WHILE DRIVING DOWN A STREET, SUDDENLY THE "DRIVERS DOOR AJAR" ALARM AND WARNING LIGHT CAME ON ON THE DASH, THE DOOR WAS SECURED SHUT, BUT INTERIOR LIGHTS CAME ON AS IF DOOR WAS OPEN. SINCE THE INITIAL DATE OF INCIDENT THE VEHICLE NOW DOES THIS DURING OPERATION, WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS PARKED, OR IN MOTION. A CALL TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT IT WAS INDICATED THAT THIS HAS BEEN A COMPLAINT OF HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF LATE MODEL FORD OWNERS AND THAT, STILL AT THIS TIME, FORDMOCO HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR THE DOOR LATCHES, THUS IF NOT UNDER THEIR 3YR/36,000MILE WARRANTY THE PART WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED AT THE VEHICLE OWNERS EXPENSE OF AROUND $400-$500 U.S. FOR THE PART AND REPAIR. I WAS DIRECTED TO FILE A COMPLAINT VIA SAFERCAR.GOV WEBSITE, AND TO ALSO EXPLORE MANY INTERNET WEBSITES AND FORUMS RELATED TO THIS ONGOING ISSUE. UPON A BRIEF INTERNET SEARCH, I WAS EASILY ABLE TO FIND THAT INDEED THE FORD SERVICE ADVISER WAS CORRECT IN THE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS BY MANY LATE MODEL VEHICLE OWNERS CONCERNING THE DOOR LATCH SENSOR FAILURES, CAUSING THE ALARM/WARNING LIGHT TO ACTIVATE WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, OR PARKED, WHETHER THE VEHICLE WAS ON OR OFF.
THIS IS NOW THE SECOND TIME I'VE LOST ALL POWER WHILE DRIVING. THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN, STEERING BECOMES UNCONTROLLABLE AND THE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT COMES ON. CAR IS AT THE DEALERSHIP AS I TYPE AND I'M BEING TOLD THE CAR HAS NO CODES OF WHAT HAPPENED. I'M NOT SURE HOW A COMPUTER DOESN'T REGISTER A LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT OR HOW IT'S NOT HARD CODED SOMEWHERE IN THE COMPUTER SYSTEM THAT THE CAR JUST CUT OUT AT 5MPH. THE FIRST TIME I WAS OKAY AS NO ONE WAS IN FROM OF ME. THIS TIME I ALMOST WIPED OUT 2 CARS IN A PARKING STRUCTURE WHILE ON A DOWN HILL RAMP. *TR
DOOR LATCH DRIVER DOOR NEED TO REPLACE $415.00. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING AT 3 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF A VEHICLE AND INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MINOR BRUISES THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTO BODY REPAIR CENTER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000.
THE "DOOR AJAR" LIGHT COMES ON EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR IS PROPERLY CLOSED. DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHILE CAR IS IN MOTION. DOME LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF WHEN CAR IS STOPPED. THE PROBLEM BEGAN TWO WEEKS AFTER THE CAR CAME OFF OF WARRANTY AND HAS BEEN DOING THIS INTERMITTENTLY EVER SINCE.
DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR SENSOR INDICATES DOOR AJAR, PREVENTING OTHER FUNCTIONS OF THE VEHICLE FROM OPERATING NORMALLY, SUCH AS DOME LIGHT TURNING OFF WHILE DRIVING AND AFTER LOCKING DOORS, DOORS WILL NOT REMAIN LOCKED WHILE DRIVING AND OTHER RELATED FUNCTIONS. ISSUES CAUSES A DRAIN ON THE BATTERY UNTIL IT EVENTUALLY LOSES CHARGE, LEAVING DRIVER STRANDED. DOOR AJAR INDICATOR REMAINS ON THE ENTIRE TIME DURING OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE.
DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF, EVEN IF DOOR IS CLOSED. ONLINE RESEARCH SHOWS THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR YEARS WITH THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES. FORD WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE PROBLEM. COST TO REPAIR:$500 AND EVENTUALLY FOUR DOORS:$2000. INTERIOR LIGHTS DO NOT GO OFF CAUSING PROBLEM AT NIGHT.

I REPEATEDLY GET A DRIVER DOOR AJAR MESSAGE EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR IS CLOSED. THIS CAN OCCUR AS SOON AS I START THE ENGINE OR WHEN THE AUTOMATIC LOCKS TRY TO ENGAGE AS I START TO DRIVE. THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES WHEN IT CAME ON AFTER DRIVING FOR A LONGER PERIOD OF TIME. THE LOCKS DO NOT ENGAGE AND THIS CAUSES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO COME ON AND A CHIMING SOUND ALONG WITH A MESSAGE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK. IT IS A MAJOR DISTRACTION TO DRIVE WITH THE CHIMING WHICH GOES OFF BRIEFLY WHEN BRAKING BUT THEN RIGHT BACK ON WHEN I HIT THE GAS AGAIN. BESIDES THAT IF I'M DRIVING AT NIGHT THE INTERIOR LIGHTS MAKE IT DIFFICULT TO SEE WHERE I'M GOING. IT ALSO MAKES ME FEEL VERY UNEASY DRIVING WITH CHILDREN OR IN AN UNSAFE NEIGHBORHOOD KNOWING THAT I CANNOT KEEP THE DOORS LOCKED. I'VE TRIED CLOSING THE DOOR MULTIPLE TIMES. I USUALLY GIVE UP AFTER 6 OR 7 TRYS. I'VE HAD THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE 4 TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM. IT SEEMS TO BE FIXED TEMPORARILY BUT AFTER A FEW MONTHS IT STARTS ALL OVER AGAIN. I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT THIS IS NOT A SAFETY HAZARD AND THAT THERE ISN'T A PERMANENT FIX.
DOOR AJAR DRIVERS SIDE WILL NOT GO OFF, LIGHTS REMAIN ON, UNABLE TO GET THEM OFF. INABILITY TO LOCK DOORS, DOME LIGHT REMAINS ON CAUSING NIGHT DRIVING HAZARD, FALSE DOOR AJAR PREVENTS DRIVER FROM KNOWING REAL DOOR AJAR SITUATION
VEHICLE DOOR IS CLOSED BUT WARNING READS DOOR AJAR. DOORS WILL NOT LOCK BECAUSE THE DOOR IS AJAR BUT IT'S NOT. INSIDE STAYED ON FOR ABOUT 2 MIN WHILE DRIVING. SOMETIMES I GET I'M AND THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS THEN THE DOORS WILL UNLOCK AND THE DOOR AJAR SHIFT TO PARK POPS ON. OR I COULD BE DRIVING WITH THE DOOR AJAR WARNING ON BUT DOORS ARE CLOSED THEN THE DOORS LOCK AND WARNING GOES AWAY. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE SENSOR BUT THE DOOR CLOSES BUT DOES NOT LATCH. *TR
THE VEHICLE REPORTS AN OPEN DOOR WHEN ALL DOORS ARE CLOSED. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WILL NOT TURN OFF AND THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK UNTIL THE DOOR IS REPORTED CLOSED.

DRIVER'S DOOR IS SHUT TIGHTLY, BUT "DRIVER DOOR AJAR" LIGHT KEEPS COMING UP INTERMITTENTLY. ALSO, DOME LIGHTS STAY ON AND WARNING SOUNDS. STARTED OFF OCCASIONALLY DOING THIS, NOW IS DOING PRACTICALLY EVERY TIME YOU GO TO START THE ENGINE. *TR
IT STARTED OVER THE PAST FEW WEEKS. START THE CAR AND THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON REGARDLESS IS I OPEN AND CLOSE THE DOOR HARDER. PUT THE CAR IN GEAR AND YOU HAVE THE WARNING LIGHTS TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK. THE DOOR LOCKS WILL NOT LOCK DURING ONE OF THESE EPISODES AND THE DOME LIGHTS STAY ON. I ALSO LOCK MY CAR DOORS AT NIGHT ONLY TO FIND THAT THEY HAVE UNLOCKED THEMSELVES DURING THE NIGHT AND MY HEADS LIGHTS HAVE TURNED ON AS WELL. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 6 TIMES. NOT VERY HAPPY RIGHT NOW!!!! *TR
DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON EVEN WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED THE INTERIOR DOME LIGHTS WILL NOT GO OFF. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR INDICATOR LIGHTS WHEN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR IS CLOSED. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS AT OPENING AND CLOSING THE DOOR, THE INDICATOR SHUTS OFF. THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON UNTIL THE INDICATOR SHUTS OFF. THE INDICATOR HAS COME ON WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING THE DOME LIGHT TO COME ON AND THE DOOR LOCKS TO UNLOCK. THIS SITUATION HAS IMPAIRED MY VISIBILITY DURING NIGHT TIME DRIVING. THE DOME LIGHT WILL DRAW DOWN THE BATTERY IF YOU ARE NOT AWARE THAT IT IS ON WHEN LEAVING THE VEHICLE. *TR
DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR SENSOR BAD. NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU SLAM THE DRIVERS DOOR, THE SENSOR GIVES A DASH WARNING LIGHT THAT DRIVER DOOR IS AJAR. *TR
THE "DRIVER DOOR AJAR" LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF. THIS CAUSES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON, THE WARNING CHIME TO RING AND THE DOORS WILL NOT STAY LOCKED. *TR
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HAS A DOOR AJAR ALARM WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED TIGHTLY . LIGHTS STAY ON AND DOORS DO NOT LOCK. *TR
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR KEEPS STATING IT IS OPEN WHEN IT IS CLOSED. CONTINUES TO STAY ON UNTIL MULTIPLE CLOSURES OF THE DOOR.
THE FRONT DOOR LOCK SENSOR DOESN'T WORK. WHEN THE DOOR IS SHUT THE SENSOR DOESN'T SENSE THAT THE DOOR IS SHUT, CAUSING THE NOTICE TO DIRECT USER TO SHIFT CAR IN PARK TO SHUT DOOR, WHEN IT'S ALREADY SHUT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO CLOSE THE DOORS UNTIL THE WARNING LIGHTS STOPPED ILLUMINATING, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
THE DOOR LATCH SENSOR DOESN'T SEEM TO BE WORKING. THE DOOR IS CLOSED BUT IS SAYS IT'S NOT. I CAN NOT LOCK THE DOORS AND MY OVERHEAD LIGHTS STAY ON AND THE BATTERY WILL DIE. I'VE TAKEN IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP BEFORE AND THEY SAY THE SENSORS ARE DIRTY AND THEY CLEANED THEM, BUT IT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. IT HAPPENS AT ALL TIMES (STATIONARY OR MOVING)

AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE DOOR AJAR AND SHIFT INTO PARK WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AND THE DOOR CHIME INDICATOR SOUNDED AFTER ALL OF THE DOORS WERE CLOSED. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAINED ILLUMINATED THE ENTIRE TIME. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS AND SWITCH IN THE DRIVER'S DOOR ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON. HAVE TO SLAM THE DOOR AT LEAST 3-4 TIMES BEFORE IT GOES OFF. HAD IT LOOKED AT THE DEALER ONLY TO HAVE THEM ONLY CLEAN THE DOOR LATCH. WHEN PROBLEM RETURNED THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY, TOO MANY MILES AND WOULD COST OVER $350.00 TO REPLACE DOOR LATCH. THERE IS CLEARLY A PROBLEM WITH THIS AS MY VEHICLE IS NOT THE ONLY VEHICLE DOING THIS. THE OTHER CONCERN BESIDES THE DOOR POSSIBLY FLYING OPEN, IS HAVING TO REPLACE THE BATTERY AS THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME AFTER SHUTTING THE CAR OFF AND NOT BEING ABLE TO LOCK THE CAR BECAUSE IT THINKS THE DOOR IS AJAR. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND IN MOTION.
WHEN THE DRIVER'S DOOR IS CLOSED THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR REMAINS ON ALTHOUGH THE DOOR IS DEFINITELY CLOSED. THE DOOR HAS TO BE SLAMMED SHUT ANYWHERE FROM 3-7 TIMES BEFORE THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR SHUTS OFF. AT TIMES IT SHUTS OFF AND WHILE DRIVING IT COMES BACK ON. IF THE SENSOR REMAINS ON THE DOORS WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY LOCK. *TR
PROBLEM WITH DRIVER DOOR AJAR SENSOR ACTIVATING WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED. WAS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY, THEN PROBLEM RECURRED ABOUT 10 MONTHS LATER AFTER VEHICLE WARRANTY LAPSED. FORD WILL NOT COVER REPAIRS NOW. AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS WILL NOT FUNCTION WITH THIS SENSOR PROBLEM. INTERIOR LIGHTS ALSO STAY ON WHICH REDUCES VISIBILITY.

THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LATCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER THE WARRANTY, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED A SECOND TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE DRIVER DOOR LATCH IS GETTING REPLACED AS IT TELLS US THAT THE DOOR IS OPEN WHEN IT IS NOT. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THEY HAVE SEEN THIS HAPPEN IN A LOT OF FORD EDGE'S. IT IS COSTING ME $350.00 AND I WOULD LIKE MY MONEY BACK FROM FORD. I DON'T BELIEVE THAT A 2013 SHOULD BE HAVING THOSE KIND OF ISSUES AND FORD SHOULD FIX THE ISSUE. *TR

THE CONTACT OPENED AND CLOSED THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LIGHTS REMAINED ON AND THE DOOR CHIME REMAINED ON WHILE DRIVING. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000.
VEHICLE IS STALLING AT RED LIGHT AND ON THE FREEWAY AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSTICS SYSTEMS SUGGESTS THE THROTTLE BODY IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE BUT FORD REFUSES TO ISSUE A RECALL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT ALL THE AUTOMATIC LOCKS WERE UNLOCKED, THE CHIME SOUNDED, AND THE DOORS WOULD NOT LOCK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
DOOR AJAR WARNING MALFUNCTION. THE DOOR AJAR ALARM WILL NOT CLEAR EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS SHUT. THIS CAUSES THE DOORS TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHILE THE VEHICLE IS UNDERWAY, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ILLUMINATED(EVEN AT NIGHT) WHICH IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN.
DOOR LATCH DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY. "DOOR AJAR" LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON AND YOU CANT LOCK THE DOORS. "SHIFT TO PARK" LIGHT AND BELL COMES ON AT ANY STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN AS WELL AS "ENGINE ON" LIGHT AND BELL. JUST A FEW OF THE BELLS AND LIGHTS THAT COME ON.
THE PROBLEM I'M HAVING WITH MY EDGE IS THE RADIO CONTINUE TO PLAY WHEN I TURN THE CAR OFF AND TAKE THE KEYS OUT THE IGNITION AND THE DRIVER DOOR LIGHT STAYS ON I HAVE TO CLOSE THE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE LIGHT GOES OFF I'VE TAKEN IT IN TO THE DEALER FOR THE DOOR LIGHT NOW IT HAVE STARTED AGAIN 03/19/2015 I THINK ANOTHER OWNER HAD THE CAR BUT WHEN I GOT THE CAR THEY SAID IT WAS NEW I WORK FOR A CAR COMPANY AND I NEVER KNOWN A CAR COMPANY TO PUT DOOR GUARDS ON A CAR/TRUCK I'M THINKING THEY FOUND OUT ABOUT WHAT I'M DEALING WITH AND TURNED THE CAR BACK IN AND THE CAR COMPANY DID NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT THE RADIO INCIDENT STARTED A FEW MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASE THE TRUCK. *TR
THE DOOR LOCK SENSOR HAS BECOME DEFECTIVE ON THE CAR CAUSING THE DOOR AJAR WARNING TO STAY ON AT ALL TIMES. BEING A NURSE, I GO TO WORK VERY EARLY AND TRAVEL FOR 30 MILES EACH WAY. WHEN THIS ISN'T SENSOR ISN'T WORKING THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHILE THE KEY IS IN THE IGNITION AND THERE IS A CONSTANT DINGING NOISE TO CLOSE THE DOOR AGAIN EVERY TIME I STOP. DRIVING TO DOWNTOWN DALLAS IS VERY UNSAFE IN THE MY CAR NOW. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON FOR MILES AND IT IS HARD TO DRIVE IN THE DARK WITH THE INTERIOR LIGHTS ON. TWO DEALERSHIPS SAY THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM ON THE FORD EDGE AND THEY HAVE RECEIVED BULLETINS ON THE PROBLEM BUT NO RECALL. THEY SAY THE SENSOR NEEDS TO BE TAKEN OUT AND CLEANED, IT IS NOT BROKEN THEREFORE THE WARRANTY NOR EXTENDED WARRANTY WILL NOT COVER THE $400 REPAIR. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, ALL THE INTERIOR LIGHTING ILLUMINATED AND THE DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD TO REPEATEDLY OPEN AND CLOSE THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR IN ORDER TO STOP THE LIGHT FROM ILLUMINATING. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. WHILE APPROACHING A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,800.
DOOR ADJAR LIGHT REMAINS ON AFTER DOOR IS CLOSED. BEGAN AS INTERMITTENT PROBLEM, BUT NOW IS CONSTANT. DUE TO THIS ISSUE, DOME LIGHTS STAY ON, DOOR ADJAR LIGHT AND WARNING TONES WILL NOT TURN OFF, AND DOORS DO NOT LOCK.
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR CAN BE CLOSED AND LIGHT WILL COME ON SAYING DOOR AJAR EVEN IF THE DOOR IS SHUT. THIS MAKES ME STOP THE CAR AND CLOSE DOOR AGAIN.
DOOR AJAR SENSOR LIGHT COMES ON WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED, IT TAKES UP TO 3 TO 5 TIMES TO CLOSE DOOR FOR THE LIGHT DOOR AJAR SENSOR LIGHT TO GO OFF. *TR
DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR SENSOR NOT WORKING..WONT ALLOW DOORS TO LOCK WHILE DRIVING BELL CONTINUES TO RING WHILE DRIVING AND DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON WHILE DRIVING. THESE FACTORS CAUSES HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS WHILE DRIVING. BEING UNABLE TO LOCK DOORS IS VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE CHILDREN IN THE CAR. SOMEONE CAN OPEN YOUR DOOR AND HARM YOU. THERE IS SO MANY COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY. RECALL A MUST. *TR
THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AJAR SENSOR DOES NOT GO OFF WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED. THE DOME LIGHTS STAY ON, NOT SAFE AT NIGHT, AND YOU ARE UNABLE TO LOCK YOUR DOORS WHILE INSIDE THE VEHICLE. NOT TO MENTION THE CONSTANT ANNOYANCE OF THE CHIME GOING OFF. *TR
DRIVER DOOR SENSOR DOES NOT SENSE THE DOOR IS CLOSED. THIS PREVENTS THE OVER HEAD DOME LIGHT FROM SHUTTING OFF, WHICH AT NIGHT MAKING IT HARD TO SEE OUT THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. THE DOOR LOCKS ALSO WILL NOT STAY LOCKED EVEN IF YOU MANUALLY PUSH DOWN THE INDICATOR. THIS ALLOWS MY CHILDREN TO OPEN THE REAR DOORS AS WE DRIVE DOWN THE STREET. I WAS TOLD TWICE NOW THAT THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE AND NOTHING IS BROKEN, SO IT ISNT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY OR A RECALL.
DRIVER SIDE DOOR SENSOR CLAIMS THE DOOR IS OPEN WHEN IT IS NOT. THE LIGHTS INSIDE THE VEHICLE STAY ON AND THE DASH WILL SAY DRIVER DOOR AJAR. IF YOU SHIFT TO DRIVE, THEN THE CAR WILL DING AND ASK YOU TO SHIFT TO PARK.
THE DOOR LATCH ON THE 2013 FORD EDGE IS FAULTY, AND CONTINUALLY HAS TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IN 6 MONTHS WE HAVE HAD TO HAVE THIS REPLACED, AND THIS TIME, WE ARE 3000 MILES OVER OUR WARRANTY, AND ARE HAVING TO GO OUT OF POCKET FOR THIS - AN EXPENSE OF OVER $300. ADDITIONALLY, BECAUSE THE DOOR LATCH DOESN'T WORK CORRECTLY, IT CONTINUALLY CAUSES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS OF THE CART TO STAY ON, WHICH HAS CAUSED THE BATTERY TO DEPLETE, AND WE ARE NOW FACING THE CHARGE FOR A NEW BATTERY AS WELL IN ORDER TO GET OUR VEHICLE IN WORKING ORDER. LASTLY, FORD INFORMED US TODAY THAT THE FACTORY BATTERY THAT THEY INSTALLED IS "TOO SMALL" FOR THIS SIZE VEHICLE, AND A LARGER CAPACITY BATTERY SHOULD BE PUT IN ITS PLACE. WE PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW, AND ISSUES LIKE THIS MAKE US FEEL AS IF WE'VE PURCHASED A LEMON. FORD IS NOW CHARGING US FOR A PART THAT IS CLEARLY POORLY MANUFACTURED, AND AS A CONSEQUENCE, CAUSING US TO BUY ADDITIONAL PARTS LIKE BATTERIES TO SUPPORT THEIR MISTAKES. *TR
DRIVER DOOR AJAR WARNING STAYS ON. WITH THAT THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON AND CAR WILL NOT LOCK WHILE DRIVING. DRAINS BATTERY. ALARM KEEPS BEEPING AS I'M DRIVING. ALL ARE SAFETY CONCERNS.
