THE PASSENGER DOOR AJAR LIGHT UP SOMETIMES WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED SECURELY. THIS LEAVES ME UNCERTAIN IF I HAVE A HAZARDOUS CONDITION OR NOT. CONCERNED ABOUT IGNORING THE SAFETY WARNING LIGHT WHEN I HAVE A REAL DOOR PROBLEM. CREATES AN UNSAFE CONDITION THAT MUST BE PHYSICALLY CHECKED EACH OCCURRENCE.
STARTING IN FEBRUARY 2017, THE 'DRIVER DOOR AJAR' WARNING INDICATOR WOULD NOT TURN OFF WHEN THE DRIVER DOOR WAS CLOSED. THE VEHICLE HAD ABOUT 90,000MILES. NONE OF THE THREE PASSENGER DOORS OR THE TAILGATE HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE. AT FIRST THE PROBLEM WAS INTERMITTENT. I TRIED TO LUBRICATE THE LATCH WITH SILICON SPRAY AND THE PROBLEM WOULD GO AWAY FOR A WEEK, THEN COME BACK. IT PROGRESSIVELY GOT WORSE UNTIL JUNE OF 2017, WHEN THE PROBLEM WOULD NOT GO AWAY AT ALL. SLAMMING THE DOOR SHUT REPEATEDLY DID NOT WORK, THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR WARNING STAYED ON. BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE, IT'S HARD TO TELL IF THE DOOR IS REALLY CLOSED OR NOT. IF THE DOOR IS NOT LATCHED PROPERLY, IT WOULD BE A SEVERE SAFETY CONCERN. IN ADDITION, THE DOORS NO LONGER LOCK, NEITHER AUTOMATICALLY NOR USING THE LOCK SWITCH WHICH ALSO PRESENTS A SAFETY CONCERN. ANOTHER RESULT OF THIS PROBLEM IS THE INTERIOR LIGHTS DO NOT GO OUT WHEN THE CAR IS OFF AND THE DOOR CLOSED WHICH HAS DRAINED THE BATTERY ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE AS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN, ESPECIALLY IN VIEW OF THE DOORS NOT LOCKING WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND THE UNCERTAINTY AS TO WHETHER OR NOT THE DOOR IS ACTUALLY CLOSED.
DRIVING ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AT 70 MILES PER HOUR ON STRAIGHT LEVEL AND SMOOTH SECTION OF HIGHWAY WHEN A SUDDEN LOUD EXPLOSION OCCURRED, AND GLASS COULD BE HEARD FALLING. DRIVER STOPPED TO ASSESS DAMAGE. GLASS HAD SHATTERED AROUND THE PERIMETER OF THE STATIONARY PORTION OF THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF. THERE WAS NO FLYING ROAD DEBRIS AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THERE WAS NO APPARENT EVIDENCE OF IMPACT. THIS APPEARS TO BE EITHER A PROBLEM WITH THE MANUFACTURING OF THE GLASS OR THE WAY IN WHICH IT IS ATTACHED TO THE VEHICLE. TEMPERATURE WAS NEAR FREEZING AND WARMING.
WHEN DRIVING VEHICLE THE DOOR AJAR WARNING COMES ON. THIS HAPPENS ALL OF THE TIME. WHEN PARKED THE DOME LIGHT COMES ON AND RUNS THE BATTERY DOWN.
DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF EVEN AFTER SHUTTING THE DOOR NUMEROUS OF TIMES. THIS CAUSES THE INSIDE LIGHT TO STAY ON DRAINING THE BATTERY AS WELL AS THE DOOR AJAR ALARM TO KEEP GOING OFF EVERY 3 MINUTES.
THE DOOR LATCH SENSOR STAYS ON EVEN WITH THE DOOR CLOSED AND LATCHED. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR KEEPS TELLING YOU TO STOP AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK BECAUSE THE DOOR IS NOT LATCHED. WHEN THE CAR IS OFF THE LIGHTS STAY ON DRAINNING THE BATTERY BECAUSE IT STILL DOES NOT SENSE THE DOOR IS CLOSED.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT ON FROM BAD DOOR SENSOR ON DRIVERS DOOR. THIS IS OUR 2ND EDGE WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. THE ISSUES CAUSED BY THIS IS THE BATTERY DRAINS, LIGHTS STAY ON INSIDE VEHICLE WITH NO WAY TO TURN THEM OFF OTHER THAN BY REMOVING FUSES AND DOORS WILL NOT LOCK AS IT THINKS THE CAR DOORS ARE OPEN.
ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS IN THE LAST THREE MONTHS THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR HAS MALFUNCTIONED ON THE FORD EDGE. THESE ISSUES SURFACED TWICE WITH THE DRIVER'S DOOR AND ONCE WITH THE REAR DRIVER'S PASSENGER DOOR. DESPITE BEING CLOSED, THE SENSOR ACTIVATES TO SHOW THAT THE DOOR IS AJAR. THE LIGHTS ON THE VEHICLE STAY ON, THE ALARM SOUNDS. THE REPAIR COSTS FOR THIS PROBLEM ARE AROUND $500 PER INCIDENT. A QUICK SEARCH OF THE INTERNET FINDS THIS TO BE A REOCCURRING PROBLEM FOR MANY FORD EDGE OWNERS BUT NO ONE AT FORD OR THE GOVERNMENT WILL HELP ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. I'M WRITING FOR YOU TO INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE.
DOOR AJAR LIGHTS ON WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED. INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM
SENSOR FOR DRIVER DOOR KEEPS COMING ON WHEN DOOR IS CLEARLY SHUT. THIS CAUSES BATTERY TO DRAIN, INTERIOR LIGHTS TO REMAIN ON, DOORS TO NOT LOCK, AND CONSTANT BEEPING. RESEARCHED IT AND TENS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND ARE PAYING $300+ TO FIX IT AND HAVING IT HAPPEN A YEAR LATER AGAIN.
MY "DOOR AJAR" SENSOR LIGHT STAYS ON EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS SHUT. I CAN NOT LOCK MY DOORS WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON. IT HAS ALSO RUN DOWN MY BATTERY SO I HAD TO REPLACE MY BATTERY.
DRIVERS SIDE "DOOR OPEN" DASH INDICATOR IS ACTIVE WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED, BOTH IN PARK AND WHILE DRIVING. IT HAS OCCASIONALLY COME ON DURING DRIVING, THEN GONE OFF AGAIN. INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON WHEN CAR IS OFF, LEADING TO A DRAIN ON THE BATTERY AND I EVENTUALLY HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY. THE ONLY WAY TO OCCASIONALLY MAKE THE LIGHT GO OFF IS TO REPEATEDLY OPEN AND THEN SLAM THE DOOR CLOSED. I ALSO FEEL THE ANTI THEFT FEATURES AND OVERALL LOCKING MAY BE COMPROMISED AS I HEAR THE HORN "DOUBLE BEEP" WHEN USING THE REMOTE CONTROL KEY FOB LOCK, INDICATING THAT A DOOR IS STILL "OPEN".
DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHTS UP, DOME LIGHTS REMAIN ON AND DOORS WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY LOCK EVEN WHEN DOOR IS SHUT. WARNING DOES NOT GO OFF SO YOU HAVE TO DRIVE WITH THE DOME LIGHT ON FOR A WHILE AND WHEN YOU PARK YOUR CAR THESE STAY ON AND IT CAN DRAIN YOUR BATTERY STRANDING YOU. THIS IS AN ONGOING EVERYDAY PROBLEM.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN DOOR IS PROPERLY CLOSED. CAUSES INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON MAKING IT DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT AND NOT LETTING THE DOORS LOCK.
THE DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT KEEP COMING ON FOR MY DRIVERS SIDE DOOR EVEN THOUGH ALL DOORS ARE CLOSED AND FULLY LATCHED. THE LIGHTS STAY ON AFTER THE THE CAR HAS BEEN PARKED AND ALL DOORS CLOSED, CAUSING THE BATTERY TO DRAIN QUICKLY. THE WARNING WILL ALSO COME ON WHILE I AM DRIVING AND EACH TIME I COME TO A STOP. PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT. IT WILL DO IT MOST OF THE TIME AND THEN OCCASIONALLY, THE DOOR AJAR WILL WORK PROPERLY.
DOOR AJAR SENSOR MALFUNCTION. WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED THE ALARM WARNING KEEPS GOING OFF AND INSIDE LIGHTS STAY ON.
THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT CONTINUES TO STAY ON EVEN WHEN IT IS SHUT. THIS HAS HAPPENED FOR THE FRONT DRIVER-SIDE DOOR AND THE BACK DRIVER-SIDE DOOR. THE FRONT WAS FIXED UNDER WARRANTY. I CAN NOT AFFORD THE BACK DOOR TO BE FIXED, AND I SHOULDN'T BECAUSE THIS IS AN OBVIOUS DEFECT! THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND IN MOTION WHEN THIS IS HAPPENING. I DON'T EVEN OPEN THE DOOR ANYMORE AS IT TAKES ABOUT THREE DAYS FOR THE SYSTEM TO REGISTER THAT IT IS CLOSED. BUT ONCE OPENED, THE LIGHT STAYS ON!!
REAR PASSENGER DOOR LOCK FAILING. LOCK SHOWS DOOR AJAR AND WILL NOT LOCK.
OPENING/CLOSING DRIVER SIDE DOOR; DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED WHICH LEAVES ON INTERIOR LIGHTS AFTER EXITING THE VEHICLE. IT HAS STARTED TO OCCUR MORE OFTEN WITHIN THE LAST MONTH, APPROX 85,000 MILES. WHEN THE DRIVER AJAR LIGHT IS ON MY DOOR LOCKS WILL NOT ENGAGE/INITIATE DURING DRIVING LIKE THEY SHOULD NORMALLY DO. CONTACTED USED CAR DEALER AND THEY SUGGEST THE CHARGE TO FIX CAN RANGE FROM 195.00-450.00, DEPENDING ON THE ISSUE, SENSOR REPLACEMENT ETC..... *TR
THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR SWITCH/ALARM REMAINS ON WHEN THE DRIVERS DOOR IS FIRMLY CLOSED WHEN STATIONARY AND WHEN IN MOTION. THIS CAUSES THE DOME LIGHT TO REMAIN ON WHICH MAKES IT HARD TO SEE, DANGEROUS, TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHEN DRIVING WHICH CAN BE UNSAFE. THIS CONDITION IS CONSTANT ON ANY TYPE OF STREET OR ANY PARKING SITUATION. MY EDGE HAD AROUND 31,000 MILES WHEN THIS PROBLEM STARTED.

DRIVER DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON CAUSING INTERIOR LIGHT TO STAY ON AND ALARM TO GO OFF IF ITS PARKED AND LOCKED. CLOSING THE DOOR UP TO 10 TIMES MAY CAUSE THE WARNING LIGHT TO GO OFF. IF I START DRIVING THEN THE WARNING MESSAGE TELLS ME TO SHIFT INTO PARK AND CLOSE MY DOOR. IF I IGNORE IT THEN IT STARTS BEEPING AT ME TO GET MY ATTENTION. PRESSING THE OK BUTTON TO BYPASS IT DOES NOT WORK MORE THAN A FEW SECONDS ITS BACK. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR WEEKS NOW. *TR
DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT HAS STARTED COMING ON REGULARLY EVEN THOUGH ALL DOORS ARE SHUT. SOMETIMES IT HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING AND I GET A "SHIFT TO PARK" WARNING. I THEN HAVE TO PULL OVER AND SLAM THE DOOR SHUT SEVERAL TIMES TO CLEAR IT. IT'S BECOMING A HASSLE AND LIGHTS STAY ON SO IT DRAINS THE BATTERY. THIS IS A DEFECT AND FORD SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL AND FIX THIS ISSUE. IT'S A SAFETY HAZARD AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED. *TR
Interior lights stay on much too long after turning vehicle off, even several hours. Dash and bell indicators indicates doors are open when they are not. Door locks operate open while driving.
CAR IS STATIONARY. DOOR AJAR SENSOR IS SHOWING THE INTERIOR LIGHT REMAINS ON WHICH MAKE IT DANGEROUS TO BACK UP AT NIGHT. THIS ALSO CAUSES THE BATTERY TO DIE. DOOR AJAR CHIME CONSTANTLY GOING OFF EVERY THREE TO FIVE MINUTES.

WHENEVER THE HEATER OR AIR CONDITIONER WERE BEING USED, THE VEHICLE WOULD EMIT STRONG FUEL ODORS AND CAUSED THE OCCUPANTS TO FEEL LIGHT HEADED, HAVE HEADACHES, AND STOMACH ISSUES. THE DEALER REFUSED TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR WAS NOT ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000.
DOOR AJAR WARNING WHEN DOOR IS SHUT, THE DRIVER DOOR WILL NOT LOCK PRESENTING ONE SAFETY HAZARD. ALSO THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON DURING NIGHT TIME DRIVING CAUSING A ROAD HAZARD BECAUSE IT IMPAIRS THE ABILITY TO SEE THE ROAD. IT ALSO DRAINS THE BATTERY AND CAN LEAVE YOU STRANDED IN A PARKING LOT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. WHEN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS CLOSED, THE "DOOR AJAR" INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND A BELL-LIKE ALARM SOUNDED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE DOORS REMAINED UNLOCKED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR SWITCH WAS STUCK AND THAT THE DOOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 19,000.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT AND DOME LIGHTS STAYING ON. DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHEN DRIVING
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY GOING 65MPH ON 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS WHEN MY CAR DECELLERATES AND I LOSE POWER. I MANAGED TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND HAD TO RESTART MY CAR.
DOOR AJAR SENSOR NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE DRIVER'S DOOR INCORRECTLY STATES THAT THE DOOR IS AJAR AT ALL TIMES. THIS CAUSES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON INITIALLY WHEN DRIVING, OR EXITING CAR. CAR BEEPS AND FLASHES A WARNING WHICH IS DISTRACTING/DANGEROUS. CAR WILL NOT LOCK WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS RELATED TO THE ONGOING INVESTIGATION, I JUST WANTED TO ADD THAT MY VEHICLE STARTED EXPERIENCING THIS ABOUT A MONTH AGO. THE PROBLEM WAS INTERMITTENT AT FIRST, BUT IS NOW CONTINUOUS.

THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF AND IS NOW CAUSING THE DOME LIGHTS TO STAY ON AFTER THE CAR IS OFF - CAUSING A DEAD BATTERY. THE SENSOR IS PROGRESSIVELY GETTING WORSE - HARDER AND HARDER TO GET IT TO SHUT OFF.
REAR DOOR SENSOR WILL NOT GO OFF, RESULTS IN DOME LIGHT STAYING ON RUNNING BATTERY DOWN. WIPERS WILL NOT SHUT OFF
THE DRIVERS DOOR DOOR AJAR SENSOR DOES NOT REGISTER WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED. THIS LEADS TO THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT REMAINING ON DURING TRAVEL, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAINING ON DURING TRAVEL, DOORS WILL FAIL TO LOCK DURING TRAVEL, AND AN AUDIBLE ALARM EACH TIME YOU STOP THE VEHICLE FOR A STOP SIGN OR STOP LIGHT.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT ON WITH DOOR CLOSED.INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON AND DOORS WILL NOT LOCK.SOMETIMES HAVE TO CLOSE DOOR 10 -12 TIMES BEFORE IT REGISTERS THAT IT IS CLOSED. I DRIVE TO WORK AT NIGHT AND INTEROIR LIGHTS ARE DISTACTING AND MAKE IT HARDER TO SEE.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT ON THE DRIVER SIDE. MY LIGHT CAME ON 2 MONTHS AGO AND I HAVE READ 139 COMPLAINTS ON THIS PROBLEM. CUSTOMERS PAYING 400 FOR IT TO BE FIXED AND THEN THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE AND FORD SEEMS NOT TO CARE.
EVERYTIME I GET IN AND OUT OF MY CAR THE DRIVER'S DOOR WON'T LOCK. THIS LEAVES ME IN A VULNERABLE AND UNSAFE POSITION WHEN DRIVING OR PARKING AT WORK OR THE STORE. I COULD BE CARJACKED IF MY DOOR IS STILL UNLOCKED AND I COULD BE ROBBED OF MY POSSESSIONS WHILE IN THE STORE OR AT WORK SINCE MY DOORS WON'T LOCK. WOULD YOU WANT YOUR LOVED ONES/RELATIVES FOUND IN THIS POSITION/SITUATION? HOW WOULD YOU FEEL?
THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON DUE TO A DEFECTIVE DOOR LATCH. THIS ALSO CAUSES THE VEHICLE LIGHTS TO STAY ON AND THE SHIFT TO PARK LIGHT TO STAY ON...WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. *TR
HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WITH THIS SPECIFIC MODEL AND YEAR ARE REPORTING THE SAME ISSUE OF THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR GOING OUT. SOME PEOPLE SAY IT IS HAPPENING REPEATEDLY EVEN AFTER REPAIR. FORD HASN'T RECALLED IT THOUGH, AND IT IS COSTING AS MUCH AS $750 FOR CONSUMERS. MINE HAS BEEN OUT SINCE JUST AFTER BUYING THE CAR. THE FACT THAT THE REPAIRS ARE NOT EVEN WORKING PERMANENTLY IS A BIGGER ISSUE TOO. THIS IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURER PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED BY FORD. THIS IS A CONSTANT ISSUE REGARDLESS OF MOTION. STATIONARY VEHICLES AND MOVING VEHICLES ALIKE ARE SHOWING THIS ISSUE.
DRIVER DOOR AJAR ALERT COMES ON AND STAYS ON WILL NOT RESET, AT THE SAME TIME INTERIOR LIGHTING REMAINS ON FOR AN EXTENDED TIME AFTER TURNING CAR OFF AND EXITING. DRAINS THE BATTERY. THE DOOR LACKS ARE ALSO EFFECTED UNABLE TO LOCK WHILE CAR IS ON, THE AUTO LOCK NOT FUNCTIONING PLACING DRIVER AND PASSENGERS IN JEOPARDY. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS ALSO EFFECTED WHEN DRIVING ESPECIALLY AT DARK DUE TO AN EXTENDED DELAY IN GOING OFF AFTER STARTING PROHIBITS BEING ABLE TO SEE OUTSIDE AND DRIVE SAFELY. HAVE REVIEWED MANY REPORTS FROM OTHER FORD OWNERS ON THIS SUBJECT ON YOU TUBE MANY OF WHIZ HAVE HAD VERY COSTLY REPAIRS DONE REPEATEDLY ON THE SAME PROBLEM, SOME PURCHASING PARTS TO REPAIR ONLY TO FIND THE PARTS WERE FAULTY AS WELL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED TO DISPLAY THE PARK LIGHT WHEN THE CONTACT PLACED THE GEAR INTO PARK. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH A REPRESENTATIVE AT THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT CAUSES DOOR TO NOT LOCK AND POP OPEN WHILE IN MOTION. INTERIOR AND PUDDLE LIGHTS STAY ON WHILE DRIVING CAUSING HAZARD BY NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE. BATTERY GOES DEAD. *TR
DOOR AJAR NOTIFICATION WILL NOT GO OFF EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR IS COMPLETELY SHUT. THIS KEEPS THE OVER HEAD DOME LIGHTS FROM GOING OFF AS WELL AS THE DOORS FROM LOCKING. IT'S DANGEROUS AT NIGHT BECAUSE IT'S HARD TO SEE TO BACK UP WHEN THE DOME LIGHTS ARE ON. IT MAKES VISIBILITY VERY LOW. IT'S ALSO NOT SAFE THAT THE DOORS DO NOT LOCK.
THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS CONSISTENTLY ON WHEN PARKED IT CAUSES THE INTERIOR LIGHT TO REMAIN ON AND DRAIN THE BATTERY. WHEN DRIVING IT WILL CONSTANTLY BEEPS TELLING TO YOU PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND WON'T LET YOU LOCK THE DOORS. AT FIRST IT WAS A RARE OCCASION THAT THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT WOULD COME ON BUT NOW IT'S ALMOST EVERYTIME I GET IN THE VEHICLE. *TR
THE ADVANCE TRAC WARNING LIGHT COMES ON IF THE CAR HAS BEEN IDLING FOR MORE THAN 5 MINUTES. THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON AND SAY MY TRACTION CONTROL IS OFF. THE CAR ONLY HAS 38,000 MILES. I HAVE HEARD THAT OTHERS HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE WITH THE FORD EDGE. ONCE I START MOVING THE WARNING LIGHT WILL EVENTUALLY GO AWAY AFTER A FEW MINUTES.

DOOR AJAR LIGHT REMAINS ON REGARDLESS THAT DOORS ARE PROPERLY LATCHED. HAZARDS: UNABLE TO LOCK DOORS DUE TO THE FACT THAT VEHICLE BELIEVES DOOR IS OPEN. WAS RECENTLY IN A BAD AREA OF TOWN IN A PARKING LOT AND WAS UNABLE TO LOCK THE DOORS FOR MYSELF AND INFANT. OVERHEAD LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF BECAUSE VEHICLE BELIEVES DOOR IS OPEN. WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT (ESPECIALLY WHEN BACKING OUT OF DRIVEWAYS) IT IS INCREDIBLY HARD TO SEE BECAUSE THE DOME LIGHT REMAINS ON. BACK WINDOW IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE OUT OF IN THE DARK WITH THE DOME LIGHT ON. DOME LIGHT WILL OVER GO OVER AFTER REACHING A CERTAIN SPEED. THESE ARE SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUES! NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE AND NOT BEING ABLE TO LOCK DOORS ARE VERY SERIOUS ISSUES! AFTER THIS MANY COMPLAINTS, FORD SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE TO PERFORM A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE! THIS IS NOT A $20 PART THAT NEEDS REPLACED, IT'S A $450-$500 REPAIR ISSUE THAT SOME FAMILIES DON'T HAVE THE ABILITY TO PAY FOR!
DRIVER DOOR WILL NOT LOCK. DOOR AD JAR MESSAGE ON DASH. WHEN YOU MANUALLY LOCK THE DOOR THEY IMMEDIATELY UNLOCK. CAN NOT KEEP DOORS LOCKED. TRIED LOCKING DOOR BEFORE STARTING ENGINE BUT DOORS UNLOCKS AS SOON AS CAR STARTS EVEN BEFORE CAR IS IN MOTION. THIS HAPPENS ALMOST ALL THE TIME THE CAR IS STARTED. I JUST DRIVE WITH THE ERROR OF N THE DASH BOARD "PUT CAR IN PARK" AND AN OCCASIONAL AUDIBLE SOUND.
