TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER ENTERING THE VEHICLE AND CLOSING THE DOOR, THE DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BELL COLE FORD LINCOLN LOCATED AT (2119 GREENUP AVE, ASHLAND, KY 41101) WHERE THE DOOR LATCHES WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.

BRAKE BOOSTER FAILURE. 2013 FORD EDGE SPORT. I HEAR A HISSING COMING FROM MY BRAKE PEDAL WHEN IT IS DEPRESSED. ALSO THE PEDAL IS EITHER HARD TO DEPRESS AND/OR WILL FADE TO THE FLOOR. WHEN I NOTICED THE FAILURE I WAS TRAVELING IN CITY TRAFFIC. I NEARLY REAR ENDED A VEHICLE, TRYING TO GET MY VEHICLE TO STOP. I SAW THERE WAS A CUSTOMER SERVICE PROGRAM # 13N02 FOR 2010-2013 FORD EDGE'S. FOR SOME REASON MINE WAS NOT INCLUDED, BUT HAS FAILED THE EXACT SAME WAY. I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF THE REPAIR.
TAKATA RECALL MY 2013 FORD EDGE HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH THE DOOR. IT CONSTANTLY TELLS ME MY DOOR IS OPEN WHEN IT IS IN FACT CLOSED. THE LIGHTS STAY ON AND IF I TRY TO DRIVE THE CAR IT GIVES ME A WARNING SAYING SHIFT TO PARK AND THAT THE DOOR IS OPEN. IT'S BEEN HAPPENING CONTINUSLY AND SOMETIMES THE DOOR WON'T LOCK AT ALL. IT NORMALLY HAPPENS WHEN I'M IN PARK BUT AS OF RECENTLY IT'S HAPPENED AS IM DROVING. I'M ALSO HAVING ISSUES WITH MY BRAKES HITTING THE FLOOR AND MY CAR EXCELLERATING INSTEAD OF SLOWING DOWN WHEN THE BRAKES ARE PRESSED...THIS NORMALLY HAPPENS ON A FREEWAY WHEN I'M DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS.
I HAVE A 2013 FORD EDGE, BRAKES GO TO FLOOR BUT NOT ALL THE TIME. 1 ST TIME I HAD BOOSTER DONE UNDER RECALL DEC 2016 MILEAGE 59080, 2 ND OCT 2017 BRAKES DID IT AGAIN MILEAGE 66982, PUT ANOTHER BOOSTER IN UNDER RECALL. DEC 2017 MILEAGE 68078 HAPPEN AGAIN, THIS TIME THE DEALER CHECK OUT THE HOLD BRAKE SYSTEM (THE SLIDE, CALIBERS ETC.) EVERYTHING OK. JUNE 2018 HAPPEN AGAIN MILEAGE 71926 . I DID HAVE AN AUTO REPAIRMAN TRY AND IT WENT TO THE FLOOR ON HIM AS WELL. I SPOKE WITH FORD ABOUT IT FORD GAVE ME A CASE # CAS- 15014600 SAID I NEEDED A DEALER TO CHECK IT AGAIN. I WENT TO PRIME FORD IN AUBURN MA (THE SAME AS THE OTHER 3 TIMES), THEY CHECKED IT AND COULD NOT FIND AND THING WRONG, THEY ASKED ME TO LEAVE IT FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS WHICH I DID AND THEY STILL COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. I KNOW IT IS NOT THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER BECAUSE WHEN THEY CHANGED THE BOOSTER THEY WOULD HAVE NOTICE LEAKAGE. PRIME HAS GONE OVER THE WHOLE BRAKE SYSTEM MADE SURE EVERYTHING WORKS OK. MY PROBLEM IS YOU DON'T KNOW WHEN THIS WILL HAPPEN, I LOOKED ON CAR PROBLEM SITE AND SAW WHERE THE FORD EDGE HAS HAD OVER 300 BRAKE PROBLEMS AND SOME OF THE THOSE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. BUT WHAT HAPPENS NOW IF YOU NEED TO STOP REAL QUICK AND IT HAPPENS? CAR WAS MOVING AROUND 30 - 35M/H WHEN YOU GO TO STOP.
I WAS TRAVELING ON HWY 441 UP A STEEP HILL AND TRIED TO PASS A TRUCK.THE CAR COMPLETELY LOST POWER. I WAS NEARLY REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER CAR. ON JUNE 7, 2018 BETWEEN ENTERPRISE, AL. AND MONTGOMERY AL. I WAS ATTEMPTING TO LEGALLY PASS ANOTHER CAR AND THE CAR AGAIN COMPLETELY LOST POWER ALMOT CAUSING A FRONT END COLLISION WITH ANOTHER CAR AT 65 MILES AN HOUR. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED IF FORD DOES NOT FIX MY CAR. I HOPE IT IS NOT YOUR FAMILY.
"DOOR AJAR" LIGHT ON DASH REMAINS ON EVEN WHEN DOORS SHUT SECURELY. THIS CAUSES INSIDE LIGHTS TO REMAIN ON, AND BUZZER TO BUZZ. PROBLEM CONTINUES DURING VEHICLE IN USE
DRIVER DOOR AJAR WARNING EVEN THOUGH DOOR IS CLOSED. OCCURS WHILE STATIONARY AND WHILE IN MOTION. PREVENTS DRIVERS DOOR FROM BEING LOCKED WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION PRESENTING A SAFETY HAZARD TO THE DRIVER.
DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT REMAINS ON EVEN THOUGH DOOR IS COMPLETELY CLOSED
THE SENSOR ON THE BACK DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR IS MAKING IT APPEAR THE DOOR IS AJAR WHEN IT IS NOT. THIS CAUSES THE DOME LIGHT TO STAY ON AND IS AFFECTING THE ALARM ON THE CAR.
MY CAR KEEPS SAYING PASSENGER DOOR IS OPEN. BUT IT IS NOT OPEN.I AM AFRAID THIS WILL DRAIN MY BATTERY SO I DISCONNECT MY BATTERY WHEN AT WORK AND AT HOME.
FOR THE SECOND TIME SINCE BUYING THE CAR NEW THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT WILL NO GO OFF.
THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER HAS FAILED AT 69000 MILES. THIS FAILURE IS CONSISTENT WITH FAILURES FORD HAS FIXED ON THE FORD EDGE MANUFACTURED PRIOR TO MARCH 28, 2013. MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED IN MAY OF 2013. I DO NOT FEEL THAT FORD RESOLVED THE ISSUE WITH THE BRAKE BOOSTER FAILURE. THIS CREATES A DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITION WITH THE LARGE AMOUNT OF PRESSURE REQUIRED TO STOP THE CAR. IN SEVERAL CASES, I WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE CARE SAFELY. FORD ISSUED A SERVICE NOTIFICATION FOR THE VEHICLES MANUFACTURES PRIOR TO MARCH 28, 2013, - 13N02. I FEEL THAT THE ISSUE WAS NOT ADDRESSED AND CONTINUES PAST THAT DATE.
THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR ON THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT GO OFF WHEN SHUTTING THE DOOR. IT HAS BEEN DOING THIS FOR A MONTH NOW. IT POSES A SAFETY RISK TO CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT WHO MAY OPEN A UNLOCKED DOOR NOW BECAUSE OF THIS SENSOR FAILING TO OPERATE BECAUSE OF FORDS HORRIBLE ENGINEERING
BACKED OUT OF DRIVEWAY AND HAD TO PUMP/FLOOR BRAKES TO GET STOPPED! ON MAIN STREET IN FRONT OF A SCHOOL! NEW BRAKES HAD BEEN PUT ON A COUPLE MONTHS PRIOR. HAD THEM CHECKED BY MECHANIC THAT PUT THEM ON.
THE " DOOR AJAR " SWITCH IN THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR IS MALFUNCTIONING. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM IN A LOT OF FORD EDGES. IT IS NOT EASY TO REPLACE AS THE DOOR HAS TO BE COMPLETELY TAKEN APART. COST ESTIMATE IS $400. TO REPLACE A $80 PART. BAD DESIGN. FORD SHOUL DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS.
FIRST MY ENGINE LIGHT WAS FLASHING WHEN ACCELERATING ONTO FREEWAY, THEN EVENTUALLY STAYED SOLID. CODE CAME BACK AS AIR SENSORS. I REPLACED O SENSORS UP AND DOWN LEAN BANK 2S, AND THE BRAKE BOOSTER WENT OUT ON ME COMPLETELY, FOLLOWED BY CAR STALLING EVERYTIME BRAKE WAS APPLIED FOR LONGER THEN 15 SECONDS ON AND OFF . LONG STORY SHORT PAID 2,000 ON REPAIRS. THEN ALL THE SUDDEN ENGINE LIGHTS BACK ON FOLLOWED BY LOW TONE RUMBLE AND POWER LOSS WHEN ACCELERATING TO FAST. I ALREADY REPLACED SPARK PLUGS AND COIL PACKS ALL 6, AIR FILTER AND HAD 3 OIL CHANGES. SAD PART JUST PURCHASED THE CAR 7 MONTHS AGO. HAVOC MODULE TO CHANGE AC TO HEAT ALSO WENT OUT ON BOTH SIDES BUT I DISCONNECTED AN RECONNECTED BOX ON BOTH SIDES TO FIX MYSELF .DON'T KNOW IF IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE ON AIR PRESSURE NEEDED FOR ENGINE.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AJAR SWITCH ON MY 2013 FORD EDGE IS MALFUNCTIONING. THE SENSOR BELIEVES THE DOOR IS OPEN EVEN WHEN IT CLOSED, AND IT DOES NOT ALLOW THE DOORS TO BE LOCKED WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. I HAVE CHILDREN AND THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A SAFETY CONCERN. THE MALFUNCTIONING SENSOR ALSO KEEPS THE DOME LIGHTS ON CONSTANTLY DRAINING THE BATTERY AND WILL LIKELY LEAVE US STRANDED WITH A DEAD BATTERY. MULTIPLE SAFETY CONCERNS HERE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEEDS, THE BRAKES SEIZED AND THE VEHICLE MADE AN ABNORMAL SOUND WHEN ACCELERATING. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. IN ADDITION, THE DOOR AJAR WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED EVEN WHEN ALL THE DOORS WERE CLOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET AN OIL CHANGE AND TIRES ROTATED. THEY SAID I NEEDED REAR BRAKES . APPOINTMENT WAS MADE FOR 2 DAYS LATER. WHEN I DROVE THE CAR HOME AFTER THE OIL CHANGE, THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON AND WILL NOT TURN OFF. I TOLD THE SERVICE ADVISOR ABOUT THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT . IT IS STILL ON.
FRONT DRIVER DOOR CLOSED SENSOR INTERMITTENTLY NOT WORKING AND BECOMING MORE FREQUENT. WHILE DRIVING IT SAYS THE DOOR IS OPEN
SUV WON'T CRANK WHEN IT'S TOO HOT (ABOVE 90 DEGREES). EVERY SUMMER I HAVE THIS PROBLEM. SOMETIMES IT WILL CRANK IF I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL.
I PURCHASED THIS CAR USED. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT OR EARLY MORNING HOURS. I SEE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET AND SALESMAN ACKNOWLEDGES THAT THESE ARE KNOWN FOR THIS BUT FORD WON'T STAND BEHIND IT. NOW I'M STRUGGLING TO FIND A WAY TO RESOLVE THIS.
WHEN PLACING VEHICLE IN PARK, WARNING INDICATES TRANSMISSION IS STILL IN DRIVE GEAR AND UNABLE TO SAFELY SHUT DOWN ENGINE. THIS PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT AND OCCURS WHEN REVERSE WAS LAST DRIVE GEAR USED. FREQUENCY OF THE PROBLEM IS ABOUT 1 IN 50. EACH TIME IT IS REQUIRED TO RESTART VEHICLE AND PLACE TRANSMISSION INTO DRIVE THEN BACK TO PARK TO CORRECT. DUE TO USE OF HAND BRAKE THERE HAS BEEN NO INSTANCES OF THE VEHICLE MOVING UNCONTROLLED.
1. DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ON UNLOCKING THE DOORS EVEN THOUGH ALL DOORS ARE SHUT COMPLETELY. THIS HAPPENS WHEN CAR STARTS AND AFTER CAR IS IN MOTION! 2. CONTROL BUTTON ON LEFT SIDE OF STEERING WHEEL NOT RESPONDING. AFTER 2 OIL CHANGES, NO ONE CAN RESET THE OIL LIFE. 3. NOT ABLE TO RUN SYNC VEHICLE REPORT. ALL OF THESE ISSUES ARE SPORADIC AND ONGOING!
WHILE PUTTING ON THE BRAKES AND TURNING, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY DOWN AND STAYED LIKE THIS FOR QUITE SOME TIME. IT STILL BRAKES BUT IT PULLS TO THE RIGHT WHEN DONE SO. IT IS VERY ANNOYING, BUT IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD. I HEARD THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS ACTION BUT WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED. THIS IS DEFINITELY A FACTORY DEFECT AND I WOULD HATE TO GET IN A COURT ACTION WITH FORD IF ANYTHING HAPPENS. THIS MYSTERY HAPPENED TWICE SO FAR.
THE VEHICLE STARTED SENSING THE DOOR WAS OPEN WHEN IT WAS NOT. BECAUSE OF THIS MY SECURITY SYSTEM ACTIVATES OVER AND OVER. ON JANUARY 2, 2018 THIS HAPPENED WHILE PARKED AWAY FROM HOME AND IT DEPLETED THE BATTERY WHICH IS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD. THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE WAS NEAR ZERO DEGREES AND I WAS STRANDED FOR ABOUT A HALF HOUR IN SUB ZERO TEMPERATURES. I AM 60 YEARS OLD AND SUFFER FROM DIABETES, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE AND CANCER OF THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM AND THIS BECAME A DANGEROUS, LIFE THREATENING SITUATION. SINCE JANUARY 2, 2018 MY CAR HAS REPEATEDLY RUN THE BATTERY DOWN WHEN SENSING THE DOOR OPEN AND SETTING THE ALARM SYSTEM ACTIVE, REPEATEDLY AND FOR HOURS WHEN I'M NOT AROUND. AFTER MONTHS OF THIS I DISCOVERED TODAY THAT MY HORN FAILED WHEN IN TRAFFIC AND HEAVY RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS AND I WAS UNABLE TO ALERT A CAR PULLING INTO MY RIGHT OF WAY THAT I WAS THERE. THIS GETS MORE AND MORE DANGEROUS EVERY MONTH, FROM NEARLY FREEZING TO DEATH, TO NEARLY MANGLED ON A US HIGHWAY IN NORTHWEST INDIANA SOMETHING NEEDS ADDRESSING BY FORD AS THIS SEEMS TO BE A CONSTANT PROBLEM IN THE FORD EDGE VEHICLES. THESE PROBLEMS HAVE DEVELOPED MORE OFTEN OVER THE LAST YEAR BUT I DISCOVERED THE HORN PROBLEM TODAY IN A POSSIBLY LIFE THREATENING INCIDENT AT 50 MPH IN RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS.
A LOUD GRINDING NOISE WHEN I BRAKE. SOUNDS LIKE IT'S COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. IT IT INTERMITTENT SO WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE NOISE.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN DOORS ARE DEFINITELY SHUT TIGHT. SOMETIMES THE DOOR LOCKS WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY LOCK WHEN THE CAR IS PUT IN DRIVE. SOMETIMES THE DOME LIGHTS STAY ON WHICH CAN BE A PROBLEM AT NIGHT.
VEHICLE'S FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH WARRANTY COVERAGE, SPOKE TO SEVERAL FORD SUPERVISORS THEY TOLD ME THEY SENT OUT A LETTER TO COVER THAT ISSUE AND I SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED IT IN DECEMBER 2019 WHICH I DID NOT RECEIVE TILL JANUARY 27TH 2020 THE LETTER CLEARLY SHOWS THE JANUARY 2020 DATE. HENCE MY MILES ARE OVER THE MILEAGE THAT THE LETTER STATES. NO FORD SUPERVISORS WILL OVER RIDE THE 245 MILES I HAVE OVER, SO I HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT MYSELF. I STARTED FIGHTING THIS ISSUE 4 YEARS AGO. IT'S IRONIC THAT I GET THE LETTER AND NOW THEY WON'T COVER IT. SO ONCE AGAIN IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THE DOORS WON'T LOCK, LEAVING MY GRANDCHILD VULNERABLE TO ANYONE WHO CAN OPEN THE DOOR WHILE STOPPED OR PARKED OR HE MAY OPEN THE DOOR WHILE THE VEHICLE IS MOVING AND GET INJURED.
UNEXPECTED LOSS OF POWER AND WRENCH AND PARKING SHIFT MESSAGES SHOWN ON MY SUV DISPLAY. ON 03312018 MY FORD EDGE SPORT AWD 2013 SURPRISED ME WHEN AN UNEXPECTED LOSS OF POWER HAPPEN DURING AN SLOW MOTION IN A SECONDARY ROAD. UNABLE TO MANAGE MY VEHICLE I STOP AT THE NEAREST GAS STATION USING THE SLOPE BACKWARDS IN NEUTRO SHIFT UNTIL REACH THE GAS STATION BEHIND ME. THEN WHEN STOP I BEGAN TO READ VEHICLE BOOK AND SHUT DOWN THE VEHICLE AS RECOMMENDED. AFTER 30 MINS I RESTART THE VEHICLE AND THE LOSS POWER DISAPPEAR REASON WHY I DECIDE TO RETURN BACK TO MY HOME. WHEN I ENTER TO THE CONSUMER REPORT PAGE FROM MY PC AT HOME TO REQUEST INFO FOR ANY RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE I FIND OUT THAT A RECALL NUMBER EXIST FOR THIS TYPE OF SUV. THE RECALL NUMBER IS 14S10 SINCE AUGUST2014 BUT I NEVER HAS BEEN ADVISED. FEW MONTH AGO I WENT TO THE DEALER FOR A REVIEW OF A PROBLEM BUT THEY DID NOTHING AND SAID THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN PERFECT CONDITION AVOIDING THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO TELL ME ABOUT ANY RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. I STILL EXPERIMENTING THE SAME SITUATION SINCE 03312018, RISKING MY LIFE AND THE LIFE OF OTHER PEOPLE IN THE ROAD AS MY SUV CONTINUES WITHOUT LOSING POWER BUT TAKEN THE PERTINENT PRECAUTION. I STILL VERY WORRY AS THE CONSUMER REPORT STATED THAT IN ADDITION THIS FAILURE MAY CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO ROLL AWAY IF THE PARKING BRAKE IS NOT APPLIED DESPITE THE TRANSMISSION BEING PLACED IN PARK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE BRAKE BOOSTER POWER SEIZED AND THE DRIVER WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DENTON FORD (LOCATED AT 1207 DOUBLE HILLS RD, DENTON, MD 21629, 877-861-7041) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. I WAS DRIVING MY 2013 FORD EDGE IN TOWN 30 MPH ON A FOUR LANE ROAD WHEN THE ENGINE JUST DIED. I AM LUCKY I WAS NOT ON A BUSY HIGHWAY COULD HAVE END BADLY. FORD KNOWS OF THIS PROBLEM BUT WILL NOT HAVE A RECALL.

THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL SLIGHTLY AND THE VEHICLE RAPIDLY LUNGED FORWARD INDEPENDENTLY. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT STRUCK THE DASHBOARD AND WAS INJURED. MY VEHICLE FORD EGGE 2013 WHILE I AM DRIVING SHUTS DOWN AT ANY MILLEAGE
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, CAR LOST POWER AT AROUND 80 MPH. MY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN GOING UP AN INCLINE AND TAKES A WHILE TO PICK UP ANY SPEED. THIS HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY WITH MY WIFE AND MY 1 YEAR OLD WHICH IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS
DRIVER SIDE DOOR ADJAR WARNING LIGHT WILL NOT GO OUT.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME.
GEAR CASE IS TOO CLOSE TO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND THE GEAR FLUID IS HEATING UP AND BLOWING OUT OF THE BREATHER TUBE. GEAR CASE HOLDS 12 OZ OF FLUID AND NO WAY TO TELL HOW MUCH IS STILL LEFT INSIDE. COULD DAMAGE THE TRANSMISSION. I WAS TOLD BY THE FORD DEALERSHIP THAT THIS EQUIPMENT SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO BE FIXED OR REPLACED. IT IS A FORD DESIGN FLAW. FORD COMPANY WILL NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE STALLS NUMEROUS TIMES WITHOUT WARNING AND YOU LOSE ALL CONTROL.
THE "DOOR AJAR" LIGHT AND CHIME WON'T TURN OFF, EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR IS DEFINITELY CLOSED. THE FOB WON'T OPEN THE DOOR. THE OVERHEAD COURTESY LIGHTS STAY ON WHEN THE IGNITION IS OFF BECAUSE THE ELECTRONICS INDICATE THE DOOR IS OPEN. THIS DRAINS THE BATTERY. THIS PROBLEM FIRST OCCURRED AROUND 2015, WHILE THE CAR WAS IN ITS BUMPER TO BUMPER PHASE. THEY FIXED IT LICKITY SPLIT. NOW, IN ITS EXTENDED FORD WARRANTY, YOU CAN LIKELY GUESS, IT ISN'T COVERED. FOR $486 THEY CAN PUT A NEW LOCK SENSOR IN THE DOOR. GUARANTEED TO BE MY LAST FORD PRODUCT.
DOOR LATCH CLOSED SENSOR NOT WORKING. WELL DOCUMENTED ISSUE AMONGST THOUSANDS OF FORD OWNERS. DOOR EITHER WILL NOT REGISTER AS CLOSED, OR WILL APPEAR TO HAVE COME OPEN WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING INTERIOR LIGHTS TO COME ON AT NIGHT, DOORS NOT TO LOCK PROPERLY, BATTERY TO DRAIN OVER NIGHT, ETC. THIS ISSUE WAS A RECALL FOR FORD SEVERAL YEARS BACK ON DIFFERENT MODELS BUT THEY ARE NOT BEING RECALLED ANYMORE AND THIS NEEDS TO BE CHANGED, IT IS A MAJOR CONCERN. FOR ME IT HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS, STEADILY GETTING WORSE.
WHILE IT STARTS INTERMITTENTLY, THE 'DOOR AJAR' LIGHT IS COMING ON ' AND STAYING ON EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS CERTAINLY CLOSED. OVER TIME THERE IS NO AMOUNT OF DOOR SLAMMING THAT CAN GET THAT WARNING LIGHT TO SHUT OFF. IT'S MOST LIKELY AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE RELATED TO THE SWITCH INSIDE THE LATCH MECHANISM. WHILE THE DOOR WILL MECHANICALLY LATCH, ISSUES WITH THE SWITCH MAKE THE DOOR APPEAR TO BE OPEN TO THE CAR'S ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (ECU). IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THE VEHICLE IS IN PARK, DRIVE, NEUTRAL, REVERSE. THE LIGHT STILL REMAINS ON WHEN ATTEMPTING TO CLOSE THE DOOR. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS.
WHEN CLOSING THE DRIVER DOOR IT SAYS DRIVER DOOR AJAR.THEN WHEN LOCKING THE DOORS IT WILL NOT LOCK, BECAUSE THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ON.

THE CONTACT CALLED SUNLAND FORD (15330 PALMDALE RD, VICTORVILLE, CA 92392) AND THE PARTS WERE ORDERED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000.
WHEN I GO TO PUT MY CAR I PARK AND TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE BREAK THE CAR WILL ROLL FORWARD SEVERAL FEET OR IF I AM ON A HILL IT WILL ROLL BACKWARD SEVERAL FEET. WHEN I AM DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE CAR WILL JUST STOP ACCELERATING AT 80MPH. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I WAS TRYING TO GET AROUND A TRUCK AND THE CAR JUST STOPPED ACCELERATING ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.
DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR ALARM REMAINS ON AFTER DOOR IS CLOSED. CONSTANT ALARMS WHEN STOPPING TO PLACE VEHICLE IN PARK. DOORS WILL NOT LOCK AND LIGHTING REMAINS ON IN CAR.
