BRAKE BOOSTER - THERE IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH A DEFECTIVE PART (BRAKE BOOSTER) ON THE FORD EDGE AS IDENTIFIED BY FORD IN THE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N02. DESPITE FORD'S KNOWLEDGE OF THE FAULTY/DEFECTIVE PART, THEY ONLY ISSUED A RECALL FOR VEHICLES BUILT AT THE OAKVILLE ASSEMBLY PLANT. MY CAR BEGAN TO FAIL ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO AND I TOOK IT TO BE SERVICED. THE TECHNICIAN TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. THE SYMPTOMS WERE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND THE CAR WAS SHUTTING DOWN WHEN STOPPED AT RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGNS. AFTER A WEEK OR SO MY BRAKES GAVE OUT SUDDENLY CAUSING ME TO VEER OFF THE ROAD TO AVOID HITTING A CAR. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE FORD SERVICE AREA AND WAS TOLD THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS BAD AND THAT WAS CAUSING THE BRAKE FAILURE AND THE ENGINE CUTTING OFF. FORD IS AWARE OF THE DANGEROUS BRAKE FAILURE CAUSED BY THE FAULTY/DEFECTIVE BRAKE BOOSTER, BUT REFUSES TO RECALL ALL VEHICLES THAT ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS A ROAD HAZARD AND CONSUMER SAFETY ISSUE THAT CAUSES UNSAFE CONDITIONS THAT FORD NEEDS TO ACKNOWLEDGE ON ALL FORD EDGE VEHICLES AND NOT A SELECT FEW.
I CURRENTLY OWN A 2013 FORD EDGE 2013 THAT IS EXPERIENCING BRAKE FAILURE. DURING BRAKING (WHILE IN MOTION, IN THE CITY, HIGHWAY, INTERSTATE, AND TURNING THE VEHICLE LOSES SIGNIFICANT BREAKING PERFORMANCE. WHEN PRESSING THE BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE THE VEHICLE DOES NOT STOP AT TIMES AND THE BRAKE PEDAL HARDENS AND HISSES DURING BREAKING. THIS BEGAN WEDNESDAY, JUNE 22, 2016. IN REVIEW FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS A RECALL ON THE BRAKE BOOSTER FOR YEARS 2010-2013. WHEN CONTACTING FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND SPEAKING TO AARON EMPLOYEE NUMBER 62306, HE STATED THAT MY VEHICLE FELL A FEW MONTHS OUTSIDE OF THE COVERED VEHICLES. SPOKE TO JEREMY AT STIVERS FORD DEALERSHIP IN MONTGOMERY, AL. THEY WILL NOT REVIEW THE ISSUE UNLESS I PAY $ 99.95 DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT FORD NOR STIVER WILL RELIEVE THE FINANCIAL BURDEN OF THE REPAIRS NOR SUPPLY A LOANER FOR THE DURATION OF FIXING. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET HELP, INCLUDING CONTACTING THE SERVICE MANAGER OF STIVER'S FORD JEFF ANDERSON, THERE HAS BEEN NO URGENT MATTER TO FIX OR HELP WITH GETTING THIS RESOLVED. AS IT STANDS THIS VEHICLE IS SAFETY HAZARD AND IS LOSING ITS BRAKING PERFORMANCE WHICH WILL LEAD TO ROAD HAZARD OF POSSIBLE FATALITY. THIS IS ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION FOR MY FAMILY OF MYSELF (SINGLE MOTHER AND TWO SMALL CHILDREN).
THE "DOOR AJAR" LIGHT COMES ON ALL OF THE TIME WHICH DOESN'T ALLOW TO LOCK THE DOOR AND KEEPS THE LIGHTS ON WHICH DRAINS THE BATTERY. I HAVE TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR ($500)
MY DOOR AJAR LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF WHEN I CLOSE THE DOOR. MY CAR DOORS WILL NOT LOCK EVEN MANUALLY WHICH IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. MY BATTERY IS ALSO GOING TO DIE DUE TO THE DOME LIGHT NEVER SHUTTING OFF.
THE DRIVER SIDE LATCH AND DOOR AJAR SENSOR ARE DEFECTIVE. THE CAR DOES NOT PROPERLY REGISTER THAT THE DOOR IS CLOSED. THIS FORCES THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT AND SOUND TO REPEATEDLY GO OFF. THIS ALSO KEEPS THE DOME LIGHT ON WHEN SHUTTING THE DOOR THUS KILLING THE BATTERY. ALSO, YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO LOCK THE DOORS AND THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH KIDS AND WITH ITEMS IN THE CAR BEING STOLEN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE HEATER DID NOT WORK WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (SETHWABLEY CHEVROLET IN ADA, OK) WHERE THE SOFTWARE WAS RESETTLED. THE FAILURE RECURRED A YEAR LATER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 39,000.
DRIVER SIDE "DOOR AJAR" ALERT REMAINS ON WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED. INTERIOR LIGHT REMAINS ON, DRAINING BATTERY. DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHILE VEHICLE IS MOVING. IF DOORS ARE LOCKED MANUALLY, AUTOMATIC UNLOCK OCCURS IMMEDIATELY.
"DRIVER DOOR AJAR" AROUND 40K PLUS MILES WE STARTED GETTING THIS ISSUE. EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSE IT KEEPS SAYING "DRIVER DOOR AJAR". IT WON'T LOCK THE DOOR BECAUSE OF THIS. EVEN WHEN YOU PARKED AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE ONCE YOU TRY TO LOCK THE DOOR IT WON'T. THIS MAY CAUSE POTENTIAL BATTERY DAMAGE OR WORST PEOPLE CAN JUST SIMPLY OPEN YOUR DOOR WHEN YOU ARE IN A STOP WHILE ON THE ROAD. APPARENTLY I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE. THIS ISSUE IS VERY COMMON, TRY YOUTUBE AND SEARCH FOR FORD DOOR AJAR. A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE GETTING THIS ISSUE BUT STILL NO RECALL.
MY FORD EDGE HAS A DOOR AJAR PROBLEM WHICH IS VERY WELL KNOWN AND SHOULD BE RECALLED THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS YOU WOULD NOT KNOW IF THE DOOR IS CLOSED OR REALLY OPEN DUE TO THE FAULTY SWITCH
DOOR AJAR SENSOR FAILURE. SYSTEM WOULD INDICATE DOOR WAS AJAR EVEN THOUGHT DOOR WAS CLOSED. LIGHTS WOULD REMAIN ON, AND DOOR INDICATOR WOULD CHIME EVERYTIME THE CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. DOOR SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $585.
MY CAR, FORD EDGE 2013 HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE DRIVER DOOR SENSOR WHICH SHOWS THAT THE DOOR IS NOT CLOSED CAUSING THE ALARM BELL TO STAY ON, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WON'T TURN OFF, HAD TO HAVE A JUMP START. TOOK TO FORD DEALER AND WAS CHARGED FOR REPAIR. QUITE EXPENSIVE FOR ME TO PAY FOR WHAT FORD SHOULD BE PAYING FOR. I UNDERSTAND THAT ARE QUITE A LARGE NUMBER OF OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. ALSO SMELL EXHAUST FUMES WHEN SHUTTING SHUTTING OFF THE ENGINE AS I GET OUT OF THE CAR. COMING FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT. UNDERSTAND THIS IS ALSO A PROBLEM FOR OTHER OWNERS. THESE FACTORS TOGETHER SHOULD BE REASON FOR THE NHTSA TO GET INVOLVED AND FORCE A RECALL TO REVIEW OUR GROUPS PROBLEMS. I PAID $229.00 TO CLEAN CONTACTS. NEW PARTS MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE. HELP US WITH THIS.
LESS THAN 24 HOURS AFTER I PURCHASED THIS CERTIFIED USED VEHICLE FROM A FORD DEALER, DRIVER'S DOOR AJAR WARNING APPEARS WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION EVEN THOUGH DOOR IS FIRMLY LATCHED. ALL DOORS INSTANTLY AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCK WHILE DRIVING. DOORS CANNOT BE RE-LOCKED BECAUSE THEY IMMEDIATELY UNLOCK AGAIN. THIS REPRESENTS AN ACCIDENT HAZARD BECAUSE IT ALLOWS OCCUPANTS TO POTENTIALLY BE THROWN FROM THE VEHICLE IN THE EVENT OF A COLLISION. THIS CONDITION IS APPARENTLY DUE TO A FAULTY DOOR LATCH SWITCH AND IS WELL DOCUMENTED BY HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET.
MY 2013 FORD EDGE VEHICLE DOOR AJAR LIGHT CAME ON ABOUT A WEEK AGO. I CAN NOT GET THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT TO SHUT OFF. IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW HARD OR SOFT IS SHUT IT, IT WILL STAY ON. I DRIVE 20 MILES TO WORK EVERYDAY. IT IS A BIG SAFETY HAZARD. WHEN I DO GET IT TO SHUT OFF , WHILE DRIVING IT WILL POP BACK ON.. THEN MY INTERIOR LIGHTS COME AND I HAVE A HARD TIME GETTING THEM OFF. I HAVE 2 KIDS AND THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE FOR ME. I SEE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE BUT NO RECALL. THE LOCKS WILL LOT LOCK WITH THIS LIGHT ON. LIKE I SAID BEFORE I HAVE KIDS AND THIS IS A BIG CONCERN FOR ME.
ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY FAILURE RESULTING IN LOSS OF POWER . ENGINE STALLED WHILE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. DRIVER AND 3 PASSENGERS ENDANGERED WHILE TURNING LEFT ACROSS 2 LANES OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC, VEHICLE STALLS CREATING A DEADLY SITUATION. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP WHERE UPON TESTING THE FAULTY ETB WAS CONFIRMED . FORD WON'T COVER IT. VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW IN DEC. 2012( 35000 MILES ). FORD HAS A PROBLEM WITH ETB'S ON OTHER MODELS AND EXTENDED COVERAGE TO 10 YEARS/ 150000 MILES . WHY IS MY VEHICLE NOT COVERED WITH SUCH A DANGEROUS PART FAILURE?

THE DOOR SENSOR IS FAULTY SAYING THE DOOR IS AJAR AND KEEPING THE DOME LIGHTS ON. I HAVE ALREADY PUT IN A NEW BATTERY BECAUSE OF THIS THE LIGHTS STAY ON ALL NIGHT AND DAY. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THE CAR IS STATIONARY OR MOVING THE PROBLEM IS THE SAME
WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE, I COMPLETELY LOST POWER. MY CAR WAS DRIVING ON ITS OWN, ABOUT 2MPH ON THE ROAD, WHILE EVERYONE ELSE WAS DRIVING 45MPH. THIS HAPPENED SUDDENLY, AND MY CAR WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP WHEN I WAS AT A RED LIGHT. THIS WAS AN EXTREMELY SCARY SITUATION BECAUSE WHILE I WAS DRIVING, MY CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED. THE CARS AROUND ME COULD HAVE EASILY COLLIDED WITH MINE, ESPECIALLY WHEN MY CAR WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD AND PUT IT IN PARK. WHILE MY CAR WAS IN PARK, IT WAS SHAKING. I HAD TO GET MY CAR TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT I HAVE A THROTTLE BODY PROBLEM. THIS IS SOMETHING I NEVER HEARD OF. BUT TO KNOW THAT AT ANY TIME, MY CAR CAN RANDOMLY STOP ON ITS OWN IS SCARY. I WAS TOLD THAT FORD IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM, BUT IT HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED. FORD HAS A DUTY TO MAKE SURE THAT ITS PRODUCT IS SAFE FOR THE ORDINARY CONSUMER. A BREACH OF THAT DUTY IS PUTTING AN UNSAFE PRODUCT OUT THERE, AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, AND NOT TAKING REMEDIAL MEASURES. SOMEONE CAN LOSE THEIR LIFE BY A CAR COMPLETELY LOSING POWER ON THE ROAD, AND THAT LIFE COULD HAVE BEEN MINE. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO FIX THE PROBLEM THAT FORD IS CLEARLY AWARE OF.

MY REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR IS CLOSED AND YET THE DOOR AJAR WARNING STAYS ON THEREFORE MY DOORS DON'T AUTOMATICALLY LOCK WHEN IN MOTION. AND WHEN THE KEY IS PULLED OUT OF THE IGNITION ALL THE INTERIOR LIGHTS AND THE LIGHTS ON MY SIDE MIRRORS STAY ON UNTIL I START THE CAR AGAIN SO THEY STAY ON FOR HOURS AT A TIME, MAKING EVERY BULB VERY HOT AND DRAINING MY BATTERY. I FIGURED THIS WAS JUST MORE WEAR AND TEAR BUT AFTER LOOKING INTO IT IT SEEMS MANY OTHER EDGE OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME EXACT ISSUE.

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, DRIVING DOWN A STATE HIGHWAY, IT STOPPED RESPONDING TO PRESSURE ON THE ACCELERATOR.A LIGHT ON THE DASH ADVISED ME TO CHECK THE MANUAL. I HAD TO PULL OFF THE ROAD, TURN OFF THE ENGINE, THEN RESTART IT, WHICH RESET THE THROTTLE AN ALLOWED ME TO CONTINUE HOME. THIS PROCESS WAS REPEATED THREE TIMES ON THE INTERSTATE ON MY WAY TO WORK. I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM IN JANUARY, WHEN THE DEALERSHIP COULDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM, AND SENT ME HOME IN A FAULTY VEHICLE, ONLY TO HAVE IT DELIVERED TO THEM VIA TOW TRUCK A DAY LATER, RESULTING IN THEM REPLACING THE THROTTLE BODY. FIVE MONTHS LATER, I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY, SO THEY WONT REPLACE IT. THEY DO, HOWEVER WANT TO CHARGE ME A $120 DIAGNOSTIC FEE, AFTER I TOLD THEM EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. THIS HAS PUT MY LIFE IN DANGER A TOTAL OF SIX TIMES, TO DATE. IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL.
VEHICLE WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH. YELLOW WRENCH ICON CAME ON, AND ENGINE POWER WAS LOST. COASTED OUT OF TRAFFIC AND INTO PARKING LOT. TURNED CAR OFF AND BACK ON, AND VEHICLE RAN NORMALLY WITH NO ERROR LIGHTS. TURNED CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND DROVE APPROXIMATELY 15 MILES WITH NO RECURRENCE. DUE TO THE SAFETY CONCERNS OF HAVING THE ENGINE STALL AGAIN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OR WITH CHILDREN IN THE CAR, TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP STATED NO ERROR CODES WERE STORED, AND RECOMMENDS REPLACING THROTTLE BODY FOR $700+ BASED ON THEIR HISTORY WITH SIMILAR SITUATIONS.

DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ON, EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS SECURELY SHUT. DRIVER FRONT AND PASSENGER FRONT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS CLOSED, THE DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. AS A RESULT, THE DOOR FAILED TO LOCK AND CAUSE THE OTHER DOORS TO LOCK AND UNLOCK WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE CHIMED AS IF THE DOOR WAS OPEN ALTHOUGH IT WAS LATCHED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT SIDE DOOR LATCH AND SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN DOOR IS FULLY CLOSED. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE BY FORD THEY EVEN HAVE A TECHNICAL BULLETIN ON THE ISSUE. MANY DISCUSSION ON LINE EXIST ABOUT THE SAME CONDITION. THESE ARE NOT OLD VEHICLES. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. 1. INTERIOR LIGHTS CAN COME ON DUE TO THIS ISSUE AT ANY TIME CAUSING A BLINDING ISSUE WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. 2. UNABLE TO LOCK DOORS WHILE IN VEHICLE. 3. UNABLE TO KNOW IF THE DOOR IS REALLY CLOSED PROPERLY. 4. THREE WARNINGS CONTINUE TO POP UP CONTINUALLY WHILE DRIVING THAT ENGINE IS ON, SHIFT TO PARK AND DOOR AJAR. PLEASE REQUEST THAT FORD DOES THE RIGHT THING FOR SAFETY AND RECALLS THIS DEFECTIVE PART.
MY CAR KEEPS SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING. I SEARCHED ONLINE AND THERE ARE MULTIPLE SITES THAT INDICATE THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE ELECTRIC THROTTLE BODY. FORD SAYS MY VIN IS EXCLUDED FROM THIS WARRANTY. I FEEL THIS NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT SINCE IT MAY BE AFFECTING A WIDER RANGE THAN PREVIOUSLY DISCOVERED.
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR LIGHT REMAINS ON EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED. THE DEALERSHIP NOTIFIED ME OF THE LOCKING SENSOR/ASSEMBLY BEING FAULTY AND THAT I NEED TO HAVE THIS CHANGED BECAUSE THE BATTERY CAN DRAIN. REPAIRS COST ABOUT $400 SINCE I WAS 3,000 MILES BEYOND OF THE WARRANTY.
THE PASSENGER LEFT REAR DOOR AJAR SENSOR STAYS ON EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS COMPLETELY CLOSED. THE SENSOR IS LOCATED ON THE DASHBOARD SCREEN.THE DOORS CANNOT BE LOCKED WHILE DRIVING EVEN THOU THEY LOCK YOU CAN STILL OPEN THE LOCKED DOOR WHILE THE VEHICLE IS MOVING. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AS I HAVE A CHILD WHO CAN OPEN THE DOOR AT ANY TIME SINCE THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK! ANOTHER HUGE ISSUE IS BECAUSE THE DOOR SENSOR IS SAYING THE DOOR IS OPEN IT DRAINS THE BATTERY BECAUSE THE LIGHTS STAY ON LONGER. I HAVE ALREADY HAVE TO BEEN JUMPED ONCE AND GET THE BATTERY SAVER IS OFF POP UP ON MY SCREEN WHEN TURNING OFF MY CAR. THE SENSOR LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR THE PAST 2 MONTHS NOW. MY CAR IS ONLY A 2013 WITH 39000 MILES.
THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT WAS CONTINUING TO TURN ON, EVEN WHILE DRIVING, CREATING AN UNSAFE DRIVING SITUATION AS ALL THE INTERIOR LIGHTS COME ON AND WILL NOT TURN OFF UNTIL YOU PULL OVER, PUT THE CAR IN PARK, OPEN THE DOOR, PUSH IN THE DOOR LATCH, AND THEN SHUT IT AGAIN AND AGAIN UNTIL THE DOOR AJAR COMES OFF. I HAD THIS FIXED AT WHILE STILL UNDER WARRANTY. IT STARTED DOING THIS AGAIN LESS THAN 6 MONTHS LATER. I WAS THEN INFORMED THAT THE DRIVERS DOOR LATCH IS FAULTY AND THE SWITCH INSIDE IS CAUSING THE LIGHT TO STAY ON. IT IS RECOMMENDED TO REPLACE THE LF DOOR LATCH AT $445. IT WAS "CLEANED" ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE GENTLEMEN, BUT NOT REPLACED IN JANUARY WHEN IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. HE SAID IT WILL DO THE SAME THING IT CURRENTLY IS IN ABOUT 6 MONTHS IF THEY JUST CLEAN IT AGAIN AND NOT REPLACE IT. IT IS A HAZARD WHILE DRIVING AND A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. I AM UNSURE WHY IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN REPLACED ORIGINALLY. I ASSUMED WHEN I TOOK IT IN IT HAD BEEN FIXED AND REPLACED, NOT JUST CLEANED.

TAKATA RECALL WE BOUGHT THE 2013 FORD EDGE NEW AND WITHIN A WEEK STARTED TO HERE NOISE IN THE BRAKES , WE CALLED THE DEALER AN THEY SAID ITS PROBABLY BECAUSE THE CAR SITS GARAGE TOO MUCH. SO WE PUT MORE MILES ON THE CAR DROVE IT MORE NOW AT JUST OVER 22,000 MILES THE BRAKES STARTED GETTING REALLY NOISY AN BECAME A BUMPING SOUND YOU COULD HERE WHILE STARTING TO STEP UP THE SPEED . WE GOT SCARED TO DRIVE IT SO TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC . THEY TOOK APART THE BRAKES AND THEY PADS AND ROTORS WERE ALL SHOT AND WILL COST ME OVER $500 TO FIX . WE CALLED THE DEARLER WHO SAID THAT IT IS OUT OF WARRENTEE.
WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOSS POWER TO TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE AND ENDED UP GOING 1 MPH. COULD NOT ACCELERATE AND BARELY MISSED BEING STRUCK BY OTHER VEHICLES. "WRENCH" WARNING INDICATOR CAME ON AND I PULLED MY AUTO OVER TO SIDE OF ROADWAY. TURNED THE IGNITION OFF, WAITED 1 MINUTE AND RESTARTED AND THE AUTO WAS NORMAL AGAIN. DAY LATER PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC SAME EPISODE AGAIN JUST BARLEY AVOIDING A COLLISION AGAIN. DEALERSHIP ADVISES FAULTY ELECTRIC THROTTLE BODY DEFECTIVE. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED IMMEDIATELY BEFORE THIS RESULTS IN A FATALITY. I HAD TWO SEPARATE INCIDENTS THAT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A FATALITY. WHEN THE VEHICLE GOES LIMP YOU ARE POWERLESS TO DO ANYTHING IF YOUR LUCKY TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT GETTING HIT FROM THE REAR OR T-BONED.
I WAS DRIVING AT 50 MPH DOWN A STATE ROAD AND THE CAR STALLED WITH NO WARNING. THERE WAS NO PLACE FOR ME TO PULL OVER AS THERE IS NO BREAKDOWN LANES AND CAR DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH POWER TO GO OVER CURB. CAR WAS TOWED TO THE NEAREST FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I WAS TOLD IT IS THE TROTTLE BODY. THE PART IS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER AND WAS TOLD THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THE PART WILL BE AVALIABLE. THIS CAR HAS 44120 MILES. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY BAD SITUATION IF THE TOW COMPANY I CALLED WAS NOT 4 MILES AWAY AND HURRY TO MY RESCUE KNOWING THAT I WAS ON A VERY FAST ROAD AND COULD NOT GET OUT OF ROAD TO SAFETY.

IN A CRASH INVOLVING A FRONT END COLLISION WHERE A TRUCK TURNED LEFT STRIKING OUR EDGE IN THE FRONT LEFT, THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. WE WERE TRAVELING ABOUT 25 MPH AND THE OTHER VEHICLE AT ABOUT 15-20 MPH. MY WIFE SUFFERED A FRACTURED LEG AND I BACK ISSUES. THE CRASH WAS SEVERE ENOUGH TO TOTAL THE VEHICLE. IT HAPPENED SO FAST I DID NOT APPLY BRAKES. THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS AN OLDER DODGE DAKOTA PICKUP.

THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY AND OPERATION ISSUED WITH THE PASSENGERS AND VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
