BRAKE PEDAL GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. NO RHYME OR REASON EXCEPT EACH OF THE HANDFUL OF TIMES IT'S DONE THIS (SEVERAL RANDOM WEEKS APART)I SEEM TO ALWAYS BE LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE GOING A LOW SPEED (LESS THAN 40 MPH) VERY SCARY FEELING WHEN ONE DOESN'T STOP AS EXPECTED. EACH TIME HAD OCCURRED WHEN ATTEMPTING A COMPLETE STOP ON CITY STREET.
DEFECTIVE BRAKE BOOSTER RECALL. BRAKE PETAL STARTED GOING TO THE FLOOR MAKING IT HARD TO STOP
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED, BUT WAS STIFF AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS ON AN INCLINE, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED AND THE VEHICLE ROLLED. THERE WAS ALSO AN ABNORMAL HISSING NOISE EMERGING FROM THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED BOB TOMES FORD (950 S CENTRAL EXPY, MCKINNEY, TX 75071, (888) 485-3971) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAS 21714536. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM NUMBER: 13N02. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.
THE BRAKES BECOME VERY SOFT AND GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. THEY WILL WORK BUT IN A VERY DELAYED FASHION. I'VE BEEN TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS AND ONE SAID RUST/DUST IN THEM AND THE OTHER ONE SAID NOTHING IS WRONG AFTER I EVEN PURCHASED NEW BRAKES. 3 FORD EDGE VEHICLES IN MY FAMILY AND ALL THREE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME U KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE

DOOR AJAR INDICATED WHEN DOOR IS SHUT. DOME LIGHT STAYS ON, BATTERY DIES, DOOR WILL NOT LOCK PROPERLY.
DRIVING DOWN THE 78 FREEWAY IN MY 2013 FORD EDGE SPORT WHEN MY GLASS PANORAMIC ROOFTOP VIOLENTLY EXPLODED SOUNDING LIKE A GUN GOING OFF IN MY CAR. LUCKILY WHEN I SWERVED IN FRIGHT NO ONE WAS NEXT TO ME SO NO ONE GOT HURT INCLUDING ME BUT IT WAS VERY SCARY.THIS HAPPENED ON MARCH 21 2019. IT IS A VERY EXPENSIVE FIX FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NOT HAPPEN AND NOT UNDER WARRANTY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE SAME DAY AND THEY WANTED ME TO GO THROUGH INSURANCE TO HAVE FIX. I AM SCARED IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN.
CAR WOULD PERIODICALLY SHUT DOWN AND I WOULD BE UNABLE TO ACCELERATE. WOULD HAVE TO PULL TO SIDE OF ROAD, SHUT ENGINE OFF AND RESTART CAR TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE. BECAME WORSE AND WORSE, RESEARCHED ONLINE AND DISCOVERED MANY OTHER PEOPLE WERE HAVING SAME ISSUES. FINALLY TOOK CAR TO MECHANIC, HAD TO HAVE THROTTLE BODY REPLACED WHICH COST $475.18 I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THIS IS NOT A RECALL ISSUE WITH FORD WHEN SO MANY PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE.
THE DRIVER'S SEAT ROCKS WHEN ACCELERATING OR BRAKING, AS IF IT HAS COME LOOSE. I HAVE TAKEN CAR TO MY MECHANIC TO HAVE IT REPAIRED, HE SAYS THERE IS NOTHING LOOSE FOR HIM TO TIGHTEN. HAS BEEN DOING THIS FOR THE LAST SEVERAL MONTHS.
THE DASH AREA WHERE THE PASSENGER AIR BAG IS LOCATED HAS BEGUN TO CRACK. THE ENTIRE RIGHT SIDE OF THE AIR BAG SQUARE HAS SEPARATED. ALSO, WHEN STOPPING THE VEHICLE AT A STOP LIGHT, IN TRAFFIC, ETC., THERE IS A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE, ESPECIALLY IF THE FUEL TANK IS LESS THAN FULL.
THE DRIVER DOOR SHOWS DOOR IS AJAR EVEN THOUGH DOOR IS CLOSED CAUSING DOORS NOT TO LOCK AND KEEPS INTERIOR LIGHTS ON WHEN CAR IS DRIVING MODE WHICH IS A HAZARD AT NIGHT AND DRAINS BATTERY WHEN CAR IS OFF.
FUEL IS LEAKING WHEN PUMPING GAS AND SMELL OF GAS IN THE CABIN?
THE "SERVICE ADVANCE TRACK" WARNING LIGHT CAME ON DISPLAY. FORD DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THAT THE ABS MODULE HAD TO BE REPLACED AND REPROGRAMMED. THEY SAID THE VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE UNTIL SERVICED. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE REPLACEMENT PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE AND WOULD TAKE MONTHS TO ARRIVE. THEY SAID SEVERAL OTHER VEHICLES (IN THAT AND IN OTHER DEALERSHIPS) WERE AWAITING FOR THE SAME ABS MODULE REPLACEMENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A CONSTANT FAILURE WITH THE TRANSMISSION GEAR SLIPPING OUT OF DRIVE. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF THE FAILURE MAY PROGRESS TO THE OTHER GEARS RENDERING THE RISK OF A POTENTIAL CATASTROPHIC CRASH. THE PROBLEM WAS GETTING WORSE TO THE POINT THAT THERE WAS A REDUCTION IN SPEED WHEN NEEDING TO PICK UP SPEED DUE TO A DELAY IN THE GEARS CHANGING OVER. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THREE DIFFERENT REPAIR FACILITY INDEPENDENT CERTIFIED MECHANICS FOR A TECHNICAL DIAGNOSIS AS TRANSMISSION SPECIALISTS. THE DEALER BORGMAN FORD (3150 28TH ST SW, GRANDVILLE, MI 49418, (616) 534-7651) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V393000 (POWER TRAIN) FOR THIS YEAR MODEL VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS NOT AUTHORIZED TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE YET UNTIL FURTHER GUIDANCE WAS PROVIDED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TRANSMISSION JERKING, SHUDDERING, STALLING, IN MOTION. SEAT BELT GET STOCK, CAMERA SOMETIMES WORKS, AND SOMETIMES DONT WORK.
ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. HAD IT HOOKED UP TO THE MACHINE AND IT IS SAYING GAS CAP. IT DOES NOT HAVE A GAS CAP
DRIVER SEAT ROCKS BACK AND FORTH WHEN ACCELERATING AND BRAKING. IT HAS BEEN DOING THIS PERIODICALLY FOR THE PAST YEAR. SEEMS TO BE A REGULAR COMPLAINT FOR THIS VEHICLE BUT THERE IS NOT A RECALL.

PTU WENT OUT WITH LESS THAN 59,000 MILES. VEHICLE STARTED MAKING HUMMING NOISE UPON ACCELERATION, THEN SMELL OF BURNING OIL/FLUID AT STOP LIGHTS. AFTER ABOUT 2 WEEKS IT STARTING MAKING A REALLY LOUD CLANKING NOISE THAT SOUNDED LIKE THE WHOLE POWERTRAIN WAS GOING TO FALL OUT. ALSO, COULD FEEL IT IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN IT GOT TO THAT POINT.

WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS OR WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THERE WAS A STRONG ODOR OF FUEL DETECTED INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND THE IGNITION FUEL WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AJAR WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED WHEN THE DOOR WAS COMPLETELY CLOSED. FURTHERMORE, THE PASSENGER DOOR DID NOT LOCK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JORDAN FORD (13010 I-35, LIVE OAK, TX 78233, (210) 653-3673) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL LINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BEFORE IT CAUGHT FIRE. ALSO, THE HALF SHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V002000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
PTO UNIT HAS BEGUN LEAKING OIL. THIS IS A WELL-DOCUMENTED ISSUE THAT FORD REFUSES TO ADDRESS. THE UNIT HAS NOT FAILED AS OF YET, BUT ALL RESEARCH SHOWS THAT I WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE CRITICAL REPAIRS PERFORMED OR I MIGHT FACE A SAFETY ISSUE WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THIS ISSUE IS NOT REPAIRABLE AS THE UNIT IS A MAINTENANCE FREE PART AND HAS NO ABILITY TO BE MAINTAINED BY NORMAL REPAIR PROCESSES.
VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN SHORT DISTANCE IN TOWN (LESS THAN 10 MILES IN 10-20 DEGREE WEATHER), NO WARNING LIGHTS NO OVERHEATING OR SMOKE. 10 MINUTES AFTER CAR WAS PARKED AND SHUT OFF, CAR IGNITED IN DRIVEWAY IN ENGINE. OIL HAD NEVER EVEN BEEN CHANGED SINCE BOUGHT USED FROM DEALER A FEW MONTHS PRIOR; HAD PUT ON LESS THAN 2000 MILES SINCE PURCHASED. TOTAL LOSS.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle or driving at various speeds, the door ajar warning light illuminated the rear passenger’s side door on multiple occasions. The contact stated that after closing the door, an audible alarm was heard, and the door ajar warning light remained illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the interior light remained illuminated after the vehicle was turned off, leading to the battery being drained. An independent mechanic went to the residence to replace the battery. The vehicle was then taken to a local dealer and the rear passenger’s side door latch was replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The door ajar alarm and warning light was illuminated for the rear passenger’s door and later caused the battery to drain again. An independent mechanic went to the residence and the battery was replaced. The vehicle was then taken back to the local dealer where the door latch was replaced again. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was unknown.
Brake pedal goes to the floor when you press on the breaks and you hear a sound as it happens
MY DAUGHTER LEFT FOR WORK AT 6 IN THE MORNING, IT WAS MINUS 25/30 WITH THE WIND CHILL. SHE WENT TO MAKE A LEFT TURN ON TO A MAIN STATE TRUCK ROUTE AND THE CAR STARTED TO SHAKE AND SHUTTER AND LOST ALL POWER. THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON TOO. AFTER THE CAR QUIT COMPLETELY IT THEN WAS RESTARTED. IT CONTINUED TO ACT UP. A FRIEND CHECKED IT AND HIS COMPUTER WAS SHOWING CODES FOR THE THROTTLE BODY AND SENSORS. IT IS NOW AT THE DEALERSHIP. I CALLED FORD AND WAS TOLD THERE IS NO RECALL OR EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THE ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD NOTE MY COMPLAINT AND IF IT IS EVER RECALLED OR OK'D FOR AND EXTENDED WARRANTY THEN THEY WOULD LET US KNOW AND SHE COULD BE REIMBURSED. WE LIVE OFF 2 STATE TRUCK ROUTES THAT ARE HEAVILY TRAVELED, BUT AS SHE IS A YOUNG FEMALE AT DARK WITH A VEHICLE THAT IS DARK AND THE ROAD IS ICY AND ITS COLD ENOUGH THAT SCHOOLS AND PLACES HAVE SHUT DOWN AND PEOPLE HAVE DIED FROM EXPOSURE IN THIS , I WILL NOT LOSE A CHILD BECAUSE FORD IS TO LAZY TO PULL THEIR HEAD OUTTA THEIR KEISTER AND START THINKING OLD SCHOOL AGAIN AND CONSIDER THEIR CUSTOMERS. FIX THE ISSUE! DON'T SWEEP IT UNDER THE RUG BECAUSE ITS EASIER THAN FACING YOUR "NEW STYLE" VEHICLES HAVE ISSUES. I HAVE NO USE FOR FORD. MY EXPEDITION, MY AUNTS EXPEDITION AND HER DAUGHTERS ESCAPE ALL DID THIS EXACT SAME THING. AT THIS MOMENT WE ARE WAITING TO HEAR FROM THE DEALERSHIP AS TO WHAT IS GOING ON. IF THIS SITE ALLOWS ME TO UPDATE I WILL. SHE WAS GOING APPROXIMATLY 30 MPH AND AS SHE PRESSED ON THE GAS PEDDLE IT SLOWLY DIED.
VEHICLE WITH 84K MILES NOTICED LEAKING OIL/LUBRICANT. DEALER DISCOVERED FAILING POWER TAKEOFF TRANSFER ASSEMBLY. DEALER ALSO INFORMED US THAT WHEN THE LUBRICANT IS LOST TO A CERTAIN POINT THE UNIT WILL FAIL CATASTROPHICALLY AND THE POWER TRAIN WILL SEIZE CAUSING ALL FOUR WHEELS TO LOCK UP. THIS CONSTITUTES A MAJOR ON ROAD SAFETY ISSUE. FURTHERMORE, WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED AND HAVE DISCOVERED IN ONLINE MEDIA THAT THIS ISSUE BEEN REPORTED WITH CONSIDERABLE FREQUENCY. YET, NO ACTION IS BEING TAKEN ON THE PART OF FORD MOTOR COMPANY. FORTUNATELY, IN THIS CASE IT WAS DISCOVERED BEFORE CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OCCURRED. THANK YOU.
TAKATA RECALL THIS IS THE SECOND TIME MY 2013 FORD EDGE LIMITED HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM, TWO YEARS AGO WE HAD TO SPEND $650 ON GETTING OUR DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH NOW OUR PASSENGER DOOR LATCH IS DOING THE SAME THING WHEN WE ARE DRIVING THE DOOR WILL JUST FLY OPEN WITH NO TYPE OF WARNING. SOMETIMES BEFORE WE START DRIVING IT WILL SAY DRIVER DOOR OPEN. IVE READ MULTIPLE REPORTS OF THIS HAPPENING AND FORD IS YET TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. MY WIFE COULD FALL OUT WHILE I AM DRIVING OR VISE VERSA. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE SOMEONE WINDS UP DEAD AND FORD HAS A LAWSUIT ON THERE HAND.
WHEN SHIFTING IN PARK THE CAR DOESN'T RECOGNIZE THAT IT'S IN PARK IN ORDER TO SHUT THE CAR OFF . AFTER TRYING TO TURN CAR OFF THE SHIFT TO PARK LIGHT STAYS ON. I HAVE TO WIGGLE THE GEARSHIFT TO LET IT RECOGNIZE IT IN PARK OR RESTART THE CAR AND MOVE GEARSHIFT BACK IN TO PARK. WIGGLE THE GEAR SHIFT TO LET IT RECOGNIZE IT'S IN PARK OR RESTART THE CAR AND MOVE GEARSHIFT BACK INTO PARK.
THE CAR DOES NOT DETECT THE PARKING SHIFT
THE POWER TAKE OFF UNIT HAD TO BE REPLACED. UNIT WAS LEAKING OIL. NOTICED ISSUE AFTER CAR WAS STATIONARY

FRONT DRIVER DOOR AJAR SIGNAL. WHEN STARTING THE CAR, THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR SIGNAL APPEARS WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED. ENGINE ON SIGNAL APPEARS, INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ON, SHIFT INTO PARK SIGNAL APPEARS. DOOR LOCKS DO NOT ENGAGE WHILE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN. SAFETY IS COMPROMISED WITH UNLOCKED DOORS WHILE DRIVING. CLEANING OF CONTACTS DOES NOT ALLEVIATE PROBLEM. FORD MOTOR COMPANY SHOULD RECALL OR REPAIR VEHICLES REGARDLESS OF WARRANTY.
ENGINE LIGHT ON, DIAGNOSTIC TEST SHOWS GAS VAPOR ESCAPING (LEAK) CODE P0456 WHILE DRIVING
DOOR LATCH SENSORS, DOOR AJAR WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED AND FULLY LATCHED. DOOR WILL NOT LOCK WHEN YOU START DRIVING AND WHEN YOU DO START DRIVING WHILE THE DOOR AJAR IS ON IT KEEPS TELLING YOU TO SHIFT INTO PARK. YOU ALSO CAN'T LOCK THE CAR WITH KEYLESS ENTRY BECAUSE IT SAYS DOOR AJAR.
ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 9, 2019, MY 2013 FORD EDGE REPORTED AN "OVERHEATED COOLANT" MESSAGE AND WITHIN 2 SECONDS THE ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED, THE CAR IMMEDIATELY LOST THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE AND BEGAN DECELERATING WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH ON A BUSY ROAD DURING NIGHT TIME RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. THIS ENDANGERED MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OTHER MOTORISTS THAT HAD TO QUICKLY AVOID HITTING MY CAR. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO APPLE FORD DEALERSHIP IN COLUMBIA MD AND THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED ME THE INTERNAL WATER PUMP HAD FAILED THAT DIRECTLY IMPACTED THE CAR PERFORMANCE ISSUES AND THE GRINDING NOISE. TO FIX THE WATER PUMP, HE STATED IT WOULD TAKE 17 LABOR HOURS TO REPAIR IT DUE TO HOW FORD DESIGNED THE WATER PUMP BEHIND THE ENGINE. ALSO, THIS REPAIR IS CAUSING ENGINE PROBLEMS. BOTTOM LINE HERE IS THAT THIS FLAWED DESIGNED IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND FORD SHOULD RECALL THE FORD EDGE TO FIX THIS WATER PUMP PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR DIES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST ACCELERATION. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND THEN DROVE TO DON VANCE FORD (14897 MO-38, MARSHFIELD, MO 65706). THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER TRANSFER UNIT FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STARTED TO LEAK OIL EVER SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED IN JUNE OF 2017. THE OIL LEAK HAS WORSENED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 154,802.
STATIONARY 2013 FORD EDGE DRIVERS DOOR LATCH FREEZES AND WILL NOT UNLOCK. WHEN I DO GET THE DOOR OPEN FROM OTHER SIDE IT WON'T CLOSE AND LATCH. I HAVE TO REPEATEDLY SLAM DOOR HARD TO GET IT TO LATCH. FORD GARAGE IN PAST LUBRICATES THE LATCH INSIDE THE DOOR BUT IT'S A TEMPORARY FIX. DEALING WITH THIS EVERY YEAR.
AS I WAS DRIVING THE TRANSMISSION DISENGAGED AND WOULD NOT GO BACK INTO GEAR. AFTER TOWING TO THE DEALERSHIP IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE HALF SHAFT/CV AXLE WAS MALFUNCTIONING. THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE WITH 2012-14 FORD EDGE BUT BECAUSE MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL I WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRS.
THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE AND CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM HAS BECOME INTERMITTENT, UNDEPENDABLE AND DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING. THERE IS NO WAY TO TELL WHEN IT IS WOKING OR NOT AND TO DEPEND ON IT IS ASKING FOR DISASTER. THE DEALER DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE A CLUE AS TO WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RAYMOND CHEVROLET (118 IL-173, ANTIOCH, IL 60002, (800) 989-5939) WHERE THEY STATED THERE WAS A LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THE FUEL PUMP MODULE, FILLER HOLE, AND FUEL TANK, WHICH WERE REPLACED. AFTER THE REPAIR, THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED TO PROVIDE ACCURATE READINGS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, WHICH RESULTED IN A DISPUTE ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT THE FUEL GAUGE INDICATOR WAS DAMAGED BY THE MECHANIC. THE DEALER THREATENED TO CHARGE THE CONTACT FOR THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 220,000.
PASSENGER DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ON WHEN DOOR IS SHUT. THE DOORS WILL NOT STAY LOCKED BECAUSE OF THIS. UNSAFE TO STOP AT LIGHT OR PARKING AS ANYONE CAN OPEN THE PASSENGER DOOR AND GET IN. DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR FIXED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY YRS AGO- SAME ISSUE NOW AGAIN. DRIVER POWER SEAT ROCKS BACKWARDS WHEN GETTING IN OR IF SOLID STOPS- VERY UNSAFE AS YOU ARE NOT IN CONTROL OF CAR WHEN IT'S ROCKING- FEARFUL THAT IT WILL BRAKE LOOSE. QUOTE FROM DEALER WAS $1600! I PAID EXTRA WHEN BUYING CAR FOR LEATHER AND POWER SEATS- THEY SHOULD NOT BREAK AND SHOULD BE COVERED BY FORD
PARK LIGHT INDICATION NIT WORKING WHEN PUTTING CAR IN PARK. WHEN SHAFTING INTO PARK, THE INDICATOR ON DASH DIES NIT SHOW P. IT DOESN'T SHOW ANY TRANSMISSION SETTING. IF I TURN CAR OFF, AN ERROR APPEARS SAYING TO SHIFT CAR INTO PARK. DRYING FIRST FEW MONTHS, I COULD TOGGLE THE SHIFT PUTT ON OR WIGGLE THE SHUFFLE CONTROL AND THE LIGHT INDICATING PARK WOULD APPEAR THUS ALLOWING ME TO TURN CAR OFF WITHOUT ALARM. IT IS BECOMING INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT TO GET THE LIGHT TO APPEAR AFTER PLACING THE LEVER IN PARK. AT TIMES, I MUST RESTART THE CAR IF I HAVE TURNED IGNITION OFF , RESHIFT AND HOPE IT RECIGNUZES THE PARK SETTING. SINCE THE LIGHT IS INCREASINGLY NOT LIGHTING WHEN IN PARK, IT'S A GUESSING GAME WHEN THRNING CAR OFF. IF IT ISN'T RECOGNUZED (ALTHOUGH SHIFT IS IN PARK) I CANNOT FULLY TURN OFF CAR. ONCE RECOGNIZED IN PARK (WITH OR WITHOUT LIGHT), THE CAR TURNS OFF AS IT SHOULD AND SEAT MOVES BACK AND NO WARNINGS OCCUR. I HAVE RESEARCHED A BIT, IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM BUT FORD WANTS HUNDREDS IF DOLLARS TO REPAIR. I AM NOT SURE IF CAR US IN PARK OR NIT ANY LONGER
THE DRIVER'S DOOR SAYS 'DOOR AJAR' WHEN IT IS CLOSED. THEN, MY 2013 FORD EDGE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON WHILE DRIVING. I TRY TO OPEN AND CLOSE THE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES AS WELL LOCK AND UNLOCK THE DOOR. AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES OF TRYING - I CAN GET IT TO TURN OFF. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR OVER 2 MONTHS!
MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT THE POWER TAKE OFF UNIT WAS LEAKING AND NEEDED REPACE. FAILURE TO DO SO WOULD ENDANGER ME SINCE CAR TRANSMISSION WOULD FAIL. MECHANIC STATED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH FORD PTO UNITS, HOWEVER FORD REFUSES TO RECALL AUTO TO REPAIR PROBLEM
ANTI-LOCK ELECTRONIC CONTROL AND MODULE.A MONTH AFTER FORD CHANGE MY BRAKES BOOSTER, THE SAME PROBLEM STARTED AGAIN, NOW THEY SAID IS THE ANTI-LOCK EECTRONIC CONTROL AND MODULE. BEEN WAITING FOR 1 MONTH FOR A PART THAT APPARENTLY BREAKS MORE THAN USUAL AND DEALER TELLS ME THAT THEY HAVE AROUND 5 MORE CARS WAITING FOR THE SAME PART THAT IS NOT IN STOCK ANYWHERE. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER, FORD IS MAKING CHANGES TO THE MODULE AND THEY DO NOT KNOW WHEN THE PART WILL BE AVAILABLE .AGAIN.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2013 FORD EDGE THE BRAKE SYSTEM ON MY VEHICLE BEGAN TO FAIL ON THE HIGHWAY. WHEN APPLYING PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL THE BRAKES BECAME VERY HARD, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED TO THE FLOOR BUT THE CAR WAS STILL MOVING FORWARD. THERE WAS ALSO A HISSING SOUND COMING FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL. I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, THE SEAT WARMER FOR THE DRIVER SEAT WAS ON, AND THE CAR LUNGED FORWARD AND THEN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AUTOMATICALLY. THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND INDICATED LOW OIL AND TO PLACE THE CAR IN PARK. I PLACED THE CAR IN PARK, TURNED OFF THE KEY IN THE IGNITION. I THEN TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AND THE WARNING LIGHT WAS OFF ALONG WITH THE SEAT WARMER. I HAVE TO BELIEVE THIS WAS RELATED TO THE BRAKING ISSUE CREATING A POSSIBLE VACUUM LOSS THROUGH THE FAILED BRAKE BOOSTER SYSTEM AND INCREASING THE RPM'S. THE BRAKE BOOSTER SYSTEM IN MY CAR WAS REPAIRED (84,189 MILES) AT TIRES PLUS AT A COST OF $700 AND THE LOSS OF MY VEHICLE FOR TWO DAYS. THE SERVICE ADVISOR AT TIRES PLUS CALLED A LOCAL FORD DEALER SERVICE ADVISOR AND AFTER PROVIDING THE VIN# FOR MY CAR WAS ADVISED IT WAS NOT COVERED ALTHOUGH THIS IS A KNOW ISSUE AND A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN / CSPN1302 HAS BEEN ISSUED AND AMENDED WITH SUPPLEMENT #1. FORD MOTOR COMPANY NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS BY EITHER INCLUDING/EXTENDING THE CURRENT CSP 13N02 OR A RECALL TO REIMBURSE AUTO OWNERS THAT ARE DEALING WITH THE FAILING BRAKE BOOSTERS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT IS NOT GOING AWAY.
I BOUGHT MY FORD EDGE FROM A DEALERSHIP AND 4 DAYS AFTER HAVING IT I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY IN THE RAIN AND THE BACK SUNROOF SHATTERED FOR NO KNOWN REASON. I TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT'S INCONCLUSIVE TO WHY IT BROKE
WHEN I HIT THE BRAKE HARD OR BRAKE OVER A BUMPY ROAD THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR AND SQUEAKING NOISE CAN BE HEARD. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP FOR TESTING AND REPAIR AND THEY SAID THE PROBLEM IS SO COMMON THAT THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE AND ON BACK ORDER. WHILE THE CAR EVENTUALLY STOPS, IT IS A HAZARD BECAUSE IF IT FAILS YOU HAVE TO AVOID REAR ENDING A CAR IN FRONT OF YOU THAT IS STOPPED. THIS SOMETIMES RESULTS IN SWERVING OFF THE ROAD TO AVOID HITTING THAT PERSON. THIS IS A MANUFACTURER FLAW.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated that on various occasions while reversing, the rearview camera intermittently failed to display. The contact then stated that the failure recurred while reversing and the rearview image was distorted and then a "Camera Unavailable, Please Contact Your Dealer" message was displayed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who made the contact aware of a rearview camera extended warranty; however, the VIN was not included, and the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a rearview camera class action lawsuit, and advised her to file a complaint with the NHTSA hotline. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
BRAKE BOOSTER/DIAPHRAGM ISSUE, KNOWN ISSUE IN OTHER EDGE MODELS. HISSING NOISE WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, SPONGY BRAKE FEEL TURNING TO EXCESSIVE FOOT PRESSURE NEEDED TO STOP THE CAR AND, AFTER STOPPING, BRAKE PEDAL CAN BE PUSHED TO THE FLOOR. THIS ISSUE FIRST OCCURRED DURING CITY DRIVING AND PROGRESSIVELY GOT WORSE.
