We are the original vehicle owners. The backup camera was replaced at a Ford Dealership on 3/26/20 because the screens were showing blank images and sometimes distorted images. at that time the mileage was 82564. Now the backup camera is doing the exact same thing, and the mileage is 144236. This is a safety issue backing up and can cause an accident. There have been recalls on most models but 2014 was not included. Ford has stated that the recalls are tied to the VIN., thus even though we paid Ford and replaced the camera in 2020, the camera is not covered although it is the same parts of model year VINS that were recalled. The 2014 should have been included in the recalls, as well as specific part recalls.
VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN 2017. IN 2018, OCCASSIONALLY NOTED THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG INDICATOR WOULD SWITCH TO OFF WHILE A PASSENGER WAS IN THE SEAT, WITH SEATBELT FASTENED. APPROACHED MY DEALER WITH THE PROBLEM, THEY READ CODES AND FOUND NO FAULTS. DURING A LONG ROAD TRIP IN 2019/2020, A PATTERN EMERGED: WHEN VEHICLE FIRST STARTED AND PASSENGER PRESENT, PASSENGER AIRBAG SYSTEM INDICATES ON. AFTER 20-30 MINUTES OF DRIVING, INDICATOR GOES TO OFF. ABOUT 50% OF THE TIME, UNBUCKLING AND RETRACTING PASSENGER SEATBELT, THEN REBUCKLING, AND INDICATOR WILL COME BACK ON. IF THIS FAILS, TRUCK MUST HAVE IGNITION TURNED OFF BEFORE IT WILL RESET AND SWITCH AIRBAG ON. HAVE BEEN TOLD BY DEALERSHIP THAT THIS VEHICLE IS NOT PART OF THE 2014/15 RECALL FOR ISSUES THAT MATCH THESE SYMPTOMS. ALSO TOLD THAT MY EXPENSIVE EXTENDED WARRANTY MAY NOT COVER A FIX (TO THE MAIN SAFETY SYSTEM??)... IT IS DEPENDENT ON SHOP INSPECTION AND DIAGNOSIS.
ABRUPT DECELERATION, CHIRPED TIRES AND VEHICLE WAS BOGGING DOWN VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION GOING ROUGHLY 40 MPH ON A CITY STREET. HAS HAPPENED TWICE NOW BOLTH TIMES WHEN VEHICLE IS COLD, IF I WAS NOT WEARING SEAT BELT I WOULD HAVE WENT THREW WINDSHIELD. MPH DROPS TO ZERO AND RPMS GO TO ABOUT 6000 RPM LIKE AS IF SHIFTS TO FIRST GEAR FROM 5 GEAR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. ADDITIONALLY, AFTER REFUELING, SEVERAL ATTEMPTS WERE NEEDED TO START THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL FUEL ODOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNDRIVEABLE. A DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
WHILE TRAVELING NORTHBOUND ON HWY 90 BY CHIMNEYROCK EXIT MY TRUCK SUDDENLY AND ABRUPTLY DOWNSHIFTED TO 1ST, 2ND, 1ST AND 3RD. HAD TO OULL OVER AND STARTED GOING AGAIN. NOW IT GETS STUCK IN THIRD AND IS MAKING ONE OF THE CYLINDERS MISFIRE.
REAR DRIVER'S SIDE SEATBELT IS BINDING AGAINST REAR WINDOW FRAME AND WHEN REAR SEAT WAS FLIPPED UP WITH VEHICLE OFF, STATIONARY, THE REAR FIXED DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW SHATTERED. GLASS SHARDS ARE NOW ALL OVER INTERIOR AND PERSONAL MATERIALS.
AS I WAS DRIVING MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND I COULD NO LONGER TURN AND ON THE SCREEN DISPLAY WAS POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT.
WHEN I TURN THE CABIN FAN UP THERE IS A HUMMING NOISE WHERE THE HIGHER THE FAN IS TURNED, THE MORE THE DASH STARTS TO VIBRATE. I CAN BE PARKED OR MOVING.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HAVING THE VEHICLE REPAIRED AT ROBBERSON FORD LOCATED AT (2100 NE 3RD ST, BEND, OR 97701), THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BRAKE PADS WERE DEPLETED ON BOTH SIDES AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT BOTH PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BEFORE A POSSIBLE BRAKE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WHERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE DIAGNOSIS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,656.
VEHICLE SHUTS OFF SOMETIMES IN TRAFFIC WHEN TANK NOT EMPTY . GAUGE RESISTERS THAT FUEL IS IN THE TANK . THREE TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED , NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY !
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER PRESSING THE AUTO START BUTTON TO START THE VEHICLE MOMENTS LATER A LOUD POPPING SOUND WAS HEARD. UPON INSPECTION IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE REAR CABIN SLIDING WINDOW WAS SHATTERED. DURING THE INCIDENT THE WEATHER TEMPERATURE WAS 25 DEGREES. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER CURRIE MOTORS (2052 W. MORTHLAND DR. VALPARAISO, INDIAN) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,700. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
WHILE I AM DRIVING WITH MY PREGNANT WIFE IN THE VEHICLE THE AIRBAG LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE SAYING THAT THE AIRBAG IS OFF, I HAVE TO PULL OVER WHILE DRIVING TO HAVE HER GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND GET BACK IN FOR THE LIGHT TO TURN OFF. IT'S A NORMAL STREET IN A DEVELOPMENT OR ON THE ROAD DRIVING. DIFFERENT SPEEDS WITH FLAT ROADS, SOME HAVE BUMPS OTHERS ARE RECENTLY PAVED ASPHALT. HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY, OVER A DOZEN TIMES AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS. MY VEHICLES VIN DOESN'T FIT THE RECALL FOR THE AIRBAG ISSUE THAT IS ALREADY AWARE BY FORD. TOOK VEHICLE TO FORD DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES FOR THIS SAME ISSUE, ONLY THONG DONE WAS A RECALIBRATION OF THE SEAT WEIGHT AND EXACTLY 2 WEEKS AND 1 DAY LATER LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN, UNABLE TO PULL OVER I DROVE HOPING TO FIND A WAY TO PULL OVER FOR THE SAFETY OF MY WIFE AND UNBORN CHILD, THE LIGHT TURNED OFF AFTER 40 SECONDS OF REALIZING IT WAS ON. A FULLY GROWN INDIVIDUAL SITTING IN THE SEAT WEIGHT 190+LBS HAS THIS HAPPENING TO THEM. I HAVE VIDEO FOOTAGE AND WILL TRY TO ATTACH IT IF POSSIBLE. MOST RECENTLY IT HAPPENED TODAY, 2/19/20 AT 3:17PM.
AS I WAS ACCELERATING THE TRUCK STOPPED ACCELERATING AND IDLES ROUGH. WRENCH LIGHT ON THE DASH CAME ON. FORTUNATELY WAS ABLE TO GET THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH OUT CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. CAME TO A STOP, PUT IT IN PARK, TRUCK STILL IDLEING BUT ROUGHLY. PRESSED DOWN ON ACCELERATOR AND NOTHING HAPPENED. ENGINE DIDNT REV UP AT ALL. TURNED THE ENGINE OFF. RESTARTED AND THEN EVERYTHING WAS FINE. WRENCH LIGHT ON THE DASH EVEN WENT OUT.
WIPERS DO NOT SHUT OFF, TURN ON FOR NO REASON. *TR
DOOR LOCK ON BOTH REAR DOORS GET STUCK IN THE LOCK POSITION. I PHYSICALLY HAVE TO TAKE PLIERS TO PRY UP ON THE KNOB TO UNLOCK THE BACK DOORS.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WITH MY REAR DEFROST OPERATING. I SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING THAT HAD AN "ELECTRICAL BURN" SMELL. I THENHEARD A LOUD "POP". I LOOKED IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR AND SAW THAT MY REAR DRIVER SIDE BACK GLASS PANEL (SLIDING GLASS WINDOW) WAS SHATTERED. THIS WAS ESPECIALLY CONCERNING BECAUSE MY DAUGHTER WAS SEATED DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE SHATTERED GLASS IN HER CAR SEAT. I RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND SAW NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER IN THIS MODEL OF TRUCK. THAT EXPLAINS THE ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL.
WAS HAVING TROUBLE STARTING MY TRUCK ONE DAY. CRANKING AND CRANKING BUT NOT FIRING. SOMETIMES IT WOULD EVENTUALLY FIRE, SOMETIMES IT REQUIRED A JUMP TO GET IT GOING. TOOK IT INTO FORD, THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY. DIDN'T HAPPEN FOR A FEW MORE DAYS. SAME THING. CRANK, CRANK, CRANK, BUT WOULDN'T START. DID SOME SEARCHING ONLINE, AND FOUND SIMILAR SITUATION REGARDING A BURNT/MELTED FUSE 27 (THE FUEL PUMP FUSE). FORD KNOWS ABOUT THIS ISSUE SO MUCH THAT THEY EVEN CREATED A PART TO MOVE THE FUEL PUMP TO A LARGER FUSE. I'M GLAD THIS ISSUE ONLY HAPPENED WHILE SITTING STILL AND I WAS ABLE TO GET THE FUSED REPLACED WITHOUT INCIDENT. HOWEVER, I WOULD IMAGINE THAT SOON MY VEHICLE WOULD HAVE STOPPED WHILE TRAVELING DUE TO THE FUEL PUMP FUSE COMPLETELY DYING. ALSO SEEMS LIKE A FIRE HAZARD, OR IT COULD DO FURTHER DAMAGE TO THE FUSE BOX OR TO SURROUNDING FUSES. FORD SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL FOR THIS IMMEDIATELY.
I PURCHASED A USED 2014 F-150 XLT IN JUNE 2019. IT'S AMAZING AMOUNT OF ISSUES THIS TRUCK HAS SEEING AS IT'S THE LAST OF THAT PARTICULAR GENERATION. I COULD DEAL WITH MOST OF THEM, BUT THE BIG CONCERN IS WITH TRANSMISSION DROPPING UNEXPECTEDLY TO A MUCH LOWER GEAR.. THIS WAS SUCH A CONCERN AND SAFETY ISSUE I RECALL WAS MADE BY FORD BUT IT ONLY COVERED UP TO THE 2013 MODEL YEAR. I THINK THE MODEL YEARS OF IMPACTED VEHICLES NEEDS TO BE RE-EVALUATED AND EXTENDED. I'VE OWNED THE TRUCK FOR 10K MI AND IT ONLY HAD 40K MI WHEN THE EVENT OCCURRED. I WAS DRIVING HOME THE NIGHT MONDAY, JANUARY 27, 2020 ON THE SAME HIGHWAY, INTERSTATE 81, THAT I HAVE TAKEN MANY TIMES. THE PORTION OF THE HIGHWAY DECLINES AND THEN FLATTENS OUT NEAR THE EXIT. THE SPEED LIMIT IS 65 MPH AND I BEGIN TO COAST AS THE ROAD LEVELS OUT. ON THIS PARTICULAR NIGHT, I WAS GOING ABOUT 68 MPH AND ON THE DOWNHILL PORTION TURNING SLIGHTLY RIGHT. THE EXIT WAS 1/4 MI AWAY. I WAS IN A NON-THROTLLE SITUATION WHEN I FELT THE TRUCK LURCH. AS I TOOK A QUICK LOOK DOWN TO THE GAUGES, THE TRUCK LURCHED AGAIN AND I WAS ABLE TO SEE THE TRANSMISSION INDICATOR DROP FROM 5TH GEAR TO 4TH GEAR. OF COURSE THE RPM WENT UP CORRESPONDINGLY. IT ONLY STAYED IN 4TH GEAR FOR 2 SECONDS BEFORE GOING BACK TO 6TH. I COULD ONLY IMAGINE HOW DANGEROUS A DROP TO 2ND GEAR OR EVEN 1ST WOULD BE. THERE IS MUCH INFORMATION ON THE INTERNET, SOME CORRECT, SOME INCORRECT, AND AS SUCH NUMEROUS IDEAS ARE PUT FORTH AS TO THE ROOT CAUSE. SOME THINK IT'S A LEAKING SEAL IMPACTING THE ELECTRICAL CONTACT OUTSIDE THE TRANSMISSION, OR A SPEED SENSOR ISSUE, OR A TIMING OR PROGRAMMING ISSUE, OR A TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY ISSUE. I BELIEVE THE RECALL INVOLVE A REFLASH ON THE TRANSMISSION MODULE TO NOT HAVE THE TRANSMISSION DROP GEARS IF THE SPEED SENSOR FAILS. WHATEVER THE ISSUE, FORT NEEDS TO LOOK INTO EXTENDING THIS BEYOND THE ORIGINAL COVERAGE.
MY FIRST TIMING CHAIN WENT OUT AT 59,000 MILES THE SECOND TIMING CHAIN HAS WENT OUT AT 87,000 MILES AGAIN. FORD WILL NOT PROVIDE WARRANTY ON THE SECOND CHAIN THAT ONLY LASTED 27,000 MILES AND A FORD DEALERSHIP DONE THE REPAIR.
2014 F150 PICKUP WHILE AT SPEED (FIRST TIME AT 35MPH AND SECOND AT 65MPH) ON TWO OCCASIONS DOWNSHIFTED INTO 1ST GEAR, CAUSING SPEEDOMETER TO READ 0 AND ODOMETER TO READ ----------. A TECHNICIAN READ CODE P0722 FROM COMPUTER AFTER LAST INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED ONE MONTH AFTER THE END DATE OF A RECALL DESIGNATED TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM, AND FORD WILL NOT FIX THIS TRUCK UNDER THAT RECALL, LEAVING THE EXPENSE OF THE REPAIR TO THE OWNER. WE DO NOT TRUST THIS VEHICLE TO BE SAFE TO DRIVE OVER 40MPH AS A LOSS OF CONTROL AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS DUE TO REAR TIRE LOCKUP COULD BE CATASTROPHIC.
REMOTELY STARTED THE TRUCK IN 35 DEGREE WEATHER ON 22 JANUARY 2020 IN MY DRIVEWAY. I UNLOCKED MY TRUCK AND GOT IN TO MOVE IT AND NOTICED THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE GLASS WAS SHATTERED. I DID NOT NOTICE ANY VISIBLE CAUSE OF THE DAMAGE SO SURMISED IT MUST HAVE BEEN A DEFECT.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE ATLANTIC CITY EXPRESSWAY ON JANUARY 20TH AND AT APPROXIMATELY 3:30 PM, I HEARD A VERY LOUD POP, AS IF A ROCK HAD HIT MY WINDSHIELD. I CHECKED AND SAW NOTHING, THEN LOOKED IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR AND SAW THAT THE REAR VIEW WINDOW ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE HAD JUST SHATTERED. IT WAS A CLEAR DAY WITH LIGHT TRAFFIC AND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED. I HAD MY SOFT COVER ON AND IT WAS STILL ON WHEN I ARRIVED AT THE AUTO REPAIR SHOP THAT WOUND UP REPLACING THE WINDOW. THE OWNER OF THE SHOP SAID HE HADN'T SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT. HE CALLED FORD TO SEE IF THEY HAD ANY INFORMATION AND HE WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THEY HAD NO RECALLS. UNFORTUNATELY I DIDN'T TAKE A PICTURE OF IT. HOWEVER, I DID SEARCH ONLINE AND SAW THAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED SIMILAR OCCURRENCES. I ALSO SAW THAT YOUR ORGANIZATION IS INTERESTED IN RECEIVING REPORTS SUCH AS THIS, SO THAT IS WHY I AM SUBMITTING IT. IT DEFINITELY SURPRISED ME WHEN IT HAPPENED AND I AM THANKFUL NO OTHER VEHICLE WAS NEARBY AS I DID SWERVE INITIALLY. I AM ENCLOSING THE INVOICE I RECEIVED FROM THE REPAIR SHOP. THEY DIDN'T CHARGE ME FOR ANYTHING BUT THE PARTS. THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ THIS!
STEERING STARTED GETTING TIGHT THE WEEK OF JANUARY 20,2020.IT DOES LOOSEN UP SLIGHTLY ONCE YOU DRIVE IT FOR A FEW MILES BUT IT IS NOT 100%.IT IS SUPER HARD TO TURN IN THE MORNING OR AFTER SITTING 8 HOURS WHILE AT WORK. BUT I ESTIMATE IT TAKES DRIVING IT ABOUT 6 TO 10MILES BEFORE IT GET EASIER. I HAVE 73,000 MILES ON THIS TRUCK AND ACCORDING TO VIN. DATE NO RECALL ON STEERING ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND LOSS MOTIVE POWER WITH SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROADWAY. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE OF A PUDDLE OF OIL ON THE GROUND UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE RESIDENCE AND THEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE REPAIR WAS STILL PENDING. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED OR INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,000. *DT*JB
Radio works sometimes and you can't use you hands-free phone. Lights interior and running lights won't turn off until you go down the road a bit but when you shut the truck off, the lights stay on and run your battery down. Also when you swap out your Trans oil you start having shifting problems. I'm so over it. Thanks.
I DROVE MY F-150 ECCOBOOST TRUCK TO THE SNOW, SAME AREA I HAVE BEEN HUNDREDS OF TIMES AND SUDDENLY SMOKE BURST FROM THE ENGINE, THEN FLAMES SHOT OUT AROUND THE HOOD, POPPED THE HOOD AND FOUGHT THE FIRE FOR HALF AN HOUR, IT KEPT RESTATING. IT STRANDED MYSELF AND CHILDREN, AND WE HAD A HARROWING EXPERIENCE THAT WAS PRETTY DICEY. FORD HAD JUST PUT IN A NEW ENGINE, AT MY COST, +14,000.00, AFTER THE TIMING CHAIN FAILED. THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR IT AT THEIR COST, EVEN THOUGH I HAVE COPIES OF THE FAULT CODES FROM BEFORE THE FAILURE OF THE TIMING CHAIN THAT DESTROYED THE OLD ENGINE. THE NEW ONE HAD UNDER 10,000 MILES ON THE NEW ENGINE, PROBABLY ABOUT 5,000 MILES ON IT. WE HAD DRIVEN ON THE RELATIVELY FLAT GRADE MAINLINE ROAD, AND DROVE UP ABOUT 0.8 MILES, CLIMBING MAYBE 400 FT ELEVATION OVER THAT DISTANCE. I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF TURNING THE VEHICLE AROUND WHEN THE ENGINE BURST INTO FLAMES. IT WAS ON A GRAVEL ROAD. WE HAD TRAVELED FROM HOME, 35.2 MILES.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SAFELY GUIDE THE VEHICLE OFF OF THE ROADWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED BUT FAILED TO RESUME NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO KINDLE FORD-LINCOLN 525 STONE HARBOR BLVD, CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, NJ 08210 (609) 465-5000) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE RESULT WAS INCONCLUSIVE. A TRANSMISSION FLUSH WAS PERFORMED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
SECTION OF REAR WINDSHIELD SHATTERED WHILE DRIVING. THE REAR WINDSHIELD HAS A SLIDING MIDDLE SECTION AND HEATED DEFROST IN THE GLASS. THE DEFROST FOR THIS WINDSHIELD IS ON THE SAME SWITCH AND CIRCUIT AS THE DRIVER SIDE MIRROR DEFROST. I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON THE MORNING OF JANUARY 7TH 2020 AT APPROX. 0630. THE TEMPERATURE WAS COOL OUT AND MY DRIVER'S MIRROR WAS FOGGED UP. I TURNED ON MY MIRROR DEFROST AND APPROX. 5 MINUTES LATER HEARD A LOUD BANG. I STOPPED THE TRUCK TO SE IF SOMETHING HAD HIT MY TRUCK AND FOUND THE DRIVER'S SIDE PORTION OF MY REAR WINDSHIELD WAS SHATTERED. I WAS DRIVING DOWN A RURAL ISOLATED ROAD WITH NO OTHER VEHICLES AROUND AT THE TIME AND NO HOMES IN THE AREA. THE WINDOW TINE KEPT THE GLASS IN PLACE AND THERE WERE NO HOLES IN THE TINT WHERE SOMETHING PIERCED THE GLASS. WHEN THE SUN CAME I UP CHECKED MORE CLOSELY AND IT APPEARS AS IF THE GLASS SHATTERED FROM INSIDE THE FRAME WHERE THE DEFROST WIRE WAS. I CALLED THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED NO RECALLS. WHEN I SEARCHED ONLINE I FOUND SEVERAL COMPLAINTS OF SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THE REAR DEFROSTER ON FORD F150 PICK-UPS. I PAID MY $500 DEDUCTIBLE TO HAVE THE GLASS REPLACED.
MY USED 2014 F-150, (WITH 51K MILES) I OWNED FOR A MONTH, HAS A 6R80 TRANS, SLIPPED FROM 6TH GEAR, INTO 1ST GEAR WHILE I WAS DOING 65 MPH, WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE N.J. PKWY. IT WAS COVERED BY DEALER, TURNED OUT TO BE THE "LEAD BODY" THAT NEEDED REPLACING WITHIN THE TRANS. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH THIS TRANS, WITH THIS YEAR AND OTHER MODELS. IT WAS A COLD WINTER MORNING. I REMOTE STARTED MY TRUCK AND HAD THE REAR DEFROSTER ON TO CLEAR ICE AND SNOW FROM MY REAR WINDOW AND MIRRORS. I WAS STATIONARY, I PUT MY TRUCK INTO DRIVE TO PULL OUT AND WITHOUT ANY TYPE OF IMPACT, THE DRIVER SIDE GLASS PANE IN MY REAR WINDOW SHATTERED. *TR
I GOT A LEFT REAR DOOR AJAR WARNING ON THE DASH OF MY 2014 FORD F150 CREW CAB PICK UP TRUCK. I WOULD CHECK THE DOOR AND IT WAS CLOSED PROPERLY. EVERY TIME I STARTED THE TRUCK I WOULD GET THE WARNING. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH FORD TO FIND OUT WHY THIS WAS HAPPENING. ON THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT WITH FORD, I STARTED THE TRUCK AND HEARD A BUZZING TYPE NOICE FROM THE REAR SEAT AREA. I GOT OUT TO HE TRUCK WITH IT RUNNING AND OPENED THE LEFT REAR DOOR TO SEARCH FOR THE BUZZING NOISE. AS I WAS LOOKING FOR THE NOISE I STARTED TO SMELL PLASTIC BURNING, THEN OUT OF THE LEFT PILLAR BETWEEN THE FRONT AND BACK DOOR SMOKE STARTED POURING OUT OF WHERE THE SEAT BELT GOES BEHIND THE COVER WHERE THE SEAT BELT RETRACTS TO. SMOKE AND THE SMELL OF THE PLASTIC STARTED TO FILL THE CABIN AREA OF THE TRUCK. I SHUT THE TRUCK OFF. WITHIN ABOUT TEN MINUTES THE SMOKE CLEARED BUT THE SMELL OF BURNED PLASTIC WAS STRONG. I THEN HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO MILLER FORD IN LUMBERTON, NEW JERSEY. A PRELIMINARY REPORT FROM FORD IS THAT THE ELECTRICAL HARNESS IN THE DOOR POST AND UNDER THE CARPET AREA IS MELTED. I AM AWAITING TO HEAR FROM FORD THE FINAL STORY AT THIS TIME.
POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING INTERMITTENTLY MAKING STEERING DIFFICULT AND ACCIDENT LIKELY.
THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW SHATTERED THIS MORNING FROM HAVING MY REAR DEFROSTER ON. I TURNED MY DEFROSTERS ON BEFORE WORK THIS MORNING AND THEN DROVE APPROX 3 MILES BEFORE HEARING A LOUD SOUND FROM THE TOP REAR OF MY VEHICLE. IT WAS A CLEAR 1 LANE ROAD SO IT WASN'T POSSIBLE FOR ANYTHING TO HAVE HIT ME. EVENTUALLY I SAW THAT THE ENTIRE REAR WINDOW WAS SHATTERED. THE ONLY THING UNIQUE WAS THAT I HAD MY DEFROSTERS ON. I LOOKED ON THE INTERNET TO SEE IF THIS COULD HAVE BEEN THE CAUSE AND QUICKLY REALIZED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE REPORTED MY MANY PEOPLE. HOWEVER, IT DOESN'T SEEM LIKE FORD WILL ACCEPT IT AS THEIR FAULT.

MY 2014 F-150 PLATINUM EDITION REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW GLASS CRACKED THIS MORNING. AUTO STARTED MY TRUCK AND THE DEFROST AUTOMATICALLY TURNS ON AS IT'S WARMING UP THE TRUCK. 5 MIN LATER AFTER GETTING IN THE TRUCK DROVE THE TRUCK FOR 10 SEC OR SO AND I HEARD A LOUD POP! MY GLASS HAD SHATTERED INTO THE PIECES. DID RESEARCH AND SEEN I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS HAD THIS HAPPEN TO THEM. THE DEFROST SENSOR HAS BEEN CAUSING THIS TO THE 09-14 F150 AND FORD IS NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS.. I CALLED A COUPLE DEALERSHIPS AND ASKED THEM ABOUT IT AND THEY ALSO TOLD ME THEY HAVE HAD A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE CALL THEM ABOUT THIS ISSUE. WHAT IS FORD GOING TO DO ABOUT THIS? I DON'T REALLY WANT TO PAY 1K OUT OF POCKET TO FIX SOMETHING THAT'S AN ISSUE WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE SPEEDOMETER DROPPED TO ZERO WHILE TRAVELING 50 MPH AND THE TRUCK DOWNSHIFTED TO 1ST GEAR CAUSING THE TIRES TO SQUEAL, FISHTAIL, AND THE RPM'S REDLINED.I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST COUPLE WEEKS.

PRETENSION ON DRIVERS SIDE HAS BEEN REPLACED 2 TIMES NOW HAS TO BE DONE AGAIN AFTER4 MONTHS..PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON.THEY SAY NOTHING IS WRONG WITH IT.
I PURCHASED THIS TRUCK NEW IN MARCH 2015. I HAVE HAD IT SERVICED ACCORDING TO MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDATIONS EVERY 5,000 MILES. BOTH FRONT BRAKE LINES HAVE RECENTLY BURST WITH NO WARNING, AS FOLLOWS: - ON 1 MAY 2019, WHEN THE TRUCK HAD 105,488 MILES ON IT, I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP AT A CITY STREET RED LIGHT. THE PEDAL SUNK TO THE FLOOR CAUSING THE TRUCK TO ENTER THE INTERSECTION AMIDST ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT OR SOUND BEFORE OR AFTER THE FAILURE. BRAKE FLUID GUSHED ONTO THE GROUND FROM THE RIGHT FRONT BRAKE. A FORD SERVICE AGENT DIAGNOSED THE CAUSE AS A BULGE IN THE RIGHT FRONT BRAKE HOSE WHERE IT MET THE CALIPER THAT HAD BURST WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES. THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED MINUTES AFTER LEAVING THE SAID FORD SERVICE FACILITY AT WHICH THEY HAD JUST PERFORMED A BRAKE INSPECTION AND SAID ALL FOUR BRAKES LOOKED NEW AND THE VEHICLE WAS IN GOOD CONDITION. - ON 11 DECEMBER 2019, WHEN THE TRUCK HAD 113,089 MILES ON IT, WHILE THE TRUCK WAS PARKED, I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO START THE TRUCK. THE BRAKE PEDAL SANK TO THE FLOOR. AGAIN, THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT OR SOUND BEFORE OR AFTER THE FAILURE. I LOOKED UNDER THE TRUCK AND SAW BRAKE FLUID GUSHING OUT OF THE FRONT LEFT BRAKE HOSE. A FORD SERVICE AGENT DIAGNOSED THE CAUSE AS A RUPTURE IN THE FRONT LEFT BRAKE HOSE.
I PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK. I LEFT THE VEHICLE RUNNING GOT OUT WALKED UP TO THE GATE TO OPEN IT AND THE VEHICLE STARTED MOVING ON ITS OWN. THIS HAPPENED TWICE. THE FIRST TIME MY WIFE WAS IN THE FRONT SEAT AND WAS ABLE TO STOP THE TRUCK. THE SECOND TIME THE TRUCK PINNED ME BETWEEN THE TRUCK AND FENCE POST. A FRIEND WAS ABLE TO JUMP INTO THE TRUCK AND GET IT TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY ON FLAT GROUND SITTING IN OPEN LAND NOT ON A ROAD.

ALSO, A FUSE NEEDED TO BE RELOCATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
