I TURNED MY TRUCK ON AFTER IT SAT OVERNIGHT AND THE ABS AND EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH CLUSTER. TOOK THE TRUCK INTO A LOCAL PART STORE AND HAD A OBD2 READER HOOKED UP AND IT PULLED ABS CONTROL MODULE CODE. I TOOK INTO A AUTO SHOP AND THEY WERE PULL THE CODE AND DECIPHER WHAT THE ACTUAL PROBLEM WAS. THE ABS CONTROL MODULE COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING.
THE RIGHT FRONT FLEXIBLE BRAKE LINE DETERIORATED AT THE CRIMPED FITTING. THE DETERIORATION IS ON THE INSIDE OF THE LINE AT THE CRIMP. THE DETERIORATION ACTS LIKE A CHECK VALVE ALLOWING THE APPLICATION OF THE BRAKE BUT NOT RELEASE OF BRAKING PRESSURE. I HAVE VERIFIED THIS ON THREE (3) REPLACEMENTS. THE ORIGINAL LINE WAS REPLACED AT ABOUT 120K AND NON OEM AT ABOUT 20K.
MICHELIN HAD A SAFETY RECALL FOR DOT B99Y 56EX 3812-2113 OF ITS LTX M/S P275/55R20 111T FOR "AFFECTED TIRES COULD HAVE PARTIAL OR FULL SIDEWALL PERFORATIONS THAT COULD CAUSE THEM TO EXPERIENCE LOSS OF AIR PRESSURE ' I PURCHASED THE LTX M/S P275/55R20 DOT B79Y 56EX 1913 MADE IN THE SAME TIME FRAME FOR MY 2009 FORD F-150 ON 06/08/2013. ON AUGUST 23, 2016, WHILE ON A 70MPH HIGHWAY, I SUFFERED A BLOWOUT. THE ENTIRE ANTERIOR SIDEWALL WAS AFFECTED WITH MANY CHUNKS OF THE TIRE MISSING, WHILE THE INTERIOR SIDEWALL WAS TOTALLY UNAFFECTED. I AM CAREFUL WITH MY TIRE PRESSURES AND ROTATION. NONE OF THE TIRES SHOW UNEVEN OR ODD WEAR. I DON'T BELIEVE I RAN OVER ANYTHING. I HAVE ALL FOUR TIRES IN MY POSSESSION AND AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION. I THINK MICHELIN HAS A GREATER PROBLEM THAN THE DOT RANGE OF THEIR VOLUNTARY RECALL. I THINK THE DOT NEEDS TO BE AWARE OF THIS SO THAT IF THIS PROVES TO BE A MORE WIDESPREAD PROBLEM, MICHELIN CAN BE REQUIRED TO RECALL ALL AFFECTED TIRES.
THE SIDE WALL OF TIRES WITH APPROXIMATELY 30,000 MILES AND 4 YEARS OLD ARE PEALING OFF. I PURCHASED 4 TIRES WHEN THE VEHICLE HAD A LITTLE OVER 30000 MILES. 2 WERE OK. THE OTHER 2 THE SIDEWALL PEALED OFF IN CHUNKS. I HAVE PICTURES OF THE TIRES.MICHELIN OFFERED 65% DISCOUNT ON NEW TIRES A YEAR AGO. 11 MONTHS AND 10,000 MILES LATER THEY OFFERED ONLY A 22% DISCOUNT. THEY INDICATED I USED UP 43% OF THE TIRE LIFE IN 11 MONTHS AND 10,000 MILES.
EMPLOYEE WENT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND THE SHOP FOUND A 3 INCH CRACK IN THE SIDE WALL OF FRONT LEFT TIRE.
I TOOK MY 2009 FORD F-150 INTO LES SCHWAB FOR A TIRE ROTATION AND THEY POINTED OUT THAT ALL FOUR OF MY HANKOOK DYNAPRO ATM LT285/55-20 RF10 TIRES WITH DOT # T7VWRFH4510 HAVE APPROX. 1-1 1/2" CRACKS AROUND THE ENTIRE TIRE WHERE THE TREAD MEETS THE SIDEWALL. THE TIRES HAVE APPROXIMATELY 28,000 MILES ON THEM AND STILL HAVE AGGRESSIVE TREAD LIFE. LES SCHWAB RECOMMENDED REPLACING AND DID NOT HAVE AN ANSWER AS TO WHY/HOW THIS OCCURRED. *TR
MICHELIN TIRES CRACKING IN THE TREADS ON ALL TIRES. MICHELIN NOT FOLLOWING THEIR PUBLISHED WARRANTY IN PRO-RATING FOR ADJUSTMENT. TIRES WITH 58 TO 67% TREAD LEFT AND MICHELIN RELUCTANTLY AGREED TO A 35% ADJUSTMENT. DEALER AND CUSTOMER WERE TOLD "IF THE CRACK CANNOT BE SPREAD OPEN AND SEE LINING, IT IS A COSMETIC CRACK". *TR

ON 5/2/12 I WENT TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER IN MANAHAWKIN, NJ TO ADVISE OF CRACKING TIRES. THESE TIRES HAD ONLY 19000 MILES AND WERE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT ON MY 2009 FORD F150. THEY ADVISED ME TO CONTACT PIRELLI TIRE COMPANY. ON 5/4/12 I CONTACTED PIRELLI TIRE COMPANY VIA EMAIL AND EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM. THEY ADVISED ME TO GO TO A LOCAL PIRELLI DEALER TO HAVE THEM INSPECTED. ON 5/8/12 I WENT TO SBR TIRE EXCHANGE IN MANAHAWKIN, NJ TO HAVE THEM INSPECTED. THEY CONFIRMED THE CRACKING PROBLEM AND THAT THE TIRES HAD 8/32 OF TREAD LEFT AND THE TIRES COME WITH 12/32 NEW. THEY THEN CONTACTED PIRELLI. PIRELLI OFFERED 60% TOWARD A NEW SET OF PIRELLI TIRES. AT FIRST THIS SOUNDED REASONABLE UNTIL I WAS ADVISED THAT THE TIRES WOULD BE SOLD AT LIST PRICE OF $399.95 EACH BEFORE THE DISCOUNT. THIS CAME TO 791.50 AFTER THE 60% DISCOUNT WITH MOUNTING AND TAX ADDED. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS KNOWING THE TIRES CAN BE PURCHASED FOR A SIMILAR PRICE WITHOUT THE DISCOUNT AND SAME SIZE COMPARABLE BF GOODRICH TIRES FOR LESS. PIRELLI HAS CLEARLY NOT STOOD BEHIND A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT THAT APPARENTLY HAS A COMMON DEFECT IN THAT MODEL TIRE. THEY ARE FORCING ME TO PURCHASE NEW TIRES AFTER ONLY 1/3 WEAR, YEARS BEFORE THEY ARE NEEDED BECAUSE I AM IN FEAR FOR MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OTHERS. ## VIN PASSED ## FORD F150 2009 ##. *TR
WHILE DRIVING 2009 FORD F150 AT FREEWAY SPEED THE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL SEPARATED. WHEN THE WHEEL SEPARATED IT MADE HEAVY CONTACT WITH THE BRAKE CALIPER AND SOME CONTACT WITH THE UPPER A-ARM OF THE SUSPENSION CAUSING VEHICLE TO MOMENTARILY LOOSE CONTROL, CROSSING LANES OF TRAFFIC. FORTUNATELY THE ROADS WERE RELATIVELY UNOCCUPIED AND THERE WAS NO COLLISION. THE WHEEL HAD NO PREVIOUS DAMAGE AND HAD NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN ANY PREVIOUS ACCIDENTS. THE TIRE MOUNTED ON THE WHEEL HAD APROX 800 MILES OF USE. FORD CURRENTLY HAS THE WHEEL AND WILL BE INSPECTING THE VEHICLE IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS. I ASSUME THAT REPLACEMENT OF THE WHEEL, TIRE, BRAKE CALIPER ANT PMS SENSOR WILL BE NECESSARY. *TR
I HAVE AN 09 F150. MY PROBLEM IS WITH THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS). IT KEEPS INDICATING A TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR FAULT. I TOOK IT TO ONE FORD DEALER AND THEY REPLACED 3 OF THE WHEEL SENSORS. I WENT ON A 1600 MILE TRIP AFTER THAT AND I CONTINUED TO GET TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR FAULT. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER FORD DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT THE PREVIOUS FORD DEALER HAD INSTALLED THEM INCORRECTLY. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. AFTER CONSULTING WITH THE ORIGINAL DEALER WE DETERMINED THAT THEY INSTALLED CORRECTLY. I WAS TOLD THAT FORD NOW SAYS THAT CERTAIN ELECTRONIC DEVICES LIKE CELL PHONES AND GPS'S MAY INTERFERE WITH THE SYSTEM. MY TRUCK HAS HAD THE PROBLEM WITH NO GPS OR CELL IN THE CAB. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ON FORD'S TPMS SYSTEM I FOUND THAT THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE FORD STARTED USING IT. ON ALL MODELS WHETHER CAR OR TRUCK PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME "TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR FAULT" ERROR SHOW UP. I FEEL FORD SHOULD RECALL THERE ALL VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THIS SYSTEM AND HAVE THEM REPLACED WITH A SYSTEM THAT IS RELIABLE. THE MANUAL SAYS THAT WHILE THE SYSTEM IS IN ERROR MODE THAT THE SYSTEM MAY OR MAY NOT WORK. I THINK THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE WHILE I DO NOT RELY SOLELY ON THE SYSTEM TO MONITOR TIRE PRESSURE I'M SURE THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO DO AND OTHERS WHO COULD HAVE A TIRE GOING DOWN AND MAY NOT KNOW IT UNTIL ITS TO LATE. MY MOTHER IN LAWS 05 EXPLORER HAS THE SAME SYSTEM WITH THE SAME ERROR MESSAGE. FORD NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. *TR

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH HE SLIGHTLY TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO DRASTICALLY VEER TOWARDS THE DIRECTION IN WHICH HE SLIGHTLY TURNED THE WHEEL. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO RECUR; THEREFORE, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER 5 TIMES WHERE HE HAD THE FRONT END ALIGNED. SINCE THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO RECUR, THE TIRE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE TIRES ON THE VEHICLE WERE PASSENGER VEHICLE TIRES INSTEAD OF TRUCK TIRES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,000.

VEH CURRENTLY HAS 5965 MILES (SEE REPORT 10307412 AND 10311415)(FS ID 1235) USDA FOREST SERVICE GWJEFF COMPLETED A FLEET WIDE INSPECTION OF ALL FORD VEHICLES WITH STEEL WHEELS. THIS IS THE 5TH INCIDENT OF THIS NATURE. I CURRENTLY HAVE 10 RIMS FROM VARIOUS VEH AFTER BEING REPLACED BY FORD TECHNICIANS. RECOMMEND FORD INITIATE A RECALL ON STEEL WHEELS TO DETERMINE IF THIS IS A FLEET WIDE PROBLEM. *TR
TIRE BLOWOUT BRAND: HANKOOK MODEL: DYNAPRO AS MADE: KOREA DOT: T79C PJNH 4008 I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH THESE TIRES, WHILE DRIVING HOME MY FRONT TIRE BLEW OUT ON MY 2009 FORD F150 TRUCK CAUSING ME TO HIT THE SIDE MEDIAN WHICH THEN CAUSED MY TRAILER TIRE TO BLOW OUT AND BENT MY TRAILER TIRES RIM AS WELL. WHEN THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED MY TRUCK ONLY HAD A LITTLE OVER 3000 MILES ON IT. I TOOK IT TO MY FORD DEALER AND THEY ARGUED THAT SOME ONE CUT IT. WHEN I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER TIRE SHOP BEFORE THEY EVEN LOOKED AT IT THEY SAID THAT THE RIM ON THE TIRE HAD CAUSED THE CUT. AND IT INDEED WAS FORDS FAULT. I REPLACED THE TIRE AND BOUGHT A NEW ONE FROM DISCOUNT TIRE. SAME BRAND SAME MODEL SO IT WOULD MATCH. TODAY ON JAN 14 2010 I TOOK MY TRUCK IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION, WHEN THEY ROTATED MY TIRES THE NEW TIRE I BOUGHT HAD A MASSIVE BALL ON THE INSIDE OF IT. THE NEW TIRE ONLY HAD 3000 MILES OF WEAR. THESE TIRES ARE THE STOCK TIRES THAT FORD HAS BEEN USING ON THEIR F-150 SERIES SINCE 2007 AND PROBABLY LONGER. I HAD A SET OF THESE TIRES ON MY 2007 F-150 AND AT 9000 MILES THEY STARTED FORMING BALLS ON THE TIRES, AND THE FRONT TIRES BEGAN TO CUP OUTWARD. BOTH TRUCKS I HAVE PURCHASED FROM SPIKES FORD IN MISSION TEXAS. WHEN I PURCHASED MY VEHICLES THEY CAME WITH TIRE ROAD HAZARD WARRANTY WHEN I TOOK IT TO FORD THEY TOLD ME IT WAS MY PROBLEM AND WOULD NOT COVER ANYTHING. IN MY OPINION THESE PROBLEMS ON TWO SEPARATE VEHICLES TWO YEARS APART ARE A FIRESTONE HAZARD IN THE MAKING. I LIKE FORD VEHICLES BUT WHEN SOMEONE STARTS PUTTING MY LIFE AND OTHERS IN DANGER I CANT TOLERATE THAT.
