SEVERAL TIMES MY FORD F150 WILL SUDDENLY NOT START AND HAS LEFT ME STRANDED NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. ONE MECHANIC SAID IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP SO I REPLACED THAT. HOWEVER, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. UPON RESEARCHING THE INTERNET, I DISCOVERED THE FUEL PUMP RELAY MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. I TOOK THE REAR DEFROSTING RELAY AND PLACED IT IN FOR THE FUEL PUMP RELAY AND THE TRUCK STARTED. HOWEVER, SEVERAL DAYS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN. IN ORDER TO MOVE MY VEHICLE, I HAVE USED SEVERAL DIFFERENT RELAYS TO GET THE TRUCK TO START AND IT'S WORKED UP UNTIL YESTERDAY. I'VE BOUGHT NEW ONES AND IT STILL WOULDN'T WORK. UPON FURTHER RESEARCH, I DECIDED TO CHECK THE FUEL PUMP FUSE AND IT WAS MELTED TO THE FUSE BOX. THIS MADE ME LOOK UP RECALLS AND TSB NO. 15-0137 SEEMS TO BE APPLICABLE. HOWEVER, WHEN I SEARCH MY VIN, MY VEHICLE IS NOT LISTED UNDER THE RECALL. I BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE.
WEATHER WAS 28 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. LEAVING WORK I TURNED ON MY REAR GLASS DEFROST AND ON MY 20 COMMUTE TO MY HOME ABOUT 1 MILE FROM MY HOUSE AT AROUND 4:20 AM CENTRAL STANDARD TIME MY REAR PASSENGER SIDE BACK GLASS SHATTERED. ALL I HEARD WAS A LOUD IMPACT SOUND LIKE SOMETHING HITTING MY ROOF AND WHEN I PULLED UP TO MY HOUSE AND FURTHER INSPECTED MY VEHICLE THAT IS WHEN I NOTICED MY REAR GLASS HAD SHATTERED AND WAS STILL CRACKING. I LOOKED FOR AN IMPACT MARK BUT FOUND NOTHING. BED OF TRUCK WAS EMPTY SO ONLY CONCLUSION IS THAT THE REAR DEFROST MAY HAVE GOT TO HOT WITH COLD GLASS BUT I REALLY DO NOT KNOW.
WHILE DRIVING, SUDDENLY ALL WARNING LIGHTS BEGAN FLASHING RANDOMLY, RADIO AND 4 WAY FLASHERS WENT ON. AFTER TURNING OFF THE TRUCK AND REMOVING THE KEY, THE PROBLEMS CONTINUED AND THE ENGINE WOULD NOT RESTART. TOWED IT TO A DEALER. THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS A BAD "SMART JUNCTION BOX", AND REPLACED "D MODULE".
REAR GLASS SHATTERED WHILE DRIVING, THERE WAS NO OBJECT THAT IMPACTED THE GLASS. REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER WAS ON WHILE IT SHATTERED. OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS 45F.
2010 F-150 WAS PARKED OVERNIGHT IN A RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY IN FREEZING TEMPERATURES. WHEN THE TRUCK WAS STARTED AT ABOUT 7 AM THE TEMPERATURE WAS AROUND 15 F. THE TRUCK WAS STARTED AND ALLOWED TO IDLE FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES. WHEN THE DRIVER ENTERED THE TRUCK THE REAR DEFROST WAS STARTED. WHILE THE TRUCK WAS STILL PARKED AND ABOUT 1 MINUTE AFTER THE DEFROST BUTTON WAS HIT THERE WAS A LARGE POP. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE DRIVER'S SIDE PANEL OF THE REAR WINDOW HAD SHATTERED. THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF ANYTHING STRIKING THE WINDOW, AND THERE HAD BEEN NO VISIBLE DEFECTS TO THE WINDOW PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT. THE CAUSE APPEARS TO BE RELATED TO THE DEFROST BEING ACTIVATED IN THE COLD TEMPERATURE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL DETATCHED FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE ROAD SHOULDER, PUSHED THE STEERING WHEEL BACK IN, AND DROVE TO THE RESIDENCE. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO BOLTED THE STEERING WHEEL BACK TO THE COLUMN. HERTRICH FORD (9617 OCEAN GTWY, EASTON, MD 21601) WAS CONTACTED BY PHONE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO HEADQUARTERS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2010 FORD F-150 AND MY BRAKE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR NO WARNING AT ALL, THANKFULLY NO ACCIDENT BUT WAS VERY SCARY, WASN'T VERY FAR AWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED SO WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME SAFELY.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE VEHICLE HAS VERY ROUGH SHIFTS, AND NOT ONLY THAT BUT WHILE STOPPING OR ACCELERATING AFTER A STOP AND THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN STATIONARY FOR SMALL TIME, THE VEHICLE JERKS WITH A ROUGH SHIFT. ALSO WHILE TRYING TO DRIVE AT AN ACCELERATED SPEED ON A HIGHWAY SUCH AS 55-70 THE VEHICLE BEINGS TO SHAKE MORE SO THE TRANSMISSION AREA AS THOUGH THE GEARS ARE NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY, AND AS THIS OCCURS MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON.
WAS DRIVING MY F-150 TO WORK ON A CITY STREET AT A LOW SPEED LESS THAN 35 MPH WHEN THE TRUCK STALLED. IT COASTED TO WORK, WHEN I GOT OFF I PUT OIL IN IT AND IT STARTED AND DROVE NEARLY HOME. ONCE I GOT HOME ALMOST TO MY DRIVEWAY THE VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN. I OPENED THE HOOD AND NOTICED THERE WERE ISSUES WITH SPARK PLUG NUMBER 2. I REPLACED IT AND NOW THERE IS A HOLE IN THE PISTON AND A DROPPED VALVE. THIS VEHICLE IS NEEDING A WHOLE NEW ENGINE. DIAGNOSED BY DIERS FORD. VEHICLE NOT REPAIRED.
DASH LIGHTS GO OUT WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING, ALSO ALL GAUGES ON DASH GO TO 0 (LIKE WHEN THE TRUCK IS SHUT OFF) AND THE A/C COMPRESSOR AND BLINKERS STOPS WORKING, THE FAN CONTINUES WORKING. THE ENGINE,BREAKS, HEADLIGHTS CONTINUE TO WORK. SOMETIMES IF YOU HIT THE DASH WITH YOUR FIST EVERYTHING WILL RETURN TO WORKING CONDITION. GOOD LUCK FIGURING THIS OUT BECAUSE FORD DEALERSHIP CAN'T.
MY 2010 FORD F-150 DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR FAILURE TO UNLOCK THE DOOR HANDLE COULD ALLOW THE DOOR TO OPEN FROM THE INSIDE HANDLE ARE OUTSIDE HANDLE.THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE.IAM A RETIRED SOLDIER THIS IS MY RETIREMENT GIFT TO MY SELF FOR 32 YEARS OF SERVICE.BUT THIS HAPPENED DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING.SO I NEED TO SEE IF IT A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. THE NORMAL CAMSHAFT PHASER ISSUES ARE OCCURRING. LOUD KNOCKING, VIBRATING WHILE IDLING, AND GENERAL RATTLING FROM THE MOTOR WHEN THE TRUCK ISN'T ABOVE 1000 RPM'S. WHILE THIS MAY NOT DIRECTLY CAUSE ACCIDENTS, IN INTENSE RATTLING AND KNOCKING CAN CAUSE OTHER ISSUES TO ARISE WHICH IN TURN CAN CAUSE MAJOR SAFETY CONCERNS FOR THE NHTSA. IF FORD DOESN'T DECIDE TO TAKE ON THIS ISSUE AND REPAIR IT, THEN IT CAN BE EXPECTED THAT EVERY 3 VALVE FORD MOTOR MADE SINCE 2005 WILL EVENTUALLY SUCCUMB TO THESE MAJOR ISSUES. AS WE ALL KNOW FORD HAS HAD ISSUES DESIGNING MOTORS IN THE PAST, PRIMARILY THE 6.0, 6.4 AND 5.4 MOTOR THAT I CURRENTLY OWN, BUT IT IS TIME FOR FORD TO STEP UP AND HANDLE THE MECHANICAL PROBLEMS THAT THEIR DESIGNERS NEGLIGENCE CAUSED. IT IS NOT TOO MUCH TO ASK THAT AN AUTO MANUFACTURER STANDS BY THEIR PRODUCT AND REPAIRS OR REPLACES THE FAULTY PART WHEN THE TIME COMES. ADDITIONALLY IN THE PART YOU WHEREIN YOU ASKED FOR THE DATE OF THE INCIDENT, I WILL PUT THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE BUT PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS ISSUE IS REOCCURRING AND YOU SHOULD EXPECT KNOCKING AND VIBRATION EVERY TIME YOU DRIVE.
POWER STEERING OUT - FLUID LEAK UNDER HOOD - IN DRIVEWAY
IT WAS SNOWING AROUND 6PM ON 11/11/2019 AND I BEGAN TO DRIVE. AS SOON AS I LEFT THE DRIVEWAY I TURNED ON THE REAR DEFROST. I GOT 1 MILE DOWN THE COUNTRY ROAD AND CAME UP TO A STOP SIGN. I STOPPED, AND JUST AS I RELEASED THE BRAKE TO BEGIN TO TAKE OFF, I HEARD A LOUD "POP" SOUND. SO THE GLASS BREAKAGE HAPPENED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS JUST BEGINNING TO ROLL FORWARD. WHEN I HEARD THE POP, IT SCARED ME, AND I HIT THE BREAK AND PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK. I LOOKED BACK TO SEE WHAT HAD CAUSED THE NOISE AND SAW THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR WINDOW HAD SHATTERED. IT WAS STILL INTACT, BUT THE GLASS WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED. A FRIEND OF MINE HAD TOLD ME THAT THIS HAPPENED TO HIS 2011 F150 ALSO. SO ON 11/12/2019 I CALLED MY INSURANCE REP AND STARTED ALONG THE PATH TO GETTING IT FIXED. I NEED IT FIXED QUICKLY AS MY DAUGHTER'S CAR SEAT SITS IN THE REAR PASSENGER SEAT AND I DO NOT WANT TO TAKE A RISK OF HER BEING CUT BY THE BROKEN GLASS. I THEN CALLED SAFELITE AUTOGLASS. I SCHEDULED AN APPT FOR 11/18/2019 (EARLIEST THEY CAN GET ME IN). I WENT TO SAFELITE ON 11/12/2019 TO GET THE WINDOW CRASH WRAPPED. THE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT HE COULD NOT DO THE CRASH WRAP AS THERE IS NOTHING FOR THE WRAP TO HOLD TO. HE ALSO TOLD ME THE TINT IS DOING A BETTER JOB HOLDING THE WINDOW TOGETHER THAN HIS WRAP COULD. HE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT IT WAS ODD THAT IT BROKE AND THAT HE DID NOT BELIEVE IT SHOULD HAVE SHATTERED LIKE IT DID. THE MANAGER ALSO LOOKED OVER THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE WINDOW AND NOTED HE SAW NO SIGNS OF DAMAGE. HE RECOMMENDED THAT I CALL A FORD DEALERSHIP AND SEE IF THERE IS A RECALL. I CALLED THE LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NO SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THE WINDOW AND THERE WAS NOTHING FURTHER THEY COULD DO. THE DEALERSHIP THEN GAVE ME THE NUMBER FOR FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY ALSO SAID, THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AS FORD HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS.
SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY ON NOV 8TH, 2019 I STARTED UP MY 2010 FORD F150 PICKUP. I SAT IN THE TRUCK WHILE IT WAS WARMING. WE HAD FROST THE NIGHT PRIOR SO I TURNED ON THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER. NOT LONG AFTER THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE BACK WINDOW SHATTERED. IT SOUNDED LIKE AN EXPLOSION. VERY SCARY. THE GLASS STAYED INTACT PRETTY MUCH BUT IT WAS ALL CRACKED. AFTER I PULLED MYSELF TOGETHER, AS I WAS TOTALLY UNPREPARED FOR SOMETHING OF THIS NATURE TO HAPPEN, I WAS PRETTY SHOOK UP. I DROVE TO MENARDS TO GET SOME PLASTIC TO TAPE IT UP. AS I DID THE PIECES OF THE WINDOW STARTED FALLING OUT, BOTH ON THE INSIDE AND THE OUTSIDE. THERE WAS GLASS EVERYWHERE. I TOOK MY TRUCK TO MANLEY MOTORS IN BELVIDERE , ILLINOIS WHERE THEY DOCUMENTED IT, AND ALSO FILLED OUT A FORM AND SUBMITTED TO FORD CORPORATE. I ALSO CALLED THE FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE AND SUBMITTED A CLAIM. THE CLAIM NUMBER IS CAS24904981. MY 2010 FORD F150 IS OUT OF WARRANTY BY YEARS. NOT BY MILEAGE. I ONLY HAVE JUST OVER 50, 000 MILES ON IT. IT IS LIKE BRAND NEW STILL. THERE IS NOT A SCRATCH ON IT. IN FOLLOW UP WITH FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE I WAS TOLD IT WILL NOT BE COVERED UNTIL NHTSA PROVIDES A RECALL FOR IT. THE LADY I SPOKE TO WAS WELL AWARE OF THE BACK WINDOWS BEING SHATTERED IN THESE PICK UP. FROM 2009 UP TO AND INCLUDING 2016. ITS UNFORTUNATE BECAUSE IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER MY INSURANCE. I AM ON SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY, 61 YEARS OLD AND SINCE THIS REPAIR FOR PARTS AND LABOR IS NEARLY $1100.00 IT IS NOT IN MY BUDGET. IT WILL HAVE TO BE TAPED WITH PLASTIC FOR QUITE A WHILE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WITH THE REAR WINDSHIELD DEFROSTER ACTIVATED, THE CONTACT SUDDENLY HEARD A LOUD POP SOUND. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE REAR WINDOW PANEL BEHIND THE PASSENGER SEAT HAD FRACTURED THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE PANEL, BUT REMAINED INTACT. THE CONTACT EXAMINED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE TRIM THAT SURROUNDED THE WINDOW HAD MELTED SLIGHTLY FROM EXCESSIVE HEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,554.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESTART AFTER FUELING THE VEHICLE AT A FUEL STATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AUTONATION FORD PANAMA CITY (730 WEST 15TH ST, PANAMA CITY, FL 32401) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE 20 AMP FUSE NUMBER 27 WAS OVERHEATING AND NEEDED TO BE RELOCATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
AS I WAS DRIVING TO WORK THIS MORNING WITH MY REAR DEFROST ON - MONDAY 10-21-2019 AROUND 7:30 AM ON THE SAME HWY I TAKE EVERYDAY, I NOTICE SMOKE COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE BACK WINDSHIELD, AS THINK IN MY MIND WHAT THE HELL I NEED TO PULL OVER TO CHECK IT OUT, ALL OF A SUDDEN A LOUD BOOM GOES OFF AND MY BACK PASSENGER SIDE WINDSHIELD EXPLODES..AFTER COLLECTING MYSELF I STOP TO CHECK IT OUT AND NOTICE WHERE THE SMOKE IS COMING FROM, AS I'M LOOKING AT MY BACK GLASS I NOTICE THE SMOKE IS COMING FROM THE OUTSIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD AROUND THE RUBBER GASKET, IT WAS LITERALLY MELTING. I ALSO HAVE A VIDEO WHERE YOU CAN HEAR THE CRACKING/ MELTING OF THE BACK WINDSHIELD

AFTER RESEARCHING THE INTERNET, THE CONTACT READ THAT THE SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT OF THE CYLINDER HEAD DUE TO A LACK OF THREAD IN THE CYLINDER TO HOLD THE SPARK PLUG UNDER PRESSURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. FREEDOM FORD LINCOLN INC (151 WOODLAND DR SW, WISE, VA 24293, (866) 680-5107) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.
THE TWO DRIVESHAFTS THAT CONNECT TOGETHER WITH THE CENTER BOOT BROKE APART WHILE DRIVING. LUCKILY WHEN THIS HAPPENED I WAS ONLY TRAVELING 3 MILES AN HOUR. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED, EITHER HAVE A ONE PIECE DRIVE SHAFT OR THE SLEEVE SHOULD BE BETTER SECURED. I FEEL THAT IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHILE I WAS TRAVELING ON THE EXPRESSWAY, MY FAMILY AND OTHERS COULD HAVE BEEN IN SERIOUS DANGER
2010 F-150 REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW SHATTERED FOR NO APPARENT REASON WHILE BACK INTO MY NEPHEWS DRIVEWAY
INSIDE DRIVERS DOOR HANDLE BROKE AT THE SPRING NOT OPENING. I WAS TRYING TO EXIT THE VEHICLE AND WITHOUT WORKING I WAS TRAPPED. I HAD TO ROLL THE WINDOW DOWN, REACH OUTSIDE AND USE THE HANDLE TO OPEN. I EXITED THE VEHICLE ROLLED UP THE WINDOW
THE TRUCK DRIVER HEATED SEAT WIRES OVERHEATED AND BEGAN TO CATCH FIRE. THE WIRES MELTED AND CAUSED THE EXCESSIVE HEAT TO CATCH THE FOAM AND FABRIC TO BURN. THE HEATED SEATS WERE NOT TURNED ON AT THE TIME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD F-150. UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE ENTIRE SUBFRAME OF THE VEHICLE HAD EXPERIENCED SEVERE RUSTING AND CORROSION. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER AND INTERSTATE FORD (125 ALEXANDERSVILLE RD, MIAMISBURG, OH) WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WATER WAS LEAKING INSIDE THE VEHICLE FROM THE THIRD WINDOW AND THE MIDDLE BRAKE LIGHT WAS FULL OF WATER. ADDITIONALLY, THERE WAS BLACK MOLD IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO REMOVE THE MOLD, BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. ALSO, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED ELDER FORD OF TAMPA (9560 N FLORIDA AVE, TAMPA, FL 33612, (813) 321-1234) AND INFORMED THEM OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
MY PASSENGER SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE HAS JUST FRACTURED, EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED IN YOUR NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID # 11V0490000. THIS WAS A RECALL OF APPROXIMATELY 300,000 2009 AND 2010 F 150'S. WHEN I ENTER MY VIN ON YOUR SITE IT DOES NOT COME UP, HOWEVER I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS CONDITION. PERHAPS MY PRODUCTION DATE FALLS OUTSIDE OF THE RECALL DATES, HOWEVER MY TRUCK HAS THE EXACT SAME SAFETY ISSUE, AND ONLY HAS 18,000 MILES ON IT. COULD YOU PLEASE ADVISE ME HOW TO PROCEED, AS I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THIS CORRECTED BY A FORD DEALER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THANK YOU.
TAKATA INFLATORS. I WAS DRIVING BACK FROM CHARLOTTE WHEN MY TRANSMISSION GOT STUCK IN FIRST GEAR BE. AT 3000 TO 4000 RPMS AND WON'T GO DOWN AT 40 AND 50 MILES.I WAS IN MOTION AT THE TIME IT WAS AROUND 7:30 TO 8PM. AND IT STILL STUCK IN 1ST GEAR. IT START ON A CITY STREET AND I HAD TO DRIVE HOME ON A HWY AND IT WAS STILL GO RMPS AT 3000 TO 4000 AT ANY WERE FROM 40 TO 50 ON THE HIGH WAY. I DON'T WANT TO PUSH IT WITH MY TRANSMISSION.

ON MY TRUCK THE PASSENGER SIDE EXHAUST MANIFOLD HAS RUSTED AND THE REAR BOLTS HAVE RUSTED OFF. THIS HAS CAUSED THE MANIFOLD TO LEAK RIGHT AT THE EXHAUST PORT. THIS LEAK FILLS THE CAB OF THE VEHICLE WITH EXHAUST FUMES. IT IS ALSO LEAKING PRE-CATALYST EXHAUST. THE FUELS IN THE CAB ARE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND WELL AS AN EMISSIONS ISSUE. RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET SHOWS THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON FORD TRUCKS OF THIS ERA. TALKING TO FORD ABOUT THIS THEY OFFER A VERY SMALL DISCOUNT ON THE SERVICE IF I HAVE IT DONE AT THE DEALER. I HAVE HAD TRUCKS FOR YEARS AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM LIKE THIS BEFORE. MY TRUCK IS A 2010 FORD F150 WITH 106,000 MILES ON IT.
THIS MORNING (8/5/2019) MY REAR DRIVER-SIDE WINDOW SPONTANEOUSLY SHATTERED, AGAIN. THERE WAS NO IMPACT (I HAVE A CAMPER SHELL ON THE VEHICLE). I WAS TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ON SMOOTH TERRAIN. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS OCCURRED. THE FIRST TWO WERE SIMILAR IN NATURE: THE FIRST ONE WAS WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON SMOOTH SURFACE STREETS AND THE REPAIR WAS DONE UNDER WARRANTY; THE SECOND WAS WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND THE DEALERSHIP WAS WILLING TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. IN EACH CASE, I HAD TO (AND WILL HAVE TO AGAIN) PAY TO HAVE MY CAMPER SHELL REMOVED AND STORED WHILE THE REPAIR TAKES PLACE.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. UPON INSPECTION, FUSE #27 BURNED OUT INSTEAD OF BLOWING. THIS FUSE CONTROLS THE FUEL PUMP, AND WHEN IT BURNED UP THE FUEL PUMP LOST POWER AT HIGHWAY SPEED. UPON RESEARCH IT IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 2009-2014 YEAR MODELS AND FORD ISSUED A TSB BUT NOT A RECALL. I HADN'T KNOWN ABOUT THIS WHEN PURCHASING THE TRUCK USED, AND IT IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.
THE FPDM WAS GOING BAD. THE TRUCK WOULD SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. TWICE IT DIED WHILE TURNING AND I COULDN'T STEER. ONCE ALMOST HAD ME IN THE BACK OF A PARKED CAR. THIS COST ME OVER 300 DOLLARS TO FIX. IT'S ONLY GOING BACD BECAUSE THE ARE MOUNTED TO THE STEEL GRAM AND THE ALUMINUM BACKING ON THE FPDM IS PITTING AND WATER IS GETTING IN. THIS PROBLEM ALSO MADE IT DIFFICULT TO START, AND MESSED WITH MY MPG.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,500.
WHEN YOU PRESS THE WINDOW DEFROST BUTTON THE RIGHT PANEL OF THE REAR GLASS OVERHEATS AND SHATTERS. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE NOW WHEN LEAVING THE HOUSE. TAKATA RECALL: MY 2010 FORD RAPTOR WITH THE 6.2L MOTOR HAS BEEN HAVING A WRENCH LIGHT COME ON AND I HAVE HAD TWO QUOTES STATING THE NEUTRAL POSITION SENSOR OR TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR IS BAD. I'VE NOTICED THAT MANY RECALLS HAVE BEEN MADE ON THE FORD F-150 MODELS STARTING IN 2011-2014. WITH MY VEHICLE BEING PRODUCED MID YEAR OF 2010. I FEEL MY VEHICLE IS PART OF THAT RECALL. BUT DOESN'T SHOW IN ANY SYSTEMS. MY VEHICLE WILL STAY STUCK IN A CERTAIN GEAR OR NOT START AT ALL. 2010 Ford F-150, 2 of my doors cannot be opened due to a defect of components in the handles. Ford does have a recall affecting the the same situation as mine, but according to my VIN# my vehicle is not included. This could be a deadly situation if needing to exit the vehicle through those doors. I will attach a copy of the recall and of my door handles.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER ISSUED TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN NUMBER: 15-0137 REGARDING THE FAILURE. CHILDRE FORD (1207 S HARRIS ST, SANDERSVILLE, GA 31082, (478) 552-8200) WAS CONTACTED AND ORDERED A PART SPECIFICALLY FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DEVELOPED A SPECIAL REMEDY FOR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE FUSE PANEL WAS DAMAGED AND COULD CAUSE THE ENGINE TO SHUT OFF, LOSS OF POWER STEERING, AND A POSSIBLE CRASH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 204,000.
AT 6:00AM ON 5-26-2019 I STARTED VEHICLE WITH BOTH DEFROSTERS ON. IT WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY. I LET VEHICLE RUN ABOUT 15 MINUTES TO REMOVE FOG FROM WINDOWS. UPON RE-ENTRY I NOTICED A BURNING SMELL LIKE WHEN YOU START YOUR FURNACE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE WINTER. I TRIED TO LOCATE THE ODOR, I NOTICED THE ODOR WAS STRONGEST IN REAR SEAT ON PASSENGER SIDE OF VEHICLE. I NOTICED THAT THE BACK GLASS WAS NOW SHATTERED BUT INTACT. A POLICE REPORT AND INVESTIGATION WAS PERFORMED. THE OFFICER CONCLUDED THAT THERE WAS NO IMPACT. I PLACED PACKING TAPE ON WINDOW TO SECURE GLASS UNTIL IT CAN BE REPLACED.
TRUCK WAS PARKED HOOKED TO A CAMPER WHEN I TRIED TO START THE TRUCK IT WOULD NOT START. HAD TO TOW THE TRUCK TO THE FORD DEALER THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE FUSE THAT OVERHEATED THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE IT WITH A FUSE KIT. THE DEALER SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT I DID HOWEVER SEE AN ARTICLE IN CARS.COM STATING THAT FORD WAS REPLACING THIS FREE OF CHARGE. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT FORD IS AWARE OF THIS FUSE THAT OVERHEATS AND IN FACT SELLS A FUSE KIT THAT RELOCATES THIS FUSE AT A CHARGE OF $480 BUT I'M SENDING THIS SURVEY HOPING TO OVERTURN THIS. ACCORDING TO OTHER FORD OWNERS THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING AND SEEMS VERY UNSAFE I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO BE PARKED AND JUST INCONVENIENCED.
MY TWO KIDS AND I WERE PLACING AN ORDER AT A DRIVE THROUGH, WHEN WE HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A GUNSHOT IN MY TRUCK. I LOOKED OVER MY DAUGHTER'S HEAD AND SEE MY BACK DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW HAD EXPLODED. I HAD THE DEFROST ON FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES. IT WAS SNOWING, SO I DIDN'T GET A GOOD LOOK AT IT TILL TODAY.IT LOOKS LIKE THE WINDOW IS READY TO FALL IN. NO SIGNS OF ANYTHING HITTING THE WINDOW FROM EITHER SIDE. I HAVE READ OVER 100 DIFFERENT COMPLAINTS ONLINE OF THIS HAPPENING TO OTHER FORD OWNERS.

THE CONTACT SAFELY COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND REPLACED THE TWENTY FOUR STUDS ON ALL THE WHEELS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000.
