Multifunction switch that operates turn signals, hi lo beams, wiper blades fails due to poor quality plastics. There are so many failures the part is not available nationwide. The part that fails is not the multifunction switch but the “steering console upper assembly” that receives and mounts the multifunction switch. This is a $400 pile of garbage that renders the vehicle dangerous to drive.

I HAVE NOTICED A FEATURE ON NEWER VEHICLES WHICH I BELIEVE IS A CAUSE FOR CONCERN. THE FEATURE INVOLVES AUTOMATIC ILLUMINATION OF THE DASH LIGHTS WHICH LEADS DRIVERS TO BELIEVE THEIR HEADLIGHTS ARE ON WHEN, IN FACT, THEY MAY NOT BE. I SEE AN INORDINATELY HIGH PERCENTAGE OF VEHICLES DRIVING WITHOUT HEADLIGHTS ILLUMINATED AT DUSK AND BELIEVE THIS FEATURE COULD BE THE CAUSE FOR AT LEAST SOME OF THESE. THANK YOU, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
BOTH TAIL LIGHT LAMP ASSEMBLYS HAVE STRESS CRACKS AND MOISTURE IS PRESENT IN ONE OF THEM. I ONLY HAVE 14000 MILES AND TODAY THE DEALER SAID IT'S NOT A WARRANTY ITEM. NOTICED IT AROUND 12000 MILES.
LEFT TURN SIGNAL STUCK ON, RIGHT TURN SIGNAL INOPERABLE. *TR
