MY F150 STALLS IN TRAFFIC THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND WENCH LIGHT COMES ON THEN ENGINE LOSE POWER AND HAVE TO STOP AND TURN ENGINE OFF AND RESTART. HAD IT AT DEALER THEY TOLD ME THE PLUGS NEEDED REPLACED THEY DID IT BUT DIDN,T HELP STILL DOING THE SAME THING COST ME 475.00 DOLLARS, DOES ALL THESE THINGS IN MOTION STILL NOT FIXED PARKED RIGHT NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE IT
SPEED SENSOR. WHEN DRIVING YOU COULD BE STOPPED OR MOVING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED FOR EXAMPLE I WAS GOING 50MPH WHEN THE TRUCK SHIFTED INTO FIRST CAUSING THE TRUCK TO COME ALMOST TO A COMPLETE STOP ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. AT OTHER TIMES WHEB YOU START THE TRUCK IT WILL SHIFT FROM 1ST GEAR TO 5TH GEAR AND THE WRENCH INDICATOR WILL APPEAR ON DASH WHILE EVERYTHING ELSE TURNS TO DASHES (MILEAGE ETC). THE SPEEDOMETER WILL THEN SHOW ZERO EVEN WHILE STILL MOVING.
TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION, WILL NOT ENGAGE WHEN VEHICLE IS STOPPED. SEEMS LIKE IT IS STUCK IN 5TH GEAR. ODO READS ------, AIRBAG AND SEAT BELT LIGHT COMES ON. SPEEDOMETER GOES TO ZERO. WHEN I TURN ENGINE OFF AND BACK ON, IT OPERATES NORMAL FOR A FEW MILES. WAS ALMOST T-BONED BY SEMI THIS MORNING BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT ENGAGE WHEN I PULLED INTO INTERSECTION.
VEHICLE SHIFTS GEARS ERRATICALLY. GOING FROM 6TH GEAR TO 1ST AT 70 MPH
2013 FORD F150 PURCHASE 2 YRS AGO WITH 51K IN MILES. THE DEALER HAD INSTALLED NEW BREAKS AND ROTORS. THE OTHER DAY I STARTED HEARING A BAD BREAK NOISE SO I TOOK A LOOK. THE OUTSIDE PADS STILL HAD ENOUGH PAD ON THEM TO SEE. I WAS AWAY FROM HOME FOR THE DAY SO THE NEXT DAY I ORDERED PADS AND ROTORS. FROM THE TIME I LEFT MY HOUSE TAKING NEIGHBORHOOD STREETS TO THE AUTO PARTS STORE TO THE TIME I GOT BACK I WENT FROM BREAK NOISE TO ONLY AN EMERGENCY BREAK. I TAKE OFF THE PASSENGER TIRE TO FIND BRAKE FLUID EVERYWHERE. I OPEN THE HOOD TO SEE THE RESERVOIR EMPTY. I REMOVE THE CALIPER TO FIND THERE IS NO INNER BREAK PAD, NOT EVEN A STEEL PLATE? THE CALIPER PISTON HAD HIT THE ROTOR AND MELTED A BIT. IN ALL MY YEARS I HAVE NEVER SEEN OR HEARD OF A BREAK PAD COMING LOOSE FROM THE HOLDER. I FOUND THE STEEL PLATE THE PAD ATTACHES TO STUCK IN THE SHROUD. GOT IT OUT AND LOOKED AT IT. IT DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE THAT MUCH THINNER THAN A NEW ONE. SO I GET TO LOOKING INTO IT AND READ LOTS OF PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT EXCESSIVE WEAR ON THE INSIDE FRONT PADS. I ALSO FIND OUT ABOUT A RECALL FOR THE MASTER CYLINDER. I PUT THE VEHICLE BACK TOGETHER AND PARK IT. CHECK THE MAIL BOX TO FIND A RECALL NOTICE FOR IT. I GET THE TRUCK INTO THE DEALER AND AM TOLD FORD WILL ONLY COVER THE MASTER CYLINDER. NOW THERE ARE NO NOISE INDICATORS ON THE BRAKE PADS TO TELL YOU OF WARE ANYMORE. AND WHY DID THE PLATE COME OUT OF THE HOLDER. I AM THANKFUL I WASN'T ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY GRANDSON. THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 31K MORE MILES ON IT THAN WHEN THE DEALER REPLACED THE BRAKES BEFORE. MOST OF THOSE ARE HIGHWAY AND I DON'T HAUL THINGS. I THINK THIS IS A LIFE SAFETY ISSUE AND POOR ENGINEERING.
5 PLUS INSTANCES OF NOTICEABLE GEAR SHIFT SHUDDERING DURING BOTH UP AND DOWNSHIFTING AT RANDOM TIMES WHILE AT CRUISING SPEEDS ABOVE 25+ MPH. A FEW OTHER INSTANCES THE SPEEDOMETER WAS OBSERVED MOVING RAPIDLY AND ERRATICALLY WHILE ON A HIGHWAY SPEEDS ALONG WITH A TRANSMISSION SHUDDER. MORE RECENTLY THE TRANSMISSION PERFORMED A SIGNIFICANT HARD DOWN SHIFT I NEVER EXPERIENCED BEFORE AND WAS NOT EXPECTING. ALL ISSUES WERE OBSERVED BEGINNING JANUARY 2018. WHILE DRIVING ON THE CITY STREET THE TRANSMISSION JUMPED FROM HIGHER GEAR TO A LOWER GEAR FOR NO REASON. TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO BE UNABLE TO DECIDE WHAT GEAR IT SHOULD BE IN AFTER STOPPING AT RED LIGHT. TRANSMISSION WOULD BE IN A HIGH GEAR AND ALMOST UNABLE TO TAKE OFF FROM A DEAD STOP. AFTER TURNING VEHICLE OFF AND CRANKING UP AGAIN IT SEEMED TO WORK FINE. THEN WHEN PULLING OUT ONTO THE HIGHWAY FROM A SIDE ROAD I ATTEMPTED TO GO AND MY TRUCK WOULD BARELY MOVE, I WAS ALMOST HIT BY AN ONCOMING VEHICLE BECAUSE MY TRUCK WOULD NOT GO INTO THE PROPER GEAR AND TAKE OFF AS DESIGNED TO. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT ANYMORE BECAUSE I MAY GO TO TAKE OFF AND NOT BE ABLE TO AND GET HIT BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I ALSO AM AFRAID I MAY BE GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE TRANSMISSION JUMP INTO A LOWER GEAR AND CAUSE ME TO LOSE CONTROL AND HAVE A WRECK. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM TO HAVE.
HAD TO BUY A NEW ENGINE! THE TRUCK STARTED RUNNING ROUGH ON THE DRIVE HOME FROM WORK ON FRIDAY, APRIL 6. ON SATURDAY MORNING, APRIL 7, I TOOK IT TO GET GAS. AFTER FILLING MY TANK, THE TRUCK WOULD NOT START BACK UP. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED FROM THE GAS STATION. TOWED IT TO KELLER FORD, GRAND RAPIDS, MI. CODES P0011, P0016, P0017, P0019, P0021, P0172, P0175, P0299, P0313, P0365, P0369, P0390, P0394, P0430 AND P052C. THE TECHNICIAN ALSO PERFORMED A POWER BALANCE TEST AND A COMPRESSION TEST, IT WAS DETERMINED HALF THE ENGINE HAD ZERO COMPRESSION AND THE OTHER HALF HAD LOWERED COMPRESSION. ALL OF THESE RESULTS INDICATED THE TRUCK NEEDED A FULL ENGINE REPLACEMENT. $7,650 FOR THE NEW ENGINE. A VEHICLE WITH 80,000 MILES AND ONLY 5 YEARS OLD SHOULD NOT NEED A NEW ENGINE. A MECHANIC TOLD US THIS IS A PROBLEM AND HE REPLACES AN ENGINE ON THESE FORD TRUCKS AT LEAST A FEW TIMES A MONTH. WE HAD THE ENGINE REPLACED AT SULFORCE AUTOMOTIVE, GRANDVILLE, MI
WITH A HARD ACCELERATION THE TRUCK BLOGGED DOWN & THE ENGINE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON. I THOUGHT THE ENGINE SHUT OFF SO I PULLED IT DOWN INTO 1ST GEAR & IT TOOK OFF AGAIN. STILL SPUTTERS LIKE THERE IS WATER IN THE GAS OR SOMETHING. LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF. PRETTY DANGEROUS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. IT ACTUALLY DIDN'T HAVE ANY POWER WHAT SO EVER. PRETTY SCARY. I READ THERE WERE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME SITUATION. WHY HAS FORD TAKEN CARE OF THIS AS A RECALL?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN SEIZED AND IT REQUIRED ADDITIONAL EFFORT TO STEER THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT AND OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 18,000. *TT
WHILE DRIVING, THE TRUCK DOWNSHIFT TO 1ST GEAR RANDOMLY. THE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE TRUCK STAYED IN 1ST GEAR. ALL OF THE GAUGES DIED AND I WAS FORCED TO PULL OVER.. I RESTARTED THE TRUCK AND IT RAN NORMAL. THE NEXT DAY I WAS DRIVING ON THE CRUISE CONTROL WHEN THE TRUCK DOWNSHIFTED TO 5TH AND ALL THE GAUGES DIED. LATER THAT DAY, IT WENT INTO 3RD GEAR AND WOULD NOT SHIFT. I AM NOW HAVING TO PAY 900$ TO FIX SOMETHING TBAT IS ALREADY RECALLED FOR 2012 BUT NOT MY 2013. SAME TRANSMISSIONS AND SAME ISSUE.
135,987 MI. 2013 FORD F 150 ECONOBOOST POWERSTEERING ASSIT WENT OUT! NOTICE A TRACTION FAULT COUPLE DAYS AGO AND IT WENT AWAY AFTER I SHUT OFF MY TRUCK. THE STEERING NEVER DID THIS AND IT HAPPENED IN A PARKING LOT MAKING A SHARP LEFT TURN! AND THEN WHILE TRYING TO DRIVE OUT OF THE PARKING LOT TURNING OUT TO THE INTERSECTION NO POWER STEERING???? JUST LAST YEAR I HAD TO REPLACE MY THROTTLE BODY BECAUSE MY TRUCK WOULD GO LIMP WHILE DRIVING! WHY ISN'T THERE A RECAL ON THE STEERING FOR THIS YEAR?
AIR CONDITIONING HAS A LEAK ON EVAPORATOR. VEHICLE WAS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD WHEN DISCOVERED. BUT OUT OF WARRANTY
MY TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN ACTING ERRATICALLY FOR THE PAST 30 DAYS. AT FIRST THE VEHICLE WOULD LOSE ACCELERATION AND THEN THE RPMS WOULD JUMP 2000, AFTER A COUPLE SECONDS I WOULD HEAR A LOUD THUMP AS THE TRANSMISSION REENGAGED; THE SPEEDOMETER ALSO REGISTERED 0 A COUPLE TIMES WHEN THIS HAPPENED. OTHER TIMES THE TRANSMISSION WOULD REFUSE TO LEAVE FIRST GEAR OR I WOULD LOSE POWER WHILE IN FIRST GEAR FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 SECONDS. THE WORST ISSUE HAPPENED WHEN I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED INTO 1ST GEAR AND LOCKED UP MY REAR TIRES! THANKFULLY I DIDN'T GET REAR ENDED, OR WORSE, BEEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY; THERE IS NO WAY I COULD HAVE CONTROLLED THE VEHICLE AT HIGH SPEEDS AND COULD HAVE SERIOUSLY INJURED MYSELF OR OTHER DRIVERS. UNFORTUNATELY THESE TRANSMISSION ISSUES ARE INTERMITTENT AND DO NOT GENERATE ERROR CODES. I'VE BEEN TO TWO FORD DEALERS, THE FIRST COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE AND THE SECOND WAS ABLE TO DETERMINE THE ISSUE IS CAUSED BY A FAULTY ELECTRONIC CONTROL ASSEMBLY IN THE TRANSMISSION; THEY HAD TO SEARCH SERVICE BULLETINS IN ORDER TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS HAPPENING. WHILE THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON COMPLAINT WITH FORD OWNERS, 2013 VEHICLES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME $1412.75 TO FIX THE ISSUE. IN ADDITION, THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE.
AT 42K MILES, FRONT BRAKES AND ROTORS WERE TRASHED. NOW AT 80K MILES, FRONT BRAKES AND ROTORS ARE TRASH AGAIN. TOO SOON FOR MEAN TIME BETWEEN FAILURE. ALL THE WHILE, BRAKE FLUID WOULD DISAPPEAR AND HAD TO BE FILLED 3-4 TIMES. HOWEVER, THERE ARE NOT APPARENT LEAKS WITHIN THE SYSTEM
VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED (AT 65MPH ON HWY) FROM 6TH TO 3RD TO 1ST GEAR ALL BY ITSELF.
76000 MILES. POWER STEERING LOST. LIMPED TO THE FORD GARAGE AND AFTER 2 HOURS WAS TOLD THE POWER ASSIST NEEDED TO BE REPLACED - $1900.00!! REALLY? 2014 MODELS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM BUT HAD A RECALL. WHY NOT THE 2013'S? FIRST TIME EVER AFTER OWNING MANY VEHICLES THAT I'VE HAD AN EXPENSE LIKE THIS. FORD? NO MORE!! I COULD HAVE GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT OR EVEN KILLED.
TRANSMISSION SHIFTS ERRATICALLY. SOMETIMES IT DOES NOT SHIFT DOWN FROM 5TH GEAR AND BOGS DOWN FROM A STANDING START (ONVIOUSLY) AND I HAVE TO STOP AND PUT IN PARK TO SHIFT AGAIN AND SOMETIMES THAT DOES NOT WORK. ON A COUPLE OF OCCASIONS IT SHIFTED DOWN TO FIRST ON IT'S OWN AND IT FELT LIKE SOMEONE REAR ENDED THE VEHICLE THE JOLT WAS SO HARD. SERVICE DEPT SAYS THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE IT IS NOT RECALLED AND THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE IT (DANGEROUSLY HAPPENS AT RANDOM!). I DO NOT WANT TO DRIVE MY FAMILY IN THIS DANGEROUS TRUCK!
76000 MILES. DRIVING HOME AND LOST ALL POWER STEERING. LUCKILY CLOSE TO THE DEALERSHIP. LIMPED IN AND THEY GOT IT RIGHT IN. THE ADVANCE TRAC LIGHT WAS ON AND THEY CHECKED IT FOR OVER AN HOUR. FINALLY, THEY SAID THE EPAS SYSTEM HAS FAILED AND IT COSTS $1900 TO REPLACE IT!

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT NO FAILURE WAS DETECTED. SANDERSON FORD (6400 N 51ST AVE, GLENDALE, AZ 85301) WAS CONTACTED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SPEED SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,170.
WITHOUT WARNING MY REAR WHEELS & DRIVETRAIN LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING. MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST CONTROL AND I HAD TO DRIVE INTO THE GRASSY SHOULDER AT AROUND 35 MPH TO AVOID BEING IN TRAFFIC. AS THE PROBLEM WAS OCCURING, THE SPEEDOMETER WENT TO 0 MPH AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE MILEAGE IN THE CLUSTER SHOWED ALL DASHES. THE TRANSMISSION FELT LIKE IT WAS DISCONNECTED FROM THE ENGINE, AND TRANSMISSION WAS STUCK IN 5TH GEAR AT LOW VEHICLE SPEEDS. I CYCLED THE IGNITION, AND TRUCK DROVE NORMALLY AFTER THAT. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM AND VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WITH AS VEHICLE WILL LOSE POWER AND TRANSMISSION CAN SHIFT TO 1ST GEAR AT HIGH VEHICLE SPEEDS. MY VEHICLE HAS THE 6R80 FAULTY TRANSMISSION WITH THE SAME TYPE OF 6R80 MOLDED LEAD FRAME DEFECT PROBLEM REPORTED IN PREVIOUS F150 MODEL YEARS. UPON CONTACTING DEALERSHIP THEY SEEMED LIKE THEY NEVER HEARD OF THE ISSUE BEFORE. FORD SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL FOR ALL VEHICLES WITH P0722 OUTPUT SHAFT SPEED SENSOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES. A SIMPLE ELECTRICAL ISSUE ON A $100 PART SHOULD NOT CAUSE THIS TYPE OF DANGEROUS REACTION. SEE FORD TSB 13-4-9 AND 13-2-3 AND RECALL #16V248000 THAT SHOULD APPLY TO ALL 2013 F-150'S TOO.
SEVERAL TIMES MY TRANSMISSION SHIFTED FROM 6TH GEAR TO FIRST GEAR WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN TRAFFIC APPROXIMATELY 35-45 MPH. THIS CAUSED MY REAR TIRES TO LOCK UP AND WAS ALMOST RAN OVER BY VEHICLES BEHIND ME. ONCE IT HAPPENED WHILE PULLING MY UTV TRAILER ON THE FREEWAY AT 65 MPH. I WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE BECAUSE OF THIS HAPPENING BEFORE, AND AS SOON AS IT HAPPENED I SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND TURNED MY EMERGENCY FLASHERS ON AND PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE.
TRUCK WAS AUTOMATIC STARTED AND IDLING IN DRIVEWAY PARKED. DRIVER REAR WINDOW (NEAREST THE TRUCK BED) EXPLODED AND SHATTERED INTO MANY PIECES. HAD MY DAUGHTER BEEN SITTING IN HER CAR SEAT SHE COULD HAVE BEEN HARMED.
THE ELECTRIC POWER STEER IN MY 2013 FORD F150 TRUCK IS FAILING TO WORK PROPERLY. IT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE PROVIDING AN POWER ASSIST AT ALL AT LOW SPEEDS. WHEN TAKING SLOW SPEED SHARP TURNS(90 DEGREES) THE STEER SEEMS TO LOCK UP AND I HAVE TO APPLY ALOT OF FORCE TO THE STEER WHEEL TO GET THE TRUCK'S WHEELS TO COME BACK STRAIGHT AGAIN. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE SITUATION. I PURCHASED THIS F150 NEW FROM SUGARLOAF FORD IN WINONA MINNESOTA IN 2013.

THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO KALISPELL FORD IN KALISPELL, MONTANA WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE VACUUM PUMP FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000. *TT RIGHT AFTER REPAIR CONTACT DROVE HOME AND BRAKES WENT OUT AGAIN. VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND STARTED AGAIN IN WHICH BRAKES CAME BACK INTO FULL USE. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED AND KEPT VEHICLE FOR A WEEK IN WHICH THE FAILURE WAS REPRODUCED. FORD DOES NOT WANT TO PAY FOR REPAIRS. *TT
IT WAS 3:30PM IN THE AFTERNOON 43 WHEN MY PASSENGER REAR WINDOW SHATTERED OUT OF THE BLUE DRIVING HOME FROM MY MOTHERS HOUSE. SCARED ME THOUGHT I GOT SHOT I DUCT UNDER THE DASH QUICKLY AND LOOKED AROUND TO REALIZE THAT MY PASSENGER REAR WINDOW WAS SHATTERED.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE IN HIS HOME, THE CONTACT USED THE REMOTE STARTER TO START THE VEHICLE. WHEN HE EXITED HIS HOME AND WALKED TOWARDS THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW HAD SHATTERED WITHOUT WARNING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A FORD DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HOLIDAY FORD AT (877) 478-5316 (390 N ROLLING MEADOWS DR, FOND DU LAC, WI 54937), BUT THE DEALER REFUSED TO SERVICE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE IT WAS SERVICED AT ANOTHER LOCATION AND THE CONTACT WAS NOT A LOYAL CUSTOMER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.

I DID NOTICE THAT ME VEHICLE LOST IT SPEEDOMETER WHICH TRIGGER THE BAD EVENT. MY VEHICLE HAS THE 6R80 FAULTY TRANSMISSION WITH THE SAME TYPE OF 6R80 LEAD FRAME DEFECT PROBLEM REPORTED IN PREVIOUS F150 MODEL YEARS.

I EVEN HAD THE REAR WINDOW OPEN A WEE BIT SO I COULD PUSH MORE AIR THROUGH THE CAB TO DEFROST THE WINDSHIELD BETTER.. WHEN I FIRST HEARD IT, I THOUGHT A TREE BRANCH HIT THE TOP OF THE ROOF. BUT THE NOISE SOUNDED A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT THAN SOME OBJECT HITTING THE TRUCK. THE DRIVER REAR PANEL IS SHATTERED BETWEEN THE OUTER AND INNER GLASS PANELS. DEFINITELY AROUND THE HEATING ELEMENT WIRES AND THE PANEL IS STILL INTACT.

I NOW AM QUESTIONING WHETHER TO KEEP THIS TRUCK THAT COULD COST ME $2000 TO FIX WHEN THE RACK NEEDS REPLACED OR POSSIBLY EVEN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THE 2013 F150 TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTS OFTEN AND RANDOMLY WHILE THE VEHICLE IS OPERATING AT HIGHER SPEEDS (45 MPH +) ON THE HIGHWAY AND ON CITY STREETS. TYPICALLY THE VEHICLE IS MOVNG STRAIGHT AND NOT TURNING. THE DOWNSHIFT IS TYPICALLY FROM 6TH GEAR TO 3RD GEAR AND MORE OFTEN FROM 5TH GEAR TO 2ND GEAR. IN THE LATTER INSTANCE, THE REAR WHEELS SKID WHEN THE PAVEMENT IS WET. THE TRANSMISSION MOVES BACK INTO THE APPROPRIATE GEAR AFTER A COUPLE OF SECONDS. WE HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH FORD TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM FOR AT LEAST TWO YEARS. FORD HAS NOW GIVEN UP. FORD HAS REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY AND A COMMUNICATION CABLE THAT CONNECTS THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE TO THE TRANSMISSION. NOTHING HAS WORKED AND THE F150 CONTINUES TO DOWNSHIFT. I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AND I AM WORRIED WHEN MY WIFE DRIVES THE TRUCK (OFTEN NO OPTION) SHOULD THE REAR WHEELS LOCK UP AND SEND THE VEHICLE INTO AN UNCONTROLLABLE SPIN.

YOU HAVE TO TURN OFF ENGINE AND RESTART VEHICLE. THIS STARTED THE DAY AFTER I BOUGHT IT USED FROM A FORD DEALER. IT HAS OCCURED AT 5 TIMES IN THE LAST WEEK. THESE ARE THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS RECALL FOR 2012 F-150'S LISTED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN #16V248000. MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN SAME PLANT THAT WAS LISTED IN THE RECALL. RECALL SHOULD BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE THE 2013 AND ANY OTHERS THAT HAVE THIS EQUIPMENT INSTALLED.

AN ORANGE WRENCH WILL FLASH IN THE INFO CENTER ON THE DASH WHEN THIS IS HAPPENING INTERMITTENTLY. THE TRANSMISSION ALSO DOWNSHIFTED FROM 6TH GEAR TO 1ST GEAR WHILE THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS SET AT 75 MPH. THIS CAUSED THE TRUCK TO GO INTO AN UNCONTROLLED SKID, LUCKILY IT DID NOT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I CYCLED THE IGNITION AND DROVE SLOWLY AWAY WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED. THAT DEALERSHIP ACTS LIKE THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THE 200,000 PLUS FORD VEHICLES THAT WERE RECALLED FROM 2011-2012 FOR THESE EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS. MY 2013 F-150 MISSED THAT RECALL BY JUST A FEW MONTHS. THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY NEEDS TO ADDRESS THESE PROBLEMS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED.

PAID $800 TO HAVE IT FIXED WHILE OWNERS OF 2011 AND 2012 FORDS ARE HAVING THEIR SAME ISSUE FIXED FOR FREE.
DINING ACCELERATION THE TRUCK WOULD SPUTTER IN HIGHER RPM THEN JUST RECENTLY I WOULD BE DOING 70 MPH DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND I WOULD GET A SERVICE LIGHT WITH POWER REDUCTION WHICH IN TURN WOULD REQUIRE ME TO PULL OVER SHUT THE TRUCK OFF RESTART IT AND TRY AGAIN. I WOULD GET BACK UP TO SPEED AND IT WOULD REPEAT. EACH TIME ONLY GETTING ABOUT A MILE UP THE ROAD AND IT WOULD REPEAT. TOOK THE TRUCK INTO THE DEALER AS IT WAS STILL IN WARRANTY THE FIRST TIME AND THEY IGNORED THE P2112 CODE AND REPLACED A TOTALLY DIFFERENT SENSOR.
