THE FRONT AND REAR DRIVERS SIDE WINDOWS HAVE SUDDENLY FAILED ON MY 2005 FORD F-150. THE WINDOWS SUDDENLY ROLL DOWN AND ARE NOT ABLE TO ROLL BACK UP. *TR
2005 FORD F-150 PASSENGER WINDOW FELL AND COST 300.00 TO REPAIR. TWO WEEKS LATER THE DRIVERS WINDOW FELL, HAVEN'T HAD IT REPAIRED YET. ONLY 22000 MILES ON VEHICLE. *TR
WAS DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY, WENT TO LET DRIVER WINDOW UP, THE WINDOW SLAMS UP VERY FAST, MADE THIS LOUD POPPING SOUND THAN FALLS TO THE BOTTOM OF DOOR, IT WOULD NOT GO BACK UP OR DOWN, IT REALLY SCARED ME DIDN'T NO WHAT WAS GOING ON. HAD TO PUT FOILED PAPER IN WINDOW TO KEEP IT UP. ALL YOU CAN HERE IS SOMETHING MOVING INSIDE BUT WINDOW WILL NOT MOVE. THIS COULD REALLY BE A SAFETY ISSUE. *TR

2005 FORD F150 WINDOW REGULATOR FAILURE. *TR
WINDOW ON DRIVERS SIDE WILL NOT GO UP, IN A ROLLOVER, LIMBS AND HEAD COULD PROTRUDE OUTSIDE CAUSING SERIOUS BODILY HARM AND OR DEATH, THIS ACCIDENT HAS NOT TAKEN PLACE YET, I AM ONLY SAYING IT COULD. *TR
2005 F150 JUST DIES WITHOUT ANY WARNING. DRIVING DOWN THE HWY AND JUST DIES. IT HAPPENS FREQUENTLY, JUST DIES, IT ALWAYS TAKES A FEW TRIES TO GET IT RESTARTED. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. WE KNOW AT LEAST 4 OTHER FAMILYS THAT ALSO HAVE 2005 F150'S AND THEY HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. MY CO-WORKER HAS HERS IN THE FORD SHOP RIGHT NOW AND THEY ARE CHARGING 1300.00 TO FIX IT. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT WITH ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL AND REPLACED BY FORD CO. *TR
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, I HEARD A LOUD POP AND THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WENT CRASHING DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR. HAD IT REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. A FEW DAYS AFTER THE MAINTENANCE WARRANTY ENDED (1YR 2 DAYS)....THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED TO THE SAME WINDOW AND IT HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AGAIN AND ALMOST CAUSED ME TO WRECK. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE ISSUE THAT I AM FINDING OUT ABOUT WITH A LOT OF 2005 FORD VEHICLES. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS ISSUE FORD. *TR
APPROXIMATELY 2 YEARS AGO I PURCHASED A 2005 FORD F-150 EXTENDED CAB TRUCK. I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THE TRUCK UP UNTIL THIS POINT AND MY TRUCK CURRENTLY HAS APPROXIMATELY 67,000 MILES ON IT. HOWEVER, APPROXIMATELY THREE (3) WEEKS AGO I NOTICED MY TRUCK "SPUTTERING" AND "MISSING" AND HAVING SOME DIFFICULTY STARTING. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP (KAMAAINA MOTOR'S) THAT I PURCHASED IT FROM. THE MECHANICS ARE NOW TELLING ME THAT THE SPARK PLUGS BROKE OFF AND FELL INTO THE ENGINE "HEAD". THEY HAVE ATTEMPTED TO RETRIEVE THE PIECES OF THE SPARK PLUGS (TWO AS THEY ARE CURRENTLY REPORTING) BUT THEY FEEL THAT THE IMPACT OF THE SPARK PLUGS FALLING INTO THE HEAD MAY HAVE NOW CAUSED MY MOTOR TO FREEZE UP. AT THIS POINT THEY ARE RECOMMENDING COMPLETE ENGINE REPLACEMENT FOR MY TRUCK WHICH WILL COST THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. I AM DEVASTATED. THIS IS MY ONLY VEHICLE AND I STILL OWE MONEY TO THE BANK TO PAY IT OFF. I DON'T HAVE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO REPLACE THE MOTOR AND I KNOW CAN'T JUST GET ANOTHER LOAN FOR ANOTHER CAR. I HAVE BEEN READING ONLINE ABOUT THIS REPEATED FAILURE ON FORD'S FAULT OF DEFECTIVE SPARK PLUGS AND THAT THIS IS COMMON AND OF NO FAULT OF THE OWNERS OF THE VEHICLES. AT THIS POINT MY TRUCK IS STILL SITTING AT THE MECHANICS AND IS NOT MOVING AND I AM WITHOUT A CAR. IS THERE NOT ANYTHING THAT THE FORD COMPANY CAN DO TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR DEFECTIVE PRODUCTIONS?? I DEVASTATED BY THIS AND HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I AM GOING TO DO TO GET BACK INTO A RUNNING VEHICLE SO I CAN GET TO WORK AND TAKE MY KIDS TO AND FROM SCHOOL. PLEASE HELP????? *TR

THE VEHICLE HAS FOUR NITTO, DUNE GRAPPLER DESERT TERRAIN TIRES, AND LINE SIZE: 285/50/R20.THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES EXHIBITED TREAD SEPARATION AND SPLITTING FROM THE SIDEWALL. THE DEALER WHERE THE TIRES WERE PURCHASED ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE TIRES WERE UNDER RECALL AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE MANUFACTURER .THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THERE WAS NO A RECALL FOR THE TIRES AND WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000 UPDATED 10/04/10

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5-10 MPH AND ATTEMPTING A TURN, THE DRIVER SIDE MIRROR WAS OBSTRUCTING HER VIEW OF ANYTHING ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THE OUTSIDE TRIM OF THE DOOR WAS ALSO OBSTRUCTING HER VIEW OF THE LEFT SIDE WHEN ATTEMPTING A TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
2005 FORD F150 - DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW SUDDENLY FAILED AND FELL DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR. *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND OUT OF NOWHERE! MY DRIVER'S DOOR WINDOW SLID/FELL HARD DOWN INTO MY DOOR FOR NO REASON!! I DIDN'T EVEN HIT A BUMP! NOT SURE IF THE WINDOW BROKE AT THE BOTTOM INSIDE THE DOOR OR NOT. NOW IT WON'T GO UP. UPON LOOKING FOR THE POSSIBLE CAUSE ONLINE, I READ THAT FORD KNOWS THAT THIS IS AN EQUIPMENT DEFECT AND POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE BUT HAS SO FAR REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED ANYWHERE, EVEN IN A MALL PARKING LOT WHERE SOMEONE WOULD HAVE INSTANT ACCESS TO THE INTERIOR. NOT TO MENTION THE SAFETY ISSUES, WEATHER, ETC. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH, THE SPARK PLUGS DISBURSED FROM THE ENGINE AND THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND STALLED. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REPAIRS WOULD BE AT HER EXPENSE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 80,000.
2005 FORD F-150 INJECTOR FAILURE. FORD MOTOR COMPANY WILL REIMBURSE FOR INJECTOR FAILURES THAT ARE "OPENED OR STUCK". THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT ONE OF THE FOUR INJECTORS IN MY TRUCK IS ELECTRICALLY FAILED. THE VEHICLE HAS 53,500 MILES. I CAN'T JUSTIFY PAYING $200 - $300 FOR FAILED INJECTOR. *TR
2005 FORD F-150 WINDOW REGULATOR FAILURE - DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE HEARD A LOUD POP ON THE DRIVER SIDE I THOUGHT SOMETHING HIT MY TRUCK, THE WINDOW FELL INTO TO THE DOOR. ESTIMATED COST TO FIX $420.00 + TAX. AFTER SEEING THE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. RECALL!! RECALL!! *TR
WINDOW FAILURE/FALLING INTO DOOR: 1. NO KNOWN SPECIFIC EVENT, CAR WAS PARKED WHEN FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT HUMAN INTERVENTION. 2. DRIVER SIDE FRONT WINDOW FALLING INTO DOOR AND PASSENGER SIDE REAR WINDOW FAILURE. LUCKILY DRIVER SIDE WINDOW HAS NOT BROKEN/SHATTERED, BUT HAS ONLY FALLEN INTO DOOR AND DID NOT DISTRACT DRIVER WHEN DRIVING IN TRAFFIC. 2A. AFTER INSPECTING EACH WINDOW ALSO FOUND PASSENGER REAR WINDOW IS LOOSE AND FREELY MOVES. 3. DEALER EXPLAINED PROBLEM IS COMMON AND LIKELY THAT IT IS THE WINDOW REGULATOR AND/OR COMPONENTS. DEALER IS CHARGING $450 TO REPAIR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY 2005 FORD F150, THE BACK WINDOW SLID DOWN. MY DAUGHTER PUSHED THE BUTTON TO ROLL IT UP AND A LOUD CRUNCHING SOUND WITH A POP FOLLOWED. THE FUNCTION OF THE BUTTON IS NO LONGER OPERABLE. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS TYPE OF OCCURRENCE HAS HAPPENED, WHICH HAS RESULTED IN APPROXIMATELY $800 IN REPAIRS. THE FIRST TIME WAS OVER A YEAR AGO ON THE DRIVER'S WINDOW. *TR
PRESSING BUTTON TO LOWER WINDOW CAUSED WINDOW TO FALL AND CRASH INSIDE OF DOOR PANEL. SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. *TR
I HAVE OWNED MY FORD TRUCK FOR ALMOST 8 YEARS AND I HAVE EXPERIENCED NOTHING BUT BAD LUCK WITH THIS ENGINE AND ME AND OTHER FORD OWNERS AGREE THAT THIS ENGINE IS 1 OF THE WORST ENGINES THAT FORD HAS PRODUCED AND THEY KNOW IT. AND ARE RELUCTANT TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. AND ITS COSTING ME THOUSANDS TO REPLACE SPARK PLUGS AND CAMPHASERS. MY TRUCK NOW WILL STALL WHEN PUT IN REVERSE. IT ALSO HAS A LOUD TICKING NOISE TO IT. I KNOW ITS THE CAMPHASERS AGAIN WHICH I ALREADY REPLACE ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO.THIS TRUCK IS COSTING ME MORE THAN ITS WORTH. I ONLY HAVE 85000 MILES ON IT. FORD NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. ME AND OTHER FORD OWNERS OF THIS MODEL CANT KEEP SLAMMING MONEY INTO SOMETHING THAT IS A COMPLETE FAILURE FROM THE START. THIS TRUCK IS DANGEROUS AND THE PROBLEM NEEDS SOLVED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F150. WHILE DRIVING AT 5 MPH, THE AIR BAGS INDEPENDENTLY DEPLOYED WITHOUT BEING INVOLVED IN A CRASH. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BRUISES TO HIS LEFT HAND. THE DEALER WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE AND ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED OR INVESTIGATED FOR THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 98,000.
PASSENGER WINDOW IN MY 2005 FORD F-150 FELL INSIDE THE DOOR CREATING A LOUD BANG WHILE DRIVING. CAUSED ME TO JUMP AND PULL STEERING WHEEL TO ONE SIDE NEARLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. INVESTIGATION LED TO A BROKEN PLASTIC CLIP IN THE DOOR THAT RELEASED THE CABLE THAT HOLDS THE WINDOW IN THE UP (OR DOWN POSITION). I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS EVENT. FORD HAS NOT RECALLED THE PROBLEM AS OF THIS DATE. *TR
I BOUGHT TRUCK IN AUG 2008 WITH VIBRATION IN STEERING WHEEL AND THE TIRES WERE CUPPED. I REPLACED THE STRUTS, SHOCKS AND TIRES AND AN ALIGNMENT WAS DONE AT THAT TIME. THE VIBRATION CONTINUED, SO ALL THE ROTORS AND BRAKES PADS WERE REPLACED AND THE PARKING BRAKES ADJUSTED. THE TRUCK STILL SHAKES VIOLENTLY AS IF TIRES ARE OUT OF BALANCE OR ABOUT TO FALL OFF THE TRUCK. I HAVE NOT FOUND A SOLUTION OTHER THAN TO STOP DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND WAITING FOR 15 MINUTES BEFORE DRIVING AGAIN (I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS HELPS, BUT FEEL BETTER DOING SO). AS OF THE LAST OCCURRENCE (NOT TOWING ANYTHING), I NOTICED THE SHAKING BEGIN BEFORE A FUEL FILL-UP AND THEN STOP AFTER THE FILL-UP. I WILL NOTE THE VIBRATION OCCURRED AT THE 3/4 FILL MARK AND CONTINUED UNTIL THE 1/2 FUEL FILL MARK WAS REACHED. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE FOR THE NEXT 1/4 TANK OF FUEL WITH NO INCIDENCE. THE VIOLENT VIBRATION RETURNED AT THE 3/4 TANK MARK AND CEASED UPON REACHING THE 1/2 TANK FILL MARK . THE VIBRATION STOPPED FOR THE NEXT 1/4 TANK AND ONLY MARGINALLY RETURNED UPON REACHING THE FINAL 1/4 FUEL FILL MARK. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG SUDDENLY DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A MILD HEAD INJURY AND A SPRAINED WRIST. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION AND DIAGNOSIS BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT EXPLAIN WHY THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE AIR BAG WAS BEING REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,533. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 122,535.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING WHEN THE AIR BAGS SUDDENLY DEPLOYED. THE PASSENGER SIDE DEPLOYED FIRST AND THE DRIVER SIDE DEPLOYED TWENTY SECONDS LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNKNOWN AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 35,000.
WHILE LEAVING TO GO TO WORK I GOT IN MY TRUCK (2005 F-150) AND STARTED IT. WAITED A FEW SECONDS TO WARM UP THE MOTOR, AND WENT TO PUT IN REVERSE (NEVER PUT INTO GEAR) AIRBAG DEPLOYED. MY RIGHT HAND INCLUDING THUMB AND 1ST FINGER WAS INJURED WITH LACERATIONS. I TOOK PICTURES AND WENT TO FORD DEALER WHILE STILL BLEEDING AND SHOCKED AND STUNNED OF WHAT HAD HAPPENED. DEALER WANTED ME TO PAY OUT OF POCKET 1,300 PLUS SOME DOLLARS OR TO CLAIM ON INSURANCE. INSURANCE WOULDN'T PAY FOR IT BECAUSE THERE NO COLLISIONS. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR ON MY 05 FORD F-150 FAILED IN APRIL OF THIS YEAR, A WEEK LATER THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW BROKE. THE TRUCK WAS JUST PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY, THIS DOESN'T SEEM RIGHT TO ME. I HAVE HEARD MANY STORIES OF THIS HAPPENING TO SO MANY PEOPLE. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS. THIS IS A $400 REPAIR AND SOME OF US CAN'T AFFORD THIS. PLEASE HELP US! *TR
I WENT OUT TO MY TRUCK THIS MORNING , STARTED IT, AND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WENT OFF, BROKE THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. *TR
MY 2005 FORD F-150 FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW FELL INSIDE THE DOOR. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM, FIRST TIME IT WAS MY FRONT DRIVER SIDE WINDOW, THE DEALER REPAIRED IT, IT WAS THE REGULATOR. THIS TIME I DISASSEMBLED THE DOOR PANEL SO I COULD 'ATTEMPT' TO FIX THE PROBLEM MYSELF. UPON LOOKING INSIDE THE DOOR AT THE REGULATOR/MOTOR, ALL I SAW WAS THE CABLE WRAPPED AROUND THE REGULATOR.
POWER WINDOW REGULATOR FAILURE ON 2005 F150. WAS DRIVING AND TRIED TO ADJUST WINDOW AND IT CRASHED DOWN INTO BOTTOM OF DOOR. THE LARGE "CLUNK" WAS VERY DISTRACTING AND STARTLED ME WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED PROBLEM. THERE ARE NUMEROUS ACCOUNTS OF MULTIPLE FAILURES WITH THIS PART. YOU NEED TO PUT THE HEAT ON THESE GUYS TO HAVE THIS PART REDESIGNED WITH BETTER GUTS BECAUSE THERE IS NO DOUBT IT IS A DEFECTIVE DESIGN. [XXX] *TR
WAS DRIVING MY 2005 F-150 ELT ON 4 LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY AT APPROX 65-70 MPH. WHEN APPLIED THE BRAKES FELT SLIGHT PULL TO THE RIGHT. BEGAN SMELLING STRONG ODOR ONCE ENTERED TOWN AND WAS SLOWED TO 35 MPH. DROVE ANOTHER 2-3 MILES TO HOME AND SMELL INTENSIFIED. ONCE EXITED THE TRUCK SAW SMOKE COMING FROM THE DRIVERSFRONT TIRE. FRONT WHEEL WAS ALSO EXTREMELY HOT, WAS UNABLE TO TOUCH IT.
DRIVING DOWN A BUSY DOWNTOWN INTERSTATE, SMOOTH PAVEMENT, BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC AND I HEAR A LOUD POP AND SOUND OF GLASS BREAKING FROM THE LEFT SIDE OF MY VEHICLE. LOT OF ROAD RAGE IN THE CITY I LIVE IN, SO FOR A SECOND I THOUGHT SOMEONE SHOT THRU MY WINDOW SO I REACTED WITH A QUICK SWERVE AND ALMOST COLLECTED THE CAR TO MY RIGHT. AFTER I GOT TO A PLACE TO STOP AND INVESTIGATE THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR GLASS WAS GONE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY MECHANIC AND HE INFORMED ME THE WINDOW REGULATOR HAD FAILED AND LET THE GLASS FALL TO THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR AND SHATTER. I UNDERSTAND FROM INFO FROM MY MECHANIC AND ON THE NET THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR FORD PRODUCTS. I COULD HAVE EASILY COLLECTED THE OTHER CAR IN MY SITUATION AND CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT. NO TELLING HOW MANY HAVE BEEN KILLED BECAUSE OF THIS AND FORD GETS OFF SCOT-FREE BECAUSE THE PERSONS IN THE FORDS IT HAPPENS TO ARE DEAD AND CANT TELL THE WINDOW FALLING CAUSED THEM TO REACT AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. NOW THEIR FAMILYS NOT ONLY HAVE TO DEAL WITH THEIR LOVED ONES DEATH BUT MAY BE DEALING WITH THE FACT THE ACCIDENT MAY HAVE CAUSED OTHER DEATHS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F15O SD TURBO CHARGED. THE VEHICLE HAS MASTER CRAFT 35/12.50/ R17 COURSER CT TIRES, PURCHASED AS REPLACEMENT TIRES. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATE SPEEDS OF 65 MPH, THE TREAD ON THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE TIRE UNRAVELED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE BY RELEASING HIS FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THERE WAS DAMAGE TO THE NERF BAR, DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND FENDER. THE VEHICLE PROCEEDED TO CRASH INTO A ROAD BUMP, CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE PASSENGERS SIDE MIRROR AND FENDER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP WHERE THE NERF BAR, DOOR, FENDER AND MIRROR WERE REPAIRED. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED AT THE EXPENSE OF THE MANUFACTURER. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME MY WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED IN MY TRUCK. I WAS ON THE FREEWAY AND THE REGULATOR POPPED AND THE WINDOW FELL. THIS, ALONE, SCARED ME ENOUGH TO MAKE A JOLT IN MY TRUCK AND SECONDLY CREATED QUITE A PROBLEM WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. IF THE WEATHER CONDITIONS WERE NOT AS GOOD AS THEY WERE, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS PROBLEM. *CN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH IN REVERSE, THE FRONTAL AIR BAG DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARRANT. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED UNKNOWN INJURIES WHEN THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT IF THE CONTACT WAIVED ALL RIGHTS FOR ANY FUTURE CLAIMS THEN THEY WOULD REPAIR THE AIR BAG. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE UNWARRANTED AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT WOULD BE INVESTIGATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 123,757 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I HAVE A 2005 FORD F150 SUPER CREW PICKUP TRUCK. AS DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT HEARD A VERY LOUD CRASH COMING FROM A DRIVERS TO WORK A RAISE MY ARM TO PROTECT MYSELF FROM FLYING GLASS THAT WAS EXPECTING TO CONTACT ME AT MY LOOKED AT THE AND/OR GLASS IT WAS STILL INTACT. THE SOUND STARTLED EVERYONE IN THE CAR AND INCLUDING SMALL CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT. I STOPPED THE CAR AND CHECKED TO MAKE SURE EVERYBODY WAS OKAY WHICH THEY WERE. I HAD TO DISASSEMBLE THE DOOR PANEL SO THAT I COULD GET THE WINDOW AND UP AS IT WAS CHILLY OUTSIDE. THE FOLLOWING DAY I CHECKED ON THE INTERNET TO SEE WHAT WAS INVOLVED AND REPLACING THIS BROKEN WINDOW REGULATOR AND FOUND THAT THIS IS AN EXTREMELY COMMON PROBLEM ON FORD TRUCK'S FROM 2004 - 2008. I CONTACTED THE FORD DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL OR SERVICE BULLETIN. I SUFFERED NO INJURY BUT THE POTENTIAL IS CERTAINLY THERE FOR A VERY LARGE NUMBER OF VEHICLES.
FORDMOTOR COMPANY ON THE 2005 FORD F150 THERE HAS BEEN OVER 1000 COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE ACTUATOR ON THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE THERE IS A VACUUM SWITCH THAT OPERATES THEM WATER RUNS DOWN OFF THE COWL CONTAMINATING THE VAC.LINE CAUSING THE ACTUATOR TO GO OUT THEREWAS A SERVICE BULLETIN PUT OUT SHOWING THAT THEY NEW OF THIS PROBLEM AND DID NOTHING TO CORRECT IT. THE SWITCH CONTROLS THE VAC. TO THE ACTUATOR WITH NO VAC. THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE IS ENGAGE WHEN .TO MAKE IT SIMPLY IT TAKES VACUUM TO DISENGAGE THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE IF YOU ARE GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE SWITCH FAILS WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN YOU WILL RUIN THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE ACTUATORS AND COULD GET INTO OR CAUSE A ACCIDENT. *TR
DRIVER WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED AND WINDOW DROPPED INTO THE DOOR. NO WAY TO GET WINDOW CLOSED WITHOUT REMOVAL OF DOOR PANEL. VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITH NO WINDOW DURING INCLIMATE WEATHER. THERE NEEDS TO BE A COMPLETE REVIEW OF ALL THE FAILS OF THIS SINGLE PART.

WHILE DRIVING TO WORK #5 SPARKPLUG BLEW OUT OF THE BLOCK. WITH THE ENGINE STILL RUNNING FUMES OR GAS VAPORS FROM THE SPARKPLUG HOLE AND THE SPARK FROM THE COIL PACK CAN CAUSE THE ENGINE TO CATCH FIRE OR EVEN EXPLODE!!!! CAUSING BODILY INJURY OR DEATH TO THE OCCUPANT OF THE VEHICLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED HE WAS TRAVELING AT SPEEDS OF 50 MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED. UPON DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD NOT DEACTIVATE AND THE VEHICLE PROCEEDED TO ACCELERATE WITHOUT DRIVER INTENT, CRASHING INTO A STREET SIGN. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO MAINTAIN ACTIVATION OF THE CRUISE CONTROL AND THE CONTACT UTILIZED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IN ORDER TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. THE CONTACT DID NOT REPORT ANY INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS AND THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 23,000. THE CONSUMER STATED HE WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND CONSEQUENTLY, HE DROVE OFF THE ROAD AND HIT A SIGN POST AND SIDE SWIPED THE BACK OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. UPDATED 04/23/10.*JB

THE REPAIR SHOP REPLACED THE FENDER, FENDER EMBLEM, WINDSHIELD, SUN ROOF GLASS, BUG GUARD, LEFT HAND GRILL, UPPER BUMPER COVER. BUMPER BRACKET, FOG LAMP, TWO TAILGATE SCRAPES. A TIRE, 1 STRUT, ONE SWAY BAR AND LINK, ONE LISPH BRACKET, ONE FENDER MOLD, 1 MUD FLAP, ONE LC KNUCKLE, AND ONE LOWER CONTROL ARM. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT STATED NO ONE WAS INJURED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE 86,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 90,061.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPARK PLUGS WERE NOT TORQUED CORRECTLY, CAUSING THE SPARK PLUGS TO BE SPEWED FROM THE ENGINE BLOCK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

THE DRIVERS AIR BAG DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING AT A SLOW SPEED IN A BANK PARKING LOT. THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES AROUND AND THE TRUCK WAS NOT HIT. I HAVE DRIVEN THIS VEHICLE FOR THIRTY FIVE THOUSAND MILES. THE DEALER THUS FAR HAS NOT FOUND A CAUSE FOR THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. THEY HAVE CONTACTED FORD AND THE RESPONSE BACK TO THEM IS IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY AND I SHOULD CONTACT MY INSURANCE COMPANY. *TR
AT JUST OVER 59K MILES ON MY 2005 F-150 5.4L TRITON V8 DRIVING AT 30 MPH I NOTICED A TICKING SOUND THAT INCREASED/DECREASED WITH RPMS. TRAVELING ABOUT 2 MILES FURTHER THE NOISE INCREASED IN VOLUME SO I PULLED OVER AND RAISED THE HOOD. THE NOISE WAS COMING FORM THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE MOTOR AND THE MOTOR WAS SHAKING AS IF MISS FIRING OR RUNNING IRATICLY. I HAD NO ENGINE WARNING LIGHT OR ANY OTHER NOTIFICATIONS ON THE DASH PRIOR. I WENT DIRECTLY TO MY MECHANIC. WHEN MY MECHANIC CAME OUT TO SEE WHAT WAS HAPPENING HE KNEW RIGHT AWAY WHAT WAS GOING ON. HE HAS REPAIRED THIS PROBLEM SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE. HE SAID THAT I HAD BLOWNOUT A LEAST ONE SPARK PLUG. THIS IS A KNOWN FLAW WITH THE TRITON V8 MOTORS OR RATHER THE SPARK PLUG DESIGN THAT WAS PUT IN THE ENGINE FROM THE FACTORY. THE SPARK PLUG IS A THREE PIECE DESIGN THE IS CRIMPED TOGETHER AND ULTIMATELY CRACKS AND SEPARATES OVER A PERIOD OF TIME LEADING TO LITERALLY BLOWING UP. IN SOME CASES THE THREADS IN THE MOTOR WHERE THE SPARK PLUG SCREWS IN CAN BE TORN OUT. THIS REQUIRES RE-TAPPING NEW THREADS OR A HELIOCOIL PACK. THIS ISSUE WAS NOT POINTED OUT TO ME BY FORD PRIOR SO I COULD PREVENT POSSIBLE DAMAGE AND VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR COSTS AS I KNOW THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND THAT IS VERY WRONG. THE MANUAL PROVIDED BY FORD WITH THE TRUCK SAYS THE SPARK PLUGS DON'T NEED TO BE CHANGED UNTIL 100K. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION ONLINE I FOUND HUNDREDS OF OTHERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM PRIOR TO 100K. I WILL BE SENDING THE BILL TO REPAIR MY TRUCK TO FORD THROUGH MY ATTORNEY AS THIS IS NEGLIGENT BEHAVIOR AND A FAULTY DESIGN FLAW THAT I COULD NOT HAVE PREVENTED.
