COOPER TIRES 265/70/17 DISCOVERER M+S. BELT SEPARATION AND TIRE DEFORMITY ON 3 OF 4 TIRES IN THE LAST 1000 MILES. 2 FAILED WITHIN THE LAST 200 MILES. IN MOTION, HIGHWAY. . SEVERE VIBRATION OCCURRED. (THINK PAINT MIXER) LOW USE 80% TREAD REMAINS. MAX USE OF 3K MILES PER YEAR BUT NOT ALL YEARS. PURCHASED IN 2013. DOT RM1Y C6J 2412 COOPER CUSTOMER SERVICE CLAIMS I DIDN'T USE THEM ENOUGH. *TR
MY CAR AT TIMES WILL GIVE A HARD START. TURNING, BUT NOT FULLY TURNING OVER OR GIVES OFF A SOUND THAT I CAN ONLY DESCRIBE AS AN ELEPHANT TRUMPETING. WHEN IT DOES START AT TIMES IT WILL SHUT COMPLETELY OFF JUST AS FAST. IT HESITATES TO PICK UP ADEQUATE SPEED AND WILL STUMBLE OR JERK, AND WHEN PUT IN REVERSE IT WILL COMPLETELY STALL OUT. I'VE HAD A NEW BATTERY INSTALLED, AND THE SPARK PLUGS AND BOOTS HAVE BEEN CHANGED, BUT TO NO AVAIL.
THE CAR TURNS OFF. I NEED TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK WAIT A FEW MINUTES THEN TURN THE CAR BACK ON AND IT WORKS. THE BAD THING IS IT CAN HAPPEN AT ANY TIME.
MY TRUCK LOST ALL FORWARD GEARS EXCEPT FOR REVERSE OUT OF THE BLUE THE OTHER MORNING WHEN ATTEMPTING TO LEAVE HOME. VALVE BODY, SERVOS, SOLENOIDS, HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND STILL HAS NOT CORRECTED THE ISSUE. THE VEHICAL HAS LESS THEN 155000 MILES
I WAS DRIVING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND MY CAR LITERALLY SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING.. I COASTED TO THE SIDE AND I TURNED OFF CAR.. TRIED TO TURN IT BACK ON AND IT KEPT CRANKING AND I KEPT DOING IT LIKE 5 TIMES UNTIL IT STARTED BACK UP. SURE IT IS A 2005, BUT IT HAS BEEN GIVING ME PROBLEMS SINCE I GOT IT, NOW IT IS WORSE. I DON'T BELIEVE IT IS WEAR AND TEAR I ACTUALLY REPLACED THE WHOLE ENGINE 4 YEARS AFTER I BOUGHT MY CAR WHICH IS RIDICULOUS TO BEGIN WITH. IF MY CAR BURNS UP WHILE I AM DRIVING I WILL REALLY MAKE A STINK..
CRANK NO START, AFTER REPLACED NEW FUEL PUMP, FILTER AND OTHER PARTS WOULD NOT START AND NOT GETTING FUEL. WAS IN MOTION AND DIED AFTER MAKING A RIGHT TURN AFTER FILLING FUEL TANK.
MY GEAR SHIFT BROKE WHICH BROKE THE STEERING COLUMN AND I FEEL LIKE THIS IS DEFAULTED SYSTEM SO DO FORD BECAUSE DID CONTINUE THIS STEERING COLUMN SO I HAD TO REPLACE IT WITH ONE FROM JUNK YARD SO HOW IS THAT SAFE FOR ME AS A CONSUMER WELL I FILING THIS JUST IN CASE IT BREAK AGAIN AND MY LIFE IS IN DANGER MY CAR CAME OUTTA OF PARK LIKE TO TANNED ME OVER SO I'M SPEAKING UP BECAUSE THIS PUT MY LIFE IN DANGER
ALUMINUM BODY PANELS ARE CORRODING UNDERNEATH THE PAINT, CAUSING BUBBLING, FLAKING, AND CHIPPING OF THE PAINT. THIS IS NOT CAUSED NATURALLY, THIS IS A FAILURE ON THE PART OF FORD AND THEIR QUALITY CONTROL. THE ALUMINUM UNDERNEATH WAS CONTAMINATED FROM THE FACTORY WITH IRON CAUSING CORROSION. WHILE KNOWING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, THEY FAILED TO ISSUE A RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH, THE FUEL CAP AND THE TIRE SENSOR WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (CAPITAL FORD OF CHARLOTTE LOCATED AT 5411 N TRYON ST, CHARLOTTE, NC 28213) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIRE SENSOR, THE FUEL CAP AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL CAP WARNING LIGHT, FAILURE OCCURRED EVEN AFTER REPLACING THE PART. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED AND WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,368.
THE PAINT IS PEELING ON THE EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR IN LARGE PATCHES FOR NO OBVIOUS REASONS INCLUDING RUST OR ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS LIKE BEING CLOSE TO SALT WATER. THE PEELING PAINT IS PRIMARILY ON THE BACK HATCH BUT ALSO SOME PAINT BUBBLING IS OCCURRING ON A FEW OTHER SMALL SPOTS ON THE VEHICLE. THERE IS ALSO EVIDENCE OF SIGNIFICANT LEAKS OF WATER INTO THE BODY BUT NO OBVIOUS POINTS OF ENTRY.
FUEL PUMP DRIVER MODULE FAILED DUE TO DESIGN FLAW WHICH CAUSED GALVANIC CORROSION. ALUMINUM BODY OF COMPONENT ACTS AS THE SACRIFICIAL ANODE FOR THE FRAME WHICH IS STEEL. THIS CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO STALL AT 65MPH AND LOSE POWER AND THUS CAUSED THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND HYDRAULIC BRAKE BOOSTER WHILE TRAVELING A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. THIS COULD BE ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS ON HIGHWAYS, CONGESTED AREAS, OR AREAS WITH PEDESTRIANS SUCH AS SCHOOLS. I HAVE ALSO NOTIFIED FORD OF THIS PROBLEM.
VEHICLE VIBRATES BADLY ESPECIALLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. VIBRATION IS SO BAD, THE VEHICLE ROCKS SIDE-TO-SIDE WHILE DRIVING. DRIVING AT HIGHWAY TURNPIKE SPEED OF 75MPH, VEHICLE ENGINE BEGAN TO SURGE AND THEN COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. OIL PRESSURE GAUGE INDICATED LOW OIL PRESSURE AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. VEHICLE STILL HAD ELECTRICAL FUNCTION BUT ENGINE NO LONGER WOULD TURN OVER. CHECKED ENGINE OIL LEVEL AND HAD ENGINE OIL. CALLED HIGHWAY PATROL AND HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED. *TR
TWICE I'VE BEEN DRIVING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I LOST POWER AND "ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL" MESSAGE CAME ON. ACCELERATOR WOULD NOT WORK, COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD-- 2ND TIME IN HEAVY TRAFFIC!! BOTH TIMES I TURNED OFF ENGINE AND RESTARTED OK, BUT I'M SCARED TO DEATH TO DRIVE WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. DRIVING STRAIGHT ON CITY STREET BOTH TIMES. *TR
THIS CAR JUST NUMEROUS OF PROBLEM..... WHO EVER BUILT THIS CAR DID NOT HAVE A GOOD JOB OF DOING IT
TAKATA RECALL. MY FORD EXPEDITION 2005, HAS BEEN MESSING UP FOR A WHILE NOW. WE'VE TAKEN IT TO THE MECHANIC WAY TOO MANY TIMES. IT STARTS SHAKING SOMETIMES WHEN WE STEP ON THE GAS AFTER WE STOP AT A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN, AND GOING UP A HILL IT FEEL A LIKE IT HESITATES AND FEELS AS IF IT'S PULLING BACK. YESTERDAY WAS WHAT STARTED TO CONCERN ME THOUGH. MY VEHICLE JUST SHUT OFF ON ME COMPLETELY WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY. MY FORD FOCUS 2012 HAS BEEN DOING THE SAME THING AND IT TURNS OUT IT HAD A RECALL ISSUE, SO I WAS WONDERING IF THAT'S THE CASE WITH MY EXPEDITION.
ENGINE MAKES RATTLING NOISE AND MISSING BADLY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD EXPEDITION. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED ABNORMALLY AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I HAVE AN 05 EXPEDITION EDDIE BAUER EDITION AND THE TRUCK WAS SHUDDERING AND VIBRATING WHILE ON INCLINE OR DRIVING. IT ALSO WOULD HESITATE UPON ACCELERATION. THE NEXT DAY THE TRUCK WILL ONLY ROLL IN REVERSE IT WILL NOT DRIVE FORWARD AND THE "CHECK ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL" MESSAGE CONTINUES TO POP UP. DROVE IT AND ALL OF A SUDDEN IT WOULDN'T SHIFT, AND ALL GAUGES WENT FLAT, TRUCK WAS STILL REVVING BUT GAUGES WERE AT ZERO AND THE TRUCK WOULDN'T MOVE. I WAS GOING 60 MPH. AND IT JUST STOPPED MOVING COMPLETELY. CANNOT DRIVE THE TRUCK.
MY SUV WAS PARKED IN PARKING LOT OF A STORE. SMOKE STARTED COMING OUT FROM MY VEHICLE. THEN IT STARTED TO CATCH ON FIRE. FIRE FIGHTERS SAID THE FIRE STARTED FROM THE FUEL INJECTORS.
SAME AS EVERYONE ELSE DRIVING NORMALLY AND TRUCK COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF 4 DIFFERENT TIMES ALL DIFFERENTLY I CHANGED THE FUEL PUMP DRIVER MODULE HAD FUEL TANK DROPPED AND CHANGED FUEL FILTER AND PUMP I'M NOT GOING TO LIE I LOVE MY BABY SHE'S BEEN GOOD TO ME BESIDES THIS I HAVE 250,000 PLUS MILES ON HER AND COUNTING AND NEVER FACED PROBS TILL NOW I'VE RECENTLY THIS YEAR (TECHNICALLY) REBUILT HER MOTOR AND THAT'S IT . MY ENGINE SAID FAIL SAFE MODE. MY SPARK PLUGS GOT STUCK IN ENGINE COSTING ME 1000 TO FIX.
MY 2005 EXPEDITION IS MAINTAINED NORMALLY AND SPARK PLUGS CHANGED AND THE ENGINE WILL EITHER CUT OFF OR SLOW DOWN TO ABOUT 30 MILES AN HOUR WHILE I AM ON THE HIGHWAY WITH A ERROR MESSAGE FAIL SAVE MODE. MOST TIMES WHEN I SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTART IT TURNS OVER BUT DOESN'T STAY ON. TOTALLY UNSAFE FOR ME AND MY FAMILY. PLEASE RESEARCH AND RECALL WHAT THE ISSUE IS! THIS ISSUE HAS STARTED ABOUT 4 YEARS AFTER WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND HAS BEEN HAPPENING MAYBE ONE TO TWO TIMES A MONTH SINCE.
WAS DRIVING AND EXPERIENCED COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE, NO WARNING, WENT TO STOP AND HAD NO BRAKES WHAT SO EVER! THE BRAKE LINE GOING TO THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT CALIPER HAD COMPLETELY RUSTED AWAY UNDER THE MIDDLE OF THE VEHICLE BETWEEN THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT TIRE AND THE ABS DISTRIBUTION BOX. I WAS ALWAYS TOLD THAT THE BRAKE SYSTEMS WERE DESIGNED WITH A TANDEM MASTER CYLINDER SO THAT IF AN EVENT LIKE THIS HAPPENED YOU WOULD STILL HAVE 2 WHEELS THAT HAD BRAKES. THIS OBVIOUSLY IS NOT THE CASE AS THERE WAS A COMPLETE LOSS OF ALL 4 BRAKES. LUCKILY I WAS ONLY DOING 25 MPH AND THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC WHERE I WAS WHEN THIS HAPPENED, IT TOOK A WAYS TO GET THE VEHICLE STOPPED BY APPLYING THE PARKING BRAKE. I DON'T WANT TO EVEN THINK WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I WAS ON THE FREEWAY DOING 70 MPH AND HAD TO STOP IN AN EMERGENCY AND THIS HAPPENED, I WOULD PROBABLY BE DEAD AND POSSIBLY SOMEONE ELSE ALSO. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED ASAP. PEOPLES LIVES ARE AT SERIOUS RISK HERE. I CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY THESE BRAKE LINES WOULD NOT BE MADE OUT OF 318 STAINLESS STEEL, THEY WOULD NEVER CORRODE AND THIS WOULD POSSIBLY SAVE LIVES. I AM TOTALLY CONVINCED THAT PEOPLE HAVE DIED FROM THIS HAPPENING. THIS IS NOTHING NEW WITH FORDS! MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT HE SEES FORD VEHICLES ALL THE TIME WITH RUSTED OUT BRAKE LINES AND PEOPLE THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE DUE TO THIS.
FOR MANY TIME THAT MY EXPEDITION HAS STALLED BECAUSE OF THE THROTTLE BODY FAILING. THE ENGINE GOES INTO SAFE MODE AND STALLS AND STOPS, THI IS VERY DANGER SITUATION
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT FAILED AND EMITTED HOT AIR FROM THE VENTS WHEN ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC SEVERAL TIMES WHERE THE BLENDER DOOR ACTUATOR, COMPRESSOR, AND CONTROL PANEL WERE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO ADVISED THAT THE FAILURE COULD HAVE BEEN ATTRIBUTED TO THE CONTROL HEAD THAT WAS LOCATED BEHIND THE CONTROL PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000.
I HAVE A 2005 FORD EXPEDITION AND HAVE MAINTAINED MY VEHICLE MAINTENANCE AND ONLY HAVE 124,000 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE. IT CONTINUES TO SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND CODE FAIL SAFE MODE ON CODE APPEAR AND WHEN I'M DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IT IS DANGEROUS. AFTER READING SO MANY COMPLAINTS THIS IS UNSAFE. ALSO, THE COMPUTER ISSUES WITH LOCKING DOORS, FAILURE OF THE TRANSMISSION (WHICH I HAD TO REPLACE) SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT OF A VEHICLE. FORD SHOULD RECALL ENGINE AND COMPUTER ISSUES. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW $50,000 + AND HAVE NOT BE ABLE TO DEPEND ON THE STABILITY SINCE I'VE HAD IT.

MY 15 YEAR OLD SON AND MY LIFE WERE PLACED IN SERIOUS DANGER, BY THE GROSS NEGLIGENCE AND DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES PROMOTED BY THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY, REGARDING SCAN CODE P2106. SINCE AS EARLY AS FEBRUARY 26, 2013 FORD MOTOR COMPANY WAS MADE AWARE OF A DANGEROUS DEFECT CONCERNING THE MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS OF THEIR MANUFACTURED PRODUCT RELEASED TO THE CONSUMER PUBLIC FOR PROFIT. THE VEHICLES ARE FORD TRUCKS, MANUFACTURED FROM 2003 - 2008, WITH THE V8 5.4 L ENGINE. PUBLIC RECORD REVEALS CASE NO. 12-7222, JASON SCHMIDT, (PLAINTIFF) VS. FORD MOTOR COMPANY, (DEFENDANT) FILED IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE EASTERN DISTRICT OF PENNSYLVANIA, THAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY IS WELL AWARE OF THIS ISSUE. I BELIEVE THAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS MADE NO ATTEMPTS TO INFORM FORD DEALERSHIP OWNERS, THE FORD DEALERSHIP MANAGERS OR FORD SERVICE REPAIR SHOP MANAGERS AT THE FORD DEALERSHIPS AND CONSUMERS WHO HAD ALREADY PURCHASED THEIR MANUFACTURED PRODUCT OF THE ISSUE. THIS ISSUE IS VERY DANGEROUS, I WAS TRAVELING 70 MPH, WITH MY SON IN THE TRUCK. FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS GONE ON RECORD, VIA TELEPHONE CONVERSATION, EXPLAINING TO ME THAT; "FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS NO CONTROL OVER HOW INDIVIDUAL DEALERSHIPS FUNCTION OR OPERATE THEIR ESTABLISHMENT PLACES OF BUSINESS, SORRY. BUT I CAN TAKE A COMPLAINT AND BE SURE THAT THE DEALERSHIP RECEIVES IT AND PROVIDE YOU WITH A COMPLAINT NUMBER". FLAMMER FORD, SPRING HILL, FL REPLACED A PART AND NEGLECTED TO TEST DRIVE THE TRUCK, RELEASED THE VEHICLE TO ME AND THE PART REPLACED WAS NOT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE TRUCK. I HAD MY TRUCK TOWED TO AUTONATION FORD IN BROOKSVILLE, FL FOR THE SAME ISSUE (P2106 CODE), THEY DID THE SAME THING, WITHOUT REPLACING A THING. ONLY THIS TIME, WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, MY TRUCK AND THE LOST ALL POWER. MY TRUCK IS BACK AT AUTONATION FORD IN NEED OF A NEW TRANSMISSION.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES EXHIBITED CRACKS AND SEVERE OUTER TIRE TREAD SEPARATION. THE DEFECTIVE TIRES WERE NOT REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD EXPEDITION. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE ENGINE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,800.
SINCE PURCHASING THE EXPEDITION IN DECEMBER 2014, I'VE HAD SEVERAL INCIDENTS OF "CHECK ENGINE THROTTLE" WARNINGS AND THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN, SUDDENLY. THIS SEEMS TO ALSO HAVE A SECONDARY ISSUE OF THE TRUCK HESITATING/SPUTTERING AROUND 40-50MPH. THE VEHICLE HAS SHUT DOWN ON ME IN CITY TRAFFIC QUITE A FEW TIMES AND ONCE ON AN EXIT RAMP OF THE HIGHWAY. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION TO EXPERIENCE. THE DEALER MENTIONED POSSIBLE SPARK PLUG ISSUES. WHEN THE "CHECK ENGINE" ICON FINALLY CAME ON, I HAD IT READ BY THE DEALER AND AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE CODE IS A P2104. THE DEALER NEVER GOT BACK TO ME ON A REMEDY FOR THIS. THE MECHANIC SAYS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL MUST BE REPLACED AND COULD BE THE CAUSE OF BOTH ISSUES. I WAS DRIVING MY 2005 FORD EXPEDITION WEST ON EISENHOWER BLVD AT ABOUT 25 MPH. I PROCEEDED THROUGH THE INTERSECTION OF EISENHOWER AND CLEVELAND AVE WHEN A PICK-UP TRUCK RAN A RED LIGHT AND COLLIDED WITH THE RIGHT FRONT OF MY VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE SUSTAINED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT BUMPER, RIGHT FRONT FENDER AND FRONT PASSENGER DOOR, COMPLETELY DISLODGING THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL AND BUCKLING THE FRAME OF THE VEHICLE. ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL HELP, I HAVE A 2005 EXPEDITION,. THE THING HAS JUST STARTED SHUTTING DOWN ON ME WHILE DRIVING. DRIVING UP A SMALL INCLINE AND THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. I HAD ELECTRICAL POWER JUST NO FUEL GETTING TO THE ENGINE. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE FUEL TANK WAS JUST BELOW A 1/4 TANK. ADD A GALLON OF GAS AND TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR. IT WOULD NOT RESTART. CALLED FOR THE TOW TRUCK TO TAKE TO THE GARAGE. THE GARAGE HAD TO DROP THE FUEL TANK AND TOLD ME THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE WAS BAD. THEY HANDED ME THE MODULE UPON PICKING UP MY VEHICLE AND I CAN TELL YOU WHY THE MODULE WENT BAD. IT HAS A HOLE IN IT FROM CORROSION. I HAVE SAID MODULE IF ANYONE FROM FORD OR NHTSA WOULD LIKE TO EXAMINE THE MODULE. *TR
WHILE SETTING AT A STOP LIGHT A WARNING MESSAGE CAME ON ABOUT CHECKING ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL. WHEN I RELEASE THE BRAKE TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I COASTED INTO THE INTERSECTION ONLY TO FIND THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDDLE HAD NO RESPONSE. FORTUNATELY THE ENGINE IDLE WAS ENOUGH TO GET ME THROUGH THE INTERSECTION BEFORE THE LIGHT TURNED RED. I THEN COASTED TO THE NEAREST PARKING LOT AND SHUT THE ENGINE OFF. RESTARTED THE VEHICLE WITH NO CHANGE IN ACCELERATOR PEDDLE RESPONSE. AFTER DOING RESEARCH AND SEEING NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH THIS SAME ISSUE I SEE I WAS FORTUNATE TO HAVE NOT BEEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN THIS ISSUE HAPPEN. I HAVE A 2005 FORD EXPEDITION WITH ADJUSTABLE HEIGHT OF THE BRAKE PEDDLE. THE ADJUSTMENT DOES NOT WORK AND THE HEIGHT OF THE BRAKE PEDDLE IS AT A HEIGHT THAT WHEN THE BRAKE IS DEPRESSED IT IS ALSO POSSIBLE THAT THE ACCELERATOR IS ALSO DEPRESSED CAUSING UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION.
