VEHICLE VIBRATED WHILE DRIVING 57 MPH. CONSUMER PULLED THE VEHICLE INTO A SERVICE STATION AND NOTICED THAT TREAD SEPARATED FROM THE SIDEWALL ON PASSENGER'S REAR TIRE. FORD, F150. FIRE ORIGINATED IN LR QUADRANT OF ENGINE COMPARTMENT. OCCURRED WHILE PARKED AND NOT RUNNING. ORIGIN IS AT MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER. *AK
I WAS TOWING MY TRAILER AND HAD JUST LEFT MY HOUSE AND GOT A MILE DOWN THE ROAD WHEN I HEARD A LOUD POP LIKE A TIRE BLOWING AND I QUICKLY TRIED TO FIND A PLACE TO PULL OVER. I LATER FOUND OUT I HAD A BLOWN PLUG AND OF COURSE IT WIPED THE THREADS AND SHOT UP AND DESTROYED MY COIL ON TOP SO I HAD A HELIXCOIL PUT IN AND A NEW COIL . MY TRUCK IS A 99 5.4 WITH 67,305 MILES ON IT WITH THE ORIGINAL FACTORY PLUGS . *JB
CRACK IS PRESENT IN THE DOOR SHEET METAL AT THE LOWER REAR OF THE WINDOW OPENING NEAR THE BELT MOLDING.*AK
DT: THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT COMPLAINED ABOUT ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS SINCE THE CRUISE CONTROL STOPPED WORKING IN AUGUST 2004. WITHIN A MONTH OF THE CRUISE CONTROL MALFUNCTIONING THE ABS SENSOR ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD, AND THE HEATER STOPPED WORKING. APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH AGO THE POWER DOOR LOCKS STOPPED WORKING. WHEN IT WAS HOT OUTSIDE, THE CONTACT TURNED OFF THE LIGHTS IN THE VEHICLE HE HAD TO REMOVE THE FUSE. THE CONTACT STATED THERE WAS A TICKING NOISE COMING FROM INSIDE THE FUSE BOX. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY TOLD HIM TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AT HIS EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER EXPLAINED TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE CONSUMER FELT THAT THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS LISTED ABOVE WERE CAUSED BY THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH. *AK THE CONSUMER HAS SINCE STATED THE POWER MIRRORS NO LONGER WORK. *JB
WHEN USING "LEFT" DIRECTIONAL SIGNAL, YOU HAVE TO FUSS WITH IT WHILE DRIVING TO MAKE IT STAY IN PLACE, THIS HAS HAPPENED BOTH ON THE BRAND NEW 1999 FORD RANGER I BOUGHT AND ALSO THE 1999 FORD F-150 THAT I PRESENTLY OWN AND DRIVE. *LA
SPEEDOMETER WAS DEFECTIVE. CONSUMER HAD TO GUESS HOW FAST HE WAS TRAVELING. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP, BUT NO CHANGES WERE PERFORMED. *AK
I DRIVE A 1999 FORD F-150 PICKUP TRUCK AND HAVE FOUND THAT FAILURE OF EITHER OF THE FRONT WHEEL ABS SENSORS MAKES IT NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. THE RIGHT SENSOR FAILED IN APRIL .... AND I CRASHED INTO A WALL AT OUR LOCAL HOSPITALS PARKING GARAGE ..FORTUNATELY I WAS ONLY GOING 15 MPH. ($300 DAMAGE TO THE FRONT BUMBER - AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY) NOW THE LEFT SENSOR HAS FAILED. SAME SAFETY ISSUE ... THE VEHICLE'S BRAKE PEDAL GETS VERY HARD AND YOU CAN NOT GET STOPPED. MY TRUCK IS NOT USED FOR DIRTY COMMERCIAL WORK, IT IS A FAMILY USE PICKUP. I PERSONALLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY FORD WOULD PUT A VEHICLE ON THE ROAD THAT COULD EASILY CAUSE BRAKE-LOSS RELATED CRASHES. THE SERVICE REP AT OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP SAID THIS MORNING, " I ALWAYS THOUGHT WHEN THE ABS SENSOR FAILED, YOU JUST HAD REGULAR BRAKES." HE KNOWS NOW THIS IS NOT TRUE. THIS SAME CHASSIS AND BRAKE DESIGN IS PROBABLY USED ON CERTAIN FORD SUV'S, FURTHER EXTENDING THE PROBLEM. *AK
REAR SLIDER WINDOW DEVELOPS CRACKS IN PLASTIC FRAME, CAUSING THE WINDOW TO LEAK INTO THE CAB. DEALER AND MANUFACTURE REFUSE TO COMPENSATE FOR REPLACEMENT. *NM

THE DRIVER'S SIDE TIE ROD BROKE WHILE BACKING OUT OF HIS DRIVEWAY. *MR *NM
WHILE DRIVING DOWN HILL CRUISE CONTROL CUTS OFF. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES. *AK THE CRUISE CONTROL MALFUNCTIONED INTERMITTENTLY. IN 2004 DROVE TO BISHOP CA AREA AND TRUCK MALFUNCTIONED. WHILE TRAVELING DOWN HILL CRUISE CONTROL MALFUNCTIONED. *BF
WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH VEHICLE VIBRATED UNCONTROLLABLY. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND PULLED OVER. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE TIE RODS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK THE FAILURE OF THE TIRE ROD END CAUSED LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL. THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT WHEEL TURNED ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO GO IN THAT DIRECTION. THE CONSUMER INDICATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER USES ROD ENDS WITH NO GREASE FITTINGS. *NM
RIGHT TIE-ROD FAILURE 1999 FORD F-150 PICKUP. *NM
WHILE MOVING THE VEHICLE FROM THE DRIVEWAY CONSUMER HEARD A NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT END. THE CONSUMER EXITED, LOOKED UNDER THE TRUCK AND SAW THAT THE LEFT FRONT TIE ROAD FELL OFF TO THE GROUND. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. *AK *NM
DESPITE DRIVING ON PRIMARILY RURAL PAVED ROADS, BRAKE PROBLEMS (GRABBING) OCCURRED FROM THE TIME OF PURCHASE. BRAKE PROBLEMS WERE NOTED TO THE DEALER AT 34,000 MILES AND 39,000 MILES, AND THE DEALER RESPONDED BY SAYING THE BRAKES WERE EITHER DIRTY OR THAT THE PROBLEM WAS THE FACT THAT IT'S A "LIGHT" TRUCK. NEAR-ACCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED ON AT LEAST TWO OCCASIONS WHEN ONLY 1 BRAKE ENGAGED. AT 50,000 MILES, THE WHOLE BRAKE SYSTEM HAS HAD TO BE REPLACED. *JB
WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH CONSUMER'S VEHICLE COLLIDED WITH A DEER. UPON IMPACT, BOTH FRONTAL AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO A BODY SHOP. *AK
1999 FORD F-150 BLOWN SPARK PLUG. I REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS ON MY F-150 APPROXIMATELY THREE MONTHS AGO. I REPLACED THE ORIGINAL PLUGS WITH AUTOLITE DOUBLE PLATINUM PLUGS. YESTERDAY (JUNE 13, 2004) WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP LIGHT, I HEARD A LOUD BANG FROM UNDER THE HOOD. LUCKILY I WAS ONLY ABOUT A MILE AWAY FROM HOME. ONCE THERE, I RAISED THE HOOD AND FOUND THAT THE NUMBER TWO SPARK PLUG HAD BEEN BLOWN OUT OF THE CYLINDER HEAD. IT DESTROYED THE COIL PACK AS WELL. IT APPEARS THAT WHEN THE PLUG BLEW, IT SHOT UP INTO THE COIL PACK THEREBY DESTROYING THE COIL. SINCE THE IGNITION WIRE IS PART OF THE COIL PACK, IT FURTHER APPEARS THAT THE COMPRESSION OF THE RUBBER INSULATOR ACTED LIKE A SPRING AND PUSHED THE PLUG BACK INTO THE ORIFACE WITH ENOUGH FORCE TO BREAK THE WHITE INSULATOR AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PLUG AND AND SLAM THE TIP INTO THE ELECTRODE. I WAS ABLE TO REMOVE THE PLUG WITHOUT INCIDENT. I DID NOT FIND ANY REMNANTS OF ALUMINUM IN THE SPARK PLUG THREADS. SINCE THE PLUGS WERE CHANGED ONLY A FEW MONTHS AGO, I STILL HAD THE OLD PLUGS. THE DAMAGED PLUG WAS REPLACED WITH ONE OF THE OLD PLUGS. THE THREADS FELT AS THOUGH THEY WERE STILL INTACT, AND I WAS ABLE TO GET THE REPLACEMENT PLUG BACK IN WITHOUT ANY MODIFICATIONS. IT WAS TIGHTENED DOWN, JUST SNUG, NOT TIGHT. THE COIL PACK ON THAT CYLINDER HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE COST FROM AUTOZONE WAS APPROXIMATELY $45.00. I WILL CONTINUE TO WATCH AND LISTEN FOR ANY TELL-TALE SIGNS OF THE PLUGS BACKING OUT AS DESCRIBED ON THE F-150 WEB PAGE. I DO RECALL A "TICKING" NOISE ABOUT 2-3 DAYS PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT.*AK
REPLACED EXAHUST MANAFOLD, MY REPAIRMAN SAID MANY FORD OWNERS HAD SAME PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, TIE ROD FAILED. THE CONSUMER MANAGED TO PULLED OVER AND HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT TIE ROD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO WORN OUT PARTS. *AK THE TIE ROD FAILURE WAS SUDDEN AND WITHOUT WARNING. THERE WERE NO WARNING SIGNS SUCH AS THE FRONT SHIMMY OR ANY OTHER CONTROL PROBLEMS PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE DEALER FOUND THE REMAINING THREE ENDS TO BE BAD AND ADVISED THE CONSUMER TO REPLACE THEM AS WELL. *SC *JB
MY F150 P.U. HAS A STRESS CRACK IN THE CURVE OF THE DOOR BY THE WINDOW. THE LATCH IS NOT TIGHT ENOUGH, SO THE DOOR IS HARD TO SHUT. MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURN ON BY THEMSELVES, THE ODOMETER LIGHT GOES ON & OFF, THE SEAT BELTS DO NOT RECOIL & THE "DOOR AJAR" LIGHT GETS STUCK, EVENTHOUGH ALL DOORS ARE RESHUT. ENGINE SOMETIMES RUNS ROUGH EVENTHOUGH HAS JUST HAD 60,000 MILE CHECK. THE FORD DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE ME FOR NEW PART TO FIX ODOMETER LIGHT $300+PLUS LABOR, $58 FOR DOOR PART+LABOR. HAVEN'T TALKED TO THEM ABOUT "ROUGH RUNNING", I'M SURE THEY'LL WANT MORE $$ TO FIX IT TOO.*AK
EXTERIOR - DOOR - DRIVER AND PASSENGER - CRACKS ALONG THE CURVE ON BODY ALONG THE BOTTOM BACK CURVE OF THE WINDOW MOLDING. *LA
DIGITAL ODOMETER LIGHT TURNS ON & OFF. DOOR AJAR LIGHT, DOME LIGHT, AND AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS GO ON & OFF ALSO. ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS MAY BE THE "GEM MODULE." SEAT BELTS DO NOT RETRACT GETTING CUT/DAMAGED FROM DOOR LATCH WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED, THEY HAVE BEEN REPLACED ONCE ALREADY. FORD ENGINEERS WERE NOTIFIED NEARLY SIX MONTHS AGO BUT NO REPLY. *LA
DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR FRAME DEVELOPED A CRACK. AS A RESULT, THE DOOR RUSTED AND LEAKED WATER.*AK
WHILE I WAS DRIVING 30 MILES PER HOUR, MY BACK PASSENGER SIDE SPARK PLUG SHOT OUT OF MY HEAD, I HAVE A WARRANTY BUT THE DEALERSHIP IS NOT SURE IF THEY WILL COVER THIS INCIDENT. I HAVE NOTICED ALL OVER THE INTERNET THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM, WHAT IS WRONG WITH FORD, HOW CAN THEY MAKE SOMETHING DEFECTIVE THAT IS SO COSTLY TO THEIR CUSTOMERS AND NOT RECALL THE ITEM? THE DEALERSHIP IS QUOTING ME $3800.00 TO PUT A NEW HEAD ON THE 1999 FORD F150 WHICH I THOUGHT WAS A DEPENDABLE VEHICLE. I HAVE DRIVEN FORDS ALL OF MY LIFE AND I DOUBT I WILL EVER BUY ANOTHER ONE, NOT TO GET THIS KIND OF TREATMENT.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH, SUDDENLY THERE WAS A POPPING NOISE, THEN THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE SPARK PLUG HAD CAME OUT THE ENGINE CYLINDER HEAD. THIS OCCURRED BECAUSE OF A DESIGN FLAW, THERE WAS INSUFFICIENT TREAD TO HOLD THE SPARK PLUGS. THE CYLINDER HEAD WAS REPLACED. *JB
I WAS DRIVING MY FORD F-150 (AFTER A PREVIOUS FIX OF THE SAME PROBLEM I WAS ABOUT TO EXPERIENCE), WHEN MY #3 SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT OF THE HEAD UNIT. 2ND TIME HAPPENED, COST $2500 TO FIX. NOW I WANT REIMBURSEMENT FOR ALL REPAIR WORK DUE TO FLAWED ENGINE DESIGN.*AK
THE CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE FOR SERVICE BECAUSE OF A TICKING NOISE HEARD ON VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT THE TICKING NOISE WAS COMING FROM THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, AND THE HEAD GASKET HAD BLOWN. WHICH RESULTED IN AN OIL LEAK INTO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND THE HEAD GASKET; HOWEVER, THE TICKING NOISE STILL EXIST AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. WITHIN 300 MILES AFTER THE PARTS WERE REPLACED, THE SPARK PLUG CAME OUT OF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ENGINE HEAD WHICH RESULTED IN ENGINE FAILURE. THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO HONOR REPAIR WARRANTY AND PERFORM ANY FURTHER SERVICE ON THE VEHICLE. *LA
WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN ANOTHER VEHICLE GOING IN THE WRONG LANE HIT CONSUMER'S VEHICLE HEAD ON. UPON IMPACT, BOTH AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE BODY SHOP. *AK
DISCOVERED A CRACK IN DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR NEXT TO WINDOW.*AK
OIL LEAK. I HAVE A 1999 FORD F-150 WITH A 5.4 MOTOR THAT LEAKS OIL FROM THE RIGTH HEAD, THIS PROBLEM WAS FIXED 03/29/00 AT 9900 MILES.IT 42000 MILES IT STARTED LEAKING AGAIN THE DEALER CHECKED IT OUT AND SAID IT WAS THE SAME HEAD GASKET AS BEFORE BUT BECAUSE IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. FORD SAID THEY WONT. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT FORD HAD CHANGED TO A DIFFERTENT TYPE OF HEAD GASKET BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM BUT IT WAS UP TO FORD TO PAY OR NOT TO PAY FOR REPAIRS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING, THE HEAD GASKET WOULD LEAK OIL. THE MECHANIC REPAIRED THE PROBLEM ONCE, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION. *JB
WHILE DRIVING , SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING. THE REPAIR SHOP PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC AND INDICATED THAT IT COULD BE THE SPARK PLUGS. THE SPARK PLUGS WERE REPLACED, BUT DIDN'T CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE BUTTERFLY TO THE FUEL INJECTION ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE ENGINE MOTOR FROZE AND STOPPED THE FLOW OF THE FUEL, WHICH CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE FUEL INJECTION THUS DAMAGING THE TIMING BELT, AND PISTON. THE ENTIRE ENGINE MOTOR FELL APART FROM THE INSIDE OUT PER THE MECHANIC. *JB
1999 FORD EXPEDITION FIRST BLEW OUT A SPARK PLUG IN 2003 DUE TO TOO FEW THREADS IN CYLINDER HEAD. MECHANIC WAS ABLE TO REPAIR FOR AROUND $500. THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN ON ANOTHER SPARK PLUG IN 2004 WHICH DESTROYED THE WHOLE ENGINE. I CONTACTED FORD AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD DO NOTHING ABOUT IT. THE REFURBISHED JASPER ENGINE ENDED UP BEING AROUND $5400. THE OLD ENGINE WAS TURNED IN TO AVOID A CORE CHARGE. I HAVE ALL OF THE PAPERWORK FROM THE MECHANIC STATING THE PROBLEM. *NM
THE TIRE P25570S16 GN GRABAWO BY GENERAL. SIDE WALL BUBBLES AND BLOWS OUT IF ITS ON THE REAR OF A PICK UP OKAY ON FRONT OF TRUCK, BUT MANY PEOPLE I WORK WITH IN THE BUSINESS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS TIRE. PLEASE INVESTIGATE. THANKS. *AK
1999 FORD F150 - DRIVER SIDE TIE ROD END FAILED - VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 50,000 MILES AT THE TIME - I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER, NOTHING EVER HAPPENED TO VEHICLE THAT SHOULD HAVE PROVOKED SUCH A FAILURE - TIE ROD END SNAPPED OFF SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT WARNING WHILE I WAS TURNING A CORNER AT RELATIVELY LOW SPEED - BECAUSE OF LOW SPEED, I WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN VEHICLE CONTROL AND GET VEHICLE OFF ROAD - ENTIRE FRONT SUSPENSION WAS INSPECTED ONLY 5,000 MILES EARLIER WHEN I HAD TIRES REPLACED, NOTHING WAS LOOSE OR SHOWED UNUSUAL WEAR AT THAT TIME. AT THE TIME, I WAS NOT AWARE THAT THIS WAS SUCH A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES AND THOUGHT MY OCCURRENCE MAY HAVE JUST BEEN A FLUKE. AFTER I GOT THE LETTER FROM FORD, I REALIZED THAT THIS MUST BE MORE COMMON THAN I THOUGHT. I DON'T BELIEVE THAT THE INSPECTION RECOMMENDED BY FORD IS ADEQUATE SINCE IT DIDN'T STOP MY OCCURRENCE FROM HAPPENING. I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT BECAUSE I BELIEVE THAT FORD SHOULD BE MADE MORE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS AND I WAS OFFENDED BY THE LETTER THAT BASICALLY TOLD ME THEY HAD A PROBLEM BUT THEY DIDN'T FEEL THE NEED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.*AK
ON THE DAY LISTED BELOW MY 1999 FORD F150 WITH A TRITON 5.4L V8 ENGINE EJECTED A SPARK PLUG FROM THE CYLINDER HEAD. UPON INSPECTION BY A MECHANIC IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE THREADS IN THE CYLINDER HEAD FAILED. THE COMPRESSION IN THE CYLINDER THEN EJECTED THE SPARK PLUG. AFTER THE SPARK PLUG WAS EJECTED AND BEFORE I COULD GET STOPPED THERE WAS A STRONG SMELL OF GAS IN THE CAB OF THE TRUCK. WHICH I ASSUME WAS CAUSED BY THE OPEN CYLINDER AND FUEL BEING EXPRESSED THROUGH THE SPARK PLUG OPENING. *AK
HAVE A 1999 FORD F-150 WITH A 5.4 LITER ENGINE. #3 SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT AND HAD TO HAVE A COSTLY REPAIR DONE BY THE MECHANIC PULLING THE HEAD AND PLACING AN INSERT INTO THE HOLE. KILLED 2 BIRDS WITH 1 STONE BECAUSE THE PASSENGER SIDE HEAD WAS LEAKING OIL. THIS SAME SPARK PLUG HAD BLOWN OUT TWO PREVIOUS TIMES. FINALLY DECIDED THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. HAVE DRIVEN FORDS ALL OF MY LIFE. NOT SURE WILL PURCHASE AGAIN.*AK

1999 FORD F150 BLOWN HEAD GASKET RIGHT SIDE CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY 4700.00 DOLLARS TO REPLACE GASKET & HEAD. FORD KNOWS THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE GASGETS ON THE TRITON MOTROS BUT FAIL TO TAKE BLAME. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH RIGHT TIE ROD FAILED, CAUSING THE DRIVER TO DRIFT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT RIGHT UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS HAD FAILED, AND THEY WILL BE REPLACED. *AK FAILURE OCCURED HAPPENED 2 MORE TIMES. *LA
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HAS A SMALL STRESS CRACK IN THE SHEET METAL BY THE LOWER REAR WEATHER STRIPING ON THE WINDOW, CALLED MY DEALER AND FORD THEY COULDN'T HELP ME. *JB
I NEVER ABUSED MY 99 FORD LIGHTNING IN ANY WAY AND @ 21000 MILES IT BLEW #3 SPARK PLUG OUT OF THE HEAD. FORD FINALLY AGREED THAT IF I WOULD PAY $817.00 FOR THE DEDUCTIBLE THEY WOULD PAY THE REST. I DON'T THINK I SHOULD HAVE HAD TO PAY ANYTHING SINCE THE HEAD WAS DEFECTIVE FROM THE FACTORY. *JB
WHILE SHIFTING INTO DRIVE THE SHIFT LINKAGE BRACKET SCREW FAILED. THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE SHIFTED BACK TO PARK. *NM
WHILE SHIFTING FROM PARK TO DRIVE A BOLT FELL OUT OF THE INTERNAL AREA OF THE STEERING COLUMN. I PUT THE TRUCK BACK IN WHAT APPEARED TO BE PARK AND GOT OUT TO RETRIEVE THE BOLT FROM THE FLOOR OF THE TRUCK, WHEN THE TRUCK MOVED BACKWARDS AND CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE DOOR AND REAR QUARTER PANEL. THE TRUCK WAS NOT REALLY IN PARK AS IT APPEARED ON THE THE GEAR SELECTOR, IT WAS IN REVERSE. THE TRUCK WOULD NO LONGER START IN WHAT APPEARED TO BE PARK. SOERENS FORD OF BROOKFIELD, WI. DETERMINED THE BOLT WAS A STEERAGE LINKAGE BOLT. THE BOLT SITS WITH THE HEAD FACING DOWNWARD AND HAD SIMPLY VIBRATED LOOSE OUT OF THE HOLE BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING LOCKING IT IN PLACE. FORD HAS DETERMINED THAT IT IS AN INSURANCE PROBLEM BECAUSE OF THE BODY DAMAGE AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY IS CALLING A DESIGN DEFECT.*AK

HEATER SWITCH THAT INCREASES AND DECREASES THE HEAT HAS BEEN REPLACED 5 TIMES SINCE I'VE HAD THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE HAD 8,000 MILES WHEN I BOUGHT IT.
ON MY 1999 FORD F-150 PICKUP (33,000 MILES), BOTH THE EXTERIOR MIRRORS HAVE LOST REFLECTION AND TURNED BLACK. HAVE CHECKED REPEATEDLY FOR RECALL SINCE PURCHASE, BUT NONE ISSUED BY FORD. I HAVE COMPENSATED BY PUTTING SMALL ADHESIVE WIDE-ANGLE MIRROR ON. HOWEVER, ANOTHER DRIVER TRIED TO USE MIRROR AND WAS UNABLE TO SEE A SMALL CHILD AT RIGHT REAR FENDER. *AK
