I HAVE A 2004 FORD F150 AND HAVE HAD TO HAVE (2) POWER WINDOW REGULATORS REPLACED AND NOW THE THIRD HAS FAILED. TWICE THE PARTS FAILED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR. FORD SHOULD BE FORCED TO RECALL THE ITEM AND REFUND ANY DOLLARS SPENT PREVIOUSLY REPAIRING THEM. *TR
WINDOW REGULATOR FAIL ON MY 2004 FORD F150 PICKUP. THIS THE 3RD WINDOW REGULATOR THAT HAS FAILED. THE DEALER CHARGES 380 DOLLARS TO REPLACE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE WHEELS BEGAN TO LOCK. THE CONTACT FURTHER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THAT THE LINING ON THE BRAKE PADS WERE SEPARATING AND CAUSING THE BRAKE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TO BE EXAMINED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 52,000. UPDATED 10/26/10. *LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE PADS SEPARATED FROM THE CALIPERS WHICH CAUSED THE PADS TO BIND UP IN THE CALIPERS CAUSING THE REAR WHEELS TO LOCK UP. UPDATED 10/26/10
WINDOWS FELL INTO PANEL OF TRUCK DOOR, DUE TO DEFECTIVE WINDOW REGULATOR INSTALLED IN 2004 F150. THIS IS NOT VERY SAFE FOR ANYONE IN THE CAR OR OTHER CARS DRIVING NEAR YOUR VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENED TO THE DRIVERS WINDOW IN OCTOBER OF 2009 AND NOW IN MAY 2010 ON BOTH PASSENGER SIDE WINDOWS WITHIN 2 DAYS OF EACH OTHER. *TR
2004 F-150, MODERATE TO SEVERE VIBRATION APPEARING TO COME FROM THE DRIVE TRAIN OR DRIVE LINE. VIBRATION APPEARS IN THE 55 - 60 MPH AND CAN GET SO BAD THAT I WAS FORCED TO PULL OVER TO CHECK VEHICLE FOR DAMAGE. PROBLEM FIRST SURFACED AFTER TOWING A 3500 LBS TRAILER FOR ABOUT 60 MILES. NO PROBLEM PREVIOUSLY. F150 RATED FOR 5000 LBS. PROBLEM OCCURS INTERMITTENTLY BUT COMES ON SUDDENLY AND MUST PULL OVER FOR FEAR OF LOSING CONTROL OF VEHICLE. ATTEMPTED TYPICAL VIBRATION RELATED REPAIRS. TIRES COMPLETELY ROTATED AND REBALANCED. TRANSMISSION FLUSHED AND FLUID CHANGED. DIFFERENTIAL FLUID CHANGED. TRANSFER CASE FLUID CHANGED. ENGINE ELECTRONICALLY CHECKED FOR OPERATIONAL ISSUES OR "CODES". NONE. WHEN VIBRATION BEGINS, PUT F150 INTO NEUTRAL TO CHECK FOR POSSIBLE ENGINE MOUNT PROBLEMS. NEUTRAL HAD NO EFFECT ON EASING THE SEVERE VIBRATION. ATTEMPTED SIMPLY EASING OFF GAS - NO EFFECT. VIBRATION REMAINED SEVERE. ONLY SOLUTION IS TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND THEN RESTART. VIBRATION STOPS BUT ONLY FOR A PERIOD OF TIME THEN COMES BACK JUST AS SEVERE. REPAIRS TYPICALLY ASSOCIATED WITH VIBRATION AT SPEED HAVE HAD NO EFFECT. DANGER IS IN POTENTIAL LOSS OF CONTROL AND HAVING TO STOP ON HI-SPEED INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS WITH THE ASSOCIATED DANGER OF COLLISION FROM PASSING VEHICLES. *TR
2004 F-150 LARIAT.......DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD @ 55 MPH AND IT SOUNDED LIKE A ROCK HIT MY REAR WINDOW. I SWERVED AND THANKFULLY NO ONE WAS NEXT TO ME. THEN I STARTED HEARING THE WIND IN THE BACK SEAT AND I LOOKED BACK AND THE WINDOW WAS OPEN HALF WAY. WHEN I PULLED OVER IT FELL IN THE DOOR SO I HAD TO DRIVE IT HOME THE WAY IT WAS. THAT WAS WHEN I HAD 38,352 MILES ON IT. THE SECOND TIME I WAS WASHING THE TRUCK AND MOVED TO THE PASSENGERS SIDE AND OPENED THE DOOR AND THE DRIVERS WINDOW FELL IN THE DOOR. HOW HUMILIATING AND UNSAFE. THE DATE BELOW IS THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED. FORD SHOULD RECALL THESE TRUCKS AND REPLACE ALL FOR WINDOW REGULATORS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. WHILE TRAVELING AT 70 MPH, THE CONTACT STATED THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL POP. THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW HAD FALLEN INTO THE DOOR PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS NEITHER DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
I HAVE HAD ALL 4 WINDOW REGULATORS FAIL IN MY 2004 F-150 SUPER CREW. ONE OF THE 4, FELL SLOWLY, BUT THE OTHER THREE DROPPED SUDDENLY AND VIOLENTLY, CAUSING A ME TO BE STARTLED WHILE DRIVING. THANKFULLY NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED IN ANY OF THE 4 INCIDENTS. HOWEVER, TWO OF THE INCIDENTS OCCURRED IN BELOW FREEZING WEATHER AND A RAIN STORM, CREATING UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITIONS UNTIL I COULD GET THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. FORD IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND REFUSES TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DEFECTIVE REGULATORS. THEY CLAIM IT IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE AND THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL. I BEG TO DIFFER WHETHER IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE WINDOW HAS DROPPED SUDDENLY WHILE I WAS DRIVING, SOUNDING AS IF THE WINDOW WAS SHATTERED. BEING STARTLED WHILE DRIVING IS A SAFETY CONCERN AS WELL AS POSSIBLY HAVING TO DRIVE WITH THE WINDOW DROPPED IN ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS. *TR
2 FRONT WINDOWS STOP WORKING. ONE FELL IN TO DOOR. LAST YEAR REPLACED PASSENGER WINDOW. *TR
WINDOW REGULATORS ON MY FOUR DOOR 2004 FORD F150. REGULATOR, WHICH CONTROLS WINDOW GOING UP AND DOWN, FAILS. WINDOW WILL NOT WORK NOR, STAY UP AFTER FAILURE. FORD DEALER REPLACES REGULATOR AT $375.00 PER WINDOW, PER OCCURRENCE. NO PRIOR EVENTS, TO MY KNOWLEDGE, LEADS UP TO THE FAILURE. YOU WILL HEAR A "CRUNCHING" SOUND WHEN REGULATOR FAILS AND WINDOW DROPS INTO CAR DOOR. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY MY PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW UNEXPECTEDLY FELL THROUGH THE DOOR. WHEN I PRESSED THE BUTTON TO OPEN THE WINDOW A TAD THE REGULATOR BROKE AND THE WINDOW BEGAN TO FALL. A WEEK LATER THE SECOND BACK PASSENGER WINDOW CAME CRASHING DOWN ALSO. THANKFULLY IT WAS WHILE I WAS AT THE STORE AND THE CAR WAS STATIONARY. I HAD TO FIX THIS OUT OF POCKET LAST WEEK FOR ABOUT 700.00 FOR BOTH WINDOWS, THE REPAIR GUY AT FORD SAID THIS WASN'T COVERED OR ISSUED AS A RECALL. NOW FASTFORWARD TO YESTERDAY, MY SIDE DRIVER WINDOW COMES FALLING DOWN AND I HAD TO USE A DOORSTOP TO HOLD IT UP. I FEEL THIS IS A WIDESPREAD ISSUE THAT FORD HAS NOT COME TO TERMS WITH. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL ISSUED YEARS AGO. CHECKING THE INTERNET THERE A NUMEROUS SITES WHERE ANGRY CUSTOMERS OF FORD ARE EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM WAY TO FREQUENTLY.(EX. THE 3RD WINDOW REGULATOR IN MY FORD 150 HAS FAILED. ALL HAVE DROPPED WHILE DRIVING DOWN A ROAD. TWO ON A FREEWAY. I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN AND DON'T NEED THEM THAT CLOSE TO AN OPEN WINDOW. I HAVE HAD TWO REGULATORS REPLACED IN THE PAST 1.5 YEARS AND NOW NEED TO HAVE ANOTHER ONE REPLACED! *TR
DRIVER SIDE WINDOW SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING AND DROPPED DOWN INTO THE DOOR. LOUD SOUND AND SUDDEN RUSH OF AIR FROM THE OPEN WINDOW IS A STARTLING AND DANGEROUS DISTRACTION FROM DRIVING. THERE ARE NUMEROUS INSTANCES ON INTERNET CHATS AND FORUMS OF SUDDEN MALFUNCTION OF THE WINDOW MECHANISM IN THE 2004 FORD F150. *TR
ON 9 MAY 2010 TRAVELING ON I-64 AROUND NORFOLK AT BETWEEN 65 MPH AND 70 MPH IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW SUDDENLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY DROPPED DOWN INTO THE DOOR CAUSING AN UNEXPECTED DRAG ON THE VEHICLE AND FORCING NEAR LOSS OF CONTROL. APPARENTLY THE ELECTRIC WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED IN AN UNEXPECTED AND DANGEROUS MANNER. *TR
I HAVE A FORD F150 2004 WITH ONLY 45000 MILES AND THE WINDOWS IN THE REAR DROPPED WILL DRIVING AND MY 8 YEAR OLD SON WAS SITTING IN THE BACK SEAT. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME. I AM AFRAID THIS WILL BECOME AN EXTREME HAZARD AND SOMEONE WILL END UP HURT. FORD NEEDS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM... ITS WILL...IF IT HASN'T ALREADY COST SOMEONE TO CRASH AND POSSIBLY LOSE A LIFE. *TR
TWO WEEKS AGO I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ACROSS THE MONITOR MERIMACK BRIDGE TUNNEL IN HAMPTON ROADS VIRGINIA AT 58 MPH AND THE REAR WINDOW BEGAN TO GO DOWN WITHOUT THE CONTROL SWITCH BEING USED. IT STARTLED ME AND I SWERVED OVER AND ALMOST HIT THE CAR BESIDE ME. I HAD TO GET IT REPAIRED AND IT COST $454. THIS MORNING I WAS DRIVING TO WORK IN THE RAIN AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO THE RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW AND NOW IT WILL NOT GO UP. THE PARTS MUST BE DEFECTIVE BECAUSE I HAVE ONLY HAD THAT WINDOW DOWN THREE TIMES IN SIX YEARS AND I HAVE NEVER HAD THE REAR WINDOW DOWN THAT BROKE AT FIRST. *TR
I HAVE REPLACED 3 FAULTY DOOR WINDOW REGULATORS AND A 4TH ONE JUST BROKE. THIS RESULTS IN THE DOOR GLASS TO SUDDENLY FALL DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR. I FEEL THAT THESE FAILURES COULD BE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS. THIS SUDDEN AND STARTLING OCCURRENCE CAN CAUSE DRIVERS TO BECOME DISTRACTED RESULTING IN ACCIDENTS. *TR
THE POWER WINDOW REGULATORS ON THE REAR DOORS OF MY 2004 F-150 SUPERCREW HAVE BOTH FAILED WITHIN A YEARS' TIME. THIS FAILURE CAUSES THE WINDOW TO DROP DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR. IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN, AS IT HAPPENED WHILE MY CHILDREN WERE RIDING IN THE BACK SEAT. THERE IS NO WAY TO EASILY RAISE THE WINDOW WITHOUT TAKING IT TO A MECHANIC. *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN I-85 SOUTH HEADING TOWARDS LAGRANGE, GA AT APPROX. 65 MPH AND MY REAR WINDOW JUST FELL ALL THE WAY DOWN. IT SCARED THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS OUT OF ME BECAUSE I THOUGHT THE REAR DOOR HAD OPENED UP. I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE REGULATOR WENT OUT. I EXPLAINED THAT THE REAR WINDOW IS HARDLY EVER USED AND MY MECHANIC STATED THAT THERE HAVE BEEN A LOT OF ISSUES WITH FORD AND THIS SPECIFIC PROBLEM. THE REPAIR WAS $ 294 DOLLARS, BUT THE BIGGER CONCERN IS THAT MY RECENT INQUIRY OF THE INTERNET LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. THERE HAVE BEEN THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS AND NHTSA HAS MADE A RECOMMENDATION TO FORD TO RECALL THESE DEFECTIVE REGULATORS, HOWEVER, TO DATE, THEY HAVE IGNORED SAID RECOMMENDATION. I BELIEVE THIS NOT ONLY TO BE A DEFECT, BUT ALSO A SAFETY ISSUE. PLEASE CONSIDER REVIEWING YOUR RECOMMENDATION TO FORD AND MAKE IT A MANDATORY RECALL. THANK YOU! *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR BROKE WHILE ROLLING UP THE WINDOW SO THAT THE WINDOW CANNOT BE ROLLED BACK UP. THE REGULATOR CAN BE REPLACED AT A COST OF AROUND $350-$400. *TR
WHILE DRIVING, MY SON SITTING IN THE BACK PASSENGER SEAT PRESSED THE WINDOW SWITCH TO LOWER THE WINDOW. WHEN HE DID, THERE WAS A LOUD SOUND AND THE WINDOW DROPPED DOWN. I FOUND OUT FROM OUR MECHANIC THAT THE WINDOW REGULATOR BROKE. LATER IN THE YEAR, I WENT TO LOWER THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW WHILE STATIONARY, AND I HEARD THE MOTOR MOVING BUT THE WINDOW DID NOT LOWER. IT FINALLY SLOWLY FELL AS I STARTED DRIVING AND IT WOULD NOT GO BACK UP. AGAIN, IT WAS THE WINDOW REGULATOR THAT HAD FAILED. YESTERDAY, WHILE DRIVING FROM MY PLACE OF WORK AND MOVING ABOUT 25 MPH, I ACCIDENTLY HIT THE BACK DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW SWITCH, AND I HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND SAW THAT THE WINDOW HELD FELL PART WAY DOWN. AGAIN, THE REGULATOR HAD FAILED. SO, WITHIN THE PAST YEAR, THREE OF THE FOUR WINDOW REGULATORS HAVE FAILED AND I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THEM.
FACTORY SPARK PLUGS IN 2004 F 150 ARE BREAKING WHEN REMOVING EVEN FROM THE DEALERSHIPS. *TR
2004 FORD F-150 LARIAT BROKEN POWER WINDOW REGULATORS DRIVER SIDE. PU WAS PARKED ON MY DRIVEWAY OVERNIGHT. I THOUGHT SOMEBODY BROKE IN BUT NO BROKEN GLASS AND WINDOW MOTOR IS STILL RUNNING. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE DRIVER WENT TO START THE VEHICLE, THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG SUDDENLY DEPLOYED AND HE INJURED HIS LEFT HAND. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THAT THE DEALER COULD NOT ASSIST WITH THE FAILURE AS THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 10,800. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,750.
ENGINE STARTED KNOCKING AT 62,000 MILES LEADING TO TOTAL CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING. ENGINE SHUT DOWN AND I HAD LIMITED CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING. *TR
POWER WINDOW CAME CRASHING DOWN WHILE DRIVING IN A STORM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F150. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW FELL INTO THE DOOR HOUSING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE HAD OCCURRED WITH EACH WINDOW IN THE VEHICLE AT LEAST ONCE. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
2004 FORD F150 XLT SUPERCREW DRIVER'S SIDE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK TODAY, 4/21/2010. THE WINDOW LUCKILY JUST DROPPED INTO THE DOOR WITHOUT SHATTERING, BUT I AM NOW FACED WITH AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR. LUCKILY, I AM MECHANICALLY ABLE TO REPLACE THE PARTS MYSELF AT HOME, BUT THIS COULD HAVE BEEN BAD HAD THIS HAPPENED WHILE AWAY FROM HOME, OR WITH ANY OF MY GRANDCHILDREN IN THE TRUCK, HAD THE WINDOW SHATTERED AS SOME HAVE REPORTED. I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY FORD HAS NOT BEEN FORCED INTO A SAFETY RECALL WITH AS MANY COMPLAINTS AS THERE ARE CONCERNING THIS ISSUE! I JUST FINISHED ORDERING THE REPLACEMENT PART(S) FROM MY LOCAL FORD DEALER. I WILL KEEP THE OLD REGULATOR ASSEMBLY FOR A PERIOD OF TIME SHOULD ANYONE FROM THE NHTSA REQUEST TO INSPECT IT. THANKS! *TR
I OWN A 2004 FORD F-150 PICKUP TRUCK WITH 75,000 MILES. I HAVE HAD THE REGULATOR FAIL ON ALL FOUR WINDOWS ON THIS TRUCK. WHEN THIS HAS HAPPENED, I HAVE HAD TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE FOR DAYS WITH THE WINDOW DOWN OR TAPED UP AT TIMES IN DRIVING RAIN AND FREEZING TEMPERATURES. WHEN THE DRIVERS WINDOW FAILED AND FELL INTO THE DOOR FRAME, I WAS DRIVING 70 MPH ON A FREEWAY AND ALMOST SWERVED INTO ANOTHER LANE. THE REGULATORS FOR THE TWO PASSENGER WINDOWS JUST FAILED WITHIN A 3 WEEK PERIOD. *TR

I HAVE HAD TO PROP THEM UP IN PLACE BECAUSE FORD WANTS ALMOST $400.00 A WINDOW TO FIX. *TR
WHEN TRUCK WAS STARTED, LEFT REAR WINDOW OF 2004 F150 CREW CAB SLOWLY WENT DOWN ALL BY ITSELF, NO BUTTON WAS PUSHED. WOULDN'T RETURN TO UP POSITION. TRUCK WAS BOUGHT USED IN JANUARY 2010 AND THIS IS THE FIRST TIME, SO FAR, TO HAPPEN. ORDERING REPLACEMENT PART TO FIX. WILL KEEP OLD PART. *TR
THE 1ST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW JUST DROPPED INTO THE DOOR. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE REGULATOR WAS BAD SO I HAD TO REPLACE THE REGULATOR. THE 2ND TIME IT HAPPENED AN INDIVIDUAL RIDING IN THE BACK WAS ROLLING DOWN THE BACK PASSENGER WINDOW WHEN THE WINDOW DROPPED INTO THE DOOR AGAIN. ONCE AGAIN I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL DEALER AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE REGULATOR ON THIS WINDOW HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE 3RD TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AND THE DRIVERS WINDOW SUDDENLY DROPPED INTO THE DOOR AND THIS ONE WAS WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HAVING THE 2ND WINDOW FIXED. ONCE AGAIN I WENT TO A LOCAL DEALER AND THE REGULATOR ON THIS WINDOW WAS BAD AS WELL. YESTERDAY I WAS LEAVING WORK AND STARTED TO ROLL DOWN MY WINDOWS WHEN THE PASSENGER WINDOW SUDDENLY DROPPED INTO THE DOOR. ONCE AGAIN I TOOK MY TRUCK TO A LOCAL DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE REGULATOR WAS BAD. I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT BECAUSE 4 WINDOW REGULATORS GOING BAD WITHIN 15 MONTHS OF EACH OTHER SHOULD NOT BE ACCEPTABLE. PLUS I HAVE 3 SMALL CHILDREN AND WHAT IF THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN WITH ME AND THE WEATHER WAS BAD OUTSIDE. EVERYTIME THAT THE INCIDENTS HAVE HAPPENED I HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE TO NOT HAVE MY FAMILY WITH ME. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND IT SEEMS THIS IS A PRETTY COMMON ISSUE PLUS THE DEALER HAS TOLD ME THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT THEY SEE REGULARLY. *TR

I PUSHED THE BUTTON TO LOWER MY DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW ON MY 2004 FORD F150 SUPERCREW XLT YESTERDAY AND AFTER HEARING A LOUD "POP" MY DOOR GLASS QUICKLY FEEL DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR. THE WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR STILL WORKED, BUT IT JUST MADE A GRINDING NOISE AND WOULDN'T MOVE THE GLASS. THE SUDDEN FAILURE OF THE WINDOW STARTLED ME AND I RAN OFF THE ROADWAY AND ALMOST CRASHED MY TRUCK. I TOOK THE DOOR APART AND INSPECTED THE REGULATOR AND THE ENTIRE CABLE MECHANISM HAD SEPARATED IN 3 PLACES. THE CONNECTION TO THE MOTOR ALONG WITH TWO OTHER CONNECTIONS. THE ONLY FIX IS WINDOW REGULATOR REPLACEMENT. I ORDERED A REPLACEMENT REGULATOR FROM A LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE. WHEN I COMPARED THE NEW ONE TO THE ORIGINAL I OBSERVED A MAJOR DIFFERENCE. THE NEW ONE HAD COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF LUBRICANT ON THE GUIDES, CABLES AND PULLEYS. THE ORIGINAL REGULATOR MECHANISM WAS COMPLETELY DRY WITH NO EVIDENCE OF ANY TYPE OF LUBRICATION. WAS THE LACK OF LUBRICATION A FACTOR IN THE FAILURE? I AM NOT SURE. BUT, I DID FIND EVIDENCE OF METAL ON METAL. I PLAN ON REPAIRING THE PROBLEM MYSELF WITH AN AFTERMARKET OEM PART. THIS IS DUE TO THE NUMEROUS REPEATED FAILURES OF FORD WINDOW REGULATORS THAT HAVE BEEN DOCUMENTED ONLINE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE! WHEN I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK NEW THE SLIDING BACK GLASS DID NOT WORK BEFORE I DROVE IT OFF THE DEALERSHIP LOT. THE DEALER REPLACED THE MOTOR, SWITCH, CABLE MECHANISM AND EVENTUALLY REPLACED THE ENTIRE REAR WINDOW BEFORE THE PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED. AFTER CONDUCTING RESEARCH ONLINE I HAVE FOUND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS OF FORD F150 TRUCK OWNERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED POWER WINDOW REGULATOR FAILURES. *TR

I STARTED TO "ROLL" THE PASSENGER DOOR FRONT WINDOW DOWN AND IMMEDIATELY THE WINDOW JUST DROPPED ALL THE WAY INSIDE THE DOOR LEAVING NO WINDOW AVAILABLE ON THAT DOOR. NO WINDOW, NO PROTECTION FROM THE WEATHER, NO SECURITY, ETC. THE WINDOW WOULD NOT COME UP AND REMAINED DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR. I'VE READ ABOUT THIS AS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT LOOKS LIKE A REAL OBVIOUS RECALL SITUATION. PLEASE MAKE FORD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS FAILURE AS IT APPARENTLY CAN HAPPEN OVER AND OVER BECAUSE OF INFERIOR PARTS. THIS IS MY FIRST OCCURENCE IN MY 23 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP - THANK GOODNESS. THERE ARE SO MANY SIMILAR REPORTS AND I ASK THAT YOU BE FAIR TO THE CONSUMERS AND FORCE FORD TO RECALL THESE PARTS WITH A SUITABLE REPLACEMENT PART. WHILE ROTATING THE TIRES ON MY 2004 F-150 I NOTICED THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT COIL SPRING WAS BROKEN. I THEN LOOKED AT THE PASSENGER SIDE AND SEEN THAT ONE WAS BROKEN ALSO. TRUCK STARTS MAKING A LOUD TICKING NOISE COMING FROM ENGINE, I HAVE ALWAYS GOTTEN OIL CHANGES AND HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THIS IS BUT IT HAS LOWERED POWER ALSO. IT IS STILL MAKING THE TICKING/RATTLING NOISE AND ITS LOUD. CARRIED TO FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST $2000.00 OR MORE. TOLD THIS IS NORMAL.
