I OWN A 2004 FORD F150 5.4 LITER ENGINE. I HAVE NEVER CHANGED THE SPARK PLUGS. I DRIVING AND A SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT OF THE ENGINE. THIS COULD BE A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND EXPENSIVE AND NOT CREATED BY ME,IT HAS TO BE A DEFECT. THE GAS VAPORS COMING OUT OF THE PLUG HOLE COULD START A FIRE. *TR
TRANSMISSION FAILURE, DRIVING TO WORK, TRANSMISSION SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL , AGAIN AND AGAIN, LOST OF POWER IN TRAFFIC WHILE DRIVING ,ALL FLUIDS WERE NORMAL, WILL NOT SHIFT INTO 3RD GEAR, SLIPS INTO NEUTRAL AT 34 MPH, 80,176 MILES ON OD. I DROVE TO FORD DEALER IN 2ND GEAR, $450.00 JUST TO LOOK AT, 3- RINGS +VALVE BODY NEED REPLACING, TOTAL OF $2,468.00 COST OF REPAIR. SAFETY ISSUE == LOOSING ALL DRIVE POWER IN TRAFFIC, THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL AFTER SEEING ALL THE COMPLAINTS ON THIS WEBSITE THIS IS MY SECOND BIG REPAIR WITH DRIVE TRAIN. AT 60,000 MILE A HAD TO REPLACE THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL AT $1,600.00+ , I DO NOT TOW ANYTHING AND DO NOT USE THE TRUCK FOR WORK, 4.6L , 2-WHEEL DRIVE. *TR
I WAS DOING NOTHING ABNORMAL, SIMPLY TRYING TO BACK UP FROM A STORE WITH NOTHING IN BED OF TRUCK. THE TRUCK SHIFTED INTO REVERSE NORMALLY THEN AS I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE A SLIGHT THUD. TRUCK THEN REVVED IN REVERSE AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. NO SIGNS LEADING UP TO INCIDENT, NO NOISES, ABNORMAL BEHAVIOR, OR SIGNS OF ANY KIND. CORRECTIONS ARE BEING LOOKED INTO TWO DAYS FROM NOW BUT A ROUGH ESTIMATE FROM 3 TRANSMISSION SHOPS ESTIMATE APRX. $2000 TO REPAIR. THE OLD INTERNAL PARTS MAY BE ABLE TO BE SAVED FOR INSPECTION, I WILL INQUIRE WITH MECHANIC. *TR
THE WINDOWS ON THE 2004 FORD F150 WILL RANDOMLY FALL DOWN DUE TO A WINDOW REGULATOR ISSUE. THIS COULD BE POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AS ROAD DEBRIS COULD STRIKE THE DRIVER THROUGH AN OPEN WINDOW. THE ISSUE IS ON ALL WINDOWS OF THE VEHICLE AND IT REQUIRE THE ENTIRE WINDOW REGULATOR BE REPLACED AT APPROXIMATELY $350 PER WINDOW. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD VIBRATE EXCESSIVELY WHEN DRIVING 40 MPH AND OVER. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT REMAIN IN THIRD GEAR WHEN SHIFTED AND THE INTERIOR OF ALL FOUR TIRES WERE WORN PREMATURELY. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED AT A LOCAL TIRE SPECIALTY FACILITY AND THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO ROTATE THE TIRES EVERY 2000-3000 MILES. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD EXHIBIT AN UNUSUAL KNOCKING FROM THE TOP PORTION OF THE ENGINE. THE REAR BRAKE LIGHT ABOVE THE CREW CAB WOULD BECOME FILLED WITH WATER THAT WAS LEAKING INTO THE VEHICLE. ALSO WHEN ACCELERATING TO HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD BECOME RESISTANT TO ACCELERATION. THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO DEPRESS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ABRUPTLY. WHEN DOING SO, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE AND THE VEHICLE WOULD VIBRATE VIOLENTLY. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE FUEL GAUGE AND TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER, PASSENGER, AND REAR PASSENGER WINDOWS WOULD OPEN AND FALL INTO THE DOOR PANEL UNEXPECTEDLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE WINDOW REGULATORS FAILED AND WOULD NEED REPLACING. THE WINDOW REGULATORS WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THE CONTACT ADVISED THEM OF THE FAILURE, STATING THAT HE HAD BEEN A VITIM OF THEFT AS A RESULT OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.
BACK DRIVER SIDE WINDOW DROPPED INTO THE DOOR WHILE DRIVING. A FEW MONTHS LATER THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW FELL INTO THE DOOR WHILE MY GRANDDAUGHTER WAS IN HER CARSEAT IN THE BACK SEAT WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THIS NOT ONLY SCARED ME BUT ALSO MY GRANDDAUGHTER. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. IS THAT WHAT IT IS GOING TO TAKE BEFORE A RECALL IS MADE ON THIS DEFECTIVE PART? LOOK AT WHAT TOYOTA IS GOING THROUGH NOW BY DELAYING ACTION ON SAFETY RECALLS. *TR
BOTH DRIVER SIDE WINDOWS FRONT AND REAR REGULATORS FAILED AND WINDOWS CAME CRASHING DOWN ON MY 2004 FORD F150. IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX AND I THINK IT SHOULD BE RECALLED. I HAVE SPOKEN TO SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO OWN THE SAME TRUCK AND THEY HAVE HAD THE SAME FAILURE. THE SHOP WANTS BETWEEN $400-$500 TO FIX EACH WINDOW. *TR
SINCE APPROXIMATELY 120,000 MILES, THIS VEHICLE HAS EXPERIENCED SPARK PLUG FAILURE AT A RATE OF ABOUT TWO EACH 5,000 MILES. PRIOR TO THIS PERIOD, THE VEHICLE HAD NO HISTORY OF SPARK PLUG FAILURE. THE PLUGS WERE CHANGED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDED SERVICE SCHEDULE AROUND 101,000 MILES. BETWEEN 120,000 AND 142,000 MILES, EIGHT SPARK PLUGS AND TWO COILS FAILED DURING NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. AN ADDITIONAL TUNEUP AND COMPLETE SPARK PLUG REPLACEMENT WAS PERFORMED AT 142,000 MILES AFTER TWO FAILED DURING NORMAL FREEWAY DRIVING CONDITIONS. ANOTHER SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT AND WAS REPLACED AT 148,000 MILES. IN ADDITION TO SPARK PLUG FAILURE, SEVERAL OF THESE PLUGS HAVE BROKEN WHILE BEING EXTRACTED, CAUSING NEEDLESSLY EXPENSIVE REPAIRS. *TR
RIGHT SIDE WINDOW FELL INTO DOOR WHILE DRIVING, IM TOLD THE WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED......TWO MONTHS AFTER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY EXPIRED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDOWS ON THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE FAILED FOUR TIMES. WHENEVER THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING THE WINDOWS FELL DOWN . THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND EACH TIME THE REPAIRS COST HIM $250 FOR EACH WINDOW. EACH TIME THE DEALER REPLACED THE MOTOR AND THE REGULATOR THEY CONTINUED TO FAIL. FORD SPARK PLUGS FAIL AND ARE UNABLE TO BE REMOVED WITHOUT DAMAGE, REQUIRING SPECIAL TOOL OR SIGNIFICANT COST. *TW *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND HEARD A LOUD NOISE. I THOUGHT SOMETHING HIT THE SIDE OF MY CAR. BUT MY DRIVER SIDE WINDOW FELL. I AM JUST GLAD IT WASN'T A BACK WINDOW WITH KIDS IN THE BACK. THIS COULD HAVE REALLY CAUSED SOME KIND OF ACCIDENT. IT WAS ALSO RAINING/SNOWING DURING THE TIME IT FELL. I HAD TO TURN UP THE HEATER AND DRIVE THE REST OF THE WAY HOME WITH THE WINDOW BROKEN. MY TRUCK JUST HAS 50, 000 THOUSAND MILES. *TR

THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW HAS ALSO FALLEN INSIDE THE DOOR. NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73156. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 73315.
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WINDOW BROKE. I WAS AT CVS AND ROLLED THE WINDOW DOWN AND IT WOULDN'T ROLL BACK UP. MY HUSBAND TOOK THE DOOR APART TO GET THE WINDOW UP BUT IT WON'T STAY UP. WE HAVE CHECKED AND ARE HAVING A HARD TIME FINDING THE PART. SEEMS IT'S A DEALER ONLY PART, WE ARE CHECKING JUNKYARD BECAUSE THE PART IS ALMOST $200 FOR THE PART, AND THIS IS THE SECOND TIME WE HAVE HAD TO FIX THE WINDOW IN THIS TRUCK. THE TRUCK IS A 2004 AND I HAVE HAD IT 2 1/2 YRS AND HAD TO FIX THE WINDOW TWICE IN THAT TIME. *TR
2004 FORD F-150 WINDOW FELL DOWN AS I WAS DRIVING ALMOST CAUSING ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT. *TR
WINDOWS WOULD ROLL UP AND DOWN NORMALLY WITH NO PROBLEM. ONE DAY IN FEB. OF 2010 MY PASENGER BACKSEAT WINDOW FELL DOWN HALFWAY INTO THE DOOR. I COULD NOT USE MY POWER SWITCH AT ALL. IN FACT WHEN I TRIED IT GAVE OFF A BURNT SMELL. I WAS TOLD TO REPLACE THE WINDOW REGULATOR. I COULDN'T FIND ONE LOCALLY SO I TEMPORARALY FIXED IT BY PUTTING A HEAVY DUTY PIECE OF CARDBOARD IN THE DOOR TO HOLD THE WINDOW UP. NO MORE THAN ABOUT 2 WEEKS LATER, MY DRIVERSIDE BACKSEAT WINDOW DID THE EXACT SAME THING. SO I SEARCHED ONLINE AND FOUND A NEW PAIR TO REPLACE THE BROKEN ONES. THEN ON 3/22/2010 WHILE DRIVING, MY DRIVERSIDE FRONT WINDOW BEGAN TO CREEP DOWN. I TRIED THE SWITCH AND SLAM! THE WINDOW FELL ALL THE WAY INTO THE DOOR. I CAN'T EVEN PULL IT OUT ENOUGH TO TAPE IT SHUT. I AM TRUELY UPSET BECAUSE NOT ONLY IS THIS A HUGE INCONVIENIENCE, BUT A SAFETY HAZZARD. EACH WINDOW REGULATOR IS ROUGHLY $130-$145 DEPENDING ON WHICH SIDE IS NEEDED. THIS PRICE IS PICKED UP, NOT AN INSTALLED QUOTE. MY PARTS ARE ORDERED AND ON THIER WAY.
ALL FOUR OF MY WINDOW REGULATORS HAVE FAILED WITHIN A 90 DAY PERIOD. ONE WAS SHOCKING, TWO WAS IRRITATING, THREE FAILURES AND I'M GETTING UPSET AND NOW FOUR FAILURES AND CLEARLY THERE SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F150. HE STATED THAT THE FRONT AND REAR DRIVER'S SIDE POWER WINDOWS FAILED. WHEN OPENING THE WINDOWS, THE GLASS WOULD CLOSE FORCEFULLY INTO THE DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY WHERE THE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW EXHIBITED THE SAME FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED A SECOND TIME. THERE WERE NO RELATED RECALLS. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SPARK PLUGS HAD DETACHED FROM THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO ADVISED HIM TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL DEALER. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 97,000. DURING WINTER STORM 2010 (JANUARY 30-31, 2010) THE PASSAGER WINDOW ON MY 2004 F-150 SUDDENLY FELL DOWN AND WOULD NOT GO BACK UP. TOOK THIS VEHICLE TO CAVILIER FORD IN CHESAPEAKE, VA AND WAS TOLD THAT THE WINDOW REGULATOR/PULLEY ASSEMBLY WAS BROKEN AND THAT THE COST OF REPAIR WOULD COST $535; RESEACHED THIS ON THE WEB (CARCOMPLAINTS.COM) AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A BIG, BIG, COSTLY AND DANGEROUS PROBLEM. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL FIX. THIS COULD HAPPEN TO THE OTHER 3 WINDOWS AND COULD HAPPEN REPEATLY. *CN

PASS. SIDE ELECTRIC WINDOW FAILED AND WENT DOWN INTO THE DOOR ON IT'S OWN PROCEEDED BY A CLUNK SOUND FROM THE DOOR AS II WAS DRIVING. THE WINDOW DID NOT RESPOND TO ANY COMMANDS FROM THE CONTROL PANEL ON THE DRIVERS DOOR. UPON EXAMINATION OF THE DOOR THE NEXT DAY I FOUND CABLE LAYING IN THE DOOR AND THE WINDOW NOT WORKING. *TR

VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT OVERNIGHT. THE FAILURE IS THAT THE POWER WINDOW REGULATORS BLOW OUT, JUST STOP WORKING AND THE WINDOW SLIDES TO THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME WITHIN A YEAR OF ME HAVING HAD A DIFFERENT WINDOW'S REGULATOR REPLACED THAT THIS HAS OCCURRED. TO CORRECT THE POWER WINDOW REGULATORS HAVE TO BE REPLACED, ITS A DEALER-ONLY PART SO YOU CAN'T SAVE BY GOING TO A NON-DEALER WORKSHOP. *TR

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND HEARD A THUMP FROM DRIVER SIDE DOOR. THE WINDOW HAD DROPPED INTO THE DOOR. I WASN'T RAISING OR LOWERING IT BEFORE OR DURING THE DROP. IT TURNED OUT TO BE A WINDOW REGULATOR AND A LITTLE RESEARCH LET ME KNOW THAT IT'S A VERY WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR'S (2004) FORD F150. *TR
I OWN A 2004 F150 AND HAD THE DRIVER'S SIDE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR FAIL ON MY TRUCK AS HAVE THOUSANDS OF OTHER PEOPLE FROM WHAT I AM READING ONLINE. I WAS TRAVELING 65 MILES PER HOUR WHEN MY WINDOW FELL INTO MY DOOR. THE DAY PRIOR I ROLLED MY WINDOW UP AT THE POST OFFICE AND HEARD A CRUNCHING OR CRACKING SOUND AS THE WINDOW REACHED THE TOP. I TOO DID NOT THINK MUCH OF IT UNTIL MY WINDOW FELL IN. TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM I PAID A FORD DEALERSHIP IN LOVELAND, COLORADO $400 TO REPLACE THE DAMAGED PARTS IN MY DOOR. THE OLD PART IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE AS I ASSUME THEY THREW IT AWAY. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD AS AT 65 MILES PER HOUR IN A DRIVING WIND A LOT OF DUST/DIRT DEBRIS ENTERED MY TRUCK UNTIL I GOT PULLED OVER ON THE HIGHWAY. LUCKILY I DID NOT GET ANYTHING IN MY EYES. FORD SHOULD BE FORCED TO RECALL THESE REGULATORS AND REFUND PEOPLES EXPENSE THAT HAVE ALREADY FIXED THIS. *CN
2004 FORD F150 - WINDOWS SUDDENLY DROP INTO DOOR WHILE DRIVING. THERE ARE THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ON THE WWW FOR THIS PROBLEM - PLEASE ISSUE A SAFETY RECALL THIS HAPPENED TWICE TO ME WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION (WHILE DRIVING). JUST TRYING TO FIND OUT WHAT MADE A NOISE AND HAVING MY CHILDREN SUDDENLY PELTED BY RAIN AND OTHER ROAD DEBRIS IS A SERIOUS, SERIOUS, SAFETY ISSUE. I BELIEVE I'VE READ THAT NHTSA HAS "PETITIONED" FORD TO ISSUE THE RECALL, HOWEVER, THEY HAVE CLEARLY STATED TO THEIR CONSUMERS THAT THEY WILL DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING UNLESS NHTSA ISSUES A SAFETY RECALL. PLEASE HELP CONSUMERS HAVE THE VOICE YOUR ORGANIZATION WAS DESIGNED FOR - TO NOT HAVE MANUFACTURERS IGNORE CONSUMER SAFETY ISSUES THAT CAN CAUSE INJURY AND EVEN DEATH. IF YOUR ORGANIZATION CANNOT HELP, WHO ELSE CAN WE TURN TO SINCE THE MANUFACTURER IS COMPLETELY IGNORING THE CONSUMER SAFETY PROBLEM??? *TR
THE WINDOWS IN MY TRUCK KEEP FALLING DOWN. HAPPENS VERY OFTEN. IT HAS HAPPENED OVER 5 TIMES SINCE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK. ALMOST CAUSED A WRECK. IF HAPPENS AGAIN I WILL SEEK LEGAL ACTION. *TR
MY SON AND I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER AND MY DRIVERS SIDE ELECTRIC WINDOW JUST FELL DOWN INTO THE DOOR. I TRIED TO RAISE THE WINDOW BUT ALL I COULD HEAR WAS THE MOTOR RUNNING. IT WAS CLOSE TO FREEZING TEMPERATURES OUTSIDE AND RAINING PRETTY HARD SO I PULLED OFF THE ROAD TO TRY AND GET THE WINDOW UP BUT HAD NO LUCK. BECAUSE IT WAS RAINING AND I WAS TWO HOURS FROM HOME MY SON AND I COULDN'T MAKE IT HOME SO WE DROVE UNDERNEATH AN OVER PASS AND WAITED THE RAIN OUT. AFTER A 2 HOUR WAIT THE RAIN SLACKED OFF SO WE ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE HOME. WE MADE IT AN HOUR DOWN THE ROAD AND THE RAIN GOT HEAVY AGAIN SO WE PULLED INTO A COVERED GAS STATION. AFTER AN ADDITIONAL HOUR WAIT WE HIT THE ROAD AGAIN. IT WAS A COLD AND WET RIDE HOME BUT WE FINALLY MADE IT. NO ONE WAS HURT BUT I CONSTANTLY HAD TO DRY OFF THE STEERING WHEEL BECAUSE THE RAIN WATER MADE IT SLIPPERY. *TR
I OWN A 2004 F150 FORD PICKUP, I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE WINDOW REGULATOR 2 TIMES IN 1 YEAR. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE, WHEN THE REGULATOR BREAKS THE WINDOW JUST COMES CRASHING DOWN. FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS NOT RECALLED OR DONE ANYTHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND COME TO FIND OUT THERE HAVE BEEN HUNDREDS OF CONSUMERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. IT APPEARS THE PLASTIC CLIP IN THE REGULATOR IS WHAT BREAKS, UNFORTUNATELY THE CLIP CANNOT BE REPLACED SO EACH TIME A COMPLETE REGULATOR MUST BE PURCHASED THE COST HAS BEEN $400.00 EACH TIME. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!! ANY HELP ON YOUR PART WOULD GREATLY BE APPRECIATED. *TR
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW SUDDENLY DROPPED INTO THE DOOR AND COULDN'T BE RAISED. IT WAS RAINING AT THE TIME AND QUITE CHILLY WHICH MADE DRIVING HAZARDOUS AS WELL AS UNCOMFORTABLE. SINCE THIS OCCURRED ON SUNDAY DURING THE NEW YEAR'S HOLIDAY ON AN ISOLATED STRETCH OF HIGHWAY NO IMMEDIATE RELIEF WAS AVAILABLE. AFTER DRIVING 40 MILES UNDER THESE CONDITIONS I WAS ABLE TO PURCHASE SOME PLASTIC AND DUCT TAPE TO MAKE A TEMPORARY REPAIR. THE REPAIR MADE OBSCURED MY VISION ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE, AGAIN A HAZARDOUS SITUATION. THE PART THAT NEEDED REPLACED WAS A WINDOW ASSEMBLY REGULATOR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F150. WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF LESS THAN 25 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE POWER WINDOW FELL INTO DOOR PANE WITHOUT WARNING OR DRIVER INTENT. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY ADVISED THE WINDOW REGULATOR HAD FAILED AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT HONOR REPAIRS MADE UNDER HIS EXTENDED WARRANTY. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE TO DATE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 76,500. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
PLUG FAILURE IN V8-TRITON ENGINES THEY BREAK OFF IN THE HEADS OF THE ENGINES IS ONE PROBLEM CAUSING A 300 DOLLAR TUNE UP TO SKY ROCKET ALL THE WAY UP TO 2800 DOLLARS THIS IS ALL TRITON 3 VALVE MOTORS FORD SAID THE FIXED THE PROBLEM THEY DID NOT AND THEY STILL BREAK . THE OTHER PROBLEM IS THAT SOME OF THE PLUGS BLOW OUT THE HEADS CAUSING A SUDDEN POWER LOSS AND POSSIBLE ACCIDENTS WHEN I CONTACTED THE DEALER ALL THEY WOULD DO IS GIVE ME A PRICE QUOTE AGAINST BROKEN PLUGS TRYING TO TAKE THEM OUT THEY SAID IT FALLS UNDER WARRANTY RESTRICTIONS AND THAT'S NOT FAIR BECAUSE ONE OF THE SELLING POINTS ABOUT THE TRUCK WAS NO NEED FOR A TUNE UP FOR 100.00 THOUSAND MILES YOU CAN'T HIT THAT NUMBER 3 YEARS 3600 MILES THERE ARE A LOT ANGRY PEOPLE OUT THERE BECAUSE OF THIS ME INCLUDED AND I BELIEVE IT FALLS UNDER A DANGERS VEHICLE PROBLEM I NO THEY HAVE FIXED OTHER PEOPLE TRUCKS OVER THE WARRANTY AND I HAD TO FIX MY ON TRUCK AFTER IT STOP RUNNING AND I COULDN'T GET A ATTORNEY I AM HANDICAP AND DON'T HAVE THE MONEY IT TOOK AT LEAST WEEK TO GET THE PLUGS OUT BY MY SELF THE NEW PLUGS COST A $103.00 AND THE TIME CRAWLING AROUND BECAUSE MY LEGS OR BAD I FIGURE 100,000 WOULD BE FAIR OR MAY PLUGS PAID AND A TRADE FOR NEW TIRES. *TR
STEERING BECAME VERY HARD INTERMITTENTLY. I THOUGHT THAT I HAD A POWER STEERING PROBLEM. STEERING WOULD NOT RETURN TO CENTER WHEN COMPLETING TURNS AND FROZE UP ON TURNS AT LOW SPEED. TOOK TO DEALER AND ADVISED THAT UNIVERSALS IN STEERING SHAFT WERE RUSTED FROZEN. TRUCK HAD 98,000 MILES. A FRIEND WITH A 2007 F-150 WITH 50,000 MILES HAD SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION, SINCE IT WAS DIFFICULT TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE IN TURNS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F150. THE CONTACT STATED THE FRONT AND REAR WINDOW REGULATORS FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THERE WAS NOT A RECALL FOR THE FAILURE BUT THEY DID OFFER TO ASSIST WITH THE REPAIR COSTS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 34,800.

PULLED TRUCK OVER AND PUT TRUCK IN PARK THEN BACK IN DRIVE. DROVE IN PARKING LOT ABOUT 50 FEET AND IT FELT LIKE IT WAS IN 4WD. STOPPED TRUCK AND MOVED THE 4WD SELECTION KNOB TO 4WH, AND THEN 4WL AND BACK TO 2WD. ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE TRUCK IN PARKING LOT AGAIN. TRUCK SEEMED TO BE STUCK IN 1ST GEAR. TRANS FAULT DISPLAYED ON LCD DISPLAY AND O/D LIGHT WAS CONSTANTLY BLINKING. READ OWNERS MANUAL AND IT SAID THE TRUCK THE TRUCK WOULD GO INTO "LIMP MODE" INTENDED TO ALLOW YOU TO DRIVE AT A SLOW SPEED. WHILE DRIVING IN LIMP MODE AT ABOUT 15-20 MPH THE TRANSMISSION SEEMED TO LOCK UP. PULLED TRUCK OVER AGAIN AND PUT IT IN PARK. TRIED ONE MORE TIME TO PUT IT IN DRIVE AND GET HOME IN LIMP MODE, LIMP MODE ALLOWED US TO GET HOME. 3. NO REPAIR ATTEMPT HAS BEEN MADE AS OF YET DUE TO THE ANTICIPATED HIGH COST. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE WINDOW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON THE REAR PASSENGER AND DRIVERS SIDE WINDOWS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE WINDOW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED A SECOND TIME. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 184,250 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 187,866.
2004 F150 CREW CAB - A FEW MONTHS AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED, THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED CAUSING THE WINDOW TO FALL INTO THE TRACK WITHOUT WARNING. THE RESULT OF THE FAILURE CAUSED ME TO SWERVE AND NARROWLY MISS ON COMING TRAFFIC. A FEW MONTHS AGO THE PASSENGERS FWD WINDOW FAILED IN THE SAME MANNOR. THEN JUST SUNDAY 12-27-09 THE RIGHT REAR WINDOW FAILED THE SAME WAY. SO 3 OF 4 REGULATORS FAILED, CAUSING $1300.00 IN REPAIRS. JUST WAITING FOR THE 4TH TO FAIL AS WELL. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE TO FORD TO COVER THE COSTS OF REPAIRS. THIS DESIGN HAS AN OBVIOUS FLAW AND ALL THE DEALERS ARE SAYING IS "LODGE A COMPLAINT" AS THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY. MAKE FORD TAKE SOME TARP MONEY AND REIMBURSE THE GENERAL PUBLIC FOR THERE DESIGN ERROR. NO DEATHS HAVE BEEN ATTRIBUTED TO THIS PROBLEM BUT DO NOT WAIT UNTIL ONE OCCURS BEFORE ACTION IS TAKEN. *TR

I HAVE A 2004 FORD F-150 LARIAT WITH 83,000 MILES ON IT. ABOUT 5 MONTHS A CABLE POPPED ON MY DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT WINDOW AND THE WINDOW FELL. NOW, 5 MONTHS LATER THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR WINDOW DID THE SAME THING. A LOUD POP THEN THE WINDOW FELL. APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN FORD VEHICLES AND FORD REFUSES TO FIX THEM. UPON ROLLING MY 2004 FORD F-150 PASSENGER POWER WINDOW DOWN TO GET ON A MILITARY BASE WHERE I WORK ON A DAILY BASIS AND THEY CHECK YOUR IDENTIFICATION FOR SECURITY REASONS ON A DAILY BASIS. I DROVE PAST THE CHECK POINT AND TRIED TO ROLL POWER WINDOW UP. I THEN HEARD A LOUD POP WHICH SOUNDED LIKE A GUNSHOT AND THE WINDOW JUST "DROPPED "INTO THE DOOR. I TRIED TO ROLL THE WINDOW UP BUT JUST HEARD A MOTOR INSIDE THE DOOR HOUSING.NEEDLESS TO SAY THE WINDOW WAS STUCK IN THE DOWN POSITION FOR A DAY OR TWO UNTIL I COULD TAKE THE DOOR PANEL OFF AND PUSH THE WINDOW UP AND TAPED IT IN THE UP POSITION. THIS HAPPENED TO THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO 3 DAYS BEFORE I DEPLOYED TO IRAQ. MY WIFE HAD THE DRIVER DOOR FIXED AT THE FORD DEALER FOR $100.00. MY FORD TRUCK IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE IT IS NOT DRIVEN THAT MUCH, DUE TO ME BEING OUT OF THE COUNTRY FOR MONTHS AT A TIME BUT I HAVE READ OVER 1000 COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME WINDOW SITUATION. WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO HAVE A COMPANY RECALL A PRODUCT. I HAVE NOT TAKEN MY FORD F-150 TO THE DEALER YET, BUT I AM EXPECTING TO PAY AT LEAST ANOTHER $100.00 TO FIX IT. SHORTLY AFTER THE ADVISEMENT, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE SPARKS PLUGS WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE BECAUSE THEY HAVE FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 48000.
