TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. WHEN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS CLOSED, THE INTERIOR LIGHTING AND DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
DRIVER DOOR ALARM BEEPS WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED. INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON. THIS OCCURRED EARLIER THIS YEAR AND FORD 'CLEANED OFF' THE SENSOR. STARTED TO HAPPEN AGAIN SEVERAL WEEKS AGO. FORD IS REPLACING THE SENSOR, BUT WE HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS BECAUSE THE ISSUE HAS NOT QUALIFIED FOR A RECALL. PLEASE SUBMIT A COMPLAINT IF THIS IS HAPPENING TO YOUR 2013 FORD EDGE.
WHEN I CLOSE MY DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND START MY 2013 FORD EDGE, IT THINKS MY DOOR IS AJAR. THIS IS A LATCH PROBLEM AND THE VEHICLE DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THAT THE DOOR IS CLOSED. AS A RESULT, THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK. I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS OF THIS PROBLEM ON THE WEB. I AM HOPING THAT THE NHTSA WILL FORCE FORD TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES AND FIX THE PROBLEM
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND IT FLIPPED OVER THREE TIMES. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. ALL FOUR PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED INJURIES. TWO OF THE PASSENGERS WERE TAKEN BY AMBULANCE TO THE HOSPITAL. ONE OF THE PASSENGERS HAD A LUMBAR FRACTURE, ONE HAD AN UPPER AND LOWER SPINAL FRACTURE, THE THIRD HAD A VERTEBRAL FRACTURE, AND THE DRIVER HAD ABRASIONS. THE THREE PASSENGERS HAD TO STAY IN THE HOSPITAL: TWO WERE DISCHARGED ON THE NOVEMBER 19, 2015 AND ONE HAD TO STAY IN THE HOSPITAL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. 2013 FORD EDGE LIMITED AWD 2 WEEKS BEFORE THANKSGIVING..THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN OUR GARAGE A FEW MINUTES AFTER MY WIFE GOT HOME FROM A 16 MILE ROUND TRIP TO TOWN. I HEARD A HIGH PITCH NOISE FROM THE ENGINE, PERFORMED A VISUAL INSPECTION AND SAW NO PROBLEMS. ASSUMED IT WAS NORMAL AND THAT IT WOULD TURN OFF ON ITS OWN. MOST NEW VEHICLES HAVE A FUNCTION TO TURN OFF ANY DEVICE BEFORE IT DRAINS THE BATTERY. THE NEXT DAY WE WENT TO START THE VEHICLE AND IT WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. JUMPED IT AND MY WIFE TOOK TO WORK. WORKED FINE THE REST OF THE DAY. SHE GOT HOME AND I HEARD THE NOISE AGAIN. CHECKED IT WITH BATTERY TESTER AND HAD A LOAD ON THE VEHICLE AND BATTERY WAS ALREADY DOWN TO 75%. TOOK TO LOCAL MECHANIC AND HE DIAGNOSED AS MECHANISM IN TRANSMISSION STAYING ON AND RECOMMENDED DEALER REPAIR. DEALER MISDIAGNOSED IT AS AFTERMARKET AUTOSTART 2 TIMES AND CHARGED ME TO REPLACE THE BATTERY THE SECOND TIME. FINALLY ON THE 4TH TRIP TO THE DEALER, THE MALFUNCTION HAPPENED WHILE THEY HAD THE VEHICLE. DEALER REPLACED MECHANISM IN TRANSMISSION, THIS DID NOT SOLVE PROBLEM. DEALER ORDERED DRIVE TRAIN COMPUTER(WAITED OVER A MONTH FOR PART), THIS HAS NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM. IT IS NOW THE FIRST WEEK OF FEBRUARY(ALMOST 3MNTHS LATER) AND THE VEHICLE IS STILL AT THE DEALER AND THEY CANNOT FIND WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!
WHEN DRIVING MY CAR THE ENGINE WILL GO TO IDLE WITH NO WARNING. I CAN BE MAKING A TURN, ACCELERATING, OR JUST CRUISING AT SPEED. THIS HAS BEEN RECALLED ON MOST ALL OTHER FORD VEHICLES. I COULD JUST GET IT REPLACED, BUT THE ISSUES IS NOT ONLY THE THROTTLE BODY, ITS THE PROGRAMMING. IF IT FINDS AN ISSUE WITH THE THROTTLE BODY IT GIVES UP, AND STALLS. IN THE RECALLED FORDS WITH THIS THEY HAVE CHANGED THE PROGRAMMING SO IT KEEPS TRYING TO ACCELERATE, NOT JUST GIVE UP. WITH THAT BEING SAID THERE IS NO POINT TO CHANGE IT, IT WILL ONLY HAPPEN AGAIN AFTER I SPEND $1000 TO FIX IT. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS! THE FIRST TIME I WAS MAKING A LEFT IN TO TRAFFIC AND IT CUT OUT, LUCKY FOR EVERYONE THEY HAD ENOUGH TIME TO STOP BEFORE I GOT T-BONED MY 3 LANES OF TRAFFIC. DOOR SWITCH, DRIVERS DOOR IS SHUT AND THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ON AND WILL NOT LOCK THE DOORS WHEN IN MOTION AND KEEPS THE DOME LIGHT ON . I HAVE MADE A COMPLAINT WITH FORD CASE NUMBER CAS8223825 . THEY DONE SEE TO CARE. WHY SHOULD I PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE A RECALL AS IT IS A SAFTY ISSUE

AS A RESULT, THE INTERIOR LIGHTING REMAINED ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE DOOR DID NOT LOCK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 22,400.
THE DOOR LATCH IS DEFECTIVE. IT READS THAT THE DOOR IS AJAR WHEN IT IS REALLY CLOSED.
FALUTLY DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LATCH SENSOR. MY DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ON AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WON'T GO OFF. WHEN DRIVING THE CONSOLE SCREEN BEEPS EVERY MINUTE TO TELL ME MY DOOR IS AJAR.
PARKING DOESN'T ENGAGE AT TIMES. I GET A MESSAGE "SHIFT TO PARK".
FOR THE SECOND TIME IN THE 40K MILES THAT I HAVE OWNED MY NEW FORD EDGE THE PTU SEAL HAS FAILED. THIS TIME WHEN THE DEALERSHIP TOOK IT APART TO REPLACE, THEY FOUND METAL SHAVINGS INSIDE, SO THEY ARE REPLACING THE ENTIRE UNIT. HORRIBLE SMELL, VERY CAUSTIC, MAKES MY NOSE BURN. HAPPENS AFTER DRIVING AND WHEN YOU COME TO A STOP OR SLOW DOWN THE CABIN FILLS WITH A NOXIOUS SMELL.

THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V495000(ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 37,045.

IT WAS DIFFICULT FOR THE CONTACT TO LOCK THE DOORS WHILE THE LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE RESULTS WERE UNKNOWN. THE MECHANIC SPRAYED COMPRESSED AIR IN BETWEEN THE DOOR CONTACTS, WHICH REMEDIED THE ISSUE TEMPORARILY. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
DOOR AJAR WARNING CONTINUES TO COME ON EVERY DAY. I HAVE HAD THE CAR IN ALREADY STILL DOES IT I HAVE TO SLAM DOOR TO GO OFF. STATIONARY AND IN MOTION.
TAKATA RECALL. WENT TO GET INTO MY 2013 FORD EDGE AND IT KEEPS TELLING ME DOOR AJAR. I HAVE TRIED SLAMMING THE DOOR AND NOTHING WORKS, THE LIGHT STAYS ON AND IT THEN CAUSES MY INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON UNTIL I DRIVE FAST ENOUGH THEN THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TURN OFF UNTIL I START TO SLOW DOWN AGAIN. IT THEN TELLS ME THAT MY DOOR AJAR AND TURNS MY LIGHTS BACK ON. THE SENSOR THAT I WAS TOLD IS BROKE IS ON BACK ORDER. THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000.
ABOUT 6-8 MONTHS AGO I TOOK MY VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER. THE PROBLEM WAS THE DRIVER DOOR SAYING IT WAS AJAR. I WOULD SHUT IT SEVERAL TIMES AND STILL THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT STILL CAME ON. IT WOULD CHIME LIKE THE DOOR WAS OPEN AND IT IS VERY DISTRACTING, DOORS DON'T LOCK AND INSIDE LIGHTS WON'T GO OFF. THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM BY "CLEANING " THE SENSOR. THE PROBLEM HAS STARTED AGAIN AND I NO LONGER HAVE THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY. I THINK THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL BECAUSE IT IS VERY DISTRACTING AND I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS HAD THIS COMPLAINT.

DRIVING ON A 3 LANE CITY ROAD IN THE LEFT MOST LANE AT 50 MILES AN HOUR WHEN I HEARD A SNAP. THEN IMMEDIATELY THE STEERING PULLED HARD TO THE LEFT. I FOUGHT IT BACK TO THE RIGHT WHILE BRAKING. EVENTUALLY THE CAR CAME TO A STOP. I GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND SAW THAT THE FRONT LEFT TIRE WAS FLIPPED 90 DEGREES TO THE LEFT AND WHAT APPEARED TO BE THE AXEL LAYING ON THE GROUND. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION IT WAS FOUND THAT THE BALL JOINT HAD BROKEN APART FROM THE REST OF THE DRIVE ASSEMBLY AND RIPPED OUT THE AXEL. THE VEHICLE IS AN ALL WHEEL DRIVE AND HAD 50,000 MILES. PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT THERE WAS ONGOING ALIGNMENT ISSUES THAT THE DEALER COULD NOT DIAGNOSE.
DOOR AJAR WARNING INDICATOR LIGHTS. LIGHTS STAY ON AND IF YOU LOCK THE DOOR WITH KEY AND WALK AWAY YOU HAVE A DEAD BATTER THEY NEXT DAY. REPEATED SHUTING OF DOOR WILL SOME TIMES WILL RESET DOOR AJAR BUT IT EVENTUALLY FAILS COMPLETELY AND REPEATED SLAMMING OF DOOR DOES NOTHING. PULLED FUSE TO INTERIOR LIGHTS TO KEEP BATTERY FROM DYING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE HESITATED AND MADE A LOUD BANGING NOISE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR DID NOT FEEL PROPERLY ENGAGED. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN DRIVE, IT STARTED TO ROLL BACKWARDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER FOR A WEEK, BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DUPLICATED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REMEDIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 26,000.
ON OCTOBER 20, 2015 WHILE DRIVING THE CAR ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET IT SUDDENLY LOST POWER. ENGINE CONTINUED TO RUN VERY ROUGH, SPUTTERING. ACCELERATOR WOULD NOT MAKE THE CAR SPEED UP OR INCREASE RPM. "WRENCH" SYMBOL POPPED ON.GOT CAR TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. WHILE WAITING TO HEAR ON CAR, RESEARCHED SYMPTOMS AND FOUND MANY OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS THAT PROBABLY IS THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY FAILURE. DEALERSHIP HAD CAR 2 DAYS, COULD NOT REPLICATE PROBLEM SO THEY DID NOTHING. SERVICE REP TOLD ME IT SOUNDED LIKE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY FAILURE AND TO WAIT FOR IT TO HAPPEN AGAIN AND THEN BRING IT IN. SAID IT WOULD HAPPEN AGAIN AND THEN WOULD HAPPEN MORE OFTEN. I AM SCARED TO DRIVE THIS CAR ON THE HIGHWAY AND DON'T KNOW WHY THIS PART HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED. THIS CAR WAS MY DREAM CAR AND NOW I AM STUCK WITH A NIGHTMARE. I WANT FORD TO RECALL OR DO A "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION CAMPAIGN" AND REPLACE THE PART SO I CAN HAVE A VEHICLE THAT I CAN DRIVE CONFIDENTLY. I FEEL THIS HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BE MORE THAN AN INCONVENIENCE AND COULD BE DEADLY. FORD, STAND BY ME!
DRIVER SIDE FRONT DOOR SENSOR HAS MALFUNCTIONED. IT INDICATES THE DOOR IS OPEN EVEN WHEN IT IS CLOSED. ALARMS SOUND AND THE DOORS DO NOT LOCK WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION. CAR WAS TAKEN TO FORD TO REPAIR AND I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD ONLY CLEAN THE CONTACTS WHICH IS ONLY A TEMPORARY SOLUTION AND EACH TIME THEY CHARGE A FEE.
THE VEHICLE DOES NOT SENSE THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT DOOR IS FULLY CLOSED. THIS RESULTS IN THE DOORS NOT LOCKING WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED OR IN MOTION. IT ALSO CAUSES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON FOR A LONG TIME. I THINK THAT BOTH OF THESE ISSUES ARE A SAFETY HAZARD.

AFTER ABOUT 40,000 MILES, MY CAR STARTED ALERTING ME THAT MY DRIVERS DOOR WAS AJAR WHEN CLEARLY IT WAS CLOSED. I CLOSED IT AGAIN AND AGAIN, BUT THE ALERT STILL WON'T GO OFF. THE INTERIOR DOME LIGHTS STAY ON AND THE DOORS DO NOT LOCK AFTER MOVING FORWARD DOWN THE ROAD. THIS CAN BE A REAL SAFETY ISSUE! I'M AFRAID SOMEONE MIGHT CARJACK ME WITH MY DOORS NOT LOCKING! ALSO, AS I STOP AT STOP SIGNS OR STOP LIGHTS, IT CONTINUALLY ALERTS ME TO PUT MY CAR IN PARK AND SHUT DRIVERS DOOR. WHEN I DO PARK, GET OUT AND LOCK MY CAR, THE DOME LIGHTS AGAIN WILL NOT GO OFF. I'M AFRAID I'LL COME OUT AFTER WORK TO A DEAD BATTERY! PLEASE DO SOMETHING! IT HAS BEEN DOING THIS SINCE OCTOBER 2015!
THE DRIVER SIDE REAR "DOOR AJAR" WARNING LIGHT GOES ON EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR IS CLOSED AND LOCKED. IT KEEPS THE INTERIOR LIGHTS ON EVEN WHEN I START DRIVING, WHICH IS VERY DISTRACTING DURING EVENING HOURS. THE LIGHTS STAY ON FOR MORE THAN 5 MINUTES AFTER PARKING THE CAR.
DOOR ADJAR WARNING KEEPS COMING ON EVEN AFTER DOOR IS SHUT HARD. BEEN TOLD IT'S A FAULTY DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY BY DEALER. VEHICLE DOES THIS WHEN STATIONARY.
THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR IS MALFUNCTIONING ON BOTH THE DRIVER DOOR AND DRIVER SIDE PASSENGER DOOR. IT IS SO BAD ON THE PASSENGER DOOR THAT I DO NOT EVEN USE IT ANY MORE BECAUSE IT IS SO HARD TO GET THE LIGHT TO GO OFF, SINCE IT STAYS ON EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR IS CLOSED. THE DRIVER DOOR IS ALSO EXTREMELY HARD TO GET THE SENSOR TO GO OFF, EVEN AFTER OPENING AND CLOSING THE DOOR MANY TIMES. I HAVE ALSO TRIED FLIPPING THE LOCK SWITCH OPEN AND CLOSED IN AN EFFORT TO GET THE SENSOR WORKING RIGHT SO THE LIGHT WILL GO OFF. MANY TIMES I AM DRIVING WITH THE INSIDE DOME LIGHTS ON. THERE HAVE ALSO BEEN TIMES WHEN THE LIGHT COMES ON WHILE I AM DRIVING. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING I HAVE GOOGLED FROM COMPRESSED AIR TO WD40 TO ELECTRICAL PARTS CLEANER, BUT THE FIX IS ONLY TEMPORARY. I AM ALMOST TO THE POINT OF CUTTING THE WIRE TO THE SENSOR SO THE DOOR AJAR ALARM AND LIGHT WILL GO OFF, BUT THEN THAT DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF THE SENSOR IN CASE THE DOOR WAS ACTUALLY AJAR. I HAVE SEEN THIS AS AN ISSUE SINCE 2011 AND I CANNOT BELIEVE IT HAS TAKEN FORD THIS LONG TO FIX THE PROBLEM. MY BROTHER-IN-LAW HAS AN EXPLORER WITH THE SAME LATCH/SWITCH AND HAS THE SAME PROBLEM.
VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY GO TO IDLE. AT ANY SPEED, I WAS RECENTLY MAKING A LEFT TURN THROUGH TRAFFIC AND IT DIED. TROUBLE CODES ARE P2111, AND P2112. THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE REST OF THE FORDS THAT HAD THE RECALL. THE FORD DEALER I CALLED ACKNOWLEDGED THIS PROBLEM, BUT SAID IT WOULD BE $1000 TO FIX. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS VERY OFTEN, AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED FOR THE FORD EDGE. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE!
FAULTY SWITCH CAUSES DRIVER'S DOOR AJAR INDICATOR TO STAY ON EVEN WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED. DOME LIGHTS STAY ON AND CAN NOT LOCK DOORS WHEN DRIVING.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF ON DRIVERS DOOR (FRONT LEFT) WHEN STARTING VEHICLE. WHEN TURNING OFF VEHICLE DOME LIGHTS WILL NOT GO OFF BOTH INSTANTS I HAVE TO CONTINUE TO OPEN AND CLOSE DOOR AND PLAY WITH THE LOCK UNTIL THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT OR DOME LIGHTS GOES OFF. I HAVE READ THAT THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM THAT FORD DOES NOT RECOGNIZE.
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AJAR SENSOR BECAME FAULTY WITH LESS THAN 50,000 MILES ON VEHICLE. DOOR REQUIRES MULTIPLE CLOSINGS IN ORDER FOR THE SENSOR TO IDENTIFY THAT THE DOOR IS CLOSED. IT IS AN ONGOING ISSUE SINCE 10/8/15.
DOOR AJAR ON DASH COMES ON AND STAYS ON. LIGHTS COME ON THEN. DOORS DO NOT AUTO LOCK WHEN THIS HAPPENS. GRANDCHILDREN ARE ABLE TO OPEN DOOR WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION
WHEN DOORS ARE CLOSED SENSOR IS STILL SHOWING OPEN DOORS, DOORS WILL NOT LOCK AND CABIN LIGHTS REMAIN ON, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR DRIVER TO RECOGNIZE AN ACTUAL OPEN DOOR WHICH THEN PLACES PASSENGERS IN DANGER WHEN DOOR DOES REMAIN OPEN. SENSOR DOESN'T RECOGNIZE DOORS TO BE CLOSED SO IT PROMPTS FOR CAR TO BE PLACED INTO PARK WHEN IN DRIVE SO DOOR CAN BE CLOSED. TODAY WHILE DRIVING MY DAUGHTER WHO WAS SITTING IN THE BACK SEAT HAD THE DOOR FLING OPEN WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. THE DOOR SENSOR HAS BEEN SHOWING THAT THE DOOR IS OPEN SO WHEN THE DOOR WAS ACTUALLY OPEN I WAS NOT ABLE TO TELL AND PUT HER IN DANGER.
THE DOOR SENSOR DOES NOT REGISTER THE DOOR AS BEING CLOSED, I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE FORD DEALER SEVERAL TIMES, BOTH WHILE STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND NOW NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY, AND THE PROBLEM RECURS ON BOTH FRONT DOORS. THIS IS A WELL KNOWN FLAW, WITH YOUTUBE VIDEOS ON REPAIR AND SERVICE. SHOULD BE SUBJECT TO A RECALL.
THE DRIVERS DOOR SENSOR INTERMITTENTLY DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE DOOR IS CLOSED AND THEREFOR WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY LOCK THE DOORS WHEN THE CAR MOVES. THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK MANUALLY WITH THE DOOR LOCK SWITCH AS THE SENSOR SEES THE DOOR AS BEING OPEN AND WILL AUTOMATICALLY AND IMMEDIATELY UN-LOCK THEM. MANUALLY LOCKING EACH DOOR WILL LOCK THE DOORS BUT THIS IS INCONVENIENT AND NOT A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM.
DRIVER DOOR AJAR ALARM INDICATOR IS ON ALL THE TIME EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED. THE AUTO LOCKING SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK, INTERIOR LIGHT STAYS ON. IN MOTION OR STATIONARY, UNDER ALL CONDITIONS.
DRIVER DOOR SHOWS AJAR EVEN WHEN CLOSED. HAVE TO CLOSE MULTIPLE TIMES TO GET THE SWITCH TO RECOGNIZE IT IS CLOSED.
PASSENGER DOOR SAYS AJAR AFTER SHUTTING DOOR. CAN OPEN AND SHUT OVER AND OVER AND SOMETIMES IT WILL GO OFF, OTHER TIMES WILL NOT. CAUSES LIGHTS TO STAY ON WHEN VEHICLE IS RUNNING AND NOT RUNNING. SAFETY CONCERN: THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK, LEAVING THE BACK DOORS UNLOCKED WITH SMALL CHILDREN ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR WHILE CAR IS IN MOTION.
ATTEMPTED TO LOCK DOOR AFTER 'DOOR AJAR' CHIMED ON. SLAMMED DOOR SEVERAL TIMES BUT THE WARNING DID NOT GO AWAY. DROVE TO WORK LIKE THIS AND THE DOORS DIDN'T LOCK AFTER GOING 10MPH. THIS OCCURS EVERYDAY. I DON'T KNOW IF MY DOOR WILL OPEN IF INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT OR WHAT. NOTHING HAS BEEN CORRECTED AS OF THIS WRITING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT OPENED AND CLOSED THE DOOR, BUT THE WARNING INDICATOR WAS STILL ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WARNING INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAINED ON WHILE DRIVING. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SLOW DOWN WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN, THE PARK ASSIST WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. AFTER THE CONTACT MADE THE TURN, THE PARK ASSIST WARNING INDICATOR WAS NO LONGER ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
