My airbag warning light came on. The dealer found 2 codes and replaced the parts. When they were done another code came up for weight sensor which is the seat frame. I was told that the part has been discontinued. I have searched for an aftermarket part with no luck. I purchased a used seat but it was not compatible I have a16 year old truck. The service life is as I understand it is 14-20 years. I don’t understand how the manufacturer can stop making safety parts while the vehicle is still in its service life
AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UPON SIDE IMPACT FROM DRIVER GOING 40-50MPH AND AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY FOR FRONT IMPACT INTO POLE. I WAS CROSSING INTERSECTION HAS THE LIGHT TURN GREEN AND WAS HIT BY A DRIVER WHO RAN RED LIGHT. THE CAR PUSH THE TRUCK INTO A LIGHT POLE AND THE ENGINE BAY WRAP AROUND IT.
PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED AS THE PASSENGER AIRBAG BEING OFF EVEN WHEN THERE IS SOMEONE SITTING IN THE SEAT.
THE PROBLEM WAS IDENTIFIED FROM THE FORD DEALERSHIP AS A SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER ISSUE. I AM NOT SURE WHAT THAT DEVICE DOES FOR THE AIR BAGS ASSEMBLY, BUT I FEEL THAT FORD SHOULD HAVE REPLACE THIS FREE OF CHARGE; REGARDLESS OF THE YEAR OF THE TRUCK OR THE MILES ON THE TRUCK. THE PRICE WAS ALSO EXTREME FOR THAT PART. $372.18 JUST FOR THE PARTS. I PAID AN TOTAL OF $631,.65 FOR THIS ISSUE. FORD CASE NUMBER# CAS-16048449-G3B4MI
SEAT BELT MECHANISM IN THE DRIVERS SIDE, REAR DOOR FAILS TO RECOIL BACK THEREFORE, THE MAIN MECHANISM AT THE BOTTOM TWISTS AND I AM NOT ABLE TO EXTEND THE SEAT BELT SAFELY UNLESS I REOPEN THE DOOR AND UNWIND THE SEAT BELT (THIS HAPPENS BEFORE I PUT MY TRUCK IN MOTION AND SOMETIMES I DO NOT REALIZE IT IS TWISTED UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND UNTWIST THE SEAT BELT).....ALSO, THIS HAS CAUSED THE RUBBER/PLASTIC PIECE ALONG THE SIDE OF THE FLOOR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE TO TEAR, EXPOSING WIRES, WHICH ARE ALSO A SAFETY ISSUE.
WE WERE DRIVING ON A FM ROAD IT WAS PITCH BLACK THAT NIGHT AND CAME UP A HILL AND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WAS A BIG BLACK COW, I SWEREVED TO TRY AND MISS IT AND NOT HIT IT HEAD ON BUT CLIPPED ITS BEHIND ON THE RIGHT FRONT QUARTER PANEL, THE NEXT THING I KNOW THE CAB IS FULL OF SMOKE AND SMELLED LIKE WIRES BURNING, SO I GO TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND KILLED IT MADE SURE EVERYONE WAS OK AND WENT TO THE ER TO GET MY CHILDREN CHECKED OUT, UNKNOWN WHY THEY FAILED TO DEPLOY

WHILE ON VACATION MY 13 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER WAS LYING DOWN AND HAD HER SEAT BELT AROUND HER WHEN SHE SAT UP THE BELT BECAME LOCKED AND WE WERE UNABLE TO RELEASE IT. I TRIED TO GET IT TO RELEASE BUT IT TIGHTENED EVEN MORE. MY HUSBAND THEREFORE HAD TO CUT THE SEATBELT TO GET HER OUT AS IT HAD TIGHTEN TO THE POINT THAT HER STOMACH WAS SQUEEZED SO TIGHT IT WAS MAKING HER CRY. I THOUGHT AT FIRST IT WAS BECAUSE SHE HAD BEEN LYING DOWN. NOW THE OTHER SCENARIO IS ON AUGUST 12, 2010 MY SEAT BELT WAS BECOMING UNCOMFORTABLE SO I WENT TO PULL IT DOWN, IT LOCKED AND I HAD TO UNHOOK IT TO GET IT TO RELEASE AND THAT TOOK SEVERAL TRIES. I HAVE NOT FIXED THE SEAT BELT. I AM ALSO REPORTING THIS IN CASE ANOTHER PERSON SHOULD HAVE A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE. THE VEHICLE IS A 2009 FORD F 150. FOR THE RECORD THIS WAS TWO DIFFERENT INCIDENTS. TL* THE CONTACT ALL OWNS A 2009 FORD F 150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AS SHE APPROACHED A TRAFFIC LIGHT A VEHICLE CRASHED INTO HER AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. SHE ALSO CRASHED INTO THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HER WHICH CAUSED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT AND REAR END OF HER VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR FACILITY. THE CONTACT AND THE PASSENGER WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL WITH MINOR INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT IS AVAILABLE IF NEEDED. THE WEATHER WAS NOT A FACTOR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
THE DESIGN OF THE SHOULDER BELT IN THE REAR OUTBOARD SEATS ON THE 2009 FORD F150 SUPERCREW IS FLAWED. MY WIFE IS 5' 1" TALL AND THE SHOULDER BELT CUTS ACROSS HER NECK AT A POSITION THAT IF WE WERE IN AN ACCIDENT IT WOULD DEFINITELY INJURE HER NECK. THE BELT IS ANCHORED TOO HIGH ON THE SIDE PILLAR OF THE TRUCK TO ALLOW ANYONE LESS THAN ABOUT 5'4 TO SIT COMFORTABLY WITH IT ON. I HAVE DIGITAL PHOTOS OF MY WIFE SITTING THE REAR SEAT WITH THE SHOULDER BELT AS IT FITS ON HER. IF YOU WISH I WILL SEND THEM ON AS I SEE NO WAY TO ATTACH THE PHOTOS TO THIS FORM. IN TEXAS THE LAW NOW REQUIRES ALL RIDERS TO HAVE THE BELTS FASTENED. YET MY WIFE MUST PUT THE SHOULDER BELT BEHIND HER TO AVOID INJURY OR JUST FOR COMFORT SAKE. *TR

THE FAILURE WAS IGNORED BUT THE VEHICLE WAS EVENTUALLY TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED FORD DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO FAILURE CODES OBTAINED FROM A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE CONTACT STATED THE FAILURE WOULD RECUR INTERMITTENTLY WHENEVER THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS OCCUPIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 11,600.
