THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR KEEPS READING DOOR AJAR EVEN THO THE DOOR IS CLOSED. IT HAPPENS NOT ONLY WHEN THE CAR IS OFF AND WE GO TO LOCK IT, BUT WHILE WE ARE DRIVING AS WELL. IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING THE CAR WILL BEGIN TO MAKE ALERT SOUNDS, THE LIGHTS WILL COME ON, AND IT WILL ALERT US TO PUT THE CAR INTO PARK. WHEN WE DO PARK AND GO TO LOCK THE CAR, THE DOME LIGHTS STAY ON UNTIL THE TIMER SHUTS THEM OFF BECAUSE IT IS STILL REGISTERING THE DOOR AS AJAR. MY MAIN CONCERN WITH THIS PROBLEM IS THAT WE HAVE A NEWBORN AND THE SAFETY ISSUES WITH DRIVING THIS VEHICLE WHILE ALERTS ARE GOING OFF IS VERY TROUBLESOME. I HAVE SET AN APPOINTMENT UP WITH THE FORD DEALERSHIP TO LOOK AT THE DOOR, BUT AFTER REVIEWING THE GROSS NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE, IT IS MIND BLOWING TO ME THAT FORD HAS NOT STEPPED UP AND ADDRESSED THIS ISSUE YET. HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSE TO FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING IF THE CAR IS CONSTANTLY ALERTING AND TELLING YOU THAT YOUR DRIVER DOOR IS OPEN? *TR
DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS LIT ON EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS SHUT CAUSING INTERIOR LIGHT TO STAY ON AS WELL! CAUSING BATTERY TO DRAIN. FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED (12/8/14), WENT TO DEALERSHIP AND HAD TO PAY TO HAVE IT FIXED, FORD SPLIT THE COST. SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED 2/28/16; IF I HAVE TO PAY TO GET IT FIXED AGAIN, WILL SELL IT AND NEVER BUY ANOTHER FORD!
DRIVER'S DOOR OPEN LIGHT COMES ON WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED. THIS HAPPENS VERY OFTEN AND CAUSES INTERIOR LIGHT TO STAY ON. WARNING LIGHT "SHIFT TO PARK" AND WARNING SOUND COMES ON WHILE DRIVING. *TR
THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON. THIS RESULTS IN CONTINUES ALERTS AND BEEPS WHILE DRIVING AND CAUSES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON WHEN AWAY FROM VEHICLE. NO MATTER HOW HARD I SLAM THE DOOR I CONTINUE TO GET A MESSAGE THAT THE DOOR IS AJAR. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG FORD EDGE VEHICLES AS DESCRIBED IN MANY USER FORUMS ONLINE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
SUBMISSION FROM CONSTITUENT RE 2013 FORD EDGE ENGINE STALL. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED, THE VEHICLE SHOOK, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED, ALL WITHIN SECONDS OF THE VEHICLE STALLING. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO FIND A PROBLEM. *JB
"DOOR AJAR" LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF AND INTERIOR LIGHTS AND PANEL LIGHT LIGHTS WILL NOT GO OFF AFTER DOOR IS SHUT AND LOCKED. HAVE TO REOPEN DOOR AND START ENGINE, OPEN AND CLOSE DRIVER DOOR SEVERAL ITEMS TO GET INTERIOR LIGHTS, PANEL LIGHTS AND "DOOR AJAR" LIGHT TO GO OFF. ONLY HAPPENS WITH DRIVER DOOR. *TR
THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS SHUT. I HAVE TO SLAM THE DOOR HARD 4-5 TIMES TO GET IT TO GO OFF. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND THE ALERT TO "SHIFT TO PARK". I TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALER WHO CHARGED ME $80 TO SAY THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. I CAME HOME, KNOWING THIS WASN'T RIGHT AND FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. FORD NEEDS TO PLACE A RECALL ON THIS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE DRIVER DOOR UNLOCKED AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS ILLUMINATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AJAR WARNING/INDICATOR LIGHT IT NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO GET IT TO SWITCH OFF. IF THE WARNING LIGHT IS ON THEN THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK AND THE DOORS MUST LOCK SO 'WE' I CAN FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE EDGE. IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AROUND WITH THE DOORS UNLOCKED THESE DAYS! IT SOMETIMES TAKE MANY MULTIPLE SLAMS OF THE DOOR TO GET IT TO GO OFF AND THE DOOM LIGHT TO ALSO TURN OFF. SOMETIMES THERE IS NO WAY TO GET THE WARNING LIGHT TO TURN OFF (SO THE DOOM LIGHT STAYS ON), WHICH KILLS THE BATTERY. THERE ARE MANY HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS OF THESE COMPLAINTS ONLINE, SO PLEASE MAKE FORD DO THE RIGHT THINK AND CORRECT THEIR KNOWN PROBLEM! WHEN THE DOOR DOES NOT LATCH THE LOCKS WILL NOT ENGAGE, AN UN-LACHED DOOR IS BAD ENOUGH BUT NOT HAVING A LOCKED DOOR AT SOME RED LIGHTS CAN BE A LITERAL KILLER OR A LITERAL MUGGING!
THE DOOR AJAR INDICATOR IS ACTIVE WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED. IT WILL REMAIN SAYING AJAR AFTER MULTIPLE (30+) TRIES TO OPEN AND CLOSE THE DOOR BEFORE IT RIGHTS ITSELF. THIS HAS BECAME DANGEROUS AS DURING NIGHT TIME THE INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ON AND IMPAIRS DRIVERS ABILITY TO SEE SURROUNDINGS. ALSO, SINCE THIS ISSUE BECOMES IRRITATING, IT CAUSES THE DRIVER TO OPEN AND CLOSE THE DOOR MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING, IN HOPES THE SENSOR WILL CORRECT ITSELF. DUE TO THESE ISSUE I EXPECT FORD TO WARRANTY THE DOOR SWITCH SENSOR FOR A MORE RELIABLE DESIGN.
DRIVER SIDE DOOR SYMBOL WILL APPEAR ON DASH BOARD WAS WELL AS DOOM LIGHTS WILL STAY ON, WILL HAVE TO SHUT DOOR A COUPLE OF TIMES OR TURN THE CAR BACK ON TO RESET. THIS NOW GETTING TO THE POINT THAT THE CAR CANNOT BE LOCKED OR THE DOOM INTERIOR LIGHTS WILL STAY ON AND DRAIN THE BATTERY. *TR
WHEN I CLOSE THE DRIVERS DOOR, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WILL NOT SHUT OFF AND THE WARNING LIGHT SAYING THE DOOR IS OPEN COMES ON. I'VE EVEN HAD INSTANCES WHERE THE DOOR WILL BE CLOSED, I START DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THEN THE LIGHT WILL COME ON SAYING THE DOOR ISN'T LATCHED. MOST OF THE TIME, IT TAKES OVER 10 TIMES OF OPENING AND CLOSING THE DOOR BEFORE IT WILL LATCH AND THE LIGHTS WILL TURN OFF. AND IT IS STEADILY GETTING WORSE. THE DOOR IS CLEARLY SHUT...BUT THE SENSOR THINKS THE DOOR IS STILL OPEN. *TR
I PARKED THE VEHICLE IN THE DRIVEWAY ON THE 11/23/2014 , L HAD TO BACK UP A LITTLE BIT THEN PARKED. WHEN L WAS GOING TO THE GARBAGE BIN L NOTICED OIL ON THE GROUND, WHICH WAS NEVER THERE. I TOUCHED THE GROUND WITH MY FINGER AND SMELT IT, REALIZED THAT IT WAS FRESH MOTOR OIL. THIS IS A 2013 VEHICLE. THERE IS NO OTHER VEHICLE THAT PARKS AT THAT SPOT, JUST TO REITERATE THE FACT THAT THE OIL CAME FROM MY VEHICLE. *TR
THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT WILL COME ON ALONG WITH INTERIOR LIGHT AT RANDOM TIMES. IT HAPPENS WHEN FIRST ENTERING THE VEHICLE IN THE MORNING AND ALSO WHEN DRIVING AT ALL TIMES THROUGH THE DAY. THE ONLY FIX WE'VE FOUND IS SLAMMING THE DOOR SHUT A FEW TIMES. *TR
FOGGY MORNING, WENT TO PASS A SEMI TRUCK AND THE ENGINE DECELERATED WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL. I WAS NOT ABLE TO PASS THE SEMI, HAD TO MOVE BACK, PULLED OVER AND TURNED THE ENGINE OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES. CONTINUED ON AFTERWARDS, NO PROBLEMS. *TR
SENSOR IN DRIVERS DOOR LATCH SENDS MESSAGE TO DASH PANEL "DOOR AJAR". THIS RESULTS IN A WARNING BELL EVERY TIME CAR STARTS FROM COMPLETE STOP. WE ARE CONCERNED THERE MIGHT BE SOMETHING ELSE WRONG & WE WOULDN'T NOTICE THE WARNING AS IT HAPPENS SO OFTEN AS WE DRIVE. *TR

DRIVER DOOR AJAR SENSOR MALFUNCTIONING AND INTERIOR LIGHT STAYS ON AND DOOR IS FULLY CLOSED ONLY HAVE 41,000 TO OPEN AND CLOSE TOO MANY TIMES FOR IT TO GO OUT AND IF THAT EVEN WORKS. *TR
WHEN CLOSE DOOR IT SAYS DOOR AJAR AND DOOR AJAR COMES ON AND DOME LIGHT STAYS ON. THIS HAPPENS ABOUT 60 PERCENT OF THE TIME. *TR
THIS HAS NOW HAPPENED TO ME THREE TIMES AND ALL THREE TIMES WERE DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND I WAS LUCKY TO NOT BE HIT FROM BEHIND. I WILL BE DRIVING AND I SUDDENLY GET A WRENCH LIGHT ON MY DASH BOARD AND THEN LOSE THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE MY CAR AND IT BASICALLY COASTS TO A STOP AND I CAN FEEL A SHAKING/RUMBLING FROM THE ENGINE. WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TURN IT OFF, I CAN TURN IT BACK ON AND IT IS LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED AND THE LIGHT GOES AWAY AND I CAN CONTINUE DRIVING HOME. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY CAN ONLY FIX IT IF THEY SEE THE WRENCH LIGHT ON SO THEY CAN PULL THE CODE, MEANING I HAVE TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER WHILE STILL ON. ONLY PROBLEM IS EVERY TIME IT HAS HAPPENED HAS BEEN AFTER WORK AT NIGHT WHEN THE DEALERS ARE ALREADY CLOSED. I AM NOW NERVOUS EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE CAR AND AM AFRAID TO GET ON HIGHWAYS. *TR
THE SYSTEM IS SHOWING A "DOOR AJAR" ALARM, DRIVERS FRONT DOOR. INITIALLY I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST BECAUSE I DID NOT CLOSE THE DOOR ENOUGH SO I OPENED IT AND PULLED HARDER AND THE ALARM WENT AWAY. WE DROVE THE CAR FOR A FEW DAYS AND ONE MORNING WHEN IT WAS COLD I CLOSED THE DOOR AND THE ALARM POSTED AGAIN AFTER OPENING AND CLOSING THE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES THE ALARM WENT AWAY. WE DROVE THE CAR A FEW MORE DAYS AND THE ALARM WAS POSTING 50 % OF THE TIME. AROUND DECEMBER THE ALARM BEGAN POSTING MOST OF THE TIME, NOW IT POST 100% OF THE TIME EVEN ON THE WARM DAYS. THERE ARE AT LEAST THREE ISSUES WHEN THE ALARM IS ON. 1.THE DOME LIGHTS STAY ON AFTER THE CAR IS TURNED OFF FOR AROUND 20 MINUTES, I'M SURE THIS IS NOT GOOD ON THE BATTERY. 2.THE DOME LIGHTS DO NOT GO OFF WHILE IN REVERSE, THEY ONLY GO OFF AFTER YOU ARE IN DRIVE AND MOVE FORWARD FOR QUITE A FEW FEET. THIS MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO SEE OUT OF THE WINDOWS AFTER DARK. 3.THE DOORS DO NOT LOCK AFTER STARTING THE ENGINE. *TR
DRIVER DOOR AJAR SENSOR DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THAT DOOR IS CLOSED. THIS PREVENTS ALL DOORS FROM BEING IN THE LOCKED POSITION WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE. MANUALLY LOCKING THE DOORS IS OVERRIDDEN BY THE SYSTEM AND AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCKED. THERE IS NO WAY TO OPERATED THE VEHICLE WITH THE DOORS IN THE LOCKED POSITION. *TR
DOOR AJAR SWITCH NOT WORKING PROPERLY - IT INTERMITTENTLY INDICATES THE DOOR IS STILL OPEN. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON, AND "DOOR AJAR" WARNING IS ANNUNCIATED. ADDITIONALLY, THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHILE DRIVING, AND CANNOT BE LOCKED AFTER PARKING IF TRYING TO USE THE EXTERIOR KEYPAD. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND PREVENTED THE DOORS FROM LOCKING WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR SENSOR MALFUNCTIONED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
MY DOOR SENSOR ON MY DRIVER'S SIDE CONTINUES TO ALERT ME THAT IT'S OPEN, WHEN IT ISN'T. THIS CAUSES MY DOME LIGHT TO STAY ON AND ALL MY DOORS NOT TO LOCK. I HAVE TO SLAM MY DOOR HARD MULTIPLE TIMES TO GET IT TO GO OFF, OR JUST DRIVE WITH IT ON. *TR

THE INTERIOR LIGHTING AND DOOR AJAR WARNING INDICATOR CONTINUED TO FLASH. THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM A MANUFACTURER RECALL TO ADDRESS THE DOOR AJAR FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR SAYS THAT IT IS AJAR WHEN IT ISNT. SO ANNOYING. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WILL BE 250 DOLLARS TO FIX. WTF? I HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR 2 DAYS. *TR

CAN HEAR SWITCH CLICK WHEN MANUALLY OPERATED BUT DOOR AJAR ALARM WILL NOT GO OUT. THIS PREVENTS VARIOUS OTHER THINGS FROM OPERATING PROPERLY INCLUDING SAFETY FEATURES. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECTIVE PART THAT FORD HAS INSTALLED IN MANY OF THEIR VEHICLES. EVERY WHERE I TURN THERE ARE PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM. MOST OF THESE CARS ARE NOT EVEN 2 YEARS OLD. *TR

INSTRUMENT PANEL SHOWS DRIVER AJAR WHEN DOOR IS NOT AJAR. DOOR HAS TO BE OPENED AND CLOSED REPEATEDLY UNTIL INSTRUMENT PANEL NO LONGER SHOWS DRIVER DOOR AJAR. THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT WILL RANDOMLY COME ON WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING CABIN LIGHTS TO COME ON, WHICH IS ESPECIALLY HAZARDOUS WHEN IT IS DARK OUT. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH MULTIPLE FORD VEHICLES AND MUST BE ADDRESSED. *TR
NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU CLOSE THE DOOR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF OUR FORD EDGE. THE DOOR LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AND DEMANDING YOU PUT THE CAR PARK TO SHUT THE DOOR. HOWEVER THE DOOR TAKES FOR EVER TO REGISTER THAT IT IS CLOSED AND SOMETIMES DOESN'T REGISTER. *TR
2013 FORD EDGE WITH 30,000 MILES ON IT. DOOR AJAR ALARM AND LIGHT COME ON AFTER VEHICLE IS UNDERWAY. OVERHEAD LIGHTS COME ON BLINDING DRIVER AT NIGHT. LIGHTS AND SWITCH REMAIN ON DESPITE REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO SLAM DOOR WHILE DRIVING. SMELL OF GASOLINE WHILE IDLING INDICATES FUEL LEAKING FROM SYSTEM POSING FIRE HAZARD. DEFECTIVE PARTS CREATE DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR DRIVER AND PASSENGERS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR SENSOR NEEDED TO BE CLEANED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000.
PASSENGER DOOR AJAR ICON IS LIT ON THE BOARD AFTER I CLOSE DOOR AND DOORS NEVER LOCK, DRIVING WITH DOOR UNLOCKED. LIGHTS STAY ON ALL THE TIME,DRAINING BATTERY, SO I PULLED BULBS FROM CEILING TO SAVE BATTERY. WHEN I STOP OR PARK THE CAR, LOCKING THE CAR WITH KEY REMOTE SOUND TWICE AND LIGHTS NEVER SHUTS. I BELIEVE IS HAZARDOUS TO DRIVE THE CAR WITH DOOR UNLOCK.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE CITY STREETS AND WITHOUT ANY WARNING, THE POWER STEERING KICKED OUT. I DIDN'T REALIZE THIS AND WAS ALREADY COMMITTED TO MAKING A RIGHT TURN. I HAD TO USE ALL MY STRENGTH TO MAKE THE TURN AND STAY ON THE ROAD. AFTER CLEARING THE INTERSECTION I NOTICED THE CAR WAS NOT ACCELERATING, INSTEAD IT WAS DECELERATING. THE CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP ON THE MAIN ROAD. I QUICKLY PUT ON MY BLINKERS. THE CAR THEN GAVE A "LOW ENGINE OIL PRESSURE" ERROR MESSAGE. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK, WAITED A MINUTE, AND RESTARTED W. I WOULD HAVE HAD A BIG PROBLEM IF THE CAR STALLED OUT IN THE LEFT TURN OR IF I COULDN'T OVERPOWER THE STEERING COMPONENTS AND WENT OFF THE ROAD. *TR
WHILE DRIVING - EVEN THOUGH THE DRIVER DOOR IS COMPLETELY SHUT, THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR WARNING SIGN APPEARS ON THE DASHBOARD SCREEN ACCOMPANIED BY THE SOUND OF A CHIME. SOMETIMES WHEN YOU OPEN AND SHUT THE DRIVER DOOR WHETHER WHILE STILL DRIVING OR IF AND WHEN YOU FIND A SIDE OF THE ROAD SPACE, THE WARNING SIGN DISAPPEARS. BUT OFTENTIMES, IT TAKES 3 OR FOUR TRIES TO MAKE IT DISAPPEAR. SOMETIMES THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR WARNING COMES WITH AN INSTRUCTION TO SHIFT TO P (PARK) . . . . WHICH IS HELPFUL IF YOU CAN FIND A SIDE OF THE ROAD SPOT OTHERWISE THE INSTRUCTION WILL JUST CONFUSE A NOVICE DRIVER AND COULD POTENTIALLY CREATE AN ACCIDENT. I SEARCH THE INTERNET AND FOUND THIS PROBLEM IS VERY COMMON WITH FORD EDGE. I FEEL THAT THIS PROBLEM COULD POTENTIALLY CREATE AN ACCIDENT AND WARRANTS A RECALL. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE DRIVER VEERED OFF THE ROADWAY AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED FATAL INJURIES AND A POLICE A REPORT WAS FILED OF THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE DUE TO A DISLODGED FUEL LINE AND A COMPROMISED FIREWALL. THE FIRE WAS IGNITED BY THE FUEL LEAK THAT CAME FROM UNDER THE CARRIAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS CLOSED, THE DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL DOORS FAILED TO LOCK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LATCH AND THE DOOR AJAR SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE EXTERIOR LIGHT FAILED TO ILLUMINATE INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
DRIVER DOOR AJAR SENSOR DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THAT DOOR IS CLOSED. THIS PREVENTS ALL DOORS FROM BEING IN THE LOCKED POSITION WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE. MANUALLY LOCKING THE DOORS IS OVERRIDDEN BY THE SYSTEM AND AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCKED. ANNOYING ALARM ALWAYS GOING OFF WHILE DRIVING OR IDLE. DOOR AJAR KEEPS COMING ON WHEN GETTING INTO THE VEHICLE. IN THE PAST MONTH ITS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES. I START BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND IT DINGS SO I HAVE PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND REOPEN DRIVER DOOR AND SLAM SHUT TO GET IT TO TURN OFF. ITS GETTING WORSE AND WORSE. *TR
ILLUMINATED DOME LIGHTS AND DOOR AJAR MESSAGES HAVE OCCURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE ISSUE OCCURS BOTH WHILE THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND WHILE IT IS IN MOTION, WHETHER ON A CITY STREET OR A HIGHWAY, WHILE TURNING AND WHILE IN A STRAIGHT LINE, I HAVE WRITTEN TO FORD MOTOR CO. REQUESTING ASSISTANCE UNDER THE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 19N09 AND RECEIVED A LETTER DATED 2/17/20 (SUBJECT CAS-25609702-R5T1D5) FROM FORD DENYING MY REQUEST. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE AND THE DOOR LATCHES NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BY FORD.
INSTRUMENT PANEL SHOWS THE DRIVER DOOR IS OPEN, WHICH IT IS NOT, AND GIVES WARNING TO SHIFT VEHICLE TO PARK. I MUST OPEN AND SHUT THE DOOR 5-12 TIMES TO GET THE WARNING TO DISAPPEAR. WHEN THE WARNING IS ON, THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK AND THE LIGHTS ARE ON. *TR
WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE FIXING TO TURN AND THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN AND LOST ALL POWER TO STEERING AND BRAKES AND THE ENGINE LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT DISPLAYED ON DASH. VEHICLE STARTED BACK UP AFTER A WHILE BUT HAD THE CAR TOWED IN ANYWAY TO DEALER. THE DEALER SAID THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND GAVE US THE CAR BACK. THE COMPUTER SHOULD HAVE STORED THE PROBLEM YOU WOULD THINK. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME WE HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR DIFFERENT PROBLEMS AT 24000 MILES. THIS WILL PROBABLY HAPPEN AGAIN AND SOMEBODY WILL PROBABLY GET HURT AND THEN FORD IS GOING TO HAVE A BIG PROBLEM ON THEIR HANDS. SCARED TO EVEN DRIVE THIS LEMON NOW. *TR
