I HAVE A 2007 FORD F-150,I HAVE REPLACED TWO VALVE STEMS IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS. I FELT THAT THIS WAS VERY STRANGE. IF I DIDN`T HAVE A WARNING LIGHT I WOULD HAVE PROBABLY WRECK BECAUSE THE TIRE PRESSURE DROP QUICKLY. *TR
I HAD A VALVE STEM FAILURE WHICH LED TO A FLAT TIRE WHILE DRIVING. WHEN I TOOK THE TRUCK IN TO DISCOUNT TIRE TO HAVE IT CHECKED, THEY SAID ALL OF THE VALVE STEMS WERE BAD AND REPLACED THEM ALL. THERE WAS NO COST TO ME AND NO DAMAGE. I SAW THE ARTICLE IN THE PAPER ABOUT IT AND DECIDED TO REPORT IT FOR DATA GATHERING PURPOSES. *TR
I HAVE HAD 3 OF THE 4 TIRE VALVES LEAK 1 HAS LEAKED 2 TIMES SO A TOTAL OF 4 LEAKS OVER THE PAST 3 MONTHS. I HAVE TAKEN THEM TO TIRE REPAIR SHOPS AND ALSO THE FORD DEALER TO FIX. THE DEALER TOLD ME THEY THOUGHT IT WAS BECAUSE OF HARSH CLEANERS. I TOLD THEM I DON'T USE ANY. THE TIRE REPAIR SHOPS TOLD ME THEY THOUGHT IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE VALVES. THE DEALER TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BUT DO A REPAIR AND CHARGE ME THAT IT WASN'T A RECALL OR WARRANTY ISSUE. I HAVE BEEN HAVING WEARING ON MY TIRES DUE TO THESE PROBLEMS. *TR
MULTIPLE INCIDENTS: WHEN VEHICLE SPEED DROPS TO 10MPH OR LESS WHEN BRAKING, BRAKE PEDAL FADES TO FLOOR AND ENGINE ACCELERATES WITH SUBSEQUENT LOSS OF BRAKING POWER. THE LAST INCIDENT NEARLY RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT, THE FIRST 3 INCIDENTS RESULTED IN "ROLLING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION". VEHICLE MILEAGE WHEN FIRST NOTED APPROXIMATELY 14K, NOW NEARLY 16K. *TR
PULLING INTO THE DRIVEWAY OF MY HOME, THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD. I PUSHED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH BOTH FEET AS HARD AS I COULD, BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. THE FRONT TIRES LOCKED, LEAVING SKID MARKS ON THE CONCRETE. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE FRONT WALL OF THE GARAGE, BREAKING THE WALL, BEFORE STOPPING. MY WIFE WAS STANDING IN THE GARAGE AT THE TIME AND WITNESSED THE EVENT. *TR
WE'VE HAD TWO VALVE STEM FAILURES ON A 2007 FORD F-150 TRUCK. THE VALVE STEMS HAD MULTIPLE CRACKS AND CAUSED THE TIRE TO DEFLATE. THE FAILURES OCCURRED HAVE OCCURRED ON BOTH FRONT TIRES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F150. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS. THERE WAS AN EXCESSIVE FORCE APPLIED TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SLOW DOWN AND CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF A PROCEEDING VEHICLE. THE BRAKE PEDAL BROKE AS A RESULT OF THE PRESSURE APPLIED TO IT. THE POLICE AND AMBULANCE WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A MINOR INJURY AND THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED SEVERE INJURIES TO THE NECK AND HEAD. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY ON IMPACT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A COLLISION SHOP AND REPAIRED FOR THE DAMAGES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR THE REPAIR OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM AND REPLACEMENT OF THE AIR BAG SENSOR. IN ADDITION, WHEN PROCEEDING TO MAKE A SHARP TURN THERE WAS A LOUD POPPING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
I HAVE A FORD F-150 4X4 SUPER CREW THAT IS MAKING A ROARING/GRINDING SOUND FROM THE FRONT END. IT ONLY DOES THIS OCCASIONALLY. PRIOR TO STOPPING THE SOUND WILL STOP AND THE TRANSFER CASE WILL MAKE AN ENGAGING SOUND AS THOUGH THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE IS ATTEMPTING TO ENGAGE. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT MAKE THE PROBLEM REOCCUR. I HAVE A FRIEND WITH AN '04 F-150 4X4 AND HIS IS DOING THE SAME THING. *TR
NO EVENTS LED UP TO THE FAILURE. THREE VALVE STEMS HAVE LEAKED AND HAD TO BE REPAIRED/REPLACED TO DATE. THE VALVE STEMS ALL HAD A SLOW LEAK WHICH THEN LED TO TIRES LOSING AIR TO THE POINT THAT THE TIRE HAD TO BE CHANGED TO THE SPARE TIRE, THEN TAKEN TO BE REPAIRED. *TR
WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW. BEFORE IT WAS A YEAR OLD, WE HEARD A KNOCKING SOUND. WE WERE TOLD IT WAS NORMAL. AFTER A COUPLE OF YEARS, THE KNOCKING GOT LOUDER, TOOK IT TO THE DEALER SHIP, THEY SAID IT WAS NORMAL. AS THE YEARS PASSED, WE ASKED OTHER DEALERSHIPS, REPAIR SHOPS, AND THERE WAS NEVER A RECALL. WE WERE ALWAYS TOLD NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT. THE KNOCKING SOUND GOT LOUDER, THE ENGINE WAS BOGGING AND TODAY IT IS IN THE SHOP FOR A NEW ENGINE AND WE HAVE TO COME UP WITH $6,000.00. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS LIKE MINE. WHY IS THERE NOT A RECALL????? *TR
MY 2007 FORD F150 HAS A SEVERE SAFETY FLAW. FOUR TIMES SO FAR, BETWEEN MARCH 2008 AND JULY 2008, THE VEHICLE HAS ACCELLERATED ON ITS OWN WHEN BRAKING TO STOP. THE TRUCK WILL SLOW TO ABOUT 10 MPH THEN SUDDENLY ON ITS OWN THE ENGINE REVS TO 2000 RPMS AND THE TRUCK SURGES FORWARD. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP IT IS TO THROW IT INTO NEUTRAL. THIS ALMOST CAUSED SEVERAL ACCIDENTS . TWO SEPARATE FORD DEALERS WORKED ON THIS PROBLEM BUT BOTH FOUND NOTHING WRONG EVEN THOUGH THE PROBLEM CONTINUES. I E-MAILED FORD ON 7/23/2008 BUT THEY HAVE NOT YET REPLIED. *TR
MY COMPANY PURCHASED THREE FORD F-150 4X4 SUPER CREW TRUCKS AT THE SAME TIME AND ONE OF THEM HAD THE LEFT FRONT HUB BEARINGS FAIL AND THE LEFT WHEEL ASSEMBLY CAME LOOSE AND WAS CAUGHT JUST BEFORE A TOTAL FAILURE. THE SECOND TRUCK (THE ONE I DRIVE) NOW HAS A CLICKING NOISE IN THE LEFT FRONT HUB AND CARTHAGE FORD IN MISSOURI HAS ACKNOWLEDGED IT BUT DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX IT AFTER THREE TRIPS TO THE DEALERSHIP. I AM CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AND I AM ALSO CONCERNED THAT THERE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM THAT FORD WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE IT OR COMMUNICATE IT TO THE DEALERSHIPS IN FEAR OF FINANCIAL RAMIFICATIONS OF A RECALL. BOTH OF THESE TRUCKS ARE DRIVEN ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS AND HAVE AROUND 100 MILES PER DAY PLACED ON THEM SO I THINK WE ARE AHEAD OF MASSIVE FAILURES WHEN THESE 2007 MODELS GET OVER 50,000 MILES ON THEM. *TR
DROVE VEHICLE TO WORK AND PARKED IT, WHEN LEAVING WORK, OPENED DOOR OF VEHICLE AND THERE WAS SMOKE AND FLAMES COMING FROM THE VENT IN DASHBOARD. VEHICLE HAD BEEN IDLE 7 HOURS. *TR
I OWN A FORD -150 SUPER CREW AND I BOUGHT IT IN MAY OF 2007. TWO MONTHS AGO I HAD A VALVE STEM BLOW OUT. I GOT IT FIXED. THIS PAST TUESDAY. I HAD ANOTHER VALVE STEM BLOW OUT. I TOOK IT TO A TIRE REPAIR SHOP AND THE OTHER TWO VALVE STEMS WE'RE DRY-ROTTED. I HAD THEM REPLACE ALL THREE. I BELIEVE THERE IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH FORD PUTTING ON OLD VALVE STEMS. THERE IS NO WAY FOUR VALVE STEMS SHOULD HAVE DRY ROTTED IN 13 MONTHS. *TR

VALVE STEM ON FORD F150 FAILED RESULTING ON A FLAT TIRE ON THE HIGHWAY. OTHER THREE VALVE STEMS ARE CURRENTLY CRACKING. *TR
I PURCHASED A F 150 ONE YEAR AGO. I WENT INTO A STORE ONLY TO COME OUT TO A FLAT TIRE (MINUTES LATER). I TOOK IT TO MINCZ TIRE, AND THE PROBLEM WAS A FAULTY VALVE STEM. THE SAME THING HAPPENED DAYS LATER. ALL OF THE VALVE STEMS ARE CRACKING AND MUST NOW BE REPLACED. LATER THAT WEEK, I SAW A TELEVISION REPORT ON FAULTY VALVE STEMS, SO I DECIDED TO REPORT. *TR
TWO FLAT TIRES ON MY 2007 F-150 BECAUSE OF FAULTY VALVE STEMS. I CALLED THE TOLL FREE NUMBER FOR FORD ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO CHANGE THE TIRES BOTH TIMES. COLONY TIRE OF ELIZABETH CITY REPAIRED BOTH TIRES FOR ME. *TR
LOWER BALL JOINTS WEARING OUT AT 25,000 MILES, UPPER BALL JOINTS GONE AT 50,000 MILES ON A 2007 FORD F150 LARIAT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. WHILE APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED DRAMATICALLY AND A LOUD REVVING NOISE WAS HEARD. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT MUST APPLY EXCESSIVE PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL IN ORDER TO COMPLETELY STOP THE VEHICLE. WHEN THIS OCCURS, THE WHEELS BEGIN TO SPIN. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARDS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,146.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF AT LEAST 65 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD VIBRATE WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD ALSO VIBRATE THE LONGER PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE PEDAL. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ROTORS, STATING THAT THEY WERE WARPED ALSO CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE REPAIR DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 29,000.
2007 FORD F150 WAS LEASED FROM ENTERPRISE LEASING ON MARCH 31, 2008 AT GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA. THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) SHOWED LOW TIRE PRESSURE AT TIME OF LEASE DELIVERY. AGENT FOR ENTERPRISE HAD TIRES INFLATED AT TIME OF LEASE DELIVERY. WAS INFORMED BY ENTERPRISE THAT TIRES AND AIR PRESSURE WERE FINE. ON APRIL 6, 2008 (6 DAYS LATER), THE VEHICLE HYDROPLANED GOING 55 MPH IN 55 MPH ZONE ON STRAIGHT, LEVEL ROADWAY AND CRASHED ALMOST KILLING COMPLAINANT AND WIFE. DISCOVERED UNEVEN TREAD ON TIRES AND DEFECTIVE TIRE VALVE STEM ON FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE. *TR
BRAKE PEDAL WILL FADE TO FLOOR AFTER STOPPING. WILL FADE AFTER HOLDING PRESSURE ON PEDAL FOR A WHILE .NORMAL BRAKING SEEMS TO BE OK. ALSO HAD FRONT, RIGHT CALIPER STICK AND DESTROY THE PAD AND ROTOR AT 29,000 MILES. *TR
2/26/08 SUDDEN ACCELERATION AT STOP LIGHT - LURCHED FORWARD ALMOST HIT VEHICLE TURNING LEFT IN FRONT OF ME. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP....DEALER COULD FIND NOTHING BUT REPLACED FUEL THROTTLE BODY. THE NEXT DAY, I PICKED UP THE VEHICLE, DROVE <30 MILES AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN WHILE AT FULL STOP - HIT VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME...3 INJURIES. *TR THE OCCUPANTS IN THE VEHICLE THE CONSUMER HIT WERE INJURED. UPDATED 07/22/08 UPDATED 03/08/10 THE CONSUMER NO LONGERS OWNS THE VEHICLE. UPDATED 04/07/10.*JB THE COSUMER RECEIVED A DENIAL LETTER FROM FORD, STATING THEY WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSITANCE. I HAVE FORDS 35.6 GALLON TANK, HOWEVER THE SENSOR KEEPS RESETTING TO 28 GALLONS FOR A NORMAL GAS READING. I HAVE HAD IT REPLACED 3 TIMES NOW AND FORD SAYS THE SENSOR IS THE SAME THING WITH A SWITCH THAT NO LONGER WORKS, THE REFUSE TO REPAIR THE GAS SENSOR AND I NEVER HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE IN MY TANK. IT OFTEN CHANGES MID DRIVE FROM A 3/4 TANK TO JUST ABOVE HALF A TANK AND IS NOT STEADY. IT WON'T REGISTER ACCURATELY. THE DEALERSHIP NOTIFIED THE ENGINEERS AND THEY SAID THAT THEY DON'T CARE AND WON'T COME OUT AND FIX IT BUT ITS A KNOWN ISSUE. CAUSING ME TO BE LEFT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH WHAT I THOUGHT WAS GAS, BUT TURNED OUT WAS AN EMPTY TANK. *TR
ENGINE MAKES A RATTLING NOISE UPON SLOWING DOWN/STOPPING/OR STOPPED AND VEHICLE STALLS. *TR
EXCESSIVE OUT-OF-BALANCE VIBRATION WITH 20"PIRELLI SCORPION ATR TIRES ON 2007 F-150 FX4 4X4. HAVE HAD TIRES WHEELS BALANCED- DOES NO GOOD. BOUGHT NEW TIRES AND RIMS, STILL HAVE SAME PROBLEM. FORD SERVICE HAS ADDED PINION ANGLE SHIM KIT- DOES NOT FIX. SERVICE HAS REPLACED 1 ORIGINAL PIRELLI TIRE, AND STATED TIRE WAS OUT OF ROUND. THEY STILL BELIEVE TIRES PROBLEM, AND SUPPOSED TO MEET W/ PIRELLI REP TO HAVE TIRES REPLACED, BUT HAVE WAITED 2 1/2 WEEKS SO FAR. THE NEW TOYO TIRES AND RIMS WERE PUT BACK ON, AND STILL VIBRATION. NOT AS BAD, BUT STILL VIBRATES AT ALL SPEEDS. THERE MUST BE PROBLEM W/ FRONT END OR BRAKES, BUT FORD SERVICE HAS NOT FOUND YET. *TR
SEAT BELT BUCKLE HAS UNLATCHED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AFTER IT SEEMED TO HAVE BEEN LATCHED. I HAVE NOT TAKEN VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER YET. *TR
I OWN A 2007 FORD F150 TRUCK. ON THREE OCCASIONS THE TRUCK ACCELERATED WHEN BRAKING TO A STOP. THE FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED TO MY WIFE AND THE SECOND TO ME. WE EACH THOUGHT THAT IT WAS A FLUKE. THE THIRD OCCURRENCE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING AND WHEN SHE APPLIED THE BRAKE TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN THE ENGINE SURGED AND SHE WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE TRUCK. SHE STRUCK ANOTHER VEHICLE ALREADY STOPPED AT THE STOP SIGN. SHE WAS VERY UPSET. SHE WAS CITED FOR NOT STOPPING WITH ASSURED CLEAR DISTANCE. WE HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT. THE SERVICE PEOPLE SAID THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND GAVE US BACK THE TRUCK. WE TOOK IT TO AN INDEPENDENT GARAGE FOR EVALUATION. STILL NOTHING WAS FOUND. THE TRUCK IS CLEARLY A SAFETY PROBLEM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. THE VEHICLE HAS HANKOOK DYNAPRO AS TIRES, SIZE P235/70R17S. THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WAS REPLACED BECAUSE IT KEPT LEAKING AIR. THREE HOURS AFTER THE TIRE WAS REPLACED, THE CONTACT HAD TO TAKE IT BACK TO BE REPAIRED. THE THREE REMAINING TIRES HAVE BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE SAME LEAKAGE ISSUE. THE SENSOR LIGHT FOR THE TIRES CONTINUOUSLY ILLUMINATES. SPEED WAS NOT A FACTOR. THE CONTACT INTENDS TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER ON MARCH 30, 2008 FOR THE FIFTH TIME CONCERNING THIS FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000. UPDATED 06/17/08. *LJ IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE VALVE STEM WAS BAD.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F150. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CONTACT SWERVED TO MISS A DEER AND THE VEHICLE FLIPPED OVER. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. HE WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL AND WAS TREATED FOR A CONCUSSION, BUMPS, AND BRUISES. HE BELIEVES THE VEHICLE MAY BE DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT HAS PICTURES, IF NEEDED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 12,000.
I HAD FILED A COMPLAINT #10229285 AND NOTHING HAS BE RESOLVED TO DATE I READ OTHERS HAVE HAD SIMILAR COMPLAINTS AND ALL RELATED TO FORD. *TR
TRUCK HAS A ROUGH IDLE ISSUE SINCE 6K. I NOW HAVE 30K. THE PROBLEM HAPPENS WHEN THE TRUCK IS STARTED COLD SOMETIMES IS VERY BAD ENGINE SHAKE, ALSO WHEN IDLING AT A STOP LIGHT ENGINE SEEMS TO SHAKE. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON EVEN WHEN THE TRUCK IS RUNNING SO BAD IT SEEMS LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL. I HAVE HAD IT AT THE DEALER MANY TIMES AND THEY CAN'T FIND A PROBLEM THEY SAY BECAUSE NO TROUBLE CODES SHOW IN THE COMPUTER OR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON. *TR
EXCESSIVE OUT-OF-BALANCE VIBRATION WITH 20"PIRELLI SCORPION ATR TIRES ON 2007 F-150. THE INTERNET IS FULL OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. MY SERVICE FORD DEALERSHIP SAYS THERE IS A TSB THAT EXPLAINS THAT THIS CONDITION FOR THE "FIRST 20 MILES FROM REST" IS NORMAL. THAT'S HARDLY ACCEPTABLE. MY MILEAGE IS JUST UNDER 12,000 AND MY TIRE WARRANTY IS SOON EXPIRED. THEY HAVE REBALANCED THE TIRES 4-5 TIMES DURING THIS PERIOD. *TR
IN JULY 2007, I PURCHASED A NEW FORD F150 PICKUP TRUCK. IN DECEMBER 2007, 3 TIMES IN ONE DAY I DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE TRUCK ACCELERATED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I RAN A STOP SIGN, BUT LUCKILY DID NOT HIT ANYTHING. I IMMEDIATELY RETURNED THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP, BUT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. I CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE TRUCK WITH NO PROBLEMS UNTIL JANUARY 2008, WHEN AGAIN 3 TIMES IN ONE DAY, I DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE TRUCK ACCELERATED. AGAIN, I RAN A STOP SIGN, BUT DID NOT HIT ANYTHING. NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. ONE TIME I PUT THE TRUCK IN NEUTRAL AND WATCHED THE TACHOMETER GO UP TO 4000 RPMS AS THE ENGINE REVVED. I AM ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN I DID NOT HAVE MY FOOT ACCIDENTALLY ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FOR ANY OF THESE INCIDENCES. I RETURNED THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. THEY INSTALLED A "BLACK BOX RECORDING DEVICE" AND DROVE THE TRUCK FOR 3 DAYS, BUT STILL COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. THE VEHICLE WAS REBUILT. THE IGNITION KEY BECOMES STUCK IN THE IGNITION AFTER THE VEHICLE IS PARKED, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. THE BRAKES ONLY OPERATE NORMALLY AFTER DRIVING TWO MILES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 6,300.
PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG TURNS OFF. OCCASIONAL PROBLEM, HAS BECOME CONSTANT PROBLEM. WIFE WEIGHS 100 LB+. NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH ANY OTHER CAR,DO NOT HAVE THE PROBLEM WITH OUR 09, SMART CAR. ONE DEALER SAID SHE DOESN'T WEIGH ENOUGH,ANOTHER SAID,BAG WILL STILL DEPLOY BUT NOT AS HARD. THINK IT IS A SENSOR IN THE SEAT ,WHEN THE LIGHT SAYS BAG OFF, MEANS NO PROTECTION, AND IT WILL NOT DEPLOY. HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY,SOME TIMES RE CONNECTING THE SEAT BELT CORRECTS IT BUT ONLY FOR A WHILE. JUST COMPLETED 3,000 MILE TRIP ACROSS COUNTRY, BAG OFF LIGHT WAS ON MOST OF THE TIME. DIDN'T SEEM TO MATTER HOW THE WIFE POSITIONED HER SELF,THIS IS NOT A WEIGHT/SIZE ISSUE,BUT A FAILURE OF A SAFETY DEVICE. IS IT AN '07' ISSUE?*TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH. WHEN THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF. HE ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHIFTS OUT OF GEAR AND LOCKS WHEN PLACED IN REVERSE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS CATASTROPHIC TRANSMISSION FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE WAS DEFECTIVE. I RECENTLY BOUGHT A NEW 2007 FORD F-150 4 WHEEL DRIVE. THE VEHICLE HAD P275/65R18 TIRES. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW DOT CAN ALLOW A P TIRE, DOT APU9AU612407, TO BE INSTALLED ON A 7700 GVW VEHICLE THAT WILL BE USED OFF ROAD UNDER MAX LOAD. THE P TIRES ARE FOR PASSENGER CARS AND WILL NOT STAND UP UNDER HEAVY OFF ROAD USE. THE TIRES SHOULD BE LT RATED. MY PREVIOUS TWO NEW F-150 4 WHEEL DRIVES HAD LT TIRES FROM THE FACTORY. I AM TOLD THAT NOW THEY ARE ONLY INSTALLED ON F-250 TRUCKS. I BELIEVE THE P TIRES CONSTITUTE A SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUED MOVING. HIS VEHICLE REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO HIS LEFT KNEE AND HEAD. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED A SHOULDER INJURY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 8,000.
UPON STARTING VEHICLE AFTER "COLD START" VEHICLE KNOCKED AND SPUTTERED, AT TIMES VEHICLE STARTER SOUNDED TO LIKE IT WAS STICKING TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHO COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. DEALER ADVISED THE PROBLEM COULD BE CAUSED BY AFTER MARKET OIL FILTER. NEW OIL FILTER WAS PLACED ON VEHICLE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED TO APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH WITHOUT WARNING WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY UNINTENTIONALLY DEPRESSING THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR PEDALS SIMULTANEOUSLY. HE ALSO FELT THAT THE MANUFACTURER DESIGNED THE BRAKE PEDAL TOO CLOSE TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS MOUNTED TOO HIGH. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON TWO OTHER OCCASIONS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SHOES HE WORE CAUSED THE FAILURES. AS OF NOVEMBER 21, 2007, THE DEALER HAD NOT REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. 2007 FORD F-150 SUPER CAB BUILT IN DEARBORN. PASSENGER SIDE/RIGHT SIDE OF WINDSHIELD WIPER COWL RUBBING ON HOOD AND CAN NOT BE ADJUSTED. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION NOTICED PASSENGER SIDE/RIGHT SIDE OF FRONT BUMPER FORWARD 1/2 INCH WHEN COMPARED TO LEFT. THE AREA WHERE THE HOOD AND PASSENGER FENDER JOIN THE CAB HAS BEEN MIS-WELDED 1/4" AT THE FACTORY ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP. UPON FURTHER RESEARCH I HAVE NOTICED SEVERAL OTHER VEHICLES OF THIS MODEL AND 2007-2008 YEARS BOTH HAVE SIMILAR ISSUE, THOUGHT NOT AS NOTICEABLE AS MY VEHICLE. SOME ARE IN TOLERANCE AND MAY BE ADJUSTED ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP, SOME ARE OUT OF TOLERANCE (AS IN MY CASE) AND SINCE CAN NOT BE ADJUSTED WILL BE PURCHASED BACK BY THE MANUFACTURER. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 FORD F150. ON MY KEY RING, I ALSO HAVE A GM KEY. ON THREE OCCASIONS, WHEN I HAVE INSERTED MY F150 KEY, THE GM KEY HAS WEDGED ITSELF BETWEEN THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE STEERING COLUMN. THE F150 STILL STARTS AND I CAN PUT IT IN GEAR AND MOVE IT. HOWEVER, THE ENGINE UNEXPECTEDLY TURNS ITSELF OFF AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS. AFTER STOPPING THE VEHICLE, I'VE REALIZED THAT THE GM KEY WAS LODGED IN BETWEEN THE STEERING WHEEL AND STEERING COLUMN. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN MY DRIVEWAY THREE TIMES AT SPEEDS LESS THAN 3 MPH. TRUCK BEGAN TO SHAKE AND STALL SUDDENLY. TOOK TO FORD DEALER WHO SAID THAT DUE TO 7,000 MILE GAP IN OIL CHANGE, SENSORS THAT REGULATE TIMING CHANGE GUMMED UP. NEEDED OIL CHANGE. DEALER PERFORMED. 3 DAYS LATER, VEHICLE ACTED UP AGAIN. TOOK BACK TO DEALER. DEALER TORE APART ENGINE, THEN COULDN'T START ENGINE AT ALL! THEY CALLED FORD MANUFACTURER WHO INFORMED THEM THAT COMPUTER FAILED TO TELL ENGINE TO PUMP OIL. ALL SYSTEM PARTS THEN FAILED AND ENGINE BLEW! VEHICLE ONLY 6 MONTHS OLD. AFTER READING SIMILAR ISSUES ON MYCARSTATS.COM, I FIGURED I SHOULD ENTER MINE TOO. ENGINE WOULD SUDDENLY RACE AT VERY HIGH RPM. MY VEHICLE IS A STANDARD SO I WAS ABLE TO NEGATE ACCELERATION BY DEPRESSING CLUTCH. THIS HAPPENED TWICE WITHIN 1 MONTH PERIOD. THE SECOND TIME I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY INDICATED THEY WERE GOING TO UPDATE CHIP WITH LATEST UPGRADE. WHEN I PICKED UP VEHICLE, I WAS INFORMED THAT MY VEHICLE HAD THE LATEST UPGRADE AND NO ACTION WAS TAKEN. THERE HAS NOT BEEN A REPEAT OF THIS SINCE THOUGH. *TR
