAPIDLY BEGAN LEAKING ON THE FLOOR. THE FAILURE OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY 7 TO 8 TIMES. THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS 2007 DODGE NITRO SXT. THE CONTACT OBSERVED FUEL SPRAYING OUT OF THE FUEL TANK WHENEVER SHE WAS REFUELING THE VEHICLE. AN AUTHORIZED DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO THE CHECK VALVE IN THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CONTACT HAS CONCERNS OF THE POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD. I HAVE A 2007 NITRO RT AND IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS OCCURRED. IT HAS BEEN LOOKED AT BY THE DEALERSHIP, CHRYSLER AND AN INDEPENDENT ENGINEER AND THEY CANNOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED ONE MORNING WHEN TRYING TO PARK MY VEHICLE, I WAS ALMOST TO A STOP AND READY TO PUT IT IN PARK WHEN THE ENGINE REVVED AND THE WHEELS SPUN LIKE I HAD STOMPED THE GAS BUT MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE. AT THIS POINT I HAD BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE AND IT WOULD NOT STOP UNTIL I HIT A FULL SIZE PICKUP AND PUSHED IT INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THESE TWO VEHICLES HELD MY VEHICLE AND I WAS ABLE TO PUT IT IN PARK. MY NITRO WAS STILL REVVED UP AND WHEELS SPINNING WHEN I PUT IN PARK. CHRYSLER CHECKED THE COMPUTERS (BCM, ECM), BRAKING, TPS AND PROBABLY A FEW OTHER THINGS BUT HAVE YET TO IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM. I SEARCHED THIS WEBSITE AND FOUND AT LEAST THREE OTHER COMPLAINTS STATING THE SAME SITUATION SO I KNOW I AM NOT GOING CRAZY. THE OTHER COMPLAINTS INVOLVED THE SAME OR SIMILAR VEHICLES. I HAVE ANOTHER ENGINEER COMING TO LOOK AT THE VEHICLE (MY INSURANCE COMPANY HIRED) SO I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY IDEAS YOU MIGHT HAVE IN ORDER FOR MY NITRO TO BE FIXED BECAUSE AT THIS POINT I AM MAKING PAYMENTS ON A VEHICLE THAT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. *TR
A DODGE NITRO 2007 HAS A DEFECTIVE REAR AXLE. THIS WAS SUPPOSEDLY REPAIRED AROUND MAY 2009 AT MAROONE DODGE IN MIAMI, FLORIDA. THE REAR AXLE LEAKS OIL ALL AROUND THE REAR BRAKES. I AM TOLD BY ANOTHER DEALER THAT IF I DO NOT CORRECT THIS PROBLEM I WILL NEED A WHOLE REAR END. I BROUGHT THIS VEHICLE NEW ON 1/10/07 AND CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE DEALER DID NOT FIX IT PROPERLY. *TR

THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE FUEL TANK AND THEY STATED THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE CONTACT HAD NOT TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT WAS ONLY ABLE TO ADD A HALF TANK OF GASOLINE TO THE FUEL TANK BECAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000.
I WAS RIDING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS ALL CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE POWERED DOWN AND THEN STARTED UP. THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE TIMES THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED. THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS TODAY 06/14/2012 AND THE SUV STALLED AND ALMOST CAUSED A WRECK IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. SPEED WAS AROUND 30 MILES PER HOUR. I WENT ONLINE AND DISCOVERED THAT THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL FOR THE 2007 DODGE NITRO WITH THE VERY SAME PROBLEM BUT I HAVE BEEN TOLD MINE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL BY MY LOCAL CHRYSLER DODGE DEALERSHIP. DO I HAVE ANY RECOURSE? I WAS TOLD THERE WERE TWO OTHER RECALLS RELATED TO MY VEHICLE AFTER I PROVIDED MY VIN AND THEN DURING ANOTHER CONVERSATION I WAS TOLD THERE WAS ONLY ONE. A TRIP TO MY MECHANIC INDICATED THAT THERE WERE NO CODES SHOWING UP WHEN HE CHECKED IT WITH HIS METER. I PURCHASED MY NITRO FROM ANOTHER INDIVIDUAL AND THE WARRANTY WAS STILL ON IT AS IT ONLY HAD 16,000 MILES ON IT. IT CURRENTLY HAS ABOUT 57,000 MILES ON IT. *JB
DRIVING ARE PARKED THE HORN WILL SOUND AND LIGHTS FLASH. PARKED WITH ENGINE OFF WINDSHIELD WIPERS, AND FLUID WILL TURN ON, AND RADIO WILL COME ON. WINDOWS AND LOCKS DON'T WORK ALL THE TIME. A NEW BATTERY WILL LAST TWO DAYS BEFORE IT WON'T START. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON EVEN AFTER I HAD NEW HEADS PUT ON. AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE NITRO 4X4. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRONIC ABS CONTROL MODULE CAUSED A DELAY IN BRAKING WHEN COASTING UPHILL. IN ADDITION, BOTH REARVIEW MIRRORS EXHIBITED A BLIND SPOT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,700.
WHEN FILLING MY 2007 DODGE NITRO UP WITH GAS, THERE IS NO AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF WHEN THE TANK IS ABOUT TO BE FULL, CAUSING GAS TO SPILL OUT ON THE VEHICLE AND GAS STATION. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR ABOUT A YEAR, I MENTIONED IT TO THE CAR DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT, BUT THEY DID NOT LOOK INTO IT. NOW THAT DEALERSHIP IS CLOSED AND THE "NEW" SERVICE STATION SAYS I AM 600 MILES PAST MY WARRENTY AT 36600 MILES.
LOSS OF ELECTRICAL WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. VEHICLE TURNED OFF THEN ALL INSTRUMENT LIGHT TURNED ON, AND RED LINES THROUGH SOME. TURNED BACK ON WITHIN AFTER COMPLETE SHUT DOWN. GAS OVERFLOWS EVERYTIME I FILL MY CAR. I HAVE READ THAT THIS IS CAUSED BY A VALVE IN THE GAS TANK THAT IS THERE TO PREVENT AN EXPLOSION IN THE EVENT OF A ROLLOVER ACCIDENT AND THAT THE VALVE IS DEFECTIVE, AND THUS THE GAS SPILLS OUT, AND YOUR CAR COULD POSSIBLY EXPLODE IN A ROLLOVER ACCIDENT. I HAVE READ THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT, AND THAT CHRYSLER KNOWS ABOUT IT BUT HAS DONE NOTHING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THIS IS A BIG ISSUE AND A RECALL SHOULD BE PUT IN PLACE. *TR

ON FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS MY VEHICLE HAS SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING AT 55 OR 65 MILES PER HOUR ON A HIGHWAY. ALL THE LIGHTS IN THE DASH COME ON AND GO OUT AND THE CAR COASTS FOR A PERIOD OF TIME AND THEN THE CAR KICKS BACK ON WITHOUT WARNING. IN ONE INSTANCE I WAS ALMOST IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE I WAS GOING DOWN A HILL AND COULD NOT STOP BECAUSE THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE HOWEVER THEY INDICATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE BRAKE SYSTEM AND THEY UPDATED THE COMPUTER. THEY INDICATED THAT THIS SHOULD STOP THE PROBLEM, BUT IT DID NOT. THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST, IN FACT ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 23, 2009 IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND MY 2 YEAR OLD WAS IN THE CAR AND IT WAS AN EXPERIENCE I WILL NOT FORGET. THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUTDOWN WHILE COMING THRU AN INTERSECTION BECAUSE THE LIGHT WAS CHANGING AND I COULD NOT STOP BECAUSE THERE WAS NO POWER FORTUNATELY THE LIGHT WAS QUICK AND THE CAR'S POWER CAME BACK ON. I IMMEDIATE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP, SINCE THAT TIME THE CAR HAS BEEN WITH THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I REFUSED TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE. MEANWHILE CHRSYLER'S CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS BEEN RUDE AND NOT WILLING TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM, THE DEALERSHIP CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND CHRSYLER CANNOT OFFER ANY RESPONSE. *TR
WHILE FILLING GAS TANK, WHEN TANK BECOMES FULL IT WILL SPEW OUT GAS ALL OVER THE SIDE OF THE NITRO AND ON TO THE GROUND. NOT JUST A SMALL AMOUNT OF GAS. CLOSE TO A PINT OF GAS, IF NOT MORE. AT EACH FILLUP. TRIED DIFFERENT PUMPS AT DIFFERENT STATIONS, IN DIFFERENT STATES. ALL DO THE SAME THING. VERY HAZARDOUS TO SPILL THAT MUCH GAS ON THE GROUND EACH TIME THE NITRO IS FUELED UP. *TR
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE THROUGH A LEFT HAND TURN, DOES NOT MATTER WHAT SPEED YOU ARE DRIVING THE ESP/TCS INDICATOR LIGHT COMES ON THE DASH AND THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM ENGAGES CAUSING LOSS OF POWER AND SOMETIMES STEERING UNTIL YOU ARE THRU THE TURN. I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP,THEY SAID THEY TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR A TEST DRIVE AND NOTHING HAPPENED. THEY ALSO INFORMED ME THAT SINCE "NO CODE" SHOWED UP ON THE COMPUTER THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT THE PROBLEM. WHAT CAN I DO AS A CONSUMER TO GET THIS PROBLEM RECTIFIED. MY VEHICLE HAS A 36,000MILE WARRANTY AND I HAVE 35,000 MILES TO DATE ON THE VEHICLE. IT SHOULD ALSO COVER VEHICLES WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, BECAUSE THE SAME DEFECTIVE PARKING BRAKE PART IS USED FOR BOTH MODELS, AND THE SAME DEFECT IS FOUND ON THOSE WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS- THAT IS, THE PARKING BRAKE WILL NOT HOLD ON THOSE EQUIPPED WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. THE VEHICLE WHEN IN DRIVE AT ANY SPEED DOES A JERKING MOTION FORWARD AS IF IT IS SLIPPING GEARS OR LOSING POWER TO THE TRANSMISSION. THE SENSATION IS WORSE, PHYSICALLY MOVING MY BODY FORWARD, WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHER SPEEDS, 60-70. I KNOW THE PROBLEM WAS NOT DUE TO "BAD GAS" BECAUSE THE CAR WAS IDLING RELATIVELY WELL. IT WAS NOT ELECTRICAL DUE TO THE FACT THAT YOU COULD RELEASE YOUR FOOT FROM THE GAS AND "COAST" AND THE SENSATION STOPPED. I FOLLOWED UP WITH CHRYSLER TO CONFIRM NO OTHER RECALLS HAD BEEN ISSUED ON THE CAR. WHEN I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER I TOLD THEM I THOUGHT IT WAS THE TORQUE CONVERTER. THIS FIRST TIME THEY HAD THE CAR FOR ABOUT 3 DAYS. WHEN I PICKED IT UP THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE TORQUE CONVERTER, THEY SIMPLY UPDATED THE TRANSMISSION VIA THE COMPUTER. THE FIRST TIME I DROVE THE CAR WHICH WAS ON THE FREEWAY- ASSUMING IT WAS FIXED, THE PROBLEM OCCURRED IMMEDIATELY BUT MORE SEVERE, CAUSING MY BODY TO HIT THE STEERING WHEEL. IT WENT BACK TO THE GARAGE AGAIN, THIS TIME MAGICALLY IT WAS THE TORQUE CONVERTER AND A SEAL. I GOT THE CAR BACK, FIRST TIME I DROVE IT.. STILL IS DOING THE SAME THING. I CANT DRIVE MY KIDS IT, ITS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE ON THE FREEWAY. IT IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. TWICE I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. I AM FORCED TO DRIVE IT TO MAINTAIN MY JOB BUT WILL ONLY DRIVE IN THE SLOW LANE SO THAT I HAVE SOME KIND OF "OUT" IT IS NOW AT THE GARAGE FOR THE THIRD TIME. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE EMERGENCY LEVER WOULD HAVE TO PUSHED FARTHER THAN THE LAST EACH TIME IT WAS UTILIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. I AM WRITING TO YOU TO EXPRESS MY CONCERNS AND ALSO COMPLAINTS REGARDING DAYTONA DODGE. MY HUSBAND AND I PURCHASED A 2007 DODGE NITRO ON JULY 7, 2008. WE BROUGHT IT BACK THE VERY NEXT DAY, BECAUSE IT WASN'T RUNNING CORRECTLY, AND ALSO A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. BETWEEN JULY 8TH AND JANUARY 1, 2009, THAT VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF DAYTONA DODGE 11 OR 12 TIMES. THEY HAVE HAD TO DROP THE TRANSMISSION ON THIS VEHICLE 3 TIMES; THEY BROUGHT IN A CORPORATE REPRESENTATIVE FROM DODGE OVER IN ORLANDO. HE TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE WITH US, AND DID IDENTIFY THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM. HOWEVER, AFTER INDUCTING THE VEHICLE BACK IN FOR SERVICE, THE PROBLEM WAS STILL NOT FIXED. I WAS FINALLY TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT DAYTONA DODGES SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS DONE EVERYTHING THEY WERE TOLD TO DO, AND THAT THE VEHICLE IS JUST SUPPOSE TO RUN THAT WAY. I FIND IT VERY DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE THAT ANY CORPORATION WOULD MANUFACTURE A VEHICLE TO RUN THE WAY THIS NITRO DOES. I HAVE DONE SOME INVESTIGATING, AND FOUND THAT THERE ARE VARIOUS PROBLEMS THAT HAVE BEEN ASSOCIATED WITH THE DODGE NITRO. THE NITRO I HAVE BOTH SHUDDERS AT AROUND 40 MPH AND ALSO HAS A PROBLEM IDLING, IT TRIES TO SHUT OFF PERIODICALLY WHILST AT A RED LIGHT. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A TERRIBLE WAY TO TREAT CUSTOMERS.
