recall Out of nowhere my car began to struggle to accelerate and ultimately in the middle of driving up a rather steep hill, my car cut off on me completely i almost collided with another car trying to get out of the middle of the road because the car was showing down significantly. the engine light and the oil light came on and a "low engine oil pressure" alert was coming on as well. this problem began three months before cutting off on me on the road and ford tried to tell me it was from not getting frequent oil changes and that was not correct my car was up to date. they quoted be me $10,000 for repairs and offered me $800 for my car based off of these problems when a trade in was suggested. i know they were trying to take advantage of me. i have no other vehicle i need this car to transport my child. when i check my service records on the app it conveniently states that the work done was unknown but i paid to have the problem diagnosed and for a rental which wasn't covered because i was only 300 miles over the warranty. i have spent countless dollars on rentals and ubers because my car is not drivable. i need my car fixed completely and reimbursement for money spent on rental cars and ubers for a problem ford had BEEN known about.

My safety was at risk due to ongoing traffic which my speed was dangerously reduced. I was able to make it to the Ford AutoNation Dealership which conducted a diagnostic test results was an engine replacement. Ford Dealer never brought up a recall on the engine oil pump part. I had to notify them after finding out myself with research. CarFax and KellyBlue sent out alerts about this after my accident on January 4th 2024. The vehicle has been in great condition with upkeep of oil changes, tire rotations and brakes. All of the vehicle services and repair was at a Ford dealership. Currently my vehicle mileage is 64,861.

APIM fault affecting Backup camera and Handsfree phone system (JK2T-14G371-CCC) The issue seemed to be the result of a sudden glitch. That occurred in January 2024. The screen appeared as if the system was rebooting, then it went dark and would not come back on, no longer displaying the camera feed from the rear camera when the transmission is put in reverse. After consulting the owners manual, and trying to follow the steps for a hard reset, and reinstalling the SYNC software; the system continued to be unresponsive. After this, the vehicle was brought to Autonation Ford Memphis for diagnosis, upon which the Dealer confirmed the faulty APIM. (Part Code: JK2T-14G371-CCC) As a result of the faulty component, the Driver is unable to make use of Driver safety features such as the Rear view camera, handsfree phone system, and other vehicle information through the SYNC screen, increasing the risk of a crash

It gave me an engine code saying there was a connection issue but the car was drivable and that i needed to schedule service. No code saying your engine is failing. It was the holidays. Dealers were closing so i figured I'd call and schedule it for service. Never got the chance as it seized up on the interstate at 60mph. Thankfully i was able to safely get it to the emergency lane and then towed to the dealer. They are now saying i need a new engine due to oil pump failure and are refusing to cover the cost. I feel like this is due to there malfunction and they should be responsible.
Oil pressure dropped and motor locked up. Only has 130,000 miles on it. Only car I own and now I'm walking.

My engine died/ car turned off and would not restart with less that a 1/4 mile notice of the warning from the vehicle. I was on a major highway and the warning alarm went off. I was in sight of the highway exit and decided to pull over there because of the extreme traffic flow and highway speed to other commuters. I only made it onto the exit ramp before the car completely died. I had only seconds to respond once the warning was given. Thank heavens I was near the exit ramp or I may have been stranded in the middle of the traffic lane with cars buzzing by me at 80 MPH! I was shocked to have a catastrophic engine failure within seconds of the warning notification. I would have thought the warning alarm would have afforded me more time to react or investigate before that type of motor failure. The dealer's service rep told me that once the oil belt breaks inside the engine the damage is pretty much terminal to the vehicle and that is was a common complaint with that type of car!
oil pump failure and now motor failure.
Motor failure when low oil pressure sensor came on. car had plenty of oil . up to date on oil changes and service. 69457 miles.
On the evening of 12/20/2023 suddenly the loss of engine oil pressure with an illuminated oil pressure warning lamp came on and the engine started knocking loudly. Then as we pulled out of traffic into a parking lot spot it died and would not restart. We were in heavy traffic and if we were not able to exit as quickly as we did our family would have been stranded and blocking in the heavy traffic. Was able to start it after it cooled but the engine continued to knock and within 1 minute the oil pressure warning lamp came on. We have not taken it to a repair shop as it is at 61k miles. I had to have it towed home and are currently in a out of pocket rental. It will have to be towed for any type of service.

Low engine oil pressure light came on and engine clanking noises occurred while I was traveling on the interstate. I immediately pulled the vehicle over to a safe location. Vehicle was towed to local Ford Dealership Service Center. Was told by the service manager that Ford has been having issue with oil pump not sending oil to the engine and that I would likely need a new engine. Due to backlog of service requests, Ford has not inspected my vehicle to verify the specific issue.

My car drove fine up until the 12th. I hoped in my car to go get some medicine at target which is 8 minutes away from them. My car began to make really loud noises and my oil light came on. I knew it was within the time for me to get another routine oil change. I bought one quart of oil just to hold me over for two days. I started my car to go home and my engine light and oil light and maintenance light all came on and my car would not drive over 45mphs. When you would press the gas, it would stall for a second. Thursday, I went for my oil change and was turned away due to the sound of my car and also the man smelled my dipstick and gas was in my oil. I was told to immediately take my car to the shop. The car shop has had my car for about a week and half and reached out at first saying that my problem was my camshaft and also turbo with a few other codes. I receive a class earlier this week saying I need a new engine. My car is a 2019 ecosport with 55k miles on it. They are working on an appraisal and so far it’s already 6k. Still waiting for the final estimate to replace my engine

While driving out of state on highway with my children on 12/8/2023, oil light came on out of nowhere and no motor oil pressure warning came on. Car started losing power immediately and I had to pull off the road. Motor started knocking and I had to have the car towed to a local firestone as no ford dealers were open. There were no warning lamps on prior to this happening. We were stranded and had to have someone drive 2 hours to pick us up and rent a vehicle to get back to Texas. The ford dealership got the car on Monday, 12/11/2023, and is replacing the motor at their cost, but they told us that we have to go back to Tennessee to get a rental vehicle and we cannot do that. The motor is not going to ship until 12/27/2023 and as of today we are out of pocket over $1000 for this incident for food, lodging, rental car, tow and diagnostics and we have no car to drive. My children and I were left stranded for over 4 hours and were almost hit by a semi truck when my car started losing power.
Low engine oil pressure
The contact owns a 2019 Ford EcoSport. The contact stated while driving approximately 80 MPH, the engine made an abnormally loud pop, and smoke came up from underneath the hood. The vehicle then lost motive power. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and was diagnosed, and it was determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the piston had exploded, and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.
A “ engine oil pressure” message popped up on the dashboard of the vehicle while I was driving. The vehicle won’t not accelerate fast enough to keep up with traffic and when it did accelerate it was impossible to slow it down. The engine is defective and failed in this vehicle.
When I was driving on the freeway about an hour away from home, I got a light on my dash for "Low oil pressure." I immediately pulled off to the side and turned my car off. In the middle of a rainstorm and in the dark I checked under the hood and checked the oil level and it was normal. Remind you I got oil changes very frequently when recommended and at this time I got an oil change about 4 weeks before. I called a tow serve to have my car taken to my local mechanics shop. Immediately, the mechanic thought the worst and said it sounds like it might be an engine rebuild. He saw this issue before on other Ecosports as of recently with a degrading wet oil belt. That is what this issue was. The oil belt teeth were degrading and the arm holding the oil pump belt separated, causing loss of engine oil pressure. My engine was replaced after a week of being in the shop and it came with a very expensive mechanics bill.
While driving at freeway speed, no oil pressure warning came on and car lost power, pulled to side of highway and checked oil level, oil level fine (had just had it in to a ford dealer for service 3 days prior). Took immediately to closest ford dealer who refused to look at it (suspicious). Had it towed to family mechanic, who was able to ascertain (through research) this possible oil pump issue. Towed to closest ford dealer, who claimed it would be ready in 2 weeks. Took two months, requiring rental of car (was moving across country) and then payment of transport of vehicle across country. No communication or very little with only a “will be ready any day now” for the two months. At this point I am looking for reimbursement for the repairs along with reimbursement for additional costs incurred. (I also had to fly my finances to our new home, as she would not fit in the moving truck with her seeing eye dog).
