BRAKES FAILED AT LOW SPEED AVOIDING INCIDENT. LOST VACUUM TO BRAKING SYSTEM RESULTING IN STIFF MANUAL STYLE BRAKING. LOOKED ONLINE FOR RECALL AND SAW WHAT APPEARED TO BE THE EXACT SAME THING FOR MY YEAR AND VEHICLE DESCRIPTION. CALLED DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT PART OF THIS RECALL. WELL, IT SHOULD BE. SEAT BELT TENSIONER ON VEHICLE GOES BAD AND AIRBAG LIGHT WILL COME ON INTERMITTENTLY AND STAY ON WHILE DRIVING. PER FORD MOTOR COMPANY AIR BAG MIGHT OR MIGHT NOT DEPLOY IN ACCIDENT WHICH PUTS MY LIFE ENDANGER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE VEHICLE DRIFTED BACKWARD AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CRASH CAUSED NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 96,500.
THE NUMBER 3 SPARK PLUG WAS BLOWN OUT OF THE CYLINDER HEAD. THIS IS THE SECOND OCCURRENCE OF THE SAME SPARK PLUG. THE FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED ON 10/21/2011 AT 82781 MILES. THE FIRST REPAIR WAS COMPLETED BY MIKE NAUGHTON FORD IN AURORA CO. THE MECHANIC INSTALLED A SLEEVE INTO THE CYLINDER HEAD TO REINSTALL A NEW SPARK PLUG. THE MECHANIC EXPLAINED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM BECAUSE THE CYLINDER HEAD ONLY HAS 3-4 THREADS FOR THE SPARK PLUG TO SCREW INTO. *TR
THERE IS A FUEL DRIVE MODULE AND CONTROLS THE ELECTRICAL OUTPUT TO THE FUEL PUMP. OEM PART NUMBER FL8A-9D370-AA. THE MODULE IS MOUNTED TO THE ONE OF THE REAR FRAME CROSSBARS, ABOVE THE SPARE TIRE ON THE F150 PICKUPS. DUE TO THE PLACEMENT AND MOUNTING SALT AND ROAD DEBRIS GET STUCK BETWEEN MODULE AND FRAME AND CAUSE MASSIVE ERODING OF THE METAL HOUSING CAUSING THE MODULE TO FAIL. MY TRUCKS MODULE FAILED AT AROUND 44,000 MILES. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE CURRENT AND THE FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 58,000.

I HAD TO REPLACE ALL OF THE GEARS AND THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE BEARINGS AND SEALS IN THE REAR END - ON A TRUCK THAT HAD 87,000 MILES. EVERY DEALERSHIP I'VE SPOKEN TO HAS TALKED ABOUT THE CHEAP BEARINGS IN THE FRONT AND REAR END ON THESE FORD F-150'S. 18,000 MILES AGO I HAD TO FIX THE FRONT END. *KB
WHILE APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION, ABOUT TO MAKE A RIGHT AT THE LIGHT, (I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 20MPH) ON 12/24/12 (WITH MY TWO CHILDREN AND HUSBAND IN THE TRUCK) THE VEHICLE BEEPS AND IT DISPLAYS "ENGINE SAFE MODE...LOW OIL PRESSURE" THEN THE POWER STEERING CUTS OFF AND THE WHOLE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN! I AM FRANTIC AT THIS POINT BECAUSE I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT IS GOING ON! I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND HAD TO CUT THE CAR OFF AND CRANK IT UP AGAIN. LUCKILY I DIDN'T GET REAR ENDED OR IN AN ACCIDENT. THAT SAME DAY I WENT AND GOT MY OIL CHANGE BECAUSE IT WAS OVER DUE. WELL ON 1/4/13 THE SAME THING HAPPENS AS I AM TURNING INTO THE PARKING LOT OF MCDONALD'S. I GET THE SAME ERROR MESSAGE AS BEFORE, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP, AND TRUCK CUTS OFF! THIS SO EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I LOOKED THIS ISSUE UP ONLINE AND SEE THAT IT APPEARS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE 2006 F-150 AND THE EXPEDITION. MY BOTHER-IN-LAW, WHO ALSO HAS A SIMILAR F-150 TO OURS, SAID THE SAME THING HAS HAPPENED TO HIM TWICE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH IN THE CENTER LANE AND SUDDENLY CRASHED INTO THE PROCEEDING VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED AN INJURY TO THE NECK AND LEFT HAND. IN ADDITION, THE LEFT SIDE OF HER SHOULDER WAS BRUISED. THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A SAVAGE FACILITY. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY WITH THE IMPACT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE AIR BAG MALFUNCTION. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000.
ON THREE OCCASIONS, WHILE PUMPING GAS INTO MY TRUCK, THE FUEL NOZZLE SHUTS OFF AND OVERSPRAYS ON TO THE SIDE OF MY TRUCK. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT 3 DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS. I FEEL THAT THIS COULD BE A FIRE HAZARD AS WELL AS A HEALTH HAZARD IT WERE TO HAPPEN TO AN ELDERLY PERSON. THE PUMP NOZZLE DOES NOT FIT SNUGLY INTO THE FUEL TANK. I THINK IT IS BECAUSE OF THE ANGLE THAT THE FUEL LINE GOING INTO THE FUEL TANK IS POSITIONED, IT ALMOST SEEMS TO STEEP OF A TURN. ALL THREE TIMES THE FUEL BACKS UP INTO THE TANK AND OVERSPRAYS ME IF I'M STANDING CLOSE. I'VE LEARNED NOT TO STAND CLOSE NOW, BUT I STILL GET FUEL ALL ON ME WHEN I HAVE TO HANG UP THE FUEL PUMP, AND FUEL IS ALL ON THE SIDE OF MY TRUCK NOW TOO.... VERY IRRITATING FORD! *TR
THIS IS IN REGARDS TO FORD'S 2006 F150 DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG RECALL. FORD IS REFUSING TO GIVE THE DEALERSHIPS THE KEY TO UNLOCK THE ANTI THEFT BOX THAT THE AIR BAG IS IN TO DO THE SAFETY RECALL. THEY INSTRUCT THE SERVICE TEAM TO "USE A DREMEL TOOL". THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. SERVICE TEAM IS "NOT COMFORTABLE" USING A DREMEL TO FIX THIS. ANY THING DONE LIKE THIS TO THIS VEHICLE WILL VOID ANY AND ALL WARRANTIES!!!! SAFETY RECALL HAS NOT BEEN DONE ON THIS VEHICLE. *TR
ON NOVEMBER 16,2011 I WAS ON MY WAY TO SEE MY MOTHER WHO PASSED AWAY AND WHILE DRIVING IT SOUNDED LIKE A BOMB WENT OFF AND I HAD VEHICLE TOWED AND IT WAS SPARK PLUG ISSUE, THEN TWO YEARS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN, I CHANGED ON PLUGS AND COIL PACKS AT GARAGE, NOW TWO YEARS LATER ANOTHER 3RD PLUG BREAKS INTO ENGINE, NOW IN NEED OF NEW ENGINE. MILES ARE OVER CLASS ACTION SUIT BUT NOT BY MANY. MY TRUCK IS WORTHLESS FOR FORDS LACK OF FIXING THIS ISSUE. I DO HAVE DOCUMENTS TO SHOW. THIS PROBLEM IS A REPEATED ISSUE AND END RESULT FOR THEM NOT TO RECALL ISSUE SOONER HAS ENDED WITH A NONE WORKING TRUCK ENGINE.
POWER STEERING BECOMES 'HARD'. STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY BECOMES STIFF AND DIFFICULT TO HANDLE. HARD TO TURN. CHOPPY WHILE TURNING AND SNAPS BACK IN INCREMENTS INSTEAD OF A SMOOTH, EASY RETURN TO CENTER. FEELS LIKE MANUAL STEERING THEN RETURNS TO POWER STEERING. OCCURS AT ANY SPEED, VERY DANGEROUS AT HIGHER SPEEDS. MAKES THE VEHICLE STEER 'CHOPPY' AND UNPREDICTABLE. HAVE STOPPED USING THE VEHICLE, CAUSES A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHILE DRIVING AND TRYING TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE TRUCK. *TR
SPARK PLUGS ARE ENGINEERED COUNTER SUNK IN HOLES IN TOP OF THE HEADS, WHEN THE PLUGS ARE UNSCREWED THE BOTTOM OF THE PLUG MORE OFTEN THAN NOT BREAKS OFF INSIDE THE SPARK PLUG HOLE. THIS REQUIRES VERY EXPENSIVE TOOLS AND A SKILLED MECHANIC TO EXTRACT. I FEEL THE PART WAS ENGINEERED TO FAIL TO FORCE THE PRICE OF REPAIRS UP. LEADING UP TO THIS WHEN THE PLUGS BEGIN TO FAIL THE ENGINE WILL FAIL WITHOUT WARNING AND WITHOUT THE ENGINE NEEDS SERVICE LIGHT EVER COMING ON. WHEN THIS HAPPENS AND THEIR IS NO PLACE TO PULL OVER YOU HOPE YOUR NOT RAN INTO BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VACUUM HOSE WAS LEAKING AND DID NOT APPLY POWER TO THE BRAKING SYSTEM. THE FAILURE CAUSED EXTREME RESISTANCE IN THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT HAD TO UTILIZE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE VACUUM HOSE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE FAILURE UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 08V208000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC: POWER ASSIST: VACUUM: HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS) BUT THE CONTACT'S VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE WHO OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THE SPARK PLUGS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE VIGOROUSLY AND THERE WAS A STRONG GASOLINE ODOR IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE MECHANIC ADVISED THAT THE FUEL INJECTORS WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.
THE STEERING SHAFT IS SIEZIHG CAUSING THE WHEEL NOT TO CENTER IT SELF AND STEERS HARD . IT DOES NOT SELF CENTER AFTER CORNERING. YOU CAN'T TELL IF YOUR WHEEL IS TURNED ON SLIPPERY ROADS . I CALLED FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND THEY TOLD ME IT'S NOT A SAFETY ISSUE . I'M A LICENSED MECHANIC AND THIS HARD STEERING WOULD NOT PASS A MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY INSPECTION IN OUR SHOP.I THINK FOMOCO SHOULD FIX THIS . AS FAR AS I'M AWARE IT IS ONLY THE 2004-2008 MODEL TRUCKS.

2006 FORD F-150. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO REAR END OVERHAUL BEARINGS REPAIR *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE REAR PINION SEALS WERE REPLACED TWO YEARS AGO. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE QUALITY OF WORK OR THERE WAS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. THE DEALER AND FORD HAVE AGREED TO CUT THE BILL IN HALF TO $650. *JB

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC THAT LOCATED THE FAILURE AS THE NUMBER SEVEN SPARK PLUG HAVING RELEASED FROM THE COIL HEAD CAUSING THE COIL ASSEMBLY TO FAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
UNDER NORMAL OPERATION THE GAS PEDAL STOPS RESPONDING,THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND AFTER ABOUT 30 SECONDS THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF. I HAVE TO STOP , PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK , TURN OFF THE KEY AND RESTART THE TRUCK. THIS RESETS THE COMPUTER AND THE TRUCK SEEMS FINE FOR A WHILE TILL IT HAPPENS AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES MOSTLY ON BACK ROADS. TODAY IT HAPPENED WHILE I WAS ENTERING A BUSY HIGHWAY. I WAS ALMOST HIT BY ON COMING TRAFFIC. *TR
PURCHASED A FORD 2006 F150 LARIAT HARLEY DAVIDSON EDITION FROM A USED CAR DEALERSHIP TOOK VEHICLE OUT FOR A TEST DRIVE AND NOTICED THAT IT HAD A MISSFIRE, DEALERSHIP PROMISED TO REPAIR A COIL WHICH THEY BELIEVED WAS THE ISSUE I WAS SENT TO A REPAIR FACILITY WHICH THE DEALERSHIP HAS ALL THEIR VEHICLES SERVICED. AFTER DIAGNOSING THE ISSUE WAS TOLD THAT THREE COILS WERE BAD AND THREE SPARK PLUGS WERE BROKEN OFF IN THE CYLINDER HEAD WHICH HAD TO BE REMOVED TO CLEAN OUT AND RESURFACED ALONG WITH THE VALVES AND PISTONS AT A COST OF $1,800.00 WHICH MY PURCHASED WARRANTY WOULD NOT COVER OR THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT COVER EITHER, SO AFTER READING NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE LISTED ON SEVERAL COMPLAINT FORUMS WAS WONDERING WHETHER THIS ORGANIZATION HAS TAKEN UP THE ISSUE WITH FORD? *TR
TRANSMISSION JUMPS IN HIGH GEAR WHEN OVERDRIVE IS ACTIVE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO SHAKE EXCESSIVELY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE VEHICLE WAS SAFELY DRIVEN HOME, WHERE IT WAS INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE STEERING SHAFT, CENTER CAPS AND THE CALIPERS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MECHANIC ALSO STATED THAT THE CENTER HUB CAP BURNT DUE TO THE CALIPERS FRACTURING AND DETACHING FROM THE VEHICLE .THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.

THE MECHANIC ADVISED THAT THE SPARK PLUGS HAD SEPARATED FROM THE HOLDER AND CAUSED A PIECE OF THE SPARK PLUG TO PENETRATE THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. POWER STEERING FAILURE, STEERING BECAME HARD AT 10 AND 2, REPLACED THE PS PUMP, PROBLEM STILL EXISTS BUT AT 9 AND 3 NOW, STEERING SO HARD WHILE TURNING THAT IT COULD CAUSE A WRECK. AFTER READING ONLINE THINKING NOW THAT IT IS IN THE STEERING SHAFT. MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME TROUBLE AND SAYS THEY LUBRICATED THE PART AND IT GOT BETTER. I JUST DON'T WANT TO WRECK WHILE DRIVING WITH MY 4 CHILDREN. WOULD TAKE IT TO FORD BUT AFRAID THEY WILL SAY THINGS ARE WRONG THAT ARE NOT...DON'T WANT IT TO TURN INTO A MONEY GIMMICK. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE HAVING A TUNE-UP PERFORMED AT THE DEALER, ONE OF THE SPARK PLUGS BECAME LODGED IN THE CYLINDER HEAD. THE PASSENGER IN MY VEHICLE TRIED ROLLING UP THE WINDOW WHILE AT A STOPLIGHT AND IT WOULD NOT GO UP. THE WINDOW SWITCH WILL WORK TO ROLL THE WINDOW DOWN BUT NOT TO ROLL IT UP. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 11 MONTHS THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW IS DOING THE SAME THING, WILL GO DOWN BUT NOT UP. WITH THE WINDOW STUCK IN THE DOWN POSITION, MY VEHICLE IS NOW EXPOSED TO THE ELEMENTS, RAIN PARTICULARLY, AND I FEAR THE WATER FROM THE RAIN IS GOING TO AFFECT THE REST OF MY DOOR SWITCHES, AND POSSIBLY RUIN THE LEATHER SEATS AND THE POWER FUNCTIONS FOR MY SEATS AS WELL. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE (11S18) FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY FOR AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT ISSUES THAT COULD CAUSE INJURY TO DRIVER. I SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT FOR THIS REPAIR AND DROPPED 2006 FORD F150 AT THE DEALER ON SCHEDULED DATE. THE TRUCK REPAIR COULDN'T BE PERFORMED BECAUSE FORD MOTOR COMPANY DID NOT SUPPLY THE PARTS. I HAVE A HARD TIME GETTING THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER FOR THE DAY AS IT IS MY ONLY TRANSPORTATION AS I WORK 20 MILES AWAY FROM HOME. ON MAY 1,2011 I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD MOTOR CO. FOR RECALL # 11S18 ON MY 2006 F-150 TRUCK. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH MCREE FORD IN DCKENSON, TX. THE NEXT DAY THEY CANCELLED THE SAYING APPOINTMENT STATING THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PART AND WOULD GET BACK TO ME. I TRIED TO RESCHEDULE AGAIN, TO NO AVAIL. I CALLED FORD AGAIN WHO SAID I WOULD BE PUT ON THE PRIORITY LIST. 21/2 MONTHS HAVE PASSED AND STILL NO RESOLUTION. PLEASE HELP TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER. *TR
