13N02 HAS ALREADY BEEN ISSUED FOR THIS SAME ISSUE ON MY SAME MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE; NAMELY THE BRAKE BOOSTER. HOWEVER, MY VIN WAS NOT VALID FOR THE AGREED UPON 10 YEAR EXTENDED WARRANTY/ONE TIME LABOR & MATERIAL REPAIR PROGRAM. OUR VEHICLE HAS EXPERIENCED A BRAKE BOOSTER FAILURE AT 32288 MILES. PREMATURE FAILURE AND WHAT MY FAMILY CONSIDERS A SAFETY RISK. SOFT PEDAL RESULTS WHEN PUMPING THE BRAKES ON JUST THE SECOND PUSH DOWNWARD.
LOAD HISSING SOUND WHILE PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL AND FEELS SPONGY. WHILE DRIVING, ESPECIALLY WHEN TRYING TO COME TO A FULL STOP, THE PEDAL MUST BE FORCIBLY SLAMMED TO THE FLOOR OR THE VEHICLE WILL CONTINUE TO TRAVEL. THE DEALER CONFIRMED I HAVE A FAULTY BRAKE BOOSTER. FORD HAS ALREADY RECALLED THE BRAKE BOOSTER ON 2013 EDGE MODELS MANUFACTURED UNTIL MARCH 2013. MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN JULY 2013.
THE "DOOR AJAR" LIGHT STAYS ON AFTER CLOSING THE DOOR. PER SOCIAL MEDIA IT IS A KNOWN AND COMMON PROBLEM. BECAUSE THE ESTIMATE FOR DIAGNOSTICS AND REPLACEMENT (QUOTED BY FORD DEALERSHIP) OF A FAULTY SWITCH IN THE DOOR IS APPROXIMATELY $525.00, THERE ARE SOCIAL MEDIA SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO DISABLE THE SWITCH (CUTTING A WIRE, ETC.). DISABLING THE SWITCH COULD CAUSE A SAFETY HAZARD. I THINK A RECALL SHOULD IS IN ORDER. MY VEHICLE (2013 FORD EDGE) HAS 29,300 MILES ON IT. THE PROBLEM FIRST STARTING OCCURRING IN AUG. 2017 AND HAS STEADILY GOTTEN WORSE.
TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AND JERKING. ENGINES REVS HIGH WHEN TRYING TO SHIFT. I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET WHEN THIS PROBLEM STARTED. I BARELY MADE IT THRU SEVERAL INTERSECTIONS TO A SAFE LOCATION. THE CAR IS UNDRIVABLE AND TOWED TO DEALER ON 8/14/2017. FORD CASE NUMBER 19010926. CSM JUDY RIZZO. NO ONE FROM FORD WILL TALK TO ME OR RETURN MY PHONE CALLS.
RE: PE16012 I TOO AM EXPERIENCING THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT. THERE ARE TWO MORE SAFETY ISSUES YOU FAIL TO CONSIDER AS WELL AS THE EXTENT OF THE PROBLEM. ONE, WHEN THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ON AND THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION THE AUTO LOCK FEATURE OF THE DOORS IS LOST. ASIDE FROM THE ISSUE OF THE DOORS POTENTIALLY OPENING THERE IS THE POTENTIAL DANGER TO THE OCCUPANTS OF UNWANTED ACCESS BY UNSCRUPULOUS PEOPLE. THE SECOND ISSUE THAT WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED AND LOCKED THE INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ON RESULTING IN BATTERIES BEING WORN DOWN AND DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS STRANDED. NOT A WONDERFUL THOUGHT IN FREEZING WINTER CONDITIONS. THE FINAL POINT I WOULD MAKE IS THAT THERE WERE 1349 COMPLAINTS, NOW 1350, FILED PRIOR TO MINE. AN OLD RULE OF THUMB HAS BEEN THAT FOR EVERYONE WHO WILL TAKE THE TIME TO WRITE A LETTER OF COMPLAINT THERE ARE 10,000 MORE WHO WILL NOT. THE MATH SAYS 13,500,000. OBVIOUSLY THERE WERE NOT THIS MANY FORD EDGES SOLD IN THE 3 MODEL YEARS THIS SAFETY ISSUE HAS PRESENTED ITSELF. IN FACT THEY SOLD A LITTLE UNDER .3% OF THAT NUMBER. THAT MAKES THE RATIO OF COMPLAINTS EXTREMELY HIGH AND MUCH SERIOUSNESS MUCH GREATER. THE DATE I NOTE AT THE BOTTOM IS THE APPROXIMATE DATE THE PROBLEM STARTED.
YOU CAN BE DRIVING AND THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT WILL COME ON WHICH TURNS THE INTERIOR LIGHTS ON MAKING DRIVING AT NIGHT VERY DIFFICULT DUE TO THE UNEXPECTED LIGHTING THAT REDUCES VISIBILITY GREATLY AT AN INSTANCE. ALSO IT MAY TAKE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS CLOSING THE DOOR TO GET THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT TO GO OUT CAUSING ONE TO WONDER IF THE DOOR IS TRULY CLOSED OR NOT.
2013 FORD EDGE WITH 82,638 MILES, YELLOW WARNING LIGHT CAME ON INDICATING, " CHECK FUEL FILL INLET" I HAVE TRIED NUMEROUS TIME OPENING AND CLOSING THE GAS CAP COVER WITH NO RESULTS. MY SUV CAME WITH NO GAS CAP. PROBLEM CONTINUE TO PERSIST EVEN WHEN CAR IS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION.
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS VEHICLE FAILS TO START. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START ENGINE IT WILL TURN OVER BUT NOT FIRE. TURNING SWITCH OFF THEN ATTEMPTING TO START ENGINE AGAIN USUALLY RESULTS IN THE ENGINE STARTING. WHEN THIS HAPPENS IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THE ENGINE IS HOT OR COLD, BRAND OF GAS USED OR LENGTH OF TIME OR MILES DRIVEN. THIS HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE LAST 6 MONTHS. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT TWICE. THEY HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM.
DOOR AJAR WILL NOT GO OFF, BECAUSE IF THIS THE DOORS DO NOT LOCK, INTER LIGHTS WILL NOT GO OFF.HEATS UP INTER LIGHT AREA, DRAINS BATTERY.
TRAVELLING AT 70 MPH ON FREEWAY, YELLOW WRENCH SHOWS AND VEHICLE SLOWS DOWN TO 2-5 MPH VERY QUICKLY. UNABLE TO ACCELERATE OR STEER. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION FORD NEEDS TO RECTIFY. TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP AND NO ERROR CODES OR RECURRING PROBLEM AT DEALERSHIP. THIS IS ALSO A PROBLEM AS HOW DO YOU HAVE A MASSIVE DECELERATION AND WARNING LIGHTS WITHOUT AN ERROR CODE REGISTERING.
DOOR AJAR MESSAGE CONSISTENTLY ON, ISSUE US IN LATCH CAUSING CONSISTENT MESSAGE AND DOME LIGHTS ON.
PTU LEAKING AND GOING OUT. WHEN YOU DRIVE YOU GET A SMELL LIKE PROPANE. INSIDE THE CAR. MAKE A GRINDING NOISE AFTER YOU STOP AND THEN START MOVING AGAIN. THIS WILL SHUT DOWN THE VEHICLE AND STOP IT INSTANTLY. VERY DANGEROUS. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT ON THIS. PLEASE HELP MANY PEOPLE SO WE CAN GET THI SAFETY PROBLEM FIXED SO IT DOES HURT MORE PEOPLE.
DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR DETECTION IS FAULTING. WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED OFTEN TIMES THE DOOR IS DETECTED AS OPEN, THE ALARM KEEPS GOING. RESULT: I CAN'T LOCK THE DOORS AND THE CONSTANT ALARMS ARE VERY DISTRACTING AND ANNOYING.
NOISE STARTED COME FROM MY DRIVER SIDE TIRE. STARTED TO JEFT WHILE MOVING FROM IDLE. TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AND HE SAID IT WAS THE POWER TRANSFER UNIT. CAR ONLY HAS 81,500 MILES ON IT. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH CRUISE SET A 70 MPH. I FELT THE CAR JERK AND LOOKED DOWN TO SEE THE ORANGE WRENCH IN THE CONTROL PANEL. THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY LOST POWER AND ACCELERATION. I WAS ABLE TO MOVE TO THE SHOULDER/COASTING TO GET OFF A VERY LARGE BRIDGE. DURING THIS PROCESS I ATTEMPTED TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND TRY TO RESTART IT AND IT WOULD NOT. ONCE I GOT THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER, I PLACED IT IN PARK AND TURNED IT COMPLETELY OFF. AFTER A MINUTE OR TWO I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. IT STARTED FINE AND RAN FINE THE REST OF THE WAY TO MY EXIT...WHICH WAS ABOUT 37 MILES. (I DID NOT USE THE CRUISE AGAIN) I IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO O'REILLYS FOR THEM TO CHECK THE CODE AND THERE WAS NOT ANYTHING ACTIVE OR INACTIVE. THE ALSO CHECKED MY BATTERY, ALTERNATOR AND STARTER AND FOUND THOSE TO BE IN PERFECT CONDITION. I'VE ONLY OWNED THE CAR 30 DAYS SO I WILL BE CONTACTING THE DEALERSHIP.
DRIVER DOOR AJAR
HAD THE CAR FOR A YEAR AND NEVER A PROBLEM UNTIL NOW. MY 2013 FORD EDGE HAS 43,000 ON IT. MY CAR WILL NOT START (BATTERY IS GOOD). SOMETIMES WILL CLICK BUT NOT START. SOMETIMES IT STRUGGLES TO START. SOMETIMES IT STARTS, RATTLES AND THEN SHUTS OFF BY ITSELF. I HAVE READ HORROR STORIES OF THIS PARTICULAR YEAR OF THE FORD EDGE. PEOPLE LOSING POWER OF CAR ON MAJOR HIGHWAYS, CUTTING OFF UNEXPECTEDLY!!! I'M TERRIFIED TO DRIVE MY CAR. I HAVE 4 KIDS WHO OFTEN ARE IN MY CAR WITH ME ESPECIALLY NOW THAT IT'S SUMMER TIME. AFTER READING COUNTLESS COMPLAINTS ABOUT SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND WORST, IT'S TIME FOR FORD TO RECALL ALL THESE CARS AND FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED AND THEY HAVE MAJOR LAWSUIT SINCE PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN DOCUMENTED TIME AND TIME AGAIN. I LOVED MY CAR UNTIL I READ ALL THE PROBLEMS AND COMPLAINTS. I WANT TO GET RID OF IT NOW BUT OWE TOO MUCH STILL ON IT. SO FIX THE PROBLEM FORD!!!!! NOW.....
BRAKE BOOSTER FAILED. FORD ISSUED A LETTER COVERING THIS DEFECT EARLIER, BUT REFUSED TO REPAIR OR PAY FOR REPAIR. SITUATION WAS DANGEROUS, AND I HAD IT REPAIRED FOR $591.05. PLEASE HELP ME OBTAIN REIMBURSEMENT. BRAKES WOULD LOOSE POWER.
TL* THE CONTACT'S WIFE OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED TO THE NHTSA HOTLINE AND NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
POTENTIAL EARLY TIRE FAILURE. THIS TIRE LINE (FEDERAL COURAGIA XUV) IS FIRST MANUFACTURED IN SEPTEMBER 2015, AND ALL FOUR OF MINE HAVE DISPLAYED NOTICEABLE RUBBER CRACKING IN THE TIRE BODY AREA (DOWN INSIDE THE TREAD GROOVES). FORD DEALER AND TIRE DEALER HAVE BOTH STATED THIS IS VERY PREMATURE CONDITION AND ADVISED TIRE REPLACEMENT.
DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH SENSOR INDICATING DOOR AJAR FAILED AND THE ENTIRE DOOR LATCH HAD TO BE REPLACED.
SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING. THE ENGINE AND ALL SYSTEMS SHUTS DOWN WHILE GOING 50 MILES AN HOUR ON THE HIGHWAY. HAVE TO COAST TO A STOP AND RESTART. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON 2 OCCASIONS IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS. I'M GOING TO GET MYSELF KILLED IN THIS THING. ALSO REAR BACK UP CAMERA IMAGE UPSIDE DOWN WHEN IT DOES APPEAR AND DRIVER DOOR INDICATOR ALARM IS ON WHEN DOOR IS CLEARLY SHUT. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO DEALER TO NO AVAIL. THEY WERE TO CONTACT THE FACTORY BUT NEVER GOT BACK WITH ME ON THE CLEAR ELECTRICAL COMPUTER MALFUNCTIONS OF THIS VEHICLE.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ON DRAINING THE BATTERY CAUSING 2ND TIME IN THREE MONTHS IVE CHANGED THE BATTERY.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON. FORD FIXED AT AROUND 38,000 MILES NOW IT HAS COME BACK. I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD DO THE CHEAP FIX AND IT WOULD RETURN AND THAT HAS BEEN THE CASE NOW I AM OUT OF WARRANTY. FORD THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE A RECALL. IF THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON AT NIGHT OR DOORS WONT LOCK THIS IS A HUGE LIABILITY. ALSO ITS SETS OFF THE ALARM AND DRAINS MY BATTERY.
THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON MY FORD EDGE STAY ON AT ALL TIMES WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TURNED ON. THIS CAUSED MY WINDSHIELD WIPER TO FLY OFF AND BREAK. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND VERY DISTURBING WHILE DRIVING. I HAD TO PUT A TOWEL ON THE METAL PART TO GO BACK HOME TO KEEP THE METAL FROM SCRAPING AND RUINING MY WINDSHIELD.
ORIGINALLY OCCURRED IN 2015. AT THAT TIME THE DEALER INDICATED THAT SOP WAS TO CLEAN CONTACTS NOT REPLACE COMPONENT. THE CLEANING WORKED UNTIL THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. NOW THE DOOR DOES NOT REGISTER IN THE SYSTEM AS CLOSED AT ANY TIME. THE DOOR IS CLOSED BUT THE SYSTEM DOES NOT SEE IT AS CLOSED. DOOR REMAINS UNLOCKED BECAUSE SYSTEM DOES NOT SEE IT CLOSED. ANTI-THEFT DOES NOT WORK BECAUSE SYSTEM DOES NOT SEE DOOR AS CLOSED. LIGHTS REMAIN ON FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME WHEN THE DOORS ARE CLOSED. GET WARNING THAT DOOR IS OPEN, WHEN IT IS CLOSED.
DRIVER'S DOOR SWITCH FAILED. CONTINUOUSLY RECEIVE DRIVER DOOR AJAR WARNING WHEN THE DOOR IS SECURELY CLOSED. INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME WHEN VEHICLE IS NOT MOVING OR MOVING SLOW.
2ND TIME IN MONTH THIS VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD IN PERFECT ROAD CONDITIONS. JUNE 17TH 2017 AND JULY 16TH 2017 MY VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER AND WARNING LIGHT CAME ON WITH A PICTURE OF A WRENCH. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD THAT WILL GET SOMEONE KILLED AND HAS BEEN WELL DOCUMENTED. MUST FIX ASAP
THE BRAKES HAVE FAILED ON ME 3 TIMES NOW, THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS BAD AND REPLACED IT THE FIRST TIME, THE SECOND TIME CLAIMS IT WAS A BAD PISTON INSIDE THE BREAK BOOSTER. THE BRAKES FAILED ONCE WHEN A CAR PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME AND I HAD TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES, THE SECOND TIME WAS DRIVING NORMALLY AND THE THIRD TODAY AFTER THE FRONT TIRES LOST TRACTION IN WET GRASS. THIS MAKES IT TO WERE YOU HAVE TO PUSH THE PEDDLE ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND HOPE THE CAR COMES TO A STOP.THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON EVERY TIME YOU ACCELERATE TO HARD (LIKE ENTERING AN INTERSTATE) THEN WILL GO AWAY AFTER A FEW DAYS. THE CODE THAT POPS UP FOR IT IS TURBO/SUPER CHARGER UNDER BOOST. THIS MAKES THE CAR REALLY SLUGGISH AND HARD TO GET UP TO SPEED.
I WAS SLOWLY TURNING RIGHT INTO A GAS STATION WHEN MY VEHICLE DIED. THE STEERING FROZE AND NOTHING WORKED. THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO THE GAS STATION WHERE I PUT THE CAR IN PARK, TURNED IT OFF, AND THEN BACK ON. IT STARTED FINE. IF I HAD BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY, I WOULD BE DEAD!!!! THIS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS!!!!
I HAVE A STRONG SMELL OF GAS FUMES INSIDE MY CAR WHILE DRIVING
ON 6-22-17 I PURCHASED THE FORD EDGE FROM TOWN AND COUNTRY TOYOTA. LESS THAN A WEEK LATER THE CAR COMPUTER INDICATOR CONSISTENTLY BEGAN TO DENOTE DOOR AJAR. THE CAR WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT REMAINED FOR 4 DAYS. ON 7-13-2017 WHILE DRIVING ON BUSY STREET IN CHARLOTTE NC AROUND 4:30 PM IN THE AFTERNOON THE FORD EDGE COMPUTER SYSTEM FLASHES THAT THE OIL PRESSURE IS LOW. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THIS INFORMATION WAS PLACED ON THE CAR COMPUTER SCREEN THE BREAKS LOCKED, THE STEERING LOCK AND THE CAR STOPS WHILE IN TRANSITION WITH NO WARNING AND I AM SITTING UNDERNEATH THE GREEN LIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION ON THE STREET.
7/9/17 BRAKE PEDAL ON MY 2013 FORD EDGE WENT TO THE FLOOR WHILE MAKING A SUDDEN STOP ALMOST REAR ENDING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. BRAKE PEDAL MADE A SOUND LIKE A BALLOON DEFLATING AS IT WENT TO THE FLOOR. EVEN IN PARK THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD TRAVEL TO THE FLOOR MAKING THE SOUND OF A DEFLATING BALLOON. TOOK THE CAR TO THE SHOP AND WAS DIAGNOSED AS A BRAKE BOOSTER FAILURE COSTING ME $630. MILEAGE IS 46,000
THE DOOR AJAR WARNING CONTINUOUSLY COMES ON EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED AND LOCKED. THIS CAUSES THE BATTERY TO DRAIN AND THE ALARM TO GO OFF AT RANDOM TIMES. THE ONLY WAY TO DEACTIVATE IS BY SLAMMING THE DOOR SHUT MULTIPLE TIMES.
BRAKE BOOSTER FAILED AT 65,375 MILES. FORD HAS ISSUED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON BRAKE BOOSTERS, INCLUDING 2013 MODELS, HOWEVER I WAS TOLD MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED A COUPLE OF MONTHS AFTER THE MANUFACTURE DATES OF CARS INCLUDED IN THE WARRANTY - SO THERE WAS NO WARRANTY COVERAGE FOR THIS $891.82 REPAIR. THE BRAKE RESPONSE ON MY CAR WOULD INTERMITTENTLY BECOME VERY STIFF (HARD TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL) AND DIFFICULT TO BRAKE. THIS OCCURRED IN VARIOUS PLACES - INCLUDING STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN BEFORE TURNING ONTO A VERY BUSY STREET, AND AT INTERSECTIONS. A LITTLE HISSING NOISE COULD BE HEARD WHILE BRAKING, AS WELL. THIS UNPREDICTABLE RESISTANCE TO BRAKING EFFORTS CREATED A DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITION. I HAVE READ MANY ACCOUNTS OF OTHER DRIVERS WHOSE BRAKES ALSO DEPRESSED COMPLETELY, WITHOUT SATISFACTORY BRAKING, DUE TO THIS DEFECTIVE BRAKE BOOSTER. I WAS TOLD THAT THE BOOSTER INSTALLED ON MY CAR WAS NOT DEFECTIVE, BUT I AM CONVINCED IT WAS, AS WELL AS THE OTHERS THAT HAVE BEEN REPLACED BY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I FEEL STRONGLY THAT THIS SHOULD BE A FORD RECALL ISSUE, RATHER THAN BEING ADDRESSED AS A WARRANTY ITEM, DUE TO THE DANGER OF OPERATING A VEHICLE WITH A DEFECTIVE BRAKING SYSTEM (DUE TO FAULTY BRAKE BOOSTER DESIGN), AND I BELIEVE MY CAR WAS BUILT WITH A FAULTY BRAKE BOOSTER. I WAS TOLD MY CAR WAS BUILT WITH A FORD MOTORCRAFT BRAKE BOOSTER (MOTORCRAFT PART #2005(BRB-47, FORD PART #BA1Z2005A). THE REPLACEMENT BOOSTER INSTALLED TO REPLACE THE FAILED BOOSTER WAS THE SAME NUMBER.
BUILT ONLINE NOVEMBER 2012 AND DELIVERED TO SEARCY AR APRIL 22, 2013 NOW WITH MILEAGE 120,000 BRAKES HISSING TOLD IT IS POWER BRAKE BOOSTER WHICH WAS RECALLED BUT ENDED ON MARCH 2013 BUT MY VEHICLE WAS BUILT BY THEN AND BEING DELIVERED SO WHY NOT BE PART OF THE RECALL??? NO BRAKES.. CAR IS 4 YEARS OLD WITH ONLY 58,000 MILES AND BRAKE BOOSTER HAD TO BE REPLACED.
THE BRAKE BOOSTER FAILED AT AROUND 40,000 MILES. WHILE DRIVING SLOWLY WITH PRESSURE APPLIED TO THE BRAKE THE CAR SLOWS BUT THEN WHEN I APPLY ADDITIONAL PRESSURE TO STOP THE BRAKE IS HARD AND ROLLS TO A STOP INSTEAD OF STOPPING WHERE IT SHOULD. IF I AM PARKING IT WILL ALMOST ROLL INTO THE CAR PARKED IN FRONT. DEALERSHIP SAID THE BOOSTER IS GONE.
FUEL FILLER NECK CONTINUES TO CAUSE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON. CHECK FUEL INLET MESSAGE ALSO APPEARS ON DASH. I KNOW THAT THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL FOR MY MAKE AND MODEL NOT SURE AS TO WHY MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN DRIVERS DOOR IS SHUT. THIS ALSO CAUSES THE DOORS NOT TO LOCK WHEN ENGAGED IN THE DRIVE MODE.
DRIVERS "DOOR AJAR WARNING" DOME LIGHTS STAY ON AND ALARM RINGS BUT THE DOOR IS CLOSED. SECOND REPLACEMENT OF DOOR LATCH IN 100,000 MILES NEEDED. MOVING OR STOPPED ANY ROAD.
DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR LIGHT ON. VEHICLE WAS NOT IN MOTION AND THE DOOR IS CLOSED.
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR LIGHT WILL NOT GO OUT. AT FIRST AFTER CLOSING THE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES THE LIGHT WOULD GO OUT, NOW THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON.
THE DOORS SENSORS OF THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS ARE FAULTY, CAUSING THE CAR TO REGISTER THEM AS "OPEN" ALL THE TIME. THIS CAUSES DOOR LOCKS TO DEFAULT TO UNLOCKED, EVEN WHILE DRIVING, REGARDLESS OF SPEED. THIS CAUSES A FALL HAZARD, A CARJACKING HAZARD, AND AN ABDUCTION HAZARD FOR ME AND MY CHILDREN. IT ALSO CAUSES THE OVERHEAD LIGHTS TO STAY ON WHILE BEGINNING TO DRIVE UNTIL THE CAR REACHES SPEEDS OVER 10 MPH. THIS CAUSES A PROBLEM WHILE IN REVERSE IN PARKING LOTS, AS THE LIGHTS DECREASES VISIBILITY TO ALMOST NOTHING AND PREVENTS ME FROM SEEING CARS CROSSING BEHIND ME AND PARKED ON MY PASSENGER SIDE.
THE 2013 FORD EDGE DOOR AJAR KEEPS LIGHTING UP SAYING THE DOOR IS AJAR WHEN THE DOOR IS CLEARLY SHUT. THE MAJOR PROBLEM IS THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK.
A YELLOW WRENCH LIGHT WARNING COMES ON THE DASH. WHEN THAT HAPPENS THE VEHICLE LOSES ALL ACCELERATION POWER. YOU HAVE TO LIMP THE VEHICLE THE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND THEN START IT BACK. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN IN TRAFFIC. I FEEL THIS COULD CAUSE A WRECK. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT MY SAFETY AS WELL AS OTHER PEOPLES SAFETY. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 10 TIMES IN THE LAST 10 DAYS. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER. THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY AND INFORMED ME THAT THIS WAS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTY OR RECALL. I KNOW THAT OTHER FORD VEHICLES HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE
LEFT FRONT DOOR SENSOR REGULARLY INDICATES DOOR AJAR, WHEN IT IS NOT. EFFECTS WHETHER I CAN LOCK DOORS TO PROTECT CHILDREN AND OTHER PASSENGERS. ALSO ADVERSELY IMPACTS BATTERY LIFE; IF SENSOR INCORRECTLY INDICATES DOOR AJAR, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ON AFTER DEPARTING THE VEHICLE, THUS DRAINING BATTERY AND INCREASING LIKELIHOOD OF NOT BEING ABLE TO START LATER.
DRIVERSIDE DOOR LATCH IS MESSED UP,IT IS SHOWING DOORS AJAR WHEN IT IS CLOSED.
THE ENGINE WILL NOT START WHEN THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE IS HIGH (105+ DEGREES). DURING THE HEAT OF THE DAY, ENGINE WILL NOT START (NO CLICKING, NO SOUNDS, NOTHING). RADIO COMES ON, AIR COMES ON, I AM ABLE TO CHANGE GEARS, ROLL DOWN WINDOWS, ETC. THERE ARE NO ISSUES IN THE MORNING OR EVENING WHEN THE DAY IS COOLER. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DOES COME ON ONLY WHEN I AM HAVING THE ISSUE. ONCE CAR EVENTUALLY STARTS, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOES OFF.
