TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD EXPLORER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN OPEN THROTTLE FAILURE THAT CAUSED FUMES TO ENTER THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO THAT LISTED IN NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: EA17002 (STRUCTURE, ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING), BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
STEERING BECAME HEAVY AND STIFF WITHOUT WARNING. TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILITY CONTROLS FAILED TO WORK CAUSING TROUBLE LIGHTS TO COME ON. TURN SIGNALS WILL NOT STAY ACTIVATED. STEERING FAULT INDICATOR ALSO ILLUMINATED. VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN AT NORMAL SPEEDS ON A LEVELED CITY ROAD.
FORD EXPLORER LOOSES POWER STEERING. 2014 FORD EXPLORER LOOSES POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING. SEVERAL CODES ARE GENERATED. THESE CODES MATCH THE CODES AND PROBLEMS WITH THE 2011-2013 FORD STEERING MODULES. I HAD IT HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH SAGNIFICANT LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL. I CONTACTED FORD AND THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. IV ATTACHED A PICTURE OF THE DIAGNOSTICS SCREEN FROM FORD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD EXPLORER. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE STEERING SEIZED WHEN MAKING A TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN HOME AND WAS LATER TAKEN TO NORRIS FORD (901 MERRITT BLVD, BALTIMORE, MD 21222, (410) 285-0200). THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE PARTS REPLACED WERE UNKNOWN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTING THEY COULD DO SINCE THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA AND FILE A COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,500.
THE PLASTIC COVERING ON THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW PILLAR FLEW OFF WHILE GOING THROUGH AN AUTOMATED CAR WASH. AFTER INSPECTING THE PASSENGER SIDE I NOTICED IT IS LOOSE ALSO AND WILL PROBABLY FLY OFF AT SOME POINT ALSO.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, AND AT ABOUT 70 MPH THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDSHIELD TRIM RIPPED OFF AND LANDED ON THE HIGHWAY. WE ARE NOW MISSING THE TRIM PIECE AND WEATHER STRIPPING UNDER IT. THE OTHER TRIM PIECE ON THE DRIVER SIDE IS LOOSE AS WELL. TERRIBLE DESIGN FLAW!!!
MY WIFE DROVE OUR EXPLORER TO FT. WAYNE IN.(APRROX.20 MI.) TO GO SHOPPING. WHEN SHE GOT BACK INTO THE VEHICLE TO LEAVE PARKING LOT SHE WAS UNABLE TO STEER IT. SHE SAID THAT THE VEHICLE WAS MAKING NOISES WHEN SHE WOULD TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. MESSAGE CAME UP AS TRACTION CONTROL FAILURE AND TO PULL OF THE ROAD IMMEDIATELY. I HAD TO DRIVE OVER IN ANOTHER VEHICLE TO BRING THE VEHICLE HOME. IT TOOK EVERY EFFORT I HAD TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE HOME TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER. THE FORD DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY FOR A TOTAL COST OF 1603.06$. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 61K MILES
WE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AROUND WITH ABOUT 10,000 MILES ON MAY 2018 STATING WE SMELLED EXHAUST FUMES INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THEY PUT SOME TYPE OF RUBBER PLUGS IN THE LIFT GATE REAR HATCH. THIS DIDN'T CURE THE PROBLEM. BROUGHT THE VEHICLE BACK ON AUGUST 21, 2018 WITH 13,800 MILES AND TOLD THEM WHEN WE TRIED TO ENTER A FREEWAY WHILE ACCELERATING INTO TRAFFIC WITH THE A/C ON THERE IS A VERY PROFOUND ODOR OF EXHAUST FUMES INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THEY STATED THERE WAS A TSB ISSUED FOR THIS VEHICLE BACK IN 2016 FOR THIS ISSUE. BUT UNFORTUNATELY EVEN THOUGH THE CAR ONLY HAS 13,800 MILES ON IT NOW, IT IS OVER THE 3 YEAR WARRANTY PERIOD AND THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WE PURCHASED FROM THEM FOR 50,000 OR FIVE YEARS WON'T COVER IT EITHER. DEALER WANTS TO CHARGE US 1,100 FOR THE REPAIRS. WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED EARLIER IF WE WERE TOLD BACK IN 2016 THERE WAS A TSB FOR THIS PROBLEM WHILE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THIS CAR MAY BE FIVE YEARS OLD BUT IT ONLY HAD 10,000 MILES WHEN IT WAS BROUGHT IN THE FIRST TIME. CAR IS JUST ABOUT BRAND NEW AND THEY WANT US TO PAY FOR REPAIRS ON A NEW VEHICLE THAT HAS A DEFECTIVE EXHAUST SYSTEM.
EXHAUST FUMES IN CABIN AREA, AFTER TAKING IT TO FORD DEALER FOR THEIR "UPDATE" THIS HAPPENS UNDER MODERATE ACCELERATION, HAS A NASTY ODOR AND HAS CAUSED ME TO HAVE A HEADACHE AT TIMES
THE WHOLE STEERING COLUMN AND POWER STEERING LOCKED DOWN DRIVING ABOUT 55 MPH WITHOUT WARNING. I HAD TO MUSCLE IT OFF THE ROAD AND OUT OF HARMS WAY. I HAD IT FIXED BY FORD AND NOW IT IS MESSING UP A SECOND TIME.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE SOO MOTORS FORD (391 3 MILE RD, SAULT STE. MARIE, MI 49783, (906) 632-2278) WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE DOOR PANEL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REPAIR WAS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,382.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD EXPLORER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, WHICH WAS A SAFETY CONCERN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (AUTONATION FORD ARLINGTON, 1400 I-20 W, ARLINGTON, TX 76017, (817) 200-4503) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIRE HARNESSES FOR THE REAR DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
2014 FORD EXPLORER SPORT. ON AUGUST 12 AFTER DRIVING @ 1 HOUR, I BRIEFLY TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. RESTARTED THE CAR WITHIN 5 MINUTES TO BACK INTO MY GARAGE AND RECEIVED A "STEERING ASSIST FAULT" WARNING AND THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AGAIN, LET IT COOL A WHILE, THEN WAS ABLE TO BACK IT INTO THE GARAGE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,022. THIS WAS THE 2ND TIME THE STEERING FAILED WITH THE FIRST INSTANCE ON AUG 2, 2018. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MARIN FORD AUG 28 (6995 REDWOOD BLVD, NOVATO, CA 94945 (415-914-1118) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING (EPAS) UNIT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED WITH @ COST OF $2500. THE MARIN FORD SERVICE ADVISOR, ROGER, INDICATED HE CONTACTED FORD AND WAS TOLD THIS WOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY OR BY ANY RECALL. UPON RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, IT APPEARS IT IS NOT UNCOMMON, CERTAINLY FOR OLDER MODEL EXPLORERS AND OTHER FORD VEHICLES WITH EPAS STEERING. IT SEEMS THERE MAY BE A KNOWN HEATING PROBLEM AFFECTING THE EPAS THERMAL CONNECTORS THAT FORD HAS TAKING SOME EFFORTS TO MITIGATE, BUT NOT CORRECT (HEAT SHIELDING, AIR CHANNELING, ETC). TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD EXPLORER. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THE POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LEO KAYTES FORD (145 NY-94, WARWICK, NY 10990, (845) 986-1131) WHERE IT WAS AWAITING DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,627.
HEAVY SMELL OF EXHAUST IN THE SUV WHILE DRIVING CARBON DIOXIDE IS AN ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL. DRIVING IT MAKES ME FEEL SICK/LIGHT HEADED....
TRANSFER CASE HAS LEAK AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED ACCORDING TO FORD. VEHICLE HAS 62,000 MILES AND OUT OF WARRANTY. LEAK WAS DISCOVERED AT APPROX 57,000 MILES BUT WAS ASSUMED TO BE A LEAK FROM SLOPPY OIL CHANGE. REPORTED TO FORD CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE ON 8-2-2018. THEY SAID NO WARRANTY COVERAGE APPLIES. TOLD TO SAVE RECEIPTS FOR REPAIR WORK IN CASE OF A NHTSA RECALL.
I NOTICED THE RUBBER STRIPPING ALONG THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY WINDSHIELD CAME LOOSE WHILE TRAVELING HOME ON THE HIGHWAY AND TORE AWAY. AFTER THAT, MY RIGHT SIDE WINDSHIELD PANEL (PILLAR) CAME DETACHED AND FLEW AWAY WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY.
RIGHT REAR TOE LINK BROKE WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. STEERING WAS COMPROMISED. THE LEFT REAR TOE LINK ALSO SHOWED SIGNS OF STRESS. THIS EXPLORER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V245000 PERHAPS FORD NEEDS TO EXPAND THE NUMBER OF CARS RECALLED DUE TO THIS ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD EXPLORER. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WHEEL MADE NOISE. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE HUB WAS LOOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BARTON FORD (1600 N MAIN ST, SUFFOLK, VA 23434, 757-539-1595) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART WAS UNAVAILABLE AND WAS ON BACKORDER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,124.
EXHAUST SMELL/FUMES WERE NOTICED TWICE ON A 3 HOUR TRIP. PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE FELT NAUSEATED AND HAD HEADACHES THAT WERE NOT PRESENT BEFORE THE TRIP AND WERE RELIEVED AFTER EXITING THE VEHICLE.
WE JUST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND TOOK IT ON A ROAD TRIP WHEN DRIVING WE SMELT STRONG EXHAUST ODORS MORE SO WHEN ACCELERATING. WE DIDNT THINK ANYTHING OF IT UNTIL WE STARTED GETTING HEADACHES AND OUR 2 CHILDREN WERE COMPLAINING OF NAUSEA AND DIZZINESS AN LATER ON STARTED THROWING UP. OUR RETURN TRIP HOME WE DROVE WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN AS TO KEEP FRESH AIR IN THE CABIN. WE PARKED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THERE WAS ALOT OF OTHER PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE SO WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE FROM AND ARE AWAITING TO HEAR BACK ON WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE.
WHEN SHIFTING THE CAR INTO PARK IT TAKES MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS FOR IT TO LOCK IN PARK AND SAFELY PARK THE VEHICLE. IN RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM I'VE DISCOVERED THAT THERE ARE 100'S HAVING THIS ISSUE, AND AT $1300, TO REPAIR,WHY ISN'T IT RECALLED?

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
THE FIRST TIME, THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE GARAGE AND AS I WAS BACKING OUT, THE TRACTION CONTROL AND POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE WARNINGS CAME. I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND EVERYTHING SEEMED TO REBOOT. THE NEXT TIME I WAS JUST PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT, BUT THIS TIME, THE CAR TOOK NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO FINALLY REBOOT. THEN I WAS ON A HIGHWAY AND WAS BARELY ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE BREAKDOWN LANE TO STOP AND TRY TO REGAIN POWER STEERING. THAT WAS VERY DANGEROUS! SHORTLY THEREAFTER, I TURNED ON THE CAR IN THE GARAGE, AND THE LIGHT CAME ON AND NEVER WENT OUT ALONG WITH THE POWER STEERING. MY QUESTION IS; WHY IS THIS EXACT PROBLEM A RECALL FOR 2011 2012 2013 EXPLORERS BUT NOT 2014? MY ACQUAINTANCE ALSO HAS AN EXPLORER AND IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE. CLEARLY FORD IS AWARE OF THIS DANGEROUS MALFUNCTION.
AT 61946 THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING FAILED. WHILE THE WIFE WAS DRIVING SHE NOTICED A DISTINCTIVE NOISE WHEN SHE TURNED AND IT PULLED SUDDENLY TO THE LEFT. FORTUNATELY THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT. UPON A INTERNET I FOUND THAT FROM 2008-2013 FORD EXPLORERS HAD HAD RECALLS DEALING WITH THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING. AFTER READING PREVIOUS YEAR COMPLAINTS, I CAN SAY THEY STILL HAVE ISSUES WITH THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING. FORD NEEDS TO KEEP THE RECALLS GOING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD EXPLORER. WHILE THE DRIVER, A POLICE OFFICER, WAS TRAVELING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. IN ADDITION, THE BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE HOSE CONNECTED TO THE CALIPER HAD FRACTURED. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A POLICE FACILITY WHERE AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE HOSE CONNECTED TO THE CALIPER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: CA3-15196031R3N7Z5. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,429.
WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH THE LEFT WHEEL FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING LEFT AND THE RIGHT FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING RIGHT WHILE HOLDING WHEEL STRAIGHT. VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. THEN STEERING ASSIST FAULT MESSAGE AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD EXPLORER. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL FAILED TO MOVE. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START AND THE OIL PRESSURE, STARTING SYSTEM FAILURE, TRACTION CONTROL, AND ENGINE COOLANT WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED A LOCAL DEALER (EXPRESSWAY FORD, 3800 HIGHWAY 62 W, MT VERNON, IN 47620, (812) 838-4366) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER A WARRANTY OR RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,336.
I DISCOVERED THAT ON EACH SIDE 1 OF THE 2 BOLTS SECURING THE SUB-FRAME STABILIZER BRACKET TO THE BODY WAS MISSING AND THE OTHER ONE WAS ALMOST OUT. IN THE ATTACHED PARTS DIAGRAM THE BOLTS ARE HS1. THE CAR HAS 104,000 MILES AND IT IS CLEAR THAT HAD I NOT NOTICED THE REMAINING 2 BOLTS WOULD HAVE FALLEN OUT LEAVING THE REAR OF THE SUB-FRAME ABLE TO MOVE AROUND. THE MAIN SUB-FRAME BOLTS WOULD THEN HAVE COME UNDER INCREASED STRAIN AND THE SUSPENSION WOULD HAVE BEEN SUBJECT TO INCREASED MOVEMENT IN UNINTENDED DIRECTIONS.
2014 EXPLORER SPORT - ISSUE STARTED AS SMALL CLICK/POP WHEN TURNING WHEEL LEFT OR RIGHT AT LOW SPEED AROUND 48K MILES. ISSUE HAS ESCALATED AT 51K MILES TO STEERING LOCKING UP MID-TURN, IN-MOTION STILL AT LOW SPEED FOR 3-5 SECONDS UNTIL IT RELEASES ON ITS OWN.
MY TRANSMISSION WILL NOT STAY IN PARK UNLESS I FORCE THE SHIFTER. FORD IS RECALLING 550,000 VEHICLES FOR THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM. MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. YA'LL SHOULD LOOK INTO THIS AS I BELIEVE THE 2014 FORD EXPLORER SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.
STEERING GEAR AND TIE ROD ISSUE. TIE RODS HAVE FAILED AND STEERING GEAR IS GOING OUT. DEALER RECOMMENDS COMPLETE REPLACEMENT. DIAGNOSIS IS THAT STEERING WILL LOCK UP WILL DRIVING ONCE STEERING GEAR COMPLETELY FAILS.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND BOTH PIECES OF THE WINDSHIELD TRIM FLEW OFF WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF ONE ANOTHER. LUCKILY ONE WAS PARTLY DETACHED AND I WAS ABLE TO KEEP IT FROM FLYING AND HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE, BUT THE OTHER ONE FLEW OFF. LUCKILY, IT DID NOT HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE, BUT EASILY COULD HAVE HIT A VEHICLE BEHIND OR BESIDE US.
TAKATA RECALL) I WAS DRIVING MY KIDS TO SCHOOL WHEN MY TRUCK MADE A CRAZY SOUND AND FELT LIKE CAR CAME TO A STOP WHILE GOING APPROX 40 MILES PER HOUR, IT THREW OUR BODIES IN A JERKING MOTION. I IMMEDIATELY GOT CAUTIOUS DRIVING NOW NO MORE THEN APPROX 5 MILES PER HOUR TO PREVENT US FROM JERKING US AS IT KEPT MAKING THE TRUCK JERK. AFTER CAUTIOUSLY DRIVING IT HOME AND HAVING TO KEEP MY KIDS OUT OF SCHOOL I PARKED IT AND GOT A EVALUATION ON TRUCK ISSUE WHICH I WAS TOLD SEEM TO BE TRANSMISSION I THEN AFTER GOT ON THE PHONE WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY WHO REFUSED TO ASSIST ME WITH ANY HELP OR EVEN TAKE MY COMPLAINT UNTIL I TOOK IT TO ONE OF THEIR DEALERS.I EXPLAINED TO HER THE REPRESENTATIVE I WAS LOOKING FOR THE BEST ADVICE AND SEE IF THEY BE WILLING TO WORK WITH ME BECAUSE AFTER LOOKING UP THIS MAKE AND MODELS TRANSMISSION I FOUND OUT THERE'S SEVERAL DEFECTS ALSO THE SAME STYLE OF TRANSMISSION BEING PUT INTO OTHER FORD VEHICLES . WHILE RESEARCHING I CAME ACROSS SEVERAL OWNERS WHO HAVE HAD NIGHTMARES ALSO WITH THEIR TRANSMISSIONS OR PARTS WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION . I AM REACHING OUT BECAUSE THE COST OF THIS IS GOING TO BE ABOUT $2000 FOR THE LABOR AND PART REPLACEMENT NOT INCLUDING MISSED TIME AT WORK LOST WAGES RENTAL VEHICLES.IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING AND COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS THAT THESE TRANSMISSIONS CAN JUST FAIL WITH NOTICE WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS .I HAVE TRIED TO GO THROUGH FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND GET SOME TYPE OF SOLUTION I'VE SEEN MANY CONSUMERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE AND FEEL FORD SHOULD TAKE MORE RESPONSIBILITY AND BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS WHAT'S IT GOING TO TAKE A LOST LIFE!? THE SAME VEHICLE HAS AN CARBONMINOXCIDE LEAK THAT IS KNOWN THROUGHOUT THEIR VEHICLE AND SUSPENSION ISSUES IN THE REAR THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE HAS MANY FAULTS TO IT AND I BELIEVE THEY ARE TRYING TO COVER IT TO SAVE THEM FROM PAYING THE COST BACK TO CONSUMERS . THE "DRIVER DOOR AJAR' WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN ENTERING OR EXITING THE VEHICLE EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED. I HAVE TO SLAM IT SEVERAL TIME TO GET THE LIGHT TO GO OFF.
THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT REMAINS ON EVEN THOUGHT THE DOOR IS FIRMLY CLOSED. THE WARNING LIGHT PREVENTS THE DOORS TO LOCK WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. WHEN THE CAR IS NOT IN MOTION AND THE WARNING LIGHT IS ON, THE KEY FOB ALARM DOES NOT ENGAGE THEREFORE INVITING CAR THEFT. THE WARNING LIGHT ISSUE BEGAN WHEN THE ODOMETER REACHED APPROXIMATELY 56,000 MILES.
STEERING ASSIST FAULT MESSAGE CAME UP WHEN MY WIFE STARTED DRIVING OFF TO PICK UP OUR KID FROM SCHOOL AND STEERING WAS EXCESSIVELY DIFFICULT FOR HER TO SAFELY MANAGE. VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 92,350 MILES.
40,000 MILES INTO A NEW CAR, REAR BRAKES ARE COMPLETELY WORN DOWN. THE PASSENGER SIDE NEEDED A NEW TEMPERATURE DOOR ACTUATOR TO ALLOW THE CLIMATE CONTROL TO WORK PROPERLY.
MY HUSBAND, SON AND MYSELF WERE DRIVING FROM HIGH POINT NC TO WINSTON SALEM NC ABOUT 30 MINUTES DRIVE, BEFORE ARRIVE TO OUR DESTINATION WE HAVE TO STOP ALMOS IN THE MIDDLE OF A ROAD BECAUSE WE WERE FEELING SHORT OF AIR ALMOST UNABLE TO BREATH AND FEELING CHEST SUPPRESSION AND NAUSEA OUR SON GIVE COMPLAIN ABOUT THE SMELL IN THE BACK SEAT BUT I WAS UNABLE TO FEEL IT DUE TO STUFF NOSE. MY HUSBAND HAD TO DRINK TWO BOTTLES OF WATER AND WE GOT OFF THE VEHICLE LIVING ALL DOORS OPEN, THE ODOR WAS VERY STRONG. IN MAY 15 2018 WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHEN WE LEARNED ABOUT THE CARBON MONOXIDE RECALL THEY SAY THEY MADE THE REPAIR AND TODAY MAY 23 WE ALMOST CRASH. I THANKS GOD WE STOPPED AND GOT OFF THE CAR.
STOPPED FOR FUEL ON 5/13/18. WHEN I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE I RECEIVED A WARNING STATING SERVICE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE. NO LONGER HAVE POWER STEERING, TRACTION CONTROL, OR TURN SIGNALS. BRINGING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY. VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED 10/2013.
WHEN WE FIRST RECEIVED THE VEHICLE WE WENT ON A ROAD TRIP TO AZ AND THE COMPUTER COMPLETELY BLACKED OUT ON THE DASH AND THE SUSPENSION WAS SUPER WOBBLY. SO WE CALLED TO MAKE AN APPT TO BRING IT IN AS SOON AS WE GOT BACK IN TO TOWN BUT IT WAS A 2 WEEK WAIT FOR AN APPT. THEY KEPT OUR CAR FOR THREE WEEKS AND AS SOON AS WE GOT IT BACK IT WAS THE SAME PROBLEM. SO WE ASKED TO MAKE ANOTHER APPT AND THIS TIME THEY KEPT OUR CAR FOR A WHOLE MONTH AND GOT IT BACK AND THE SAME PROBLEM. ANY LITTLE BUMP OR INDENT IN THE ROAD AND THE CAR IS WOBBLY ALL OVER SOUNDS LIKE THE BEARINGS. WE HAVE YET TO GET IT FIXED AND I SEEN THERE WAS A RECALL ON 2014 FORD EXPLORERS FOR THE REAR BEARINGS. I CALLED THE NUMBER FOR RECALLS AND THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T SEE ONE FOR THIS VIN BUT IT'S THE SAME PROBLEM FROM THE RECALL IN 2016 FOR THE SAME YEAR VEHICLES.
WHILE DRIVING THE TRACTION CONTROL TURNED OFF, WHICH CAUSED THE ELECTRONIC STEERING TO TURN OFF. THE CAR JERKED TO THE LEFT SIDE (ALMOST HITTING A BOX TRUCK). I HAD TO PULL THE STEERING WHEEL WITH ALL MY STRENGTH TO GET THE CAR TO STEER CORRECTLY. TOOK THE CAR TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE ELECTRONIC STEERING GEAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.

THE A-PILLAR EXTERIOR MOLDING FELL OFF. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME SUCH A PART FALLING OFF. THIS TIME IT WAS THE DRIVER SIDE. THE FIRST TIME WAS A YEAR AGO ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE A-PILLAR EXTERIOR MOLDING FELL OF ON THE FREEWAY AT HIGH SPEED. THE CAR WAS ESSENTIALLY A HIGH-SPEED ROAD HAZARD TO PUBLIC SAFETY, BECAUSE THE POINTED HARD PLASTIC MOLDING BECAME A PROJECTILE THAT CAN SERIOUSLY HURT SOME CAR OR PEOPLE BEHIND.
THE ELECTRONIC STEERING GEAR ABRUPTLY FAILED. PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. STEERING STOPPED AND RECEIVED LIGHT WARNING. ' STEERING LOSS STOP SAFELY' LOST ALL FUNCTION OF STEERING AND TRACTION. DEALERSHIP SAYS 2234.00 TO REPAIR. THIS WAS A RECALL ON THE 2013 VEHICLES AND OLDER. I COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN ON HIGHWAY THE DAY BEFORE WITH MY KIDS. IT WOULD HAVE CAUSED SEVERE ACCIDENT, TO LOSE STEERING AT 65 MPH.
12 APRIL 2018 ACCELERATING UP HILL AC ON. 80 DEGREES OUTSIDE . NO OTHER PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE WAS SHIFTING AROUND 5000 ROM, IN AUTOMATIC, NOT MANUAL. AGAIN I SMELLED A SULFURRY PROPANISH IDOR. IT LASTED ABOUT 2 MINUTES. I HAVE HAD ALL RECALLS / SERVICE BULLETINS PERFORMED BY MY DEALER. I HAVE INFORMED MY DEALER. HELP BEFORE FORD KILLS ME! THERE IS EXHAUST GETTING INTO THE PASSENGER CABIN!!!
THE SMELL OF EXHAUST WAS OVERWHELMING AND FINALLY A "FIX" WAS GENERATED. THE FIX IS WORSE THAN THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM. NOW THERE IS AN EXTREMELY STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE THAT FLOODS THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THIS OCCURS WHEN IN IDLE, WHEN DRIVING, WHEN OTHER CARS ARE AROUND OR IF I AM THE ONLY CAR IN THE LOT. OFTEN I NOTICE WHEN THE HEATING SYSTEM IS ON.
