front driver side Brake hose went out. got it fixed at the ford dealership. a couple months later my front passenger side brake hose went out. got it fixed at the ford dealership, but this time the dealership told me my master cylinder was bad and I needed to get that fixed too. ford finally acknowledged the problem, but it took them a year to actually fix it. a year after they acknowledged the recall and actually fixed it a couple months later my rear brake hose went out. however ford dealership refused to fix the rear brake hose, the dealership said the rear brake hoses were not included in the recall (only the front brake hoses).
COMMON ISSUE WITH PURGE VALVE TO BE LEAKING AND IS NOT IN THE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY ACCORDING TO THEM DOES NOT ALLOW VEHICLE TO GET CORRECT MPG. VEHICLE WILL STUDDER AT IDLE OR AFTER FUEL FILL UP. WILL STUDDER AT STOPS AS IT IS LACKING CORRECT FUEL PRESSURE, BUT WONT THROW CODE. DEALER IS AWARE OF ISSUE WITH IT BEING COMMON TO THE VEHICLE BUT IS TRYING TO CHARGE HUNDREDS TO THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FOR REPAIR.
ON 02/20/2020 WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON A CITY STREET AND APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND WAS DIFFICULT TO STOP. SHORTLY AFTER A INDICATOR LIGHT SHOWED THAT MY BRAKE FLUID LEVEL WAS LOW. THE VEHICLE WAS LIMPED HOME AND PARKED IN DRIVEWAY. THE NEXT MORNING THERE WAS A LARGE PUDDLE OF BRAKE FLUID UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. THERE WAS OBVIOUS BRAKE FLUID COVERING THE INSIDE FRONT PASSENGER FENDER WELL. UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE THERE WAS BRAKE FLUID THAT HAD SPRAYED THE FRONT TIRE AND UNDERNEATH VEHICLE. THERE WAS BRAKE FLUID DRIPPING FROM THE BRAKE LINE WITH NO OBVIOUS DAMAGE NOTED ANYWHERE ELSE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO A FORD SERVICE CENTER. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE RUBBER BRAKE LINE GOING TO THE CALIPER HAD RUPTURED.

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED TRAVELING TO THE FLOOR BOARD FAILING TO STOP THE VEHICLE, AS A RESULT REAR ENDING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT CAUSING IT TO COLLIDE WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. NO WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. NO VEHICLE OCCUPANTS SUSTAINED INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO DEALER OR LOCAL MECHANIC FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RAVENEL FORD (6340 SAVANNAH HWY, RAVENEL, SC 294700) APPROXIMATELY A MONTH AGO FOR BRAKE ISSUES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR WAS REPLACED DUE TO THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000.
2017 FORD EDGE TITANIUM 57000 MILES POWER STEERING HAS STOPPED AND FORD WILL NOT HELP. THE CAR STILL RUNS AND I AM DRIVING WITHOUT POWER STEERING. LOCAL FORD SAYS $ 3000.00 TO FIX. WARNING LIGHTS OF: "HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE"... (NEVER HAD IT ANYWAY). "STEERING ASSIST FAULT - SERVICE REQUIRED" "SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC" - DASHBOARD ICON "STABILITY CONTROL OFF" - DASHBOARD ICON... THESE WARNINGS ARE ON EVERYTIME I DRIVE THE CAR.. THIS STARTED AND FIRST HAPPENED IN MID FEB. 2020. IT HAPPENED WHEN I WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE. AFTER A FEW FEET IT SORT OF STALLED. I RESTARTED AND NOTICED IMMEDIATELY THE LIGHTS AND LACK OF POWER STEERING. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED. $3000.00 IS A LOT OF MONEY AND I AM SURPRISED AT THE COST, LACK OF HELP FROM FORD AND THE FACT THAT IT IS STILL RUNNING. OTHER WISE IT IS A GREAT CAR ! I HAVE GONE TO YOUTUBE AND DISCOVERED SOME ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS FROM OTHERS BUT NOTHING SPECIFIC. ANY HELP IS GREAT. THANKS.
HAPPENS EVERY TIME I BRAKE. HITTING THE BRAKE TO STOP ENGINE SHAKES VIOLENTLY AS I COME TO A STOP. IN ADDITION TO VIOLENT ENGINE SHAKING THE CAR IS THRUSTING FORWARD. I HAVE TO PUT MY FOOT HARDER ON THE BRAKE NOT TO HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. I WILL HAVE TO THROW IT IN NEUTRAL TO STOP THE SHAKING. IN NEUTRAL THE ENGINE REVS. WHEN TRAFFIC BEGINS TO MOVE I HAVE TO PUT IT BACK IN DRIVE AND HIT THE GAS BUT THEN IT LAGS SEVERELY. IT WON'T GO ANYWHERE FOR MULTIPLE SECONDS BEFORE IT FINALLY TAKES OFF. THAT LITERALLY HAPPENS EVERYTIME I STOP AND GO. IF YOU ARE IN PARK AND HAVE YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE TOO LONG BEFORE PUTTING IN A GEAR IT STALLS OUT. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND OPENED A CASE WITH FORD CORPORATION WHO BOTH DEEMED THE VEHICLE UNSAFE, BUT NEITHER WANT TO TAKE CARE OF THE ISSUE. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTHS. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP TWICE AND FORD HAS DENIED TO ASSIST WITH GETTING IT FIXED TWICE. THERE ARE SO MANY UNSAFE 2017 FORD EDGE TRANSMISSIONS. I WISH THEY WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS. IT'S VERY SCARY TO DRIVE. MY DOCUMENTS ARE IN THE FORD COMPUTER SYSTEM. THEY SAY THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION LOCKS UP AND RHE WHOLE TRANSMISSION NEEDS REPLACED. SHEEHY FORD OF MIDLTOHIAN, VA HAS INFORMED ME THAT TORQUE CONVERTER WELDS ARE FAILING, CONSISTENT WITH THE RECALL ON OTHER 2017 FORD EDGE MODELS: HOMERECALLSSAFETY RECALL 17S16 ' TORQUE CONVERTER STUD WELDS ' 2017 LINCOLN MKZ, FORD EDGE & FUSION RECALLSSAFETY RECALL 17S16 ' TORQUE CONVERTE TORQUE CONVERTER CONNECTION MAY FAIL IF THE TORQUE CONVERTER WELD STUDS FAIL, THE TORQUE CONVERTER WILL NOT BE CONNECTED TO THE ENGINE FLEXPLATE AND THE VEHICLE WILL LOSE THE ABILITY TO MOVE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. SUMMARY FORD MOTOR COMPANY (FORD) IS RECALLING CERTAIN 2017-2018 FORD EDGE AND 2017 LINCOLN MKZ VEHICLES. I HAVE HAD MY CAR IN THE SHOP FOR 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS WITH THE CAR HAVING NO POWER THAT SOMETHING IS DRAINING THE BATTERY. ALSO THE BACK BRAKE LIGHT HAS MOISTURE AND IS GETTING WORSE. THE 3 TIMES THAT MY CAR LOST ALL POWER WAS WHILE IT WAS PARKED, IT WAS COLD OUTSIDE AND RAINY.
MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED. I USED THE AUTO START. LET IT RUN FOR 2 MINUTES OR SO. I WENT TO THE VEHICLE, PUT MY PERSONAL PROPERTY IN THE FRONT SEAT. CLOSED THE DOOR. WENT TO THE BACKSEAT TO GRAB AN ICE SCRAPER, TO CLEAN OFF THE CAR. CLOSED THE DOOR, AND THE BACK WINDOW CAVED IN. I AM NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE. I COULD HAVE HAD MY DOGS IN THE BACK OF THE CAR. WHAT HAPPENS IF THE FULL PIECE OF GLASS THAT IS MY ROOF CAVES IN? MY CHILD HAS NOW ASKED IF THE WINDSHIELD COULD CAVE IN?
SPONTANEOUS CRACKS APPEARED IN THE MOVABLE AND FIXED PANES OF GLASS IN THE PANORAMA SUNROOF. NO ROCK OR GRAVEL IMPACT. THERE ARE NUMEROUS EXAMPLES OF THIS ISSUE DOCUMENTED IN PHOTOS ON THE INTERNET. THE CRACKS I HAVE OBSERVED LOOK IDENTICAL TO THOSE POSTED BY OTHER FORD EDGE OWNERS.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the spark plug in cylinder #3 was fractured. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic, who diagnosed a general engine failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the flywheel. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to Customer Satisfaction Program: 21N12. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 90,000.
THE STATIONARY SUNROOF PANEL CRACKED BUT THERE IS NO IMPACT DAMAGE. APPEARS JUST TO HAVE CRACKED. BECAUSE THERE WAS NO IMPACT, I'M UNSURE OF SPECIFICALLY WHEN THIS HAPPENED, JUST NOTICED IT WHEN I OPENED I OPENED THE SUNROOF LAST TIME.
WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK WHEN I REALIZED MY BRAKE HAD DECOMPRESSED AND WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOORBOARD. GOT HOME AND MY HUSBAND NOTICED I HAD BRAKE FLUID ALL OVER UNDERNEATH MY VEHICLE. MY LEFT PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE LINE BURST WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING THE BRAKE PEDAL TO DEPRESS ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR AND MAKING THE VEHICLE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STOP (BY THE TIME I MADE IT HOME IT WAS HARDLY STOPPING AT ALL). FORD WOULD NOT USE MY WARRANTY TO REPLACE THEY SAID I HIT SOMETHING. ON (12/20/2019) DRIVING HOME FROM WORK THIS TIME THE FRONT PASSENGER BRAKE LINE SEEMS TO HAVE BURST. (AGAIN WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE THIS TIME AT A STOP LIGHT ON A CITY STREET) AND AGAIN CAUSING THE PEDAL TO GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND MAKING THE CAR EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STOP. THIS IS A HAZARDOUS SITUATION AND VERY CONCERNING THAT IT HAS OCCURRED TO WITH MY BRAKE LINES TWICE WITHIN THE PAST YEAR, AND ALL WHILE THE CAR WAS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD AND HAD ONLY 45,000 MILES. THIS IS A PROBLEM I BELIEVE FORD NEEDS TO ADDRESS, FROM WHAT I HAVE GATHERED ONLINE THIS IS AN ISSUE QUITE A FEW OTHERS HAVE FACED.
THE DEALERSHIP NEVER NOTIFIED ME OF ANY RECALL - THEY ARE ALWAYS NEGLIGENT AND THIS WIIL BE THE LAST FORD I EVER PURCHASE/LEASE...
AFTER 37000 MILES MESSAGE STATED BATTERY WAS LOW. THEN LOST POWER STEERING. I STOPPED CAR AND IT HAD TO BE PUSHED OFF TO SIDE. ANOTHER CAR JUMPED ME AND CAR STARTED. STARTED DRIVING AND LOST POWER STEERING. CAR WAS JUMP STARTED AGAIN. DROVE SHORT DISTANCE. HAPPENED AGAIN UNTIL I GOT HOME. HELP.
WHILE DRIVING AN ALERT CAME ON THAT STATED THE STEERING ASSIST NEEDED SERVICE. I CONTINUED DRIVING AS I WAS IN A REMOTE AREA WITH NO FORD DEALERSHIP CLOSE BY. THE STEERING SEEMED A BIT "LOOSE" BUT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERABLE. I PARKED THE VEHICLE ONCE I ARRIVED AT MY DESTINATION WITH PLANS TO BRING IT TO MY DEALERSHIP WHEN I RETURNED FROM MY TRIP. I STARTED THE VEHICLE A FEW DAYS LATER AND THE DISPLAY SHOWED "STEERING LOSS STOP SAFELY", "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC" AND "HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE" THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE STEERED AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP.
THE REAR GLASS PANEL IN THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF HAS SPIDER CRACKS THROUGHOUT. THE CAR IS NORMALLY PARKED IN A COVERED AREA. I HAD THE SUNROOF OPEN TWO WEEKS AGO AND THERE WERE NO CRACKS AT THAT TIME. THE CRACKS HAPPENED WITHIN THE LAST TWO WEEKS. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY WHEN THE PROBLEM WAS IDENTIFIED. THIS WAS NOT CAUSED BY ANY IMPACT. I BELIEVE IT IS AN INHERENT MANUFACTURER DEFECT. I CONTACTED THE DEALER WHO SAID THE REPAIR WILL CAUSE AT LEAST $1300 AND THAT IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE CAR IS A 2017 FORD EDGE WITH 40K MILES AND HAS A 100K MILE FORD PREMIUM CARE WARRANTY.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the check engine warning light illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated while starting the vehicle, the engine revved significantly. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the canister purge valve had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the canister purge valve was replaced several times; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 113,996.
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WHEN WE ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR THE INJECTORS AS IT STATED WITH THE ERROR CODE, IT DIDN'T WORK, THEN I STARTED LOSING COOLANT AND WE TOOK THE CAR INTO FORD. FORD NOW TELLS ME THE MOTOR IS BAD AND I NEED TO HAVE IT REPLACED AND IT WILL COST $7600!
GLASS PANORAMIC MOON ROOF HAS SPIDER CRACKS THROUGHOUT. THIS WAS NOT CAUSED BY ANY IMPACT. THIS IS AN INHERENT MANUFACTURER DEFECT.
THIS VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE CROSSED ITS PATH GOING THE WRONG WAY ON A ONE WAY STREET. THIS FORD EDGE STRUCK THE FORD F150 BROADSIDE AT APPROXIMATELY 30+ MPH AT ABOUT A 20 DEGREE ANGLE DRIVERS SIDE HOOD AND FENDER AND WINDSHIELD BROKEN. THE STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY, AND THE KNEE BOLSTER DID NOT DEPLOY FULLY. THIS CAUSED SERIOUS INJURIES TO THE DRIVER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE AND COOLANT OVER TEMPERATURE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LEN STOLER FORD (410-356-7000, LOCATED AT 11275 REISTERSTOWN RD, OWINGS MILLS, MD 21117) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TECHNICIAN ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A KNOWN ISSUE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD BE KEPT AT THE SHOP FOR TWO TO THREE WEEKS DUE TO A BACK UP OF WORK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS NOT PROVIDED A LOANER VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
CRACKED SUN ROOF. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.
SPIDER CRACKS IN STATIONARY PART OF PANORAMIC SUN ROOF. TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP WHO TOOK PHOTOS AND SENT THEM TO FORD. FORD REPLIED SAYING IT WAS STONES THAT CRACKED IT. MY PROBLEM, THEY WILL NOT EXCEPT THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THEIR DESIGN, PUTTING A STRESS ON THE GLASS.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. A WRENCH ALSO CAME ON. HAD IT PUT ON A DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE WITH A READ OUT OF "TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLENOID CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE OR STUCK OFF." MY CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 67,000 MILES ON IT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MOUNTAIN FORD INC (100 SLOPE ST, BRYSON CITY, NC 28713, 828-488-6999) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT COOLANT WAS SEEPING INTO THE CYLINDER. DUE TO THE DEFECT, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS GIVEN A QUOTE OF $7,000 FOR THE COST OF LABOR AND REPAIRS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
OUR 2017 FORD EDGE EXPERIENCED CATASTROPHIC TRANSMISSION FAILURE WHILE DRIVING - WITH ABSOLUTELY NO ADVANCE WARNING. THE TORQUE CONVERTER FELL APART AND THE VEHICLE WENT FROM DRIVING AT SPEED TO LOSING ALL MOMENTUM. IF WE HAD BEEN IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, SOMEONE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. FORD HAS IDENTIFIED THIS ISSUE WITH 2017 FORD EDGE VEHICLES. THERE WAS A RECALL IN 2017 FOR THIS PROBLEM FOR VEHICLES BUILT DURING THE TIME PERIOD THAT OURS WAS BUILT, BUT ACCORDING TO FORD, OURS WAS NOT INVOLVED IN THAT RECALL (NHSTA ID #18V390000). IN 2018, FORD ADDED A RECALL ON 25 ADDITIONAL VEHICLES BECAUSE THEY FOUND THAT MORE DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSIONS HAD BEEN INSTALLED THAN INITIALLY THOUGHT (NHSTA ID#17V427000). OURS WAS ALSO NOT ONE OF THOSE IDENTIFIED. OUR VEHICLE HAD 67,032 MILES WHEN THE TORQUE CONVERTER FAILED IN EXACTLY THE FASHION DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL. FORD REFUSED TO COVER THE REPAIR AS THE VEHICLE WAS PAST THE WARRANTY MILEAGE AND FORD WANTED CLOSE TO $5,000 TO REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION ON THIS TWO YEAR OLD VEHICLE. I AM CERTAIN THAT THIS ISSUE IS THE EXACT ISSUE THAT AFFECTED VEHICLES MANUFACTURED DURING THE SAME TIME FRAME WITH EXACTLY THE SAME TRANSMISSION. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP I WAS TOWED TO AGREED THAT I HAD THE EXACT SAME ISSUE AS WAS IDENTIFIED, BUT TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO ESCALATE THE CONCERNS I HAD. I AM CONVINCED THAT FORD IS DOWNPLAYING THE NUMBER OF VEHICLES AFFECTED AND AM CERTAIN THAT THIS WILL IMPACT MORE 2017 FORD EDGE VEHICLES. THEY WERE OF ABSOLUTELY NO HELP IN ADDRESSING ANY OF MY CONCERNS, BUT SHOULD BE CONTACTED TO CONFIRM THAT THE ISSUE WAS JUST AS DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL. THE TAIL LIGHT REFLECTOR HAS MAJOR CONDENSATION PROBLEMS. THIS PROBLEM IS CAUSING WATER TO SIT AND OVER TIME ALGAE HAS FORMED. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG 2015-2018 FORD EDGE MODELS. THIS CAN BE A SAFETY ISSUE ONCE ALGAE HAS FORMED DUE TO THE LACK OF VISIBILITY OF REVERSE TAIL LIGHTS BEING SEEN.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT OFF AND TURNED BACK ON THE NEXT DAY AND READ THE SAME CODES. FORD SAYS THIS WAS FROM A DESIGN FLAW BUT HASN'T BEEN RECALLED, BUT THE NEW MOTORS HAVE BEEN REDESIGNED. I WOULD HAVE TO PURCHASE A NEW LONG BLOCK AND SERVICE FOR $7000 WHEN THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED DUE TO HOW MANY IT HAS AFFECTED.

The contact's husband, an independent mechanic, diagnosed that the head gasket needed to be replaced and antifreeze was leaking into cylinder #2 and making an abnormal sound. MILEAGE DOES NOT MEET THE FUEL ECONOMY AND ENVIRONMENT RANGE STATED ON THE WINDOW STICKER AND VEHICLE DESCRIPTION WHEN THE CAR WAS PURCHASED. MY CAR IS A 2017 FORD EDGE SEL AWD WITH THE TWIN-SCRL 2.0L ECOBOOST ENGINE AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE WINDOW STICKER STATES MPG TO BE 20 IN THE CITY AND 27 ON THE HIGHWAY AND 23 COMBINED CITY/HWY. CURRENTLY THE MPG SHOWN IN THE DASHBOARD IS 15 TO 16 COMBINED CITY/HWY WHICH SEEMS TO BE CONSISTENT FROM THE DAY I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. I HAVE MENTIONED THIS TO A FORD CAR DEALER REPRESENTATIVE AND THE RESPONSE IS THAT I HAVE AN AWD RATHER THAN FRONT WHEEL DRIVE. I ALSO HAVE A 2015 FORD EDGE WITH THE SAME ENGINE AND THE MPG FALLS WITHIN AND OFTEN EXCEEDS THE MPG STATED ON THE WINDOW STICKER. WHETHER OR NOT THE AWD GETS LESS MPG THAT A FWD GETS IS NOT MY COMPLAINT. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT THE ACTUAL MPG FOR MY AWD FORD EDGE SHOULD BE WITHIN THE RANGE OF WHAT THE WINDOW STICKER REPRESENTS, I.E. 20 CITY, 27 HIGHWAY, AND 23 OVERALL. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON 3/11/2019 IN WAS IN A TSP STATUS WITH FORD THAT TURNED INTO A RECALL. THE RECALL HAS NOT BEEN SUCCESSFULLY REPAIRED TO THIS DATE AND HAS BEEN INTO THE SERVICE CENTER 10 TIMES. IT IS CURRENTLY THERE AGAIN. FORD HAS MADE ALL OF THE REPAIRS UNDER WARRANTY. HOWEVER, A DANGEROUS ISSUE PERSISTS WITH THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE CANNOT BE DRIVEN AND FORDS MASTER MECHANICS HAVE NOT SOLVED THE ISSUES. THE VEHICLE CANNOT BE DRIVEN BECAUSE IT PRESENTS A VERY CLEAR HAZARD FOR THE OCCUPANTS AS WELL AS THE PUBLIC. THE ENGINE LOOSES COOLANT RAPIDLY WITH FORD NOT BEING ABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE COOLANT GOES. THE ENGINE SEIZES AND CAUSES YOU TO HAVE TO IMMEDIATELY STOP.
TODAY, I NOTICED WAVY CRACKS THROUGHOUT MY REAR SUNROOF (AS I WALKED OUT TO MY STATIONARY PARKED CAR). THEY ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY TRAUMA TO THE ROOF. I GOOGLED THESE CRACKS AND THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS FROM FORD OWNERS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUES. SOME OWNERS HAVE REPLACED THEIR SUNROOFS 3 AND 4 TIMES OVER. IT IS OBVIOUS THE GLASS IS DEFECTIVE. THERE ARE MULTIPLE MENTIONS OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. THE CRACKS ARE A SAFETY CONCERN CONSIDERING THEY MAY CRACK FURTHER AND FALL INTO THE BACK SEAT ON PASSENGERS. I WILL BE RETURNING TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE 3RD TIME ON 1/18/19 FOR SAME PROBLEM. I AM CONCERNED THAT EITHER THIS IS A RECALL ISSUE OR DEALERSHIP IS UNAWARE OF HOW TO REPAIR.
LIVING IN COLORADO IT GET VERY COLD AT TIMES. A GAP AT THE FRONT EDGE OF THE REAR WHEEL WELL OPENING ALLOWS MELTED SNOW OR ICE TO GET INTO THE AREA AND UNDER THE REAR DOORS. THE LIQUID RE-FREEZES AND SEALS THE DOOR SHUT. IT CAN NOT BE OPENED. PUTTING HEAT LAMPS NEAR THE TWO AREAS (BOTH SIDES) TOOK OVER AN HOUR TO THAW THE ICE AND ALLOW THE DOOR(S) TO OPEN. #2 BRAKES SQUEAK WHEN BACKING UP - REPORTED TO DEALER SEVERAL TIME AND BRAKES WERE CHECKED - WORST AGAIN IN COOL WEATHER. I MAY NOT SEEM LIKE A BIG DEAL TO HAVE THE REAR DOORS FREEZE SHUT BUT IT IS POTENTIALLY VERY SERIOUS IF THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE EXITED IN A HURRY IN AN EMERGENCY.

THIS VEHICLE IS IN PERFECT CONDITIONS AND HAS NO ACCIDENT HISTORY. FORD LINCOLN OF FRANKLIN (TN) WILL REQUIRE NEARLY $1000 TO PERFORM TSB 18-2057, WHICH IS AT BEST A GUESSING GAME AS TO WHERE THE FUMES ENTER VEHICLE! AT THIS POINT, I'M SURE FORD MOTOR COMPANY KNOWS WHERE THE FLAW IS, JUST LIKE THEY DENY EXHAUST FUMES IN THE FORD EXPLORER.

THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE CONCERN SPOKE WITH FORD CUSTOMER CARE THEY OPENED A CASE ON THIS AND HELPED GET THE VEHICLE LOOKED AT ORIGINAL DEALER VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AT.
