TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F150. SHE STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH THE VEHICLE FISH TAILED ON AN ICY ROAD. THE BACK RIGHT TIRE HIT A CURB AND CAUSED THE AXLE TO SNAP AND THE TIRE TO FALL OFF OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE AXLE AND TIRE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60000.
1. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD (SNOW AND ICE COVERED) AND WHILE MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN THROUGH AN INTERSECTION MY TRUCK INSTANTLY DIED. WHEN THE TRUCK DIED A LOST POWER SEARING, BRAKES, AND OBVIOUSLY ACCELERATION. THE ENTIRE INTERSECTION WAS BLOCKED FOR 30-45 MIN. DUE TO AN EARLIER SNOW STORM, NO TOW TRUCKS WERE AVAILABLE. 2. THE FAILURE HAPPENED ONCE. WHEN THE FAILURE HAPPENS, THE DRIVER LOOSES ENGINE, BRAKE, AND STEERING POWER. THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM IS A FAULTY FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE. THE PART FAILS BECAUSE IT IS MOUNTED UNDERNEATH THE BED OF THE TRUCK BUT WAS NOT MADE RESISTANT TO ROAD SALT CORROSION. 3. FORD KNOWS ABOUT THIS ISSUE (AND HAS A REPLACEMENT CORROSION RESISTANT PART) BUT THE KIT FOR THIS IS IN SUCH HIGH DEMAND THAT IT IS BACK ORDERED UNTIL THE MIDDLE OF MAY. THE DEALER IS TELLING ME MY TRUCK IS "FIXED" BUT NO ONE IS ABLE TO PROVE I HAVE THE CORROSION RESISTANT PART. THERE IS DOCUMENTED COMMUNICATION BETWEEN FORD AND THE DEALER ABOUT KNOWINGLY INSTALLING THE OLD, DEFECTIVE PART. *TR
THE FOLLOWING INCIDENT HAS BEEN FILED WITH THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY. I WANT TO BE CLEAR THAT THIS INCIDENT WAS NOT THE RESULT OF A FLOOR MAT OR DRIVER ERROR. AT NO TIME DID THE DRIVER HAVE HER FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR NOR WAS THERE AN OBJECT ON, AROUND, UNDER, OR OVER THE ACCELERATOR. INCIDENT: ON 18 FEBRUARY 2010 AT APPROXIMATELY 1230 PM MY WIFE, MOTHER IN-LAW, FATHER IN-LAW AND INFANT DAUGHTER WERE PROCEEDING NORTHBOUND ON WATER TOWER RD. LOCATED IN BENTONVILLE, AR. THERE WERE ZERO DISTRACTIONS INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND MY WIFE WAS FULLY ALERT WITH NO PHYSICAL IMPAIRMENTS. ROAD CONDITIONS WERE DRY AND WEATHER WAS SUNNY WITH GREAT VISIBILITY. AS THEY APPROACHED THE INTERSECTION OF WATER TOWER RD. AND BATTLEFIELD BLVD. AT APPROXIMATELY 5-10 MILES PER HOUR, MY WIFE BEGAN BREAKING. AFTER PLACING HER RIGHT FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, SHE IMMEDIATELY NOTICED/HEARD/FELT/EXPERIENCED INCREASED ACCELERATION AND DECREASED BREAKING POWER DURING HER ATTEMPTS TO STOP. SHE IMMEDIATELY INCREASED PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL ENSURING HER RIGHT FOOT WAS NOT ON THE ACCELERATOR. THE ENGINE CONTINUED ITS EFFORTS TO INCREASE SPEED WHILE MY WIFE FOUGHT TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. THEY PROCEEDED INTO AND THROUGH THE VACANT INTERSECTION AT APPROXIMATELY 5-10 MILES PER HOUR AND FORTUNATELY WITHOUT INCIDENT. MY WIFE'S EFFORTS TO STOP THE VEHICLE CONTINUED BEYOND THE INTERSECTION FOR AN APPROXIMATE 150 - 200 FEET. THE VEHICLE FINALLY CEASED ITS EFFORTS TO ACCELERATE AND CAME TO REST AT THAT POINT. AFTER REGAINING THEIR COMPOSURE, MY WIFE PUMPED THE BRAKES IN EFFORT TO DETERMINE THE MALFUNCTION. UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM AND FEELING COMFORTABLE TO DRIVE AGAIN, THEY PROCEEDED CAUTIOUSLY ONLY TO HAVE THIS HAPPEN ONCE MORE. THIS SECOND OCCURRENCE HAPPENED LESS THAN MILE FROM THE PREVIOUS LOCATION WITH MY WIFE BEING PREPARED FOR THE MALFUNCTION. DURING THIS OCCURRENCE SHE PUMPED THE BRAKES AND STOPPED THE INCREASED REVOLUTIONS OF THE ENGINE IMMEDIATELY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. WHENEVER THE CONTACT ACCELERATED FROM A COMPLETE STOP, THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE WITH A WHINING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION. THE REAR WHEEL BEARINGS WERE REPLACED. THE WHINING NOISE OCCURRED WHENEVER TRAVELING AT A HIGHWAY SPEED RATE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 83,000.
I HAVE HAD TWO WINDOWS STOP ROLLING UP ON MY F150 LARIAT. IT IS A 2005 MODEL. THE TRUCK HAS 43,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME PROBLEM. MUST BE A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. I THINK IF I HAD A TOYOTA, THEY WOULD FIX IT. *TR
2005 FORD F150, 5.4 V-8 ENGINE, 59,000 MILES INCIDENT 1) 02/7/10 - UPON ACCELERATING AWAY FROM A STOP LIGHT WHILE TURNING LEFT, THE TRUCK ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME INACTIVE. TRUCK WAS MOVING AT 25-30 MPH. ADDITIONAL PRESSURE APPLIED TO THE PEDAL CAUSED NO ACCELERATION. LIGHT TRAFFIC ALLOWED ME TO COAST TO SHOULDER WHERE I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK. TRUCK FAULTED INTO 'LIMP MODE' THAT LIMITS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL OPERATION (PER MANUAL), THIS WAS INDICATED BY THE 'WRENCH' LIGHT ON THE DASH, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED. TURNED THE IGNITION OFF, WAITED A ~15 SECONDS AND RESTARTED. UPON RESTART 'WRENCH' LIGHT CLEARED AND ACCELERATOR FUNCTIONED AS PRIOR, AGAIN NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED. INCIDENT 2) 02/12/10 - WHILE DRIVING ON A FEDERAL HIGHWAY AT 55 MPH IN RIGHT LANE THE SAME SEQUENCE AS INCIDENT ONE ABOVE OCCURRED ? THE TRUCK ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME INACTIVE. BEING IN THE RIGHT-MOST LANE I WAS ABLE TO COAST ON TO THE SHOULDER AND AVOID A REAR-END COLLISION. SAME ?WRENCH? LIGHT WAS INDICATED ON DASH, SAME SEQUENCE WAS USED TO RESTART AND DRIVE OFF. THIS OBVIOUSLY COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE HAD THE SITUATION BEEN DIFFERENT, I.E. IN HIGH-SPEED LANE OR HEAVIER TRAFFIC PATTERNS. THIS IS CERTAINLY A SAFETY CONCERN FOR DRIVING PUBLIC, BOTH THOSE IN THE F150 AND ON THE ROAD AROUND THEM. ALMOST IDENTICAL INSTANCES CAN BE SEEN ON NHTSA SITE FOR EXACT MAKE/MODEL/YEAR TRUCK. ADMINISTRATION SHOULD INVESTIGATE AND CONSIDER A SAFETY RECALL TO AVOID FUTURE DAMAGE. *TR
FRONT WINDOW DOES NOT ALWAYS GO UP AND DOWN. AFRAID TO USE THE AUTOMATIC BUTTON AFRAID I WILL NOT GET IT BACK UP. IT HAPPENS ALMOST EVERYTIME I PUT THE WINDOW DOWN NOW. *TR
I HAVE HAD 2 INCIDENTS IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS WITH MY 2005 FORD F150 XLT WITH THE 5.4 V8 AND AUTO TRANS WHERE THE TRUCK HAS HAD THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY FAIL. WHAT HAPPENS IS THE ENGINE GOES TO "IDLE" AND THE TRANSMISSION SIMPLY COASTS. AN ORANGE WRENCH LIGHT INDICATES ON THE DASHBOARD. STOPPING THE TRUCK, SHUTTING OFF ENGINE, THEN RESTARTING THE TRUCK RESTORES OPERATION. AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT, I PHONED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID MOST LIKELY IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY CAUSING THE PROBLEM OR AS A SECOND POSSIBLE PROBLEM AREA, THE POTENTIOMETER AT THE GAS PEDAL. BOTH INCIDENTS HAPPENED ON STATE HIGHWAYS AT LIGHT TRAFFIC TIMES SO I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF ROAD SAFELY AND RESTART VEHICLE TO RESTORE NORMAL OPERATION. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THIS SYSTEM. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THE EARLY MODEL ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS HAD BEEN PROBLEMATIC BUT NO RECALL HAD BEEN ISSUED FOR THEM. IF THIS SYSTEM "FAILS" ON A VEHICLE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON AN INTERSTATE LIKE OUR 285 IN ATLANTA, GA THE RESULT COULD EASILY BE A COLLISION RESULTING IN CERTAIN INJURY IF NOT DEATH. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT ACTIONS HAVE BEEN TAKEN TO REMEDY THIS PROBLEM. THANK YOU. *TR
VEHICLE JUST DIED. THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED. *TR
I PURCHASED A FORD F150 XLT V8 5.4 2WD TRUCK IN JULY OF 2005. SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE REGULATOR FOR THE DRIVER SIDE POWER WINDOW. I JUST HAD THE LAST ONE REPLACED IN OCTOBER OF 08'. IT IS STARTING TO FAIL AGAIN. WHEN I PRESS THE BUTTON FOR THE WINDOW TO GO DOWN, ONCE DOWN IT WON'T COME BACK UP. I HAVE TO PHYSICALLY LIFT THE WINDOW BACK UP. THIS IS A NOTED AND CONSTANT PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. FORD IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE BUT WON'T ISSUE A RECALL OR DESIGN A FIX FOR THE PROBLEM. IN SPEAKING WITH MECHANICS FROM FORD, THIS ISSUE STARTED WITH THE NEW MODEL THAT CAME OUT IN 2004. THE 2005 MODELS ARE PRONE TO THE DEFECT. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO REPLACE THE REGULATOR THREE TIMES IN FOUR YEARS. THIS IS AN OBVIOUS ISSUE TO WHICH I SEE NO RESOLVE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THE MATTER. *TR
VEHICLE STALLED OUT IN THE MIDDLE ON THE FREEWAY AT RUSH HOUR. VEHICLE TOWED TO SHOP AND INSPECTED FOR CAUSE . WAS TOLD THE FUEL PUMP DRIVER MODULE CORRODED UP AND CRACKED IN TWO PARTS AND STOPPED THE FUEL PUMP FROM PUMPING FUEL TO THE FUEL INJECTORS. THE SHOP HAD A HARD TIME BUYING THE PART FROM A FORD DEALER ,THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER AND THE ONE DEALER SAID HE HAD 3 VEHICLES WAITING FOR PARTS. THIS TRUCK WAS RUNNING FINE AND IT JUST QUIT IT WAS NOT A FUN DAY WHEN IT QUIT. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND HEARD A LOUD POP AND THOUGHT SOMEONE HAD SHOT AT MY CAR, IT SCARED ME AND WITH MY RESPONSE SWERVED AND I ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT. LATER AS IT TURNED OUT IT WAS A COMMON WINDOW REGULATOR DEFECT ON FORD TRUCKS AND SUV'S. THEY HAVE BUILT IT WITH THE PURPOSE OF FAILURE AND A HIGH COST TO THE OWNER TO REPAIR THIS AND NO GUARANTEE THAT IT WILL WORK AND NOT FAIL AGAIN SOON. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL TO ALL THOSE FORD'S WITH THIS FAILURE. IT IS GOING TO COST JUST UNDER $400.00 TO FIX WITH NO GUARANTEE. IT IS INDEED A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN IT HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS OR ANYWHERE AROUND ANY OTHER CARS, NOT TO MENTION THE WINDOW DROPPING, WHO KNOWS IT COULD SHATTER AND CAUSE A SEVERE INJURY. *TR
PAINT CHIPPING ON THE VARIOUS AREAS OF THE TRUCK. *TR
WHILE AT ~45MPH, I EASED OFF THE ACCELERATOR TO GO INTO A LEFT HAND TURN. MY F150 THEN LOST ALL POWER AND SHUT OFF (NO POWER STEERING, ETC), AND THERE WERE 2 TRACKER TRAILERS COMING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION FROM ME. I WAS BARELY ABLE TO COMPLETE THE TURN WITH THE MOMENTUM THAT I HAD BEFORE THE TRUCK DIED. THE TRUCK RE-STARTED WITHOUT ANY ISSUE. THIS HAD HAPPENED BEFORE 2 OTHER TIMES WITH LARGE GAPS OF TIME IN BETWEEN (ONCE IN NOVEMBER 09 AND THE OTHER TIME A WEEK BEFORE THIS LATEST INCIDENT). THE OTHER 2 OCCURRENCES WERE SIMILAR (HIGHWAY SPEEDS OF 60MPH), AND RESTARTING WITHOUT ANY ISSUE OR ERROR CODES. AN ERROR CODE WAS GENERATED (FINALLY) WITH THE INCIDENT DESCRIBED AT THE TOP OF THIS COMPLAINT, AND I BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY DIAGNOSED A FAULTY THROTTLE SENSOR WHICH WAS REPLACED. AT LESS THAN 50,000 MILES I DID NOT EXPECT TO SEE AN ISSUE WITH THIS SENSOR, AND CERTAINLY I WOULD EXPECT THE TRUCK TO DEFAULT INTO THE "LIMP HOME MODE" DESCRIBED IN THE MANUAL, WHICH IT DID NOT. THERE WERE SEVERAL OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS FOR THIS ON SOME FORUMS AND I FELT IT MIGHT NEED SOME ATTENTION. *TR
FUEL INJECTIONS. I TOOK MY TRUCK IN FOR A WHISTLING PROBLEM. THEY PUT IT ON THE COMPUTER AND TOLD ME EVERYTHING LOOKED GREAT. NO PROBLEMS . TWO DAYS LATER THE TRUCK WAS IN THE DEALERSHIP BECACUSE OF A SMOKING PROBLEM AND THEY REPLACED FUEL INJECTOR #8. A COVERED SERVICE. FORD WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT DID NOT SEND RECALL NOTICES. ONE WEEK LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, THE TRUCK WENT INTO THE SHOP AND THEY REPLACE FUEL INJECTOR # 1 AND #5. NOW I FIND OUT THAT FORD WILL NOT REPLACE ALL THE FUEL INJECTIONS AT ONCE. ONLY WHEN THERE IS A PROBLEM. I ASKED THEM WHY THE COMPUTER SAID EVERYTHING WAS OK AND THEN ENDED UP WITH THE FUEL INJECTOR PROBLEMS. THEY DIDNT HAVE AN ANSWER. FURTHER MORE THE OTHER FUEL INJECTORS CAN GO OUT AT ANY GIVEN TIME. HOPE IM NOT IN THE MOUNTAINS WHEN THAT HAPPENS.*CW
WINDOW REGULATOR ON 2005 F-150 GOT IN MY TRUCK, CLOSED THE DOOR, AND THE WINDOW FELL INTO THE DOOR. READING ONLINE THIS SEEMS TO BE A HUGE ISSUE. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND COSTLY. *TR
I WAS DRIVING @ 45MPH WHEN ENGINE SUDDENLY STALLED OUT AND LOST ALL POWER, RPMS, AND POWER STEERING. CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS CAME ON, ALONG WITH "CHECK GAUGES" MESSAGE. PULLED OVER, TURNED OFF TRUCK, THEN STARTED UP AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE AGAIN. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. SINCE EVERYTHING IS WORKING AGAIN, IT WONT GIVE A DIAGNOSTIC CODE, SO PROBLEM CANNOT BE FIXED. I HAVE READ ALOT ONLINE OF THIS HAPPENING TO OTHERS, BUT FORD SEEMS OBLIVIOUS TO THE FACT. SOME SAY IT COULD BE A THROTTLE POSITIONING SENSOR. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 F-150 CREW CAB. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED PAST ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SPUTTER AND LOST POWER CAUSING THE CONTACT TO APPLY THE BRAKES TO AVOID A CRASH. THE VEHICLE NEARLY ACCELERATED INTO TRAFFIC WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED A CRASH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
THE DRIVER WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED ON MY FORD F150 TRUCK. THE WINDOW FELL TO THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR WITH NO WARNING. REPLACED REGULATOR. *TR
DRIVING HOME @ (HIGHWAY SPEED 55+) FROM A FAMILY GATHERING. SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. ENGINE LOST POWER. I TRIED TO ACCELERATE. NO THROTTLE RESPONSE. ENGINE STALLED. HAD TO FIND PLACE TO PULL OVER WITH NO POWER STEERING. RETURNED GEAR SELECTOR TO P. TURNED IGNITION TO OFF POSITION. RESTARTED AND COMPLETED TRIP. 50+ MILES. THIS EVENT HAS OCCURRED TWO TIMES. I HAVE BEEN VERY LUCKY THAT I HAD A PLACE TO PULL OVER AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. IF I HAD BEEN ENTERING OR DRIVING IN HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC THIS FAILURE COULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT. YOUR SITE SHOWS A HIGH NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ON THE VEHICLE I OWN, A 2005 FORD F-150, IN WHICH PEOPLE ARE STARTLED WHEN A SIDE WINDOW ON THIS VEHICLE "POPS" LOUD ENOUGH TO BE A GUNSHOT, THEN FALLS INTO THE DOORFRAME. IN READING THEIR COMPLAINTS YOU CAN SEE HOW LUCKY SOME OF THEM WHERE TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. MUCH LESS HAVING TO PAY ~$400. TO HAVE IT REPAIRED BY FORD. THIS CLEARLY IS A DESIGN FLAW THAT SHOULD BE CORRECTED AND PAID FOR BY FORD MOTOR CO. MY QUESTION TO YOU IS, WHY HAVEN'T YOU INVESTIGATED THIS MATTER YET??? *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY EXCESSIVE FORCE TO THE BRAKES AND SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL IN ORDER TO GET THE VEHICLE TO STOP. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND AFTER TWO DAYS OF TESTING, THE DEALER ADVISED THAT HE WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE A FAILURE WITHIN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVEN DURING THE WINTER, ONLY THE SUMMER AND THE CONTACT HAD EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE FOR TWO CONSEQUENT YEARS. AN ENGINEER WAS SENT BY THE MANUFACTURER TO INSTALL A VEHICLE REGISTRATION MARK (VRM) IN THE VEHICLE TO MONITOR THE FAILURE BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE VRM WAS REMOVED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED SHORTLY AFTERWARD. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN, BUT THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 53,000. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IN MY 2005 FORD F-150 WHEN I HEARD A LOUD POP, IT WAS MY DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW THAT JUST GAVE OUT ON ITS OWN. NOW THIS SAME PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED TO MY PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW NEARLY 3 MONTHS AGO. IT A HAZARD FOR THE SIMPLE FACT THAT I DRIVING ON THE ROAD AND IT SPOOOKED THE '!@#$% OUT OF ME CAUSING ME TO SWERVE ON THE OTHER LANES. PLEASE HAVE THIS PART RECALLED IMMEDIATELY. IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME TWICE AND MY OLDER BROTHER ALSO HAS A F-150 AND HIM TOO HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM!!! *TR
WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR FAILURE. MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS CEASED TO WORK DURING A SNOW STORM. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO RETURN HOME WITHOUT ANY INCIDENTS. I WAS ABLE TO CHECK THE FUSE AND SUBSEQUENTLY REMOVED AND TESTED THE MOTOR AT WHICH TIME I FOUND THAT THE MOTOR IS SEIZED. WHILE TRAVELING THROUGH A TUNNEL AT APPROX.55 MPH THE ENGINE ON MY 2005 F-150 WITH A 5.4 LITER ENGINE QUIT RUNNING AT FULL SPEED AND WENT INTO WHAT FORD CALLS LIMP MODE. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO OTHER VEHICLE BEHIND ME OR I WOULD NOT BE HERE TO WRITE THIS. THE TRUCK HAS SINCE THIS INCIDENT QUIT RUNNING ALL TOGETHER SEVERAL DIFFERENT TIMES. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED AND WAS CHARGED $75 TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THEY SAID THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WAS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY AND IT WOULD COST $450 TO REPLACE. FORD KNOWS OF THIS PROBLEM AND WILL DO NOTHING TO REPAIR THE DEFECTIVE PARTS ON THEIR OWN. THE DEALER THAT IS DOING THE REPAIRS SAID THAT THERE ARE 397 OF THESE PARTS ON BACK ORDER, THAT SHOULD TELL THEM SOMETHING! THIS COULD BE A LIFE THREATENING DEFECT THAT THE FORD MOTOR CO. THE COMPUTER WAS NEGATIVE FOR ANY SIGNS THAT WOULD CAUSE THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAG. I DROVE HOME AND OPENED THE DOOR PANEL TO SEE IF THE WINDOW WAS BROKEN AND IT WAS NOT. I CALLED A FORD DEALERSHIP AND HE SAID IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE WINDOW REGULATOR AND THAT THERE WAS A REDESIGN. I ASKED IF THERE WAS A RECALL ON IT AND THEY SAID THAT FORD DOESN'T CONSIDER IT A SAFETY ISSUE AND THEREFORE A RECALL IS NOT REQUIRED. I SAID THAT I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 60 MPH AND MY WINDOW FALLS OUT WITH A LOUD BANG DISTRACTING ME AND BEING 35 DEGREES AND RAINING OUT AND THAT IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE.
