THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD EXPLORER. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT A STOP LIGHT, THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND A RATTLING NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000.
SINCE THE DAY I PURCHASED MY SUV IT HAS HAS A ROTTEN EGG SMELL WHEN ACCELERATING AND WHEN IT IS UNDER ANY POWER. IT IS MAKING MY PASSENGERS SICK. I PURCHASED A 2017 FORD EXPLORER LIMITED SUV AT THE WINNIPEG,CANADA FORD 4S (MID-TOWN FORD SALES LIMITED ) IN JULY 2017. TIRE MODEL: 255/50R20 105H VENTUS S1 NOBLE 2. IT WAS FOUND THAT THE FOUR TIRES ABRASION MORE SERIOUS THAN OTHER VEHICLES UNDER NORMAL USE. IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE FOUR TIRES OF THE CAR HAD DIFFERENT PEELING SKIN PHENOMENA, AND THE TIRES HAD A SLOW LEAKING AIR PHENOMENON IN JULY 2019. AFTER THAT, I NEED TO REPLENISH THE AIR OF TIRES 2-3 DAYS REGULARLY IN ORDER TO KEEP THE TIRE PRESSURE. I CONTACTED THE MID-TOWN FORD SALES WHERE WE BOUGHT THE CAR AFTER DISCOVERING THIS PROBLEM, UNFORTUNATELY, THEY SAID THAT THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TIRE, AND LET ME CONTACT HANKOOK TIRE MANUFACTURERS TO FEEDBACK THE PROBLEM BY MYSELF. I HAVE TRIED TO CALL THE HANKOOK CUSTOMER SERVICE SEVERAL TIMES FROM JULY, BUT THERE IS NOBODY ANSWERS. I ASKED THE LOCAL HANKOOK DEALERS IN WINNIPEG, THEY TOLD ME THAT I CAN ONLY GET FEEDBACK WITH HANKOOK HEADQUARTERS. NOW I FEEL THAT THE SKIN PEELING OF TIRES ARE GETTING MORE AND MORE SERIOUS WHEN DRIVING EVERY DAY. I AM WORRIED THAT THE TIRE WOULD BE BURST EVERY TIME WHEN I AM DRIVING. I SEARCHED ON THE INTERNET THAT THE TIRE HAD BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS FOR A LONG TIME. NHTSA ID NUMBER: 10127409 SSM: 46905. I DON'T KNOW WHY I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD. WHEN I WENT TO FORD 4S(MID TOWN FOR SALES), THEY SAID THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY CLUE, THEY DID NOT ANYTHING ABOUT THIS ISSUE, AND ASK ME TO I CONTACT HANKOOK, BUT THEY DID NOT GIVE ME ANY CONTACT INFORMATION FOR THE HANKOOK. THERE IS NO CLEAR CUSTOMER SERVICE PHONE ON HANKOOK OFFICIAL WEBSITE. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED AND I DON'T KNOW HOW TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM.

AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT SUFFERED HEADACHES, DIZZINESS, NAUSEA, AND VISION PROBLEMS. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SPIRIT FORD (4402 ANN ARBOR ROAD DUNDE, MICHIGAN 48131, 734-529-5521) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT NO FAILURES WERE FOUND. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAS22318827. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000. *DT*JB
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AFTER PURCHASING IT, THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LOCK RATTLES. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THEM 4 TIMES BEFORE THEY SUPPOSEDLY REPLACED IT BUT IT STILL RATTLES. THEY DID NOT REPLACE IT.
I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH ALL THE DOOR LOCKS IN MY VEHICLE. WHEN TRYING TO LOCK THE DOOR USING THE KEY FOB NON OF THE DOORS WILL LOCK WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. IN ORDER TO LOCK AND UNLOCK THE DOORS YOU MUST DO SO MANUALLY BY PUSHING THE LOCK DOWN OR PULLING THE LOCK UP. YOU CANNOT USE THE KEY FOB OR THE LOCK/UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE DOOR. YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR BY USING THE HANDLE ON THE INTERIOR SIDE OF THE DOOR EITHER. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH ALL OF THE LOCKS. LET ME ADD THE MY CAR HAS BEEN BROKEN INTO WHILE ALL OF MY DOORS WILL NOT LOCK AS WELL.
WE HAVE BEEN SMELLING CARBON MONOXIDE IN THE CABIN DURING HEAVY ACCELERATION (MERGING ONTO HIGHWAY FOR EXAMPLE); IT IS ESPECIALLY WORSE WHEN THE AC OR HEAT IS ON. WE HAD IT "FIXED" SEVERAL MONTHS AGO WHEN FORD OFFERED A SOLUTION TO PLUG GAPS. THE PROBLEM PERSISTS AND HAS NOT IMPROVED. WE OFTEN HAVE OUR CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR SAFETY. WE'VE CONTACTED FORD AND THE LOCAL DEALER SEVERAL TIMES TO NO AVAIL.
WE NOTICED SEVERE PREMATURE TIRE WEAR ON THE FACTORY TIRES ON OUR 2017 FORD EXPLORER. THE SUV CAME WITH HANKOOK 255/50R20 105H VENTUS S1 NOBLE 2 TIRES WHICH STARTED SHOWING SIGNS OF PREMATURE WEAR WITHIN 15,000 MILES. NOW ONE IS COMPLETELY BALD AT 33,042 MILES AND THE OTHERS ARE PEELING/CRACKING. WE MADE SURE THE TIRES HAD SUFFICIENT AIR PRESSURE, AND ROTATED THEM AT EVERY OIL CHANGE, YET THEY STILL KEPT WEARING. THAT ONE TIRE HAS BEEN COMPLETELY BALD SINCE 30,000 MILES (ZERO TREAD AND WEAR INDICATOR BAND SHOWING). WE SAW THE NOTICE UNDER NHTSA ID: 10137109 (MANUFACTURER COMMUNICATION NUMBER: SSM 47195) AND MULTIPLE REPORTS OF BLOWOUTS. WE CALLED FORD ON 6-25-2019 AND FORD TOLD US THEY WOULD COVER 30% OF THE COST BUT WOULD REPLACE THEM WITH THE SAME KIND OF TIRE. WE CHOSE TO GET ANOTHER BRAND OUT OF AN ABUNDANCE OF CAUTION. THESE TIRES ARE GOING TO GET SOMEONE KILLED.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED A CUSTOMER COURTESY SERVICE LETTER TO HAVE THE VEHICLE EVALUATED AND REPAIRED FOR FUMES INSIDE THE CABIN AND A SOFTWARE PATCH IMPLEMENTED. THE REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED ON MAY 15, 2018, BUT THEY DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURES. VILLAGE FORD (11660 SE NORTH, US-441, BELLEVIEW, FL 34420) WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,158.
AT AROUND 35,800 MILES, I NOTICED A SLIGHT JERK OF THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN GOING AROUND CURVES. I WAS GOING 70MPH ON THE HIGHWAY FOR A QUICK AFTERNOON TRIP OUT OF TOWN. ON THE WAY HOME (36,000 MILES) IT WAS DOING THIS EVEN WHEN DRIVING STRAIGHT. I HAD MY HUSBAND DRIVE IT WHEN I GOT BACK, AND THAT'S WHEN WE DECIDED TO GET IT TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP (45 MILES AWAY). THE WHOLE RACK AND PINION STEERING COLUMN WAS SEVERELY CORRODED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I WAS WITHOUT MY VEHICLE FOR OVER A MONTH WHILE FORD GAVE US THE RUNAROUND ON WHETHER OR NOT IT WOULD BE COVERED SINCE WE WERE ALMOST 200 MILES OUT OF WARRANTY BY THE TIME THE VEHICLE WAS AT THEIR FACILITY. WHEN DRIVING IT THERE GOING ABOUT 40MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT ENTIRELY AND THREW THE CAR CLEAR ACROSS THE ROAD. THANKFULLY IT WENT TO THE RIGHT AND INTO THE DITCH, BECAUSE HAD IT JERKED TO THE LEFT, WE'D PROBABLY BE DEAD. IT JERKED ALL OVER THE ROAD THE WHOLE WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP.
GETTING BAD HEADACHES AND FEELING SLEEPY WHEN DRIVING MY FORD EXPLORER DON'T LIKE HAVING MY 7MONTH OLD IN THE CAR.
EQUIPPED WITH HANKOOK TIRES VENTUS S1 NOBLE 2 255/50R20 THAT HAVE EXCESSIVE EARLY TREAD WEAR AND SCALLOPING/FLAKING ALONG THE EDGES. CAR HAD LESS THAN 16,000 MILES WHEN WEAR NOTICED. HAD TIRES ROTATED AND ALIGNED AGAIN TO ENSURE NOT CAUSED BY THESE ISSUES. NOW WORN TO THE POINT OF UNSAFE. ONLY DRIVEN ON HIGHWAY AND CITY STREETS.
I WAS STUCK AT A STANDSTILL IN TRAFFIC ON A CITY HIGHWAY WITH MY FAMILY ON FATHER'S DAY WHEN THE DASH LIT UP WITH MULTIPLE WARNINGS SUCH AS "STEERING LOSS STOP SAFELY," "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC," "STABILITY CONTROL OFF," AND "HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE." I WAS NOT MOVING AND COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT HAPPENED. NO ONE WAS INJURED AND THE VEHICLE'S POWER STEERING FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT OVERHEATING. ROADSIDE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A NEARBY DEALER. EVENTUALLY, TWO DAYS LATER, THE COMPUTER SAID WE NEEDED A NEW STEERING COLUMN (I THOUGHT A STEERING COLUMN SHOULD LAST THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE...). THERE WERE NO WARNING SIGNS, NO LEAKS, AND NO STRANGE NOISES. OF COURSE, I WAS PAST MY WARRANTY. PRETTY HEFTY BILL. THERE IS AN NEW RECALL FOR A REAR SUSPENSION PROBLEM THAT WAS ISSUED JUST DAYS EARLIER.
DRIVING ONE DAY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND POWER STEERING LOCKED UP BRIEFLY INTERMITTENTLY, WITH THE ERROR MESSAGE. TURNED CAR OFF AND ON AGAIN AND WAS FINE, LATER ON IN THE DAY POWER STEERING LOCKED UP FOR GOOD AND THE ERROR MESSAGE IS ALWAYS THERE.
REAR SUSPENSION TOE LINK RECALL: DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MILES/HR WITH MY HUSBAND BEHIND THE WHEEL AND MYSELF AND OUR 3 CHILDREN IN THIS FAMILY VEHICLE, THIS REAR SUSPENSION BROKE. WE LIVE IN RURAL SALINE COUNTY AND DRIVE GRAVEL DAILY. THE INCIDENT HAPPENED WHILE ENTERING A BRIDGE ON A HIGHWAY. WE LOST ALMOST COMPLETE CONTROL OF STEERING REQUIRING THE DRIVER TO COMPLETELY TURN THE WHEEL AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE IN ONE DIRECTION AND TURN BACK AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE IN THE OTHER SWERVING AND FORCEFULLY CIRCLING BACK AND FORTH ON A BRIDGE UNTIL THE VEHICLE FINALLY CAME TO A STOP FURTHER DOWN THE ROAD. GOD' GRACE ALONE SAVED US FROM GOING OVER THE BRIDGE, OR HITTING ONCOMING TRAFFIC OR HAVING INJURIES, POTENTIALLY FATAL AT THIS RATE OF SPEED AND LOCATION. I AM DISSATISFIED IN THE NOTIFICATION OF RECALL INFORMATION FROM THE DEALER AND NHTSA. I ONLY FOUND OUT WHAT MUST HAVE HAPPENED AFTER GOOGLING 'FORD EXPLORER' AND SEEING A NEWS POST 2 DAYS EARLIER. THE NOTIFICATION OF THE RECALL WILL COME MUCH TOO LATE IN THE MAIL IN THE NEXT COUPLE WEEKS. TOO LATE! THERE HAS GOT TO BE A BETTER, FAST WAY OF NOTIFYING DRIVER SO THE RECALL PARTS MORE TIMELY. WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY. PUT YOUR FAMILY IN THIS SITUATION AND SAY THIS WAY OF NOTIFYING THE CONSUMER IS ADEQUATE!
I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE AT LANDERS FORD IN COLLIERVILLE, TN ON 6/11/2019 BECAUSE I HAD A SLOW LEAK IN ONE OF MY TIRES AND NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE. THE TECHNICIAN WHO COMPLETED THE SERVICES TOLD ME THAT I NEED NEW TIRES. I QUESTIONED THIS BECAUSE THE TIRES ONLY HAD 28,222 MILES ON THEM. I WAS TOLD THAT THE TIRES THAT FORD PLACED ON THIS VEHICLE BEFORE IT WAS SOLD TO ME (HANKOOK) WERE WEARING OUT BEFORE THEY NORMALLY WOULD. (MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT THE TIRES HAVE A 50,000 MILE WARRANTY ON THEM.) I ASKED WHAT WE COULD DO ABOUT GETTING THEM REPLACED AND WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE ADVISOR THAT I WOULD HAVE TO BUY NEW TIRES. I EXPLAINED THAT THIS WAS UNACCEPTABLE AND CALLED FORD MOTOR COMPANY. I SPOKE WITH SEVERAL REPRESENTATIVES AT FORD BECAUSE I KEPT GETTING HUNG UP ON DURING THE CONVERSATION. ONE OF THE REPRESENTATIVES TOLD ME THAT FORD WOULD PAY 30% OF THE COST OF NEW TIRES. WE EVENTUALLY WERE ABLE TO GET A CASE OPEN ON THE ISSUE (CASE #CAS-21837229). FORD CONTACTED THE DEALER TO WORK ON A SOLUTION. ON 6/26/19, I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE DEALERSHIP THAT THEY HAD CONTACTED THE TIRE MANUFACTURER AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY WOULD DO. THE SERVICE MANAGER INSTRUCTED ME TO CALL FORD BACK. I CALLED FORD, AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING FOR ME BUT THAT I SHOULD SAVE MY RECEIPT WHEN I GET NEW TIRES IN CASE A SERVICE ACTION/RECALL WAS ISSUED IN THE FUTURE.

THE CRUISE CONTROL AT MY SPEED OF 65 MPH STOPPED ALONE CAUSE THE CAR TO BREAK MAKING ME LOOSE CONTROL, 2ND THE VOICE COMMAND DON'T WORK OR RESPONDING, TO HELP NAVIGATION OR PHONE PERPOUSE ( DON'T USE CELL WHILE DRIVING) AROUND DECEMBER 2018 BRING TOTHE ATTENTION OF THE DEALER AT SERVICE AND THE MISS. KENYA AFTER I PICK THE CAR SHE MANSION THAT THE RESET TO THE MANUFACTURE DAY WAS RELASED , BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUE AS TODAY 10/07/2019 ON JUNE THE BATTERY EXPLODED, AND THANK GOD HOW NO BODY GET INJURY. THE CAR IS LEASING FOR 3 YEARS , ALL PROBLEM STARTS DECEMBER 2018 , PLUS THEARE IS A RECALL, AND FORD SAYVILLE IN 5686 SUNRISE HGWY , SAYVILLE, NY 11782 631 567-3800. REFUSE TO REPAIRE THE ISSUES, CLAIM THE CAR IS MILE COVERAGE IS OVER, BUT THE PROBLEM STRAT BEFORE PLUS ALL THIS IT'S MANUFATURE ISSUES, PLEASE HELP ME.
MAY 29TH 2019 I WENT INTO HEALEY FORD IN GOSHEN NY AFTER NEARLY 4 WEEKS OF HAVING HUGE PLUMES OF WHITE SMOKE POURING OUT OF MY EXHAUST PIPES EVERY TIME I PUSHED ON THE GAS OR STOPPED. IT DIDN'T MATTER IF I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY OR A CITY STREET THE ISSUE STILL OCCURED. THE SMELL WOULD PERMIATE THE ENTIRE INSIDE OF MY CAR. WE ALREADY HAD THE RECALL FIXED FOR THE EXHAUST SYSTEM CYCLING BACK INTO THE CAR SO THIS IS ALARMING. IT GOT PROGRESSIVELY WORSE AS THE WEEKS PASSED AND THE PLUMES BECAME THICKER AND VERY SMELLY. WHEN I EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM THEY TOOK IT INTO THE SHOP. ABOUT AN HOUR AFTER TAKING IT BACK INTO THE SHOP THE SERVICE MANAGER CAME BACK TO ME AND SAID THAT HE AND 2 OTHER TECHS PERSONALLY ENDED UP LOOKING AT IT AND AGREE THEY BELIEVE IT IS THE TURBO. I AM TAKING IT BACK IN TODAY JUNE 3, 2019 AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE TAKING APART THE ENTIRE EXHAUST SYSTEM AND ENGINE TO FIX IT. I AM CONCERNED BECAUSE THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM THAT POSTED JANUARY 23, 2017 COVERING ONLY 1163 2017 FORD EXPLORERS( NHTSA CAMPAIGN #16V925000). I CALLED FORD AND REPORT AND WHAT HAS BEEN OCCURING, WHAT WAS SAID, AND MY CONCERNS ON MAY 30, 3019. I EXPLAINED MY CONCERNS ABOUT THEM POSSIBLY MISSING SOME CARS AND PUTTING US AT RISK. THEY NOTATED IT, BUT WERE ADAMANT THAT MY EXPLORER IS NOT INVOLVED. TODAY, JUNE 3 2019, I WILL BE DROPPING MY EXPLORER OFF AT HEALEY AND THEY WILL HAVE IT FOR A FEW DAYS. I AM HOPING NHTSA WILL TAKE ANOTHER LOOK INTO THIS RECALL AND REALLY MAKE SURE ALL CARS THAT HAVE THE ISSUE ARE COVERED. I'M THE OWNER OF A 2017 FORD EXPLORER. AT THE TIME I WRITE THIS COMPLAINT MY SUV IS FOR THE FOURTH TIME AT THE DEALER SHIP, FOR THE SAME PROBLEM SINCE A BOUGHT IT IN SEPTEMBER 2017: EXHAUST FUMES ENTERING THE CABIN. 3 WEEKS ALREADY SINCE I DROPPED IT AT PLANET FORD. ON 05/24/2019 I WENT BECAUSE I'VE BEEN HAVING HEADACHES, DIZZINESS AND IRRITATED EYES WHILE BEHIND THE WHEEL OF MY SUV. I HAD A CRACKED WINDSHIELD THAT ALSO NEEDED TO BE REPAIR. I WENT LAST FRIDAY, 06/07/2019, TO ASK ABOUT MY CAR AND NO ONE KNEW EXACTLY WHAT WAS GOING ON AND THE WINDSHIELD WASN'T CHANGED AT ALL. PLEASE LET ME INFORM THAT I HAVE PAID THE MOST EXPENSIVE WARRANTY THAT FORD HAS. LAST TIME MY CAR WAS AT THE DEALER THEY REPLACED THE COMPLETE EXHAUST SYSTEM. THIS IS ONLY LIKE APPLYING A BAND-AID, IT ONLY LASTS UNTIL IT FALLS DOWN. MY COMMUTE IS 60 MILES EVERY DAY. I DRIVE TOLL WAYS WITH SPEED LIMITS OF 75 M/PH. MY SUV SMELLS LIKE SULFUR OR EXHAUST ODOR IN THE VEHICLE CABIN. THE ODOR IS PRESENT REGARDLESS OF VENTILATION MODE (RE-CIRCULATION OR FRESH-AIR). THIS CONDITION MAY BE WORSENED WHEN THE VEHICLE IS HEAVILY ACCELERATED TO PASS TRAFFIC OR CARS OR FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF ACCELERATION, WHICH IS LOGICAL IF A DRIVE MORE THAN 54 MILES OF MY COMMUTE ON HIGHWAYS. IN THE FORD EXPLORER OWNER'S MANUAL YOU CAN READ: 'DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE IF YOU SMELL EXHAUST FUMES. CARBON MONOXIDE IS PRESENT IN EXHAUST FUMES. TAKE PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID ITS DANGEROUS EFFECTS.' THE SUV HAD BEEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT RESOLUTION. THIS SUV IT IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME, THAT I DRIVE IT MORE THAN 300 MILES PER WEEK AND MY CHILDREN THAT ACCOMPANY ME AT THE BACK SEAT WERE THE 'SMELL' IS EVEN WORSE. COMPLAINTS FOR FUMES IN THE CABIN: 1 I WAS TOLD THAT I SHOULD USE THE A/C ON RE-CIRCULATION. NOTHING WAS WRONG 2 CHANGED A VALVE 3.CHANGED THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. 4. 3 WEEKS IN THE DEALER 05/24/2019.
EXCESSIVE WIND NOISE FROM THE FRONT CABIN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. TERRIBLE ON WINDY DAYS AS IT GETS WORSE. BEST GUESS WOULD BE POOR DOOR SEAL AROUND THE LATCH AREA. DOOR RUBBER WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED BUT NO FIX. VERY NOISY IN CABIN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, AND ON BOTH DOORS THE GREASE AROUND THE CONTROL ARM FOR THE DOOR HAS COME AWAY AND BECOME SQUEAKY TWICE. SOMETHING DOESN'T SEEM TO BE ALIGNED PROPERLY.
DRIVING ON INTERSTATE, TEMPERATURE AROUND 54 DEGREES, LIGHT RAIN, NO TRAFFIC, HEARD A LOUD "POP" NOISE. BROKEN GLASS FROM THE SUNROOF SLID OFF THE ROOF ON TO THE ROAD. FOUND A LARGE HOLE IN THE CENTER OF THE SUNROOF WINDOW. INSURANCE ADJUSTER FOUND NO POINT OF IMPACT AND DECLARED IT AN INTERNAL STRESS FRACTURE/PART FAILURE/MANUFACTURER DEFECT. IT WAS NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE. MILEAGE WAS AT 19,000.

RISK TO SAFETY: A FRACTURE OF A REAR TOE LINK SIGNIFICANTLY DIMINISHES STEERING CONTROL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH! I HAVE CONTACTED 3 DIFFERENT DEALS IN MY AREA (ECINO, CA, 91316) ALL SAID THAT THE REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE. IN ADDITION, ON THURSDAY, JUNE 27TH, 2019 I HAVE CONTACTED FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO SEE IF THE ISSUE CAN BE RESOLVED BUT I GOT THE SAME ANSWER. THEY SAID I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE AND THEY ARE CURRENTLY BACK ORDERED WITH NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR THE ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE CAN BE RESOLVED. THEY HAVE ASKED ME IF I WOULD LIKE FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO "LEMON" THE VEHICLE AND BUY IT BACK, I REPLIED: "ABSOLUTELY YES". THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CROSSROADS FORD OF PRINCE GEORGE (877-331-9405, LOCATED AT 4500 WHITEHILL BLVD, PRINCE GEORGE, VA 23875) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS OFFERED A DISCOUNT OF $1,082 TOWARDS THE REPAIR COST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000.
THE CAR LURCHES FOR THE FIRST 40-50 FEET AT SLOW SPEEDS WHILE APPLYING MINIMAL PRESSURE ON THE GAS PEDAL. IT HAPPENS THE INITIAL TIME PUTTING IT IN DRIVE AFTER EACH ENGINE START, REGARDLESS OF PUTTING IT IN REVERSE FIRST OR NOT. IT USED TO ONLY HAPPEN AFTER EVERY FEW STARTS, BUT HAS PROGRESSED TO EVERY SINGLE TIME NOW AND SOME CAN BE VERY AGGRESSIVE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS ATTEMPTED TO FIX THE ISSUE 5 TIMES NOW, WITH THE 5TH TIME RESULTING IN THEM SAYING IT IS A "NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC" OF THE VEHICLE, WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO EXPLAIN WHAT IS CAUSING IT. I WAS TOLD BY THE LOCAL SERVICE MANAGER THAT HE "DOESN'T KNOW WHY IT IS DOING IT, BUT IT'S NORMAL." HE THEN PROCEEDED TO COMPARE THE CHARACTERISTIC TO SOMEONE POORLY RELEASING THE CLUTCH ON A MANUAL VEHICLE AND AGAIN, STILL CLAIMING THAT EVERYTHING IS PERFECTLY NORMAL.
ON APRIL 19, 2019 I BROUGHT MY CAR TO FORD IN TORRANCE CALIFORNIA. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I BROUGHT MY CAR TO THEM. I'M LEASING A 2017 FORD EXPLORE WITH HANCOCK TIRES. THESE HANCOCK TIRES ARE STANDARD ON ALL THE FORD EXPLORES. AT MILE 3000 I RECEIVED A SIDEWALL BLOWOUT ON MY PASSENGER REAR TIRE. AND WHILE 20,000 I NOTICED THE TREADING ON THE TIRES WERE VERY LOW, AND AT 25,000 THE RADIOS BEGAN TO SHOW. THIS IS WHEN I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO THE FORD DEALER. THE TECHNICIANS STATED THAT THIS TIRE WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ALL FOUR HAD A TREADING THAT WAS EXTREMELY LOW. THE PROBLEM IS FORD IS CHARGING THE CONSUMER THE COST OF LABOR THE COST OF TAXES AND 70% THE COST OF THE TIRE. I BELIEVE WHEN THERE'S A DEFECTIVE TIRE OR ANY COMPONENT IN THE CAR THE SALES VENDOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING THE DEFECTIVE PART. FURTHERMORE I BELIEVE THE SALES VENDOR FORD SHOULD MITIGATE THE PROBLEM WITH THESE TIRES TO PROTECT THE CONSUMERS THEY ARE SELLING TO. THIS IS NOT WHAT HAPPENED IN THIS CASE AND MANY OTHER CASES. THE REASON I FOUND OUT MY TIRE TRADE-IN WAS LOW , WAS I PROCEEDED TO STOP MY CAR AT A STOP SIGN WHERE THERE WAS WATER OVERFLOWING AND I HYDROPLANED THROUGH THE INTERSECTION WITH MY YOUNG KIDS IN THE BACKSEAT. THESE TIRES ARE GOING TO KILL PEOPLE IF THEY ARE NOT RECALLED AND TAKE IT OFF ALL HER CARS. I AM A DOCTOR, AND I SEE PATIENTS WHO ARE INJURED IN ACCIDENTS ALL THE TIME BUT USUALLY TWO PERSONAL AIR. AFTER REVIEWING ALL OF THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS AND DEFECTS FROM THIS TIRE ONLINE I BELIEVE IT'S NEGLIGENCE BY THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND HANCOCK TIRES IF THIS MATTER IS NOT RESOLVED.
BEFORE LEAVING FOR FLORIDA I HAD MY 2017 EXPLORER SERVICED AT THE DEALERSHIP. THERE WAS APPROX 16,000 MILES AND TIRES WERE CHECKED TO BE FINE. THESE TIRES ARE HANKOOK VENTUS S1 NOBLE TIRES. FIVE AND A HALF MONTHS LATER 18,000 MILES, TREAD IS WORN AND THEY ARE CHIPPING AND PEALING AND I HAD A BLOWOUT ON THE HIGHWAY.
THE SECOND ROW SEATBELT AIRBAGS CONTINUE TO SET OFF THE AIRBAG SENSOR ON THE CONTROL PANEL AND FORD TECHNICIANS CAN FIND NOTHING TO CORRECT. SENSOR SET OFF WHILE DRIVING AND PASSENGER BELTED INTO DRIVER SIDE SECOND ROW SEAT BELT THAT CONTAINS A SEATBELT AIRBAG.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. VETERANS FORD (7201 LINEBAUGH AVE, TAMPA, FL) WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE DOT NUMBER AND VIN WERE UNKNOWN. THE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,000.
TRANSMITION FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS ON A HIGHWAY AND LOST ACCELERATION AND POWER TO DRIVE CREATING AN UNSAFE CONDITION.
WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH MY STEERING WHEEL SEIZED COMPLETELY, A BELL STARTED RINGING, AND AN INDICATOR LIGHT ON MY DASHBOARD STARTED FLASHING THAT STEERING FAILED. PLEASE PARK SAFELY. THERE WAS NO WARNING AND MY CAR HAD BEEN WORKING PERFECTLY BEFORE THIS HAPPENED. THIS CAUSED SERIOUS THREAT OF COLLISION AND GRAVE BODILY DAMAGE/DEATH.
CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING. UPON DRIVING THE VEHICLE TO WORK, I NOTICED I WAS VERY TIRED AND WAS FIGHTING TO KEEP MY EYES OPEN. I DOZED OFF MULTIPLE TIMES AND ALMOST HIT SOMEONE HEAD ON. I INSTALLED A CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR IN MY VEHICLE AFTER HEARING ABOUT THE "POTENTIAL" ISSUE, AS THE DEALERSHIP CALLED IT. THE DETECTOR REGISTERED 12-16 PPM'S MOST DAYS. I'M HORRIFIED TO THINK ABOUT THE EXPOSURE I'VE HAD FOR THE LAST 2.5 YEARS. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO FORD TO CORRECT THE "POTENTIAL" ISSUE. A FEW DAYS AFTER PICKING IT UP, THE DETECTOR WENT OFF AGAIN, REGISTERING 10 PPM'S. I WAS ON A 2.5 HOUR TRIP HOME AND HAD TO ROLL THE WINDOWS DOWN 6 TIMES BECAUSE THE DETECTOR KEPT GOING OFF.
SINCE A WEEK AGO I AM FEELING A STRONG SMELL IN THE VEHICLE ONCE I TURN IT ON AND WHEN I TURN ON THE AIR CONDITION IT INCREASES ALOT. I HAVE GOTTEN STRONG HEADACHES BECAUSE OF THIS ODOR AND MY PREOCUPATION IS THAT I AM WITH MY CHILDREN MOST OF THE TIME. I CALLED FOR A CHECK UP AND THEY GAVE ME AN APPOINTMENT. BELT IS ORIGINAL WITH 23,500 MILES AND 3 YEARS OLD. BELT AREA COVERED UNDERNEATH FROM ROAD DEBRIS. DRY OUT, NO COLLISION WITH ROAD DEBRIS
SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH THIS EXPLORER. THERE WAS A NOISE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHEN THE A/C IS RUNNING AND GIBBONS FORD TRIED TO FIX IT SEVERAL TIMES. THEY TIGHTENED A HEAT SHIELD TWICE. REPLACED THE IDLER AND BELT 3 TIMES AND FINALLY CHANGED THE A/C COMPRESSOR. ALSO THE HOOD BUBBLED AND THEY REPLACED THE HOOD AND REPAINTED IT. THERE ALSO WAS A TRANSMISSION LEAK AND THE ALTERNATOR HAD TO BE REPLACED. THEY ENDED UP BUYING THE VEHICLE BACK DUE TO THE ONGOING UNRESOLVED ISSUES.

WENT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE MENAGER WAS NO HELP. WANTEDME TO PAY FOR NEW TIRES. ABSOULTELY RIDICULOUS AND HE WAS RUDE. I HAVE BEEN REVIEWING MANY CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME ISSUE.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.
