I STARTED HAVING PROBLEM WITH MY CAR AROUND 60K MILES, AND THE SHOP INFORMED ME I NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. FORD HAS KNOW ABOUT THIS DEFECTED ENGINES AND DID NOT DO A RECALL AND STILL SOLD THESE CARS TO PEOPLE WITHOUT THE KNOWLEDGE OF A DEFECTED ENGINE. THEY ARE LETTING THE WARRANTY RUN OUT, AND THEN LEAVING THE COST TO THE CONSUMERS TO REPLACE. I WOULD HAVE NEVER BOUGHT MY SUV IF I WOULD HAVE KNOWN ABOUT A DEFECTED ENGINE

PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT. THE CONSUMER STATED WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE RECALL PARTS WERE AVAILABLE 5/21. ALSO, THE CONSUMER WENT TO GET BRAKE FLEXIBLE HOSES IN WHICH THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THEY WOULD BE AVAILBLE IN 2 WEEKS.
ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSTIC. COOLANT LEAKING INTO CYLINDER 2. ENGINE HAD TO BE REPLACED. $9,300 QUOTE TO PUT A NEW ENGINE IN, AND VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE SERVICE ADVISOR AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THE MECHANIC BOTH ADMITTED IT IS A KNOWN DEFECT AND SAID THERE IS A TSB BULLETIN ON THE ISSUE. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE FAILURE OF THE FORD PRODUCT.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MCLARTY DANIEL FORD LINCOLN (2609 S WALTON BLVD, BENTONVILLE, AR 72712) WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER WAS DEFECTIVE AND THAT THE ENGINE ALSO NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 83,000.
NOTICED CRACK IN PANORAMIC SUNROOF WHEN PARKED IN HOME GARAGE; NO POINT OF IMPACT DETECTED
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK THE CAR TO OUR LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE SECOND CYLINDER IS MISFIRING DUE TO COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE CYLINDER. THEY HAVE TOLD ME THE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED USING A NEW LONG BLOCK AT 103,002 MILES.
DEFECTIVE ENGINE. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. A TSB BULLETIN WAS ISSUED. COOLANT LEAKED INTO THE ENGINE. MY ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
MY SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON A FEW WEEKS AGO. READING CYLINDER 2 MISFIRING. REPLACE PLUGS AND IGNITION COILS COST ME APPROX $300. STILL SAME ERROR. ENGINE STARTED RUNNING ROUGHER AND WHITE SMOKE STARTED COMING FROM EXHAUST. NOTICED COOLANT LEVEL WAS LOW WHICH WAS OUT OF THE NORM. I CHECKED OIL AND IT WAS A MILKLY COLOR WHICH MEANS COOLANT IS IN OIL. GOING TO TAKE TO A SHOP THIS WEEK TO DETERMINE ISSUE/ISSUES GOING ON. IT IS A 2017 FORD EDGE WITH ONLY 76,000 MILES.

ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. CODE WAS P0302, INITIAL INPUT FROM FORD DEALER, CHANGE SPARK PLUGS, 98XXX MILES, PROBABLY DUE FOR A TUNE-UP. MAINTENANCE PERFORMED, CODE RESET. ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON, AND ENGINE COOLANT OVERTEMPT INDICATION WHILE DRIVING INTO WORK, LOW ON ANTI-FREEZE, TAKEN TO DIFFERENT FORD DEALER THAT SAME AFTERNOON, BORESCOPE OF CYLINDER 2 INDICATES LEAKAGE OF ANTIFREEZE INTO THE CYLINDER TOLD THAT ENGINE LONGBLOCK WILL REQUIRE REPLACEMENT.
THE ENGINE STARTS ROUGH BUT CLEARS AND THE VEHICLE USES SOME RADIATOR FLUID. WE TOOK IT TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT AND THE DEALER TOLD US WE NEED A NEW ENGINE. FORD HAS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN OUT FOR THIS ISSUE BUT BECAUSE WE ARE OVER ON THE MILEAGE THEY WILL NOT COVER ANYTHING. WE NOW HAVE A 3 YEAR OLD VEHICLE THAT IS BASICALLY WORTH NOTHING. I CALLED FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND THEY WILL NOT EVEN ADMIT THAT THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THIS DEFECTIVE ENGINE. THE DEALER TOLD US THAT THE NEW MOTORS HAVE THE DEFECT CORRECTED. I FEEL FORD SHOULD STAND BEHIND A DEFECTIVE ENGINE BUT THEY WON'T UNTIL THE GOVERNMENT TELLS THEM TO.
WENT TO WASH MY 2017 FORD EDGE CAR TWO WEEKS AGO IN MY DRIVEWAY AND NOTICE THE PANORAMIC ROOF GLASS HAD WAVY CRACKS IN IT. NO CHIPS OR LEAKS JUST A WAVY CRACK THAT CAN BE FELT FROM THE EXTERIOR. RESERCHED THIS ISSUE AND FOUND IT TO BE COMMON IN EDGES FROM 2014 AND UP TO THE POINT THAT THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST FORD FOR NOT DOING ANYTHING THAT WAS DROPPED IN 2016. I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S A STRESS FRACTURE OR DUE TO THE HEAT. ETHIER WAY I AM CONCERNED THE GLASS IS GOING TO FAIL EVEN MORE. THERE ARE ACCOUNTS WHERE THESE ROOFS HAVE EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING ALSO.

I FILLED THE COOLANT AND NEXT DAY IT WAS EMPTY AGAIN. ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSTIC. COOLANT LEAKING INTO CYLINDER 2. ENGINE HAS TO BE REPLACED. HAPPENED BEFORE 60,000 MILES BUT BECAUSE I TOOK IT AFTER 60,000 MILES WARRANTY WAS OUT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE AND PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE BRAKING SYSTEM WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY ACTIVATE TO SLOW OR STOP THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER HAD TO PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES TO ACTIVATE THE BRAKING SYSTEM. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT YET NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V469000 (SERVICE BRAKES, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AT STARTUP, ENGINE ROUGH IDLE. TOOK TO NAZARETH FORD, NAZARETH, PA, CAR DIAGNOSED WITH COOLANT LEAK INTO CYLINDER, A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS ENGINE AS DESCRIBED BY MECHANIC. ENGINE REPLACEMENT IS THE ONLY FIX. QUOTED BETWEEN $6,000 AND $7000 REPAIR. VEHICLE CURRENTLY AT SERVICE STATION AWAITING PARTS. CURRENT MILAGE: 61000+
THIS ENGINE IS FAULTY. I PURCHASED IT AND THE CYLINDER CRACKED. THIS WAS DIAGNOSED BY THE FORD DEALER. THE ENGINE DROVE PERFECTLY FINE. THEN I BEGAN HAVING SOME HARD SHAKING AND JERKING. THE VEHICLE THEN OVERHEATED CAUSING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON. TL* THE CONTACT CALLED ON BEHALF OF HIS DAUGHTER WHO OWNS A 2017 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HIS DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING 30 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MEDGAARDEN SOUTHWEST SALES LOCATED AT 1608 12TH ST SW, AUSTIN, MN 55912, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE CYLINDER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER ON BEHALF OF THE VEHICLE OWNER HOWEVER, THE MANUFACTURER DECLINED TO PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 61,900.
ON 7/16/2020 MY 2017 FORD EDGE EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF BRAKES WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS WAS APPROACHING A BUSY INTERSECTION WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE HAD TO BE USED TO AVOID A COLLISION. THE VEHICLES LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CAME ONE AND A LARGE POOL OF FLUID WAS COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOW BACK TO MY HOUSE AND UPON INVESTIGATION THE FRONT PASSENGER BRAKE LINE HAD BURST. THERE WAS NO SIGN OF PRIOR DAMAGE OR UNUSUAL WEAR. THE VEHICLE HAS 63,000 MILES.
AT ABOUT 48,000 MILES THE 2.0L ECOBOOST ENGINE HAD A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. BROUGHT IT TO FORD DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS A COOLANT LEAK AND IT NEEDED NEW ENGINE. VEHICLE STILL UNDER WARRANTY SO ENGINE WILL BE REPLACED WITHOUT COST. BUT I KNOW OTHERS HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM. THEY NEED TO ISSUE A RECALL OR WARRANTY.
MY 2017 FORD EDGE 2.0L ECOBOOST, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITH CODE OF P0302, AFTER CHANGING THE SPARK PLUGS AND COIL PACKS, FINALLY TOOK IT TO OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP, BANNER FORD IN MANDEVILLE, LA AND AFTER A DIAGNOSTIC WAS FOUND TO HAVE "COOLANT INTRUSION ON CYLINDER #2, AND WAS TOLD THAT FORD WOULD NOT SELL THE PARTS TO REPAIR THE ENGINE, BUT THAT THE ENTIRE ENGINE HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE FORD HAD CHANGED THE DESIGN ON THE ENGINE AND GASKETS. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL, NOT A TSB, AS I HAVE FOUND MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS AND THEY ALL HAVE CONTACTED FORD WITH THE SAME RESULTS, SO FORD IS WELL AWARE OF THIS ISSUE, COMPLAINTS GO BACK AS FAR AS 2015 AND ALL ARE AROUND THE 65K TO 70K MILE MARK. FORD KNOWS ABOUT THIS BY REDESIGNING THE ENGINES AND THE GASKETS. I AM LOOKING AT AN $8500 ENGINE REPLACEMENT BILL BECAUSE I AM OUT-OF-WARRANTY.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK TO FOX FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT IT FOR SERVICING. DIAGNOSED: COOLANT LEAKING INTO CYLINDERS TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 19-2346 2.0L ECOBOOST ENGINE MUST BE REPLACED I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR 11 MONTHS. FORD COMPANY NOT WILLING TO ASSIST - DENIED REQUEST I SENT PROOF THAT THE VEHICLE WAS MAINTAINED WELL FOR THE 11 MONTHS I HAVE OWNED IT.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT COOLANT LEAKED INTO THE ENGINE CAUSING THE ENGINE TO MISFIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS NEXT TAKEN TO TOWN AND COUNTRY FORD (7800 E LLOYD EXPY, EVANSVILLE, IN 47715) WHERE THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. ADDITIONALLY, THE REPAIR WOULD BE AN OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,000.
HAVE OWNED THE CAR FOR 10 MONTHS. CAR HAS 64, 000 MILES. I BOUGHT IT WITH 52,500 MILES IN AUGUST 2019 FROM FOX FORD IN GRAND RAPIDS, MI. ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON TOOK TO MECHANIC MECHANIC DIAGNOSED AN ENGINE ISSUE WITH A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN (TSB) 19-2346: 2.0L ECOBOOST COOLANT IN CYLINDERS TOOK TO FORD DEALERSHIP .. SAME DIAGNOSIS AND SAID I NEED A NEW ENGINE. FOX FORD QUOTING ME 6000.00 MINIMUM FOR PARTS. POSSIBLY 8000.00 WITH LABOR.
2ND CYLINDER LEAKING COOLANT. ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
The panoramic roof has a stress crack. We went on vacation in our other vehicle. The Ford Edge was in my garage that June when we went. We came home, I washed the Ford Edge two days later and noticed the stress crack in the panoramic roof.
A YEAR AGO MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR FELT LIKE IT WAS MISFIRING WHEN I PUSHED THE GAS SO I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE. THEY FIXED THE HEAD GASKET AND REPLACED THE CYLINDERS AND IT RAN OKAY FOR A WHILE. FAST FORWARD TO LAST WEEK AND I WAS DRIVING DOWN A MAJOR HIGHWAY WITH MY FIVE YEAR OLD AND MY DOG IN THE CAR ON OUR WAY TO VACATION AND AN ERROR LIGHT CAME ON SAYING IT WAS A COOLANT EMERGENCY; AT THE SAME TIME THE CHECK ENGINE CAME ON IMMEDIATELY. SUDDENLY THE CAR BASICALLY WENT DEAD WHILE IN MOTION GOING 75 MILES PER HOUR. I HAD TO STEER IT OFF OF THE HIGHWAY AND TURN IT OFF; LEAVING US STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY FOR 4 HOURS. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT THERE IS COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE AND THAT THE ENTIRE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE APPARENTLY AFTER I HAD MY CAR WORKED ON THE FIRST TIME THERE WAS A TSB 19-2346 SAYING IF THIS PROBLEM OCCURS THEN THE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE CAR IS 3 YEARS OLD AND HAS HAD MAJOR ENGINE FAILURE TWICE IN ONE YEAR- LEAVING MY FAMILY AND I IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. THE MECHANIC AT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON THE ECOBOOST 2.0 ENGINE. A COMMON PROBLEM?!?! NOW I HAVE TO PAY $7000 FOR A NEW ENGINE, $600 FOR A TOW ACROSS THREE STATES $100 IN UBER FOR PICKING US UP AND HOTEL FEES LEAVING US STRANDED.
BATTERY GOES DEAD FOR NO APPARENT REASON. SOMETIMES A MESSAGE WILL APPEAR THAT THE CAR IS IN POWER SAVING MODE (ELECTRICALLY) TO SAVE THE BATTERY, BUT NOT ALWAYS. AFTER CHARGING THE BATTERY, THE VEHICLE MAY RUN FINE FOR 2-3 WEEKS THEN GO DEAD. I HAVE NOTICED THE TURN SIGNALS DO NOT ALWAYS HAVE AN AUDIBLE SOUND WHEN WORKING, AND I HAVE NOTICED A CLICKING NOISE FROM THE FUSE / CIRCUIT BOX WITHOUT ANY THING BEING DONE TO THE VEHICLE, AND WHEN IT WILL NOT START. THE CURRENT EPISODE IS THE SECOND IN 3 WEEKS, THE THIRD IN 6MOS. THE FIRST EPISODE, THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED. I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS A BATTERY ISSUE. OTHER THAN THIS, THE CAR PERFORMS FINE. *TR

DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) MAY INCLUDE P0300, P0301-P0304, P0316, P0217, P1285 AND/OR P1299 STORED IN POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM). THIS MAY BE DUE TO COOLANT INTRUSION INTO THE CYLINDER. TO CORRECT THE CONDITION, FOLLOW THE SERVICE PROCEDURE STEPS TO REPLACE THE LONG BLOCK ENGINE ASSEMBLY.
I BOUGHT MY 2017 FORD EDGE LESS THAN A YEAR AND HALF AGO AND THE FIRST YEAR WAS RUNNING FINE BUT THEN IT GAVE SOME BATTERY ISSUES FOR NO REASON THEN I HAD TO REPLACED IT. THAT WAS MY FIRST ISSUE WITH IT, A YEAR LATER IM DEALING WITH SOME OVERHEATING PROBLEMS WHICH I TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AND THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THERE IS COOLANT IN THE ENGINE WITH NO LEAKING OR WHATSOEVER, APPARENTLY THE COOLANT WAS EVAPORATING INTO THE ENGINE. NOW, FORD WONT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE IM PASSED 7K MILES FROM MY WARRANTY EXPIRATION. I HOPE I'LL GET SOME HELP BECAUSE I DONT EVEN HAVE 2 YEARS WITH THIS VEHICLE AND NOW IS ALL DAMAGE FOR NO REASON. TTHE OVERHEATING ISSUES STARTED A MONTH AGO SO I DIDNT WAIT LONG TO TAKE IT TO THE MECHANIC TO CHECK IT OUT. AT THIS POINT MY SUV STILL RUNS BUT I PREFER TO NOT DRIVE IT ANYMORE BECAUSE IT COULD CAUSE MORE DAMAGE TO IT, SO I DONT HAVE A CAR TO GET TO WORK. I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT TYPE OF ENGINE IS IT OR IF THIS HAS JUST HAPPENED TO ME AND I FOUND OUT THAT THERE IS A RECALLOF THIS MAKE AND MODEL. I REALLY HOPE I GET SOME HELP SINCE REPLACING THE WHOLE ENGINE IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND I CANT AFFORD IT. THEN AGAIN I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ON OCTOBER, 2018 AND LESS THAN 2 YEARS THE ENGINE IS DAMAGED COME ON PEOPLE HOW COULD IT BE POSSIBLE IF IS NOT A FABRIC DEFECT OR SOMETHING BECAUSE THERE IS STILL LOW MILLAGE IN MY SUV IS ONLY 67K AND I DONT DRIVE IT VERY FAR. BY THE WAY WHEN IT HAPPENED I WAS COMING BACK HOME FROM WORK SO YEAH IT WAS IN MOTION BUT IT OVER HEATED WHEN I WAS LESS THAN 3 MINUTES AWAY FROM HOME BUT I STOPPED ANYWAYS TO COOLED IT DOWN, ONCE I WAS HOME I PUT COOLANT AND THE NEXT DAY I TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC.
IN JUNE 2020 THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WE CALLED OUR LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO LOOK AT IT FOR A FEW DAYS, BUT WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE FINE TO DRIVE. WE NEEDED THE CAR TO GET TO WORK AND BACK SO WE TOOK IT IN TO HAVE IT CHECKED WITH ANOTHER REPUTABLE SERVICE PROVIDER. HE INFORMED US THAT WE DEFIANTLY NEEDED TO TAKE IT TO OUR LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AS THE CODE IT WAS THROWING WAS A MAJOR ENGINE PROBLEM.THE CODES WERE P0301-P0304, WHICH IS A DEFECT IN THE ENGINE WHICH WILL ALLOW COOLANT INTRUSION INTO THE CYLINDERS. HE TOLD US THAT THERE WAS TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN, COPY INCLUDED WITH THIS LETTER, ON THIS VEHICLE AND THAT THE ENGINE MOST LIKELY WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. WE IMMEDIATELY CALLED NEWBERG FORD AND MADE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT. WE TOOK IT IN AND AFTER A DAY IN A HALF WERE TOLD THAT IT WAS INDEED AN ENGINE DEFECT AND THE ENGINE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. WE WERE ALSO TOLD THAT WE SHOULD NOT DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AS IT COULD FAIL WHILE DRIVING. THANK GOD WE DID NOT FOLLOW THEIR FIRST ADVICE THAT IT WOULD BE FINE TO DRIVE! AT FIRST, THEY TOLD US IT WAS GOING TO COST US OVER $8000 TO REPAIR. WE WERE DEVASTATED. WHILE WE STILL OWED SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS ON THE CAR, WE REALLY DID NOT HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY! THERE IS COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE ON A CONSISTENT BASIS. I HAVE TO REPLACE THE COOLANT DAILY, AND IF NOT, THE CAR OVERHEATS MAKING IT A HAZARD ON THE ROADS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT COOLANT LEAKED INTO CYLINDER NUMBER 2 AND THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. COOLANT HAS LEAKED INTO THE ENGINE AND DESTROYED IT. THE BRAKE FLUID IS COMPLETELY GONE FROM THE BRAKES. BOTH OF THESE HAVE CAUSED A SAFETY HAZARD THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED DEATH IN MULTIPLE PEOPL.
ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. DIAGNOSIS CODE P0304 CAME ON. DROVE FOR ANOTHER WEEK AND TOOK TO FORD DEALERSHIP. TOLD THERE WAS COOLANT LEAKING INTO CYLINDERS AND I HAD TO HAVE A NEW ENGINE. ENGINE IS FORD 2.0 L ECOBOOST. HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS ENTRIES ON FORUMS OF CONSUMERS THAT HAVE THE SAME DEFECTIVE ENGINE. MILEAGE IS 25 MILES BEYOND THE 60,000 POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. COST IS WELL OVER $5000 ON AN ENGINE THAT FORD KNOWS TO BE DEFECTIVE AND THEY ARE NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR RECALLING THIS DEFECTIVE ENGINE.
I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT MY 2017 SILVER FORD EDGE, BECAUSE ON 5/8/2020 THE ENGINE ICON CAME UP ON MY DASH. SO I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED AT THE LOCAL JARETT FORD DEALERSHIP IN LAKELAND, FL, THINKING IT JUST NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE. AFTER I GOT THIS DONE, THE ENGINE ICON NEVER WENT AND I BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE MY VEHICLE SHAKING AND IT ALSO BEGAN HEATING UP. THIS HAPPENED IN 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, WITH A RED WARNING MESSAGE ON MY DASH OF THE PRECAUTION I SHOULD TAKE TO AVOID OVERHEATING. EACH TIME I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED THE VEHICLE, WAITED FOR IT TO COOL DOWN, AND ADDED COOLANT TO THE RADIATOR COOLANT TANK. I WENT TO ELDER FORD OF TAMPA, FL, WHERE I BOUGHT MY VEHICLE AND THE SERVICE MANAGER, TERRY WAS COMPLETELY OBLIVIOUS AS TO WHO NHTSA IS AS WELL AS NO IDEA OF THE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM. AS I WENT TO DRIVE AWAY MY VEHICLE, NOW IT DID NOT WANT TO START. FRANK TRIED TO SEE IF IT WAS A BATTERY ISSUE AND TRIED JUMP STARTING IT BUT IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BATTERY. BY GOD'S MIRACLE MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY TURNED ON AND BY HIS MERCIES I WAS ABLE TO ARRIVE AT MY HOUSE. NOW, I CANNOT GET TO WORK AND ARE STUCK BECAUSE THEY SAY THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO BECAUSE MY WARRANTY IS OVER. I NEED TO KNOW IF YOU CAN HELP ME RESOLVE THIS MATTER THAT IS NOT MY FAULT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT LATER IN THE DAY AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE OF A CRACK TO THE SUNROOF GLASS WITH TWO ADDITIONAL SMALLER CRACKS. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF ANY IMPACTS TO THE SUNROOF. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BICKFORD FORD (3100 BICKFORD AVE, SNOHOMISH, WA 98290, (425) 334-4045), WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF POSSIBLE CRACKS FROM ROCKS OR ROAD DEBRIS. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO THE INSURANCE PROVIDER FOR ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,600.
I PURCHASED A 2017 FORD EDGE, IN 2017, WHICH RAN FINE AT FIRST. A YEAR IN, THE CAR WOULD RUN ROUGH, AND TWICE BOGGED DOWN AND TURNED OFF. STARTED AGAIN, REPLACED BATTERY WITH UNDER 2YRS OF USE AND KEPT WORKING. FAST FORWARD TWO YEARS, A FEW WEEKS AGO, WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK, I BEGAN TO SEE PERFORMANCE ISSUES AND SUDDENLY WHITE SMOKE COMING OUT THE EXHAUST. NO LEAKING WAS EVIDENT, AND I NEVER GOT A WARNING ON MY DASH ABOUT TEMP OR COOLANT OR ANYTHING OF THE LIKE. TOOK IT TO FORD, WHERE I BOUGHT IT, AND AFTER EXPLAINING THE NHTSA CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM, TWO OF THE ASSOCIATES REACTED COMPLETELY OBLIVIOUS TO WHAT EVEN NHTSA STOOD FOR OR THE ISSUE, WHICH BTW SEEMS TO BE REPORTED OVER 10 TIMES ON THE NHTSA SITE. NEVERTHELESS, THEY SUGGESTED A NEW BATTERY, SPARK PLUGS/WIRES, AND THEN OFFERED TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE VEHICLE FOR A FEW DAYS CHARGING $125 FOR THE "DIAGNOSTIC", TO WHICH I REFUSED. THEY THEN GAVE IT A ONCE-OVER, AND FOUND COOLANT IN THE ENGINE, [MILKY OIL] WHICH INDICATES WATER SEEPING INTO THE ENGINE AND WOULD MOST LIKELY REQUIRE A CYLINDER HEAD AT THE VERY LEAST. THEY OFFERED TO GIVE ME A RENTAL, FOR WHICH THEY STATED "I WOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY" OUTSIDE OF THE $50 LIABILITY FEE, WHICH IS REFUNDABLE UPON FORD'S HQ/CREDIT TEAM GOT BACK TO THEM. IF THEY SAW THAT THIS WAS NOT A "RECALL" TYPE ITEM, I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE RENTAL AS WELL AS THE COST OF REPAIRS, WHICH BALL-PARKED AROUND $4500-$5000. CLEARLY, THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, FOR A 3YR OLD CAR WITH UNDER 66K MILES TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM. FILING A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA IN THE HOPES OF FINDING SOME SEMBLANCE OF JUSTICE. *TR
ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND CAR STARTED RUNNING ROUGH, JERKING WHEN STARTING UP, OR WHILE WAITING AT A LIGHT. TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE CYLINDERS AND THERE WAS A FORD TSB OUT FOR IT. WAS LUCKY ENOUGH THAT MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON GOT MY CAR CHECKED BEFORE IT CAUSED ANY ACCIDENT. READING ABOUT OTHERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE, SOME OF THEM WERE NOT SO LUCKY. I WAS DRIVING GOING 35 MPH ACCELERATING TO 40 MPH AS I WAS ON THE INSIDE LANE OF THREE LANES ENTERING THE STATE HIGHWAY TO GO OVER THE BRIDGE WHEN MY INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON SHOWING OVER HEATING AND I LOST POWER. I IMMEDIATELY HAD TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND WAITED 1 1/2 HOURS FOR ENGINE TO COOL DOWN TO CHECK MY ENGINE. WHEN I CHECKED I HAD NO COOLANT IN MY RADIATOR . I SPOKE TO A FORD SERVICE EMPLOYEE AND THEY SAID GET IT TO THEM TO CHECK OUT. THEY INSPECTED AND TELL ME THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN 19-2346 STATING THE DEFECT. A KNOWN DEFECT CAUSING DANGEROUS SITUATIONS FOR UNAWARE CAR OWNERS. FORD HAS TOLD ME THEY WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR KNOWN DEFECTIVE ISSUE AND WANT $ 7,000.00 TO REPLACE WHOLE ENGINE. CURRENTLY IT IS AT FORD BEING REPAIRED AT MY EXPENSE BUT HOPEFULLY OUR GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS OR A LAWYER CAN HELP REDEEM THIS SITUATION.
The rear back up camera is extremely fuzzy for the display or image and has resulted in near miss with fixed object incidents
FORD EDGE ECOBOOST 2.0L COOLANT LIGHT CAME ON AROUND 60K MILES, WHILE DRIVING. SERVICE SHOP FOUND CODE P0217(ENGINE COOLANT EXCESS TEMPERATURE). LATER TOOK IT TO FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY ADVISED COOLANT IS LEAKING FROM ENGINE AND A NEW ENGINE WOULD BE REQUIRED.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AFTER 63,000 MILES OF MY 2017 FORD EDGE. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD COOLANT IS LEAKING INTO THE CYLINDER HEAD PER ERROR CODE. DEALERSHIP STATED A NEW ENGINE IS REQUIRED TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. AFTER SOME RESEARCH IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. IT IS TIME FOR FORD TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS VEHICLE OR ENGINE HAS A QUALITY ISSUE AND DO THE RIGHT THING FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS.
ENGINE: 2.0 ECOBOOST MILEAGE: 61800 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, ERROR P0302 SHOWED UP. OEM SPARK PLUGS ARE PLACED IN, ALONG WITH A SET OF NEW COIL PACKS. CEL WAS STILL ON, RAN A COMPRESSION TEST AND SAW COOLANT BEING SQUIRTED OUT OF CYL 2, SIGNIFYING EITHER A CRACKED HEAD, OR BLOWN HEAD GASKET. CONTACTED FORD, WHO REFERRED ME TO THE LOCAL DEALER, WENT INTO DEALER AND WAS QUOTED $200 FOR JUST THE "DIAGNOSTIC." MADE ME AWARE THAT FORD MAY REQUIRE A TEAR DOWN BEFORE EVEN EXTENDING ASSISTANCE IN THE REPAIR. SINCE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY PERIOD I WAS QUOTED $4400 FOR TEAR DOWN. VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED.
THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE. THE NOTICE TO GO TO A DEALER FOR CORRECTION HAS BEEN HELD UP BECAUSE OF PARTS AVAILABILITY. BUT EVERYTHING SUPPOSEDLY WAS TO BE READY BY THE LAST QUARTER OF 2020. THE LAST QUARTER OF 2020 ENDED 35 DAYS AGO. STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN A NOTICE AS TO WHEN THE CAR CAN BE BROUGHT IN.
