I recently purchased this vehicle. The driver seatbelt does not retract snugly when fastened. The tensioner is not working. I am afraid it will not hold me if I crash. I will fix this. It is a serious safety issue!
Drivers side, front seatbelt buckle is not latching properly without multiple attempts. Release latch seems to stick when depressed to release the belt, so then will not latch the next time it is inserted.
Older man pulled out in front of me, I t-boned his truck going 47 mph. His insurance totaled it. The airbags never deployed.

The contact stated that the seat belt failed to latch properly, and the contact had to pull the seat belt several times to securely latch the seat belt. The dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer referred the contact to the manufacturer for additional assistance. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHSTA Hotline for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 126,000.

DRIVERS SEATBELT DOESN'T LATCH PROPERLY. I HAVE TO KEEP PULLIN THE SEAT BUCKLE IN AND OUT SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL IT FINALLY LATCHES. THIS OCCURS PRETTY MUCH EVERY TIME I PUT ON THE SEATBELT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO SHAWNEE MISSION FORD (11501 SHAWNEE MISSION PKWY, SHAWNEE, KS 66203) WHERE THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT HOW THE AIR BAGS MAY DEPLOYED DEPENDING ON HOW THE VEHICLE WAS CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO WARRANTY ON THE AIR BAGS AND FILED A COMPLAINT. I WAS DRIVING DOWN A MAJOR ROAD WHEN A DEER RAN OUT IN FRONT OF ME. I WAS GOING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH. I SLAMMED ON MY BRAKES BUT HIT THE DEER ANYWAY. I WAS GOING APPROXIMATELY 40-45 MPH WHEN I HIT THE DEER WITH THE FRONT OF MY CAR. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE GRILL, BUMPER, AND HOOD RECEIVED MAJOR DAMAGE AND NEEDS REPLACED. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.
PURCHASED CAR 4/30/19 WITH 46,949 AT 47,323 AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON. RETURNED TO FORD 6/11/19 WITH 47,489 MILES AND FORD ADVISES IT IS COVERED UNDER THE SRS 5/60 WARRANTY. AFTER 3 DAYS IN THE SHOP, FORD SAID IT WAS A SEAT PAD SENSOR AND THEY HAVE TO ORDER THE PART. RETURNED 6/26/19 TO INSTALL A SEAT PAD SENSOR WHICH DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THEY WERE CONTACTING FORD FOR ASSISTANCE. IT HAS BEEN 26 DAYS AND NO ANSWERS. I DO NOT KNOW IF MAY SRS WORKS.
SEAT BELT NO LONGER RETRACTS. I DON'T KNOW EXACT DATE BUT ITS BEEN A FEW WEEKS.
WE BOUGHT THIS CAR USED WITH 33000 MILES. IT NOW HAS 46000 MILES. AT 37000 MILES THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT STARTED TO RANDOMLY LOCK UP. IT WOULD PIN MY WIFE TO THE SEAT BACK. EVERY TIME WE HAD TO STOP THE CAR TO UNBUCKLE, THEN FEED THE BELT BACK INTO THE MECHANISM TO PULL IT BACK OUT. IF SHE LEANED FORWARD TO ADJUST THE RADIO IT WOULD SOMETIMES LET OUT AN INCH OR TWO OR THREE, THEN LOCK. WE THEN HAD TO STOP THE CAR, UNBUCKLE AND FEED IT BACK IN, THEN START OVER. SOMETIMES IT LOCKS IN PLACE AS SOON AS SHE BUCKLES UP BE FORE I START THE CAR. SOMETIMES IT WILL GO SEVERAL DAYS WITH NO ISSUE. OUR LOCAL DEALER IS MULLINAX FORD OF OLYMPIA WA.THEY REPLACED IT UNDER THE 50000MILE SAFETY WARRANTY. IT DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. IT STILL RANDOMLY LOCKED UP AND WE HAVE TO STOP THE CAR TO UNBUCKLE AND FEED IT BACK IN. THEY RE[PLACED IT AGAIN. IT STILL LOCKS UP. I TRIED MOVING THE ADJUSTABLE UPPER ANCHOR POINT. THAT SEEMS TO FIX THE PROBLEM FOR THAT DAY. THE NEXT DAY ITS BACK. THEY CLAIM THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. "THIS IS NORMAL." MY 1973 PINTO DID NOT DO THIS, NOR DID MY 1993 AEROSTAR OR MY 1985 PONTIAC. MY 1993 F150 PICK UP DOES NOT ACT LIKE THIS. MY CONCERN IS THAT IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH SHE WILL BE STUCK IN THE CAR IF THE RELEASE BUTTON IN DAMAGED OR UNREACHABLE. I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS NORMAL. MY DAUGHTER INFORMS ME THAT THE RIGHT SIDE REAR BELT HAS STARTED TO DO THIS. SO BOTH BELTS ON THE RIGHT SIDE HAVE ISSUES, BUT NOT THE LEFT SIDE. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE BELTS? IS THERE A DESIGN OR PRODUCTION CHANGE THAT NEEDS CORRECTION? PLEASE INVESTIGATE. I HAVE SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION INCLUDING EMAILS WITH FORD, BUT YOUR SYSTEM WILL NOT ACCEPT THEM DUE TO FILE SIZE. WE WERE INVOLVED IN A FRONT END COLLISION AND THE AIR BAG SENSORS WERE DAMAGED BUT NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. EVERYONE FROM WITNESSES TO FIRST RESPONDERS WERE SURPRISED THEY DIDN'T GO OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND WAS TOTALED OUT FROM A FRONT PASSENGER SIDE COLLISION. WE WERE DRIVING STRAIGHT AND THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED IN TOWN.

TAKADA RECALL I WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT WHERE A DRIVER RAN THE RED LIGHT AND T BONED MY CAR WITH GREAT FORCE CAUSING A THREE OTHER CARS TO BE HIT AND MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY .IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL SATURDAY AFTERNOON AROUND 3:30PM IN HOUSTON TX.
ELECTRIC THROTTLE BODY FAILURE AND LIMP MODE CAUSES UNSAFE BREAK DOWNS: WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 70 MPH THE HIGHWAY MY CAR VERY RAPIDLY DECELERATED AND SEVERAL SERVICE LIGHTS TURNED ON. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF OF THE HIGHWAY AND RAN A VEHICLE HEALTH REPORT. THE REPORT INDICATED A FAILURE TO THE RESTRAINT SYSTEM (DEFINED AS AIRBAGS OR SEATBELT). THIS MEANS THAT IF THE SUDDEN DECELERATION WITHOUT BRAKE LIGHTS HAD CAUSED A COLLISION THE AIRBAGS MAY HAVE ALSO MALFUNCTIONED. IN ADDITION TO THE SAFETY SYSTEM MALFUNCTION A POWERTRAIN MALFUNCTION, AND TC, IVD, RSC EVENT OF FAULT WAS REPORTED. I TOOK THE CAR TO A DEALERSHIP AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A ELECTRIC THROTTLE BODY MALFUNCTION. THEY SAID IT WAS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. IT DOESN'T SEEM SAFE TO HAVE A CAR RAPIDLY DECELERATE ITSELF WHEN A PART FAILS ESPECIALLY IF THAT CAUSES THE COMPUTER TO REPORTS A SAFETY SYSTEM MALFUNCTION AS WELL.
